Thanks Serendipity, for giving us the highlights. And thanks, yesterday, to Kat for a great recap.

I'm amazed at how chipper and slender MJ is just a few days after delivery. No saggy belly, no inconvenient leaking breasts, able to walk downstairs with no delivery area pain, no red eyes from lack of sleep, etc. Plus, she doesn't have to worry about doing the laundry or putting dinner on the table. Asi es la vida de TNs.

Maura was asking Lissette about her health--was she anorexic, or whatever. Couldn't catch all that.

Elena is a cold-hearted beatch, but that husband of hers is a real piece of work. He and Bruno could go into business together.

My choice for the next TN would be a rerun of Pasion, but that's just wishful thinking.

Enjoyed Vicki telling Bruno he's the son of the devil and why is he still let into the main house?

Vicki even if he denied it do you really believe him and did you have to say it that way to Paula.

I was so hoping Alex would give him another beat down.

Why doesn't anyone tell Alex about Bruno's brutality towards MJ and now Paula. Felipa saw how Bruno threw her down to the ground.

What a muscle bound jerk he is.

Chucho didn't Alex warn you about the last time you lied to him it better be your last time you do that. Some people never learn.

I like how Roberto pulled his hand away from Useless when he touched it. Roberto please don't be tempted by this slime ball offer of millions to help him.

This jerk is talking about kidnapping baby Tony with Maura to get MJ to cooperate with him and Elena.

I happen to like Sandra's granpa he an old crusty ole cuss. He probably sees right through Elena's insincerity that's why he treats her like that.

Too bad he doesn't know Sandra is not his real grand daughter because Elena and her hubby would definitely be cut off from his money.

Thanks for the recap Dipity. I didnt' get to see the whole episode this morning. Had to get on the road because of the snow we got last night. Sigh... Does anyone else have problems with Univision? (Besides the cc of course). Tuesday night the sound wasn't in sync with their mouths. Drove me crazy.

Elena is terrible but her husband is worse. I don't know who is worse him or Bruno.

That baby sure is a cutie.

MJ's recovery from 'childbirth' is amazing, isn't it??? She doesn't even seem to have trouble sitting down. I guess she didn't need an episiotomy. Lucky girl. How nice, too, that her baby doesn't have colic! (ha!)

Anon: My very humble rating of the Sorti performances starting with the best.....

1. William Levy: It isn’t just his looks, it is the way he put entire body into his performance, his walk, his shoulders, his expressive anger, his very emotional face..... and it sounds like Hollywood agrees with us!
2. Ana Brenda: Like Levy, she brings an incredibly expressive face to her performance. Her tears are real, she paces, she smolders, she loves Alex and she has lost him and we feel it!
3. Pedro: (Name?) This actor is very consistent, he has done a fabulous job of playing a (????- Elna June, you diagnosed it so well) lazy, lying, helpless, yet in a way charming, millstone jerk of a father. He IS Pedro.
4. Katia: (Name?)I know... a surprise! This actress has done a super job of playing a spoiled, lazy, insulting, naive, sneaky, entitled brat. Also, she notched up her performance as Bruno began to push her away, I saw emotional confusion in her eyes, denial and REAL sadness. Katia’s eyes easily rim in tears, no glycerin needed.

I think the above actors have done an outstanding job. There are others that are really good, but for various reasons, not good enough to be in the top category.

5. Erik: (actor?) Super good, he has played Bruno’s angry, cornered, hopeless, caged employee very well. Again, this actor uses his entire body in his performance, he slumps his shoulders and clumps along when his spirit is broken by Bruno, besides, he has had the handicap of the worst shirts in television! He might belong in the above category, but I think he really needed more facial close-ups to break into the top!!
6. Marcelo Cordoba/ David Zepeda: Tied! I think that both of these actors are talented. Roberto/Marcelo has had a very tough role, moving from a lazy parasite to a contributer, yet, to me, he has looked a little wooden at times, something about his eyes. Poor Bruno/David, he has done a good job, but in playing a one-note-samba type of villain, he hasn’t been allowed to “strut his stuff” as an actor.
7. Daniela: I know this is controversial here at Caray Caray, but for me, there has been hesitation in her loves scenes with Fernando. If it weren’t for this, I would put her at number three above based on her performance as the guilty, regretful Vicky. As she has murmured “mi culpa” quietly in her room, I have FELT her pain.

