MEPS 5/18, emergency recap

Ferro wrote: I apologize profusely, readers, but I am quite under the weather and won't be able to put up a recap tonight. Whoever wishes, please feel free to leave comments with what happened tonight, tomorrow if I feel better I'll copy anything recap-ish into the main post. Sorry again and thanks for understanding.

Ferro, I hope you don't mind, I hope I'm not being presumptious, I'm writing an emergency recap. This is bare-bones, and I'm just writing what I caught on the first pass. Readers, don't be afraid to correct anything I heard wrong, or to add any important points I missed. It ain't pretty, but it's functional.
-Paula

At Rene’s grave, Lucio threatens Gardenia, waving his gun at her. She is beside herself in panic. Grasping at any hope, she tells him, “I have a secret about Franco Santoro.”

Margarita and Jacinto. Margarita misses Gardenia, because she has stayed away since they fought. Jacinto leaves the house to go find Gardenia and make things right.

In her room, Aurora changes into her jammies. Cad quietly opens the door a crack and leers at her in her undies. He says under his breath, “You’re not bad at all.”

Ed is reflecting on his day. Fernanda was right there so recently, and already he misses her. He says aloud that he loves her so much.

In her room in the big house, Fernanda almost hears him. She is fretting about what she will wear for their meeting/date tomorrow. Smart Nanda shows up and points out that Dumb Nanda sure is worried about looking good for a business associate. Admit it, she says, you want to please him. Dumb Nanda claims it’s just because Franco knew Ed, and talking to him makes her feel closer to Ed.

Damian with his mama. He tells her he’s innocent, and the Elizaldes set him up. She says he should go to the police. He says the family would make sure he takes the fall, and he’d go to jail. Mama says Fernanda loves him. Dam demands to do things his way, and orders his mama to keep silent about him.

Lucio with Gardenia at the grave. She tells him that she has an important document about Franco. Lucio keeps terrorizing her with the gun, and she’s sure she’s about to die. Just then, KABLAM, Lucio gets a shovel to the head, thanks to Jacinto, and falls into the grave next to Rene. But it looks like he’s still breathing.

Ed considers his course of action. He recalls that Ciro told him the white king’s head will give him the weapons he needs for battle. And the letter from his mother has his mission. His mission is to free Lil, and in the process he will free Ciro. It was his mother’s last wish. He needs Ciro’s money so he is equipped for the battle. He cinches up his calzones and determines to accept his mission. The first thing he needs is his passport to get the money, but when he looks for it, he discovers it has been taken.

Jacinto takes Gardenia back to the house. She’s crying a lot. She’s overwhelmed because, had Jacinto not shown up in time, she’d be dead right now. She tells them about her very bad day. The three men abducting her, Rene breaking into the house, Lucio tried to rape her, Rene saved her, and the shooting.

Fr. Rumpole, at his desk, realizes that it’s midnight and Rene still hasn’t arrived. Something must have happened to him. Yeah, I’d say.

At Jacinto’s house, Margarita and Gardenia make up. She tells them she found the passport on Rene’s corpse. She’s angry because Margarita and Jacinto kept the secret from her. Jacinto says it’s a matter of life and death. What do they do now? Margarita wants to go to the police. Gardenia wants to go to Ed’s house. Jacinto says it’s a dangerous night. When Lucio comes to, he might try to kill her again. Nobody’s going nowhere tonight.

In the morning, Lucio uses his gun to convince Tomasa to go waken Barbara. Barb tells Luc to get lost. “We talk when I want to talk, not when you want to.” Luc pulls the gun on Barbara and orders her to listen.

SECOND HALF STARTS HERE

Lucio wants money from Barbara. She tells him she doesn’t have that kind of money at the house. He waves the gun in her face and says that if he doesn’t get it he’ll shoot her. That helps her remember that there is money in the safe in the library.

At Las Animas, Ed is ostensibly doing his morning work-out. He’s actually doing what Japanese Anime calls Fan Service - content that has nothing to do with the plot, but it gives the audience a thrill. But hey, I’m not complaining! Maybe it was meant to be educational. An anatomy lesson on all the upper body muscle groups.

