Corazon Salvaje April 22, 2010 Father Thinks he Knows Best
Juan and Gabe are also talking about wood. Juan says that if the price of wood falls here and in America Rod will be in ruin. They gloat gleefully. Gabe can’t figure him out. He has a great fortune but he hangs out with the fisher folk. Well that’s where I came from.
Some woman is praying to the Virgin about her daughter. (I’m assuming Jimena’s mom). She implores the Virgin to let her see her daughter again. Meanwhile….
Jimena is in church also praying for her mother. A couple and a young girl enter and pause next to Mena. She looks at the girl like she knows her (was this the one that was kidnapped?)
In town a woman is informing the masses that the girl was returned to her parents. It was a miracle, a miracle. Servando and Tia are hovering and hear the great news.
Tia is looking for her next sucker--uh, client. Some soldiers run up, look retarded, then leave. Servando says they should get back to the camp.
Fed wants to talk to Rod. Rod wants to know what about. Well, at your daughter’s wedding I tried to kiss Regina. It was all very innocent. Yeah, right. Rod looks a little pissed but Fed says something way too fast and Rod says no problema. Don’t worry about it. You are a righteous dude. On the day of your wedding you will receive a fortune. Fed’s eyes light up with dollar signs at the news.
Leo is nervously pacing the tent waiting for Tia to return. Tia is very happy to see her. I have been waiting for hours. Well, I’ve been thinking about you. I could come to the house. Oh, no. Never come to the house. Leo wants to know about the man that she loves. Tia lays the cards on the table.
Rod returns home to find Rosenda waiting for him. She takes his walking cane sensuously from his hand. Where is Leonarda? She left. No one is at home at the moment. Famous last words.
Tia says that the man Leo loves will have problems. He needs her more than ever. If you help him he will be in your debt always.
Randy Rod is putting his grubby mitts on Rosenda’s face. He loves her skin. Gack! He moves in for the kill--uh, the kiss. Uh oh! Regina is looking for her jailer--I mean her dad. Holy Mother of God! What is that thing she is wearing?! If you popped those sleeves do you think she would whiz around the room like a balloon? Rod says he talked to Fed and he told him what happened at the wedding. You interpreted it wrong. I’m telling you again that you will marry Fed or else. It’s your decision. (Which really means you will do it BECAUSE I SAID SO.)
Fed is fondly recalling the fact that he will receive a fortune when he marries. Doorbell. It is Fifi come to pay a visit. The houseman who acts more like a policeman directing traffic shows her in. Ever tactful, Fed demands to know what she is doing here. Oh don’t worry lover-boy nobody saw me. She brought him a coin for good luck. They start sucking face. What a man-whore.
Santos has a hot date. The guys give him a hard time. They wonder where Curly is. FF>>
Curly is down on the beach doing his important job of watching the caves. He drinks some water and spits it out. His trusty sidekick must be thirsty too because it looks like he’s drinking the water that spilled on Curly’s shoulder. He reports to Juan (with the bird in his hair) that he saw nobody on the beach. Juan pays him for his services. (Do you know how much fun it is to get bird poop out of your hair?) Gross. Juan wants to make a wager with him. Curly thinks about it and the bird says ok. Heads or tails? Heads. Oh imagine that! He wins! Juan pays him double. He reminds Curly to keep his eyes open and to report immediately if he sees anything.
At the Finca Remi brings Clemencia a huge bag of sugar. Clemencia asks him a question. How do you know Juan? Remi says that when he was a child he found Juan abandoned in the forest. He brought him home and they raised him as part of the family. She is amazed that he is the one that saved Juan. There was a letter that said to name him Juan de Dios. Clemencia fesses up and says she is the one that wrote the letter. Clemencia says that thanks to him Juan is alive. We see a tear slowing trickle down Remi’s face. Clemencia thinks it was a miracle.
At the Can Can’t Club we are again going to be entertained (NOT) by another fabulous dance. Frenchie the Fop introduces the girls and their magnificent dance of the veil. Will the madness ever end? Actually it was one of their better performances. The audience is all atwitter.
