MEPS Wed. 7/15 - Cap. 107 - And Now From The Worst Lyrics Ever of The Very Best of Paul Anka - You're Having My Baby?
Prayer Flags in the trees surrounding Devils Tower, a sacred place to many people
Good evening, here begins my last recap for the time being. Jody will become the regular Wednesday recapper for "Colunga es Para Siempre" aka" Mañana es Para Siempre"
From review: Where do you have to go? says a puzzled Ed. Fernanda rushes to the hospital, Errika and Franco show up Santi is still unaware of his fate at home as the surgeon assures them the operation was a success but all thanks go for saving him to the young man here, she indicates Santiago.
Damian wants to know if Fernanda still loves him.
New/Old Stuff:
Barbara tells Gonzolo they have to have patience and for him to come home and beware the rain (cantaros = pitchers) and things that go bump in the night, in her satin robe. Her thought bubbles as always are snidely, I hope you sleep well so you can receive the news of your shot son-in-law.
Unbeknown to her, the not so dead son-in law is whining from his hospital bed about everyone giving him the cold shoulder even his wife. He swears he could do anything for her and again says he can't bear to live without her. It is all my fault, I have no right to hope for anything from you, he wheedles with his best victim voice. She looks confused but trying her best to be cheerful with this difficult patient.
Gonzolo comes in with umbrella dripping, talking to Santiago on his cell phone to hear that Damian has survived the surgery. Surgery? Keep him informed! Santi says he should be on his feet by tomorrow. As he walks into the living room, he further tells Anibals who is sipping whisky not milk in his robe so cozy on a rainy night and hears that Damian has dodged the bullet. Anibals dryly observes that it would have been just as well if he had not dodged it. That's cold says soggy Dad. Anibal doesn't want to argue with Daddy much less at this hour. He slugs his drink down to emphasize how much he doesn't want to argue.
Esteve is waiting for Eduardo/Franco to celebrate. And Why? Venus is a brilliant student. Esteve explains his elaborate plan to inveigle Camilho into further ungentlemanly behavior by baiting him with the siren Lovely with her beauty and delicacy which will surely be driving Cami crazy. Before he has time to tell us what this is all about, Ed/Fred tells him how close he came to having Fernanda find out at the police station that his license said Eduardo Juarez. He was sweating bullets but was ironically saved by the husband.being taken to the Red Cross.
Camilho shows Lovely into his apartment. This is precious, she caresses the horsey painting looking all around. And it is reserved just for you. I love it. You love it? He wants to get the corkscrew (sacacorchos) but why is she still sad, what is bothering you. Well it is late and it is time for you to leave. Yeah he says, putting his coat on without putting up a fuss. Will you wait up to hear that I get home alright. Do you like me?? says the uncharacteristically uncertain Camilho. He offers to stay, what would be wrong with that?, she oozes that for her to spend the night with a man she must first love him. And until now she hasn't been in love with anyone. And you don't love me??? She taunts and teases him with how important the first time will be. She evades his caress as the confused Cami swears but he is already in love with her. She smiles that siren smile.
Franco in that infernal set of high buttoned pj's notices the envelope from behind the pillow sham. He fumes, cracks the kinks in his neck, and the music turns dangerous.
*****
Gardenia the wicked is giggling in her bed. She is too pleased with herself at leaving the little message for Eduardo to find (dejo ese recadito chica y pega). His life and plans are going to go astray. Oh my Eduardo, my Eduardo, my Santorito.
Next morning, Franco shows the letter to Esteve, who else now knows that he is Eduardo? this says, who you have to save is Fernanda Elizalde this is annoyingly anonymous.
Martina wants to give Lili her chocolate before it is cold and I am going to give you your little pill that the doctora prescribed (recetó) Before she gives it to her the phone rings, the medicine goes into her pocket. Lili remembers that Ciro promised to come take her for a walk. Going to the window, there he is waving. The church choral chanting and his little beckoning make her grin.
Franco was on the other end of the call and he happily hears that Lili seems more cheerful and alert. The new medicine must be working says the confident Franco.
Franco asks who came yesterday but the guilty curls abobbing Gardenia wants to ply Ed with coffee and cookies and giggles that nothing has happened, no one came. Could it have been Fernanda suggest Esteve? Gardenia doesn't know how to use computers so that lets her out. But Fernanda Elizalde only has eyes for her husband. Oh the conclusion jumping is at Olympic event levels.
Over at the Cruz Roja, the cheerful Fernanda comes to the whining slit eyed Damian's bedside, he is depressed/dopey (deprimida) from the anesthesia, cheerful but still in that damned yellow dress she promises she will take care of him.
Esteve calls the robed Venus to check out her progress. She thinks Cam is in love and Esteve assures her that he is not in love with Lovely, just trying to get her into bed and will try till the wee hours (madrugada) to achieve just that. She is impressed with the apartment but complains, you couldn't even poison rats here, there isn't even any coffee in the house and she is hungry. Camilho is in the other room calling Lovely. He enters to see her modestly greet him in her robe.
Fernanda and Santi move the squealing Damian from the wheel chair to the bed at the hacienda Elizalde. when Barbara sweeps in followed by puppy Gonzo and tells him how worried they have been. I will recuperate really soon Damian says as his eyes shoot daggers at the simpering Barbinator and Santi mentions that Aurora wasn't feeling well and he needs to go find her. She must be around here somewhere. (Oh these murder attempts are so distracting for keeping track of everyone). Barbara says Santi is our hero as she cuddles on the shoulder of the brainless Gonzo as the plot sickens.
