MEPS - Wednesday, Sept. 2 - Barbie joins Damian in the fry pan; Camilo is deep in quick sand

EPISODE #136 (#142 in Mexico):

* Don Silvestre and Martina are having a happy father-daughter moment talking about her future wedding to Dr. Carlos; he's overjoyed and will happily bless the day when he gives her away to Dr. Carlos.

* Jacomo, in his really bad italian accent, convinces Aurora and Sister to walk down the street with him to his car -- to retrieve the letter from Santi. Sister is suspicious but agrees to go. Jacomo slaps his forehead over Sister accompanying them.

* Fer grumbles to self about evil Barbinator. A knock on the office door. Fer shouts for Flor to enter. Barbie enters, much to Fer's displeasure. Barb wants to talk to her about convincing Daddy Gonzo to sign the will that gives her everything. Fer spouts off against Barbie. Barb wonders where the nice, respectful little girl went. Fer yells that little girl disappeared the day she learn how evil and hurtful Barbara Greco really is - to lead her father on as the dutiful wife all the while having an affair with her own stepdaughter's husband (Damian). Barb is stunned but not shaken. They have a civilized face-off. Barb congratulates Fer on her bravado. Fer tells Barb to leave her office now.

* The sister and Aurora follow Jacomo down the boulevard to the street corner. They round the corner to the alley where Jacomo's car is parked. Assistant crawls on ground along the opposite side of the car. Ladies climb into the backseat. Jacomo gets in the front and pretends to look for the letter. Man jumps into back and holds the ladies at gunpoint. Ladies are stunned and shaken. Jacomo tells them not to worry. He drives away.

* Barbie and Franco talk on the phone. She solidifies their pact.

* Fer and Flor meet in the office. Fer asks Flor to find the phone number for the convent where Aurora is staying. Fer tells her not to tell Barbie anything about this at all. Flor leaves. Fer works on her computer and makes a telephone call to her father's doctor. The doctor tells Fer something shocking about her dad's real health problem (one-side phone conversation - don't know what the doctor said, only Fer's reaction to it).

* Barb is desperate and calls Damian for an update. Damian briefly and bluntly tells her the plan is proceeding right now. Barb repeats that he is to take Aurora to the summer house. Damian knows that and hangs up. He hides in the trees as he spots Jacomo's car approach.

* Damian gets out and walks to Jacomo. He asks why the sister is there? Jacomo explains and says Aurora is in the car. Damian calls Barbie and tells her that a small situation has occurred and he will call her back. Barbie wants details but only gets a 'click' from Damian hanging up on her.

* Jacomo tells Damian that the plan was successful except for the sister tagging along. Damian orders his cousin to bring Aurora to him.

* Jacomo returns to his car and tries to get Aurora to go with him. Aurora, now really curious, asks why? Jacomo has to do his best song-and-dance routine to convince her to go with him. The sister blesses Aurora. Jacomo walks Aurora to Damian's car. Aurora is surprised to see Damian.

* Mother Superior returns to her office - it's empty. She wonders where is Aurora?

* Damian wants Aurora to come with him. She's upset and full of questions. Damian calmly asks her to get in the car. Aurora agrees. Damian tells Jacomo to wait with the sister while they are talking. In the car, Damian explains that he is there on behalf of someone who loves her. She thinks it's Santi. Damian is vague about who it really is.

* Flor returns to the office to tell Fer the phone number. Fer tells Flor about the family problems with Dad and his will, Barbie, and Camilo. Fer says right now she can only trust Franco. Fer asks Flor to do her a huge personal favor. Flor eagerly accepts.

* Silvestre is having a thorough battery of tests and exams on his eyes.

* Martina waits with Dr. Carlos in the doctor's office. She is worried about Lili, and Franco's plan to rescue her. He says he's right there for her. She's so happy and thankful to have him in her life. He feels the same way about her. They kiss. (AW!)

* Franco is working at his laptop in his office. Erika sneaks in and surprises him. She wants him to go with her to meet with Padre Bosco now.

* Damian continues to talk with Aurora in his car about why he did this scheme to get her out of the convent. Damian wonders why she's at the convent? what happened at the ranch? She says it's because she was found in bed with Camilo - that's why she thinks she's lost her one true love forever. Damian wonders if Camilo was the one who ran her off the ranch. She says no. He wonders about Santi? Does he know the truth? She shakes her head. He guesses, then it was Barbie.

* Barbie is desperate and mumbles in her office. She calls on the cell phone, "Damian, answer! answer!"

* As Aurora and Damian are talking, the cell phone rings. Damian thought bubbles when he sees who is calling, "Suffer, evil one! Suffer!" and doesn't answer the call.

* Barbie leaves a nasty threatening message on Damian's voice mail.

