Gancho Wed Mar 24th - He's alive and we wish She was dead....

Ok so we open with the Ma barging in on the kids post you know what. She leaves finally so they can continue to enjoy their "reconciliation". OK whatever. So we go to the restaurant where the three currently solteras are lamenting that in some form or other each has lost her man. Gabi of all chicas puts the kaibosh on the sorrow and says we are here to PARRTAY! They agree and snap out of their respective heretofore funks. They toast, good thing Estre's drink looks non-alcoholic.

The spiders spar. Issy says things didn't go her way, Coni says she is not as good as Coni. Issy reminds her she put photos in the camera.

Ok speaking of that camera our dense Mau apparently managed to make breakfast. He talks abou going to eat with the girls and taking Val. She thinks of the camera and retrieves it to drop it off for developing.

Beto, in a rare moment of social compliance, has showered and deodorized and washed his clothes and Mama is combing his cowlicks. She thinks he should be wearing a suit, but he says executives can wear what they want. He talks to the doll as if it were an employee and makes demands. He continues that executives don't have ot work, that what they have employees for.

Back to M&M breakfast. She thinks maybe she won't train today and will spend the day with him. Oh, he can't, he starts back to work today. Huh? Mona learns her Pa gave him back his old post. She's still not thinking positive of him. So anyway, Mau manages to take the camera and says he'll be responsible for developing them and they can meet later to look at them together. That sounds like fun!! NOT...

OK, so now Coni is leaving Mami Vibora after having run out of venom for the moment. She looks for her hunk but he's just left, and he's not going to the gym, he went to earn a living to offer you a future. They spar, Nieves yelling at her for having not changed and having something to do with Issy. She demands Coni to listen to her that she better shape up because Mami dearest will be keeping an eye on her.

Xime and Arny and ROlu are brunching together, Xime and Arni hitting it off, her proud of his overcoming fear and him thanking her for inspiring him. Rolu is rolling his eyes surely fearing the worst, that they don't love each other.

Now it's Issy's turn to get crap from Nieves who wonders if she and Momia are starting a witches club. Nieves warns her not to mess with them.

Ok Xime goes to the Spa, this leaves perfect opportunity for Rolu to bitch out his bro for less than honorable intentions with his wife. 'Bout time. Arni defends himself very well insisting they are friends and she has helped him and he is helping Rolu to win her back so there.

Holy sh**! Aldo shows up at the tudor and looks who's eating lunch, our favorite vegetable Sal. He sees him!!! Oscar is there and says no, you are not hallucinating. Aldo is confused. Sal doesn't respond though. Lore is silly happy though.

More witch talk between Issy and Nieves. The insults escalate 'tween the fake Ma and the real ma until a fight breaks out. Of course guess who walks up at the same time as the punches, oh crap, and of course Nieves gets yelled at for attacking Mona's Ma and Ma plays the victim.

At the tudor, Aldo who looks like sh** these days is trying to talk to Sal. Instead he gets an earful about how he tells no one or his habit is cut off y punto. Poor strung out Aldo, his Pa would be so happy if he knew Sal was alive.

Oh boy, and Issy gets hers this time as she walks away with Mona arm and arm. Nieves cries and swears vengeance.

Beto shows up at work and gets a lashing for his wardrobe. Mau is happy and promises to help out Beto. Edgar shows up and Mau tends to him, and Beto gets Jero's old office.

Nieves is bawling and Estre helps her. She learns what happened but also tells Nieves that M&M reconciled and Issy wasn't expecting that.

Issy is doing her own bawling and pity party. But she wants Mona to tell her about good stuff.

Estre continues with the pep talk and not letting Issy get to her.

Mona and Mami Vibora chat abotu how wonderful Mau acted to her and she can't wait to see the photos. Oooh oooh, Mami says let's go develop them now!! Oh, well Mau has the camera. Foiled! Vibora makes a quite unsatisfied face.

Ma is going to the docs, or so she is letting Mona think, but doesn't want her to come with of course.

Estre and Mona girl chat over the love plot. The both look super cute in dresses. Estre tries to remind Mona that Nieves has done a lot for her and not to forget it, she's pretty upset so don't be too hard on her etc. and Mona should at least listen to her.

