Fuego en la Sangre Mon. Dec.16, #158 - Last Night for Free Shipping of Aluminum Lined Beanie from L.L. Beanie in Freeplot, Maine

The picture is merely a joyous family enjoying each other's company on Sunday in case you have forgotten what that might look like. The beanies should be arriving soon.

Subtitle: Three Seductions and an Operation?

I am still looking for someone to take four Tuesday nights starting Jan. 13 through Feb.3, 2009. I don't know the end date of Fuego yet so it will be 4 times of Fuego or a combination with Fuego and the new telenovela, which I think is Mañana es Para Siempre starring our (no es feo) Fernando Colunga and many other favorites like Lucero and that gold medal winner of the cell phone hurl, Sergio Sendel. But there are 207 episodes per Wikipedia so my estimate is that this will end about the 20th of February if there are approximately 49 episodes left depending on how they handle the two part finale, and we have some breaks for Christmas and New Year's weeks.

The night begins one more sorry time with the sisters Elizondo's playing hard to get or impossible to get but wait there are other suckers out there to take up the slack.

Feo threatens the ex-jail bird that he pinned the Bernie killing on, but in turn is threatened by Padre Tad looking plenty mad. Gabriela is told by Raquel about Ricardo's abusive behavior toward his beloved Ruth. Ricardo will be the sociopath we all know him to be if he finds out that Root is not his, Raquel opines.

Gabriela looks in the mirror and says I am the most beautiful in the land, and the most powerful and thinks about poisoned apples, no, no, different story.

Pad Tad and Feo face off with mutually menacing threats, scudding clouds tell us this isn't headed to a happy choir practice session.

Uncle reads the riot act to the Reyez boyz for their disgusting behavior and mistaken conclusions about the death of their parents, he chides Juan for letting Sofia's harvest be ruined because he has denied her hacienda water. Oscar shows us how jealous looks even sober, But he won't listen to Tio about letting her go to someone else if he can't be happy with her.

Rosendo shows up to plead with Juan about the harvest. Rosendo is pained but doesn't know why Juan and Sofia can't get happy. Juan tells him that he has his parents death by Bernie to avenge.

Rosendo has memories of the face off with Elizondo and Uribe and he most clearly sees the snake buckle. Rosendo doesn't argue with Juan or tell him anything useful but remembers the buckle and that it was definitely Uribe's not Bernie's. We see him kneel with Pad Tad to tell him of his memories and fears. Egad, does everyone who knows the truth have to go into confession or into melt down so we can't make any progress here?

The baby's temperature is down, Sofia is so pleased and relieved but it is short lived since Gabriela oozing poison and sugar slimes in the door as she appreciates the baby's recovery but hands Sofia the paper which initiates her challenge to Bernardo's will and testament. With her sickening grin she assures Sofia that she will stop at nothing until she has regained all her property and power and oh, by the way I am so happy the baby is better. Wonder how the baby will look when she is out on the street?
****************
Paddy Tad assures Rosendo that he must break his silence and tell the truth about Gabriela's lie. Rosendo is afraid that confronting Ricardo Uribe directly will result in another tragedy. May God bless them all.

Feo Fernando is digging up his old money stash in the night forest

Quintina is selling tickets in her yellow uniform, giving death defying rides and counting her money like a circus carny.

Juan shows up in black hat and shirt while Juliana shows him her black negligee under her white robe, She removes his shirt and presses the flesh. She flashes back a Sofia telling of her eternal love of Juan which is so broken but she draws back from the warm and willing bare chest to say she can't go through with her desires. She knows Juan is so noble and so helpful but he must go and go now before she loses her resolve. Go to Sofia and don't let anyone separate you.

Feo is checking out his treasure of money, poison, gold lockets taken off of dead damsels and oops, slams the safe door closed when Ruth walks in. He uses the moment to slam her against the mirrored chest in a passionate assault. Can't tell if she half way likes it...

Juan shows up in Sofia's room with one baby and no nuns. Juan asks her pardon and she tells him that Maria Jose is sick again. They discuss her temperature that Sofia worked so hard to lower but Juan feels the baby and she seems too warm.

Juliana tells Papa that she is glad she gave Juan his out instead of carrying out her caprice. Juan is going back to his true love. She learned a great lesson but before she can tell her Papa, she faints with the rose still in her hand. Papa yells for her to react but she doesn't.