Tomasa comes into the kitchen to say that Gonzo is up and he’s in the library. Lucio swaps hostages. He says if Barb doesn’t come back in five minutes, he’ll kill Tomasa. Barb pretends to care.

Margarita can’t believe Gardenia’s going back to Las Animas. Isn’t she afraid Lucio will find her? Gardenia is determined to ask Ed why he never answered the letter she wrote him when he got sent away to school.

Ed comes to breakfast. Steve reports that Gardenia never came home. Ed reports that his passport is gone. Steve thinks Camilo took it when he broke in, but Ed says Jacinto was with him the whole time.

Erika comes to invite Franco to go riding to the club. Ed says he has an appointment. Steve asks if Franco has told her about the party yet. Steve says that she was the first one Franco wanted to invite. Ed squirms. Erika asks if she’ll be going as his pareja (date? partner?). When Erika leaves, Ed is mad at Steve for creating problems with Fernanda. Steve says it’s strategy – it will wake up the jealousy and show how she really feels. Ed is ready to call off the party, but Steve tells him the party is no game. It’s an important battleground in their war.

Lucio keeps threatening the crying Tomasa, while Barbara is upstairs lazily brushing her hair. When she comes down to the kitchen, she says Gonzo was in the library so she couldn’t get to the safe. Instead she gives him a diamond necklace and says this should keep food on his table for ten years.

Gardenia comes home. (I’m not sure I understood this scene.) She’s ready to leave her job because he never gives her any work to do. He says she’s there in case he needs her. Her job is to wait. With fire in her eyes, she asks, “What is Eduardo Juarez’ job?”

PREVIEWS
Ed and Fernanda have a date in the barn. The barn won’t be used for the community center – the look Ed gave Fernanda was so hot, the barn caught fire!

tonights capitulo was so good....
i for sure thought from fridays previews that Lucio was going to barbie to tell him who Fr/Ed was for real....but Gardenia was SAVED.....and kept the secret safe for another day.....but there was so much action...where to start...
Cad is just a pig.....I thought for sure that barbie was setting Gonzo up to be shot by Lucio....
but no . she returned with the necklace.....hummmmm.....then to see Ed/Fr getting ready for his so called date with Fer...was so neat....What shell i wear?.... the both of them trying to look their best for each other, was so neat.....and Ed/Fr looked so hot working out i was thinking out loud and my husband was looking at me strangly.... i thought i better stop.......too hot...whew........BNinCA

Paula H., Thank you so much for jumping in with that great recap. You're a trouper. If you're not already a recapper, you should be.

I could see why Gardenia would be upset that she was kept out of the loop about the Eduardo/Franco secret identity thing, but she seems more upset that Ed never answered her long-ago letter. What is it with these people not being able to move on?

Sorry you are not feeling well , Ferro. Speedy recovery. Paula~~Thanks for stepping in to recap. Wow...Jacinto saved the day. Thank goodness his bike had a flat tire. Lucio managed to climb out of that swimming pool he dug. Speaking of pools, he seems to have gone off the deep end. Barb brushing her hair while Lucio held Tomasa hostage was classic Babs's behavior. So did she give him diamonds or rhinestones? Why wasn't Babs curious about Lucio's dirty, bloody, crazy condition...Oh, I know...because she's Babs and doesn't care about anyone's condition but her own. And creepy peeping Cad. Blecccchhh. Note to houseguests at the hacienda...lock your doors. At least the male viewers got some eyecandy. And about that outfit Fr'ed picked out....That striped sweater flung over his shoulders...yuppy puppy...Inot muy macho ... do not enjoy that look...Put the sweater on , or leave it home. The work out scene...FC appears more pumped up than he did in Amor Real [in which he had his shirt off a lot. He took a lot of baths in that one.] Error is just annoying in a seventh grade girl kind of way. I wish she would stop that sudden junior high shrieking she does. Thanks again , Paula, for stepping in to save the day. Get well soon , Ferro.

