Sortilegio 2/2 - now Vic has three admirers. And MJ gets more pills to take.

Folks, I have gotten mighty tired of the bellowing baritones belting out our theme song.

We review MJ's testy few minutes at the restaurant and Alex's ham-fisted, bungling, overbearing attempts to get her to remember him.

She yells that step-daddy Jorge SAVED her and how terrible that she's been torn from the bosom of her loving family!

Poor MJ. First marrying Bruno-the-faux-Alejandro, then having to fake it with the real Alejandro, getting thrown out of the house pregnant, then slapped around, kicked when she was pregnant, stolen and drugged etc., it's no wonder she's testy.

Lisette and her new chemo buddy bond at the clinic.

Gabriel tells Paula how successful his exhibit was: one sale of a sculpture netted as much as three months of his usual work. Soon he'll be able to buy a car! Paula says when he gets his car they can go out and celebrate. Oh, ye material girl.

Doc Hernan talks about studies, treatments, a brain scan to figure out how to help MJ. Maybe they should force Jorge to help cure her, threatening him with the closing of his clinic. [But then, what would happen to those stacks of zombies he's got in there?]

Bruno and Elena arrive at Casa Lombardo and MJ, delighted, flies into Bruno's arms: "Thank goodness you've come, get me out of here!"

Luckily, Vic and Alex rush up in time, and therefore Elena is forced to make nice and get introduced to everybody.

The servants regurge the whole current plot tangle.

Sitting in the living room like civilized people, everybody struggles to have a conversation. It's tense.

Alex asks about Bruno's supposed business in Toluca which turned out to be bogus. Bruno says he was an innocent dupe. Alex asks why he used his middle name, Bruno says it was because he didn't want Alex to find him and ruin everything as he always does.

Elena presents her story (that MJ is actually Sandra, saved by Jorge, newly awoken from a drug-overdose coma) several times. Vic and Alex present their side several times. Elena says it was Ulises who found Sandra in a hospital and spirited her away to be saved by Jorge.

Alex and Doc bring up the scar! Bruno's comeback: "Sandra could have been wounded in the same place." Doc: "A gynecological exam will prove she's a mother."

MJ doesn't want any of this. She pounds on Alex, says she hates him, and runs upstairs.

So then, a satisfying fist-fight and roll on the floor, Bruno and Alex yelling "I'll kill you!" "No, me, I'LL kill YOU!" etc. The captions read: "Blows and complaints." Elena and Vic agree at last: they both yell "Enough already!"

Elena tells her story again and says she'll call the police if she doesn't get the girl back. Alex: "Go ahead and call them, but she's my wife and mother of my son and she leaves here over my dead body."

Bruno and Elena give up and leave, very very grumpy. They phone Jorge and give him the bad news. He's grumpy too and says, predictably, that Bruno is an idiot, "You should have warned us about the scar." And Elena was an idiot too, to say she'd call the police. "That doctor can prove it's MJ and then you can kiss the $$$$ goodbye." Bruno whines: "She likes me better, and anyway, she and Alex are divorced."

Bruno goes to Maura's house. His brilliant plan: they'll all keep saying MJ is Sandra till the last possible second. Ulises will back them up, he's been in it for the money all along. "Whoah, I thought you said Ulises was dead!" "No, he's just resting. [No, actually "in a coma."] We'll wake him up, use him, and then send him to jail."

Intermission
"He's just resting!"

Jorge and an assistant hover over Ulises, who's coming back to life, but it will take a few days, and he's kind of weak. If he doesn't revive fully, they can always glue his feet to the floor (see video)...

The good guys have a final living-room pow wow prior to Uncle Emiliano's departure, yes, he is going back home, he has to talk to gramps - but first, he kneels to Vic and says she's beautiful, sexy, smart... Fer and the Doc glare furiously as Emiliano kisses Vic's hand...

Roberto is in a hotel in Merida, getting ready to move into his new house. He felt awkward in the big house with Raquel around. Paula says she's sad in the big house too, so she's staying with Pedro the Pitiful. Roberto is anguishing about Vicky Jr. Paula says of course he should get her.

He says again, "you don't know what I've done..." and ends up telling her about his "experimentation" and about being bisexual - Paula looks queasy... she asks if he's "still that way."

