Sortilegio #22, Wednesday Nov 4, 2009: News, News and News

Bruno says this dinner is only for family and asks Felipa to leave. Victoria insists she stay.

Brunto is contesting the will of Antonio Lombardo because both he and Rachel have rights because they are children of Antonio. Raquel is totally floored and wants to know what is going on. Brunto says their mother is ramera.

Everyone is tense. Raquel and Bruno hold on to each other.

Victoria grabs Felipe and leaves to have a pity party.

Roberto wants to know what the problem is?

Rachel beats on Roberto, then fortifies herself with a glass of vino.

Chucho comes to see Pedro. He shows money and tells Pedro that he would rather spend it on his friend Pedrito for a night on the town. Chucho, must have decided to do his part in helping out economy..... or he has lost all faith in the banking system.

Ale is worried about his Madre. MJ asks if there is something wrong between them and Ale flashes to Maura's conversation with him about MJ. MJ should know that Ale is very astute.

Chucho and Pedro are having a night on the town. A botello of ? Chucho needs to pay up front. Chucho is wearing some kind of neon tie. I think it wasn't a good idea for Chucho to put his money in his back pocket.

Maura and sister? are talking plans. Roberto joins and orders drinks for the girls and a
whisky for himself. He has news. Seems like it can't spread fast enough.

Rachel goes to sleazy sleaze Useless Gross I can't stand him, and cries about being the bastard child of Antonio. She is so humiliated.

Bruno joins Roberto and the girls. Bruno wants it to all play out in the courts.

Chucho and Pedro are drinking it up . Chucho has a girl to dance. The workers are all taking. A serving girl comes to sit with Pedro. Chuco is dancing storm, then wants another bottle. Flashin that moola is not smart. He goes to el bathroom and one of the bartenders relieves him of his money.

Oh oh, Chucho finds his money is gone, (maybe a FDIC banco would have been better.) and the waitress is angry at the bartenders, and now a brawl is happening. Pedro is breaking glasses on heads and breaking furniture. Bad news.

Back at home the police call to say Pedro and Chucho are in jail. Of course EZ gives Bruno the call and Bruno tells him not to tell or else.

Next morning. MJ climbs in bed with Ale. NO, it is not another hot scene. Ale is worried about the scandal and then asks MJ who Mario Aguirre? See MJ. You need to tell Ale everything that is strange. Caray has been warning you all week. MJ says that she and Paula thought it could be someone associated with her father. Ale is a bit upset. He goes to bathe without inviting MJ.

EZ starts to feel guilty about not telling Ale about Pedro but lets Bruno win.

Bruno can hardly contain himself as he calls his mother to tell her that he is at the police station because of the scandal MJ's papa Pedro has caused. He hangs up from her and calls the tabloids to tell them the breaking news.

Vicky comes running to find Ale, whom we at least get to see all wet with a towel on. Ale wants to know why Bruno is at the police station, but, Victoria says now is not the time to discuss Bruno.

Bruno has all kind of press at the police station. Ale and MJ walk into a swarm of reporters paparazzi. They get to the jail and Ale sends Bruno away.

Pedro and Chucho are getting sprung and Pedro is ashamed. Some girl is pleading to make a phone call.

Pedro, Chucho, Ale and MJ leave surrounded by the paparazzi. They are in the hummer, and Pedro says he is ashamed, Chucho says it is all his fault. Ale tells them to stay at the house and not go out in public. He then asks Pedro about Mario Aguirre, who Pedro doesn't know.

Doubts. Nasty doubts.

Maura gets to hear the juicy news on the radio while driving, and then has to call Rachel and tell her that MJ's father was drunk and raised a big scandal in a seedy place.

MJ chastises her father and Chucho.

Bruno catches up to MJ in the gardens. MJ says to leave them alone. Bruto, says besides the money and the estate he wants MJ to divorce Ale. Somehow they trip and MJ lands on top of Bruno, he looks up at her... and this is where my DVR stops.

Please feel free to add and/or correct. I really appreciate it.

I got me a ticket on an airplane... Don't have time to take a fast train. Lonely days are gone(for 3 days)
I'm a goin home, my hubby sent me an itinerary. :)

I will be traveling and might not be able to check in.

Have a good week!

Thanks, Dipity. What an episode! It seems that a fool and his money are, indeed, soon parted. So Chucho (fool #1) led Pedro (Fool #2) to the bar, but Pedro fully engaged in the debacle that followed. If I were MJ, I'd want to slap Papi into Sunday.
This is just what Alex needs, more problems with the relatives. His (half) brother is a whack-job sociopath, his sister has impure intentions, his father-in-law is well meaning but inepto, sister-in-law SHUT-UP-PAULA buzzes about the house like an annoying mosquito and his best friend is in love with his Mother. And the servants! Lord, if they keep this up it could be as interesting as an Irish family Christmas—speaking from experience, of course.
And MJ, I want to echo my compatriots in Bloggoland, we implore you, tell Alex the truth. Siempre.

