En Nombre del Amor, January 21, 2010--Time for Another Episode of "Law and (Dis)order: Unreal del Monte"

Emiliano is at the hospital showing Anamar his baby when Romina calls and wants to know where he is; he gets annoyed hangs up on her.

Eugenio tells Luz to go see Leticia Lopez in Pachuca for help on the Xochitl situation, then scolds her for not doing things by the book. After Luz leaves the room to get Xochitl, Rafa thanks Eug for his help with exporting the ceramics. Euge replies that he wouldn’t have agreed to help if the products had been poor quality.

Carlota thinks about her encounter with Eugenio and wonders who he really is. She doesn’t like that his presence unnerves her.

The prosecutor reads a piece of paper and says today is going to be a very important day in the trial thanks to this information--he's going to show that Cristobal was just a man hiding under his priest’s garb. The clerk asks who sent it but the prosecutor doesn’t know. He seems to think that if wins the case he’ll be the next Johnnie Cochran or something. The clerk thinks Cris is innocent, which makes the lawyer spout off about how amoral Cris is, etc.

At the trial, the prosecutor calls Cris to the stand and asks about Macarena. Cris has a flashback of his reunion with Mac and explains that he and Mac realized they’d been duped by the evil one into thinking the other was dead. The lawyer asks if learning that Mac was alive made him doubt his vocation and think of leaving the priesthood. Cris admits that he did, and he had thought about it seriously. (Mientras tanto, Euge has entered the courtroom.) Prosecutor asks if Cris told Mac this. Flashback of Cris proposing to Mac and her accepting. Euge whispers to Madeleine that German should have told Cris not to answer. Cris answers anyway: he proposed to her the day before her accident--he left the church for her. Paloma is impactada. But when Mac was dying he went back to religious life so that she could go in peace. The prosecutor says, oh, so you can take the habits off and just like that? Uproar from the peanut gallery.

The prosecutor asks who else knew about Cris’s plans to propose to Mac and leave the church. Cris only told Padre Benito, Orlando and Natalia. The lawyer asks if Cris had a romantic relationship with her when she was alone in Real del Monte. Cris gets mad and yells no, no, y NO! More uproar. Prosecutor gets all dramatic, claiming that Cris was seen getting into Nat’s car the day of Alonso’s accident, but Cris says she was just taking him to the church. German objects that he’s badgering his client; I think the judge sustains the objection (“ha lugar”--thank you closed captioning) and says ok, that’s enough for today, we’ll reconvene tomorrow.

As Cris leaves, Paloma throws a tantrum about him and Mac deceiving her. What she felt for him has just died FOREVER. Cris tries to explain that they had reasons for keeping quiet and Pal was going to be the first to know--I give you my word it’s the truth. Pal just rants at him that his word means nothing to her and he isn’t who she thought he was. She yells that she’s never coming back to the courthouse again and runs out. German advises Cris to give her time--you know how women are (!!!). Eugenio thinks Pal needs to get her faith and trust in Cris back, and the first step towards that is for him to demonstrate his innocence. Cris agrees and tells German, sorry, you’re fired. Euge is taking my case.

Luz and Rafa are with Xochitl at what I suppose is a social worker’s office. She explains that they have to do a physical and psychological evaluation first, then they can discuss what will happen with Xochi.

Rufi tells Dr. B. that she didn’t know about Cris and Mac’s plans to marry. Dr. B. understands now why Mac didn’t want to marry him. Rufi wonders why Mac didn’t tell her about the proposal when she had always told Rufi everything before. Dr. B. says he feels like an idiot and is totally bummed out.

When Emiliano comes home, Romi pretends that she wanted to meet Anamar so as to know more about Emil; she suggests they invite Anamar to dinner. Romi says she made dinner and is going to take cooking classes--she wants to be a good wife--but Emil claims he’s not hungry and goes off to bed.

Back to Rafa and Luz. The social worker or whoever she is returns and reports that Xochi has been physically abused. And that will have important psychological implications. Rafa asks if they can take Xochitl home with them while things are worked out. The lady agrees to make an exception--they can take her for a couple of days. Luz is elated.

Anamar thinks to herself that she couldn’t have come at a better time, and maybe now there is a real chance for her and Emil. She’s willing to move there to be with him.