*****
Santi goes to look for Aurora creeps into his old room, I have returned. I am here. How do you feel? still a little sick? Are you bathing. Aurora Where could she be? donde estará).
Barbara wants Santi to eat breakfast with them they are so proud she says of what he did for Damian. Santi is frantic to search for Aurora. Barbara sweetly suggest, Surely she went out for a walk so what do you feel like having for breakfast (antoja de desayunar). Santi turns his back and walks out of the dining room.
Back at the whining Lovely who is afraid of what her uncle Esteve is going to say when she calls him. Cami strokes her leg and says. tell him that now is the time for her to make herself more independent.
Oh her cell phone to Esteve, Lovely tells him, I don't want you to worry It isn't what you thinking, my friend is very decent. And I stayed the night in his apartment but he didn't stay here and is very respectful. Do you realize that he says his place is mine.
Congratulations exclaims, Esteve, that is to say we have Cami Elizalde in our hands.
Ciro has Lili in his hands and follows him out the gate in the lane where the safe house is which has been opened for a gas delivery.
The nurse Adolfina talks to Obregon. We hear his voice say, But tell me Adolfina what did Barbara die of? She assures him she has no idea. Yes she was so young the poor thing,
Martina walks saying she better find the tray (charola) clean. Where is she, she checks the bath , the closet and where are you hiding. Lily she whinnies Nina Liliy Where are you. She runs around the flower bedecked excellent apartment. Where have you gotten to (se metio). The door is open, Oh my...
Ed says who do you think could put the envelop on my bed. Who knows the phone rings . The call is somkehting important. It is Martina who has news. Franco screams, How could Liliana disappear? Gardenia may realize that Ed isn't going to have time to ponder the silly letter.
*****
Liliana walks into the rape forest calling out to Cjiro where did you go? I have to find you she is on hte highway. Martina is crying to Ed and describes how she had breakfast, she went to the kitchen and Liliana slipped . It didn't occur to me to tie her (atajarla) Franco says stay put I will let you know what we will do.
Martina drops to her knees to pray to the Virgencita for Liliana's safe return.
Santi looks for Aurora and ask Raimundo in the horse barn if he has seen her. He hasn't but Santi adds, if you do see her, to tell her I am looking for .her.
Camilo asks ironically is it your caveman (cavernicola) of an uncle who has you depressed? Lovely say, I feel terrible for the sin and deception while Camilho attempts to embrace her from all angles, what is his problem? She returns, That I will only leave the house in the arms of my husband. I am clear that the uncle must think the best of you and me. Would it help if we tell him that I am a suitor (pretendiente) She is sure that if uncle knows she is in Camilo Elizalde's apartment that the business with Power Milk will be over.
Franco swears that he has to tell Fernanda about Liliana's disappearance. While Fernanda gives pills, tea and sympathy. I don't want you to think so badly of me, she protests but he adds, Do you still love me?
Ed says I gave my word that I would protect Liliana . What am I going to tell her . Esteve counsels that he should wait to tell Fernanda. Right now she is too worried about her recovering husband. Liliana perhaps just went for a walk and will come back on her own. Even with the extreme conditions you are living in you must maintain your calm! counsels Esteve.
Ed calls Martina. Did the guards looked all over the property, they saw her leave but didn't think anything was wrong. I will die if they don't find Liliana. Meanwhile, Liliana is walking on the highway looking distracted and now can't see Ciro.
Artemio wants results, in 24 hours he demands they determine the whereabouts (paradero) of Liliana.
Martina is worrying about looking in the eyes Fernanda and what will she tell her? Eduardo says, don't tell her anything She mustn't know right now.
Damian is pressing for love and reassurance from Fernanda who is still saying things are strange and she is still confused. Damian says with My heart in my hand, tell me the truth is there someone else?
*****
The maid is cleaning Aurora's room when Santi comes in again and has not seen her? Tomasa wants to offer him breakfast. Where did you go Aurora whey didnt' you leave me a note? Suddenly he looks in the dresser drawers and all her things are gone. He runs down the stairs. Barbara asks didn't you find her? Have you looked for her in the chapel, she spends hours in there, says Barbara all honey tongued. But as he bolts out toward the chapel, she adds You are wasting your time and not even with a magnifying glass (ni con lupa) are you going to find your little girlfriend.
Barbara has one more emoting scene for Gonzo, I just heard from Obregon. Oh, my anguish at hearing from that man, she cries and sinks into a chair for Gonzo. Though we needn't worry she is fine. Thanks be to God, answers Gonzo. We will comply with all the demands. It would be counter productive to pressure him. Our hands are tied. We must get the money by tomorrow to save the live of our little Liliana. Gonzo weeps, Barbara grins.
Damian takes more meds Fernanda looks worried. Fernanda, why are you so distant from me? She remembers that Franco said, Erika and I are engaged and we are to be married. Fernanda answers Damian There isn't anyone else. What is stopping (frena) you from being like we were. Is there something to impede that we continue to be married? I married you for my whole life, says Fernanda without enthusiasm. Come close. please. I love you little one (pequeña) and I want us to have a child. He holds her hand in a vice grip. The End.