Several others, Mari, Elena, Cucho, Filipa, Cuco (!), Ezekiel, Hernan have been good, but either didn’t have a noteworthy role or haven’t been on the screen enough to judge.

As others have pointed out, is it the directing or the performance? I think Raquel /Chantal Andere’s hand and body gestures have been too big, even “slap-stickish” but, honestly, I’ve never known anyone like her in real life so maybe I shouldn’t judge. Same with Paula/ Wendy Gonzolas, “too big” of a performance, but in both cases , it might be the directing.

I have put Ulisis (name?) and Jackie B in the never never land of neither really good or really bad.


Anon, too bad we can’t get together for “our drink” and really hash this out!!!

I was thinking about Pedro and have come to the conclusion that he is a complete coward. I think the only reason he is willing to go to jail is that he doesnt want to face Mj and Paola about Sandra and Elena b/c he knows it is only a matter of time before Alex tells Mj. Other wise why would he want them to think hes dead. Its not like he killed someone and was going to spend the rest of his life in jail.

Useless needs to die. He is so money hunger he is willing to kidnap a newborn QTF. How about getting a J. O. B.

Maybe Maura will kill him for messing with her sister, by the smirk on his face it seems like he' already chosen his next victim.
Lissette can you say STD.

I can't even image Alex's anger toward the person who would put his son's life in danger. We know how he was with anyone coming b/t him and MJ.

Sandy love your list i think it was Vivi who bought the actors who play Alex's lawyers as good too.

So i will include them along with the the actor playing the detective good blending in the scenes veteran actors.

Some actors i missed in mu lists from yesterday. The actor who plays Elena's husband number 3.

Last night i just felt his simmering hatred towards Porfio i think that's his name Sandra's grandfather.

As he was being embarrassed along with Elena in front of strangers he just met. A well played part from a good veteran actor.

Sandra grandfather i have seen him in other novelas and a episode of Mujeres Asesinas from last year.

It was something about his cranky ol' cuss of a performance that i have recognized before in some elderly that are about his age.

Well played and acted. As for the actor who plays Ferdumbo's uncle, he's just a part i guess that is needed but i feel the actor or maybe how the part is written.

He just needed to push along the plots but he's not memorable.

I didn't know what to say about JB and Julian Gil, so i had to give it some thought.

Julian Gil the actor who plays Useless some times i don't know what to make of his acting and i have seen him in other novelas.

I would say compare to the other novelas i have seen him in i would have to say this is his best performance to date.

Well most of us can't stand him that much is true but at the same time i think if this role was given to a better actor.

He would be rivaling Bruno as one of the villains we can't wait to have a untimely end.

Like you said the actor who plays Elena's husband last night just by his performance last night. Is right on the same level as Bruno.

That's what good acting does less screen time but very effective and believable performance.

Also Julian Gil worked on Accoralda with William and David too.
 

Now for my take on JB performance i will give her credit because she is far a better actress than Carla first choice for the role.

At the same time i think Carla should have tried to get someone who could hold her own with William.

Sometimes i can feel the scenes and the emotions she supposed to be displaying and other times she comes across flat.

Everytime i hear her say tengo miedo i am reminded of Candi her role from Tontas.

Honestly i think some of the comments i read about JB from when Tontas was on has made me more critical of her.

When i saw her in Heridas de Amor i really happened to like her, but still she is being outperformed by William.

I would say her performance is uneven for me.

Sandy i'll be thinking of you later on tonight when i have that drink.

The issue concerning Lissette having a STD well big sis Maura seems to keep a very watchful eye over her.