Gabriel walks Pal home. She confesses that Mac was her mother, not her aunt. But Cris isn’t her father. Now she understands why Cris reacted the way he did when she told him Mac was her mom, because Mac never told him. Pal says she doesn’t want to feel anything, but Gabriel tells her to allow herself to feel her pain and sadness, and paint it. It’s fine to feel the anger and hurt, but then let it go. If you need me I’m just a call away. She thanks him, saying “you don’t know how important you are to me,” then goes inside. Not as important as you are to me, Gabe thinks.

As Cris is being led to the police car to take him back to jail, German begs him to reconsider--this is going to seriously affect my career. Cris questions whether German worked on this case with honesty--Germy claims he did, but Cris doesn’t seem to believe him. He advises Germy to do some self-introspection and bids him good night.

Angelica is awakened late at night by the doorbell and stupidly doesn’t look through the peephole before opening the door. Lucky for her, it’s only Miriam, who’s crying and upset. Turns out that Dario found her and threatened her that if they continue with this, it’s going to get bad for them. Miriam says she can’t go back to Mexico City.

Carlota is at the dining table with a glum-looking Pal (of course) and she can’t believe that Cris admitted to proposing to Mac while he was still a priest. Maybe that’s why God allowed that accident that took her life, Crazylota muses, he was punishing her. Rufi disagrees and says they can’t judge Macarena, especially when she’s not there to defend herself. Pal wants to know why did they hide it, why didn’t Cris leave the church first before proposing? Gee, I don’t know, maybe because it would be game over once the Purple One found out? Carlota rants some more about Mac dishonoring the family. Rufi sticks it to Carlota here and says she’s glad that Mac left this world happy--look of death from Carlota--and knowing that she was loved by the man that she loved so much. Rufi thinks Mac deserved to be happy because life was very UNFAIR [pointedly looking at Carlota here] to her. So, she advises Pal, don’t judge your mother, because one day you could regret it.

German is at a bar throwing back drinks. He’s all mad and thinks no, this can’t be happening to me! What do I do? Carlota will be furious. Ha, ya think?

Angelica brings Miriam some tea and tries to calm her down. Did you report Dario to the police? No. Miriam says she was afraid and only went home long enough to grab some clothes and leave--she’s never seen Dario like that before. Ange tells her she can stay there as long as she wants and offers to talk to Orlando to see if there might be a job available at the office.

Montage of Pal drawing and crying (and it looks like she’s writing something too) while Gabe and Emil sit around looking tortured, with Gabe thinking he doesn’t have much time and wants to take advantage of it with Pal at his side, and Emil thinking he has to have Pal far away. Oh, the agony.

Madeleine is happy that Eugenio has taken Cris’s case and wants to pay him, but Euge insists that it’s not necessary, he’s doing this for her. After she leaves, Gabe tells Euge he knows something that might be important to the case: Mac is Pal’s mom. Euge gets very animated, saying that could be the motive for Carlota wanting to ruin Cris. He’s not sure if it’s for jealousy or wounded pride, but she could be behind the whole Cris Is the Worst Person in the World campaign. Euge thinks not only is she controlling German, but she could also be helping the prosecutor, because he knows too much, info that nobody knew. Euge believes she’s dangerous and is capable of manipulating both the defense and prosecution.

Pal feels bad about Dr. B. being deceived by Mac and is sure that his offer to live with him in Mexico City is down the tubes, so now she won’t be able to leave RdM--he doesn’t have any reason to take responsibility for them. After Pal goes off to art class, Rufi wonders if Pal could be right (about Dr. B’s offer, I guess).

Orlando and Emiliano chat at the office about the trial and about Cris changing lawyers. Emil mentions that he’s continuing with the volunteer work and that he and Pal are going their separate ways, blah blah blah. Orlando asks if Emil has thought about taking his name; Emil replies that it’s a no go. Sorry Dad, I’m Emiliano Saenz even though I have your blood.

Pal shows her drawing to Gabe--it's a picture of Emil. He lights a candle and says, burn it, then tell me how you feel. She tears it up and then lights the pieces on fire while Gabe watches in the background.

Rafa brings some new clothes for Xochi. Luz thinks she wasn’t mistaken with him--he is exactly like she imagined. She felt very good when he presented her to the social worker as his girlfriend. She likes being his woman because she doesn’t feel like half of something, but like a whole that shares with another whole. They say they love each other and kiss.

Camila paces in her shop and tells Meche she can’t stop thinking about Rafa, but she doesn’t know why.