Nice job, serendipityb! Have a good time away!

I thought Ezequiel was mad at Bruno for calling him a pimp?? What's he doing passing calls about Alex's father-in-law to Bruno -- or, in fact, giving him any calls where the caller hasn't specifically asked for Bruno?

Maybe I'm just tired from work, and nothing against Chucho, but if I hear either "aflojese las apreturas" or "canicas" one more time, I will not be responsible. They are at least half of Chucho's dialog in any given scene and at this point are as annoying as the theme song being played over and over and over and over and over again. In the case of the theme song, it's probably just Televisa trying to get their money's worth and then some out of the licensing fee (which makes me wish they'd picked a cheaper and less overwrought song); what is the excuse for the other??

OK, let's review here: Bruno hates Alex. Bruno is jealous of Alex. Bruno tried to stage a coup d'etat to take something he has not earned and does not deserve. He has been vicious to everyone in the house, and he hates MJ's family. Vic herself told him that while she protested Antonio's decision to leave everything to Alex, she sees he was right to draw his will up the way he did. So how is it that now Vic believes actually Bruno went to the police station to help??? I can't even say "At least she went and told Alex as soon as she learned what was going on," because all she did was serve Alex and MJ up to Bruno on a silver platter. It would have served Bruno right if Vic had kept her mouth shut and waited to see if Bruno really did bail Pedro out. He called the paparazzi because he was counting on Vic telling Alex so Alex would come down and get caught in the full glare.

Great. All Fernando can think about is poor delicate sensitive Vic and how just about any injustice or outrage should be permitted so long as she is protected. Here is Alex trying to solve ten problems at once and Fernando keeps turning the conversation back to Vic. Meanwhile, MJ is already paying the price for, as serendipityb says, not listening to Caray's warnings: Alex told Fernando that while he's always believed MJ's "accomplice" in the scam was Bruno, but now he's beginning to think it's this Mario Aguirre guy. He wants Fernando to play PI and try to find out just who this Mario Aguirre guy is and what he is to MJ. I can't decide if we should be relieved that once again all Fernando can focus on is Vic. Alex finally managed to make Fernando understand that by helping him Fernando is helping Vic, because among other things, if they can figure out what Bruno's getting up to and take steps to shut him down, then they not only help Alex but Vic, too.

You didn't miss much with the promo for Friday, serendiptiyb, and probably will enjoy your time away with Mr. serendipityb a lot more if you don't have to think about them. If you're reading this while away, let me suggest you stop here. But, if you must know... Basically Uni wants Viewerville to worry for two days about whether Alex --who appears to be coming home just in time to catch Bruno and MJ in what Bruno, if he sees Alex, will certainly manage to make appear to be a wildly passionate embrace somewhere on the grounds of the manse-- actually does come home in time to catch Bruno and MJ in what Bruno, if he sees Alex, will certainly do his best to manage to make appear to be a wildly passionate embrace somewhere on the grounds of the manse. Also, someone sends a whole mass of red roses to MJ. Raquel arrives just in time to see the delivery and of course Ezequiel makes no attempt to stop her from snatching the card to see who sent them, but this information is not shared with us (so does this mean they're from Alex, because he wuuuvs MJ even if he still doesn't trust her, or from Oil Slick, trying for a raise from Maura?).

Incog

Thanks for the recap, and nice addition Incog. Well if there is one thing I found extremely stupid and pointless (there were probably more), it was the way Bruno told Felipe to leave. Besides just being cruel, was there a purpose to that, Bruno? I know he's never decent or civil, but that was just uncalled for. Also, calling his mother a ramera like that--cold!

Yet, Victoria still tells Alex not to focus on Bruno and his motives. Oh you're really smart, Victoria.

LOL loved the line, about Alex bathing without inviting MJ! It's sort of odd to me how Alex can be so loving one minute, then all of a sudden, he goes into suspicion-mode. I mean he definetely has his reasons (MJ is an idiot who doesn't tell him anything), but I still feel sorry for MJ every time he starts to snap at her. I mean it's so hard to love someone when you don't trust them, and it's probably even harder to love someone and know that they don't trust you...or maybe it's equally painful...I don't know...I guess I understand both of their stances, except for MJ's decision to not tell Alex of important things that are crucial to holding their relationship together. I can feel the coldness in Alex's stare when Pedro says he doesn't know Mario Aguirre, and I just want to slap MJ for trapping herself.