Thanks very much Paula. I'm confused about the continuity of Jacinto ending up at Lucio's looking for Gardenia. What was the whole flat tire bike thing about? And now Jacinto's fingerprints are all over the shovel Lucio used to dig the grave. And they're not going to the police? Surely the fake PI will be found won't he? ... especially with Lucio going off the deep end and threatening to kill off half the population. And there's still a real plot line confusion with Jacinto's firing that I doubt ever will resolved. I know, I know, too much logic here.

Paula...early class. No time to read either this recap or your Tontas recap until later....BUT....you are amazing...and of such a generous, hard-working spirit. Two recaps in one night. AWESOME. Hugs and thanks to you, big-time.

Ferro...so sorry you're sick...these children bring home lots of viruses don't they? Feel better soon. Hope the baby doesn't catch it. Or your dear wife.

Ferro/Chris - I hope you are feeling better, soon.

Paula H - thanks for pinch-hitting tonight. Well done, with a nice undercurrent of snark. What an action-packed episode!

Fan Service, eh? Too funny. Well, IMO they can fan 'service' us viewers as often as they like.

What was up with Barb brushing her hair???

I've noticed Lucifer's shirt has had three different versions of the blood stain. (er ... continuity team?) Lucio is a loose cannon. Hopefully Barb will take him out. Soon. He gives me the creeps.

When Fred pulled out that striped sweater, I wondered if he was going to ride a gondola in Venice. or Paris.

I think the letter issue (G'denia/FrEd) is a plot device, to help Fer & FrEd realize their own letters were intercepted. Of course, this won't happen for months....

IMO, Aurora can NOT be a bad person. She doesn't have the boobs & body for it. (telenovela rules?)

Yowza! I must say, MEPS is one of those "don't miss a minute" shows, unlike its predecessor FELS where you could miss a month and still find Slofia sobbing and Juan A Brain looking stoopid.

Thanks for stepping up to the plate in the 9th inning, Paula! Ferro...hope you're feeling better soon.

What punishment would be appropriate for Cad? I think I hate him more than Lewdio who is just an idiot (& is destined to die very soon, methinks).

Gardenia: honey, the reason they didn't tell you the secret is because YOU CAN'T SHUT YOUR MOUTH!

Errorika: ugh. This won't be pretty.

Fr/Ed: I'm not a huge muscle girl so the gratutious pumping iron scene left me cold. However, when you smile...now THAT is hot.

Maggarita
:-D

p.s. thanks to all the other recappers! as always, I can't comment daily but truly appreciate your help!

Ferro so sorry you are not feeling well. Hope you get better soon. Paula H thanks for stepping in on such short notice. What an episode! Where to start...

The scene with Gardenia being threatened by Lucio was so upsetting. I could hardly watch it and then---WHAM---Jacinto finally got to smack someone with a shovel! How did Lucio get out of the hole? Maybe proped the dead guy up and climbed out? Hmmm...

And speaking of Lucio what was up with those crazy eyes? He had one going one way and the other one was squinty--what an idiot.

Fr/Ed--Wow, what can I say. I looked really, really close because I wanted to be sure he didn't pull a muscle that might need rubbing.... What a hunk of manflesh! On the other hand what was up with the sweater? Was he going boating? Here's a tip for the guys--don't wear your sweater like that. So not cool.

Erika--stop squealing. You're not in grade school for God's sake.

Cadmil-ho--Gag. What else can I say.

Thank you Ferro for filling in. It was very helpful, and I think you got most of the drift.

Liver lips pervert Camillo grows more repulsive with each episode. Does anyone think that maybe Gonzo is waking up and smelling the cafe regarding Barbarecca la vibora? That look on his face speaks a thousand words. Get a clue buey!

Lucio definitely belongs in Dr. Demontobregon's nut house--way more than Lili belongs there. Too bad Jacinto didn't completely do him in, but then we need Lucio's obnoxious presence to stir the plot--or was that the pot?

I love the two Nandas and the dialog between them as well as Fr/Ed in his cute little jammies looking for his passport and deciding what to wear on his date with Nanda.

