Gancho # 155 - Jan. 27 - All's not fair in war, especially if you are a dumb Big BUG!!!
Mau tries to convince the judge. Well he's divorced now, but ain't got a pot to you know what in.
Coni spews some more venom on the way out. you know I hate to say it, but in a sad pathetic way our big bug got what he deserved. He never should have married in the first place no matter what crap she threw at him.
Beto continues to whine about his situation with the lack of Betito. It is nice seeing these folks behaving more or less maturely between themselves.
We briefly flash for some reason to kids looking concerned.
After that we see Senor Juez is in the hands of our Mystery Hombre Papa Marcos. Asi es la vida. Que pena.
Yeah Rolu and Xime!!!
She's doing an experiment. She calls for Arni, he quips back Arnoldo. She begs him to come, cunis. he's getting ready for his "date" with Lalo. She wants to make sure he makes himself beautiful, he doesn't know why he agreed to go. He arranges all of the table things. he goes back up and she unarranges them then calls him back down. Of course when he comes back he rearranges all of the things AGAIN. She thinks it will be super easy for him to be "conquered" by Lalo. Hmm...ok, don't arrange things because you might be gay then....
Mau and Con argue about the crap.
Rolu now wants to experiment with Xime. He asks her to close her eyes.
More crap with Mau....how could you do this...blah blah blah... he leaves telling her she doesn't deserve Beto or anyone else's love. Ouch. She tears.
Xime corrects Arni that his wardrobe is "out" of fashion in English. Arn thinks ok, great then he won't go out. Xime wants to help him and Rolu agrees he should. She pulls his sweater off, tie off, and unbuttons his shirt somewhat. She gives him her white leather jacket. But, there is one final touch (feminine that is)....the pink boa. She wants to lower his pants even. She comments he needs to show off his pompis, and if he has none, then do pilates!
Mau now breaks it to the kids who were consoling Beto that they have to stay with Momia. Uh oh.
Back to the drag dress up, Xime thinks he needs dark designer glasses, when she goes off to find them, Arni tells Rolu this time he's gone too far, everything is pinky flowery (in English). He begs Arni to do him this favor to win over Lalo's confidence. Of course he's still not gay. He looks damn good in the pink boa and white heart sunglasses though.
Lalu shows up and he agrees that Arne looooks maahhhvelous!! he's there to rip him out of the closet.
Coni is chatting with Papi dearest telling how she got it all. He smiles for her, but reveals nothing. She tells Papi that they still have to get the shares of Xime the wife of Rolando Klunder, in order to own it all, they can get Jero's easily apparently.
The kids are now crying, no, not the Momia!! Mau promises to do all in his power to make this not happen. Hmmm, and he didn't do this before why????? Oh Mau, it will take a while for you to convince us you have a pair....
This was great. Beto still whining to Mona, and a light bulb goes off for her. Momia is not preggers. Me thinks me knows where this one will go...
She leaves Beto to cry, and Mau sees him and extends an arm...he nudges over Dani and wedges his way into the group hug. Tooo cute.
Yep I was right...we see Momia in an office and Mona rushing in and slamming the door behind her. We are left to wonder as we move to another office.
We learn Oscar and Marcos are also in cahoots. Oscar is there to sell Jero's shares, he's been given the power of attorney to do so. I so want to tell this scene ala Hombre with Oscar's viewpoint....ok I will only a little. He's smirking to himself, ha that tarado Jero I have him wrapped around my little finger. Oh and not to worry about his sister the stupida who also owns 10percent, she won't stand in our way. What? You are raising an eyebrow at me that you don't quite believe it? Hmmm.
OK.. so now we see that Mona is there to beat the living shite out of our vaca eyed (thanks Elna June) Coni.
Mau whines about how he failed his kids. Don't console him kids, he did fail. Wimp. Uh oh, Jacqui is there, she takes the kids home. They love him.
The boys Mau and Beto bond over their misfortune of having sucked up the venom of such a slithery snake as Coni.
Mona yells at Coni and they decide to fight for the vecinidad. Ooohh now this will be interesting. She says she wants a month to get ready, Mona says you can have three, and Coni says eh, two will be fine. So we'll have to wait until March maybe. Sorry guys.
More tough girl talk.
M&M talk about what happened. Again with the failure talk. That's enough already...and whoops there goes my recording, I think my clock was afew minutes ahead, so that's where my show stops. Anyone else want to add? Please do, and thanks until next time.

So glad you put in the picture of Arnoldo in his pink boa and shades. Now that Diana can't watch this, the picture are so much more important.
Can't remember if this was in the episode or the prviews, but Gabriela calls Mauricio from Venzuela and sobs that Salvador has been killed in a plane accident. We know Oscar "arranged" for her to be told that, but we still don't know Salvador's actual fate.
Thanks amiga, as you noted...our Bug needs to grow a pair...and I'm not talkin' wings!
Most distressing that Mau has lost everything, especially the children but I have to agree that he got his just desserts. Judy, your insightful comment on what the future portends for Mau and Moni's future was spot on.