Pal has told Gabe about Dr. B. no longer being her ticket out of town, but he points out that she’s making an assumption and it’s better to find out for sure first. Anyway, there’s another way for her to go to the city--she can go with him and live with Rufi, and he can teach her even more than what they’ll teach under the scholarship from his dad. He offers to give her a loan and she can pay him when she gets her inheritance. Pal doesn’t understand why he’s helping her; he admits that it’s because he luuuuuvs her. Cara impactada de Paloma, otra vez.

In the avances Carlota finds out that Germy got fired and has a hissy fit, natch. And it says Ultimas Semanas, hooray!

Thanks Debbie. Great recap. Some good turning points last night with the truth about Cris and Mac coming out, Eugenio taking over the case, Gabe telling Pal he luuuuurvs her.

I guess I get Pal's reaction about Mac and Cris, but for some reason I thought she was just a tad over the top with it. Maybe it's her getting hit at every turn with something new, but I was glad that Rufi finally put it in a bit of perspective for her. I mean, girl, you know you might be off a bit when you and Carlotta are agreeing about something.

Does anyone really think Germy will have an enlightening moment as Cris asks him to search for? Methinks not. He's more upset about losing the bucks and having to report back to the Wicked Witch of the South. From the previews, he was probably right to down a few shots before heading to tell her. Her royal rage will be spewing purple everywhere.

Poor Gabe. What is it with guys when they fall for Pal. They all become mopers. I almost threw something at my TV when they showed Pal drawing Emi and flipped to him moping. I thought it was another long, drawn-out flashback. But no worries, instead we got another long, drawn-out moping scene and hey, Gabe has joined the group! But as much as I would love a permanent Gabe/Pal hookup, the writers seem to always want to remind us that Emi is still out there pining for her.

As for Emi, I can't wait to see what Anamar has up her sleeve for him. Anyone who drives Romina nuts is okay with me.

I have to say I'm impressed with Rafa hanging in there with Luz. I thought the writers would use the little girl as a means to drive them apart. Instead, it may bring them closer. So, are we closing the possibility of a Rafa/Camilla reunion? Not that I would mind. I like Luz and Rafa together a lot.

Leads me to Camilla. I had to turn from the TV to rescue my cat who closed the door behind her sneaking into the front closet and was wailing up a storm. What was Camilla pacing about in the store? Thanks to anyone who can fill that in for me.

Nasty weather out there for a lot of folks and more coming! Everyone take care out there.

Good morning Ms. Deb...loved how you keep sneaking in "mientras tanto" and thought the Law and (Dis)order title was great. Sorry I had to miss all the manly moping scenes but it's exciting to think we now have someone on the scene who can figure things out (in that wonderful, smoky, rumbling voice) and Carlota will finally be brought to justice. Can't be too soon for me.

Thanks for the recap Debbie. There must be something in the water in RdM. Anamar thinks she couldn't have come at a better time? Emoon is married and says there is another real love in his life. Hmm, what was it like when she was with him before? Somewhat delusional if you ask me. Carloca Jr. is waiting. :)

Rufi, Rufi, really getting under Carloca's skin. You'd have to think Rufi is near the top of her hit list and rising fast.. number one with a bullet? :)

Thanks for the recap Debbie. Things are sure getting interesting and its the officially the ultimas semanas.

I'm still thrilled Chris fired German and with Eugenio on the case La Loca is actually in danger (FINALLY).

Jeff - ITA that Rufi is walking on dangerous ground but for her to die now (not that the writers would not try to pull that) would put Carloca on the hot seat. And with Don Eugenio as Chris' lawyer, at least one person would not hesitate to think she was the murderer.

Clever title Debbie and your recap was excellent. Many great lines including "Her royal rage will be spewing purple everywhere." Excellent!

So glad that Eugenio's "presence unnerves" Carlota. At last - someone she cannot manipulate or control. Karen, you summed it up with just one word: "FINALLY"...

I was surprised that Paloma was angry about Mac and Cris - I knew the tears would flow but thought she'd be more hurt than angry. I'm comforted by the fact she will soon be directed all her fury at Carlota, once Eugenio unearths the truth. And Judy, I agree, his voice is utterly commanding (smoky and smokin')!

daisynjay, I agree that Rafa and Luz are bonding and seem to be becoming stronger as time goes by. I think she's feisty and enjoy her upbeat nature.

Jeff, Rufi keeps pushing the envelope, doesn't she? Bless her.

Diana

Thank you for your very full recap, Debbie. Great title.