* Damian tells Aurora that this was all Barbie's plan - for him to get her from the convent and take her to the summer house at the ranch. Santi doesn't know anything about it. Aurora is confused and stunned. Damian is intrigued when Aurora starts to feel sick. Aurora demands to return to the convent immediately; Mother S is probably worried about her and the sister by now. She then blurts out to Damian that she's pregnant and her baby's what is most important to her right now.

* Erika walks with Franco from the car towards San Rafael parish church. Franco stops and convinces Erika to wait in the car - he wants to talk with Padre Bosco alone (the excuse is that he will be confessing his sins in private to the priest).

* Flor and Fer discuss Fer's plan for Flor to go by taxi to the convent school. Flor leaves to contact the taxi company. Fer sits at her desk and writes a letter to Aurora. She starts and stops; she doesn't want it to sound too much like Barbie.

* Aurora sits in the car. Damian is outside the car and talks on the cell phone with Barbie. Barbie is desperate for Damian to fulfill his part in the plan. Damian pauses and assures her he will complete his part. He hangs up and grumbles.

* Franco and Padre Bosco have their unwelcome reunion in the parish office. Franco has to explain why he returned against Padre's wishes. Padre asks about Soledad's vault and Eduardo. Franco assures him that Eduardo Juarez Cruz is dead forever. He wants to start a new life as Franco Santoro and is marrying Erika. Padre is totally opposed to the marriage - because he knows that Franco/Eduardo will always be in love with Fernanda Elizalde.

* Erika is sitting in the car, talking on her cell phone to her friend Chelsea. She explains that she and Franco are at San Rafael parish right now. Chelsea invites her over for coffee to plan for her wedding and gossip. Erika is really excited by the invitation and accepts. They hang up. Chelsea receives her iPhone photo of Fer and Franco from the photo store clerk and smiles about what she plans to do with it.

* Franco explains to Padre Bosco that he can't be with Fer now or ever; he wants to marry Erika. Padre still has his doubts. Erika knocks and enters. She interrupts and asks Padre if he approves of her handsome fiance. She then asks him about how to obtain Franco's baptism certificate. Padre explains the process is difficult and requires two witnesses. Erika is disappointed. Padre gives them some advice. He blesses them before they leave.

* Damian and Aurora get out of the car. Damian makes a proposal - he will take her and sister back to the convent if she does something for him. Aurora looks at him.

* At the car, Franco and Erika talk about the certificate. Franco wants to handle it himself. Erika asks that they go back to Las Animas - she wants to go over some more details for the wedding with him.

* At the restaurant, Camilo and Lovely discuss their engagement party. Lovely is so excited and wants to have a really long guest list - making him present her as his future wife to a really full house. Camilo is shaken and frustrated (he's definitely deep in quick sand and sinking fast.)

* At the convent, Mother Superior tries to use her phone and realizes the line is dead. She paces. Aurora and Sister enter. Mother S asks where have they been?

* Damian and Jacomo finish up their business outside at the cars.

* Aurora and Sister come up with a very good cover story to tell Mother S where they went, and about the letter from Santi. Mother S. accepts the story and tells them, from now on, they are to inform her before they leave the convent.

* Flor is in the taxi. She talks with Fer on the cell phone - she's en route right now to the convent. Flor hangs up and pressures the driver to drive faster.

* Camilo and Lovely are in Franco's office with Steve. Camilo says that Barbie has taken care of all the arrangements for the engagement party. They discuss how long the guest list will be. Camilo salutes Uncle Steve, kisses Lovely and leaves. Steve explodes and yells at Venus to remind her about what a horrible, awful monster Camilo Elizalde actually is!

ADVANCE: Aurora and Sister have a pow-wow about Barbie. Erika asks Steve to go with her to the parish to Franco's baptism certificate. Could Franco's real identity be in jeopardy of being discovered?

Great title Jody. Spot on and rhyming. My favorite kind. You really had me going this morning with not one but two..."stunned but not shaken" and "stunned AND shaken". Made up for Damian not hurling a cellphone.

I want to feel some sort of sympathy for poor deluded Erika but honestly with every shriek I just want to rip her throat out. The actress is doing a great job of being terminally annoying. Aurora is a long cool drink of water in comparison. In fact I find Aurora quite calm and lovable these days.

Is Damian on the way to redemption before death? He actually seemed kind and understanding with our little lamb. Granted he was under orders that she be treated gently but still....I found him rather endearing last night, gigolo shirt notwithstanding.

Thanks for the recap, Jody. Great title, too!

Who would ever believe the Aurora scenes could be preferable to the Erika ones, but there it is.

When Estif was having his shouting tirade at Lovely, did I see her sort of smile? I wonder if she senses that he likes her and is trying to make him come clean.

Woohoo for Damian acting like a human being. I think his deal with Aurora was that he asked her to find out why Babs is so interested in her, yes? I assume so that he can hold that over Babs's head.