Friday we will see: Fernanda tells Ed on the phone she must see him as soon as possible. Barbara overhears having time to be everywhere at once and smiles. Damian has something unhappy to face. Everyone is finally in clean clothes.
Pasofino you have the night off tomorrow night for the Premios Juventud which preempts normal programming the entire evening.

"Beam me up, Scotty." I was laughing and so distracted by Eddie's jammies that I didn't hear what was in the letter with the big type. Who knew he was a Trekkie.
GinCA
We will count on hearing from you from time to time and sharing in your great adventures by proxy, amiga. Enjoy.
Awww, man! Now Lillian has wandered her ditzy ass after a glowing ghost and is going to fall into the hands of Arty probably. My sympathy is way past thin: I'd rather mock her now than see this character victimized again and endure Santi's slobbering. Barb the puppet Mistress has pulled a string and perfectly dispatched one of her dummies (Abora) and Steve has suddenly become a dummy believing DD didn't place the letter.
It's official: I hate Loave-ly and with that frickin slime ball Cad it's even more loathesome.
That damned Babs is having her way too much, the whole stoopid family deserves her and I'm tired of her phoney fanting spells. Recappers, I really need your wit now, I know it's my choice but look likes time to bail. There are no goodies in this thing!
Khalilah
"As the plot sickens" is soooooo apropos. I'm off next week on vacation so I won't be watching. I think I need a break...MEPS is draining. Too much like FELS, with relentless bad/sad/mad. At least the dead bodies aren't piling up; so far, we have just one old man whom the world has forgotten.
Dam's slitty eyes and dancing eyebrows scream I AM A LIAR. I'm surprised he was willing to move back to the Elizalde palace. I don't think I'd want to be living under the same roof with the woman who shot me. Deflowering a virgin isn't worth a bullet (well, what do I know...I'm a woman).
Maggarita
:-}
Is Lovely supposed to be whining like that? It's driving me crazy. It's making Cad crazy too. But that's a good thing.
Why don't they suspect DDenia? She looks so guilty when they ask her.
Dam and his squinty eyes--ack
Fernanda slept in her yellow dress at the hospital. Glad to see her change into something different. :)
Ibarramedia
Things are really slow in this TN if the only thing most of us notice are the clothes.
rsk
I'm probably alone but I like Lovely! I'm enjoying seeing the tables turned on callous Cad. It's only a matter of time until the sticky spider web she's weaving traps the filthy fly Camilo.
Khalilah, I hope you'll stay a while longer. Right now, only the depressing storylines for Lili and Aurora are moving forward but things will have to change eventually.
That said, Franco and Esteve's continuing failure to realize Denia is behind some of the mischief is beyond belief.
Diana in MA
This enfadosa really is creating extra time for detailed wardrobe discussion. I am surely disappointed that Ed/Fr is giving us the covered shoulder, those jammies were maddening. But did you notice even Gardenia is in up to the neck night wear. Must be disappointing to our guy readers. Fernanda does change into another cheerful cute outfit to show off her lovely shape.
I looked at my wording and think I said whine, whining too many times but really, they were almost as bad as Aurora's perpetual tear stained cheeks.
Damian does not make a good patient and a Nurse Cheryl here would not be able to maintain professional cheerfulness since I so wanted to box his ears even though his leg hurt. He is recovering fast though. But isn't Damian turning into the energizer bunny, he just keeps on coming back from Barbara's plots and traps.
Judy, I will definitely be chiming in on the blog. I love this little community so much too.
Eh... Fr/Ed and Esteve are no Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson. It's elementary, my dear Franco, who else was in your house on the night of the party AND the night the envelope was left on your pillow? It's not as if just anyone can sashay past your armed guards.
I've decided that the only time I like Santi is when he's with Fernanda. They have such a sweet and supportive relationship. It's that icky-poo stuff with Aurora that drives me nutzo. But, I have to admit I am kind of worried about our little Abora wandering about by her lonesome. Maybe she'll hook up with Lily out here somewhere.
Khalilah, as the old back-in-the- day song said, "Please stay just a little bit longer..." Always enjoy your remarks.
Jeff, If you're on today, I left you a very late OT message at the end of yesterday's recap so as not to interrupt the flow of today's comments.
Jackie
Susanlynn, it still escapes me too what the brilliant Esteve is trying to create here. That is an interesting theory that Camilo might be enchanted into marrying a mud wrestler.
Also good luck with your flower photography. It sounds like a great way to get hooked. I don't have a functioning macro lens just now to get the best shots. I still am blown away by the beautiful flowers in all the telenovelas after two years in this world. I know that Mexico has luscious flowers. I have particularly enjoyed the flowers in Liliana's hideaway. Too bad she isn't taking time to smell them... poor Liliana. I just hope neither Artemio nor Barbara are out joy riding on that road. And she didn't take her little pill when Martina got called away to answer the phone.
Diana in MA and Jackie, bless you! I so enjoy this community and novelas are almost the only tv I watch anymore. Rape, murder, shootings, old men laying forgotten in the bottom of a ravine. . .I need our galan baring his biceps and enfolding our heroine in loving embraces with breathless kisses to balance the mayhem. I can hang on with mute, FF and of course the witty, funny recaps and comments of all youz guys which are often better than the show!