Enjoyed the "tough girl talk" and am looking forward to the rumble.
Poor Gabi. Sorry to hear that she's suffering and hope the reports of Sal's demise have been greatly exaggerated.
Diana
I thought the scene where Beto gently prodded Dani aside so he could join in the group hug was hilarious. Mau has better chemistry with Beto than he does anyone else, I like it when those two are on the same side.
Wow, Mau is a big DUMB BUG. With all the stupid decisions he makes is he really equipped to raise three kids? He's always been taken care of, Tere at home, Sal at work, Tano at the track. Left to his own devices he doesn't do so well. I'm not worried about the kids though because they can take care of him...if only they can get out of Coni's clutches.
Thanks Kris, excellent recap of another exciting episode!
Are all the judges in Mexico for sale? This has been a recurrig theme in TNs over the years. During the early part of this episode and the end of the day's before, I thought,"Well, t least it's not that same crooked judge presiding." Nopi, it was a new crooked judge.
I know that right now she's not very popular here, but poor Coni almost seemed the worst off of the group. She looked devastated when Beto told her that he's completely through with. All the other characters find solace in one another, but with the exception of her dad, she is all alone like a selfish child surrounded by an abundance of toys, but with none of the other children wanting to play with him.
Ximena the scientific investigator, who knew. She continues to amaze. That scene certainly was smile inducing. I may be reading more into it than was intended, but when Rolu placed the cocktail glass into her hand (the daqui without the daqui as she put it), She told him that he needs to work on his magic. I saw a glimmer of hope for Rolu to hang on to her. Maybe if he does work on his magic, he'll have a chance to capture her heart once more.
I still have my doubts about the fight between Coni and Moni. Here as well I may be seeing more than is there, but Coni knows as well as we do that Moni is far and away the superior boxer and that she is going to lose. It's a chance for her to undo some of the harm she's done without showing weakness and vulnerability. Growing up in my 'hood, we usually settled differences in this way and almost always the result was an ultimately strong bond between the combatants. Moni and Coni as best buds? Don't be too surprised if it happens.
Carlos
I will say that if she and Moni were ever to find themselves bonding and on the same side they would be an incredible force of nature.
Thank you also Hombre, Carlos and Judy for your recaps. They were all so witty and brilliant as you all are. We are sliding into another dark phase of the novela so I'll be dependent on the recaps as I can't bear to watch suffering. Though Carlos, my dear, Coni's tears to me are crocodile. For your sake I hope she changes but she's like Maura from Sorti (obsessed and doesn't care about the consequences). And she does need some form of punishment for all the harm she has caused especially for her treatment of the kids.
Judy your prediction of M&M's future was funny. It's sad that Mau is so dumb.
I hope Sal comes back b/c my reaction to anything else is similar to Sylvia (fingers in ears and screaming no, no, no).
Carlos
Although it's true that she hasn't killed anyone (yet), I think it's safe to say she's decimated everyone in her orbit. While Mau bears some of the responsibility for his allowing her manipulation, the children in particular are the innocent victims here and they are the ones that coninue to be hurt most of all. If her own mother isn't on Coni's side (most of the time), how could anyone else be?
Diana
Thanks for the succinct recap and I too loved the title. The Gancho crowd really has to ability to keep the funny images rolling along day after day.
That was a terrible divorce settlement. I'm reminded of the old country song by Jerry Reed, "She got the goldmine, I got the shaft."! Slick doings by Marcus.
Speaking of songs, I'm also reminded of Toby Keith's "I wish I didn't know now what I didn't know then".....knowing that Beto stinks, makes me squirm in all of his scenes. Maybe I misunderstood that part in my catch up sessions.
Speaking of Coni as being all alone with no one to play with...Carlos, would you have a suggestion for a playmate?
Daddy seems to be a likable but dangerous scoundrel who relies on money and force to cope.(Actually not the worst resources for survival in this world.)
Sylvia, is Burbujas de Amor a brand-new song? I've gottn three of his albums from the library (2 good, 1 not) but that song isn't on any of them. Will have to be on the lookout for it. His creations are so wonderfully danceable...you can't stay in your seat when they're on!
Thanks so much for your recap. It was really good.
Carlos. will you be my friend? Your loyalty to your dear ones in remarkable—of course I am thinking of your girlfriend Gardenia as well as Coni.
Connie is certainly narcissistic, but there is some self-destructiveness there as well (maybe she is also a little depressed?). She ended up with what she didn't really want, and none of her plotting brought her what she really needs. She cannot, in her current state, be a good mother to the kids and getting Mau's money is only meaningful to her in how it disadvantages/punishes him. Unfortunately, her inability to self-observe does not lead me to be optimistic about her having a bright epiphany while sitting in the midst of all her toys.
I hope, with Carlos, that a few strong bops up-side the head from Moni will do the trick. Some of us need strong medicine.
In the meanwhile I think she will suffer quite a lot in splendid isolation.