That nun was a better liar that Aurora. I'm not sure whether I'm more disappointed in Aurora's continued lameness or the nun's better lying. Especially to protect a kidnapper. Granted it was a kidnapper with a heart of gold... well, a kidnapper hoping to get his heart's weight in gold, anyway...

Erika's "friend" looks familiar. Was she Crazy Carla, Fernando's clingy would-be girlfriend from New York, in Fea?

It was cute, Flor calling the taxi driver "joven" and his gratitude over that. :)

Thanks for this, Jody, as I missed big chunks of it. And I keep missing scenes with Dr. Carlos, too, so I have no idea whether it's the same guy or not!!

Nice job, Jody! A somewhat disjointed episode but you've distilled it well & edited out the extraneous bits.

Like Geppetto & the eye exam. Thank goodness they included that, because it cleared up so many mysteries.

Is Dam saving himself from eternal dam-nation? Wow, I must say, I was a little surprised he released Sniffles back to the convent but then again, he doesn't seem like the kind of guy who can tolerate buckets o'tears & naivete. I'm sure he has an ulterior motive & at this point, I'm cheering him on in his efforts to screw Babinator.

Backtracking to Variopinta's observations yesterday: I agree, the actors are doing a terrific job stirring up the appropriate emotions from Viewerville. Fr/Ed is not a standout role for TBLMOE but I'd watch him do infomercials for laxatives. He is
just
so
fine.

I think I'm ready to see the end to MEPS. Feels like we're going to end up with a rushed conclusion.

Maggarita
:-D

p.s. it's FRIDAY for me! I am SO ready for a 4-day weekend. Warm up the blender, gang, it's MARGARITA TIME!!!!!!! See y'all on Tueday.

Thanks for the recap Jody. I had no idea what Estif was saying in his tirade because I was fascinated with the fact that his face actually matched his hair! I seriously thought he was going to explode.

What could Venus say that would humiliate Cammiiiii that much?

I, too, was surprised by Dam's show of human kindness. I wonder if he will tell Nanda about Cadmil-ho's treatment of Aurora? That could be interesting.

Thanks, Jody, for the helpful recap.

Several things about the Aurora episode surprised me. One is that she and the nun were naive enough to get into the "Italian" goon's car. Another is that she told Damian about Camilo. And a third is that Damian let her return to the convent. I guess he's beginning to realize that he's not likely to get anything from Barbie for carrying out her wishes, so he might as well settle for revenge.

Julie, I too enjoyed Flor's calling the taxi driver "joven" and his appreciating that. (And at my age, I too would appreciate it! :-) )

And Maggarita, I loved your comment about the eye exam! As soon as I read that, I knew who the author was, even before I saw your name.

Tks Jody, I slept through most of it.
How easy is it to get married with a fake name, Babs did it.

Damian is up to sth & I'm all for it.
He does have a few moments of human kindness on occasion, remember when he was 1sr told about Pris being pregnant, he showed genuine happiness for her.

variopinta - good point about Babs getting married with her fake name & identity. Where's my telenovela geanie hat . . . ?

Dam's 'Catch & Release' did sort of throw us off balance, didn't it? Methinks he's cooking up a blackmail scheme to 'congress' Barbie out of more money.

I finally figured out what MEPS needs: those name tags they give out at conventions, except they would say

HELLO MY NAME IS NOT ___________!

Maggarita
:-P

p.s. to Juanita: that scene cracked me up last night & that was the 1st thing that ran through my mind...along with a hearty "what the ????"

thanks, Jody, great recap of an episode full of changing scenes. I was really surprised that Dam let Sniffles and the PEnguin go after so much (ciminal) effort to grab them. As I've said before- he's not all bad, at least not evil, he does have a heart, and could have been a good guy had Barbie not poisoned him with her vile plans. I do wish he would have treated his mom better. I don'y think he will follow thru with Any?balls plan to whack Vlad, at least, I hope that's what happens. It wouldn't surprise me if he is instrumental in Babs' downfall, perhaps redeeming himslef. At least he's giving her some of what she deserves.

Nanda- GO GIIRL! She is getting Babs all stirred up and worried, and she doesn't even know that Fer knows her most vile, evil secret, and now Dam has unwittingly bought more time for Babs' demise.

Estif's anger was kinda weird, I though, but not as weird as her tiny smile. Is she trying to make him celoso, ala junior high, to show her attraction for him. Lesson for all- if you have feelings for someone, don't play games, JUST TELL THEM ALREADY!

My word for verification- hables

Estif just needs to grab Venus and plant a good one on her! Wouldn't she be surprised.

I hope something bad happens to Chelsea. Some "friend" she is.

Judy -- it's hard not to use the James Bond phrase during this telenovela. Everyone seems to be ready for a dry martini every episode.