Fernando is a complete buffoon. really how stupid can one act.

Ezekiel very disappointed with you giving Bruno the phone call, then you compound it by not saying anything to Alex?

MJ i don't feel sorry for stupid people. You know firsthand how Bruno is and for you not to still trust Alex. You falling right in team Mexitrash trap and quite frankly if you're going to be this dumb you deserve it.

You should tell your dad that you will try to get him a place in another city. Since he doesn't know how to act and take Chucho with him.

Oh well Raquel i guess that lusting after Alrx was for naught. Now you find out in the worst possible way he's your half brother.

Vicki after your own cherished son called you slut and you wimpered away. Instead of finally throwing the bum out of the house for good. I don't feel sorry for you either and you deserved being called it too.

Alex i don't blame him for not trusting MJ again and being suspicious. Only thing is he should take anything Maura has to say as the gospel.

Thanks, Serendipity. Have a great trip, wherever you're going.

The one part of this episode I really enjoyed was Victoria really going after Bruno at the dinner. He asked her why she didn't lobby for him to get a bigger share of the inheritance, and then she let him have it. She told him that she DID try to get Antonio to do that, but now she's really glad he didn't pay her any mind. Now that she knows what patanes her kids have turned out to be. She told Bruno he was a lazy good for nothing. Daniela Romo really nailed this scene. Raquel jumped up to holler at her mother about not having told her about this disgraceful thing and pretty much called her ramera in a different way (this after having recently been in an adulterous bed herself). At that point, Vic almost fell over, and Felipa helped her to bed.

It WAS frusrating that a few hours later she was just the same as always with Bruno on the phone.

novelera said: The one part of this episode I really enjoyed was Victoria really going after Bruno at the dinner.

Me, too! That scene was great to see and hear, but as usual with Vic in this story, it's 2 steps forward, followed by 57 back.

Incog

Have a nice (and safe) trip, Dipity! Appreciate the recap.

*faceplant* One more time, just for posterity. *faceplant* Heheh. How did that feel, Bruno, being served up on that table like a first course? Scared you for a sec, huh? I mean you didn't even fight back. "Lawd, don't let Alex choke me out before I can spew the rest of this ramera speech--ouffff!"

I enjoyed that whole scene. It had me in stitches, especially Roberto's zoned out expressions, like Are these people for real? Either way they got money, what's the diff? LMAO Felipa holding her ground was great. Vicky taking up for Felipa AND verbally handing Bruno his ass was absolutely superb. And she didn't faint. (yes, Bruno, that's how it feels to have a mad dog snapping in your face, not good, huh?) Alex looked just drop-dead gorgeous in his anger. Ahhh, those eyes. Don't hold him back, MJ! Let him pound that jackass! Pobrecita de Raquel, her horror and humiliation nearly got her faceplanted too, by Bobo. A fine evening indeed, y'all. Par for the course.

Pobrecito de Televisa! Some yoyo in post production did an extremely bad edit right between when Chucho watches Bruno drive away after dinner from hell and Chucho arriving to find Pedro lying on his bed. And so Viewerville was treated to a totally unrelated 4 or 5 second shot of some 1700s period piece. Some natives arriving in a canoe, and some guy in tights meeting them. At first you would have sworn that river was the Lombardo moat! Talk about saving money--how many times has that film been reused? ROFL

Another scene I completely enjoyed, even though it turned out badly for some Simpatico Seniors--the cantina brawl. You clearly saw what was coming, and I thought poor Chucho and Papi would go crying but nicely. No can do! Chucho commenced to raising serious hell, and once someone threw Papi into their table, it was on like Donkey Kong. Papi opened up a can of Whoopazz, stomping folks and breaking beer bottles on heads. I didn't know he had it in him. My brother and I were bouncing up and down on the sofa, throwing wild boxing punches and yelling, "Go Papi, go Papi, GO!" Hahahahahaha.

I thought Alex had already left the house when Vicky came looking for him, so I was totally unprepared when he and his towels came flying out of the bathroom. Daaaayyyym! I missed my danged mouth and dumped half a glass of ice tea all down myself. Bro is never going to let me forget that. Anyone with a body like that ought to be in jail. It's on the verge of being obscene, as Prince would say. :D

Gracious me, Bruno has a trick for every day of the week. LOL He's even got the paparazzi in his pocket. Word?

I am ignoring Fer-no-no. Ignoring him.

Yes, let us all collectively slap MJ as Alex emotionally drifts further and further away with her help. Not only is it the Mario Aguirre thing, but heck, woman, you can't tell me there isn't any room in Alex's MASSIVE suite for your clothes, so that you're not always in YOUR room. Ughhhhn. Here we go.