He says honesty is the most important thing, and that if he's ever in a relationship again he will be completely himself, hiding nothing. Paula says she accepts him and that he'll find a woman - he's so sexy and tender - and Paula likes him the way he is... she cries...

Good ol' Roberto. "Paula, I don't want to hurt you... I love you too, but in a different way... Are we still friends?" Paula says yes.

Next day, MJ wakes up (still in her dress from the restaurant) and there, in her face yet again, is Alex. He makes headway this time! She softens as he says he's desperate, he loves her... he cries... "You can't have forgotten our kisses..." [I personally think he should have shaved...] but anyway they kiss and MJ likes it plenty. Then she backtracks: "I am confused. I was promiscuous, so I'd probably like kissing any man. My mother wouldn't lie to me..."

Alex mentions her dad. She's astounded: "You know my father?" "Of course. He's a simple man with a good heart." Again the donkey to the wheat: "Do you really feel nothing when I embrace you? Look me in the eyes! I love you, don't you feel it?" [Oh, so this is the spell (sortilegio) of the novela's title - the spell MJ is under, which must be broken.]

After a brief bad-guy scene in which, again, Bruno was stupid not to remember the scar... and what good will Ulises be... and they can't denounce the Lombardo's since there is proof ...

... back to Alex and MJ. She looks much more tender, but asks woefully: "What if I'm not what you think I am?" He reassures her that she is.

Fer and his uncle fear the news about faux-Sandra would kill the grandfather.

Raquel regurges plot with Maura and Katia. Raquel is electrified to hear Ulises is back in the picture. Where is he? "Hidden." [Resting.]

It's another day. Roberto decorates his new home. Paula calls, asks if he's lonely. "Better alone than in bad company." (Meaning Raquel.) He tells Paula she should start going out. "You can count on my friendship, but I want you to find someone to make you happy."

[Commercial: girls playing American football in bikinis? ¡Qué colmo!]

Alex is finally going to go to work - he figures, correctly, that he shouldn't hang around bugging MJ all the time. Vic is upset, it's hard to wait, she wants Tony to get baptised and there's the wedding...

Doc shows up with pills for MJ, pills to treat her memory loss - "One pill a day, without fail, don't interrupt the treatment for anything!" he warns portentously. [Are you as uncomfortable as I am to see that "our" team drugs MJ as much as Jorge did? How many nights has she been drugged to sleep here?]

So Alex goes back upstairs; he's glad to see MJ is eating her breakfast. He flirtatiously drinks some of her juice. Then he tells her: "You need a brain scan, and also these pills." She predictably doesn't want either.

She asks, "Is it true we're divorced?" and when he says yes, she flies into another rage and decides he's been doing it all for money. He despairs: "we can't exchange two words without a fight," then tells her about her knife wound and how Bruno would only donate blood in exchange for the divorce and the presidency.

Finally, he asks her to go see Tony, who needs his mother. "He's an innocent baby, none of these intrigues are his fault!"

Wow,how did you get this up so fast and in great detail. I bow to you...:)
Okay, can I say that we just need to get MJ out of her "I'm a druggie, but maybe I love you, no I dont', ..." SPELL. We've got how many days left? There's some major heads to crack, villians to punish and love connections to finish off plot lines to wrap up (some of which I'm not thrilled about.)

Loved the smackdown. Those guys must have had a ball filming that. I was waiting for someone's tight pants to explode, but no such luck. Hate to admit that I had hoped Alex's big crying scene later and that KISS would just be the ticket to wake Sleeping Beauty, but not the progress we had hoped for
.
But at least Bruno's been exposed for the continuing scumbag he is, Elena/Jorge's plan is pretty much up in smoke and Emiliano is on his way home to let Gramps in on the fraud. Now THAT should be good.

Roberto has really checked into good-guyville. Too bad for Paula though. I guess the powers that be are really moving her towards Gabe.Ick! Just don't see it, but whatever.

The scene with Maura, Katia and Raquel was too much skankdom all at once. My eyes began to hurt. Hysterical they were drinking coffee!!

So, MJ should take her pill, go hug little Tony and have a miraculous flash of who she is. Her bambino will break the spell. we canonly hope.

Stupid groundhog saw his shadow today. I'm so done with this Ohio winter. I may head to Merida myself.

Horrible, tense episode. But at least there was snark to be had in the recap :) The MP reference is classic. Yeah, that's our Ulises. Mr. 5ft wonders if he'll get himself completely awake and out of there before Jorge can bribe him.

