MEPS 6/29: Will champagne, blue eyes, and an unbuttoned shirt do the trick? Can a witch ferret out Aurora's secrets?

We are grinding our way slowly towards the big party, but we're not there yet. This was a slow, repetitive episode, which could be summarized thus:

Barbara's new plan is to get Fernanda, finally, boinked by her husband Damian, thereby wrecking her chances with Fr/Ed. In order to do this, she has concocted some completely ludicrous story (about the $3 million dollars) which no normal human would believe for a second, in order that Damian can come out of hiding and do the deed.

She spends this whole episode with a loony grin on her face. Let us not forget that she, seemingly the puppet-master here, is having her own strings pulled by Artemio Bravo. He gives her tough assignments but she accepts them zestfully.

In addition, she is determined to plumb Aurora's secrets and is wreaking havoc with the poor girl's weak mental circuitry.

I could stop right there, but for those who insist on more...

  • Out at the statue, Barb (with her loony smile) pressures Fernanda into going to a hotel with Damian so he can explain his actions and "clarify her doubts."

  • So Damian takes Fer to a hotel. He wants to sign in for several nights, she says: "Just one." The main questions she asks again and again: (1) why did you tell me a few days ago that Barbara stole the money and framed you, and now you and she are so chummy? (2) where have you been hiding?

His answer to the first: this is his chance to clear his name. He doesn't answer the second. I'm not sure why it matters, anybody know?

To sum up his moves: he orders champagne (Fer doesn't drink hers) and lounges around en deshabille, coming up to Fer as close as possible as often as possible and beaming his slitty little eyes into her eyes and repeating that his love is eternal. He says "let me embrace you" and uses his endearing nickname for her - "peque" (shorty) - a lot.

After a bunch more bull, he imagines she must be sleepy and extends his hand to her, "let's go to bed, shorty!" She nixes that and he sleeps on the sofa.

  • Barb goes home and tells her intolerably dimwitted husband how happy she is that everything is resolved and Fernanda and Damian can now have marital bliss. The old duffer is, oh so happy, and then he remembers for a second - wait, my daughter Lili has been kidnapped - and his brow furrows a tiny bit - but Barbara assures him all will be fine - that surely it's Dr Obregon who has kidnapped Lili and he'll take good care of her - so the furrow disappears and old duffer daddy is happy again.

Barbara suggests the Big Party will make a fine time to show the world that the Elizalde family has rehabilitated Damian and clasped him back into their collective bosom. Old duffer agrees although he still thinks Damian could have called, at least.

  • Flor wants to sing like a stooley and tell everything she knows: that she saw Damian and Vladimir and Prisila at Vlad's apartment. Gardenia and Jacinto tell her to keep her mouth shut. She is bent, however, on telling Fernanda, at the very least, that her hubby is holed up with his best buddy Vlad.

  • At the hacienda, Aurora teaches Prisila how to knit - they'll make booties next - but she, Aurora, is having a literally hellish time. She prays and cries, then she finds a voodoo doll full of pins on her pillow and screams and cries.

  • It's the next day. Fer slept in her clothes. The phone starts ringing. It's Franco, Franco, Franco. Esteve, watching him make these calls, suggests it may be too early to call her. "Last night, it was too late." He wants to tell her what he heard from Jacinto: that Vladimir's apt was Damian's hideout. Esteve wonders why Fr/Ed is so hot to tell Fer about this - "can it be, you want to see her reaction?" Fr/Ed calls, calls, calls. "Why doesn't she pick up? She always answers her cellphone!"

Under Damian's watchful eye, Fer does answer a couple other calls. First, from her daffy Daddy - he wants to hear that everything is wonderful for her and Damian, but she sounds wan and unhappy, even Daddy notices! He reminds her, to her dismay, that the big party at Fr/Ed's is this very night.

She also answers Flor's call but says she isn't coming in to the office today. She goes to take a bath, thought bubbling among the bubbles that her husband seems a stranger to her now.

Damian calls Vlad and boasts that, while it's taking longer than he'd imagined, he's well on his way to seducing Fer. Proof? She isn't going to the office, because she wants to spend the day with him!