I think with Damian - once he heard Aurora's side of the story, he found a way to get revenge on Barbinator.

doris - I thought so. I wasn't sure if Steve was actually angry or if some of his rage was jealousy.

julie - you probably are right about the deal between Aurora and Damian. I know I heard him say something about Barbie but wasn't exactly sure.

To answer your question, Julie, the actress playing Chelsea is Mariana Seoane. If she played Crazy Carla in LFMB, then she's the same actress here.

"My name is not..." id tags -- oh, Maggarita, you're too funny. Ha-Ha-Ha! :D

Jody :)

Abora tells Dam about the incident with Cad is interesting in itself, but why does this timid little doe continually leave out the detail of the date rape drops?!?! That seems to me to be the most important facet of the whole thing, as important as the fact that it happened at all. So odd tha Damian might be the champion of her cause in this matter...

I think it might have been easier for Babs to get married under a fake name because she and Gonzo did not get married in the church (as Erika is insisting she and Franco do).

-Vivi in DC

My heart goes out to Erika - did you hear her as she and Fr/Ed headed inside the church and she bubbled to him, "te amo, te amo, te amo!" I just wonder why she fails to see his stone face everytime she kisses him, talks about wedding plans, etc. And the cherry on top of the cake will be when she is humiliated by her "friend", Chelsea.

As for the Aurora/nunnapping, I think even a 5 or 6-year old would have seen through the Jacobo kidnapping plot. Whatever reasons Damian had for releasing the captives, I'm thankful he has a soft spot left in his heart for Aurora the Innocent but yet it was so easy for him to put a contract out on his host, Vladi! I hope it fizzles.....

MEPS in AZ

Jody, thanks for the great recap. There have been some nice surprises in the last few episodes.I was proud of Damien defying and lying to Babs...at least for the moment. And of course Nanda blasting Babs was enjoyable as well. Now it's about time for DDenia to do something to make us proud. Erica's shrieks of delight are starting to become predictable fun for me. You know it's coming so one can brace for it.

Carlos

It's kind of like when Gabriella would smack Sophia. You knew it was coming that's for sure.

Thanks, Jody. I missed several episodes last week, and I'm struggling to catch up. I don't want to miss any nuance in these ultimas semanas!

Is it me, or is Camilo just getting darker and darker orange? In last night's scene with Lovely at Las Animas, I was driven to distraction!

Jane

Thanks, Jody. Yes, that is a great title.

What Babs congratulated Fernanda on was being smart enough not to spill the beans after Fer said she wouldn't tell her dad about Babs' infidelity because of his fragile health.

What was all that stuff about the convent's phones? Flor told Fer that they only had one number, I thought. Then the Madre Superior said the phone wasn't working. Were the bumbling nun-nappers supposed to have cut the lines?

I don't think Dam was being kindly toward Aurora. He was manipulating her for information about her connection to Babs. He told Jacobo when he protested about taking Abora and the nun back that there was even more money to be had. He plans some blackmail scheme to get big bucks from Babs, either by revealing her relationship to Abora or kidnapping her again and keeping her from Babs once he knows how much she's worth.

Jeez, that Chelsea is a rotten person! You shouldn't enjoy exposing the novio of your friend as a cheat so much.

Yes, Erika makes it hard to feel for her. Last night it was unbelievable that she burst in (as she always bursts in) while Fr/Ed was still talking to the priest.
I kind of enjoyed Esteve's outburst. He's showing how he really feels. But Venus is rapidly losing my affection. I liked her at first, but her scheming is getting on my nerves.

Dorris, “When Estif was having his shouting tirade at Lovely, did I see her sort of smile?” Yes. I thought it was a pretty smile. “I wonder if she senses that he likes her and is trying to make him come clean.” I think that’s exactly what she’s trying to do. Too bad she has to resort to these schemes, but her self-esteem may be really low, based on her work history. She wants him to make the first move.

Connie, “I had no idea what Estif was saying in his tirade because I was fascinated with the fact that his face actually matched his hair! “ MEEE TOOOO!!! Maybe they dipped Camillo in the same dye!

“I, too, was surprised by Dam's show of human kindness. I wonder if he will tell Nanda about Cadmil-ho's treatment of Aurora? That could be interesting.” I love Dam, and wish he would reform. But, the plot to double-cross or get more $$$ out of Barbie is possible. Or I wonder if he’s trying to get back “in” with the Elizades somehow.

Jane, “Is it me, or is Camilo just getting darker and darker orange? In last night's scene with Lovely at Las Animas, I was driven to distraction!” I thought the same thing, only this time I thought he looked like a carrot. Maybe it’s the deeper shade of orange.

