Cuidado: Friday 11/28/08- "Two Wives and a Girlfriend"
Sorry but due to the time change of this show airing I didn't tape this episode. Therefore, I can only go from memory of watching it one time through. So this won’t be a recap, it is only going to be a brief summary…..
Marichuy tells Cande that she’s decided to forgive Juan Miguel and to tell him that they are expecting. She heads over to the castle and is told by Balbina that he’s left for work. Marichuy decides to stick around and wait. She has a run-in with Stef and they exchange words. Stef is her typical biznitch- self, as usual, and tries to use her status as JM’s girlfriend to boss MC around. MC reminds her that she’s JM’s wife and that trumps girlfriend any day. Stef leaves and then MC has a reunion with Cuate and a little chat with Mayita. Mayita lets MC know that Cuate’s been to see the vet, been vaccinated and now has a collar with a nametag. MC tells the girl that Cuate is there to stay and in the course of the conversation she mentions that perhaps Mayita would like a little sibling. Mayita is ecstatic over the idea.
Juanmi speaks to his lawyer, he wants to speed up the divorce process. He heads to the mental health center to check on patients. When he arrives, he’s told there is a new patient, a woman without any memory, apparently suffering from some trauma. The police recently brought her into the facility (she's been there three days, I think). JM goes to talk to her and it is Viviana. She plays like she’s catatonic and doesn’t recognize him (because we all know she's faking, although the powers that be made no indication of this, but we all know). He tries to jog her memory, but doesn’t tell her outright that he’s her husband (that would be really bad as a mental health professional). Getting no response from her, he goes and checks out her personal effects and spots her wedding band among the stuff. He tells a nurse that Viv is his wife.
Cecilia comes home and lets Stef and Isa know that she’s wise to them, that there is no way Stef is her daughter and that she knows that they prevented the rightful daughter, Marichuy, from taking her rightful place. Isa tries to tell Ceci she’s not thinking straight, but Ceci didn’t come down in the last shower of rain and she tells the two frauds to vacate the premises. Gestapo servant hears raised voices from the kitchen, but I can't clearly remember her reaction. Patricio shows up and wants to know why he’s heard yelling. Ceci fills him in and tells him that they need to stick together on this.
Elsa goes to see Eduardo and has a pregnancy test run. She’s not preggers. She mentions her and Nelson’s financial problems and Eduardo says that he’s there for her if she ever needs him.
Juanmi heads home and finds MC waiting there. He’s not too receptive to her visit. She attempts to tell him her news, but doesn’t get a chance because he tells her that their marriage was never valid, because Viv isn’t dead. In fact, she’s in a terrible situation and he’s going to do everything in his power to help her. So, MC's got what she wants...she's free.
Mayita goes to visit her abuelita Marianna and she tells her that Cuate's been to the vet and in an unrelated note, that she's soon going to have a little sibling. AM is impactada.
Isa comes up with a plan to save Stefi. She’s going to take the fall for the whole deception, but Stefi’s got to promise she’ll take care of her.
Marichuy leaves and heads home to cry on Cande’s shoulder. She fills Cande in on what she learned…..her baby won’t have a father and won’t have his last name.

Cathy, that's an excellent summary, and I can't think of anything to add. Silly me, I didn't even catch on to the idea of Viv faking, as I thought maybe she finally flipped out for real, but I'm sure you must be right.
Cathy- great work from memory! I wasn’t aware of the time change and so I only got to see the first few minutes of this episode. Double drat! I’d been soooo looking forward to seeing Stef and Isa get their comeuppance.
Wow – some great plot developments! That was really clever of Viv to fake being mentally wrecked, and also clever of Isa to suggest to take the fall herself so they can keep some connection.

Thanks for your powers of memorization Cathy! I wondered if folks who program their VCRs/DVRs would get the program taped with the time change.