On a horse in the night, Juan and Sofia ride triple, Juan yells that the baby isn't reacting either as they speed toward the hospital. When did the dry ice forest open a hospital?
*********************
Feo and Ruth try to enjoy their moment by the mirror. She asks him to wait and he offers her a drink, yes she needs a drink so he leaves the room as she thinks what to do but we soon see the expensive looking wine in glasses looking sexy and provocative until she throws her wine in his face. He looks perplexed then throws his wine in her face. She slaps him, he slaps her b back they kiss some more, clothes slide away in jerk frame motions he approaches. No vocabulary here, none needed.

Side tragedy, the young wife Eugenia tells her mother-in-law she doesn't know how to handle let alone deliver the bad news that she won't getting pregnant. Rigo comes in, Mom leaves and Eugenia shows him the analysis envelope but he says this says the person who can't have children is me.

Juan and Sofia arrive at the clinic with screaming baby. The doctor pushes the parents out the door, he needs to examine the child who really has great lungs.

Rigo says I know how much you wanted to have babies. She tries to say it doesn't matter so much but their love matters to her. He counters, I'm good for nothing and will let her go on to find someone who can give her a family..... Mom has been listening and rushes in to ask him what he is saying.

Gonzalo makes a proposal to Sarita that he wants her to be the woman at his side for all his life. So, my little chickadee, will you be my novia? She considers...

Oscar slides into Jimena's bedroom with bandages under his sombrero. They discuss the futility of their happiness, he wants to know why the other guy was kissing her. The best thing she says is to separate forever and tells him to go. Sadly he accepts the rejection once more. In the background Franco sings as the full moon rides high again. Franco is actually singing in the kitchen but the brothers hunker in their little bedroom, Tio comes in the kitchen with a bottle of Tequila.
Sara remembers Franco then tells Gonzalo that she accepts and will be his novia.
********************
Tio opens said tequila bottle in the kitchen and Franco begins to spill the story one more time of why they are all such a miserable bunch of unrequited lovers. Franco can't figure out why they have to keep suffering for the death of the parents. Beats me why we have to keep suffering right along with them.

Juan and Sofia talk about their suffering and worry about the baby.

Rigo, Eugenia and Mom talk about why it makes sense to get divorced because he can't have baby. He don't feel like a man, Mom thinks a MAN is one who loves, supports and stays faithfully with his love. Eugenia then divulges that at first she didn't love Rigo because she still loved Benito but as time went by, she came to love him for his great love and sweetness. She would prefer sacrificing being a mother rather than lose him.

Gabriela's gaze dwells on her empty bed which reminds her that her heart is empty too and has been more and more lately. She sensually sniffs a handkerchief and says the only man she ever really loved is Ricardo. For this she gave him the greatest most profound gift, something he always wanted, the best gift ever, something that Raquel could never give him. We are accepting all bets here: whatever could she mean....teehee.
********************
Papa Uribe decides that nothing will separate him from his beloved baby girl. He will seek her out and tell her what he is looking for and find out why she is looking for kisses from the Reyez bum.. Meanwhile darling daughter is using her belly button as a wine cup as Fernando has tied her up with leather belt to the bedstead and oops papa approaches, how sexy.

Sofia and Juan decide that not only pain has kept them together. They remember moments of happiness and love. Sexier scenes with Juan and Sofia than we have ever seen fly by and the babies being charming and not screaming for a change tells us that fantasies can take many forms. But back to reality in seek revenge and suffer land. None of their dreams has come to life like they planned. Is it love or pain that is forever but they are bound by it. The tears flow together.

Next: Well Nickster, looks like you get the operation, I think they found the hospital, I got some expected and unexpected seductions.

If worst comes to worst, we can always post a headline and do a recap-by-comments. It's worked fairly well in the past.

Would this be a bad time to interject that I'm going to Cozumel and I need a sub...?

Thanks Julie, let's see if anyone wants to share the joy of recapping...

Nickster, when are you going?

Ah Cheryl...I see you've been receiving countless e-mails of "last chance, free shipping etc." just like I have.

Lots of clever, funny lines...even poetic ones..."scudding clouds" was my favorite. And enjoyed that harking back to Snow White's wicked stepmom. Gabriela sure fits the bill.

Sorry I missed the Ruth, Fernando hot lovin' scene. Sounds like it was a barn burner.

I like Julie's suggestion of a headline and recap-by-comments strategy. You have lots of funny commenters on this line and I think together, they'd do a great job.

What dya say? commenters?

Thanks, Cheryl, for the speedy recap. I fell asleep , but woke up just in time to see Ferd doing body shots with Root. Yikes. Poor sweet Rigo cannot catch a break. Maybe Mighty Joe Juan will once again be called into service to impregnate Eugenia. Rigo's mama provided an excellent definition of a man. And so it goes.