MJ might as well just refuse any and all treatment at this point--it's supposed to wear off anyway.

Thanks for the great and fast recap. Still up in anticipation of a snow day tomorrow! I get to sleep in. :)

The look an Alex's face when Bruno was spinning his story was priceless! Lol! Like, I cannot believe you have the nerve to spew this crap and that I have to stand here and listen to it.

It looks like MJ is softening. Although the effects of the memory erasing drugs are supposed to go away after awhile, I think the new drugs are to lessen the harsh effects of the withdrawal- to get it out of her system gradually. At least that's what I understood. Otherwise, she will continue to be aggitated and unbalanced. Hopefully she will take the pills and start spending some time with Tony. Alex getting out of her face every second will also be helpful.

Thanks for another fast recap.

Vivi ITA about the look on Alex's face, did you also pick up how when ever Bruno starts spinning his lies his eyes start shifting all over the place.

Elena has some cojones first she kept insisting it was Sandra that Alex took then when each lie of her and Bruno got exposed she threaten to call the cops?

Love how Dr.Demented called her and Bruno both idiots, they should have used their time to come up with a plausible story for Porfirio.

Now they are trying to put all of the blame on Useless, and Bruno told her if that plan falls through he's leaving her and Jorge high and dry to take all the blame.

He really needs to be locked up for his crazy Wily E. Coyote schemes.

Somehow i'm disastified i wanted him to have more of a beat down from Alex for the hell he put him through.

CHF. Thank you for the recap. The Monty Python bit was a much needed break in a dark and violent episode.

Wow. I really hated this episode. And seriously, yesterday I made a crack about Alex keeping SaMJ safe from confusing stimuli. But one day in that madhouse would drive a sane person to distraction. A person in the midst of her situation should be at a lovely beach side cottage away from the fray.
One would never want to subject a fragile person to the fights, arguing and beat downs and put downs that occur daily in Casa Lombardo.

Did anybody else catch SaMJ grabbing for the front of her dumb sundress as the fighting started.Would somebody give the girl some straps.

The scene with Emiliano taking leave of Victoria—with Hernan and Fernando in the background glowering at one another like jealous dogs was my favorite of the evening.

Poor Paula. Roberto let her down easy. Gabriel is going to have to sell a lot of statues to keep her in coches. I am sorry, but Gabriel is a dweeb. My spunky Paula can do better.

Wow, very fast and great! Thanks, Melinama. :)

Thank God MJ calmed down. There was so much tension between them. It was killing me. It's still kinda awkward though.

Bruno and Elena are retarded. Thought they'd come into the house, take MJ, and live happily ever after? Yeh ok... There would be lots of investigations.

Short on time. Need to finish hw. Chat with ya'll tomorrow.

Liar doesn't even begin to describe hEll-ena. what a conniving _itch!! how can she spin such crap with a straight face? the audacity!!! i wanted to punch her; or maybe Ale should've done so.

I havent been checking in this past week, but wondering if anyone knows when sortilegio ends and salvaje begins. I need some warning.

MrsImgallego Elena doesn't see anything wrong with the way she has used and manipulated both of her twins.Needless to say she can lie like that and not even bat a eye.

While Bruno's eye contact was all over the place both performances was hilarious.

Cielo de Levy let's not insult our mentally challenged people's intelligence by comparing them to Bruno and Elena.

As they say these two have the unmitigated gall to waltz into Casa Lombardo without wearing their B.S. waders was the height of stupidity on both of their parts.

Elna June i thought the Emiliano scene with Hernan and Ferdumbo being jealous was cute also.

It's official Dr. Hernan beats JM anyday to come up with a counter active pill for the drugs the three stooges were giving Mj without having to away and study for six months.

Where can i find a Dr. like him who is ajack of all trades.

great speed on the recap...as I watched the whole thing and barely understood a word..but could tell exactly what was happening.....rushed to my computer to confirm what I had just seen..........and yes the victoria and her men friends that was the best......but I would still stick to fernando !...Just waiting for the passion of alex and maria jose to be real again...maybe tomorrow.

Thanks again CHF and Cara someone mentioned Febuary the 15 surely you're staying around to watch 50 year old Eduardo Yanez prance around like he's a pirate and late twenty something.