He slips her cellphone out of her purse to see whose calls she wasn't taking. It was Franco, Franco, Franco! But why didn't she answer? he wonders.

He blabs, blabs, blabs at her, telling lies, flashing his sincere eyes and unbuttoned shirt. I fear she is weakening somewhat.

  • It's morning at the hacienda too, and Aurora is not in a good mood at breakfast. Santi (who does a brief orange juice product placement) thinks it's because she misses him at night.

Barb comes in; Santi is astonished to hear from her that Aurora has developed a strong interest in pasteurization and longs to go to the plant with Barb that day.

So Barb and Aurora drive off - but they don't end up at the plant. Instead, Barb has driven to some seedy back alley. Smiling goonily all the while, she pushes Aurora up the stairs to meet - Rosenda the witch. The witch drags Aurora off into the back room, chants, asks her name (shouldn't she be able to figure that out via her extraordinary mental abilities?), and Aurora is terrified. Perhaps by the skulls and lava lamps everywhere.

  • It's morning at the office, too. Daffy Daddy Elizalde warns Anibal (who has always loathed Damian and continues to do so) (and calls him an inepto, I like that term and plan to use it myself) that at the party this night he'd better not wreck Fernanda's happiness (at her reconciliation with her husband).

  • It's morning at Fr/Ed's house too. Gardenia bounces in, all excited about the stuff that's being delivered for the party. Fr/Ed isn't interested so Esteve will take charge.
Tomorrow: Finally the party! Erika is very happy. Fer arrives on Damian's arm to Fr/Ed's utter consternation.

Wow, quick recap, tks melinama.

I have been hoping Santiago would mess Babs hair like she does to him, he just didn't do it long enough.

I looks like Fernanda isn't going to call Fr/Ed. I don't think things will go well at the party for them. She did owe him some explanation.

variopinta

Thanks melinama for the quick recap tonight.

Don't you just love how Eduardo continues to have his identity crisis and Estevie has to continually slap him upside the head to remind him of pretending to be the mysterious and unattached Franco Santoro.

Jody :)

I don't remember if anyone mentioned Mario Ivan Martinez role in Original Sin or not.

I was watching Original Sin on MGM and, voila, old Steve Norton pops up as the priest who Angelina Jolie is telling her story to during the movie. He was acting as her confessor the night before she was to be executed.

Silverfox

Loved the prologue and your "I could stop right there but for those who insist on more..." Have always admired your ability to distill it down to the crunchy crust of the episode. That's a gift. Thanks Melinama.

Nice breakfast recap :-}

Did Fern forget that FrEd warned her about trusting anyone? She's faltering and I suspect she'll give in to Damian to some degree, but not have sex. It would've been nice to have some simple easy storyline on the stolen money that was believable. It would then help to believe Fern's reaction to it. It would help to have something believable.

Thanks Melinama, I really enjoy the way you filter and get to the essence of the story. But, for those who insist on more...
jb

Thanks for the recap Melinama. It was a ho hum episode for sure. Every time Abora came on my boyfriend would change the channel. I don't know why Nanda just didn't walk out on Damian. Why sit there and listen to all that BS?

Fe/Ed--can you say stalker?! I know he was worried about her but come on.

So will this one night of THE PARTY take a whole week? Last night it was early morning so I guess they could drag it out until Thursday. If Nanda has to go with Damian, who will be the mysterious woman that Erika is supposed to make jealous? Hmmmmm....

Some things that I wondered about last night's episode: Whatever happened to Damian's car? Is it stashed in Vladi's garage? How did D and Fer get to the hotel - taxi or did Babs drive them? How will they get to the hacienda, taxi? Why oh why did Fer spend the night? I know they didn't sleep together but she is opening the door to him. It looks like she inherited some of Daffy Daddy's genes and they are taking over - oh noes! Did she sleep in her makeup and is she wearing the same makeup the next day?
Thanks Melinama for a to-the-point recap.

MEPS in AZ

Thank you for a great recap, melinama. "en deshabille"---- OMG great minds think alike. That word has been running through my head a lot over the past week, and I don't know why. I cannot believe you used it!

