Fuego: Where Are They Now?

Hello, Fuego fans -

It just occurred to me that over the course of this tediously extended novela many characters have been abandoned by the wayside, perhaps because the actors had better gigs to go to. Has anybody been keeping track of the departed? Since I stopped watching for months and months, I didn't see what happened to, for instance:
  • Rosario died, right? But what happened to her son? To her strange mother?
  • Don Augustin got "married" and moved away? Never to be seen again?
  • Tweedledum and Tweedledee - no interest in their poor sister Root? Where are they?
  • The Babe Doctor and her daddy doctor - nu?
  • I haven't seen Pablito for a long time - he didn't get offed, did he?
  • The donkey! Does Padre Bouffy have a car now? How is he getting around?
Are there any more? Where's Sylvia and her spreadsheet? Are they going to show up in a gigantic wad in the finale?

We could also use a death count. Anybody game to tally up the players?

Comments:
- Rosario's son Luisito and Ofelia left town. Rosario was supposed to have joined them but she died before she could leave.

- we are hoping that Don Agustin and Santita vda de etc, etc, etc, will come back and save the day.

- Tweedledum ran away with his Gay lover and business manager. Tweedledee also left town shortly after they lost the hacienda and catching his Aunt Raquel having an affair with Fernando. Ruth is their cousin not their sister.

- Doctora Leonora'Hotbabe' Castaneda and her father Nestor are presumably still in Las Barancas with sylvester helping people get better.

- Pablito istill around. He was just helping Quintina and those stupid spinsters with Quintina's modelling cum male exploitation project.

- I remember seeing that donkey a few episodes ago. Perhaps we will see that donkey again.

- Pedro Left town. Return is unknown.

- Jefe is still incarcerated.

- Maracuya left town never to comeback. Presumably on tour in the Caribbean. (She is probably the girl I like the least. But will not kick her out of the bed. ;) )

- Mariachi is MIA.

Death count score:

Ricardo Uribe's victims are:
1) Juan Jose Reyes
2) Maria Libia Robles-Reyes
3) Raquel Uribe

Fernando Escandon's Victims are:

1)Bernardo Elizondo
2)Libia Reyes
3)Petra the old hag
5)Anselmo Cruz
4)Mapache
6)Right Armando
7)Rosario Montez
8)Doctor 'Matanasos' Gomez

That's it so far. Unless it increases...

"Disappointed," I have deleted your complaint. This site is a free site, my recappers do what they do for free, and I don't tell them how to do it. Every one of them has a personal style. If you don't like what you see, don't read.

Nick, I am driving again today between Puebla and Oaxaca and have loved keeping up with the episodes through all the sterling recaps. Way to go buddy! You are a fabulous writer already in your young career and as we have already established you may have inherited some of that snark side of your wit from your CyberMom. I appreciate your efforts while you are juggling school and so many other things. I hope MamaMelinama zaps the comment just before mine. You should absolutely keep writing and translating.

I will be out of range after breakfast but will be in touch if I have internet links in Oaxaca. Be of good cheer! Keep on Snarkin'.

Oh and to add to Ibarramedia's list: the donkey actually has a name: Platero. Some may recall the book "Platero y Yo" which you could find some wiki info here: http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Platero_y_yo. Also do we know if Ricardo Uribe had anything to do with the death of Feo Fernando's parents? He had something to do with their economic collapse but I don't think that was very clear or clear yet.

My cameras are juiced up with memory cards reset so I hope the volcanos are visible today. Wish me luck.

To the disappointed reader, may I say: There are no shoulds and shouldn'ts here except for common courtesy and enthusiasm. This site is a gift to us, the readers, and if you don't enjoy it, why suffer? You are free to go elsewhere.

And I wonder what happened to Dancing with the Stars hot guy who was sooo in love with Sofi ???

Yeah, Susanlynn, him too! What a bunch of abandoned characters! Oh, yeah, and Rubberlips!

Dear Disappointed/Anonymous: buena suerte, adios. We don't owe you anything.

Hey, Cheryl! I am so happy for you and everything you're doing; talking to celebrities, climbing volcanoes, writing children's books! This all has to be a dream come true! It's inspiring to see someone so dedicated to learning a language and then, as a sort of climactic point in the learning process, apply what is a culmination of that work to a life-altering experience! I'd like to think that I, too, will be able to go on similar adventures in the future! I hope that you read this while in Mexico, and here's to a most excellent remainder of a fabulous trip--I can't wait to hear your stories!

Your friend,

Nickster

Are those spies out again...?

Melinama~~~I think that Rubberlips was Hot Doc...or was there another Collogen-enhanced Cutie ???

