Sortilegio - Hi Everybody!

Hi everybody. I'm Connie and I'll be recapping the Thursday night episode of Sortilegio. I studied Spanish from the 4th grade through 3 semesters in college but it is so true that if you don't use it you'll lose it. When I met my boyfriend 5 years ago (he's from Guatemala) it got me interested in relearning Spanish. So I bought some CDs and started watching the Telenovelas and Spanish TV in general. Now I watch in Spanish with no subtitles and get most of it. Occasionally I will just not be able to figure something out and if that is so I'll will let you know so that all you seasoned Spanish speakers and recappers can help me out. I may not have vocab to share right away but I will eventually get there. Looking forward to it. See ya!

Hi Connie - Welcome! and thank you(!!!) for volunteering to recap. I only catch half of what is said in these shows, so telenovelas continue to be my "classes."

Thanks for coming on board Connie! I am taking a recapping hiatus for a while so I'm glad someone is stepping in.

It's amazing how much you can learn. I'm still learning too. You can never stop learning really.

Thanks Ferro. I'm looking forward to it. If I am well-received I'll recap for Corazon Salvaje too. It's another way to learn.

Connie, I'm really looking forward to your recapping. You often look at things from a little different perspective. It'll be fun. I hope the new show has at least a few flaws and obnoxious characters for us to throw rocks at.

Carlos

I'm a whacky kind of gal Carlos. Don't know what to tell you! Thats the great thing about this blog is we are all from different parts of the country and have so many different life experiences to draw on. It really makes it fun.

Welcome to recapping world, Connie. You've already enlivened the 9 pm blog line with your great comments and straight from the shoulder opinions. Should be fun!

Thanks JudyB. You've all made me feel so welcome over the last year or so that I've been following the blog. I'm totally addicted.

Connie - Did you take this on because you heard about a shower scene? (BuaHahahaaaaa)

Busted! How did you know Doris? I hope there is swimming too.

Hi Connie:

Thanks for coming on to recap. I know you'll be great. I've seen many of your comments and they are always so interesting. I'm a beginner and am looking forward to your recaps.

Connie~~~I'm so eager to read your recaps. I always enjoy your comments, so I am looking forward to reading your more indepth take on the show via your recaps. Even if Sortilegio is less than stellar, I have a feeling it will be a fun ride. As Melinama once pointed out to me, the bad telenovelas sometimes provide the most fun. Connie, your comments have always made me see you as a glass-half-full type of girl , so I think you'll make a great recapper. [Case in point, as FELS fell deeper and deeper into a pit of hopelessness, you focused on the swimming and shower scenes...very positive. As Carlos has pointed out , it's always fun to have characters that we can throw rocks at [and even some who are as dumb as a box of rocks...was that Doris's phrase]...and I suspect that Sortilegio will supply us with plenty of both. ~~~Susanlynn, off to correct process paragraphs and especially looking forward to the one entitled ''How to Get a Girlfriend'' written by one of my 18 year old students...just should be interesting...

I agree. The more the show is a stinker the more fun it is. Remember Snofia and her pink frocks?

I do try to be positive and what could be more positive than swimming or showering?

It'll be great to have you to follow. Looking forward to your first of many!!

I know you will do a great job, Connie!

Yea, Connie. Really looking forward to your recaps and so appreciate that you're taking this on; it's quite a commitment and I have much admiration for you. I always enjoy your comments and know I'll love and learn from your recaps. ¡Viva la Connie!

My philosophy is that when life gives you lemons... you gather up all those nice, yellow, beautiful lemons and then go hide in the bushes. The, when the no good dirtbag that gave you the lemons walks by...you jump out screaming die, die, die at the top of your lungs and pound him with all the lemons. You smash them in his ears, in his nose anywhere you can... and when you run out of lemons and he looks at you like WTF? You turn around and get the hell out of there because now he's one real pissed off, no good, dirtbag. How's that for a positive attitude? :P

Connie, I'm positive that I'm going to enjoy your recaps! Oh, and if you ever run out of lemons too quickly please let me know, I have a big lemon tree that dumps lemons all over my backyard all year long.