I agree that Viv has got to be faking it. It must have taken a lot of work for someone so vain to go without showering for a while (or maybe she just worked out a lot). The writers do a great job of taking us on a roller coaster ride of JM's and MC's relationship or non-relationship. The highs are great even though there hasn't been too many and the lows does its job, makes us feel sad right along with the leads. The writers have done a good job of keeping JM and MC apart that they get us all excited when we think they're about to get back together. My heart was beating fast when MC was waiting at the stairs and JM walked in. I went along for the high and got dropped down low on the "roller coaster" because it turned out that there's no way they can be together now. That's ok though, it only makes me look forward to the next high, if it ever happens...

Hello there! folks. Great summary, Cathy.
I did tape the episode, but have not look at it. After the 8 o'clock showing of this novela, my family experience a crisis, so I had to deal with this.
What I know is that Querida Enemiga showed for two hours because it was the Gran Finale for it. For people that watch the show, the ending was spectacular. I enjoy it.
I will look at tape of this episode and see if I can get anymore of it than what folks already have.

I know she is faking amnesia or catatonia (good plot device, I didn't see that coming), but didn't JM wonder where she's been all this time? She didn't just wash up on the shore all the way from the Bahamas. And if she doesn't know who she is, how could she find her way back to her city? She couldn't have had I.D. on her or they would have contacted JM in the first place.

Here is what I have from my VCR taped episode of Friday night show.
What I get from my VHS taped of this episode and wasn’t mention by anyone is:
Estefania confronts Israel and asks him why he told JM that she cares for Israel and not him. Israel says because you do. Estefania tells Israel that she denied everything and now you look like a liar. He reminds her of there kisses and she yells at him that she needs a man with money. Israel recalls his conversation with JM.
Isabela asks Estefania why Israel and she were arguing. Estefania tells her that Israel told JM that she was in love with him. Isabela is outraged and asks are you in love with the chauffer.
Isabela yells at Estefania that she will not permit her to fall for Israel. That her plans will not go down the toilet. Estefania tells Isabela not to forget that she is only the aunt and she is the daughter.
JM is in his office remembering the fight again from last night. He calls his attorney and tells him to hurry up with the divorce.
Marichuy tells Candelaria that she wants to get back with JM and raise the baby together. Candelaria cries. Marichuy makes her promise not to tell anyone about the pregnancy. Candelaria tells her to hurry up because it is a hard secret to hold.
JM is in his office remembering the fight again from last night. He calls his attorney and tells him to hurry up with the divorce.
This was shown at the end of Wednesday night episode. In this episode, the summary that Cathy is good. The only add-on is:

When Marichuy is away from the barrio apartment, Amador comes by again to see Marichuy. Candelaria doesn’t let him in. She tells him that Marichuy is not in. Amador said something about San Roman. He still tries to get into the apartment thinking that Marichuy is there. Candelaria succeed in detouring Amador from coming into the apartment. Marichuy wasn’t there anyway.
Candelaria was surprised and astonished when Marichuy was relaying what happened at Juan Miguel’s house and what JM said. That his first wife is alive, so their marriage is void. She is free which she wanted anyway. Candelaria is the one that mention two wives, but Marichuy corrects her that she is not his wife before it is void.
I thought Juan Miguel was harsh to Marichuy about the way he was telling her that she was free which she is what she wanted. Here Marichuy is trying to talk to him and couldn’t he think that maybe there was a chance that they could solve this dilemnia of Vivana. Now I wonder if he was talking to Marichuy that way to get her to leave and discourage her from him because he chooses to help Vivana. Juan Miguel is stupid to choose Vivana over Marichuy. I know and bet a million that Vivana is faking it. She has been around Juan Miguel and being his wife, she has seen how his patients act she can portray one of them. She said that she was going to be back with her family again which meant Mayita and Juan Miguel. I don’t feel anything for Vivana. We know what she is capable of. I think Marichuy should leave because Vivana knows about her and she might go after her especially if she finds out that Marichuy is pregnant. I was also wondering if this is the time Marichuy leaves . . . . the city with Candelaria and ends up at a hacienda of a man called El Leopardo. This was in the synopsis. We have not been introduced to Rene Strickler’s character “El Leopardo” yet. I have been waiting for the El Leopardo to show. Just the name makes you think all crazy thoughts about his character and what he might be like.