Oh, Vicky, why did you back-pedal? Arghhhh.

But I don't want to have to wait until Friday. I want to see which way Bruno's head is about to spin again nowwwwww. Perhaps he should hold a press conference, or demand an audience with the mayor. "Soy hijo de una raMERA!!"

I love you all for the assists. You covered things I really wanted to be sure about. Muchas, muchas gracias.

Oh, and Dipity, loved the lyrics! :)

Oh, yeah. How could I forget about the cantina girl-stripper who showed Chucho and Papi that she could balance a cane on her butt? ROFL! Bro said it reminded him of something he heard on TV earlier in the week, about an exotic dancer whose butt was so big she could balance a glass of water on it and take a drink at the same time. We were howling.

Thanks for the recap and enjoy your time with the hubby.
Though they are cute as buttons most of the time, little too much Pedro and Chucho this episode. But I guess they had to serve their ultimate purpose with their fraternity brawl. And lucky us, we get to watch Vic once again coddle to her little boy. Gees, woman, he may be your own flesh and blood, but honestly, if he's going to act like a child, maybe a good spanking is in order.
Uli...what is with the neon undies in this show?
I don't know about anyone else, but Roberto is starting to grow on me. Seems every telenova has that one character of questionable character who somehow gets redeemed and sees the error of their ways. I'm thinking maybe Roberto just might fit that bill.
Fer baby - get a grip already!

Thanks to all of this week's recappers--just catching up with the postings.
I had to laugh at the hi-jinks in the bar last night. Papi Pedrocito was barely healed and he gets all beat up again. Chucho isn't the wise shaman this time around, only a rube from the country being taken by the city slickers.
Our sweet Alex could sell posters of his towel scene.
La Paloma

I think they r now trying to turn MJ into a dumb heroin. I guess if Alex and MJ are too smart, there would no bruno. Because after the failed coup and what he did to MJ he should be in court everyday pleading his case.

Mi madre is una Ramera!!!!!

http://telenovelashunks.blogspot.com/

DPD...Thanks for the recap, many cute comments Chucho "helping out the economy"....Oh, that is what they were doing!! Incog, thanks to you too!

On Roberto, he is growing on me as well. He does have a "real guy" twinkle in his eye and he isn't a status seeker like the gals in the show, plus he tells the truth. I wish they hadn't introduced the bi thing, that is going to make it harder to root for him. We know Useless is bi, are we sure about Roberto?

Alex is too jealous. If he were a real boyfriend, I think a red flag or two would be waving. In this modern world men call women and women call men all day long. He doesn't want MJ to work, not a good sign. I know he is insecure about the beginning, but he isn't offering a real marriage is he! Just my opinion........

Lots of paparazzi for Merida, Mexico...too funny.

Sandy in TN

Thanks for the recap Dipity. I haven't read all the comments yet. I'm really sick of Bruno calling his mom a ramera. If my son called me that even once I'd slap him into next week. How about you Stephe? Why does today feel like Friday? Long week I guess.

I'm going to take the minority view here and take MJ's side in this. So far, since she and Alex reached a level of understanding, the only thing she hasn't told him about is this call from Mario Aguirre, and that Bruno (like Alex with the first unknown call she received) took the phone, and no one answered. Given that 1) she has no idea who this person is; 2) she suspects it may have something to do with her father's shady dealings (her business that she does not want to burden Alex with); and 3) Alex has WAY more important stuff to worry about right now (family revelations, sick mom, business coupe, brother trying to kill him). I don't think I would have rushed to tell him about a stupid call.

Alex doesn't tell MJ everything either. He does not tell her things that he thinks might worry her or hurt her (just like she did). And when he revealed his knowledge of the Mario Aguirre call he did not tell her the vital information about who told him. Had he said to her, Maura (my ex-lover who we both know is trying to get back into my bed) told me that she heard from Bruno and Raquel (two people who would love to see MJ fall on her face) about these calls from Mario. These things alone should tell him not to trust the messengers, but if he had told her she would have a better chance at knowing who's setting this trap for her. Right now Alex has done the most harm to MJ by not giving her all the facts. She's flying blind.

Both MJ and Alex are similar in that they make sacrifices in their own lives to support their families. MJ gave up her dream of anthropology and art and finishing college (why didn't Alex offer her a job excavating that new site with Fernando?) in order to drop out of college to support her father and sister. That is her MO, and if Alex has been getting to know her at all over the last month, he would realize that her first instinct in not revealing something is to protect someone else (him or her family) and not to cover her own butt. He would trust her if he has been truly paying attention. My 2 cents.