Khalilah
I love the photo. It looks to me like a swarm of gaily-colored mini-ghosts. It gives me a sense of energetic calm. Clearly you have the eye and skill of a true artist.
I did get a bit of perverse pleasure seeing Dam suffer a bit as Santi and Nanda put him back to bed. He complained like a true patient.
I thought Babs looked very prim and proper in her modest outfit. However, it's all too true,"pretty is as pretty does."
Carlos
Like several others, I don't understand how Fr/Ed and Steve can fail to see that DDenia's the one who left the letters and the note. Even the first time they questioned her, she looked so guilty that I was sure they'd catch on at once. Duh....
The one good thing about last night's episodio was the absence of Abora. Though the vulnerable Lili wandering down the road more or less took her place.
Speaking of Lili, am I the only one who found that Lili and Lovely have similar profiles/hairstyles/something? Several times last night, when the scene shifted to Lovely, I at first thought it was shifting to Lili. I realize that they don't really look alike, but from a certain angle, I got confused several times. Oh well, perhaps I just need a short break. How considerate of Univision to preempt tonight for something else.
Sincerely, thank you.
Like several others, I don't understand how Fr/Ed and Steve can fail to see that DDenia's the one who left the letters and the note.
Gardenia has a mystical power to cloud men's minds. There, I've admitted it.
Carlos
DDenia could be dangerous if she ever stops to think about A Plan.
Cute jammies and what a change up in writing to have the galan actually sleep in anything. I think its a turn on because it allows for undressing, slowly. Bodice rippers for women and slow peel for men. Yep, I think I like that.
Kind of strange he's willing to stick to that principled business behavior yet write out his children in his will. Wait. Reminds me of his son, Anibal.
Tks so much Cheryl & buena suerte on you photography.
Does anyone know what the letter said? I thought I caught sth about taking care of Fernanda. I thought Gardenia just made a copy but apparently it's sth typed out on a computer. And the guy at the internet said sth about getting even with her novio I think.
I guess Camilo can take anything until he gets them into bed. How can he listen to that mierda?
At least I don't have to race home from school tonight, no novela.
Gardenia clouding men's minds, must be true, Carlos. How wesle could we explain that Eddy and esteve can't see that the only person that's been in the houseleft the letters from Nanda, and the note on the almoada? I couldn't understand what Eddy said when he read it. Help, anyone?
Lil and Abora both on the lam. Surely they will meet up, and with Ciro's fantasma to guide them, will exact revenge upon Babs, find and punish Arty, save the family, and cure the common cold, but that's in the sequel.
dorado dave
Gardenia was just plain scary the way she was tossing and turning and cackling in bed.
I know Lili missed yesterday's dose, but has she been taking her medicine at all, or has she been hiding the pills just like old times at the manicomio? Because she seems to be losing her marbles big time. I was afraid she would jump out the window when Ciro was beckoning to her.
What does Babs plan to do in terms of producing Lili if she pays off Obregon? She could claim that Lili was killed anyway, but then Lili could show up later, making Babs look like the lying BOW she is...
Have Lili and Aurora ever met, or was Aurora off with Santi on their little detective trip during Lili's brief return home (ended by the scary soup incident)?
Gonzo, Gonzo. He makes I Juan A Brain look like mensa material. And whatever happened to his enthusiastic agreement with Fr/Ed's idea that they wouldn't hand over the dough until they saw a photo of Lili with that day's newspaper?
The Venus/Loavely actress is a total knockout. She looks even better without much makeup at all. But the simpering babytalk about her mean uncle is wearing thin. The scene just goes on too long. But you gotta hand it to our Orange Boy actor, he was pretty funny doing physical comedy: almost going for the nalgas, moving in to kiss her neck while she bobs and weaves.
Gardenia's letter is a great big Que the Hell anticlimax. What in the world does she get out of Fr/Ed protecting Fernanda? He could still protect Fernanda and carry on with plans to marry Erika. The way she was giggling I thought it was going to be a real zinger.
I'm with Khalilah. Liliana is mas loca que una cabra. I'm past caring about her at all. Watching her trot down some country road makes me snore.
And, Cheryl, I don't know about boxing his ears, but if I were Fernanda, I would not have been able to restrain myself from slapping him during Damian's slitty-eyed whine. And the schizophrenic plot seems to be saying he really wants her to love him even though he supposedly thinks she's doing the horizontal boogie with Franco Santoro. Sheesh!
Anyway, I wonder how Fernanda will continue to fend off Damian. The man is a chameleon who changes colors depending upon the weather. Maybe a better description for him is a weasel. Yes, that's right. He weasels out of one mess he's made and is still trying to weasel himself back into Fernanda's life. She needs to be reminded to say, "Damian, what part of no don't you understand?"
As Khalilah observed, things are really going downhill for the good characters. But I've observed in other novelas (such as Querida Enemiga), that just when things are so frustrating that you can't watch anymore, the next day, something good happens. I don't know if we've reached bottom yet, but hopefully the writers will rescue us in a day or two.
I also like the idea of Aurora running into Liliana. I mean, there's only one forest and one road, right?
