Fuego en Sangre 1-12-09 Mon. -Revenge is brewing on many fronts

Hey there. I'm subbing for Julie tonight so I put together a sort of quickie.....

We open with the costume fest and Jime flashing back Juan's kiss with Root.

Juan hopes that this time it's really going to happen and Soph tells Juan that she is sure nothing can separate them now. Oh crap. That's a death sentence.

The sis' and Eva are fawning over Soph and messing with her wedding dress.

Tio gives Juan the suit his Dad married in. Juan remembers seeing a picture and that someday he'd wear a suit like this for his boda. He rushes off to Oscar's therapy. Tio then balls all over that same suit that he misses his brother.

Oscar is on his flannel blankie on the ground lifting his own leg with his hands, that's pretty impressive. His brothers join him for what turns into flash back alley. They recall all important turning points in the show from the day they found out about Libia's relationship to the day they showed up at the hacienda, and HURRAY!!! A reprise of the naked swimming scene!!!! Complete with blurs!!! Ugh!! ....anyway...they traverse their journey of love and hate to where they are now and end with a big multi man hug on the floor together.

Root is trying to get into the caja fuerte cursing Feo all the way. Feo shows up without knocking and he reminds her this was his room first. They do their usual rough playing and kissing with boots on the bed as she tries to get the document she signed back from him. He refuses saying that is his best proof that she too wished the death of Crabby so she'll never get it back. She kicks him out then tries again to change his mind with her feminine wiles. Problem is she's not all that feminine, really. Sure enough, it doesn't work and he leaves. She smacks the wall.

Gabi and Ricky are having a conversation. He can't believe she let Feo into her family. He thinks she's a fool. Shortly thereafter Feo happens upon the door. Gabi is begging Ricky to leave Feo alone. Ricky says look just because we have a kid together doesn't mean I'm going to let you use me again. Ruth is our daughter, and that will unite us, but don't expect anything else from me. Feo of course gets an earful of all of this, and that Soph isn't her daughter and he is muy impactado.

Soph is asking Juan about remembering the time they made bread together. All of a sudden they smell something burning. That darn Pablito, he left his coffre in the oven. At a bakery. That would surely use the oven everyday. Hmmm, I always thought Pablito had the most sense of all those buffoons. Pablo, I'm embarassed for you, the oven? Sigh. Anyway, of course this stupid manuever has a purpose, to allow Juan and Soph to fish it out of the burning oven. Of course they pull it apart and discover the magical papeles. These papers recite that Raquel Uribe is the owner of all Uribe property and nothing belongs to Ricky. Reading this starts the few neurons in Juan's cabeza spinning, and he deduced that must have been the man in the hacienda and he must have been trying to find them. Our heroes make their best evil smile at the thought that they have these over him.

They then make the giant leap to deduce that Raquel must be in danger for her life. Soph realizes Raq has been missing for a while. Juan decides he must look for her. Soph says no, she'll try instead.

Pab shows up just in time to get called decelebrado- brainless- for leaving his coffre in the oven. He laments the fringed state of his secretos including his photo of Rosita. Soph promises him it will be ok and that she'll help him get another picture. Oh, and if it was for his stupidess they never would have found these magical important papers!!

Gabi and Ricky continue their slimy conversation. She says she's there for him so he can't deny her what she asks. He'll stick by her as long as it's cool for both, but if he has to defend his own interests, he'll drop her like a lead balloon. Gabi says he knows what she's capable of. She wantsto know why he was shot. He says he doesn't know. She doesn't believe him and note that his past is catching up with him and that soon he will meet with hell; he says if that happens, they'll meet it together.

Feo's neurons are firing too. He has a lengthy conversation with himself about what it means for Ruth to be Crabby and Ricky's daughter and that's why she saved Crabby. He decides he has to dominate her now like it or not. If not, he'll have to eliminate her even if it means losing have the fortune. Because the dead can't interfere, they're dead. He repeats, they're dead.

He then wonders if Soph isn't Crab's daughter, then who is her Mom? This takes him all of about 2 and 3/4 seconds to determine it must be Eva, that this is the daughter she has been searching for for so long. He laughs like only he can do so well.

Soph is telling Eva that she is going to become Nancy Drew and investigate all this, maybe Raq knows about the papers already. Eva as usual warns her against taking such a risk and that it's dangerous.

Ruth is grooming herself with what looks like a mini-horse brush, but what do I know. Feo watches and then enters and admonishes her not to underestimate him. He makes alliances as he wishes and no one is irreplacable. She wonders if he is warning her and he responds that he keeps his enemies closer than his friends, that way it's easier to eliminate them. With that he is out of there, without having boinked her despite her sliding the horse brush inside of her pants. Ruth is perplexed.