Well, I'll go upstairs and see if the evil VCR recorded this episode. Maybe the cassette is evil. Oh well . . . .

Yep, these cast characters are definitely wearing their own telenovela beanie hats. Invisible model, of course, for filming purposes.

Looks like Aurora is still dumber than a box of rocks.

I second that Doris! And Abora even got the special edition Voo Doo doll. No straw and rags for her. She got the nice fabric with the designer pins.

Thanks, Melinama, quick recap, I read it before it aired- on my new flat screen! I've created a monster in myself- new tv AND cable in the same day, and I was like a kid with a new bicycle- I rode it way too late last night, watching Anthony Bourdain in Sri Lanka and Uzbeckistan.

The episode made several of our friends look bad last night. Eddy stupidly calling Fer incessantly; Fer going along with everyone else's plan for the evening and not turning off her cell phone at the first wake up call from Eddy; Abora for being her stupid self again; Babs for wearing that idiotic smile all night ( I love Lucero when she smiles, but PLEASE!). Gonzo actually did better, he actually noticed that Fer didn't seem herself.

Well, the final leadup to the party, several days of suspense building no doubt. We'll get there within a week, probably. No doubt some odd things will happen in the meantime...

What exactly was Babs wearing? A coat with long underwear? That was the most ridiculous outfit.

Melinama, simply great. You make it look so easy. I absolutely love your arid wit.

You've got to hand it to Damian. He may over reach( champagne, "Let's go to bed now") but he is certainly optimistic. Maybe he isn't really all that different from Vlad after all. Poor Nanda looked bewildered.

Carlos

According to the avances, la fiesta begins tonight. It's ok if it lasts a week, I love parties.

When Fernanda left her phone on the table, I said to myself, oh no, but she picked it up, then stupidly left it in her purse while she took a bath.

I do like the way she went after Damian, but didn't really get her answers.

Damian couldn't have picked a worse time to try & get Fernanda in la cama. She doesn't even want him to touch her.

Even Rosenda couldn't help the Aurora scenes. She needs to put a chair in that corner, since she spends so much time in it. Santiago just lets the wolves get to Aurora.

Connie - You mean BAbs is wearing yet another coat dress??? Aaaaaack. Maybe she is single-handedly trying to bring back a fashion item.

dorado dave - LOL... My DH was transfixed in front of our HD flat panel we got at the same time we got the DVR. Sports! in HD! so now we can see their beds of sweat *and* their zits! and one could rewind and see something again! and again! and again! Now all he needs is a recliner! LOL

I cracked up when Damnedian and Fernanda were at the elevator banks and he tried to touch her elbow and she was all "get offa me". LOL Finally -- somebody who thinks. With all his explanations, Fernanda wasn't buying any of it.

Fr/Ed was getting on my nerves with his non stop calling. Fernanda could have at least shut off her phone.

I want to see the scene at Rosenda's parlour. There should be lots of good information for us to learn.

And the party. After so much buildup, I can't wait for that.

~Caborita

Melinama, ditto to what everyone else has said about your great recap.

Maybe Fernanda should go all out and buy Dam a HD flat panel, DVR, cable and even spring for a nice comfy recliner with built in bar and very large supply of his favorite beverage. That would put him out of commission for awhile.

rsk

I sure hope Dam doesn't go to the party. It will be such a bummer.

I hate to bring up an old topic, but I have to tell the truth. I was watching MEPS in the same room as my husband and when Gardenia appeared, I quickly asked if he thought that she was attractive. To my great surprise, he said yes, great figure or something to that effect. I said, fake he said NO! I couldn't believe it!!!

Doris, my husband is a big sports watcher as well.

Sandy in TN

Sandy, your husband clearly is very observant as well as a man with good tastes. By the way the patch we've talked about is the Transderm Scop patch. It works quite well as Susanlynn can testify.

Carlos

Thanks for the recap Melinama. Your comments consistently tickle me... for those of you who insist on more.

It does seem as if even smart characters are having serious lapses in judgment. Hopefully the party will ruffle some feathers and get things moving. Poor Aurora needs a new brain.