Daisynjay, RE: Camila, you didn't miss anything. It was just Camila wondering why she can't get Rafa out of her mind. The usual.

Gabriel was more upbeat when he just had his medical condition to deal with. Pal's problems are definitely getting to him. And hopefully Carloca won't find out about his offer to help Pal & Rufi leave town. His days are already numbered but Carloca doesn't know that and might hasten his departure. I really like this guy so much better than dopey Emiliano, though I did like how Emoo stood up to Orlando and refused to change his name.

O.K., I know there's no reality in Unreal Del Monte, but no way would two unrelated people be given permission to take a child to their home with no prior home visit by the social worker and no background check. Luz and Rafa are not married and barely know each other and they just blithely go off with this little girl. I know that Eugenio pulled a few strings, but that would never happen.

Luz is something of a commitment phobic/free spirit, so maybe having responsibility for a child will settle her down a little. I still think Camila and Rafa will wind up together, though Rafa seems to be moving on with his new "mujer". But then nobody in this town gives themselves a cooling-off period between romances, it's just on to the next one.

Yay for "ultimas semanas". Maybe at last we're going to see some comeuppances coming up.

Karen.. Yes, that would be true. Carloca would have to be careful now. Of course, that is giving her some semblance of sanity, which may or may not be there. Also, she would need to have just the right timing. One way to look at it, Inaki is the only premeditated murder by her. With Arcadia, it was just a fortuitous situation that Arcadia was walking down the street in front of her SUV and she was able to run her down. With Macarena, she was not planning to kill her at that time. Carloca got irate and ended up pushing Mac through the window. Again, Carloca was just lucky. And with Alonso, that was more or less self preservation. It looks like he was having doubts about what he was doing, but she didn't know that so it was either him or her and him worked better for her. And, her luck continued and she happened to have a truck driving by and she took advantage of it. Lucky for her the truck driver didn't want to stick around. But.. now that I think about it. I guess the little dog and the birds were also premeditated.
We can only hope her luck runs out real soon. Hooray for Ultimas Semanas.

Thank you Jackie. From what I could see by the look on her face she seemed so upset, I thought something earth-shattering had happened. I'll hug my cat and tell her she didn't make me miss anything after all.

Debbie, great recap from the perfect title all the way to the end. A riveting read.

Sooooo glad Eugenio is finally on the case. I think he would make a good match for Camila if Rafa decided to stay with Luz.

Maybe I'm a pyromaniac, or maybe I just don't like Emiliano very much, but I thought that shot of the sketch burning was very beautiful.

Although I like Gabriel more than Emoo, he still isn't as awesome as Iñaki. Iñaki had a fundamental happiness and lightness of spirit which was very appealing. The others are so gloomy.

Paloma sure does throw around "FOREVER!" and "NEVER!" a lot. What a melodrama queen.

Thanks for the recap Debbie...I couldn't understand all that Paloma was telling Cristobal...just knew it was excessive.

daisynjay...I also cannot wait to see how Anamar's character gets under Romina's skin. I think that is why she was introduced. She has her sights on him and Romina needs a taste of her own venom. Romina has been so mean to Pal and Pal just takes it and forgives but I like a girl with some spine. Go get her Anamar!!!!

I cannot believe that little Xochi was allowed to go home with Luz and Rafa...reality check...they just broke many laws there. That social worker doesn't know what real intentions this couple has for Xochi (even though we know they are good) even a recommendation from Eugenio couldn't override child protection laws. Did they forget she kidnapped Xochi?

It looks like half the population of Unreal de Monte took stupid pills yesterday.

The smug snit from Monterrey and mopey Gabe are a bit too confident for me. The girl knows that Sir Mopesalot has a wife and a girl he claims as the love of his life and thinks she is in with a chance. As if. And Gabe the junior, terminally ill moper also knows that Paloma is dealing with a doomed love affair and has been publicly hit with two nasty shocks yet he plows ahead declaring his love. I guess he hasn't heard her repeated comments about not loving anyone and how everyone she loves dies. She does seem to attract mopers.