Reyes bros with Tio discuss the papers and what this means and what they should do. Juan decides they should keep them for a while, give him lickings for a bit and then when it's appropriate, turn him over to the authorities. Chente Jr. in a rare moment of emoting screams that he'll kill him. The boys think no, he should be turned over to justice. Oscar looks positively frightened by Tio's reaction.

Soph encounters Ricky and wonders where the hell Raq got off to. He wants to know what her business is with his wife. She tells him it's none of his concern and what's he going to do, kill her like he did the Robles Reyes? He eventually tells her that Raq flew the coop. Soph can't believe it.

Raquel chats with blind mama about not wanting to get back with Ricky or Ruth. They both mistreat her. Coyote Mama mourns for her son as she doesn't want him to stain his hands either. She mentions this all has something to do with Rick Uribe and Crab Acevedo.

Soph tells Eva Raquel fled. Eva isn't surprised. Soph has for some reason taken this on as her little charity project and decides she must find Raquel and rightfully return her property to her. OK, I'm confused. Isn't this the same Soph who wanted to take away lands and stuff from Raquel a few novela months ago? Anyway, she decides to be her guardian angel now.

Crabby and Ricky discuss Soph's visit, he wants her to find out why Soph was snoopin'.

Oh for Gosh sakes give it up already. Root seeks out Feo, who snidely knew she would come because his words surely affected her and caused her to think. He offers his help to her separating Soph and Juan because surely she can't do it alone.

The Marias admire a beefsteak who hands them a flyer advertising a strip show.

The sisters go to visit Jime who has installed herself in the shop. They try to talk her out of it, or to let them stay too some time. She says she is in peace and wants to stay there. Sara stays behind so thankful they have such a chummy sister as Soph and Jime tells her about the kiss she saw. For once cynic Sara states that surely this was some trick by Ruth and she says no way should we tell Soph. Ugh again. This can only turn out badly.

Juan mudwashes the room he has decided Sophi and he will share once married. How romantic. My favorite color is mud too. I especially liked the ceramic boot he pulled out as some sort of decorative item. Equally romantic. Ah Juan...

Quintina teases the Marias they've never been in Amsterdam when they show. She tries to coerce them into going to the show and suggests that they go in a disguise so no one recognizes.

Pablito is humming piquito de oro and is actually a great singer, he's redeemed himself. Oscar rolls around the room making fun of everyone painting techiniques. Oscar barks orders about how they should fix the painting and they rave that he's back to his old obnoxious self.

Quinti is trying to get another recruit to go see the "Angels". In true macho form Horty's novio comes up and says they are going to marry right this very second so then she doesn't need to go to the singles club to see the show. Quinti tries to talk him out of it. She provokes the funeral march out of the musicians nearby.

Juan brings his woman home and grunts, me did this. Sophi of course looooves it. They are just delusioned over each other and say again that finally they will marry. And Vicente sings on.

Coyote Mama is trying to talk her son out of committing a nasty revenge crime like any good Ma would. He says he can't forgive and will get revenge if it's the last thing he does. Me thinks it will be.

Raq remarks she heard that Coyote wasn't convinced. She asks Mama if her grand plan is still in place for tonight and Mama replies yes more than ever.

We flash back to Crabby taking Eva's daughter. Soph comes up and wonders why she is crying. The gist of this conversation is that if Soph was her daughter instead of Ruth would she forgive her for giving her up? Of course Soph White says she'd never turn away Eva, and even if she doesn't have Ruth, she has Soph. Blah blah.

Padre shows up to the hacienda. Feo teases that he has nothing new to confess right now. Padre tells him he has a signed letter that Feo tried to kill Abuelo Acevedo. Feo laughs this off until Paddy Tad tells him he has a witness. Just then Ruth comes down the stairs asking what is it you wanted to see me about Padre? Impactado Feo is what we are left with until tomorrow.

Thanks for the recap, Fuego RdR. I haven't had chance to watch my recording yet. I wonder why the Uribe lands were put in Raquel's name??? The plot thickens. Clearly Raquel doesn't even know.