-Vivi in DC

Vivi, couldn't have said it better myself on MJ and Alex, I agree completely...well said.

Sandy in TN

Good point, Vivi. I have been thinking that when the crap hits the fan, both MJ and Alex will have had a hand in their own trouble.

Connie, been there, done that (the B word). It was a bad scene, too. Scared the heck out of him, the way I went off. But we learned and grew from it, and it never happened again. Mothers make mistakes and shouldn't be demeaned with derogatory names because of those mistakes. I include Vicky in that group. (Now, if your mother literally IS a real ramera, well that's a whole 'nother story.) JMHO.

serendipity - thank you for the recap. I didn't get to watch this and didn't record it, either. Sounds like I didn't miss too much, though, in the grand scheme of things.

Ruh-roh, the honeymoon is over. MJ and Ale only talking in bed, showering alone . . . Sorry I missed seeing the towel-clad Ale stepping out of the shower.

Good grief, Pedro is living proof of the old saying, “... monja se vista de seda, monja se queda”. I can't stand him and I don't know why.

Let's hope Raquel got pregnant with Useless so her daughter can scream at her that she (Raqui) is a ramera.

Hmm, I just noticed something suspicious on last night's recording. The two cantina girls who "helped" Chucho and Papi were left in the carcel and stiffed by the scammer cantina guys, right? Well, the blonde one was making a big ruckus about her rights to a phone call, and carefully and specifically begged to be able to contact "mi comadre Julia Fernandez." I could see a walk-on, walk-off character asking for a phone call or a relative even, but her carefully giving Viewerville a specific NAME sounds like we're getting set up for something...

Methinks we should probably keep "Julia Fernandez" in mind. Just in case.

Doris, I wished the same thing for Raquel! I mean, it was a bit like the pot calling the kettle black as she (a married woman)immediately rushed to her lover's house to cry about her mother having cheated on the man that she thought was her father. At least her mother was in loving relationships with her husband and lover, and eventually married her lover. Even if Bobo dropped dead tomorrow, I don't think she'd be looking at Useless as marriage material. That's just pure lust.

-Vivi in DC

Ooh! Good catch on that name drop Stephe. I definitely thought we would see Mercedes (I think that's the blonde's name) again as Pedro was so concerned about her being locked up and he having no means for getting her out. Hmmm...Could it be the appearance of the long last mama of MJ and Paula? That would be interesting!

-Vivi in DC

doris, LOL! (about Raquel) Ouch!

Well, we had our nightly fight, in fact two of them. Loved the bar brawl.

Alex is not your usual blind TN hero, he IS going to find out who Mario Aquirre is, but probably not until the los ultimos episodios.

Love laid back Roberto, "hey, what's the big deal" with shouts of ramera & candles flying, too funny.

Finished Corazón Salvaje with Eduardo Palomo. Pretty good & he was sexy, but he sure didn't pump iron like WL & FC.
We'll see if Yáñez can live up to the part. It doesn't call for a young virginal male, so he will probably be ok in it, just don't yell. GAAAVIIOOOTAA!

Oh, Vivi, the wheels are turning... :)

LOL, Variopinta!

Did any other Gancho watchers notice that the police detective was Tano with a mustache? Unless my eyes were deceiving me, or my tv is too small. :) Can anyone else confirm or deny?

-Vivi in DC

Stephe, I agree about the cantina girls, I was looking for one that resembled MJ. Sth is up with that.

We have about 70 episodes to go & things are moving pretty fast.

A shout-out to Raquel and Roberto. Their performances were really good.

Uli's face, as he hugged Raquel, was full of opportunity rather than comfort for her. Uh-oh.

Well, I'm off to get coffee and some writing done. Laters, mates.

Many thanks serendipitypb for the recap. I'll chime in for my love of your line re. Alex showering and not inviting MJ!!

Also, Doris, I can't stand PEDRO either!!! So what if he has a bum knee -- he was an accountant! Don't think that knee problem would affect his ability to work much. And he's not that old, Ezequiel, Felipa, etc. are a lot older and they seem to manage to work just fine without their 20-something daughter supposedly being the breadwinner for years.
Yeeshhhh.....
CubsFan

BTW, Erik, Manzanares etc was in Corazón Salvaje, as a bad guy of course.

Is that guy always a bad guy? I think his worst was the witch doctor in FELS. What a train wreck that was!

Vario,

I just realized, after reading your post, that Eduardo Palomo, the actor who died so young, is in Corazon Salvaje. He was great in Ramona. I think all this has been said before, I just didn't make the connection. I'm ordering CS today. I think he was a great actor and the fact that he isn't pumped up makes him seem more real life....thanks for the tip.

