MEPS, Thurs., March 12, 2009. Cuidado con el Ed

As I sit here in front of my screen, I wonder if tonight will be the night that my captions go out and that I can’t understand a word said, or, that we’ll have to endure another painful bedroom scene between Priscilla and Anibal. Well, let’s see.

Nanda repeats to Erika that she saw the mystery man again in the shopping mall. He was shopping. They didn’t get a chance to talk because Damian called her – when she looked back, he was gone. Erika said – just as well since you’re about to get married.

Gonzo introduces Ed to Barb – she claims not to know him – he reminds her that they crossed paths in the reception. She says she was distracted. Then Gonzo introduces Damian, the director of finance. We get to admire Ed in his suit, tie and, OK – so his ears stick out a little. Just look at what’s between them.

Jacinto is talking to licenciado Arvizu on behalf of Ed. Jacinto tells the licenciado that Franco Santoro wants to rent the hacienda, “Las Animas.” The licenciado wants two forms of ID and financial references before he’ll rent Las Animas.

Ed is giving the Elizaldes a presentation that illustrates his knowledge of their company, and he states that Power Milk is ready to make them a great offer, e.g., an injection of capital – so that Power Milk can get a foothold in Mexico. Barb is suspicious – she says they aren’t looking for investors.

Jacinto calls Ed on his cell – they go back and forth – Ed pretends to be talking to someone like an investor in terms of two millions of dollars. Jacinto continues – he needs to talk to Ed or Margarita will spill the beans. Ed tells Jacinto he’ll meet him later.

The Elizalde clan are curious about Ed’s work – he tells them that Power Milk is going to rent Las Animas if they make a deal. Anibal is just about out of his chair – they’ll firm things up after his sister’s wedding. Gonzo invites him to the wedding – Ed will accept if Damian doesn’t object. Ed – dear Ed – asks, what’s the name of the bride.

Erika bubbles on about how Camilo has arranged for her to have a gentle horse, etc. – Nanda warns her –Erika says that all women can’t get a man like Damian and Nanda says that Barb helped. And, Barb keeps helping herself.

Lady in supermarket gets a call from her daughter – she goes into a sales pitch for Fermodyl hair color. What the Hell was that all about?

Gonzo and Barb get in the car to head home. Gonzo takes Barb’s hand – she rags on about Anibal making such an important decision by himself. She is still suspicious of Ed. Gonzo says we’re not going to sell our company. Barb says do you think Franco Santoro’s offer is without strings. Anibal, Damian and Ed continue talking – Damian leaves. Anibal is still happy, because he sees that his ass will be saved by Power Milk’s money. Ed reluctantly takes Damian’s hand and tells him he is envious of him. Anibal offers Ed a whiskey, but Ed says tomorrow. Ed is still setting Anibal up, and Anibal says he can consider it a done deal. What a greedy little b*****d.

Jacinto asks Margarita if she went to see her students – Margarita says if you really love me and our marriage – come with me. They shouldn’t keep quiet. He warns her that the hyena’s word can follow them wherever they go. But, Nanda doesn’t know that Soledad is dead, and Margarita wants to pass it on.

Barb is talking to “Doctor Obregon” on her cell in the car and pretends to cry. Gonzo wants to know what’s going on. She says this is the last time they can suspend Lili’s treatment because it resulted in such a terrible crisis. Both of them are crying. Barb says it is so painful. Liar, liar, pants on fire. The driver just shakes his head. (Ed. He knows too much. How long do you think he’ll be around?) Nanda is insisting that they take Lili out of the asylum so that she can attend the wedding. Clever Barb has thought of every which way to manipulate Gonzo. She doesn’t want to risk having Lili at the wedding because if anything goes wrong, her plans goes down the toilet.

Dr. Obregon is getting ready to give Lili a shot but he tortures her a little bit first. He wants to know what she said yesterday – just one little word – this injection will make you talk – what did you say to your sister.

Jacinto is trying to convince Margarita to stay and keep quiet. Margarita says to Jacinto – if you’re sincere, come with me. Come with me or I go alone.