I'm so ready for this 'novela to be over, although I will miss all y'all.

doris

I guess that Pablito's dad really is Oscar, they both had the good judgement to hide their valuables in the oven. Damn, I thought that Pablito was at least a little smarter than your average Robles-Reyes man. Oh well. Carlos

Thanks, FRdR for the 'cap. I snoozed thru quite a bit of it, so the holes have been filled. I hope that Pad Tad has more than Augie's statement written down and safely stored...I did see Tio's bloodthirsty outburst, I was as impactado as Oscar. Seems the camisa de boda must have jarred his complacent brain cells to seek revenge, maybe he will be the one to undo Ricky and Crabi. Those papeles famosas- Juanabrain knew instantly what they said before his eyes even had time to focus on the page. Maybe he shoulda been an abogado instead of a panadero...dorado dave

Thanks, Fuego. It was a looong day yesterday , and I fell asleep at 8.30 right after sweet Hub made me French toast for dinner, so I slept through the whole mess. What is it with folks putting valuables in the EasyBake Oven ???

Shouldn't the abuelo have given his written statement about Feo's attempted murder to Mutton Chops rather than Pad Tad? Oh right, both are incompetent idiots.

Thanks for the recap Fuego. Hooray for naked swimming! That was the best part of the whole show. I'm so over Snofia and Juan. I love Juan but all that kissy-face stuff just gets to me. If Franco is singing Ave Maria at their wedding, I'm going to have to change the channel! :}

Fuego: Thanks for the recap. I missed almost half of this and in no way shape or form will I record this novela to watch at a later date.

Agreed - I'll be glad when this potboiler is over, although I'm as addicted to it as much as I am to Cuidado.

Feo has really gone totally insane, and Sr. Cantu plays it to the hilt. The mirror scene was particularly creepy. The dead are dead. Yeah, we all know that, but it has special meaning for you.

How will burly bear linebacker, I Juan A Brain, manage to fit into Pa's wedding outfit. I know Pa is a tad bigger than his bro, Tio Elf, but really. May be the outfit is made of the new stretchy stuff that never wrinkles and you can roll into cylinder to fit in your luggage. Just like Jimena's wardrobe fits into a tiny suitcase. Thanks, Fuego, for a fun and informative recap. I still haven't figured out CCs on my new TV so your recap really helped me out. GinCA

Our good characters are way worse at their schemes than the baddies. Sofia comes right out and tells Ricardo she's looking for Raquel. Of course, this gets him to thinking, and that can't be good. Pad Tad comes right out and tells Feo he has a witness. Is Root really going to cooperate with Feo standing right there? In general, the good guys always announce everything, whereas the bad guys never tell the good guys anything, and rarely even tell each other what's going on.

BTW, Juan seems to have remembered just about everything from when he had amnesia. Why hasn't he remembered that Feo kidnapped his baby daughter? That would be a crime (although I guess Feo's committed so many crimes, jail's not going to be enough).

Thank you thank you thank you for covering for me, Fuego de Rosca!

Thanks for the recap; it was fun. Ok, I get the boots on the bed as a sign of insolence, but what up with Root and the Michael Jackson half gloves?

VV who resisted making a cheezy political statement about throwing shoes.

Great Recap Fuego.

The unholy alliances are being joined and then broken in record time. The evil ones are growing even more demonic and insane with every episode (particularly Feo). I hate to say it but Feo does seem to be the most intelligent. He figures out everything quickly and is able to think logically. Traits which would greatly help our heroes (particulary Sophia and Juan).

I am very worried for Ricky Jr. From the preview, it looks like Mama is going to interfere in some manner and I hope it doesn't backfire. I think things are going to get rough for our Coyote before it's over. Diana in MA.

Thanks all. I just have to say this novela is just sooooo darn easy to recap compared to others. Not sure if it's the simpleton script, the constant flashbacks, the extreme repetitiveness or the the ubiquitos singing. Heck, maybe it's all of the above. Wink, wink. I just never have a problem quickly getting the basics done on this one.

Anyway, Pasofino, in my house we have been saying for months that Cantu is the absolute best actor on this show and delivers flawless performances night after night. (Pablito of course is right up there). I can't stand his character and I'm not enchanted by his look, but he is absolutely a genius in this role. Never overacts, always uses his whole self, and really just creeps you out completely. Three cheers for Cantu. 'Course as the non-protagonist and the evil-doer, he'll get no respect from the industry at large. Sigh.

I think I know why this crapfest runs over 200 episodes. About a quarter is flashbacks, and Univision nearly always repeats the end of what happened the day before, sometimes 7 minutes worth! Then you add the padding from corny cultural festivals, mariachis singing and Quintina's antics. This thing could have easily been only 100 eps.

I think the most disgusting and egregious scenes in this novela are the S&M ones with Feo and Root. Not to mention the lack of logic. Root comes on initially as the toughest broad around, insulting everyone and loaded with leather. Then she simpers through Feo's rough sex act. It certainly doesn't work for me.

Was that Juan Robles Reyes wedding traje or one just like it? I thought I heard Juan say he copied it from his papá's wedding photo, not that it was the very same suit.