Sandy in TN

Thanks, Serendipity~~~There's something familiar about the scenes of sisterly bonding between Maura and Lis, but I just couldn't put my finger on it. Then, last night..light bulb moment...The Kardashians South of the Border minus Bruce Jenner. Sandy and Variopinta ~~I've caught a few minutes of Corazon Salvaje with Eduardo Paloma and Edith Gonzalos on Youtube. That is the version that has so many ardent fans who are vigorousl;y protesting a remake. However, I've also been surfing around Youtube to check out the new version , and it sure looks good to me. Big Ed looks yummy with long hair in period costume as does Christian de Fuentes. I think it's going to be a fun ride.

I have to agree Susanlynn--Big Ed is muy yummy! Can't wait for that one. Don't know if I want to watch ahead though.

Connie ~~~ The guy who plays Eric played a good bad guy in Alborada. He was the henchman of ''La Poderosa'' [queen of the local criminal element...the actress is now the servant on ENDA]. They helped save both Luis and Hippolita.

A few more steam-of-consciousness thoughts ...I thought that Vicky was goiing to drag poor, teeny Felipe up those stairs as she pulled her along while making her retreat freom the dinner-from-hell. [Gosh...what a family.] Two words for Raq : HIGH MAINTENANCE...Roberto o o knows that and Useless is finding out rapidly. Raq and Useless deserve each other. Raq really ripped into Roberto o o , didn't she?. I think that was a very bad idea. He already detests her. She is on a slippery slope now, and Useless is going to provce to be...yes...say it with me...useless.

Was i the only one who noticed Raquel not only finishing off her glass of wine at dinner table. She was going around finishing off everyone else's too. It looks like she has a serious drinking problem. I kept wondering why she doesn't drive also? Maybe suspended license.

Vicki is just hopeless.

Susanlynn, you're right. I forgot he was in that too. I loved that TN and am loving Pasion. I knew she looked familiar. I had a hard time following that whole line in Alborada. It was pretty chopped up and I couldn't figure out who she was.

What a good episode, but alex is cold to her and then sweet. I don't like that! He either wants her or he doesn't. Burno falling looked like it was on purpose to me. mj looks terrified of him! I think oilslick body is really good, sometimes he looks good and other times he doesn't and what's with the orange underwear? Can't these men where normal underwear like Alex? The yellow underwear on burno was so stupid, I guess he needs to stand out from Alex, but he doesn't even compare to Alex.

One more thought on the cantina girl who ended up in jail with our AARP boyz...I wasn't convinced that she was a she, bad blond wig and all. Wouldn't that be something?

And, like many others, I am not finding Vic to be a sympathetic character. Is it any wonder that Bruno and Raqui are scheming and not-so-good at seeing the way things are? Mommy-dearest, you had an affair and conceived the twins. So be it. Her husband came to accept it. From the very beginning of this TN Filipa encouraged Vic to tell the twins and Alex the truth...but it was just too HARD for Vic.She hides her secret career, enables and makes excuses for Bruno's terrible behavior and more of less ignores Raquel, who is following in her mother's footsteps. Vicky, get thee to a therapist!

Dpd, thanks for a very enjoyable recap. I was laughing out loud at several points, with your clever observations, such as "Flashin that moola is not smart. He goes to el bathroom and one of the bartenders relieves him of his money.

Oh oh, Chucho finds his money is gone, (maybe a FDIC banco would have been better.)". I love how you throw in the spanish words to give the recap just the right flavor.

I liked the scene where Lisette asked Maura why SHE couldn't go after Ulises, and Maura said, because I'm the big sister, and I pay all your bills. (I think that's what she said, might have it wrong). BTW, many of our viewers here aren't too impressed with Ulises, but it sure seems that several of the ladies on the show are.

Hombre, he's just plain nasty and I can't figure out what they see in him. Ack!

Lisette should never get close to disgusting men! She will always be Luz Clarita to me.

Jarocha

Or Daniela

Jarocha

Dpd, I also liked EZ for Ezekiel. He sure is EZ for Bruno to manipulate.

I liked how MJ said to Paula, let's just give Alejandro the deeds (escrituras) to Pedro's apartment now. This was to pay for the damage in the bar. But weren't they going to sell the house to pay for the money Alex gave Ruffino?

Speaking of Ruffino, when Chucho and Pedro were in the cantina, they were giving out a lot of info to the girls. I was thinking somehow Ruffino's guys will one day meet up with these bar ladies, and that's how they could locate Alex and his millions. But I also like the idea some of us have had that the girls somehow lead to MJ's long lost sister or double.