I thought it was classic coldhearted Elena when her voice hardly cracked as Hernan told her that Sandra is dead.

Really enjoyed the surprised look on Tio when Hernan and Fer guarded Vicky hahaha!

Anyone, when is Sorti going to end? Like Cielo on yesterday's post, I'm not looking forward to it but at least I need a warning.

I really don't think Elena nor Bruno realize that the lies they were spinning for the inhabitants of Casa Lombardo how they were exposing themselves to MJ who they both kept insisting was Sandra.

Roberto was gentle in letting Paula down and telling her to find someone else. Although Paula sems a little put off by Roberto's sexual activities that certainly didn't deterred her from wanting him still.

Let's hope Emiliano makes it back before the jackal Elena does and talks to Porifiro before Dr.Demented and Elena do.

thanks for the quickie recap. . cheers for roberto for standing up for his gender preference. Maybe that will stop some of the viewers suggesting that he find some nice girl to raise the baby with. Hello?? DId you hear him?

Best scene: Victoria's three admirers. Nicely directed, acted and shot.

Will MJ take the pills? And why are they just leaving the pills with her, and nobody supervising . . .

Just wanted to check in before I go to bed.

Anon, you're right. Retarded is the wrong word. I've been meaning to throw it out of my vocabulary for over a year now because I realize it can be offensive, but it always slips. Elena and Bruno are idiotic. I'm gonna keep saying it to myself until the word idiotic replaces retarded completely because I reallly don't want to insult anyone...anyways that's a note to myself. Anon, good one about the waltzing is really what I wanted to tell you. :) and though Hernan is a great doctor, I think I'd pick JM over him for his determination to help (and his beauty of course).

Lol, Mrs. Imgallego, I don't think Alex would ever punch a woman. That's something Bruno would do.

To those asking when Sortilegio ends, I think when I checked last time it was February 16, but I'm not 100% sure. Should be pretty close to that though.

This time, good night for reals. Hasta mañana all.

I loved the action tonite! Lots of fighting. Too bad no broken furnitures.

It is really so simple to prove to Maria Jose that she is not Sandra. Do a genetic test,Compare the fingerprints,do a gynecological exam, the teltale scar. I'm sure they have fingerprint records in Mexico like the rest of the world. A litle bit of CSI forensics will do the trick. Tsk,tsk, tsk. Add to that the Dental records. And Sandra being cremated is no excuse. They have her records.

The viewers still want Roberto to find a girl to raise the kid with. It's still a heterosexual world. Bah. Mexico is not ready for same sex marriage or alternative parenting with homosexuals or bisexuals.

William Yanez Colunga

Too much political correctness. Next, you will be offending the idiots.

There are 11 hours of Sortilegio left. So, if they show one hour for the rest of the run, then it will end on Feb 17th. If they show more than one hour for the final, then it will end sooner.

Hi Melinama. Loved the straight shootin' recap and the Monty Python video. Will have to remember "joined the choir invisible". Great line.

Also, have to admit, the other day I was thinking if I NEVER hear that figgin' theme song again, nor look at those histrionic singers in their tuxes, it will be a great future.

Thanks, CH(ie)F. Gee, SMJ has only 2 guys madly in love with her, but Vicky has 3 suitors. Whatawoman. I thought that the fight was greaaattt. Does that make me a bad person ? I hope no one really got hurt because it looked pretty rough and real to me. I got a kick out of Fer who seemed to alternate between trying to break up the two wrestlers and tagteaming Bruno with Al. I used to hate to watch Hub wrestle. It's very personal. I usually tried to help from the bleachers. Well, we got a bit of snow last night , so we have 2hour school delays. More snow predicted here for Friday night. I am sick and tired of winter. Well, I'm off to work.

Thank you so much for the extra fast recap. I was dying to know what was said in a couple of the scenes. also, no one mentined yet, but didn't fernando push tio, in an effort to rush him. I saw his body move as tho he was given a hasty shove, as he turned to leave? Can someone tell me what the name of the theme song is and who the actual singers are.

My favorite line from the comments :''Maybe tomorrow.'' Thanks bluejeanblond...That's going to be my new mantra. Love your moniker.

Thanks for the recap Melinama. Superb as always. The scene with Victoria and the 3 stooges was my favorite. I kept waiting for one or all of them to lift their leg and mark her already! Geez!