And yes, Hombre, our stellar cast of monkey writers seem to have completely forgotten about Juan's amnesia sub-plot. He remembers everything except the one thing which would put Feo in the soup.

You're right, Fuego, Cantu does throw himself into the character completely. He uses his body with gestures and shoulder movements as well as facial expressions and tone of voice. Gosh, I wonder if a little bird from Cuidado has flown over and is in his ear.

I hope the Very-Evil-Spawn of the Devil Ricardo Sr. gets what is coming to him by the Not-So-Evil-Really Ricardo Jr. (a/k/a Coyote). And then Coyote takes out the Ice Queen Crabi. We can only cross our fingers and wait until tonight. :)

Thanks for the clearing up on Juan's wedding outfit, Novelera. Without CCs it's pretty hard for me to follow even though script seems to be written by a simpleton. GinCA.

Mu favorite line?...."Oh crap, that's a death sentence". You sum up things well, Fuego.

Thanks for stepping in for Julie and for entertaining us mightily as well. Much better than watching the dang thing.

Susanlynn...so glad to know someone else sometimes crashes and burns at 8:30 pm. I'm getting so I'm ready for dinner at 4 pm (not that it's possible) and after that, it's all downhill!

When Tio was crying over the wedding suit I thought he was laughing and didn't get it for a minute. Then I realized he was crying. It actually made me sad.

Made myself laugh..."Ruth is grooming herself...before I finished reading the whole sentance the image of a cat flashed through my mind!

Enough with the Flahsbacks! Really we had to recap the entire show for the umpteenth freak'n time??

Why can't the boys just flashback on all the fun they had swimming and showering?

Did anyone watch the TBLMOE Colunga on Cristina last night? It was interesting to watch all the other telenovela actors praising him. Some of them were funny, especially Cesar Evora and Sebasian Rulli (who made a point of being younger than FC!)

Cristina alluded to having been out socially with Fer and some of his novias, trying to put to rest speculation about why there's never any girlfriend. Of course, Fer always says he's just a private person.

He said something about having a family being something he wants "soon". His reason for not marrying and having children was the same as I've heard before: not fair to a spouse putting up with his long work hours and absences. Hmmmm.

He is SO charming and funny.

I was struck by the fact that nearly all of the female leads did a video with an anecdote and praise for Fer except Adela. Of course, she famously doesn't appear on interview shows, apparently not even in a video. But - they showed scenes from his telenovelas, but none of the scenes included Adela in Amor Real. Does she not give permission? Or do they refuse to show her scenes because she doesn't do interview shows?

Thanks for pinch-hitting! I was disgusted with the boots on the bed, who brought this girl up?

The closed-caption have been wrecked in my neck of the woods for weeks now, so I'll be recapping without a net tonight.

Novelera - I have noticed that certain Televisa actors don't seem to exist on the Cristina show. I assume that it has something to do with the bad relationship between Televisa and Univision, but I don't really know.

Novelera...I heard from someone who participates in a forum on Colunga and who heard from fans who attended the show that there was an homage by Adele Noriega but it was edited out of the TV show. However the studio audience saw it. Don't know....Evidently a lot was edited out so they could get in all those ads. The actual telenovela episode are only 30 minutes long...so thirty minutes of advertisements really adds up and cuts into a program like Cristina. (at least we're still learning Spanish with the ads. When I first started "McDonald's Me Encanta" was the only thing I understood)

Thanks, Judy. I feel better that there wasn't some issue with Adela. It's certainly odd that they would include Thalia in the broadcast version but not Adela. I believe Amor Real was widely considered one of the best telenovelas ever and Adela is (was) supposedly the queen of telenovelas.

What I meant about Thalia is that her role with Fer, Maria la del Barrio, was a long time ago and Amor Real much more recent.

You are SO right about the commercials. I watch everything on a DVR, so skip all of them.

Hi, I am just checking in as I sit under a palapa that has wireless connection. I downloaded the last few days of episodes so I can read them from my laptop in bed at night. I am so impressed by all the new recappers. What fabulous people populate this blog.

For any of you who remember Destilando Amor from last year, I will be passing through Tequila on my way from Puerto Vallarta to Guanajuato tomorrow. So of course I plan to stop off to photograph some agave fields and look around for shadows of Yáñez and crew. I have watched a few episodes of Colunga's new TN, I miss the long hair and romantic shirts but it looks interesting. I have to catch up, I haven't read the recaps from Monday so thanks in advance to K Rosca. I know it will be a treat to read. Adios. Life here is devine after a week with 3 more to go.