I too thought Paloma's overreaction was a bit much but not unexpected. Let's face it in less than a year she has been hit with shocks that would rattle a person years older. First her novio dies on the wedding day (and she still doesn't know he was poisoned by the purple one), then she discovers that her "parents' weren't they were her tios and that her tia was her real mother, followed by said mother's death (another homicide) then she is introduced to a scum bag who claims to be her father and who spews vile garbage about her mother being a slut, then the priest she thinks of as a surrogate father gets arrested for murder then cap it off with the two public revelations about the Gang of Five and her inheritance (after having grown up feeling like a charity case) and finally Cris admitting to purposing to Macarena. I'd probably have lit into him too as the final person in her life who has lied to her. Now let's see if she pays attention to what Rufi said and grows up.

I seem to remember that Cris had talked to the padres about leaving the church to be with Mac before he purposed to her.

So Doc B feels like a fool. Ya think. After all the times that Macarena told him she didn't love him. He is just like Orlando seeing only what they want to believe. He is a nice guy however and I'd like to see him go back to mexico City with Ivonne.

Actually Arcadia was a premeditated murder. The purple one got the money and agreed to meet her obviously planned to get rid of her. The woman was walking away down the road when the crazy one gunned the engine and ran her down.

Can not wait to see the screen flooded with purple when the cowardly German gets drunk enough to tell Carlotta he is off the case and she explodes. I'm thinking she will rip into him and maybe spill the beans about the baby to taunt him. Whatever happens I hope he grows a spine and tells what he knows. Don E has already figured out that Carloca has been trying to fix the results of the trial and Germs can confirm it.

Ultimate semanas usually means about 6 or so weeks so there is still plenty of time for all the revelations to come and for the witch to pay. I'm just praying that not only does she go to prison but be faced with public humiliation as well. She has alway been quick to rub other people's noses in it for their behavior and payback is due.

I like "Sir Mopesalot" as a new moniker.

Rufi could help Paloma out A LOT in processing the whole situation if she would just tell her that Cris is her father, and the whole history of the family. There is NOTHING to be gained by continuing to keep the secret. Yes, La Loca will go ballistic, but they could arrange to get away from her. Heck, send a pasted-up anonymous note denouncing her for something (so many suspicions to choose from!) and get her sent to jail.

Come on, Rufi. You have ONE job to do.

Hi, Debbie. I lurk over here on occasion and I just want to thank you for a super recap. You recappers are so dedicated and I appreciate what you do.

EJ

Excellent recap, Debbie. I enjoyed your writing very much.

Germán is just a major jerk. He kept begging and pleading to continue as Cris' abogado because of how it would look for HIS career. Perfectly OK with him if Cris and Natalia spend the rest of their lives in jail. I think a happy ending for Germs with Ro is likely off the table at this point.

I'm getting a little sick of Emoon (thanks Jeff for this one) coming home and refusing to eat Romina's dinners. He did tell her he wasn't going to sleep with her, but refusing food night after night is booooring.

I didn't find it that odd that Rafa and Luz got to take the child home. Eugenio has MAJOR clout and seems to know all judges and bureaucrats in the area. I think that in most countries, including the US, influence gets you a long way.

One thing has been driving me nuts for forever. I was certain that the night of Paloma's art exhibition either her teacher or the gallery owner (a woman) introduced Eugenio as a great artist. Maybe it was just a great art collector, since he bought Pal's paintings. Now it turns out he's a famous lawyer who never loses a case. Is he both? Or did I misunderstand what they said at the art exhibition?

Eugenio had retired from law practice and is now more into art (I haven't figured out whether he creates any himself, or just collects it and helps people make connections to promote their stuff, like he did for Rafa).

Apparently, though, he was very good at law and knows everyone, so he decided to take on this case.

Novelera,

They did say that Don E was a great artist at the exhibit. I also seem to remember him saying that he hadn't practiced law in a long time so I guess you could be both. I once met a guy in Spain who was a famous matador and he was also a brilliant artist - so anything is possible.

Maybe Emiliano isn't really moping he is just slowly starving himself to death to get away from Romina I'm taking Cooking Classes. Then again he did chow down pretty good with the Monterrey miss.

Maybe Emiliano has an eating disorder. I'll be watching for anorexia PSAs.

Decie Girl and Julia, thanks for confirming what I had heard at the exhibition. Love the idea of Emoon with anorexia!

Cooking classes my eye. That would take effort and our little priss "wasn't made to work" :)

If he eats her cooking, I'd get a food taster to sample everything first. I wouldn't trust our eveil queen in training.

I should be working but i couldn't help wondering do both the padre's know that Cris is Paloma's father or only the one? I have a vague recollection of them talking about it. It seemed to me they both looked distressed at her outburst last night.