Juan sits morosely in his study remembering the day he ran into Renato and his woman. Your woman was mine. He comes to some decision and hurriedly gets up and grabs his coat. This can’t be good but at least he does it quietly.
Aimee is awake next to Renato. She is thinking about Juan. (I’m thinking how long does it take to get that glow-in-the-dark red lipstick out of the white sheets?) She needs some air. Renato stirs. Juan rides through the night and stops outside the house. Luckily for him he’s had plenty of practice climbing up on balconies with a rather large sombrero on so this time it should be a piece of cake. Aimee goes out on the balcony and magically Juan appears at her side and scares the bejesus out of her. She freaks. What are you doing here. They argue about her being married. She tries to explain it to him. It was her father’s fault. He forced her to marry Renato. (Because he said so, of course.) Surely someone would hear this by now. He is very hurt. He sort of kisses her. She goes back inside. Rento hears a horse and wakes up. Where were you? I couldn’t sleep. I heard a horse. There is no one. Aimee is relieved. He wants a little something, something, but she is too tired. Juan rides off into the night.
The next day Regina comes downstairs to find Fed waiting for her. She reminds him that they don’t have anything to talk about. Rod interrupts and tells her that she is a Montes de Oca and she will comport herself befitting that name. I invited him here so you could talk. She obviously doesn’t want to talk to him so get over it. Rod has a pain in his chest. Woo hoo! His life alert must have gone off because Leo comes in to see what happened. Everybody flutters around him. Leo wants Regina to get lost. Fed takes her outside. Leo helps him to his room. Outside Regina wants Fed to leave her alone.
Mena tells Gabe she went to church to pray for her mother. They talk about her mother, Gabe tells her she is his best friend. Yawn. FF>>
Renato comes downstairs to find Juan waiting for him. He’s glad to see him. Juan would like to help him out at the Finca. Renato doesn’t know what to think. Aimee hides on the stairs and listens. Renato thinks it is a great idea. Juan says great and he leaves. Aimee is not real happy about the whole idea. She voices her concern but me thinks the lady doth protest too much. Renato is a little confused by her reaction.
Regina and Fed are still arguing. She does not love him in her heart. Well that’s ok because Fed only loves her in his wallet.
Aimee is still stewing. She’s afraid the savage will ruin the family. It is dangerous. She thinks her dad will be pissed. Think what you are doing. Something bad will happen. Renato looks frustrated and says she is worrying for nothing. Regina’s lines, Renato’s lines. Shut the hell up already. She bites her fan. What to do, what to do?
Fed and Regina are still arguing. He wants them to spend time together to get to know each other better. He kisses her hand. She looks like she wants to barf.
Renato is thinking about Aimee’s words. He runs into the Doc. Renato tells Doc he looks tired. Well, we’ve had a lot of sick folks to take care of. He tells him about the epidemic at the Finca. Renato hasn’t got a clue. He didn’t know anything about it. Regina has been helping us. He seems surprised. Renato wants to know if the doc thinks Regina could have a secret love. Are you serious? He doesn’t think so.
(Gag alert, gag alert!)
Orca is manhandling Leo. He’s about run out of patience. Leo tells him he doesn’t have to worry. She thinks she can change Renato’s mind and he can have his job back. They argue. She strokes his face lovingly and makes googly eyes at him. (Gag! I told you.)
Aimee is still worrying about Juan. She doesn’t know what she will do. Renato sneaks up on her and she jumps. She is crying and he is worried about her. He tells her they are heading back to the Finca. He just found out there is an epidemic at the Finca and he needs to go see what is going on. She doesn’t look very happy. He wants her to go to dinner with him. She thinks she and Juan will be face to face.
Tomorrow: More Jimena and Gabe, Renato and Aimee are in bed, Juan climbs the balcony--again.

Y'ever seen the odd names that are given to bit parts sometimes? I can just imagine the resumé on these guys. "I was Dopey Soldier #1 on Corazon Salvaje."
'course, we've got a whole host of uncredited characters, really - Rosenda's Boobs, Regina's Sleeves, Juan's Screaming Vengeance...
Oh, nice one with the wedding confession, Feddy. Now if Regina tries to insist otherwise, you'll have convinced Rod it was just her natural hysterics kicking in. Let us all rejoice that the good Doctor Pablo witnessed the whole thing! ...not that Rod'll pay him any mind, either.