Dr. Obregon gives Lili a drink – he keeps at her – tell me, I’ll keep it a secret. And when you are dead from your fantasies he warns her, you’ll tell me the truth. She says the pawn is moving. He doesn’t understand. She shows him the white pawn. He throws it on the floor. She says the pawn will get the queen. This isn’t what he wants to hear.

Nanda makes another grand entrance down the staircase. The wedding planner is still changing things, like where the dance floor will be located. OH, fiddle dee dee. Decisions, decisions. In runs Gardenia and tells Gonzo, Barb and Nanda that Margarita wants to see Nanda. Gardenia doesn’t have enough common sense to talk to Nanda alone. Barbara throws a mean look, like she smells a rat. Jacinto and Margarita are in the kitchen. Margarita says she’s going to tell Nanda everything that is happening. Naturally, Barb just happens to hear this conversation. Gardenia warns Margarita that Barb will get them all. Margarita can’t stand it any longer.

In walks Barb with one of those smirk/smiles on her face and wants to know what’s up. They all freeze.
Break time.

Back at the kitchen, Barb tells them Nanda doesn’t know that Sole is dead because the Hyena forbade it. She struts around and tells Gardenia she’s needed in the kitchen and tells Jacinto and Margarita to get lost with their gossip.

Meanwhile Gonzo fills Nanda in about Lili’s crisis and that Lili cannot attend the wedding and that Nanda shouldn’t visit Lili for a while. What a surprise! He’s doing exactly as ordered by Barb. Nanda argues back. He understands – but this is for Lili’s good. In walks Barb, and she’s sorry to interrupt but wants to see Nanda for just a little minute.

At Pueblo “San Rafael” Ed/Franco enters a room with a large statue of Jesus. It just happens to be a church. He begins to pray.

Barb brings Nanda into the kitchen where Gardenia, Jacinto and Margarita are still perplexed. Nanda asks how Nana is doing, and Jacinto says “better.” Nanda wants them to help Sole get dressed for the wedding so that Sole can bless her. She wants to know what they have to say. Nanda tells Margarita that when she returns from her honeymoon, they will all go back to work on the artisan program. Barb looks disgusted. Yikes.

A priest, Father Bosco, enters. He knows Ed and wants to know why Ed is there. He didn’t have any trouble recognizing Ed. How about that? Padre says the heart returns to the place it loves and wants to know about Soledad. Dead, says Ed.

Anibal is talking to Lic Arvizu about Ed.

Father says if you find a diamond in the rough and polish it, it will shine with bravery. What does that mean? (Ed. I must have lost part of this conversation. If anyone knows what went on here, please fill us in.) Ed will not change his mind.

Father Bosco wants to know the details – he feels very bad and is very sorry. Ed says they are going to be more sorry and then he asks for confession.

Jacinto and Margarita are still arguing – Margarita says we’re living in the eye of a hurricane – you want to stay in this place. She says to Hell with the artisan projects.

Lic. Urbizu wants to see Jacinto right away.

Ed confesses that he has been disobedient, hateful and full of rage and that he wants to take vengeance against those who let his mother die of pain and sadness. Father says that vengeance will not bring her back. Ed says it will help her rest in peace.

Padre says this is an act of confession – locked in his head. And the confession ends. Father has forgiven him, and he tells Ed he hopes he isn’t going to do what he has just said he’ll do. Ed wants to know what is vengeance and what is justice. God gives justice says the padre, and men seek vengeance.

At the blacksmith’s place, Silvestre is eating dinner with his daughter (Martina) the mud wrestler/ nurse. The food is so good and he is enjoying it so much. He’s happy where he is. He makes a reference to “Calixto”. (Was he referring to the red hot lovers Calixto and Melibea?) Margarita is just giving back to him all that he has given to her. He says that when you’re old, you get sentimental. I don’t get this scene. We know he’ll find out about her sooner or later.

Augustine is calling his wife, Dolores, who demands to be called Dolly because Dolly is a more chic name. He’s looking for their daughter, Erika, who is in her room. He wants to go to Madrid with Dolly – to a big meeting – she agrees after he dangles a visit to Paris in front of her. I guess they won’t be able to go to the wedding.