So it seems maybe she's all talk about wanting to hookup with this guy and that one over there.

I do think she's sick though and since she fainted last night and everyone been commenting on how she looks we'll find out soon enough.

Ebony ITA if they mess with baby Antonio i would not want to be in Useless and in Maura's shoes.

Alex has already threaten Useless about what he did to Raqhell so he has hell to pay for just even that.

The only one i can see helping them with this plan is Bruno that's why he shouldn't be allowed in the main house.

For the Anon at 6:48am Alex asked Roberto is it true that he's a homosexual and Roberto told his he was bi-sexual.

He told him about how it was being married to Raqhell and why he strayed.

You may ask why Alex didn't have a clue but the guy has been busy running a major corporation like Lombardo Construction.

Taking care of the lazy illegal work by inept half brother.Getting over attempted murder, being married to a woman he never saw in his entire life.

Trying to get to the bottom of that and finding out he's fallen in love with then dealing with the schemes from Bruno and team Mexitrash at the same time.

Being stranded on the island for how long was it four months?

Yeah he did have time to sleep in everyday like Bruno that's why Bruno knows so much. He spends his day finding out everything so he can use it to his advantage.

I have one more character to add that i almost forgot, Charlie from survivor island.


This little guy stole his scenes with Levy and Soto on the island and if it wasn't for him.Our two hunky honeys would have really perished for real.

I loved his big wide smile and enjoyed the scene where he lost his under wear in the ocean and didn't want to come in because he was embarrassed to be naked in front of Alex and Ferdumbo.

This was probably his first acting gig and he really did a good job with his role.
 

Anon: You're right about all the lawyers and many of the veteran actors in the Elena/Sandra plot. There have and/or will be some outstanding performances of "minor" actors before Sorti is finished. My hubby and I had a great time, thanks for asking, and I'll be happy to think about you as I have my well deserved "drink" tonight!!!

Ebony: I think you're on to something. Pedro can avoid the fall out from his BIG lie if he is in jail. He can also play the ever present sympathy card that he is a world class pro at playing.

Vivi: On my comments of yesterday about the unsympathetic characters in this novela...none of the other story lines or people in them interest me like perhaps Vlad and Pris of MEPS did. I love Cuco and he does have a cute role, but that is it for me, no other interesting subplots, etc. I guess that is what I am trying to say!
 

I think Ulisis is sexy! Well the actor. I think he gets his pretty soon. I will really miss this show!
Does anyone know what other shows Julian gil is on!

Cielo, Alex DID tell MJ about Pedro, and MJ was very upset, of course.

As for Bruno getting caught for some of the things he says and does, I think all members of the extended Lombardo family (but especially MJ and Paula) should wear portable tape recorders, so every time Bruno approached, they could switch them on, and they'd have the evidence. It's funny (but normal) that we know so much about everything going on, but most of the characters don't know the half of it).
 

Thanks Serendipitypb for the recap. Whoever said that the interlopers would kidnapped the baby to get MJ to cooperate with the Sandra money scheme called it right. I'm not looking forward to the babynapping which by the previews may happen tonight. I wonder too if Lissette has a eating disorder. She looked really pale.
 

Thanks for the recap Serendipity. You hit all the important parts. I am happy for all that you recappers do. I also will be sad to see this show end. I love William Levy in this and JB is better in this than I thought she was in Las Tontas. I think the actor playing Elana's husband is the same actor that plays Salvador on un gauncho al corazon only with darker hair or hair piece. I hope I can get this to post this time. Lynda
 

Rebecca, Julian Gil is in Accorralda with William and David. He was also in Valeria a daytime novela that finished this past September.

Ebony you definitely got it about Pedro how in the world does he tell Chucho first to lie about him being a trip for their business.

Then after a few months have passed tell them he has died, what a first class loser. Never wants to take responsibility for his actions.

Does know the truth if it walk right up and bit him on the butt. Then wants everyone to feel sorry for his pathetic self when he's caught in his lies.