Yeah the message that Eduardo needs to save Fernanda was all that we learned and it is so poorly thought out. Ed seemed annoyed that someone didn't even have the decency to sign it but, hey fella, who would do the big type thing but someone screaming for attention and the only other choice is Errika who
1) does not know that Franco is Eduardo and
2) would not send him to defend Fernanda instead of paying attention to her. Feeble plot line, feeble!
http://www.univision.com/content/channel.jhtml?chid=5&schid=25936
Best of luck, Cheryl. I will definitely miss your recaps, but I'm glad to know you will still be hanging around. -Liliana
Novelera, I agree about Camilo's conic acting - I can't stand the character, but I appreciate getting to see this side of the actor!
Pros: His current strategy is very, very cruel and inconsiderate. Errika may be a dope, but she's not mean and she doesn't deserve what he's doing to her. She could also be very helpful to him if she knew more.
Cons: Her dopiness could make her dangerous, though still probably not as dangerous as Gardenia who is also spiteful. Also, it would be kinda hard to tell Err only half the story; he'd probably have to tell her about Fernanda too and Err would no doubt be hurt, if not angry, to find that Fer was the one he was using her against.
Speaking of Gardenia, what on earth is she trying to accomplish with that letter to Eduardo?? Is she trying to drive him back to Fer's arms for some reason? Am I missing something really clever, or is it as dumb as I think it is??
It will be annoying if we have to put up with much more of it, though. And as someone said, she’s trying to be his type of prey: the very weak.
It’s great seeing Cad at the mercy of his prey. I don’t think they’re going to get married, though. That’s too permanent, and Esteve said she couldn’t fall in love with him—not to say she won’t—but it’s not part of the plan.
Julie: “Have Lili and Aurora ever met…” I don’t think so. It would be funny for Dim and Dimmer (ha!) to run into each other and hang out for a few episodes, not knowing their respective connections to the Elizaldes. It would also be cool and ironic to see them put their heads together and come up with a thought, er a plan, however tiny, to punish Babs in some way.
Kalilah, stay! Do it for the team!
Cheryl, I’ll really miss your recaps, and as a serious amateur photographer, wish you the best! Can’t wait for your return!
What I don't understand is why Ciro's ghost led Lili away. Usually he is doing right by her. I thought he was Ciro the friendly ghost! :)
JeffMN
I've been thinking of that old man down in the ravine. Why haven't we heard??? Could it be he didn't die??? Maybe he's suffering from amnesia from the fall and didn't remember being with Babs??? BUT, will get his memory back and she will get hers....maybe...???
Ann-NYC
Also, I noticed that the term for magnifying glass, lupa, is similar the English word loupe, the small magnifier jewelers use.
Connie, yes, Barbs has a itchy looking dress with a very dangerous slit!
Khaliah, I too have been wondering if I should stop as I did with FELS, but there isn't anything else to watch at this point and I feel that I am learning. I am waiting for Vidas Cruzadas with Kate and Guy, but I hope MEPS turns around before then.
Dress historians, did we figure out how much time has lapsed in this novela using your system?
Sandy in TN
Julie, good point about Fr/Ed and Erika. He's telling Esteve he's really going to marry her, but he'll have to tell her. I don't think a marriage is legal with a fake name!
I've racked my brain and I can't remember if Aurora was at the Elizaldes when Lili made her visit home and was traumatized by Evil Babs. Thus, I don't remember if they've ever met.
It's not looking good for the old guy.
(And I was wrong about the beige dress with the cummerbund; apparently the dress was white. I don't have a good visual memory for colors!)
Cheryl, I didn't see the photo posted when I commented very early this morning but it is so appropriate to our times. I know I am saying prayers for a lot of people. The flags' colors and the beautiful natural setting makes one feel hopeful.
GinCA
As an aside but definitely with regard to wardrobe, several weeks ago I was in a TJMAX and saw a whole display of the dreaded "brownie dress". I guess it didn't sell well in Macy's. Shoppers probably thought I was nuts I was LOL.
rsk
Lucero's image has been tarnished with her cast off Stevie Nicks wardrobe, but you probably aren't interested in her case are you?!?
rsk, looking back would be a big task, but the outcome would be interesting.
Sandy in TN
Fern's in a summery sleeveless dress and most of the others dress like it's chilly. Those wardrobe folks are psychotic.
Speaking of losing touch with reality... FrEd is a weak galan, filled with flaws. But, what annoys me most is when there's zero common sense displayed. It takes a super-duper, high-tech beanie or the mute button to get past most of his actions lately.
DDenia may have big boobs, but she would be better off with a brain. She can join the lame brain: Aubora, & Lili (hopefully a temporary situation)...
jb
Artemia wants both of them, he just doesn't know Aurora is alive.
variopinta
I like Stevie Nicks, her music and her clothes at the time and in concert today if I were lucky enough to see her, but that long jacket over slacks and long skirts are the 70's to me!! I think that Stevie's great success after the breakup with Lindsey Buckingham was sweet. Her song, "Stop Dragging My Heart Around" would apply to Eduardo and Fernando as well!!
I'm glad you got to see them in person, I've always wanted to!!
Sandy in TN
My husband loves Boz Scaggs, he was just here and he returns on September 21st. My husband went with my neighbor's husband, they are big music lovers, and they said that the concert was INCREDIBLE!!

Wm Levy, Jacqueline Bracamontes, Daniela Roma, Chantal Andere (I don't know how she missed MEPS, she's in everything), Gabriel Soto (Ladrón que roba el ladrón)
Lili missed the wedding because she wasn't allowed to go home yet.