I was shocked that Damian let Aurora go back to the convent. But then I started thinking that everyone has a line they will not cross and maybe taking advantage of someone as young, naive (read gullible) and pretty as Aurora was something Dam couldn't bring himself to do. Not that he has a heart of gold, there's just no sport in it. I'm not surprised to find out he thinks there may be more money to be had. It's time for Dam to do the old "double cross" on Babs. I wouldn't be surprised if he pulled the same thing on Anyballs.

Worst part of the whole episode: that blouse that Chelsea was wearing (sort of). She was packed into that blouse tighter than a Jimmy Dean sausage. Good lord, I thought those babies were going to pop right out of there! She's not a pretty actress but in that blouse who needs to be? No one's looking at her face.

I'm losing patience with Venus also, but I think Steve is actually kind of scary with the rage thing. It was kind of disturbing, but a little funny when he would blow up at Camilo as part of the game. But the way he blows up at Venus is unhealthy, whether it's caused by jealousy or concern for her welfare or whatever. I'm a little bit more afraid of him at this point than of Camilo.

Jody, great recap, thanks. I thought it was very telling that Chelsea & Co. called Erika "Princessa". Maybe the photo will be payback for all of the years of being totally irritating. No wonder she doesn't see Fr/Ed reaction to her - life is all about the Princessa.

rsk

Thanks, Jody. As usual you filled in numerous dialogue holes for me and made me laugh at the same time.

The comments this morning are priceless!

Margarita-- ITA,..."but I'd watch him do infomercials for laxatives. He is
just
so
fine."

I'd even watch a one-hour still shot as long as he has that smoky-eyed half smile going.
And your name tag idea is perfect fro this TN.

Xlntperuvian --"She was packed into that blouse tighter than a Jimmy Dean sausage." LOL at that one.

Connie-- So true that Steve just needs to plant a good one. I keep waiting.

Thanks for all the laughs this morning, everyone.

Damian doesn't know the reason that Aurora ended up in bed with Camilo was because she was drugged. I doubt that he would think she's this sweet, naive girl who btw happend to be pregnant by whom? ... Dam wouldn't know. He doesn't give a darn about Aurora and he's up to something for sure.

Yes, that Esteve is a scary person even when he's not throwing a tantrum. He's just weird. And Venus, yuk. This is the one plot line that I really hate.

There's another thing . . . how does Aurora know Santi is the father of her child, after being raped by Camilo??? (oops, lost my beanie hat...) That girl is dumber than a box of rocks.

novelera - you hit the nail on the head with what was really giving me the "ick" feeling about Chelsy --- she's enjoying the Fer/FrEd thing. How tacky. With friends like her, who needs enemies?

doris.

So of all the bad guys that could find redemption and forgivness at the end, Damian? Really? I would have thought Anibal (he realizes he's been a terrible hubby and that's why Pris did what she did and now he'll be better and give her and the kid the love they deserve, blah blah blah). But now that we know the kid is all about money to him, he may be beyond hope. The only problem is how would Damian truly be forgiven? Does he have to die saving Pris from Vladimir? Or Aurora from Barb? Or all of us from Erika? Maybe his punishment is to marry her and spend his life living with her and his mother for all eternity. Or is he just using Aurora to get even with Barb?

Anibal is behond redemption no matter what he does going forward. Anyone that hires someone to murder should go under the piecart. No redemption please; it's the thought that counts.

Jody: An excellent recap. Many interesting (and unexpected) events and you captured them all so well. Thank you!

Dorado Dave, I also wondered why Aurora spilled to Dam but left out the fact she was drugged?

Shocked along with everyone else that Dam "a kidnapper hoping to get his heart's weight in gold" (thanks Julie) let Aurora go. As Variopinta pointed out, there was one other act of kindness when Dam seemed genuinely happy for Pris when she first learned she was pregnant. Still, two good acts in a lifetime do not a redemption make.

Erika does not deserve what's coming. She's sweet and kind and I don't imagine Chelsea will be either when shattering her world.

I'm hoping Vlad will be spared somehow.

Diana in MA

I think Vlad's going to go, because there is no one to whom it's important for him to be alive. He doesn't seem to know anyone else beyond Damian and Priscilla and the crazy Lactos crew. So no one would miss him if he disappears. Sort of like Ruth in FELS.

Thanks, Jody, for the great recap and the comments are fun as well.

A show of hands: Now, how many of you people would have gotten into Spitalian's car like Aurora and the nun did? Sheesh! There really is no hope for Aurora.

GinCA

Thanks, Jody. Picture this : You're 13 and at a sleepover with all your buds , but nobody gets any sleep because Princessa keeps shrieking and bouncing around the room. Perhaps, Chelsea is getting revenge on her old ''friend'' Erika for being just a little too perky . I actually jumped a little as I was close to dozing on the sofa when Er came bouncing into padre's office and hurled herself at Fr'ed. [Notice how she stayed behind his chair to hide her babybump! They really have been quite clever in the way they photograph her.] The girl just has so much teen spirit. Really, how about channeling some of that annoying energy into some good works, a hobby, a job ? I agree that Camilo seemed more sunkissed than usual last night. He seems to have turned a corner onto George Hamilton Boulevard. I thought I saw the slightest glimmer of compassion in Dam's eye last night coupled with a definite gleam at the thought of screwing Barbwire [figuratively this time] and getting his 3 mil at the same time. Pregnancy seems to have grounded Abora. At least she has stopped being a nonstop drippy faucet of tears.