Dipity, thanks for the great recap and enjoy you trip on a "jet plane".

Connie, if my son had pulled some of the stunts that Bruto has pulled he would cross-eyed from me knocking him on the side of the head. Just kidding, he knew not to go there and expected the same from all of this friends.

Alex needs to move out of that nut house (he can afford it) and just let them kill each other off. He would probably be perfectly happy living on a beach somewhere with MJ.

rsk

That's good to hear RSK. It just amazes me how kids talk to their parents today. If I ever talked to my parents like that my ass would be grass. Same for my kids. I'm not really strict at all and I tolerate a lot but I don't tolerate that. Bruno should have been turned over someone's knee a long time ago. The sad thing is that now its too late.

For somebody with a bad leg, Pedro sure was getting his stomp on.

This Mercedes girl will show up again because she said something about an ill brother. They spent way too much time for her not to show up again.

Great recap DP. Thanks for the ending Incog. I dozed off.

Is Lizette that cute little girl who played Luz Clarita??? I always wondered what happened to her. I guess, grew up!!!

Haha I just read your comment Stephe about "ignoring Fer-no-no. You can sure say that again.

You make a really good point about the lack of trust being a two-way street between Alex and MJ, Vivi in DC. Alex should have been mistrusting the source from the very start, but he's too jealous and insecure about MJ right now (not that he doesn't have some reason, given how they met, but even so...) to be able to just write what Maura told him off for the malicious spite it is. MJ didn't help, though, when he came home and asked her if anything was wrong. It was obvious from her body language that there was something, but she wasn't telling him about it. On the other hand, Alex certainly didn't want to say anything because he didn't want to open himself up to accusations of fraternizing with his ex-lover, and trusting said ex-lover more than the woman he claims as his wife and says he loves. Alex and MJ have had frank talks in the past, but I think they're way overdue for another one. And this time they really should lay all their cards on the table, instead of holding some of them back for whatever reason.

Incog

Incog and Vivi...I have an addition to your comments on Alex and MJ..... when someone is overly jealous and has BIG reactions, everyone, including confident people are dis-inclined to tell them the truth. When MJ said no, collectively all of us in viewerville began sweating bullets, because we know Alex acts a little like a high school boyfriend, crazy. Poor MJ is getting h--- from every angle in Casa Lombard.....so is Alex. I'm dreading tonight, his reaction to the accidental tumble isn't going to be good.

Ann-NYC: Yep, that's Daniela Luján. She kept doing novelas for kids into her early teens and later got a steady job on a comedy show while she worked as the main character in several theater plays. The comedy show went on hiatus last year and then she appeared in Sortilegio.

dpd, what a nice job. Funny, detailed, insightful. I love the family values displayed in these TNs. How heartwarming it is to the entire family gather around the dining room table for the evening meal. No TV trays for this bunch.

Raquel's appeal for me just grows and grows. I admired aloud here before her icy, aloof, disdainful beauty. Now she shows us what a sensuous minx she can be in private. Her partner selection is a bit suspect, but her sense of waste not, want not, as noted by Anon, with the remaining wine glasses is admirable.

If Samuel could accept the infidelity there is no reason the gemelos de infierno can't.

I think that was Cesár Évora with the niña. He was in Corazón Salvaje along with another older actor muy guapo, Enrique Lizalde. Colunga appeared in a stage play with Évora.

I removed my last post because of the very sad news out of Fort Hood..our thoughts and prayers go out to the families of the victims.

Variopinta: Yes, that was Cesar Évora, his voice is amazing sin't it?. Did you know Enrique Lizalde was the Juan Del Diablo of the first adaptation for a telenovela back in 1966? He was so handsome as Juan. I got to see a special on CZ years ago where they had alot of scenes from that version and the one from the 70's. I've seen the movie, is not as good as the '93 version but Angelica Maria is excellent as Mónica.

Bruno's expression at the end after his "fake" fall was interesting indeed, one of the few times I've seen him let his guard down and look at MJ with intense desire. Usually he's got that icy sociopathic indifference thing going, you're my possession, you do as I say or get hurt, I will slap your head off, my love, what I do you make me do, etc. But while he was trying to keep her on top of him, he slipped and showed a bit of a weak spot, desperation. Can't you just love me, and let me make love to you? Please? *shiver* Scary.

Pedro was indeed shooting his mouth off about his rich wonderful son-in-law. Trouble, especially with us not seeing Rufino for a while. You just know he and his men are waiting, under the radar, for an opening.

Yes, Alex's reaction if he sees the accidental tumble tomorrow night won't be good, especially with MJ still not officially making his room their room.