Augustine goes into Erika’s room – he tells her she looks beautiful. He likes her hair. He warns her about Camilo. He tells her he and Dolly are going to Spain. He asks Erika to send their regrets to Nanda. They’ll be back in a week, and he’ll bring her a pretty gift.

At the Cantina, Las Copetonas, the girls are talking about their lives, and times are tough for Martina and if Dad knew she was a mud wrestler he’d die. Her friend will loan her money for rent. Nice friend. She wasn’t so nice in Guapos.

At the church, Father Bosco lights a candle.

Jacinto is at the café and Martina sits down and asks him what’s up. She wants to know who he was with yesterday. How is Silvestre (her father). He burned his hands a month ago – he’s not well. In walks Ed/Franco – Martina sizes him up and leaves. Jacinto tells Ed about Silvestre’s accident. Ed remembers Margarita as a pretty little girl, and now she entertains drunks. Ed hands Jacinto a wad of bills. Ed tells Jacinto that he’s working for him. Jacinto tells him that the situation is difficult – Margarita wants to tell Nanda everything. Jacinto is between a rock and a hard place. Margarita wants to move far away. Jacinto slides Ed something across the table – it’s the keys to “Las Animas”.

Nanda is looking at a picture of Damian on her laptop when her alter ego appears. They argue with each other. Nanda is the emotional person – her alter ego is the analytical person. The alter ego wants to know why she’s marrying Damian. Nanda says for love, of course, or I wouldn’t marry him. But, she looks unsure.

Jacinto tells Ed that the licenciado made a list of demands that had to be met before he would rent Las Animas. Ed doesn’t understand. Jacinto relates that the licenciado called Anibal Elizalde himself. Ed laughs. He didn’t think Anibal would fall so easy. Ed tells Jacinto he met with Anibal this very morning, and that he was invited to Fernanda’s wedding. Ed tells Jacinto that he will destroy the “patrimonio” of Fernanda Elizalde. Chills don't run down my spine. (Ed. He used the word “patrimonio” which can mean wealth, net worth, possessions.)

Avances: The wedding preparations continue.

Hi Pasofino...haven't watched this yet but have been a little dismayed recently by the change Colunga's new haircut made. He looks like a pissed off leprecaun with those ears. Of course the rest of the face and the awesome bod are still there, but too well covered up by that suit.

Loved your "fiddle de dee" per the wedding plans. Indeed.

Thanks for the recap Pasofino. I sure would be getting sick of Margarita giving me an ultimatum. Bye, see ya! So when you we think Nanda will learn about Soledad if ever? Is there a YouTube link for the shower/towel scene. There might have been one yesterday but I don't remember.

My son will be home in 2 weeks! Woo hoo! Then he gets shipped out to Afghanistan. Not so woo hoo.

Sorry it's too early for typing. "When do we" not "when you we." :-}

Thanks, Pasofino. HA...''so his ears stick out a little..just look at what's between them.'' Excellent advice. I agree that Fernando looks better with longer hair, but he still looks muy guaypo...ears and all. Marg is irritating. Poor Jacinta. He has to live with that scowl . I'll bet he enjoys his days spent with the happy horses. Having to deal with cam-ILLO, Barbed, and Marg all day...the guy deserves a medal.

pasofino - thank you for the recap. My phone rang right after Ed's confession, and I missed the rest of the show. Did your CC's hold up? I lost sound and CCs and had to switch to Looneyvision's digital channel (my TV has a built-in tuner) but that gives no CCs. Grrr.....

pasofino - forgot to mention that I love your title for this recap! LOL

Connie: I don't have a link - but it should be in chapter 13 or near that on YouTube. Has Fernando ever changed since Alborada. I'm running to the gym.

Doris: I had captions last night, yeah!

Gracias, Pasofino & a belated thanks to this week's recappers. I don't use cc's but truth be told, I still don't think I could keep up w/ the dialogue so a heartfelt thanks to one & all.

Marg is quite the harpy. Poor Jacinto...hope he can hold it all together.

Am I the only one slightly annoyed by Nanda? She seems shallow & self-centered.

FrEd: OMG, he is SO fine. Not a huge fan of the new haircut (it's a little severe & over-gelled) but when he smiles that 100 watt grin, who's looking at his hair? And the shower scene? mmmmmmmmmm....