I feel for MJ but really the anger and crying is getting on my nerves. But in her defense I'd be getting sick and tired of someone sticking me with a needle or shoving pills in my face. I hope we don't have to see that butt-ugly dress again tonight.

I'm a big Monty Python fan so the video was a blast from the past for sure!

The fight was just so darn funny. Three grown men rolling around on the floor.... :-P

Yes, the Tio,Hernan, Fer scene with Vicky was cute and hilarious! Fer gave both Tio and Hernan a gentle push out the door. Nothing nasty, but staking his rightful claim on his woman. :)

Now I understand why they had MJ wear that dress with no straps. To make it easy for Alex to nearly rip it off as he pulled it down to reveal the scar low on her back. Dude, not nice and in front of a huge group of people too. He nearly revealed her boobs! That would have ticked me off.

I think by trusting MJ to take the pills on her own, it shows that they are different than Elena and Jorge who kept her on a short leash. Another way to gain her trust. Although Hernan is fantastic, I don't think he is the one who came up with the antidote or the one who gave Lisette her chemo. He runs the fancy, high class hospital that the Lombardos and the other rich people go to, and supervises all the other docs with specialties. It was his people in his lab that came up with the antidote. But what a fantastic family doc to have- one with so much pull and so many connections.

As for the tests to prove she's MJ, identical twins have identical dna, right? Not sure MJ (in her humble origins) has been to a dentist, and why would she have fingerprints if she's never been arrested, and doesn't have a passport or license?

Connie- The crying and anger are getting to Alex too. He could barely keep it together yesterday each time he spoke to MJ. Hopefully, today they'll finally make some headway with her.

CHF:

Thanks for the quick, quick recap. What was with the bikini football anyway..too funny!

Clarification on Roberto. First, honesty is hard, we've all had to gulp a few times as we've fessed up to a something we're not proud of. His honesty was a rarity for a novela or life in general. I'm confused as to what he really said though. I took him as saying that in the past, he had been bored with regular relationships and had gone into other things, bisexuality, the emphasis being on the PAST. I also heard him to say that in the future he will always be honest. I thought he was saying that Paula was to young and sweet for a guy like him. Going forward is he straight, gay or bi, or a combination of all of them?

Thanks for the recap, Melinama. Great family brawl, I loved the men hovering over Vicki, and the 'look' Hernan gave to Emilio, Ale in the background reminding me of Snoopy doing his vulture-in-the-tree schtick.

Bruno's pants fit well last night. Thank goodness.

Vivi in DC - I have the same theory that you do, on them trusting MJ to take the pills, on her own. Nothing force-fed like at Jorge's & Elena's.

Elena. What a piece of work. Unbelievable.

Can't wait for MJ's next hairstyle. I'm ready to leave this chapter in her life.

Oh, forgot to mention,,,, how all of Uli's beard grew out and his bleached locks, yet Fer & Ale never grew beards on Castaway Island, and Fer's roots never got longer.

Katia doesn't yet know that Bruno plans to marry 'Sandra', does she?

Sandy, I think Roberto just wants to be able to do what he wants to do, as long as he's honest about it. He doesn't have to answer to anybody now, he has his own job and his own life (or will, hopefully).

Bruno is a great, great villain. I love his tense, brittle energy and his shifty eyes and his crafty, whiny approach to communication. Then, so we can hate him freely, he kicks a pregnant woman.

No Katia doesn't know about Bruno's plans to marry Sandra. And I think that's what the sex tape is for, so when she decides to spill the beans, Maura and Co. will blackmail her with it to shut her up. I still don't understand how reviving Useless figures in all of this.

Lola

They're reviving Useless to take the fall for the kidnapping. Not sure how exactly they're going to do it, but that seems to be the next plan.

The theme song's full title is "Sortilegio Di Amor" by Il Divo. (Long time lurker, first time commenter. Mucho gracias for the recaps!)

I'm with you Melinama, if I never have to hear that theme song again I will be ecstatic!

The final show is usually 2 hours long. Except for MEPS which was 3 or 4 hours. I remember we split it up into parts for the recaps.

Has anybody else noticed how Bruno stands behind Vicky when he is arguing with Alex. Then he gets that little kid look and I keep expecting him to say "nanny nanny boo boo" and stick his tongue out. And then when he's lying he acts like the guy that always said, "Yeah, that's the ticket..." on Saturday Night Live.