I think you're right though, Santi wasn't there when Lili was home. He and Aurora were off following, uh, Lamont, whatever that guy's name was who worked for Bravo, and trying to find Aurora's birth certificate.
I'm with Cheryl in wanting Lili to pick up some new clothes before someone finds her. She's still wearing those jogging outfits. "Original Lili" would not have been caught dead in such things.
Susanlynn, maybe you're right that she sees Erika as a more immediate threat and that the letter would drive him toward Fernanda. And Fernanda is already married and, in DDenia's brain, out of bounds.
I didn't hate the brownie dress, really. I would probably wear something like that myself and not look half as good in it, but then, I'm not Fer.
But it really didn't make any sense as a part of Fer's wardrobe. Actually, nothing does. Her wardrobe has no unifying theme. If I had to buy her an outfit, I would have no idea what to get for her. Modest plain brown dress? Fashionable, flattering ecru dress? Friendly-looking yellow dress with strange alien markings? Casual sweater and pants? Who knows? It seems she'll wear whatever happens to be in her closet.
I was just looking at the J. Peterman catalog, and they had several brownie-like dresses. I guess it's "in" at the moment...
Carlos, if anyone's likely to drown, it's Aurora. Between the rain and her tears, I don't know how long she can last!
Gardenia's lapse in reasoning just has to include thinking Fernanda won't be available so she can drive Eduardo away from Errika and into her waiting arms. Her thinking has no element of what Eduardo may want or even the truth of his life long disinterest. In her stunted mental development, it is hard to imagine what she must dream their life would be like. Especially if she thinks so little of him she is blithely playing these nasty childish tricks on him. Actually Camilho and Gardenia are closer in social and psychological adjustment age.
Beth, You are right. I think it would be wonderful if Lili and Aurora teamed up! And the meek shall inherit the MEPS land.
JeffMN, Yes, Ciro has always done right by Lili. I'm wondering if somehow AB's henchmen find out where Lili has been staying, try to kidnap her but are thwarted because she was "spirited" away by Ciro.
Barbara
Barbara, I really, really like your idea that Artemio's henchmen will find the house and it will be empty! What a great outcome that would be if she is in the woods and misses the kidnapping.

I briefly tried to keep track of "days" during LFMB but gave up in disgust when there was a single "day" of story time that took at least two weeks in our time. Yeesh.
Pascal, unlurking
You can't watch all the stuff on Esmas (which belongs to the same media conglomerate as Televisa) because Esmas, Televisa, and Univision would see that as a mutual conflict of interest to let USA viewers watch the telenovelas months before they air on Univision. It might mean lower ratings for Univision and fewer hits to Univision's own website, which in turn weakens Esmas's ability to negotiate with Univision.
Maybe someday Univision, Esmas, and Televisa will get together and come to an agreement about that, but since they're already on less than awesome terms, I wouldn't hold my breath. But maybe they could make agreements about a handful of specific shows.
There's no mention of Vidas Cruzadas anywhere on the Esmas website, so it's not a Televisa show. Maybe Univision produced or contracted this one on their own.
Jardinera – Vidas Cruzadas would have to be U.S. accessible. Looneyvision is a U.S. channel. OMG….it’s probably a Miamivela (a/k/a basura)produced by Looneyvision.
Pascal, you may be right about that. So, should it be Ciro the Happy Hallucination instead of Ciro the Friendly Ghost? :)

Awhile back we talking about other actors/actresses that might have been able to handle acting chores in this telenovela - MEPS.
I mentioned Kate del Castillo as an actress that could have handled Fernanda (actually she could probably have done La Hiena, as well).
Kate popped up on Weeds (a Showtime series) on my DVR tonight. I don't know how long she is going to be in that show. Then, I turned the channel just in time to see that Eugenio Derbez won best Actor in film in Los Premios Juventud for his part in Kate's last movie "La Misma Luna". This was a straight dramatic role - not a comedic one - as he normally plays. I saw that movie and he was terrific. Then, he introduced his wife/girlfriend and it was Alessandra Rosaldo, who we have seen sing on Christina and elsewhere and is also a telenovela actress (I forget which ones I've seen her in.) And, the male presenter of the best actor awward was Guy Ecker, the US citizen of US parents, Brazilian born, male protaganista who was with Kate del Castilla in the Mexican telenovela La Mentira, which I missed. But I saw him vs Edith Gonzales in Salome.
Whew... a small world, this telenovela world...
So, even though Kate del Castillo hasn't been in a telenovela for awhile, her US career seems to be edging along.

P.S. Out of words of wisdom for your rain (or lack of) problem.
From what I can see, it should be readily available in August on their site without any transmission problems as were discussed concerning esmas videos.
But I don't think it's going to be on television, just online. They go on and on about it being the newest "concept".
Silverfox, Kate and Guy are my favorites...maybe not as good looking as FC and Sylvia but great nontheless. I hope we get Vidas Cruzadas somehow.

About "Vidas Cruzadas", It is a webnovela produced by Kate del Castillo, Guy Ecker and the producer of "La Mentira" exclusively for Univision.com website. If you can view the videos on Univision.com, you should have no problem viewing the webnovela. The webnovela will start airing on the website in August. This will be the third novela univision.com has done - the first was audio only. This is the second video webnovela.

These telenovelas give us a playground to talk and think about those dark and gloomy realities while we learn to play iwth our ideas and feelings of virtues and sins writ plain and large. And we have each other as you point out and that makes a huge difference.
