El Cuerpo del Deseo, Friday, March. 20 - The end.

Ok, kiddies, this is it. The last episode of Cuerpo.

Salvador is taken to the Donoso house where he seems to have a very reverential attitude to his shoes.

There has been another fight at Gaetana's bar and she loses her license and has to close up shop.

We find out that Rebeca hung her herself in a hotel.

Salvador is a slob and Abigail is horrified at the condition of his room.

He does not want to have a bath.

But he gets one anyway.

When Ángela, Antonio, Simón and Abigail go out to a restaurant to discuss the Salvador situation, they find Valeria playing the piano there.

She and Simón get back together. It is Valeria who realizes what seem perfectly obvious (as Marie Celeste noted) that Salvador is no longer PJ and is the person whose body PJ took over. And that person had a life somewhere else.

Antonio and Simón go to ask Gaetana about Salvador's origins. She didn't even know he was out of the hospital. Apparently, she thought he was in a permanent coma. She sends the guys to Tío Felipe, who is not helpful.

Finally, someone remembers or figures out that Salvador was supposed to have lived in a village called Las Cruces. Antonio asks him and Salvador says that he lives in the country outside the village.

Antonio tells Salvador that they are going to take him home.

Camilo and Lupe say goodbye to Gaetana.
Evaristo comes to make a last effort to win Gaetana. A sad serenata seems to do the trick.

Evaristo braces himself for an attack when Gaetana comes over to him.

But she kisses him instead and says that he isn't bad.

Salvador has a joyous reunion with Cantalicia and Moncho.

Ángela, Antonio and Simón wave goodbye...

and Salvador and his family go off into the sunset. Fin

Thanks, Jean. I haven't watched this novela in awhile. What happened to Isabel ?

She crashed her car on purpose while being chased by the police and died. PJ left Salvador's body so that he and Isabel could be together forever.

Thank you for the photos ...and my friends thank you too...
El Cuerpo del Deseo was rich with everything I love about a story, I'm so glad I found this very cool and exciting actor and these wonderful, though few sites that talk about his work in English...yay!...
I will be catching your La Traicion updates .... they're always lovely too, Jean....
Thank you ....Soulcatgirl ;))

While there really weren't any surprises & it was a long time in coming, I liked this final.

I enjoyed watching Mario as Salvador. The bit with his shoes was hysterical; it cracked me up how his mind worked. In his value system, useless things like books get tossed on the floor, but SHOES!!...get those Bruno Magli's up somewhere safe! Watching him loving the floor rugs with his feet was cute, too.

Speaking of cute, I loved the brief scene with Sal & Angela's baby. That was one of the cutest TN babies I think I've ever seen. Would've liked to have seen more of him...

The Gaetana/Evaristo hookup was predictable, but I thought the actors handled it well & it was fun. I get such a kick out of Jeanette Lehr; I hope to see her in other shows.

So Valeria's found wisdom & happiness at the piano bench at the restaurant. I hope she realizes that even though the crowds may be different every night, she'll need to learn more than her one song. (Of course, one signature song seems to be enough to make it in the Telenovela Land, so perhaps she'll be just fine.) Sal sure had a funny reaction to her. I think she was the first person I ever saw him "shoo" away. Perhaps it was those pajama pants she was wearing. Maybe he thought she was trying to get him into bed. ;-) He did get pretty feisty with Vicky & Abigail later, though. The bath incident was amusing.

As annoying as Valeria is, at least she did come up with the obvious answer to their dilemma: send the poor guy home. All along I was asking myself, "Why does no one talk to Salvador about where he thinks he belongs?!?!?" (There I go again, imposing Real World logic where it doesn't belong!)

Sal again was cute saying his goodbyes, getting hugs from the maids before leaving.... Sweet. (I got a kick out of Padre Jacobo on the bike in Las Cruces; looks like the padre lost a bit of weight since the beginning of the show.) And finally, the happy reunion with Cantalicia & Moncho, Salvador, and his new shoes. I just hope that with the money from PJ, they continue to let Moncho go to school. I wouldn't be surprised if he ends up back in Rio Claro some day, painting naked ladies in Maestro Madero's class.

What a long, strange trip it's been. Thanks again, Jean, for all your hard work, and being our madrina. It's been a long run, but I'm not sure if I'm ready to give Mario up just yet. Thank heavens for YouTube!

Jean, thanks for taking us along on this fun ride.

Finally, the show comes to an end. Everyone gets back to where they belong and all's well that ends well. I don't think Valeria and Simon hooked up though. They still seemed to be in the friends stage.

Thank you so much for all your recaps Jean. I've enjoyed each one of them.

A small request: Would you consider doing recaps of PDG someday? I don't think there's an English translation of that show anywhere on the net (except the latter half of the discussions on this board)

Great pictures for the finale--it was a touching end and I think we are all glad to have Salvador and his family back together--dirty and stinky, but happy. And that is what really matters!

Marie, I too was wondering why they didn't talk to Salvador about where he belongs. It was such a simple solution. I also wondered how those two women got him into the tub!

If anyone hasn't checked my blog, be sure to take a look at the three articles I wrote about our Mario novellas; I posted the last one on Friday about Cuerpo, of course, and the ones right before that are on La Traicion and Pasion de Gavilanes, all with a picture, my favorite video links, and description of the show. So they are all in a row at the top of the blog page. I had fun writing them. My blog is linked on my homepage at www.geocities.com/cindybin46.

It has been fun posting with you ladies and reading the comments (and drooling over Mario together)! Hopefully we will meet up again sometime!

Cindy

Thanks a million Jean for continuing this labor of love and for your recaps. I will miss this group during La Tormenta, but I've fallen way behind on these anyway, so it's probably just as well.

CC - Val and Sim do get together, we see them in a nice little lip-lock in the last episode, so they are definitely in the early stages of a romance.

The only big question mark for me is what happens to Isabel's share of PJ's money? Does Sal get it? Do they just take it off the table since PJs money was in dispute and we know Sal isn't going to court for it?

Other than that, it was a nicely tied up ending, and I was glad to be able to see it. Heck, I cried when Sal went back to his family, and I too hope that the money PJ and Isa sent them eventually gets put to use on Moncho's education.

Does any one know where the shirts and suits that SAL had on the show were from