I thought I read somewhere, and forgive me for not remembering exactly where, that Sorti ends on Feb. 15. That would have to make a multi-hour finale.

Not looking forward to Corazon, but might tune in to early episodes to see if it's totally unbearable or at least good for a "hoot" at 9 each night.

Anon, lol yeh way too much PC.

William, seriously, I think there's probably so much evidence to prove MJ is MJ. Sandra is her identical twin, but they have enough of MJ's hospital records and files to show who she is, I think.

Doris, LOL about Bruno's pants fitting! About time.

Cielo- I am sure there are many other ways that they can prove she is MJ. But the scar and the gyno test seem to be the ones at the forefront. Plus, the evil trio seem to have resigned themselves to that cat being out of the bag. They're on to plan B. The tests seem more important to prove to MJ that she is who they say she is.

Does anyone know to find the old Amor Real recaps?

Great Recap CHF!! And Daisynjay loved your "I was waiting for someone's tight pants to explode, but no such luck" comment.

The most illogical part of last night's episode for me was MJ not really questioning Bruno asking her not to mention their relationship in Spain and when he weaves the tale of meeting her in Toluca and noting her resemblance to MJ why didn't she call him out????? I guess its another of those novela inconsistencies that happen esp. towards the end of the run.

CubsFan

I seem to recall they were tied to the Alborada recaps in some way. But just can't remember. I think Susanlynn knows.

Great Recap CHF.

Sandy in TN tried this for Amor Real

http://foro.telenovela-world.com/n4/list.php?f=295

Charlotte09

Sandy in TN - Charlotte09 gave you a link to the foro, and you'll have to start at the beginning and scroll thru each page of discussion to find the recaps. Caray! didn't exist at that time.

Doris LOL yes finally Bruno had on some pants last night that weren't distracting.

I liked the fight but i wanted Alex to give Bruno another beat down where he had a black eye bloody lip.Yeah i know i'm bloodthirsty but Bruno deserves it.

Elena i really feel for Sandra and understand why she turned to drugs and was loose. But Pedro is too blame too, i don't care if he's manic depressive or not.

To not fight for custody or visitations for his own daughter and then to cry over her when she's in a drug over dosed coma. Sorry he needs to be hit up side his head to.

Yes, the boys' fight scenes have me doubled over in laughter every time; my eyes get these incredulous look and my jaws just drop to the floor (pretty much the same look I have when WL/Ale's on the screen). they're thoroughly enjoyable to watch. maybe cuz you don't see that in US shows/movies.

The 3amigos w/ V was also comical/amusing.

I also am confused by the gran finale date of Sorti. In Mexico there were 95 episodes but since the first 10 were only 30 min. long, not sure how that translated into Univision's airtime.

Anyway, just saw in the Mexican mag TV&Espectaculos that the CRISTINA show with the Sorti cast is FEB 22 so Sorti has to finish before then!!!

Spanish note from the mag follows:
La telenovela Sortilegio fue todo un éxito en México, ya que la pareja que se formó entre William Levy y Jaqueline Bracamontes encantó a los televidentes; tanto que hasta se llegó a decir que eran pareja en la vida real.
Y el elenco de este melodrama visitó “El Show de Cristina”, programa que podrán revivir el próximo 22 de febrero por Univisión.
En esta emisión también estuvieron presentes Gabriel Soto, Daniela Romo y Chantal Andere.

CubsFan

The final episode of Sortilegio was only 1 hour in México. It had good ratings but it wasn't a megahit. Still, the numbers for the last episode were pretty good as it is usual for finales.

Jarocha

CubsFan: I've had my dvr set to tape Cristina shows since last week, when I heard the Sorti cast episode would come on. Now I have an idea. Thanks!

OK, I double-checked both Tv Guide and the Zap2It full show listings and both show Sorti going until Tuesday, Feb. 16. I think the State of the Union pre-emption probably pushed it out an extra day. The 16th is only showing as an hour episode on both sites.

Great recap, Melinama!

The bad guys now are going to say Ulises found Sandra, etc. That would mean if MJ were kidnapped, they had nothing to do with it. I was wondering if that security guy John taped the "ransom" call that Jorge made to the house. Probably not, but if so, they could compare the voice patterns, and that would prove that Jorge was in on the kidnapping.