TGIF!!!!!!!!!!!
Maggarita
:-)

Pasofino... Thanks for the fine recap.

I think that Marg looks like Frieda Kahlo (scowl and all) and expect her to show up with a monkey on her shoulder.

rsk

I think Barb is disturbed because her goal is backing away from her. (I'm pleased.) and she doesn't like having the uninvited coming into her lower kingdom. (I'm gleeful.)

Thank you Pasofino. So often I read your recap and think 'oh, that's what they meant'. Could not do without you.

Connie....thanks for that picture of your very brave son. I can't imagine how it must feel to have one's child in those situations, but just know our thoughts, our hearts and our prayers will be with you and him all the time he's there. Please continue to keep us posted.

Pasofino, a great recap. Everyone seems to be enjoying this(well, except for a few scattered quibbles about a haircut; really Judy,a pissed off leprechaun?). I absolutely love the frequent effective use of tight closeups of faces impactados. The Carol Burnett show captured this TN device so well in it's parodies.

OK, now for my gripe. Let's get Lil out of the nuthouse already before that cretin Dr. O does some real harm. I'm about ready to spring for FREE LILI tee shirts for everyone.

Pasofino, by chance are the beautiful horses featured Pasofinos? I absolutely love watching that breed perform.

More mud wrestling please! (Just in case the Univision folks are looking in. Congratulations Melinama and recappers.)

Carlos

Thanks Judy B. I'll need all the support I can get.

Connie, you must be very proud to have such a handsome and clearly brave son. May God watch over and protect him and may he return safely.

Carlos

Thanks Carlos. I am very proud of him. You wouldn't belive all the people that want to shake his hand and give him hugs when we go to the store etc. People come up and thank him.

Thanks, Pasofino, for an excellent recap.

The woman in the store looking at haircolor was Dolly, Erika's mom. But that product placement was a bit obvious. I think they had another right after for orange juice or something.

I think Father Bosco's comment about a diamond in the rough referred to Ed, who was originally rough, but has been polished by his Ivy League schooling. The Father didn't want Ed to throw away the advantages he's been given by stooping to revenge.

So many times in novelas, we see the bad guys with all their schemes, faking their way into something, and the good guys are all earnest and honest. I'm enjoying Franco/Ed talking his way into the family's graces so fast that his problems renting the farm were solved by one call from his new "buddy" Anibal.

Carlos: I too am rooting for Liliana to get out of the asylum, but I feel as if it won't be for a while. She's not essential yet. If Franco gets all established, but then something goes wrong down the line, it would be more dramatic to have Lili somehow save the day at that point.

This comment has been removed by the author.

Thanks so much for the recap Pasofino. I never ceased to be amazed at how I can go from understanding a scene completely to being completely clueless...what would I do without you recappers?

It will be interesting to see how Anibal behaves toward Eduardo at the wedding. He may be happy Ed is saving him from ruin but I starting to run with Julie's theory about Ani's preferences; Ani seemed excited about Ed in the same way I'm excited about Ed.

I'm glad Gardenia didn't spill the beans to Barb but why did she tell Fernanda her sister had to see her in front of Barb (one step forward, two back).

Carlos - I'm with you on the Free Lilly t-shirts.

Connie - Thankfully there are young men like your son who serve their country.

Judy - We have another place in common. When did you live in Bryn Mawr? My parents live in Radnor and have since 1982.

Thanks for the great recap!

That whole hair color thing was ridiculous. Aside from being totally obvious and irrelevant to the story, Erika goes to a salon and probably pays top dollar to have the stylist slap it on her head and gush over her, but then her mother is in the grocery store and buys a box off the shelf???? What's up with that?

But, I will admit that I am intrigued, and the next time I go to Mexico I will be checking out Fermodyl to see if it will make my hair more luminoso! I'm a sucker!

MEPS is lightyears better than FELS...so far.

OT request. I know several ESL teachers frequent this board. I'm tutoring a 6th grader who's been in the US 3 weeks. He knows Hello, Thank you, numbers 1-10, and nothing else. But he's sweeter than a puppy!