No, I was referring to Unibrow/Rubberlips from the other novela, who was somebody's long-lost father - oh yeah, that cousin who's also disappeared! What happened to both of them?

Unibrow/Rubberlips is El Jefe. He's cousin Pedro's dad, brother of Juan & Co's mother. He's in jail. Pedro went to wherever the guy's in jail so that he can hang out there every day and keep his papi company.

Ibarramedia, I don't know if you've been keeping a running list all along or if you just pulled that off the top of your head, but I'm impressed!

Cheryl - I hope you get to see the volcanos today. I love seeing Popocatepetl and Ixtacihuatl whenever I'm in Mexico City. I'll be going back again February 18 for a few days to visit my MIL and for my husband's niece's quinceañera. I would love to see El Popo poof out a puff of smoke one of these days - it always seems to happy 2 days after I've left!

Ooops, I meant "happen" 2 days after I left.

Julie, I did do those from the top of my head. At 2:30 am I was very sleepy. No need for sleepy time tea. :) So I messed a few details.

- Damian Ferrer left for some more Bullfighting where the prizes are high. Presumably Chile or Spain.

- Eladio and Natalia left for the US. I think they sent Hortensia and Rigo a letter saying they had a kid.

- Bruno is the gay lover/Business manager I mentioned earlier.

A little question about Libia, Does she have asian blood in her? She looks like she has some asian features on her. Saw a scene or two from Cuidado when surfing....

I meant to say missed a few details. I have a few typos around some of my comments and did not bother to type the corrections.

I just can't remember who Anselmo Cruz is. I remember Petra, but I think she was someone's mom but can't remember who.

Anselmo Cruz was Rosario's husband or boyfriend. He got out of jail, found out Luisito wasn't his, and got killed. He was only around for a week or so. I don't remember if there was any significance to this storyline whatsoever!

Oh and Petra was the mean drunk woman who was "caring" for Luisito when Feo was blackmailing Rosario. She threatened to tell on him, so Feo had Mapache kill her.

The Petra actress is now playing a nasty servant on Cuidado. Although I haven't seen that show lately because I've switched to Dona Barbara on Telemundo. Also long-gone is Rosario's nonmom , the singing sensation.

Where is Mr. Ed?

Gosh, I had forgotten half these long-lost characters. They probably all got sucked into the vortex known as Mexidoom. ;-)

And, there were those 3 girls with mall-hair and bad outfits who tried to seduce our tres hermanos, and their father. One of them died of leukemia and the rest presumably live right around the corner. It's funny, but if you live in a small town, don't you run into your neighbors from time to time? And it's also funny that I can't for the life of me remember their names.

More Deaths will be coming.. after all we have a few villians running amuck

I loved the great make up job on Raquel--she really did look dead!
Hopefully they will pry the snake head from her hand and realize that it is from Ricardo's Jacket!
Nancy in T

I think one of the three girls was named Paulina, or they called her La Pau. I can't remember the dead one's name or the other one.

And there were those two guys who were nosing around Jimena and Sarita. I've already forgotten their names also.

Juliana died. The other guy is Gonzalo.

Ibarramedia

I think the blonde was Elena.

Ibarramedia, you are going to be our go-to guy from now on when we need dead body advice! That was quite some run-down on the state of Raquel's -- or anyone elses' -- corpse!

Hola Amigos, Here I am in beautiful Oaxaca. I could not see either Popocatepetl or Ixtacihuatl but I did see a more pointy snow draped volcano to the east as I passed south from Pueblo about half way. The land was mountainous and varied, wish I had a geologist and a botonist in the back seat to tell me more about the beauty I was seeing.

Thanks Nick, I am having a life altering experience, once again, every trip tends to be that for me. I had a spirit cleansing moment with a handsome indigenous man in front of the museum of anthropology on Sunday, and will attend a goddesses of Mexico class tomorrow as a guest (don't know if it is how to become one or how to recognize them) after market in Oaxaca and before climbing Monte Alban. Pretty much a mind altering experience all without harmful substances (except the incense smoke that cutie was blowing in my face) pictures to follow...

I happened to love the color combination of Raquel's electric red wig and the neon green face powder. Just the kind of thing I would love to photograph. And I am so glad this group is putting the fine list together from the hoards of characters that have trotted in and out, two and four legged. Willa would like to remind you all of that wonderful setter (or whatever he was) that Damien had. Willa actually got upped and sniffed and licked at the screen when he was on. Glad I don't have plasma yet, does anyone know if dog spit can dissolve plasma screens? Maybe I better not get one.