I thought the scene with Vicky and the 3 suitors was sort of comical, felt they were all trying to keep straight faces, but I could have been just imagining that.

When Alex tries to explain all that's "happened" to MJ, I can see how she finds it a bit far-fetched. It's almost like a telenovela, who'd believe it? What Alex needs to do is to give MJ the Caray Caray address, so she can read all the recaps, and get back up to speed.

Here is another link that has a tiny blurb about Amor Real and a shoutout to this place as well. Props to CHF. Various TNs are included as well.

There are no recaps for Amor Real just a summary of the entire series. Alborada is the first recapped series.

From the foro: This is a complete summary in English and Spanish. Very very detailed. If cliff notes are what you are lookijng for just forget it.

Favorite blogger name: William Yanez Colunga

Favorite blogger’s comment: Connie’s “I kept waiting for one or all of them to lift their leg and mark her already!”

Lola, thanks for the explanation for the sex tape, “so when she decides to spill the beans, Maura and Co. will blackmail her with it to shut her up.” Been wondering about that.

I think it was a bit like sending a Christian to the lions letting poor Emiliano go back to Taluca by himself? Won’t the bad guys be ready to devour him for helping to thwart their plans? And won’t they be waiting with open jaws as he runs to Portfolio with the scoop?

Lol, Mrs. Imgallego, I don't think Alex would ever punch a woman. That's something Bruno would do.

That's something Bruno actually DID, when he punched Maria Jose in the face in front of Vicky and Fernando.

Shouldn't Sortilegio end a day later than it was supposed to because it got exempted for Obama's speech last week?

Melinama, thank you for the terrific recap. The Monty Python clip was a great bonus - didn't John Cleese look young and handsome?

Loved the chest thumping of Vic's many merry men. I'm liking Hernan more every day.

Bruno's a great villain as he's loatheable (is that a word?) on every level.

Diana

It's too soon to ck my TV lineup, but I'll let you know when Sortilegio ends as soon as I see it.

Can't believe they are leaving the pills with MJ. Someone needs to make sure she takes them.

And why did they let her out of the house by herself?

Emiliano coming on the Vicky was priceless & the look on both Fernando's & Hérnan's faces was too funny.

BTW
There was a gay marriage in Mex DF, it was in the morning news.

That is Il Divo singing. The opening theme is "Sortilegio". The baritone is Carlos Marin from Spain.

I think they are great & I don't get tired of it.

From the foro: This is a complete summary in English and Spanish. Very very detailed. If cliff notes are what you are lookijng for just forget it.

Connie: Has anybody else noticed how Bruno stands behind Vicky when he is arguing with Alex. Then he gets that little kid look and I keep expecting him to say "nanny nanny boo boo" and stick his tongue out. And then when he's lying he acts like the guy that always said, "Yeah, that's the ticket..." on Saturday Night Live.

LOL! I think I need to make a list of everything you've said about Bruno so far that has cracked me up. Let's see, the one from above that i copy/pasted, the tazer comment awhile back, his keeping a straight face, there are sooo many. Connie, you are seriously hilarious.

Thanks, CHF, loved your recap! Although it sorta seemed to work last night, I've been screaming at Alex on TV to stop grabbing MJ and insisting she return his feelings in the face of her mental fragility.

That Elena is one cold-hearted b!tch! She's sitting right there with her remaining twin, lying with a straight face about MJ being Sandra - knowing full well that if she succeeds her daughter's future includes marriage to the despicable Bruno.

I don't think Roberto renounced his bi-sexuality. He just told Pau he'd tell the truth to whatever future lovers he might have. The actress playing Pau did a great job in her reactions to this news. Completely believable.

I agree, CHF, about Alex's stubble. Why, oh why, do these handsome galans spoil their looks with stubble that makes them look unkempt and a bit dirty? Also, been there, done that. Stubble like that irritates your face into a sore red mess after lots and lots of kissing.

Also tired of Il Devo. Too much repetition of the song.

My word confirmation describes Katia to a T: bratiest.