Gin~~Spitalian is muy creepy , and I would not walk down a hallway in a crowd of people with him.

Gin~~Spitalian is muy creepy , and I would not walk down a hallway in a crowd of people with him.

While Aurora didn't explicitly tell Damian about the date rape drops, he could have inferred it from what she said. She told him she didn't know how it happened, that she lost consciousness and woke up with Camilo in bed with her.

Also, she knows the baby is Santiago's because she started to have the usual TN symptoms, feeling faint right after she got to the convent. And she got there at most a day after Babs threw her out. You wouldn't have any symptoms one or two days after the deed was done.

Thank you Jody.
I'm with those that think Damian the competent gigolo has 'read the mark' and is handling her. Gentle, reassuring and get all she knows. He might even leave her at the convent but tell Barb she's someplace else and for some amount he'll tell her where. I really don't see what he can do with the knowledge that Abora is pregnant.

I thought Fernanda and her top notch assistant Flor were taking a cell phone to the convent because they couldn't locate a phone listing. Guess I was totally wrong.

Erika's expressions of joy and excitement have never bothered me. What bothers me is her choosing to ignore the obvious even after everybody cautioned her not to go overboard. Her father and eSteve and Franco and even Fernanda when Erika was ga-ga about Cadmilo. Oh-well.

Franco looked like a dead-man-walking on his way in to see Padre Bosco. But when Father Bosco was slowing down that train Franco's discreet looks of relief were hilarious!

I think eSteve is impactado that Venus is going to go thru with this. In that conversation with EdFr when Ed asked how he would feel about Venus actually marrying somebody, Steve got almost as angry as in this episode. He's not saying you can't do this as much as he saying don't do this to me. But he'll have to open his mouth and say that. Lovely Venus is playing this right in my opinion.

Thank God Estif wasn't wearing that horrible pink sweater! It certainly wouldn't have gone with his face or his hair. That shirt Chelsea was wearing was interesting. The puppies looked like they wanted to be free....Has anyone ever worn a blouse like that and looked good in it?

Thanks for the recap Jody. Can't read the comments just yet but thanks for clearing up things for me about this episode.

I think Aurora is still not aware that she was drugged....!!! UNBELIEVABLE...!!!

I would never have gotten in that car with that spitalian. Aurora needs a good man to take care of her and make sure she never deals with people -- if he can put up with her.

Ann-NYC

Connie, I think Chelsea needs to be run down by an ice cream vendor (since pie truck has been mentioned before). Wouldn't that be funny, you hear the happy music and delighted running of children right before you get run over! Boy she is some friend!

There really was no reason for Aurora and Sister to get into the car at all except as a plot device. All she wanted was the letter from Santi and Spitalian could have just handed it to her and let her go on her non-merry way.

Erika has apparently never gotten out of the school girl phase, so she's squealy and immature, but what has she done to deserve such terrible friends? I mean Chelsea and crew, not Fernanda. Fer has been torn between her love for Franco and her desire to spare Erika from pain. The photo revelation is just what she didn't want to happen.

Just Me

Yes, Aurora reviewed the events leading up to her rape when she was on the bus trip to the convent. She knows Cad put something in the herbal drink he gave her. As Carlos said, she has nada self preservation skills. She not only withholds information at oportune times but she only tells important things to people who can harm her. Hey, maybe its a flawed writer and not a flawed character at all.

Post script: Aurora (the self destruct) did tell her first lie last night. She told the lie to the convent Mother superior. Now how come she could not tell a lie to the love of her life when he asked her if Barb found her in bed with another man? Yep, a flawed writer because nobody is that dumb in reality.

Ha Molly! I can totally see it. Happy, happy ice cream music..... then....SPLAT......

Thanks, Kat and Jody, for those two excellent recaps.
The grey silk organza blouse was pretty, although I would lose the bows on the sleeves.
Nunnapping! Great way to mess with Jacobo’s limited brain power, throw in an unexpected nun. He seemed to be having so much fun with his Spitalian impersonation.
Dr. Carlos—so when will you tell us more about your adventures as team physician for the bikers in Houston?
Martina—an inspiration to girls everywhere. You too can rise from mud wrestler to Dr.’s wife.
Flor is quite the busy little Nancy Drew these days, isn’t she?
Many hilarious comments, gracias a todos.
La Paloma

OK thanks Jody, yes Mariana Seoane is the one. Perhaps someday she'll play a character who doesn't get on my nerves!