And I will continue with the unsolicited advice for our dear Gancho characters; Mau, BugBoy, Buddy—living life as beautiful, dumb and ineffective is not a good success strategy. In order to be balanced you must at LEAST as courage to your mix. Even if you are not so bright, think about the children. Borrow some of Moni's brainpower and never-say-die attitude while you are destitute.
EJ, off to work...
One other thing that happened near the end is that Connie told Beto that she really was pregnant with his baby, but she had an accident, and had lost the baby. She was really turning on the (crocodile?) tears at that point, asked him to hug her for support. He almost did, but decided better of it, and told her it was over between them.
Connie told Mau that besides the money, revenge was a big motivation for her. She wanted him to hurt as much as he hurt her by dumping her for Moni. In this desire for revenge, she's like her father Marcos, who is so mad at Jacqui that he's apparently had her four later husbands killed!
As for Coni fighting Moni in a boxing match, remember that Mauricio had zero experience as a wrestler, and after about 2 months of training, he was better than Beto. Then the two of them beat some supposedly good wrestlers. Yes, I know, Moni is the "world champion", but I wouldn't be surprised if Coni ends up good, too (a boxer, that is). Also, she has the height and reach advantage. I can't wait to see her in a boxeadora outfit.
So Coni has 45% of Grupo Sermeño, Marcos has 45%, and Xime has 10%. I don't see why they even care about Xime's share. As for Jero, shouldn't he get half the money from the shares Oscar sold under the power of attorney? So at least he'd have money. There's probably some way Oscar's going to cheat him out of it, though.
Sorry I was indeed a bit harsh on our galan last night, but you know, I can't buy into this feel sad for the lead just because he's teh lead and things are supposed to go his way. He's a big DUMB BUG!!!!And that bugs!!!
It will be fun watching him get out of this though...and Capn very astute that he has been taken care fo everywhere...maybe that will be the key. As soon as he learns to do for himself, all will be undone.
Let's hope!!! Good morning everyone!!
Your fantastic recaps have kept me in the loop though, and I am reading the comments each day, even if not able to contribute. Comcast comes Saturday to set up the dvr (I mistakenly thought I could do it myself last week).
I wouldn't underestimate Connie in the ring. She'll do anything to win, including cheat, and she's good at that!
I sat wondering again why Mau married Coni. Now he's left penniless and more importantly he's put the kids in a very bad situation with la momia. I know these things work themselves out (usually), but he is sooo thick headed.
It seems like Rolu's transformation to Xime worship is complete. He's such a different man from before. I like how they keep showing him with his shirt open so we can see the tattoo on his chest. I wonder when we can expect the next tatuaje.

As for screenshots, there are several ways. I don't know how Kris does it, but I either download the file from some websites that have the episodes, then play it in my video player, pause at the right place, and capture that frame and paste it into Paint; or I burn a dvd with several episodes I recorded and again play it in my computer, capturing the good scenes.
The part about doing anything for the kids is true, though.
Arni looked really good after Xime's makeover. Well, until the fluffy pink thing was added.
No, Hombre, it was this show that had the wedding interrupted by the phone call. It was a long time ago, though.
But it does do justice to Coni. In fact, I may start referring to her as "Porni" since she is utterly without redeeming social, artistic or political value.
And Sandy, the lawyers in prison are only the ones who got caught. Perhaps Oscar should stay out of Tennessee in any event.
Mike, I'm getting the impression that you are beginning to sour on Coni.
Vivi, Coni might cheat in a boxing match? I'm shocked.
Diana, Vaca eyes? Cute.
Karen, the agony on that pretty face and you saw crocodile tears?
Elna June, see why Coni needs a friend? Heck, even Beto has abandoned her at the lowest point in her tragic life.
I'm sensing an undercurrent of occult negativity directed at Coni here. Let me meekly point out once more, she hasn't killed anyone... yet.
Carlos
Elna Juna I agree with you on Coni's self-destructive tendencies. I've always felt that way about her.
Carlos: I do think Coni loved Mau at the begining of this novela and I don't think she was all unpleasant as a girlfriend since they were together for two years. Plus, looking at this from her point of view: Mau decided to adopt the kids without telling her he had been considering it and then started fancing Moni while they were still together and made every excuse to be with our monkey and then, he finally dumped her, well that was hard. Mau definitely didn't hadled that well (as usual) and I think it is something that could hurt anyone in both their heart and pride.
However now Coni has gone too far, she was dead set in getting Mau, even when she didn't love him anymore, and now that she only cares about her revenge she lost Beto, the man she has fallen madlessly in love. Right now, Coni's unhappiness and Mau's, Beto's and the kids rest on her shoulders, because she didn't know when to quit.
I do find your theory of the Moni Vs Coni fight as a way to give in without actually saying it. We'll see how things go.
It's funny, but I think Coni is the most talked about character in this novela. Or at least the one everyone keeps trying to analize so at least she is interesting.
Jarocha
You know let's talk about Xime...she is my favorite and deserves way more key stroke time than Coni.
Go XIME!!!!!!
Carlos