Ha! Melinama, great job distilling a somewhat disturbing episode to its essentials.

Why would Fern spend the night w/ Damn? I loved it when she gave him what for (although I couldn't get a word of it but I loved how she verbally smacked him upside his over-coiffed head). And why the bath? And you left your phone in the other room? Yeah, we all know this is just to keep the infernal "she loves me/she loves me not" b.s. in gear.

I give up on Abora.

MEPS in AZ: yeah, I was wondering the same...how the heck is everyone getting around town? We know Fern doesn't have her BIG YELLOW SPY CAR. I guess they'll take the local chicken bus home.

Fr/Ed...please don't act so desperate. Call me...let's chat & I'll show you how to tone it down.

Should we all break out the tequila for tonight's party?

Maggarita
:-/

Carlos, thanks for the patch info and from here on out I'll have more respect
for your ideas on beauty and I'm heading out for my implants after I finish this post!

No amount of blue in the eyes can counteract a sleazy black shirt open to the waist. Why didn't Dam
wear his pink tee?

Sandy in TN

Maggarita, I think we'd better start now!

Connie: it might make last night's character stupidity a little easier to bear...or perhaps after a shooter or 2, it would all make perfect sense!

Maggarita
:-P

I'm going to enjoy la fiesta with limoncello, it will be the first time I've tried it. Just have to remember not to get like Danny DiVito

Off-topic:

While we're talking about fellow fans with new tv sets, etc, has anyone any information on when Univision might be broadcasting in HD??

I understand from somewhere that I read that they do photograph it in HD and televise it in HD in Mexico (at least some places).

Does Univision broadcast in HD in any market, or via any form of delivery in the US, ie Time-Warner, Dish Network, Comcast, etc?? Are any of the DVD's in Blue-Ray format?

It really makes no sense that they have not gone to HD unless they are having problems with the providers - ie the providers won't put their channel in their "basic" package if they go HD, or something similar??

Silverfox

Thanks, Melinama. I was pleased to see that I actually got a lot of last night's episode on my own.

I want to ask all you who have installed HD tvs if you are actually getting Univision in HD?? I use Comcast cable in Northern CA, and can't find the Univision HD channel, and have just assumed they don't have one. Can anyone tell me what's up?

Jane

Thank you Melinama, for the short and the long of this episode.Your writing is such a treat.

Gee wiz I struggle against pressing the fast forward when Abora is creeping into the corner for another night. And when she met the witch and did what the witch commanded I really wanted to fast forward, except I'm watching it at broadcast time!

About Fern leaving her cell phone turned on: good decision. She already thought how Franco is going to misunderstand her checking into a hotel(!) with her eSTRANGed husband. It would be really bad idea to appear to shut out the world - so to speak - no?
I think her body language says Dam has a Very Very long way to go before bed. And didn't she put it so clearly when she said 'who do you think I am!'

The reminder that this night is the party was not good for Fern or ME! She didn't even go shopeen' yet!!! When oh when is she going to buy some clothes. Erika is even laying out her new underwear! And this 'almost' -hasbeen- husband' is taking UP her time!
The only time I can remember that open shirt thing working was in Amor Real. 'Nough said for those who've seen that telenovela.

Why is it that men think "going to bed" solves everything? I think I would have left and gone home.

Melinama, thanks for the recap and for embellishing for those of us who insist.
Pris knitting for the baby—sort of a throwaway scene, but very funny. Looked like she still had more to learn.
Agree that Barb’s grinning wasn’t really appropriate, but it was interesting to see a happier face on Lucero instead of the evil looks.
Damian en deshabille was taking his attractiveness for granted, wasn’t he? Sergio as Damian seems to be not so much in charge as usual. It’s fun to see him in a role where he’s more of a subordinate and a little uneasy.
I don't have a thing to wear to the party, but I'll find something. Hope Fernanda can do the same.
La Paloma

If tonight's party lasts for the rest of the week does that mean we should prepare for tequila the rest of this week?

It didn't occur to me until you mentioned it, but Damian is sort of like Vlad. Vlad is not firmly footed in reality and Damian has an ego that distorts reality. Another thing, how come Damian uses anger and threats to get his way with Prissy and Vlad but completely bows down to Barbara?