Really, if I knew Erika and couldn't stand her, I wouldn't hang out with her or be her friend or help her plan her wedding or care who she was engaged to or show her incriminating photos. I don't get people like Chelsea who take such delight in tormenting their "friends." I'd rather have NO friends than friends that I can't stand. Doesn't she have anything else to do? (Probably not.)

Then again, sometimes there are people in your life that you're not crazy about but they're always around and you can't seem to get rid of them. Maybe Erika's like that. But it still doesn't excuse Chelsea taking time out of her day just to hurt her.

Estiv red in face - so it wasn't just my imagination, he was PURPLE! It's scary when an actor gets like that, all purple or when you can see the veins throbbing in their forehead and you wonder, jeez, is that healthy??

Hello all. Great recap and thanks for welcoming me the other week!

I came into the show late, but have always hoped for redemption for Damian. Perhaps I'm mesmerized by the eyes, but nonetheless, I keep hoping that he will end up on the good side.

My next thoughts may not be as popular, but here goes. Even though Fr/Ed is supposed to be the hero of the story, he hasn't been a saint even though he's doing "the wrong things for good reasons."

If you count kissing and lust as adultery, then he is as guilty as Damian for sleeping w/Barbara. And Fer -- the same. So all four of them have committed adultery on onen level or another.

Fr/Ed is trying to bring the Elizalde family down. Damian swindled them. The level of one may be worse than the other, but again, Fr/Ed is no saint here, regardless of his reasons.

I also don't see why he has to keep stringing Erika along in this. He's messing with her feelings ... he should just break up with her and be done with it. Unless I missed something, there doesn't seem to be any reason for him to stay with her other than just wanting to have a woman/have a wife because he can't have the one he loves.

So, depending on how the story goes, I may try to continue to hope for Damian to be on the good side. I agree that he seemed genuinely tender with Aurora.

Thanks again for the welcome!

What I noticed most when Esteve was raging at Venus was his teeth. He has little sharp teeth like fangs. Reminded me of a snappy toy poodle my sister used to have.

Oh no, thanks to xlntperuvian I'm now picturing Esteve with poodle hair...

Oh, one more thing. If Vlad is indeed the father of Priscilla's child (and there may be some question based on the folder? Doctor's report for Anibal could be wrong ...), then the only true Elizalde heir is Aurora's baby ... by either Camiiiii or Santi, an Elizalde any way you turn it.

I just figured this out last night (I was slow on this one.)

-Netgirl from the East Coast.

unless, as some on this list have conjectured, Santi is not an Elizalde. after all, if he is, then he and Aurora are cousins.

oh no, I just realized that Aurora and Camilo really ARE cousins and from his response to Barbara the other night about being careful, it sounds like he really did rape Aurora. So we end up with incest after all! I thought that was against the TN rules!

GinCa, exactamente. Aurora didn't trust the fake Italiano & asked Hermana Fidelia to go with her, then they BOTH get into a car of someone they don't really trust in a alley????? WTF we all know how dumb Aurora is but Hermana Fidelia??????

Esteve is so upset because he knows what a pedazo de mierda Camilo really is. I think he said, lazy, a parasite off his padre & mistreats women. He doesn't want Venus to be hurt. Venus was playing it with her goodbyes to Camilo.

I really don't think Anibal would be into murdering anyone, I think he has sth else in mind. I know I'm the only one that defends him.

How about this for the perfect couple, Chelsea & Camilo, they deserve each other.

Renee: I assume you mean by Camilo and/or Santi being cousins with Aurora that you think Aurora's father is Artemio Brave. I'm not convinced that is the case. The only clue is that he seemed to care that she died. But then he also seems to care what happenedd to Liliana, even though he ordered it.

Variopinto, Anibal made it as clear as he could that he wanted Damian to dispose of Vladimir. Until that moment, I had thought he was just insensitive and cold and could be redeemed, but he was contracting for a murder. And not for revenge or hatred but for the cold hard cash his "heir" will bring with Vlad out of the picture. As for Damian, he in turn contracted with his primo for a hitman, so he's deep into the dark side too. He only let Aurora go because he has figured out that there's more to this than Barbara has told him and he smells the chance for a big score and revenge on Barbara. I don't see how this can end well for Anibal, Damian or Vladimir.

Just Me

true, Novelera, it's never been said that AB is Aurora's father. I guess I jumped to that conclusion by the way he seemed to care about her, as well as some of Barbara's hatred toward him. but it might not be the case at all. maybe there was some guy in Barb's life and Artemio separated her from him also, which made her bitter. I really want to know what his hold is over her!

I was just thinking that Damian was the one who seemed genuinely excited for Pris when she first announced her pregnancy. And he certainly was kinder to Abora once she fessed up to being pregnant. Maybe he's got a soft sport for babies. I kind of hope Damian makes it out okay too, Chipendales wardrobe and all.