I'm drooling for the next episode which it looks like is going to bring Ed and Nanda back to the barn where they played as kids. In my opinion, some part of Nanda knows already that Franco is Ed, but much more of the plot must unfold before she can let herself know that completely.

Dona Gringuita

Paula: Great recap on such short notice.

I'm having a hard time believing that Barb would give Lucio a diamond necklace. For one thing, if it was really valuable, it would have been in the safe. She said she couldn't get to the safe because Gonzo was in the office already. She'll probably accuse Lucio of theft and sic the cops on him. The end of Lucio. Amen.

Ferro, hope you are feeling better.

Paula, 2 excellent recaps in one night!

I thought the actress playing Gardenia did a spectacular job. Her crying and begging were very difficult to watch. Jacinto was in a total rage and I did think for a moment he might have done away with Lucifer (and who could blame him).

I loved the way she confronted Fr/Ed. Actually, I think I saw fear in his eyes for the first time! :)

Can Cad get any more repulsive? He "...quietly opens the door a crack and leers at her in her undies." Blech.

Dona Gringuita: "Liver lips pervert Camillo" - Excellent!

Looking forward to more Fr/Ed and Fernanda scenes.

Paula, you are a dynamo. 2 excellent, witty recaps. Wow. I'm in awe. I admit that the party preparations of Eddie and Nanda were cute. The workout Eddie was doing was impressive, he certainly looks healthy, but I would have preferred that he wear a shirt. As Eddie was selecting his party attire I half expected him to break outin a chorus of I Feel Pretty. I guess singing is about the only thing he doesn't do.

I also enjoyed seeing Gardenia suddenly become assertive and accusatory. She certainly has suddenly become much more important to the story.

I feared for poor Tomasa. I guess Babs just didn't want to have to deal with the hassle of a murdered employee that early in the day. However I don't think that Lucio needs to bother with any long term plans.

Ferro, GET WELL!

Carlos

Erica is starting to get on my nerves. She's so desperate for a boyfriend that she "forgot" it was all her idea to pretend to be Fr/Ed's girlfriend for that dinner party. Fr/Ed is heading for a fatal attraction moment if he doesn't clear the air with her.
And Steve seems to be fanning that fire. Ay Caramba!

I didn't think Fr/Ed would get his passaport back so quickly. I thought for sure that would be an issue for the next couple of episodes.

I think he had to get the passport back so he could go get the money because the money is important to continue the story.

Chris I hope you feel better soon. Paula, thanks for the recap. Wow 2 in 1 night. You are great.

Gardendia quickly recovered from her traumatizing day and went back to being annoying. She's seriously going to ask why Ed never wrote her back. Fr/Ed is going to have two fatal attractions - Erica and Gardenia.

I was concerned that poor Tomasa would not live to see the day but thankfully Barb came through (nice comment Carlos). My bet is that the stones are fake; the necklace wasn't in the safe. And Lucifer will be in jail or dead very soon. I kept thinking Barb would punch him, grab the gun and kill him. If Tomasa weren't there, she might have.

Paula- fine emergency recap! Thanks for steeping in. And get well soon, Chris.

So glad that Jacinto arrived in time, toobad he didn't finish the job on Lucio. He won't be around long, Babs said as much, as he knows all her secrets. She isn't giving him the necklace to buy his silence, or to fund his future- he doesn't have one; she needs him dead.

Esteve is MAchiavelli reincarnated- he has a plan, and Eddy is soo lucky that he has Esteve for a friend. (as well as Jacinto, Marg, Garndenia, Martina). He would be lost on his own.
I don't see any real danger in reporting the death of Manzanares- is there a downside to Eddy's cause? Someone should do something about the body- I wonder if that will be forgotten. Surely the good guys aren't going to fill the hols, and i doubt that Lucio will take (or have) the time.
Gotta run, looks like tonight will be another barnburner!

Thanks Paula! I enjoyed the other recap too, but after so many postings, I didn't add mine. Your comments were really on target and funny.