The old men chat about Issy's situation. Turns out she's negative for tests and in perfect health. Edgar really wants him to change his mind, but he ain't budgin'...Issy doesn't win this war. Darn tootin.

Mau and Beto are in the office and Mau out stretches and whacks Beto in his Betos. Gabi and Pau come in to cheer that Mau is back. They too yell at Beto for not being professional too.

Mona comes in to a sad Nieves. They chat and Nieves promises she is defending Mona, and she has been there through thick and thin. Mona is only happy though that she has her real Ma with her.

Back at the office, Pau is sour because Mau makes her Beto's secretaria.

Now we go to Doc Edgar who gratefully gives Issy the bad news that her cancer has returned. Oh goody, she looks pretty upset. Doh and that's it for tonight folks!!

Hi Kris. Thanks for the recap. Loved "the spiders spar" and your "darn tootin'". Some pieces of the plot are finally falling into place and I just hope they stay that way. We can always hope that Mau takes a peek early at the photos and removes the incriminating ones....nah! that would be too easy.

Have a great day, amiga, and don't work too hard!

Good morning all. Since I missed most of the conversation yesterday, I'll add that I also thought it was great when Isa barged into her daughter's post coital bliss and Mau boldly gloated where no man has gone before. You go Sermeño Group! And miracle of miracles, Monita didn't immediately break up with him when she found out Marcos had hired Mau. I know I know, it's only postponed, still, is our Monita finally learning to take a breath before leaping to conclusion?

Loved the girls night out scene, so cute.

Spiders sparring, dang you got that right. "Whacks Beto in his Betos", hee hee, love it.

Great title Kris, and great recap.

May I echo Jeff's sentiments? FREE SAL!!!

Judy, insomnia? Did you wake up super early or stay up super late?

Thanks for the recap -- I couldn't agree more with the title.

Lots of interesting developments. It will be interesting to see how they play out.

Highlights for me -- Rolu's face when he saw Arnie & Xime high-fiving each other. Good acting with just a minimum of facial movement. Also the bonding of Estrella & Nieves. They were sweet together.

Low point -- Aldo ( who sure does look terrible) being cowed by Oscar who threatened not only Aldo but also Estrella and their unborn child.

Güera

Hi Sylvia. Waking up early. You know us old folks.

Güera...yes, wasn't Rolu's face something...he felt so left out, and showed it without a word...good stuff

Good morning Kris Judy and Sylvia,

Nice job Kris. I always enjoy your tart crisp humor. I think that the writers and director are teasing us with that camera. I'm wondering if it will ever get developed. I'm guessing that it's going to hang out there for some time as one of those anvils that come crashing down at just the precise wrong moment when it will do the most damage.

Did you notice Beto flirting with the receptionist? What a lovable rascal.

It's been quite a while since I've felt such animosity and distaste for a character as I have for Isabel. The last time I felt such disdain for a female baddy was during Heridas de Amor when I enjoyed despising Berta with a passion. All the sympathy that I had for for her initially has evaporated leaving an especially bitter aftertaste.

I agree... FREE SAL!

Carlos

Hi Carlos...I saw that too. The scamp! Constanza better get back on the job before Beto begins to wander.

Hi kids....

I have been out of Gancholandia town for a little while or so, but that just gives me an opportunity to catch up at some point. I've been working a lot (good) and playing away from TVs and computadoras with internet so it's been sparse to be in touch, but I will catch up and thanks as always for your comments. Sometimes I write too tersely and it's hard to tell who is doing what. I'll try to fix that for folks who maybe didn't see and have no clue what's going on. I missed Tues love fest, that might have been fun to see...or not if Mau was "slow hand" :)

Thanks for adding this to sidebar link...

Kris, great recap. I don't think it was too terse, you covered everything, and made it funny, too.

I agree that the camera has changed hands quite a few times, and the writers will probably keep surprising us. My guess - maybe Beto will be told by Mau to pick up the pictures, and what would happen if he peeked at them?

I have a feeling that the Doctor's telling Hissabel her leukemia is back will backfire. We're enjoying her suffering a little, but this was done dishonestly by Marcos, and I just think it's going to come out, and cause problems for Marcos (and maybe Mauricio, too, even though he wasn't in on it).