Cathy: What a great memory you have. No, I didn't fall for Viv's catatonia. De acuerdo con Geni - she knows JuanMi's routine and how his really bad patients should act. I hope we get some explanation as to how she got back to Mexico.
I also thought JuanMi was a little harsh with Mari. He started out with accusations and wouldn't even let her get a word out of her mouth. Since she's so unsophisticated, she didn't know how to explain the situation to him. She gets my sympathy vote in this chapter.

Thanks for the recap Cathy (you do have a great memory) and your explanation for Vivian's appearance (she's faking her illness). I also have to agree w/all those who thought JM was harsh with Mari; he was. And he's going to kick himself very badly when Mayita tells him about Mari's pregnancy.
JM did give that cute little smile when he first saw Mari sitting on the steps. Like I've said, I don't understand what they are saying and have only just started watching for a few weeks, so I didn't even realize he was being harsh!! LOL. Did Mari actually tell Mayita she was pregnant? I know Viv and JM were in a plane crash (I think from reading past posts), but what happened to her, did someone find her on the beach and why did she not come home?

Here's what happened: Viv & JuanMi went on vacation to the Bahamas (he never really wanted to go; she insisted so as to get some "quality time" with him and try to save their rocky marriage). They were together in a small plane; it crashed over the ocean. They both survived, but her body was never rescued.She was presumed dead. When she discovered that she was alive and alone in a tropical resort, she started living the high life on her own and eventually ended up in Spain at the home of a girlhood chum (Leticia) and her husband (Gustavo). When her attempts to disrupt their home and get money from G. failed, she ended up back in Mexico. Meanwhile, she has surreptitiously encountered Mayita and convinced her of her existence. She has demonstrated from the outset that she is a self-centered conniver who will stop at nothing to get her way.
Violet608, I don't think Marichuy told Mayita that she is pregnant. She didn't word it that way. Marichuy tells that she is going to have a little sibling soon. Mayita is exhilarated over the idea.

Thanks for the info on Viv. I think I started watching the show when she was waiting for Mayita after school and didn't know what was going on, but understood that she was her mother. By the way, I think the actress playing Mayita is so adorable and such a good actress. I loved when she was so gleeful watching Mari on TV.

Cathy, thanks for having a great memory and thanks for recapping the show. The title is right on! JM doesn't know how to deal with one female, now we have to watch him continually botch handling three. Good thing he is so gorgeous to look at, he's going to make us all want to scream, perhaps some of you are already at that point.
Isa is wonderful as a villain such a change from her saintly mother role in Pasion. She will stir up the pot or plot in a hurry. I wonder if she has had some dealings with old Pat, could Estefania be the lust child of Isa and Pat??? A double betrayal of her friend....

Somehow I wasn't expecting Viv to show up quite so soon, although of course something HUGE had to keep JM and Marichuy from getting back together after she had decided to try. I would have liked to see them together and happy for a few days first--she could have decided to wait to tell him about the baby to see how things would go between the two of them. This show does keep things moving along.

A couple of ?'s about the show...Did Patricio leave Ceci when she had the baby. It seems she was alone when she gave Mari up, but I've missed months of this show and am not sure. Also, who is Adrian (I think that is his name)? He is always at Mari and Cande's apartment. He is good or a evil?!

Patricio's family didn't approve of Ceci, and he had left her (and apparently gone somewhere far away) and didn't even know she was pregnant. She never told him she had had a baby until recently, long after they had reunited.
Adrian is a guy who lives in Marichuy and Cande's neighborhood, a friend of Marichuy's who would like to be more than a friend. He works in some office and also goes to school.