Looking forward to tonight's encounter between Damian and Franco. They both have anger management issues? THIS is so exciting. Text message to both guys: Let's not pretend to be friends.

Connie...Men and women have different ideas about "what solves everything".

For guys, going to bed really puts the matter to rest. They can't understand why in God's name we want to "talk about it". Why not just enjoy some good sex, relax and let the tension go?

So both sides sees the other camp as way off base. Just another reason why relationships are so much fun!

Jane - my best guess is that HD requires upgraded or special equipment that Looneyvision doesn't have the money to buy. They're nearly bankrupt as it is. And perhaps Telerisa doesn't film in HD?

All I can say is we have HD TVs all over the house and the only ones with really good Looneyvision reception is the one with the Comcast DVR (digitial tuner) and the TV with built-in digital tuner that picks up a Univision digital channel version as well as the analog version. The analog version is still crummy reception but that's the one I can still get CCs on.

Sandy in TN - how is your Univision reception? Are you on satellite or Comcast? Digital tuner box/DVR or cable from wall to TV?

How I long for the simple days when we simply plugged in a TV and watched it.

Bonney and LaPaloma - Dam bows to Barb because she is the only one putting out "good sex". Barb's goofy smile is probably because Dam is the only one putting out "good sex". Do you suppose that they will have a reunion tonight at the party, maybe in the broom closet? It is time to turn on the Margarita machine.

rsk

Thanks, Melinama. I enjoyed the short and the extended version of your recap.

Connie, the designer voodoo doll was actually kinda cute. It looked satiny with tiny little pins stuck in it not those gigantic ones. Frightened and screaming Bambi huddled in a corner was funny but extremely exasperating. As someone mentioned, why not keep the cute doll as evidence. Moving back with Santiago in his rom probably will never cross her little mind.

By extending this t n, they have unfortunately made our stars a little dumber with their stupid actions...Fr/Ed, the teenager, with the incessant calls and Fer with her lax cell phone use and even going wth Dam to a hotel in the first place. I was thinking a coffee shop would have been a good place.

IF Univision switched to HD all the stars would look thinner and taller as they now stretch out the picture to fill the whole screen. F C would be more handsome so I.m for it. GinCA

Doris,

We have Comcast, but we only have one "box", on my husband's game TV. The Univision is good there. On "my" television I have a straight cable, no box connection and Univision is terrible, but we live close to the WSM tower and that causes a lot of interference especially on the local channels. We thought everything would be ok after the conversion, but it didn't help. When we build up our nerve, we'll try to get the Univision and local channels fixed again, I just can't cope with the Comcast representatives now, enough other irritating things to deal with!

Melinama..you are the best, great recap with lots of irony, thanks.

Girls, I'm in on the tequila party. I wanted begin early with a Margarita at lunch, but thought better of it, I need to get home first! I'm not worried about what to wear to the PARTY, there are such crazy, crazy outfits on this show, anything will do!

Sandy in TN

Alborada Disc 3 side 1--cat fight and the best love scene I've ever seen! Whew! I wish I could open my door and see FC standing there!

What to wear, what to wear? I don't have a thing to wear. I think maybe I'll just wear sweats. Isn't that what Esteve will be wearing?!

If I found a doll with pins sticking out of it on my bed I'd say, "Great I have a new pin cushion." I certainly wouldn't start to cry and hide in a corner. Anyone else?

Why Fer's question to Damian "where have you been hiding" matters: Two reasons. 1) Because Vlad swore to Fernanda, multiple times, that he didn't know where Dam was staying. Fer already has a good idea that he was lying, but it would be nice to have proof. 2) more compelling - she knew that Pris was visiting Vlad. When she finds out that Dam was staying with Vlad, she'll wonder if Pris knew too...

What I kept wondering was, why didn't Franco send Fer a text? She could have seen his message right away and deleted it. Beanie beanie beanie beanie...

I think one reason Damian threatens Pris and Vlad, but is nice to Babs, is because he wants revenge on Babs and still holds out hope that he'll get his $3 million.