Thank you Cheryl for the recap. I finally got to see an entire episode! And what an episode it was. Has anyone noticed the giant snake statue/phallic symbol in Abuelo's old crib? Darth Uribe looks more like a beady-eyed weasel than a snake if you ask me.

Well we were right about Juliana (yeah!). The look on Juan's face was priceless. He looked like he just ate something really nasty. And I walked into the living room just in time to see Root throw wine in Feo's face. It was like a train wreck, I couldn't look away. Ewwwww!

Don't you think someone would have found Feo's little stash before now? What might give it away? Hmmm...I don't know...maybe the freshly dug hole? What a tool.

Cheryl: Great recap and fun to read.

I could not believe the scene between Rosendo and Juan which you detailed so well: "Rosendo doesn't argue with Juan or tell him anything useful but remembers the buckle and that it was definitely Uribe's not Bernie's. We see him kneel with Pad Tad to tell him of his memories and fears. Egad, does everyone who knows the truth have to go into confession or into melt down so we can't make any progress here?"

That was one of the most exasperating scenes so far (and there have been hundreds)...Too easy for Rosendo to just tell Juan the truth and eliminate the need for 20 or 30 episodes for this to come to light. It's got to come out sometime and there will be retribution from Ricky whenever it is so why prolong the agony??

Susanlynn, you are so right - Rigo can't get a break. Another example of bad things happening to good people.

WHERE is Coyote? Let's hope he arrives soon and cleans up this mess. Diana in MA

Thanks Cheryl for another enjoyable night in Mexiloon. And thanks for ordering that beenie for me!!

Okokay. Let me get this straight. Three SUV's and a car are parked at the Double E when the baby's temperature is off the charts, but Juan and Sofia are "forced" to ride like the wind out of the wilderness of the back barnyard, on horseback, with their sick child to the little clinic in town??? Then the little one, wrapped up like a mummy in a wool blanket in the middle of a Mexican summer night faints while galloping into town (bumpety bump, bumpety bump)and they wonder why she's back to consciousness and screaming her lungs out in the clinic during the exam?

Although I thought Rosendo's excuse for not telling Juan about the belt was pretty lame, I would have found it more acceptable if he'd at least told Sofia the truth. He could have told her what he told the padre, including the warning about not wanting Juan to go crazy.

It wouldn't save the Juan and Sofia relationship, but at least she wouldn't have to go on thinking that her father was a double-murderer and swindler.

I'll need someone to cover Dec. 31, but now that I think about it, I doubt they'll be showing a new episode of FELS on New Year's Eve... Either way, I won't be here!

Oh, the suffering we must endure. So much angst, so little interest. What a sad bunch of whining idiots. Thanks, Cheryl, for another splendid recrap. I was out with some friends last night, enjoying wine, fab food, & a wonderful performance of A Christmas Carol so as hard as it was to miss an episode, I swallowed hard & took my punishment. ;-)

Julianna decided that a hump session w/ Mighty Joe Juan wasn't really a good idea. Well, now that we know she has a brain, she must die.

No spoiler but will Rigo & Eugenia adopt one of the 3 hijas? Once Slofia & Juan figure out which one is theirs, maybe they'll auction off the other 2.

Root & Feo sittin' in a tree, _ u c k i n g. First comes slaps, then some kicks. Then comes Crabi having manic fits.

Where's Coyote & Abuelo & Pablito? Argh!

Maggarita

When Ruth told Feo to go get her a drink I thought for sure she was going to look for a knife, or slip out the window, or something. But I guess that really unhappy look on her face was supposed to be sexual tension. Crazy girl.

Hi Cheryl and thanks for the grand recrap! I was torn between watching FELS and trying to get a fire going in my fireplace. Molly, you enjoying the ice 'n snow?
Anyway, no spoiler here, but my brilliant prediction seems about to come true!!!
Juliana seems to be dying just as the little bambina needs a heart transplant...oh those goofy writers, how they love to surprise us.
"Creemelo"

Rigo and Eugenia should go to the revolving door orphanage. You just walk in off the street and come out with a baby. What could be easier.

I think we're all doing great with our predictions. Creemelo's about Juliana's heart sounds good, and I also like Maggarita's about Rigo and Eugenia adopting one of the kids!

I'm still baffled by who might have switched Root and Sofia all those many years ago. I think there are only four candidates. Raquel (but I don't think she knows, and doesn't have much of a motive), Bernardo (but he'd never do it since he was such a noble character), Gabi (who keeps saying Root is Eva's child, but could easily be lying), and Ricardo, who would have a good motive (he would want the child he had with Gabi, and it's hard to believe he wouldn't realize Raquel was never pregnant). But so far, everyone's afraid to tell him Root "isn't his", so I don't know.