It does seem that Damien has some sympathy for Aurora, he may be a jerk but it seems he draws the line regarding rape. He had plenty of time to take advantage of Fer but never did, and I think he said he would never force himself on her. He wouldn't have to force himself on me...I'd take him and his two button shirts anytime...

I am soooo over Erika, she is rude and self centered....Fr/Ed asked he to wait in the car while he went in to speak to Padre Bosco. Then 5 minutes later she quckly knocks and just opens the door barging in as usual! Not a shock her "friends" call her princess. All she thinks about is herself. Maybe when Fr/Ed dumps her it will be a wake up call. I have no sympathy ...zero...nada..sorry Erika fans

Sorry Julie! Esteve with poodle hair would just be too much! We already have poodle hair on Santi!

Personally, I think Erika will call off the wedding before Fr/Ed will. Eventually Erika will realize he's as excited about marrying her as a dead fish. She's rushing headlong into this thinking "someday he'll be happy" and he's trudging along out of a sense of duty. Everyone who has asked Fe/Ed why he's marrying Erika has heard "I gave her my word", "I can't break my promise", etc. But so far NO ONE has really sat Erika down and said, "Why are you doing this?" If she really had to examine her motives and his response she might stop this charade. I think that having that picture shoved in her face will be the beginning of the end for Fr/Ed and Erika.

Ed/Fr also promised a young Fernanda that he would love her forever...what happened to that?

Esteve looked like the incredible hunk last night, only pink.

I really wanted to think well of Dam last night, but I kept thinking that a leopard can't change it's spots.

Welcome néw posters, isn't this a fun place!

careful xint with your predictions. you're bordering on an advance of the Erika and Fr/Ed saga.

Jody :)

Doris, I don't know that aurora was raped. Camilo said he "Had a taste" of her. That tells me he did not go all the way. That also reminds me that when he wa smooching it up with her dead body, she was murmuring santiago and he gave a disgusted look. I think that was as far as he got.

how can we say sweet erika doesn't deserve what's coming. She was told numerous times that Franco was not in love with her. She did the pushing for ths wedding the entire time.

If Camilo didn't really do the deed with the comatose Aurora, then why did he tell his madrastra he "took precautions, as usual, and even more so with Aurora"? I took the "even more so" to mean that he didn't think Aurora worthy of bearing an Elizalde, but it could mean other things, I suppose.

Jody, I forgot to thank you for you excellent timely recap. When the action and dialogue heats up we really need the recaps!

Bummer... We are in a cheap Florida hotel that has EVERY channel but Univision. It would seem that every hotel in Florida should have a Spanish language channel!! Every other radio program is Spanish. It will be sports for me tonight.

If Camilo wasn't able to go through with the rape, Barbara is the LAST person he'd admit that to. Of course he's going to pretend that he has a perfect record.

Actually, I wonder if he's shooting blanks just like his big brother.

Erika may be clueless and a pain in the ass, but she doesn't have a mean bone in her body. And if big mistakes or dumb ones were a punishable offense, I'm pretty sure most of us would have done at least a little hard time. That's why I don't think Erika deserves the multiple schemes that are going on behind her back and the heartbreak that is no doubt ahead of her.

Variopinta, you should open a dating service. Your plan for Camilo and Chelsea is right on.

Julie, de acuerdo. In a TN with liars, murderers, adulteres, kidnappers, rapists, disinheriting fathers, female mud wrestler/working girls, business back stabbers, etc. pushing a marriage and giggling too much hardly seems worth notice.

My thoughts anyway!!

Oh darn, I just realized, Anibal got sterilized in some kind of accident, didn't he? So there's no genetic reason Camilo wouldn't be sterile too. Never mind. I'll come up with a better crackpot theory.

We can only hope that Camilo is esterile.

Sorry Jody, I wasn't really predicting anything, just drawing on personal experience. A long time ago I had what I thought was a strong relationship. Around Christmas I realized by his actions and reactions that he just wasn't all that interested in the relationship anymore. Once I knew that, the relationship lasted about 2 more weeks. It just wasn't worth the effort.

Here I go again with one of my hair-brained theories.

I think Venus' plan is to have Camillo throw this huge party for her, announce their engagement and then she'll turn him down in front of everybody he knows.

~Caborita

I hope Natasha has an invitation to the party.

No need to invite Natasha. From the way they've been planning this party, she can just read about it in the paper. She won't have to endure the humiliation of discovering that she's now been the "other woman" TWICE without knowing it thanks to Camilo's inability to ever tell the truth to anyone.

Sorry, I meant PUBLIC humiliation. She'll still be humiliated; it's just that she'll be at home.

I want everyone there to enjoy Camilo's take-down.