Glad I'm not the only one trying to FF through Aurora's scenes and then realizing that I'm stuck in real time.

I was thinking that was the most unthreatening, cute, upscale-looking voodoo doll ever. She should have picked it up and given it a hug. And brought it to show the witch next day.

I already know what I'll be wearing for tonight's party: pajamas.

I think I saw Esteve at the party in the avances last night. He was wearing proper grownup fancy party clothes. No sweatpants. Phew.

Ah darn Julie! Now I have to go shopping. Do you think Venus will wear her leopard print bra?

I might have to spring for a bottle of Patron for the party. Not sure what I'll wear, but it won't be a Brownie dress!

I think I think that Fern wants to know where Dam has been because Barb was able to find him. When Fern last saw him Dam borrowed bus fare so where'd he get a throw-away cell phone for Barb to even place a call him? And why would he contact Barb anyway? And not contact his mother or Fern? Fernanda wants to know and all inquiring minds want to know. That leaves out DimWatt and Anibal and Cad and Prissy can't afford to support asking the question. Hee-hee-hee, Franco knows .
What I can't even imagine reasons for is why Marg and Jancinto don't ever want anybody to tell anybody any thing.

Maybe she'll wear some of her wedding trusseou(sp?) *giggles*...

Bonney, I think Jacinto wants to run everything by FrEd so as not to unwittingly mess up the plan.

The burning question that I have, is Gardenia invited to the party as a guest or will she be serving? I hope that little detail has been worked out. In any case I don't think she will be thrilled by the presence of the lovely Lovely Norton. Should be fun.

Did anyone else notice how curt Eddie was with our DDenia last night? He dismissed her with a very chilly, Gracias. Is that anyway to treat DD?

Carlos

Sandy in TN - Well I have wondered for years if my house is the only one with crummy Univision reception on the box-less TVs with only cable-to-TV connection, like yours. Some of our TVs are worse than others. I wonder what's up with that???
We live near the Ch. 2 tower and I hear your pain! Ghosting galore for Ch. 2, we've had Comcast out several times over the years, only solved by a digital box, of which we only have one.

Doris,

I guess we could buy another box, but I hate to let Comcast "win"!

Sandy in TN

Actually the voodoo doll looked a lot like the Pillsbury Doughboy.

Will Aurora enjoy herself & what will she wear? Will Santiago wear his leather wrist thingies with the dangling leather thingies?

Gardenia might not even recognize Venus, has she been around for the My Fair Lady makeover?

Another loose end is the Gonzo will.

Lets make a list of all the loose ends, that is if we have enough space.

I'll start

The will
The $3mil explanation & the other missing money in Lucero's acct
The expired powdered milk
Lucio
The letters from Fer
Dr O
The real Franco Santoro

In addition to the big ones,
Aurora's padre
Fr/Ed's padre
Padre Bosco
Babs finding her real hija
Anibal finding out he shoots blanks
Camilo smackdown by Jacinto, Erika, Natasha, Fr/Ed, Fernanda, Santiago, Kaiser, is there anyone else besides us?
Lili's reunion with her family
The really big one, the exposure of the evil Babs.
And Gonzo finding a brain.

Vario- loved the list!

Damian has always had a cell phone, but he has a car somewhere, why is he having Vlad chofer him around?

Beth, Ithink you are right about Jacinto wanting to keep everything quiet till Eddy sez OK. Jacinto is not accustomed thinking about complicated things, understands the dangers, and doesn't want to be the one that messes up.

I, too have been wondering what Denia's role will be at the party. I think she'll be serving, but able to see all that happens.

I'm pulling the cork out of my Casa Noble Anejo for the fiesta...

Two more loose ends:

- That envelope that Artemio left for "Bosco's Messenger"

- The old dude who Babs kicked down the hill

Tonight's tequila will be Cazadores Blanco. Blanco because I like its sharpness, and Cazadores because I'm on a budget. (The farther away you get from Mexico, the more expensive that stuff gets; Cazadores is damn good for the price compared to what the others cost and taste like. Also, they brought us Destilando Amor.)