One thing i have to add. Arturo Peniche is a great actor and you could actually feel his pain when she was screaming at him and he doesn't even know she is is daughter. Only someone with real talent can convey so much emotion with out words.

Debbie – a terrific recap with a terrific title. I always love your stuff. Thank you so much!

Elna June Sonoma – thanks for chiming in! Please comment any time.

Deciegirl – thank you for your take on why Paloma blew up at Chris. I too was taken aback and wondered what she was on about, but you suggest a very good motivation, her being on her last little raggedy nerve about lies.

I don’t think it shows Emiliano in a very favorable light when he’s constantly refusing Romina’s dinners. If somebody cooks you a meal, it’s very rude not to at least take a taste. Yeah, okay, he doesn’t love Romina, but if he’s going to be giving her polite kisses on the forehead time to time, he could at least try her food.

It’s a wonder to me that no tongues are wagging in Real del Monte about a beautiful woman living with Camila’s fiancée. You’d think the town would be abuzz about it.

I was sad to see the ultimas seminas come up, as this show is so beautifully written, acted, and photographed. It’s going to spoil me for future shows. Anybody know what’s coming up next at 7:00?

You are a lifesaver, Debbie, as I had to miss this episode. I love your title and, shucks, it seems I missed quite a bit of disorder in Unreal del Monte last night.

Oh no, Ultimas Semanas! As unreal as this quaint village and it's quirky citizenry are...yes, I blame the water...I will miss this novela. I just think the acting so terrific and have enjoyed watching Leticia Calderon completely embody the Evil Purple One. If the sound quality would improve in the ultimas semanas, I would be beyond grateful.

GinCA

Oh, and to add to Paloma's list of woes in the last year, her childhood and supposedly best friend has turned on her. Pal had to relinquish her love Mooney to Romina for the sake of the oversized premie. And Romina with her fantasy happy family loves to grind that into Pal's face whenever she can.

GinCA

Maggie, you expressed what I was feeling about Emiliano's refusal to eat the dinners Ro prepares better than I did. That is exactly what I meant.

Decie girl.. The way I saw it, Carloca did not go to meet Arcadia with a plan to actually kill Arcadia (granted, she probably had an "I sure want to get rid of her" mindset). Carloca was really POed that she had to pay Arcadia money to shut her up. She was steaming, then looked up and saw Arcadia walking down the road and then the light bulb came on. Wow, I got this big SUV, I think I'll run her down. So, to me, that was not premeditated, more a spur of the moment decision. :)

Debbie thanks for a great and funny recap and for putting up the comment section for tonight's episode.

German is more concerned about this will affect his career than Cris and Natalie going to prison for life.

What water are these people drinking?

I too hope Anamar gives PoMEna a taste of her own nasty medicine and what a cold cold bed she has made for herself to lie in. Yes it is rude how Emoon great nickname Jeff keeps refusing to barely even eat with her.I guess it's to show us how he really can't tolerate her presence at all. He knows how much she has lied and manipulated him and Paloma. So i'll cut him some slack on that.

Padre Benito knows who Paloma's dad is because Carloca confessed to him. Padre Mateo knows that Carloca is lying to Paloma about who her real father is.

The source who knows all is Rufi he watches while Paloma suffers instead of just telling her the truth.

ITA about Rafael and Luz taking the little girl. Last night episode was a good one though.

Maggie:
I also lament the coming end of ENDA. I share your feelings about this Novela: "Beautifully written, acted & photographed" I would only add that the music is beautiful too. I know many have complained about it being too loud, but that must be a cable Co problem, becuse It is just right here on DirecTV. Thanks for all the great recaps. I am taking 2 Spanish classes this semester and I am getting lots more of the conversation with help of the captions.

Frank in IL

Frank, you must have very keen hearing. I watch the novelas on DirecTV, and I also think the music drowns out the conversations. I know this is because I'm not a native speaker and that, if the music were at the same volume with an English program, it would be fine. Also, some actors speak more clearly than others. When you combine a person who doesn't enunciate that well with throbbing violins or whatever they're playing, sometimes it's hard to get it.

Remember, Romen's idea of cooking dinner is buying takeout and then taking it home and presenting it on the dinner table. And then, lie and say she made it herself.

Romina told Emiliano that she's taking cooking lessons... but that she starts tomorrow. Yeah. Tomorrow never comes. For Emiliano to refuse her meals is nothing compared to what she's doing to him.