I really feel sorry for MJ to be saddle with a father like him, she not only had to help raise and be a mother to Paula.

She had to do it for the pathetic waste of a father.

Thank you so much for doing the recaps—even when you have had technical difficulties.I have given up on the cc's myself. They are so far behind as to only confuse me, so all recaps, brief and long are gratefully received.

Nice run-down on the players, Sandy. what a thoughtful look at the performances.In a quick and dirty vote, I also give Wm Levy highest marks and place Pedro (so sorry, Sr. Actor, I do not know your real name) as numero dos. He does victim/martyr to a "T".I find Elena horrifying, but compelling and very watchable. She get's my bronze medal. Bracamontes is good with Levy but boring otherwise. I'll have to give the rest of the cast more thought...

Oh, I really like Filipa! She is a gem.
 

All:
I hate the kidnapping the bebe idea! Who will take care of little Antonio? I have always believed that most kids can turn out alright if they experience true love in their families/communities.

It makes me anxious to think about the treatment this baby could receive at the hands of all of our baddies in this show. They all (Bruno, Useless, Elena, Dr. Dastardly, Maura) live their lives in such a poisonous way...
 

Elna i was thinking the same way but since Alex is looking for Useless anyway i don't think he will get access to come onto the Lombardo property anymore.


Maura still has access because Alex hasn't told MJ about her involvement in the Mario Aguirre plot.I keep stressing this is a big mistake by our boy Alex.

I think if he told Vicki she would point out to him why Maura shouldn't be around MJ anymore too.

If a woman is willing to do something low down and dirty as she did to break them up. There's just no telling what else she would try.

Remember how when Alex came back from the DR and found out how MJ was selling some shares to Maura and Lissette.He wanted to call her and Vicki talked to about the shock to MJ.

What was Alex's response i don't care, sometimes men are so insensitive. That's how he is acting with his knowledge of what Maura did.

To me it has to be Bruno and now that he knows about MJ's twin guarantee he will probably try to take over this plot like he did with the Mario Aguirre plot.

Just wanted to chime in and say ITA about Levy's performance being the best. Hope he wins an award for this one.

Carlita, ss best I can remembeer, Ale asked Rob if he was homosexual, and Rob admitted to something with Use, but said he strayed because of the sad state of his marriage. Someone summed it up better earlier on today's blog.
 

Many thanks for the recap. (To anon-it's a recap, not a detailed word for word translation. I don't speak spanish much either,mostly fluent in French,but I appreciate what the recappers offer and figure the rest out myself. Not that hard.)
My regret with the show now is that we are moving hot and heavy into the twin to MJ plot and all those characters wanting the money. None of them are interesting, and I especially dislike the character and actress doing Elena. I'm almost tempted to switch to something else when they drone on and on with her in a scene. honestly, Bruno is at least more "fun" to watch as the actor is having a field day with the role.
I wonder if we are being fooled in the previews with the baby. I just hope they don't go there...that's just wrong.

ITA about Charlie from Survivor Island. He was sooo adorable!

Sandy in TN - even when WL has his back to the camera (i.e. sitting on sofa at Maura's when she was confessing re M Aguirre), one can still sense the emotion he tries to convey at the time by his stance - simply superb!!!
 

and one more thing about WL's expressive face - he can contort it, cry, get all bruised up/bloodied, eyebags, etc etc, yet still remain so handsome... HE ABSOLUTELY DOES NOT HAVE A BAD ANGLE.

I, too, do not want that sweet bebe kidnapped, but I agree that the novelas often use these little ones as pawns in the schemes of the evil adult villains . Que lastima. I enjoy Felipa's endless lectures to poor Cuco. She probably sounds to little puppy the way Charlie Brown's teacher sounds to him... ''WahWaHwAh.'' Also, the scenes between Fernono and Vick have warmed up a bit, and they are looking a little more believable as a couple. As for Roberto o o , I am volunteering to serve as his private duty nurse...despite my lack of any medical credentials. Nurse Susy reporting for sponge bath duty, Bob.