Can anyone point me to a web site with simple vocabulary reproducibles? Ideally, something like a sheet of paper with six pictures of school supplies, with the word for each, underneath. Or six pictures of body parts. or farm animals. etc. So he can study
CAT = (picture of cat) instead of
CAT = gato.

That's the ideal. But anything in that realm will work. It just has to be something I can easily print out because he doesn't have any computer access. Please e-mail me if you don't mind, paulah88@hotmail.com , so as not to disturb the board any more than I have. Mil gracias.

I kind of miss the perpetual full moon of FELS. Do we have any full moons in this parallel universe? I want a t-shirt too.

Regarding Colunga's ears. Achilles had his heel. Superman had krypton. St. Paul had his speech impediment. Destiny does not permit mortals to be perfect. I think the ears are proof of Colunga's near-perfection! When you are TBLMOE, you must be given some disadvantage, because perfection is not permitted!

"Dead, says Ed" made me think of Suess! LOL!

The link, of course I know that! Let me share. It comes up about 7:12 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pD8ELplwodU&feature=related

It is really one ear, but really, an imperfection makes him more wonderful.

A thought from the other night. They blurred out Damian's tattoo on his back, why not just cover it with makeup? Anyone know what it is?

Connie, great pic of your son. I will keep him in my prayers.

Karen, we lived in Bryn Mawr from the Fall of '70 to Fall of '73. My husband was teaching at the Wharton School of Business. I couldn't find a job teaching college French there so ended up working for a newspaper. Turned out to be a lot of fun and quite a supplement to my liberal education. Our first child was born in '72 and we moved to Columbus and Ohio State. A better place to raise children and our families both live in the Midwest.

Paula H., there is a cute ESL website with great illustrations for basic words in Spanish and English called: Mrs. Jones-Spanish and English words or you can go directly to: www.mrsjonesroom.com/spanish/menu.html Hope this helps. GinCA

Connie: may your son return to you safely after his next assignment. I can only imagine how much you must worry.

Maggarita

everyday i come into my office and read the recaps and the comments... i am a silent observer and truly enjoy this whole board of interesting people and comments....just wanted to say keep up the good work and god bless....son going to afganistan.
ED. ears and all can leave his shoes under my bed anytime....beverly

Well, I had several theories about Anibal's preferences, but it could just be that he prefers blondes. All I know is that he'd better find a way to make Pris happy soon.

He did seem pretty excited about Eduardo, but not half as excited as Gonzo was. :-)

Who came up with AnyBalls for Anibal's nickname? Quite apropos!

Maggarita

Just got a chance to read the comments. Connie~~~I am sending out good vibrations for your son. Karen~~HA..Loved your comment about the similarity of Anibal's and your excitement about FrEd. Carlos~~I like the Free Lily t-shirt ides. It will show our solidarity. Paula~~I teach adults ESL, but there are millions of sites . You might try typing in not only ESL worksheets but also Elementary Education sites in general. Also kids' coloring books might be a good resource. Also you could cut out pictures of objects from magazines and print the word so that he can see the picture and then repeat the word after you . ...or you could use real objects [coat, hat, chair, etc] It's helpful to have a notebook that you can write in when you're with him and then send along with him. Maybe you could page through a magazine together and have him cut out different pictures, paste them in his notebook and label.

I think Ani was just overly joyed to have somebody save his feet from the fire. Any life boat.
I'm not rushing Lili out. Look at the skill she just learned to avoid the needle, play crazy. (I haven't done that yet to get out of a meeting that was driving me crazy, but I have played paper cut.You say ooops just loud enough for the nearby and lift your finger to your lips as you rise making sucking sounds and examining surfaces for drips. ;-) )

Thank you Pasofino! Connie, what a fine young man, I pray for his safety as well.

Anyballs, huh? HAHAHAHAHHA! That's great!

I couldn't believe it when Gardenia interrupted and blurted out with EvilBitchonwheels right there that her sister wanted to see Fernanda! Sheesh! I don't think she's going to survive this. You'd think after Babs threatened her about revealing Sole's death, she woulda realized what a piece of evil work this heffa is...