To link back to the subject of this blog, the telenovelas give us time to contemplate human feelings of love, hate, greed, generosity, jealousy, peace, spirituality, chaos, all of it. With the power of these computers we sit before communing with people in so many places, I am in awe every time I come on that no one has to be alone unless they unplug. There is always someone to talk to. It is a bit like drawing close to the fire of an evening to talk and tell stories and that has been the base of community for eons.
Carlos - cyberhugs to you after a hard week. Walking the thin balance of detaching while being compassionate often can be difficult.
I like Barbara's post at 10:49 p.m. Good list to remember. I'm with you on the chocolate, too. Red wine gives me sinus trouble, any alcohol bothers my GERD most of the time, so chocolate in moderation is my refuge . . .
Health Insurance companies: don't get me started. However, I make myself remember that approx. 50-75 years ago there was so such thing as health insurance and you either had the money to pay, or died. That perspective keeps me from storming the building ... ermmm .... sending them hate mail.
I detach from it all by watching telenovelas and my sewing. DH, with his golf. The British Open is on this week and he's glued to the TV-DVR, when he's home. :oD
Thanks to all of you. This blog line was absolutely extraordinary. And all this came out of a stupid episode. Another reason to stick around Khalilah!
Carlos, you have a wonderful soul. Peace.

If you are a new poster welcome. I lurked for a while before I began joining all the fun by posting.
Carlos, I'm glad that you are alive and well. I was in the medical profession early on and remember when bills were far less than they are now.

Carlos, we have some lovely clouds this morning, hopefull we will be in the 50% that gets rain today.

Now I supposedly have a job offer (but still don't have the paperwork yet, so still not feeling totally secure and relaxed about it) and feel a lot of relief. But I'm also a little sad because the long commute (more than an hour each way) means I may not have time to haunt Caray, at least during my training period.
After that, I'll be able to work from home a few days a week, so at least I'll get back those 2+ hours on my work at home days, though I may need those hours for catch-up time!
Anyway, that doesn't start till week after next, and maybe I won't be as busy as I think. You're still stuck with me for another 9 days. :)
My son lost his two weeks ago and is still in the grief process.
Things are extremely stressful at my place of employment, as I am the one who is trying to keep the ship afloat (i.e. accounting) for a mid-sized construction company. We're paying the guys in the field working in the hot sun in order not to lose them. And the salaried folks like myself are way behind getting paid, something we chose to do to keep this 35 year old company going.
Hopefully when the economy improves you will find something closer to your home and more to your liking.
Carlos, how in the world do you have time to take care of all those patients, watch TNs, blog like a maniac, and grow sweet corn?
I went to bed early last night too, and had a wild, vivid dream: My grandmother, dead 25 years, was coming to visit. I had to pick her up in a boat, but she didn't get off the bus, and we couldn't find her. I won't bore you with the rest, but I woke up exhausted!
I think Ciro was leading Lili away from the kidnappers. I think he's a ghost and lead her to safety...maybe to Vlad's pad for criminals and crazies. I hope he doesn't lead her to a mud wrestling bar.

I have the paperwork now. PHEW.
I was actually lucky to get a job that was ONLY an hour away... the area where I live is not a high-tech market. When the housing scene improves (A LOT), I'll be able to sell my place and move closer to the jobs.
The only advice I can offer to people is to apply to things that look good, even if you don't think you're a perfect match. I applied to over 100 jobs, most of them in the same field and specialty that I've been in for 20 years. But none of the three interviews I got were for that kind of job. The chances I took on long shots paid off better than the ones that looked like they should have been sure things.
Thanks again for your support, everybody...
Ciro was a good guy. Whether ghost or hallucination, he would never lead Lili astray!
Here are some observations:
First, small ones (no importan):
1. Has anyone else noticed that in scenes in rooms of the Hacienda and Miraflores, the doors are cheesy, e.g., stained plywood? I’m guessing the scenes are taped in studios rather than in those structures. Whereas, the doors in Las Animas, Liliana’s condo, and Grupo Lactos are elegant.
2. Previously. I opined Fr/Ed was driving a white Linclon MKZ. I now I think it’s an MKS. For those not familiar with an S, it’s that ritzy Lincoln we see advertised on TV with a double panel moon roof and a keyless ignition....you just push a button to start.
More important stuff:
1. I sure agree with the horde of you guys who carp about the stars seemingly wearing the same clothing for a week or so. Sure, we’re supposed to know the scenes portray only a day. But you’d think the directors are bright enough to realize that’s not the way it appears. We can almost smell Fernanda’s B.O. from wearing that yellow dress for what seems like 10 days.
2. As Professor Frankie of the Caray Board of Screen Writing, I give MEPS’s writers a big fat F for the after-reading-the letters scene script for Fr/Ed. He’s shown as an insensitive, arrogant jerk toward Fernanda. Yep, that’s what he is when he meets her right after he had spent all night reading 15 years of her love letters to him. In the real world he then would be falling all over her, especially, after having pined for her for 15 years....thinking she didn’t care and then suddenly learning she really did. OK, so soaps aren’t real world. Yet this portrayal is for the birds. It makes many of us dislike Fr/Ed. That’s not good. The director should have said to the writers, “Guys, this stinks! We don’t want to make a bum out of our hero. We have to keep him compassionate, and above all Mr. Nice Guy. Rewrite! Rewrite!”