Yikes, Esteve didn't need to fan that fire of jealousy. Erika's a silly girl. I was so hoping she would be a strong girlfriend like she was in Pasion.

Now Ed/Fr will have to deal with Gardenia and her aggressiveness too. I know she's suppose to be young, but her little temper tantrums aren't cute...
jb

Awh.aah, get well soon and don't worry about the blog.

OT (I feel), Gardenia! How dare she display this righteous anger now?! Where was that fiesty huzpa, that spunk, when you needed to use it?! Go sit down!

Now On Topic. Did you see that! That sculptured body! How beautiful was that. (Leaving out further exclamation points.) No wonder artists want to work with marble as a medium for the human body. When the body is that gorgeous even I would like to sculpt it.
Yep. Freeze frame. I'll make me a man.
Yep. I'm in it for the art.
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paula, thank you for going beyond the call of duty for those of us that look forward to reading the delightful recaps! Ferro, feel better soon.

I would like to say to Gardenia: IT'S NOT ALL ABOUT YOU! Eduardo DIDN'T have to write you back, your sister/brother-in-law DON'T have to include you in their secrets, and most of all GROW UP! There, I feel much better....

Where is that beautiful, super expensive horse?

MEPS in AZ

A couple of notes on tonight's episode, sandwiched during channel switching with the season ending "24" episode:

I was surprised by how mad Damian was with his mother. He seems to be losing it.

Although it appears that Gardenia did not spill "the beans" to Lucio, she did say she knew the secret that Manzanares had found out about Franco. This could put her in danger of being tortured in some way down the road if Lucio relays that to somebody, like Babs.

Some interesting idioms tonight:

hacer de tripas corazon - said by Margarita about her sister - I think she meant "grin and bear it" or "put up with" being separated from her sister?

irse de la lengua - run at the mouth, talk too much. (??) Margarita describing her sister.

The Silverfox.

Thank you Paula for coming to the rescue. Between the phone calls and the squeals I was counting on the Recap to answer my age-old question "wah'wha'". You're so smart to tell me all that other important stuff that happened in the episode.

I like this Director. Some time today I'm going to look him/her up. She/he set us up. Previews showed Denia peeking at EdFra exercising. Well with Denia in bondage we were not expecting the workout session to occur now! Wonderful surprise!

So what's going to happen to Lucio? Shooting, hit by car, strangled? Hmmmmm

Feel better, Ferro, and thanks, Paula, for the enjoyable recap.

In a way the "white king's head will give him the weapons to do battle" seems to apply to Esteve as well not just the letter hidden in the white king. Esteve's perceptive mind knows Fr/Ed will need the money as a weapon to prepare him for battle. At this point, Fr/Ed seems overwhelmed from all sides but at least he heeded Esteve's advice on using some of the money to complete his mission.

A roll of heavy duty duct tape would come in so handy around Gardenia and Errika. Fr/Ed needs to purchase several rolls if he ever wants to enjoy any peace and quiet.

The villains are great in this novela. Never knew I could dislike these characters so intensely which means they are great actors in their roles. They are sort of on par with the crazy peg-leg one-eyed villain in Pasion. Of course, I have forgotten the character's name. GinCA

Bouffy!

of course, i can't remember if that was a pure play on his real name or for his coiffed locks.

Maggarita

GinCa,

That was Alberto LaFont played by Jose Elias Moreno. He was great in that role and I was disappointed he did not win the TV Y Novelas award he was nominated for.

Thank you, everyone, for your supportive comments. Writing the recap took much less time than usual because it was so bare-bones (I skipped a bunch of detail), and because I didn't feel obligated to understand every bit of dialog. Better yet, I didn't have to write a title! I hate, hate, HATE coming up with titles. Always have, ever since high school. One of these days, I'm going to title a recap, "The Untitled Recap."

Why the flat tire on the bicycle? Why did that make any difference in what Jacinto did?

If I remember correctly, Barb actually did ask Lucio what happened to him and why he was so filthy. But Luc refused to answer because he was the one with the gun.

If Jacinto had not had a flat, wouuldn't he have gone straight to Las Animas to look for Gardenia? He wouldn't have known she was at Lucio's house.