I was a little disappointed in Franco's singing. Once again, they seemed to add the instruments after the singing, and they weren't in the exact same key. BTW, he wasn't playing guitar at all. He was just holding one chord (the wrong one - I checked).

Don't forget, Lola, you get a free nun with every adoption. Sounds like a sweet deal to me.

A free nun with every kid...sweet! But in Mexiloon, everything comes in 3s so do you also get an Escalade? A horse? A shawl? A bottle of tequila?

Wait...I know...you get a hairy loaf of bread in the shape of your child's first initial.

Cree: ruh roh...here comes a heart transplant! Makes total sense. Hope they have some duct tape to keep the gaping hole closed.

Maggarita
:-)

Thanks for all the fun comments. This was mostly a fun episode with all the bad people being extra bad and all the pathetic people being extra pathetic. And what is it with the SUV's that only seem to run well for the evil characters. Although I personally loved seeing Capricho again even in poor lighting, what a noble horse.

I love all the plans you have all conjured up for sharing the girls, sharing the nuns and saving the baby. It seems that the villains could be split up too and each good family could take one ogre instead of them all piling into Hacienda San Agustin.

Nickster, I can take care of posting a place or whatever on New Year's Eve but I think you are right that the episode will be preempted that evening with musical festivals.

Thanks for the recrap, Cheryl. Yes, no phones of any kind have been used, ever, in FELS to call anyone, let alone the doctor. And of course, in an emergency ride a horse instead of taking a SUV. However, since it is Capricho and he is brighter than Juan and Slofia, he might know a shortcut to the dispensario or hospital or wherever they went. Juliana was not crushed under 200 lbs. of Juan but we all knew the noche de amor would never occur. GinCA

Great recap, Cheryl, and I love your title. (!!!) I have added another layer of Heavy Duty aluminum foil to my beanie. I got my nights mixed up and I was worried that the Root/Feo/wine/dominatrix stuff would warp our sweet young Nickster’s mind. Probably Looneyvision will replay THAT scene again tonight during the first 15 minutes. Is Nicky on duty tonight? Eek.

Eeew! Eeeewwww! My DH looked at the TV right when they showed Root tied to the bed and the body 'shots' and asked just WHAT was I watching?!? (tee hee) My answer: Meh - our gratuitous sex for the night.

”Oh, the suffering we must endure. So much angst, so little interest. What a sad bunch of whining idiots.” Maggarita – are you referring to the TN characters or us Caray commenters here in Viewerville? (BuaHahahahaaaaaaaaa……)

How many people have to tell I-Juan-a-Brain that Bernie did NOT kill his parents, before he will believe it? Argh….

Thank heavens for the Mute button when Franco was singing. Ouch.

What was up with the constipated look on I-Juan-a-Brain’s face when Juliana started undressing? I knew that date was doomed (the falling anvil?) when I saw his face, but I thought HE would be the one to back down. Did her father actually condone this “event?” Yikes.

I’ll tell y’all what really bothered me the most last night: seeing that big honkin’ white side-by-side refrigerator with ice & water dispenser in the Reyes’ kitchen. That and Gabi's bedside lamp are proof there is electricity in Mexiloon.

doris

I could have sworn I saw cars driving by when Feo was digging up his "treasure." Did anyone else see it? Do you think the Nuns walk dogs? I have 2 dogs so does that mean I get one nun for each or is that just for kids?

There has been one phone call in this series that I know of. We didn't get to see it, but Jimena said she was going to go into town to use "the phone" to order some lingerie from a catalog (product placement ad).

Evidently, that phone is strictly for underwear-related emergencies, because it was never mentioned again.

Doris: LOL! No, we here in Viewerville are not idiots, we are an incredibly intelligent, witty, and creative crew suffering from the strain of stooopidity, all in the hopes of getting a few cheap thrills with a little ogle-worthy material. It's the least they could do for us. We've definitely been shortchanged with FELS.

Connie: I saw cars in the background during the festival/horse race/slug fest the other night. Another editorial oops.

Maggarita

Franco's singing of "Deja que Salgo la Luna" was like nails on a chalkboard; awful, awful. Has anyone heard Placido Domingo's version on the Alborado CD? It is so very powerful and beautiful.

Julie, thanks for reminding me about the lingerie product placement related phone call but that seems like eons ago and, unfortunately, my poor FELS damaged brain is no longer functioning. GinCA

Yes, that song was awful. I had to put the tv on mute!

