Cuidado con el Angel, Febuary 11, 2009
We start off with Omar questioning Marichuy if another man is the reason why she left. Amador walks in and Omar thinks that he is the reason. He suddenly pushes Amador against the wall.
Ceci tells Estephania that if she had to choose between Patricio and Marichuy she would choose Marichuy.
Marichuy tries to break up Omar and Amador. He questions Amador, but he refuses to answer. Marichuy asks Omar to leave.
JM and Eduardo are in the car and are talking about Marichuy and Omar. Eduardo tells him that he needs to tell Omar the truth.
Omar leaves Marichuy’s home. Marichuy tells Amador that she has to find another place to live.
Eduardo tells JM to forget about Marichuy. JM says he cannot.
Cande and Olga come back and tell Marichuy and Amador that Omar left. Amador says he is not scared of him. Cande and Olga go check on the baby and Amador asks Marichuy why Omar came to see her. She tells him that he wanted to find out why she left him. Amador comments that Omar thinks that there is something between them and tells Marichuy to let him go on believing that.
Omar goes to JM and tells him that he just came back from seeing Marichuy at her apartment. JM says “And?” Omar tells him that he will be packing up his stuff and going back to the hacienda. “What happened” questions JM. Omar tells him that he was disillusioned and that Marichuy is living with Amador.
PA asks Marichuy what she is going to do now. She tells him that she does not know and that JM came to the apartment also. PA asks her what she said about the baby and she confesses that she told JM that the baby was dead.
Omar is still going on about Marichuy and why she was not honest with him. He tells JM that Amador walked in with his own key. He say Amador when he first started looking for her and he told him that he did not know where she was. He was so angry he wanted to break his face. But Marichuy got in the middle and he had to calm down after seeing the anguish in her face. How could she have returned to him? Although he is the father of her baby. Unless she was thinking about the baby and what was best for him. JM says the baby died right? Omar tells him that the baby is alive.
PA chastise Marichuy for saying such an ugly lie. She defends her actions by saying that she fears JM taking her baby away from her. The baby is hers and hers alone. PA asks her what happened between her and Omar. Have you told him the truth? Marichuy tells PA that she does not want to hurt him more. PA tells her that Omar will eventually find out and he should know the truth. She reminds PA that JM has also not told him the truth either. Omar will be returning to the hacienda soon and I will never see him again.
JM asks Omar if he is certain that the baby is still alive. Omar says of course. Why do you think otherwise? JM says that they never saw the baby. Omar assures him that the baby is fine he was born strong and healthy. JM is happy and goes to find out the truth.
Marichuy has finished her performance and is greeted by Vicente, Rocio and Becky at the theater. She invites them to her dressing room and they compliment her on being a fine actress. Rocio breaks the news that she and Vicente are going to get married.
Omar reminisces about his argument with Amador at Marichuy’s apartment. He decides that he will not leave and will fight for Marichuy.
Becky wants to know why Marichuy will not tell them where she lives. Marichuy tells them soon they will have a chance to come and visit her. Vicente invites her for drinks to celebrate, but she declines. Marichuy tells Olga that she worries if they find out about the baby they will tell JM.
Cande is dozing off when the doorbell rings. She gets up to answer it and it’s JM who storms in. Cande tells him to leave but JM wants to see the baby. He walks into the bedroom and sees his baby. He smiles and touches the baby. Marichuy comes home and Cande tells her that JM is with the baby. Marichuy asks JM what he is doing here. JM says that you told me that the baby was dead. Marichuy repeats that she wants nothing to do with him. JM tells her that he knows and doesn’t want her to repeat it again. Marichuy tells him that there are finished, it has been more than a year. JM tells her that there are things between them even if not love. It’s there baby. JM wants to know if the reason why she left was to hide his baby from him. And why were you going to marry Omar? To have him raise my child? Marichuy tells him that the baby does not need anyone, but her. Olga gets onto Cande for not asking who was at the door before opening it. Olga insists that they will not let JM take the baby from the apartment. Marichuy and JM continue arguing. He wants to take care of his child. Marichuy tells him that the baby has her and she will take care of him. They continue arguing and Marichuy yells out that the baby is not his and tells him to leave. JM wants to clarify what she meant by that. She tells him that the baby’s daddy is Amador. Olga and Cande arm themselves with objects from the house to hurt JM if he takes the baby away. JM calls Marichuy a liar. You wanted a divorce so that you can be with Amador. I know all about it. He visited you at the hacienda. And now you are living at his apartment. You are a loose woman. Marichuy slaps JM and he leaves. Olga and Cande are ready to fight, but JM pays them no mind and leaves. Olga and Cande run into the bedroom wondering what happened between them. Marichuy tells them that she slapped him. Why asks Olga. Because he insulted him. And I told him that the baby’s daddy is Amador. Cande tells her that you should not have said that. Now he thinks that you are a bad woman. Cande is not in agreement with her lie. Marichuy defends herself that it was the only way she can keep her child.
JM walks into his house encountering Rocio who is waiting up to talk to him. She tells him that she, Becky and Vicente went to see Marichuy at the theater and how wonderful she was. She mentions Amador and JM bursts out that she is not to mention Marichuy or Amador and leaves.
The attorney goes to speak with Blanca and wonders how she feels up to testifying.
Onelia’s attorney informs her that Eduardo will be testifying today. She wonders what for. He had nothing to do with all this.
Marichuy is talking to JM, Jr. and wonders why she told JM that he was not his father. She swears to him that he will always be with her.
JM and Eduardo walk in and are met my Onelia and her attorney. She makes rude remarks walks off. JM and Eduardo continue into the living room. JM tells Eduardo that he cannot take more of this. Eduardo tells him not to pay any mind to what Onelia said and to tell her to leave. JM responds by saying the only way she will leave is by force.
Estephania tells Patricio that she had a talk with Ceci and that she does not blame Marichuy for the accident. Estephania tells him that Ceci will not rest until she has Marichuy. Patricio tells her that Ceci will have to decide between him and Marichuy. Estephania informs him to be careful, because Ceci will choose Marichuy. (Witch!!!)
Omar goes to JM to talk. JM wants to know why Omar did not go back to the hacienda.
Patricio asks Estephania why she said that. She tells him that it was Ceci who told her. Patricio says she will not leave him. They have loved each other for years. Estephania asks him not to tell Ceci what she said.
At the trial Eduardo comes in to testify. Blanca wonders what he is doing there and how he can testify in her defense. Eduardo drops the bomb and tells the court that Viv was not pregnant when she was murdered.
Omar tells JM that he does not want to go back to the hacienda with Lirio (Marichuy). Omar tells JM about everyday life at the hacienda with her. How they took long walks, went to the river, and there talks. JM tells Omar to quit talking about her. Omar asks why? JM tells him that if the truth will make you forget her then I will tell you.
Tomorrow: Will JM tell the truth to Omar about Marichuy/Lirio?