BTW, while I'm rambling about what I eat, I made a REALLY simple pozole (hominy, chicken stock, garlic, good chili powder, oregano, leftover pork; simmer and add lime juice; enjoy) this weekend and could not believe how incredibly good it was, especially with how little effort was involved. Yum yum. Now it's all gone. :(

More loose ends: the envelope from Artemio to Fr/Ed. And the poor guy that Barbie kicked down the hill. There's a little girl running around out there too!

Good list Variopinta.

That sounds really good Julie. Now I'm really hungry.

For the list:

Gonzo's car, the Fer/Ed necklace, and the $$$ white horse.

Sandy in TN

Sandy in TN - Make sure you have the right kind of cable. A couple of years ago we changed our out and it helped. We have 4 TVs, 2 with boxes and 2 without and have no problems getting a clear UNI picture on any of them. I will check with my son and see what the correct cable is. The old coaxial stuff doesn't work with the new signals (or so they tell me).

rsk

Thanks, Melinama, great, succinct recap.

I can see why Damian didn't want to answer question number 2, where he was hiding. But why not answer No. 1 (why he changed his mind about Babs, not hating her now). He could have told Fernanda that he DOES still hate Babs (which is somewhat true), and that he and Fernanda can work together to bring down Babs. That he was only pretending to go along with Babs to get back to Fernanda. This might have worked better than his dodgeball routine, which didn't score too many points.

"Dam" fine recap, Melinama! You are terrific at boiling right down to the basics and making it downright hilarious. Thank you!!!
===========
Question: Why hasn't Fernanda gotten voice-mail on her cell plan by now? D'oh!

As for Abora, the hubster and I had a hell of a snicker-fest with the voodoo dollie. I mean it wasn't exactly Chuckie, ya know? I could understand her screaming fits if the thing was levitating, turning its head in circles or spitting pea soup at her, but come on!

Yum! Juile, what time is dinner? Pozole is so good, so easy, should go good with that Cazadores, and some really fresh corn tortillas.

hombre- good points about Dam's explanations. I have a feeling that Fer isn't going to settle for what he's told her so far.

Que empieza la fiesta!

Julie
2 good ones

The will
The $3mil explanation & the other missing money in Lucero's acct
The expired powdered milk
Lucio
The letters from Fer
Dr O
The real Franco Santoro

Aurora's padre
Fr/Ed's padre
Padre Bosco
Babs finding her real hija
Anibal finding out he shoots blanks
Camilo smackdown by Jacinto, Erika, Natasha, Fr/Ed, Fernanda, Santiago, Kaiser, is there anyone else besides us?
Lili's reunion with her family
The really big one, the exposure of the evil Babs.
And Gonzo finding a brain.

- That envelope that Artemio left for "Bosco's Messenger"

- The old dude who Babs kicked down the hill (Macario)

Variopinta - add to the list:

Artemio Bravo's big secret that Soledad & Fr. Bosco know.

Just thought I'd bring this up. Why do so many people watch the telenovelas & don't even understand the language? They are so much better than the U.S. soaps that go on, & on & on. I think some are older than I am. The novelas have a beginning and an end, thankfully.

Oh, & enjoy la fiesta!!!

Doris,
That's the main event.

Doris, that is the key to many of the other questions. Carlos

Melinama~~ I always love to read your no nonsense recaps. Loved the title, and I believe that under many circumstances champagne, blue eyes, and an unbuttoned shirt actually can do the trick if a guy like Fr'ed isn't part of the equation. Sorry, Monstro, Shorty is thinking about TBLMOE. Connie~~~That was a great love scene in Alborada, verdad ? Amor Real is filled with love scenes...the most I've ever seen in a novela. That is your next assignment. And you'll be happy to know that Alborada has a great ending.

Hi ,
Your work on the blog is fantastic. I’m influenced in a positive way.

Specifically, I got some nice information in this page http://caraycaray.blogspot.com/2009/06/meps-629-will-champagne-blue-eyes-and.html

If you are interested, I would like to exchange links by placing a content link in your website. Don’t you think it would be nice for both our sites?

I’m waiting for your response.
Regards,
David