Paula, amazing recap. You say it was bare bones, but you captured everything!

I agree with (I think it was) Pasofino, that Barbara could call the cops, tell them Lucio stole the necklace. Also, she could say that he has a gun, there could be a shoot-out, and problems solved! (Of course I had some similar grandiose prediction last night that was totally wrong, so don't count on it's being anything like that).

I'm glad we guys had equal time in the eye candy department, although looking at beautiful Aurora through Cadmilo's eyes cheapened the experience a bit.

I hope Cadmil-ho gets a shovel-to-the-head from Jacinto soon. How fitting would that be?

I was thinking it would have been fine with Babs if Lucio had killed poor Tomasa; then she could nail him for murder. Sure he's got lots of "secrets" about her, but does he have any proof? I don't think he does. He'd have even less credibility than Lil did.

I wonder if Damian's outburst at his mom counts as denouncing; if so, then his doom is already sealed. One of these days I'd like to see him in a role where he doesn't have to die, but I think he likes playing villains!

Oh...forgot to say how disappointed I was to see Fr'ed in those jammies. They were kind of Star Trekky , verdad ? ...kind of like the uniforms Captain Kirk, Spock, el al wore. Guys with hot bods do not usually wear pjs. Fr'ed, loosen up.

Great recap Paula! Hope you're feeling better Ferro!

OMG, I laughed so hard thinking of you guys when FC was pumping up! I'm not a fan of giant muscles either, but FC really is quite the work of art. The part that bothers me is the lack of hair on the chest. Too much is gross, but none at all is gross too.

Errorika is ridiculous. She actually squealed right in front of two grown men. How embarrasing!

It's Gardenia's world - we're all just livin' in it! She just can't stop for one minute to think that Eduardo might have his own reasons for doing what he's doing! She is a complete PI the A!

Paula H, thanks for the emergency recap, we all appreciate it.

Someone needs to throw Cad under the bus and hurry, he gets worse with every episode. There is plenty of room for him with Rene'!

rsk

I thought the deal with Jacinoto and his flat tire was that it caused him to walk, and therefore take a shortcut by Soledad's old house, where he came upon the Lucio/Gardenia scene. Just a guess.

Also, could we have new characters coming on board? Eduardo's new banker?? Whatever detective gets assigned to the murder - assuming it is discovered?? Hmmm....

The Fox....

Silverfox, I don't think they have detectives. They last death (Monty's) they sent for Dr. O.

rsk

Hola Melissa...I agree. Hair on the chest is one of those delightful differentials between a man and a woman. I prefer to think that in real life, our galan does indeed have hair but that the demands of telenovela styling means they've waxed him to the max. (A possible career move for me.)

During the workout scene last night I wondered if it was Ferro's night (I couldn't remember). I figured he'd complain that he of all people got stuck with that. :-)

I too was unimpressed with Fr/Ed's clothing choice for his "date." I never liked the sweater-tied-around-the-neck look and thought it went out of style a couple of decades ago!

I just added a photo to the recap, taken from the preview for tonight's show. Talk about global warming!

Someone mentioned FC looked bigger in last night's Fan Service than in Amor Real. That's because the muscles were working rather than relaxing in the tub. The big flexed muscles aren't a turn-on for me either, but I'm seriously impressed by the level of work it must take to accomplish that. Especially considering that they say the stars typically work 12-hour days and 6- or 7-day weeks throughout filming of novelas. Who has time for the amount of iron pumping required to maintain that size?

Melissa, about the bald chest. Remember that unlike many novela stars (and ALL the female stars), TBLMOE has a good bit of native blood. Natives of the Americas have much less body hair than Europeans. Even Jaime Camil, with his mixture from four continents, looked "splotchy" when he grew his beard during his motorcycle excursion. Even after it filled it, he still had the bare front-of-chin common when Mexicans grow beards. Face it: Europeans are just more bushy!