Yeah, the built-in commercials are pretty funny. I guess they want us to know that this fine salon product is available at the local grocer. . .by the way, Dolly is Yolanda, Octavia's sister from the wacky Acorralada.

rsk: I think Margarita would look good with a monkey on her shoulder.

bonney churros: Good oint about Barb the sociopath.

Hombre de Misterio: Thanks for clerifying. I recap as the story happens and sometimes I blink, sneeze or cough and miss the point.

PaulaH: Tu eres muy noble.

Khalilah: I don't think anyone who knows too much about Barb will survive for long.

Carlos: I do not believe the horses are Pasofinos.

Tell me if I have this wrong, but I thought Anibal invited Fr/ed to the wedding & Gonzo concurred.

I think Erika's mom in the supermercado was just a way to introduce the character & will probably play an important part, maybe thinking fr/ed is so fine, he might be right for Erika.

Fr/ed's ears stick out for good reason, don't you think? And as someone said, who wants a perfect man, just calls attention to our imperfections.

I've noticed that it's always half moon on this show, I guess the next one will be an eclipse for the entire TN.

I agree that Padre Bosco meant that Fr/ed came from nothing & has become quite a man of accomplishment. Doesn't he owe something to Gonzo for that?

Thanks for the recap - I don't usually miss the show, but I was on a panel last night and was definitely wondering on my way home what had happened.

One thing I'd like to understand pretty soon: why did Barb and her handler feel they had to wait 15 years to start to exact this revenge? Couldn't she have embezzled all the money long ago and beat it? Also, do we have any idea yet what hold Barb and her handler have over Damian? Why is he participating in the ruin of the Elizaldes? Is there any hint of what his grudge is against them?

Renee it does seem odd that it has taken 15 years. And Barb doesn't seem like she dislikes the guy calling the shots. Could he be a dad or family maybe? Some big payback?

Renee: We don't know what Barb has on Damian. But, we do know that he's a good looking, stuck-up moneygrubber.

The 15-year wait does not yet have an answer either. But, in the meantime, Barb has done a pretty good job of ruining Anibal, Camilo and Lili.

The 15 year wait was because we had to wait for Eduardito to grow up to be Fernando Colunga.

And pobre Liliana, wouldn't her brain be fried by now?

I was completely lost with the meeting with Babs, Marg, Jacinto & Gardenia, tks for clearing that up.

Pasofino, thanks for a great recap! I just got in and what a lot of comments!

Not last night, but the night before, we had a commercial break and I saw our good Doctor Plutarco Obregón hawking "Honey Bunchs of Oats". Is this guy versatile? You bet!

"The driver just shakes his head." I thought he was smirking, actually, and it made me wonder "which side is he on?"

You got me on "OH, fiddle dee dee. Decisions, decisions." Me & Judy B and everybody else. S-o-o Fernanda! I think they are playing up her carefree girlishness in anticipation of the drama ahead. I'm actually liking this character more.

Paula H.: "Regarding Colunga's ears." Well, take a look at our old buddy Sarita from FELS. Same same. She was stunning, but for those weird ears, and they had her hair pulled back so tight in every episode. Weird ears notwithstanding, Fernando's my first telenovela love.

True. Barb has not been a good influence on anyone. I guess in Telenovela revenge land, it's not too much of a stretch to spend 15 years of your life pretending to love a bunch of people you really hate (and even sleeping with one of them!). Living in a luxurious mansion with lots of peons to crush must make it worth the sacrifice!

I should add, this IS novela land, where all things are possible. It's up to the writers, maybe their minds aren't always as logical as ours are, at times.

Maybe Cigarman waited till all the kids were grown up so that they could each be tricked into having a hand in the family's eventual downfall. Thus giving Gonzo even greater heartbreak.

It's farfetched, but at least we won't have to watch a lot of cute little kids crying their eyes out!

Yes, the revenge on adults is easier for us to stomach. I don't think revenge on kids would have hurt a pair who sent a 15-year-old away to have her brain fried for life, and sent a 10-year-old kid away from his mother essentially forever as well. Anyway, the plot does seem to be moving along nicely know, so I guess I'll be patient and see what reveals itself (which I hope won't be any more of Camilo!).