I hope this is a turning point, with everyone finally telling Marichuy to stop lying rather than enabling her. I hate how she doesn't grasp that she's doing exactly the same thing to Juan Miguel that she most fears him doing to her--keeping his child away from him. Why does she think it's okay when she does it?
Anyhow, even if he did get custody of the baby (which he wouldn't try to do, I don't think), it's not like Marichuy wouldn't see the kid--she could just move in, too! Any woman can just walk in and live there, no matter how much JM hates her!
I like that my beloved Eduardo is The Voice of Reason. He needs to gather everyone in the parlor and Reveal All so the plot can move forward.

Gloria: Thanks for the recap. I haven't been commenting lately because I've been on a trip and have also gotten somewhat disgusted with the progress this novela has made or not made.
Marichuy seems like a ridiculous character if you haven't seen her in a while. She's supposed to be the protagonist - but, she does really stupid and bad things. She needs redemption, and I hope I can hold out long enough to see it.

I agree, Pasofino. If you are just tuning in Marichuy might seem like one of the villans almost. In my eyes that is how I am starting to see her. She has no regards for anyone else and is turning out to be extremely selfish in the way she treats people. I am not liking her character at all anymore.

Totally agree. While JM was maybe out of line calling her a slut (although that was because of the lie SHE told him), she certainly isn't the same sweet, open, honest girl he fell in love with.
I don't know why she thinks Juan Miguel is her enemy. It wasn't his fault that Viv turned out to not be dead and invalidated their marriage, and given that she left without warning and refused to communicate with him for a year, did she think he wasn't supposed to move on, however stupidly? Whatever their personal communication difficulties, JM has never given her any reason to think he's not an excellent father so it's ridiculous that she wants to keep his son away from him.

Are the writers and producers trying to turn us off this novela? Mari's character transformation is horrible. Why won't JM just be a man and tell his friend who Mari is. People usually become softer and kinder and more understanding of their parents when they give birth, but not our heroine, she must be going through some sort of post-partum depression. She is a real brat now.It is getting depressing.My heart goes out to omar. He is now my favorite.

What an episode! I'm glad I'm not the only one completely vexed by Mari behavior. Between telling JM the baby died and that he's Amador's she's acting just like Vivian and/or Oneila. I really hope Julia is right and people start telling Mari to straighten up and act right.
And thank goodness for Eduardo, the voice of reason and the dropper of a BIG bomb. He was basically is the only sane person on the show currently.

This whole thing with Marichuy is horrible. She IS a villan! At least there is no denying that the apple did not fall far from the tree: She's just like her papa! I thought when I started watching this TN that this heroine was one that could overcome adversity. Now she is her own worst enemy to the tune of PhD level (Piled hip Deep). The way she treats JuanMi is sort of justified (he did dis her when nasty Viv came back when she was trying to tell him about the baby).
Amador is the one that suggested that if JuanMi knew about the baby he would take him away from her. But why in heck should she believe that manipulator? I guess they agree that because of the actriz thing she is bought and paid for.
Omar has truly been played. At the outset of this I NEVER would have believed that MC would do that to anyone - let alone the person who not only took her in, but saved her and her baby's life!

I can somewhat understand Mari’s treatment of JM. I think when someone has been brought up as she was, desperate and poor and parentless, they can see lying as a productive strategy. Since she is so un-worldly and so uneducated she would swallow Amador’s idea that JM could take the baby given that he is a.) rich and b.) a man and c.) a person of high education and standing. On top of this, she thinks JM is a womanizing deceiver, so why not deceive back?
What I can’t understand or forgive is her treatment of Omar, so has been good and straight with her. He’s one of the few characters in this show who never lie.
Meantime, one plus in all this is that William Levy seems to actually wake up and deliver the goods in the angry-JM scenes. So far he’s excelled in the tender-parent scenes and now we can add the angry-guy scenes to his plus list.

I think Mari left Omar's hacienda while he was gone because she thought JM needed her when he was being charged with murder (or whatever) but got upset when she went to his house and horrible Steph said something along the lines of JM was going to marry another woman (Blanca).
I think she is very young and very confused by her feelings for JM. She's is also confused by the whole biological parents wanting contact aspect. I think I'd be clamming up, too, and running straight for survival mode.
Anyway, since I began watching telenovelas to help learn Spanish, I am very proud of myself because I can now even catch words in MC's superfast verbiage!