Judyb~~~Excellent--You could wax FC while I teach him English. My cousin married a bodybuilder and used to help him rub on baby oil for competitions. They're divorced. She loved him, and he loved...him. He was a tad conceited and body conscious. She gained a few pounds after she had their son, and ...you all know the rest.

You know girls, you can't grow hair on steel! :-P

Gov. Arnold had a semi (or something similar) that contained his gym and he would workout on the set whenever he had a chance.

Silver Fox: A bit of serendipity here. We're reading Doña Bárbara in my Spanish class and I was reading ahead, which I always do - looking up unknown words when I came across hacer de tripas corazon. In the context of that part of the book, it meant "to pluck up one's courage".

You don't suppose the sight of Eddie's near-naked body made our Ferro sick do you?...Nah.

Carlos

Judy B - LOL - you're new career! You explained it perfectly - the "differential" - a man is supposed to feel like a man, not like a woman.

Paula H - I get the whole European vs. indigenous hair thing. Truth be told, I love the facial structure, skin color, etc. of the indigenous of Mexico, much more than the European look. Which is one of the reasons I was attracted to my husband. Colunga has the skin color but that's probably just a tan. His facial features are definitely more European. I'm sure Colunga waxes, just like most guys who are really into bodybuilding do.

As for Jaime Camil - he is totally hairy! Have you looked at his forearms?

Oh, I forgot to mention that my favorite line last night was said by Esteve and in English. I believe it was right after Eddie chastised him for baiting Erika and just as Gardenia was arriving:

"OK,next!"

He is such a delightful, refreshing character.

Carlos

I was wondering why Gardenia had to knock on the door when she works there. That was a cute line. I'm starting like Esteve more and more.

They don't do fingerprints in novelas & rarely call la policía.

In our matchmaking, I forgot about Tomasa, she has a crush on Santiago. She is going to be very pretty with her hair in other than the criada style.

I hated the sweater the moment Fr/Ed took it out, a good cleaning rag & the way he wore, real men don't do that, do they?

Who will miss mafia man other than Artemio & I doubt he'll call the police.

I'm not taken with the Mr. Universe body either, but I'll force myself to make an exception in FC's case.

Loved it when Esteve told both Fernanda & Erika that they were first on the invitation list. Esteve, you rascal.

Tks mucho to the pinch hitter Paula H & hope Ferro is back in the game soon.

Paula~~~Great photo of ONH.

I'm worried about Jacinto not calling the police and his fingerprints on the shovel. Years ago, someone dumped a body on my parents' farm in a woods . My niece saw it and thought it was a dummy. It was interesting to watch the crime lab investigate the scene. Jacinto or someone has to report that dead body. I hope Gardenia or Jacinto tell Fr'ed the whole story. [Word verification : ''bratt''....Could that be a reference to Gardenia????]

usanlynn – OMG, great minds think alike! I was having Star Trek flashbacks, too, when I saw FrEd’s jammies. WooHooooooo!

I liked Esteve's "Okay, next" comment, too. It was *so* American in delivery---he nailed that one.

"Maybe it was meant to be educational. An anatomy lesson on all the upper body muscle groups." Now why did hubby keep cracking jokes during this scene???? His artistic appreciation was definitely lacking last night. Mine, however, was in full bore. A-ha-ha-ha-ha!!!!!

P.S. - Paula, Thanks for stepping up last night, amiga!!

Jumpin Jeepers Recaporama!!! Great job Paula for steppin in. I just have one thign to say, i got Carlos' comment, I too laughed hystercally and thought it was great when Esteve said "OK, next" in English. Too funny, because, hell if we are lined up in real life to knock on Ed's door...hubba hubba!!! :)

Is it only me, or has anyone else noticed that Esteve does have an accent when he speaks English. Not much of one on certain words, but if he strings together a longer sentence you can notice, likewise, I thought I noticed his Spanish accent got better when he was excited and running words together more rapidly. Perhaps you all have discussed this here before, but I think he fakes his American Spanish accent... :)

Thank you everyone for your well wishes, I may actually recover at some point, slightly better today.

HUGE thank you to Paula for filling in! Thank you so much, I won't forget it.