Loved the recap Melinama. So MJ has to take more drugs to undo the damage that the memory erasing drug did. OK. I would be a bit hesitant too. From MJ's standpoint, she sees herself as being held captive at the Lombardo compound and Alex as her captor. Hopefully, holding her son again will be the thing to help her see that she's really MJ and not Sandra. I couldn't believe Bruno was so ballsy to continue the charade in Alex's face. I knew Alex would snap. So Uli will be waking up soon. What if he doesn't remember anything. Bruno's track record of schemes have not been very successful thus far.

Mrslmgallego and others interested in the Sorti Cristina program:

the unvision fan page (as opposed to the official Cristina Show page which still doesn't list the Sorti show) has pix from the Cristina-Sorti show and has the air date as March 1 vs. the Feb 22 date published in TV y Espectaculos. According to some girls who went to the taping, however, TWO shows were filmed back to back but will not air on the same night. So maybe the first show is Feb 22 and the second airs the following Monday March 1st. I guess will find out soon enough!!

Thanks Cielo! I'm glad I can put a smile on your face. There is just something about him--he's so funny to watch. I think it is his face and the "little kid" looks he does so well. I think he is really enjoying himself. Look for it next time. Next thing you know he'll be saying, "Mom--he's looking at me!" Reminds me of my brothers.

Thanks for the great recap - I love Dead Parrot, one of my favorites ever! I, too, really enjoyed the Emiliano/Fer/Hernan scene, that was pretty funny.

I also am dismayed to see them pairing Paula up with Gabriel, blech! She can do way better and should, she's way too lively and spunky and cute for him.

I haven't had time to write on here lately, too busy - but I do really enjoy checking it out every and reading the recaps.

The guy who played Hilario on Destilando would have been a much better choice for Gabe. He was a macho and studly guy.

Sandy in TN: I am watching Amor Real and I sure do have a lot to say about it. The foro has helped when I miss something, but it would have been great if the Caray team had been in place for that one. I'm so glad to have all of you around now...

I just reread the recap, and I just loved ''blows and complaints.'' HA ~~That would be a great title for a telenovela. You know, everyone has his/her own story. After hearing Nicalex do a quick summary of MJ's life history for her enlightenment, can you imagine what it would be like to have someone recap your life story in a nutshell like that ? Everyone is living his/her own novela.

Although you may be right about viewerville wanting Roberto to find a nice girl and settle down, that would not ring very true with the character as he is written.

Roberto is acting nice right now, but we have seen this fellow lie to his wife, engage in an extramarital affair, engage in what may have been a rape, show indifference to a plot (Mario Aguirre) that may have nearly cost his sister-in-law her life and generally act like a not-very-nice man. His affair with Ulysses began in Europe and had enough meaning for him that he re-kindled the relationship when he had a chance.

I don't know about you, but as a mother of a couple of marriage-age daughters, Roberto does not look like any kind of prize husband material to me. I sure would not want my daughter to settle down with a man who had so much stuff to work through.
I thought it was a big step for Roberto to say that from now on he is going to be honest. I did not hear him say he would never be with another man.

As this novella was written in Mexico, I must presume that some people in Mexico (the producers, etc) thought that the Mexican audience was up to dealing with this provocative topic—even though the bi-sexual men were not written in a sympathetic way.

Novelera, I agree about down with the stuble face. I am not one for looking at unshaven faces. They don't look masculine to me. I think back to La Fea and how Fernando was sooooo handsome with his clean shaven face. In contrast, look at Yantz in his last novela. He spent most of the time unshaved, until he came back from recuperating from amnesia.

Sorry, spelled the name wrong (yanez with a curve over the n.

Well another...episode...about to start.........an hour and half....to wait......this is what I would like to see...this evening.Besides another fight...and those tight pant...

During the night baby Tony starts to cry......no one comes to tend him for what ever reason.the crying ...gets stronger & stronger
..Maria Jose is awakened........and her maternal instint takes over ...now ..how could that have been washed out of her brain..?..the crying child causes her to lactate..making it natural to nurse....making it impossibe for her not to go to him.
Im new to this.....so cut me some slack if this is silly...Lol bluejeanblonde

bluejeanblonde: not silly at all. I've a couple storylines in my mind for a new TN for WL, but for now will keep to myself.

mrsImgallego someone had suggested when CCEA ended that William and Maite do a remake of Juana le Virgin.
It's too much pg rated like CCEA was.

I would like to see Wliiam and Maite do a mature adult novela together with a competent director and Producer and something that hasn't been rehashed over a thousands time. Something totally original and innovative.