Thank you for the recap, Pasofino.
Judy B - LOL mucho :"he looks like a pissed off leprechaun". That's hilarious, and I agree 100% with that assessment.! Sorry, Colunga fans.

If Lily were to be free tomorrow, she'd have a long road back to normalcy, since she's been drugged and imprisoned for so long. That storyline makes my stomach turn.

Why Barbara did take such a quick and intense dislike to FrEd? Was it her instinct that he's not what he pretends, or is it just her warm and trusting personality?

On to tonight and trying to aguantar the ever chipper and kinda dense Fernanda.

For the person looking for sites to teach foreign children
I just did a search on
english learning sites for children
& came up with a bunch

This is the 1st site I found for children learning English & it's looks pretty good

http://www.starfall.com/

"I've noticed that it's always half moon on this show, I guess the next one will be an eclipse for the entire TN," LOL Variopinta.

Agnes in NJ, I too noticed the driver was amiling/smirking at Babs performance of being so upset over Lili's crisis. He is brown-nosing snitcher and seems to know a lot, or at least enough to be a stooge.

Anya, I think she has a bitch-sense and may feel a recognition of Fr/ed deep down. Oh, well, here come's tonights ep.

Khalilah

I think Babs dislikes Fr/Ed mainly because he showed up hinting that he could give the company a cash infusion. That would really screw up her plans to bankrupt the joint.

But I do wonder if he seems uncomfortably familiar to her, too.

"But I do wonder if he seems uncomfortably familiar to her, too."
Maybe it's . . . the ears?

LOL! Did that sweet little boy's ears stick out? I don't think they did. (She's probably been thinking, "he looks just like that damn kid I banished, except for the ears!")

While I'll admit that the ears aren't ideal, I think the real issue is that I just like him better with a lot of hair.

Anyway, if you wanna talk about ears, they're still better than Feo's from FELS. That guy had some serious earage.

But not as bad as this guy's.

Julie...that is one of my favorite Star Trek episodes! Earage, now there is a word. You are right about Feo's. Its really the right one that sticks out. And the camera amplifies everything. Poor FC!

I'm with you, he has all of that beautiful black hair, why cut it off. Can you imagine him and Capricho together? Who would have the better mane?

Julie - Feo's ears in FELS bothered me the whole time, too, but since he was an evil baddie I didn't care. I figured if it wasn't poor potty-training that made him that way, it was his ears.

Now FW just needs more hair instead of the gelmet look! He's got to have hair to run our fingers through, girls.....

One would think that with all the body-building, horse-riding lessons and plastic surgery -- which fixes everything-- that drives telenovelaland, these guys would get their ears fixed so they're not so distracting.

Love your humorous and direct style!

Great recap as always Pasofino. Hey, without giving out a spoiler, I wanna know if others think that the wedding is gonna happen or not? The suspense is killing me. Even if it does happen we know it won't be consumated. I'm betting that it won't happen for whatever reason. In answer to someone's elses inquiry, I like Nanda. She's a bit too perky, but I can handle that.

I think it won't happen, but I can't guess what will stop it - so many possibilities - Nanda's doubts, Santiago's lateness, or maybe Gardenia shows up in time to announce Soledad's death?

Can someone let me know where I can find Friday nights episode. I was not able to tape it.
Ret

Thank you, everyone, for the ideas and links for English learning sites for my student. I appreciate the help.

You can find all the episodes on you-tube
When you get to the site just search
MEPS & whatever episode you want.
Friday is probably 19 on you-tube

This is the best place to get a good laugh to shake off the cold, rainy weather and learn new words: "earage"and "bitch-sense" - I feel really cool knowing these!

Love the comments on Fr/Ed's hair, too. Mostly I love knowing that I'm not the only one who takes these things seriously! ;)

Thanks to all for making me laugh!

thank you variopinta Ret

Thanks for the recap, Pasofino. It's always helpful to clear up the details.
I'm afraid it doesn't matter what product Erika uses on her hair, that stupid Camilo will still dump on her one way or another.
FC does have a tiny earage issue, but he gets a pass from me, for obvious reasons.
Connie, good wishes for your son's safety.