Re: the snake/phallic symbol. I guess when Ricardo ordered poor Raquel to UNPACK the bags, she just popped out the coiled snake. Perhaps it is inflatable, not a 50 lb. stone one (imagine shlepping that around from place to place.) GinCA

Needless to say, I'm very disappointed in Ruth.I almost feel sorry for Fernando. I'm certain that Ricardo is not going to be pleased finding Fernando licking wine off his little princess' bubies. As for the heart transplant, ordinarily the heart of someone with leukemia would not be used, and the size discrepencies have been pointed out, but in Mexidoon, who knows? I didn't get to participate in yesterday's discussion because we took the day off to take our little pooch to the vet school at Texas A&M. Our vet thought that she had a cancer of the bone in her leg. Fortunately it turned out to be a ruptured ligament with quite a bit of bone trauma; expensive but not deadly, thank goodness. However, it looks like I'm the only one who found the girls' outfits attractive. Lastly, where's Coyote?! Carlos

Creemelo, today was the first day I made it to work. Ugh! I'm one of the few here and as the snow continues to fall, many are leaving. The kids are loving it and pretending they won't have to make up the days in June!

I love that we are getting snow, even if getting around here is awful. How is it down your way?

I think Ruth has been toqued!

Where is Coyote? That is the million dollar question. He needs to pop up and take charge of the situation.

The sun is out today melting the gunk from the road. Tonight we are supposed to get freezing rain. How lucky are we?! Everytime it snows here people act like--Oh My God we have snow! Duh! It snows every year around this time--it's called Winter. One day it could be 65 and the next we could have 2 inches of ice.

Molly, we had single digits Tues & Weds nite. They didn't sand my street, it's still covered in ice, so I walked (!) to work yesterday and today and am feelin' very self-righteous!
"Creemelo": walkin' on water (okay, frozen water)

I'm glad your doggie got some good news, Carlos.

Yes, Ruth has been tocada. Or she's about to get tocada, depending on your definition of "tocada." I wonder if someone will intercept Darth Ricardo before he can open the door, or if he'll see something so awful he'll forget that Root is his princess.

Maybe the door's locked.

I'm not sure what would be worse: Ricardo seeing Root and Feo together, or Gabi seeing them together.

Maybe Ricardo sees them first, runs to Gabi's room and says "wait till you see this" and drags her down the hallway...

PS Anon 4:51--"Root has been toqued!" ROFLMAO!!!
My sis, who is a seriously obsessed fan and understands no Spanish, has adopted this as her new theme phrase: "No Tokay! No Tokay!"

oops that was me with the obsessed sister.
"Creemelo"

Thanks Cheryl, that was so detailed, don't know how you do it.

I might have mentioned this before, but doesnt ANYONE see Kathy Griffin when they look at Root. Picture Root with red hair. I'm telling you, they're dead ringers.

I was wondering if Ruth was raped by Fernando or not. From the looks of Ruth's reaction most of the time, She does not want to be touched and kissed and fondled. Then later she seems to relent to the kiss as she kisses back.

When she threw the drink at Fernando and slapped him later, i thought she meant it. I guess Fernando just thought she wanted rough sex. What's up with that?

Coyote the Yul Bryner seems to be an international man of mystery with his comings and goings. Looks like he has a bigger part here than I thought.

I'm so sick of baby unibrow's fever issues. Not to be mean or anything but it is just a fever. I know she has a heart condition, but is the fever related to that or just an ordinary fever? They all act like she is going to die immediately and start panicking at the slightest hint of sickness. Almost worse than Sofia's lamenting her 'lost' baby during Juan's disappearance in Las Barancas.....Just my opinion.

BTW I like how quickly they remodelled the cabana. Looks like a fraction of my basement bar.Ricardo Uribe must be an alcoholic. He is always downing bottles of tequila.

If Oscar wanted to get even with Roman, he could have pulled a Fernando Escandon and ride back with his shotgun and take out Roman. That should make Roman pee his pants... He might know martial arts but he does not look like he ever handled a gun.
Ibarramedia

Do we know yet why she doesn't want to be touched? There is something weird about Root and Darth's relationship. I shudder to think about it. :-}

Ruth seems selective about her no me toca command. First it is almost always used on women, except for recently hugging Gabriela. With men, she has no problems climbing them like a firefighter coming down the pole to get to the fire. It seems pretty affected but may have some deep psychological meaning that they are going to beat us over the head with later....??

That no touching act by Root is just a control thing. She can touch whom ever she wishes but they ... well you get the picture.mhm