Raquel was most definitely finishing everyone's vino. Suddenly you're not who you've always thought you were--owwww. I wonder will it ever sink in that she sexually propositioned her own brother? Double owwwww.

Oh, such snark, Carlos. Love it. :)

Yes, that accidental tumble was preventable. MJ keeps putting herself in bad positions. She knows how horrible Bruno is and continues to expose herself to his bad treatment. She's in a bad spot, living in that house and has to be careful about what she does. She shouldn't wander outside alone. Like all co-dependents, her wanting to take care of everybody else has only made things worse.

This won't happen, but wouldn't it be great if Alex gave up the business. Maybe, if he took 1/3 of the net worth and left the rest for Bruno and Raquel to run. Ha, he could start up his own business and they would run down the old one. He would be free and clear of them since the will is contested. They have no skills, no work ethic and only know how to play the victim because Vic allowed it. It would be a really short telenovela...

Ditto, Sandy. :(

Stephe- I noticed that look of desire on Bruno's face too. You described it so eloquently. We'll have to see how it all turns out tomorrow. But Alex needs to get a grip, take a breath, and calm down so that he can approach Bruno and all the other crap coming his way rationally. I know. Too much to ask. But has has bee such a (relatively) level-headed galan up till this point. Now he's letting his jealousy and rage at Bruno take over too often.

-Vivi in DC

Heck yes, jb. That would show 'em. I'm sure Lombardo Construction, as big as it is, has several separate divisions and/or entities. Just divide that sucker up, Alex take his part and run, even get himself and MJ a new home. Clean break. (but no more capitulos either, hahaha).

Let them bloodsucking twins run theirs into the ground.

Vivi, ITA. With everything going on (and more coming behind), Alex is beginning to crack--you can see it in his face and body language. Not good. Not good at all.

Why oh why didn't MJ just kick Bruno in the head while he was down?

Glad Raquel didn't let all that good vino go to waste.

Darn! I forgot we have to wait until Friday. Oh well. I share most everyone's thoughts on the usual, Fer, Vic, MJ's stupidity. Although I am really feeling sorry for MJ being couped up in that house. I would go mad. It almost seems like she's captive, like she's not even allowed to leave. QTF?
I am also beginning to like Robert more and more. He is honest about being a loafer and a nobody. And he likes to party. Someone mentioned that they were bothered that he was bi. I'm not sure why. Hell there's bi women all the time on TV and in the movies. It's about time we see bi men. I think it's very progressive for a Telenovela to introduce it. That was the last thing I expected given that Mexican culture is known for being conservative and macho. Kudos to them!! Now I just hope that Roberto turns out to be good. If both of the bi men turn out to be jerks then what kind of a statement would that be!!

I don't think Alex will see MJ and Bruno in their embrace. I believe what will set him off is the flowers sent to MJ. It seems team Mexitrash is behind it. Probably still using the fictional Mario Aguirre. Since we saw Raquel grabbing the card we know she will add her nasty two cents.

Hello everyone. I'm new to the Sortilegio section although I commented a lot during CCEA. I was going through withdrawals for the William/Maite team but I'm starting to warm up to the William/Jacquie team and completely hooked to Sorti.

I like when Alex decided he'd had enough of the dinner from hell, he thought of MJ enough to grab her hand before heading upstairs. It shows that he remembers her regardless. And that despite of everything, he doesn't forget what's important to him.

Also, didn't anyone - guests or family members - take pictures of MJ's & Bruno's (as Alex) civil wedding? That should be proof enough that Bruno was behind everything.

Thank you recappers for helping us non-Spanish speaking viewers understand what's really being said.

JT

Jenny, Bruno covered all of his bases concerning the civil marriage. He probably made sure no photos were taken. We have to give Bruno props for that at least. Alex can't find anything so far to prove Bruno is behind the attempt on his life. Or the marriage to MJ so that's why he suddenly came up with the lie he forgot everything.

Jenny, I agree. I thought it was very cute the way Alex left and took MJ with him. They definetely make a nice pair. I love how they're always clutching on to each other.

And btw anon, I've noticed too how MJ seems locked in the freaking mansion de Lombardo. It's like a living nightmare. Completely pity her for that.

Cielo de Levy i know she feels trapped in the multi-colored mansion of loonies. Alex needs to give her something to do other than babysit her annoying father, and placating his in deep denial step mom.

Seriously why doesn't he take her with him to work or something. Then he can keep his eyes on her too...I mean I already hate being trapped at home. I can't imagine being trapped at home with a bunch of idiots who are either conspiring against me or hating on me in some way or another...

Cielo de Levy i agree with you then she would have to deal with only Fer-no no.