3. D- at best is what the writers get, for not having Dam, at least initially, wanting to blow the whistle on evil BarBs, for shooting him. They should have had her get to him first, before he could talk to anyone else. She should have threatened him with something like: “If you don’t come up with a robbery tale, I’ll say you were trying to violarme. I shot you in defense. Ferdanda will divorce you, and my Vida will despedir you again. Toe the line, Estupido!” This would have made his robbery tale to Fernanda a lot more plausible.
All for now, Frankie.
On point 1, it's fine with me and less confusing to have people wear the same thing all day, as long as what they wear isn't ugly/frumpy/dorky/annoying.
On point 3, I guess it's because Damian is supposedly a "professional" that he didn't need a warning from Babs to keep quiet. He already knew she'd have a story ready if he turned against her.
Maybe he's still biding his time. He was talking like he had a revenge plan ready when Babs dropped the charges against him... He doesn't seem to be following up on it, but perhaps it's a slow-cooking revenge.
Or maybe his revenge plan wasn't fully developed; maybe this was his "plan":
Damian's Plan for Revenge
1. Wait for the right moment
2. Make my move
3. Ha-ha! Revenge!!
Here is a good corn casserole recipe
1 can each of kernel and cream corn
2 eggs
1/3 cup of sugar
8 oz sour cream
1 stick of butter
1 box of Jiffy corn muffin mix
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
In bowl mix both cans of corn and liquid, eggs sugar and sour cream together. Pour melted stick of butter into a 9x13 baking dish, add mixture into dish and sprinkle the muffin mix over the corn mixture. Mix gently with a fork.
Bake for 30 to 40 minutes. Enjoy!!!
Carlos
Corn? I've never met a corn dish I didn't like. (Granted, I haven't tried very hard to find a gross one. And technically I've never met huitlacoche.)
Novelera, good luck to you in holding the business together. Things are bound to get better.
Beth, I have really good people working with me and helping me out with my farming. I more or less just supervise my agricultural ventures. Plus I truly enjoy what I do.
Frankie, when I first began watching TNs I was fascinated with the doors and how well (actually poorly) they functioned. I figured that most of Mexico's good carpenters must be building houses here in Texas.
Carlos
a/k/a doris.
It was amusing, but Mario (Alberto Estrella) Ricardo's BFF in Pasión was in it. Sin ropa, not one stitch.
He was Esmeralda's 1st husband,Jaime, she had 5 & never divorced & none of them died & all of them still loved her.
Jaime was a rock star turned cab driver.
Ernesto Laguardia was husband # 5, but I have to check again, because I didn't recognize him at all.
It's always interesting to see how many people started watching novelas to escape. I got back into them after nursing my mother through terminal cancer. However frustrating they can get, they are a wonderful escape from reality!

For me it has been a delicious misdemeanor to hang out with you queridos amigos a bit longer than usual since it is my last time (for at least several months). I honestly don't care what you talk about. We are usually so good at staying in line.
I am glad we got off topic onto so many areas: real feelings, shared tough times and delicious recipes. I am going to try that corn one. Thanks Carlos. Do you think it could be adapted to fresh corn? The sweet corn is just coming ripe in New Mexico.

And to Anons, especially that don't leave names so we can get to know you and know what you might really worry about, and to clear up any misunderstanding of what I care about that we talk about, it would never include spoilers, in case anyone is unclear about who I am and what I stand for. I hate to ruin anyone's fun in the surprises to come. Buenas noches.
And. . .somebody maybe already mentioned this, but how are they going to deal with the (real life) pregnancy of the Erika actress? Will they always have a counter or big purse at tummy level, or start bringing in giant teddy bears like they did with Clare on the Cosby show? She's already looking a little thick. I know, let Abora never come back and Santi and Erika rediscover their love for one another and . . .BAM good ole' novela love child!
Khalilah
Writing her out of the story seems unlikely, but given how much this character makes me cringe, I wouldn't mind if they did.
Ooh, ooh - another possibility could be that she'll be pregnant in the story!! It's only been a month since the wedding, right? That's when the Sunkist one dumped her. And you know that her delusional-prone nature could cause her to ignore any pregnancy symptoms until other people start to notice too.
Lots of wonderful comments. Khalilah, please stay. You always say something that makes me laugh.
Cheryl, loved the "class action" suit for Fr/Ed. Sounds fine to me.
I felt warm fuzzies from the coping accounts and the responses. Carlos and Julie, plus all who struggle each day, good wishes for your daily work. This blog is a great refuge to visit, with snark from keen minds, balanced by hearts behind it.
So tired of bogged down action and wardrobe. My hubby likes Fer's current tank top outfit. I hate Barb's fluffy white ruffles. I'm wondering if Cadmilho is thinking he should have eaten the pizza and stayed with the low maintenance girl?
La Paloma
Pascal, thanks for stopping by more lately. We haven't heard from you for a really long time. I am glad to know you are still out there.
Paloma,
Thanks for stopping by for a good bye. You are right we can really use some action here to light a fire under these terrific actors. I just want to see anything happen to advance the plot. I don't need to see Auwahwah Abora shed anymore tears but how can we avoid them she is about to be lost in the dryice forest and her Mommy Dearest is not going out to find her right away.