The previews look as if Aldo may help out with Salvador, despite Oscar's warnings. Let's hope Aldo makes the right decision (I'm not holding my breath on this one, though).

I like the way you cut to the chase yet get all the sparkle in.

Mauricio and Monita together are still kind of a snoozefest for me. I'm finding Rolu/Ximena/Arnie much more compelling. That scene at breakfast, with Arnie covered with bug bites and not fretting about germs, retelling the epic tale with Xime, while Rolu stewed and imagined the worst, was perfect.

Also, I am just as amazed as Arnie that Ximena managed to build that fire all by herself (after he collected the wood). What did she start it with? Back in my own exploradora camper phase I tried many many times to start fires with stick rubbing, flint and steel wool, battery and steel wool, etc., and never had any success. Xime is magic, or maybe she's smart enough to carry a lighter.

Kris, excellent title. this was a fun, non-stop "PARRTAY!" What a wonderful read -I appreciate all of your details.

Having work interfere with my reading Gancho's recap and comments? Maddening.

Finally getting to read the recap and comments? Priceless.

Loved your take about Beto's "... rare moment of social compliance". ;)

Haven't we all had one or more employers shared his belief that "executives don't have to work, that what they have employees for". Sigh...

Do I feel at all badly Hissy thinks she is ill again? Nopis. I'll save my sympathy and concern for our dear Aldo and Estrella.

Diana

Kris:

I loved your recap. Thanks so much. I don't find it too terse, just concise.

In the girl's night out I must echo what has been said before—Paula is a knockout! Wow.

I wonder what Marcos has planned for Beto, an an executive training program? This could be hilarious. Can you see Roberto on a ropes-course? The Harvard Executive MBA program? It was a big deal that he even took a bath this morning.

Valentina is beautiful and I am fond of her but her overreactions and lack of coherent thought are wearing a bit thin. I think, mind to mind, she and Mau are a pretty good pairing. Of course she has more spunk and passion than our beloved Irish Setter.

Julia: I was SHOCKED by the fire! Xime continues to thrill me and surprise me. Arnie was at breakfast without gloves and he acted much less anxious, I noted.

FREE SAL!

HI Kris, Your recap isn't terse at all. Carlos said it best: tart and crisp. Great just like always.

We used to play a party game called "Button, button, who's got the button?" Now its "Camera, camera..." Could get interesting.

Hard to feel sorry for Rolu. He just isn't all that likeable. But he does look good when he's jealous. Maybe it's that green tinge!

Oh yeah, FREE SAL!!

Emilia:

Green tinge on Rolu! LOL.

EJ

Thanks for the recap Kris.

Too bad Moni couldn't have gotten there soonere and closer and heard mama talking. I think she'll finally see the light when she stumble onto a conversation someone has with Hissy where Hissy tells the truth. She doesn't believe anyone else, so she'll have to hear it from the snake's own mouth.
I agree Elna June, Moni's overreactions do get to be trying at times.

Looks like the Hundred Acre Wood experience is helping out Arnie. Way to go.

I think I felt a little sorry for Hissy, maybe, some, sure, you have to don't you? :)
I just wonder how she will respond, eviler or better? Could be bad for Moni if she decides to have another go at treatment and Moni has to be a donor again.

I'd like to see Sal and Aldo work together and free themselves. That would be good. Have to watch out so that Oskie doesn't catch onto Sal. Hmm, why haven't the cops caught up to Oskie yet and arrested him for attempted murder and kidnapping? Oh, well.

Free Sal! And Aldo!

Sylvia and Hombre...while I'm thinking about it. We're going down to Charlotte Friday so I'll miss your recaps. Will check in and enjoy them Monday.

What? Miss our recaps?!? Have a great trip. I think Hombre has the week off again but has to work once more starting next Friday.

Cool, Kris, much obliged. As others have said, tart and crisp. Like a good apple, and Gancho provides the cheese to go with it.

It will require suspended disbelief for Aldo (drugged by choice) and Salvador (drugged by coercion) to manage an escape.

C'mon, Paula, get those glasses back on. I like them - kind of her signature look.