If they kidnap the baby I'm going to have to bail. Those storylines are too awful for this wuss. Dang, I wish they wouldn't do this. And they always seem to in Carla's novelas.

Thanks DPD. Recapping Mon nights on Gancho, I can certainly relate to the misery and chagrin caused by technical difficulties. I've finally caught back up with the episodes I had to put on hold during our trip to Isla Mujeres and then the holidays. Congratulations to the Lombardo family on the birth of little Tony. I thought the delivery room scene was well done and very realistic. I was just starting to enjoy the Sandra character when she went and ODed on us. Heck. I'm hoping that she recovers but it doesn't look good either medically (usually a surmountable problem even in the worst case) or plotwise (less easily overcome and usually fatal).

I thought we were having CC problems with Gancho, but the Sortilegio CCs were downright psychotic the last few nights. Once before we complained about CCs to Univision and they improved for a while. Whether this was a result of our complaints (politely voiced of course) or simply fortuitous I can't say, but it's certainly worth a try. It's my recollection that as of Jan 1 Spanish broadcast networks in the US are bound by the same laws as the English language networks. Maybe Jeanne who is our expert in these matters will drop back in and offer her advice. I know that good CCs make my recapping easier since I do have significant hearing loss and am still relatively inexperienced in the language as for as understanding the spoken words. Heck, I use the CCs for viewing shows in English especially those from the UK.

Good to see the discussions here are as lively as ever. I see a number of new names and even more Anons than ever.

Carlos - ADM! a couple months ago I tried to call Univision re CC, and found it very difficult to navigate their web for contacts.
I finally got a number from my contact at T-mundo, and when I dialed the number, it just kept ringing; tried several times, and someone finally picked up, attempted to transfer me, then got disconnected. Doesn't seem like they've got their act together -very unprofessional.
 

DPD: You did a great job and hit the necessary hilites --especially appreciated considering your technical problems. You're a real trooper! Thanks!

I'm stressing because I have got to wait to the weekend to actually see the video's,(another 5 hr. marathon!) so whatever you get into print the next day is a great help.

Does anyone have a list of unresolved plotlines so far? Since Sorti's in its final weeks, just curious which will come to light and which will be left hanging. FOR EXAMPLE, Maura paid Eric for info when Alex &Fern were on the Island and Eric told her all about Bruno marrying MJ as Alex and the attempted killing of Alex yet Maura hasn't told Alex this. Just like Alex has yet to tell MJ about Maura making up Mario Aguirre... Just wondering.....

It seems in their rush to mass produce these novelas, they are cutting a lot of corners.

Alex hasn't told MJ that Ferdumbo may know her mother.
 

Hi all! Was gone all day and just got to reading these comments. But wanted to drop in to say hello, commend you all on the lively comments, and to thanks DPD for soldiering on despite technical difficulties.

I am very much enjoying these episodes with the baby and lots of love (cause I'm a big softie), and like MJ am quite upset that this whole Bruno/Pedro in jail thing is putting a damper on all that happiness. But, such are things in the telenovela world! :)

I was doing the recap last night when my computer was visited by MALWARE which of course took my computer down.

Hopefully, All the Cr*p has been removed!

FIL is doing good. Me, I have never seen so many gray days than are here in NE Ohio.

I like Jackie B. in her role as MJ with WL. Of course I love WL.

All in all Sortilegio is at the top for novelas for me. It has moved quickly, keeps us guessing and has a great guy to look at, and is surprisingly short. I know it is a remake, has anyone seen any of the originals?

dpd - i saw a portion of tu o nadie on youtube and religiously watched acapulco. i liked the twists in acapulco, except that WL isn't there :-(
 

I highly recommend seeing how the actor played Bruno in Tu O Nadie. Both portrayals are valid and well done. But in Tu O Nadie the Bruno left a creeping fear that this could explain your neighbors strange ways. I still feel cold on my back when I remember that Bruno.