Omg! I love the traffic-directing doorman! (That is exactly what he looks like, too.) We need to call him in to give some of these other lost souls some direction. "Juan, go here. MdR, go there. Leonarda, go to hell."
Aimee: "Daddy made me do it!"
Juan: "Well maybe if you'd taken me to him when I asked, you could still be doing it with me!"
I see Federico's still rockin' the Lego-locks. And poor, poor Rod. First he gets a pain in his chest, and then here comes the pain in his region of donkey-related anatomy.
She does not love him in her heart. Well that’s ok because Fed only loves her in his wallet.
I am so glad I wasn't drinking anything when I read that, or I'd've been choking like Aimee at Eloisa's.
I see that all of Renato's clothing budget has gone to Aimee, and he's now wearing shirts cut from construction paper. Also, I hope Leo didn't touch Orca with the same hand she wasn't washing for touching Rod, because now she's going to have to cut it off and cauterize the wound.
Renato and Aimee are in bed, Juan climbs the balcony--again
Otherwise known as, "Par for the course," and "I knew I shuld have auditioned for Romeo and Juliet - oh, wait, I think I did."
Mad Marley Grey: Gosh, your comment is hilarious. :-D
"I knew I shuld have auditioned for Romeo and Juliet - oh, wait, I think I did."
These Juans love to climb balconies. This must be an entrance requirement for the University of Period Galáns.

(Btw, here are the entradas of CS93: 1 2)
Just want to mention that someone said yesterday's recap is not sticking to its tag either.
Could someone double check on that one, too?
I might be missing something here but it seems as though all these Montes de Ocas are all marrying each others cousins. Was that common practice in that time period? Maybe that is why all the caracters seem a little dim at times. As you all say, I'm just saying.
I am enjoying this show especially since it is so over the top. Maybe one of you could send me one of those beanies you keep talking about.
You can rely on that! :-) I don't watch STD online because real life doesn't allow me to follow too many telenovelas/series simultaneously, but I regularly download the new high quality pictures*, and my friends always post the most interesting interviews and other background stuff to our forums. I'll watch this with you from August or September. (I don't know exactly when CS ends in the US.)
* I'm pleasantly surprised at Telerisa's attitude towards promo pictures. In the old times only small, unremarkable photos were released on the official homepages, but nowadays it seems they keep abreast of the times. The new photoshoots are so huge and beautiful that sometimes I nearly fell off of the chair while I'm browsing.
*confessions of a hopeless photo collector*

So, I found the composition title I was seeking yesterday, which was playing while Jimena's mom was wracked with angst and tears: see Horowitz plays Schumann Traumerei in Moscow.
Also, LOL at Aribeth: another Juan, another balcony.
Yesterday's episode was quite delightful, I thought. My favorite was the lovely scene with Clemencia and Remigio; but the balcony scene with Juan and Aimee was a close second, with the true-love scenes of Leonarda and Arcadio and Federico and Fifi adding spice.
Maybe a little schadenfreude here, but I kind of enjoyed seeing Rodrigo get angina. That is mean, isn't it. Anyway, this show does a lot of things right, and I am really enjoying it.
The little girl in church -- I don't know, but I am wondering if she and Jimena will be friendly. They exchanged such warm looks. The woman in the town square said the parents are going to host a mass for her, so maybe that will come up again. Suspicion of gypsies is going to keep Griselda and Servando out of town for a while.
Much as I despise Federico's behavior toward Regina, I still feel like his relationship with Fifi is honest; he sincerely likes her and she him. And the story touching on their subplot again today reinforces that it's still a live plot thread.
Leonarda's scenes with Griselda are always fun. So, Rodrigo is going to get into trouble; so far so good.
I cried out loud, "No! No!" when Rodrigo started to kiss Rosenda again. That's twice now that they have halted him short of kissing her, so my theory that Rodrigo is Rosenda's father is technically still in tact. I was so relieved he didn't kiss her.
Why doesn't Regina just let her father lock her up under house arrest -- it would be better than marrying Federico. But with this latest ploy, perhaps Regina in the back of her mind is in fact playing for time. She won't give into Federico no matter how long he tries; but letting him try will mollify her father for a while.
Oh, gawd, I just realized that if Rodrigo is Rosenda's father, then she and the twins are half sisters. That would kill Aimee; nice!
That scene with Juan and Hummingbird and the parrot and the coins was cute; I was thinking I need to get a couple screen caps of it.
The girls at the casino have been paying attention to their belly dancing lessons -- they were indeed better in this episode; I thought so, too.
Wow, that scene on the balcony with Juan and Aimee was truly sad for both of them, especially considering that they are parents together. Aimee was genuinely upset, and of course, Juan was, too. He can't avoid self-recrimination over the way they worked this plot line; she was correct.
Juan broke it off with Aimee. Renato has more right to be offended. And now Aimee has gone sour on Renato with Juan around. With Juan coming on as manager at the farm, the wedge between Aimee and Renato is only going to worsen.
Tsk, tsk, Mad Marley is right; Gabriel needs a whack upside the head. Being a gypsy is ok as long as they're just friends.
Aribeth, I loved the Courses at the University of Period Galán! Here are a few I thought of along with yours:
Balcony Climbing
Ship Captaining
Sword and Knife Techniques
Hair Tossing
Shirt buttoning (optional)
Facial Non-Recognition (course open to all characters)
Please add to this list!
People have already mentioned a lot of the funny lines in the recap, but one that had me cracking up was "Don’t worry about it. You are a righteous dude." Hilarious, Connie!
Ivy
All that auburn, gold and aqua together -- wow, I couldn't stop gawking. It was beautiful!
xlntperuvian:
Hey, those courses are great, "Facial Non-Recognition" is my favourite. :-D
A few more:
- Slow motion walking
- How to dance with a woman who wears crinoline without accidents in a ballroom filled with women who also wear gigantic skirts
- Juicy kissing
- Walking stick tricks
- Hairstyle tips: bows, ribbons, Prince Charming styles, pigtails, braids and everything you never dared wear dared wear in your real non-metrosexual life
- Romantic hero lovemaking: candles (be careful with the fire), roses (how to avoid the thorn) and baldachin (don't let the curtains strangle you)
- Savage lovemaking PG-13 style: caves, haystacks and beaches, aka how to avoid sharp rocks, hay and sand in your most intime areas, and how not to reveal any of these areas
- We definitely need another heroes: trips and tricks from our idol, Fabio
(ehh, the Hungarian translation of gonorrhea is "tripper", so this _trips_ and tricks made me giggle :-))
Julia, thank you! I can see the last two episodes, but Monday's recap is still invisible.
Connie, thank you for today's recap! Marvelous. Especially liked "Regina’s lines, Renato’s lines. Shut the hell up already." lol.
Jeri, thanks for the video clip of Vladimir Horowitz playing Traumerei. I've seen it before, but not in several years. I really like the piece, and when played so beautifully by Horowitz it can bring tears to my eyes.
I don't think Rodrigo could be Rosenda's father, because I think Rosenda was already a little girl, and whose father was Celestino, when Rod had his tryst with Magda.
I've noticed that many of the scenes are very brightly lit, probably because it's shot in HD. This makes the characters squint sometimes, but also makes their outfits look spectacular, and I'm really enjoying all the over the top outfits. I think even Jimena has a subtly different gypsy hat and head band each day, but I could be wrong about that.
I enjoyed every comment today including Mad Marley's uncredited characters and Aribeth's take on everything.
Jeri, as usual, you pinpointed my favorite moment - Clemenica and Remigio. My eyes filled - it was beautifully touching...Ack.
Diana
Jeri: I haven't thanked yet the lovely picture of Juan-A-Brain & The Balcony. :-)
Diana, Jeri: Remigio is my favourite side character (Doctorcito is the second one), and I enjoy his scenes very much. And María Rojo is such a great actress, and she portrays Clemencia so well, that even her scenes with Aimée and Leo make me melt.
Mad Marley, you crack me up.
OK, gang, time to power down the p/c & warm up the blender. Happy Friday!!!!
Maggarita
:-D
Not sure what I thought about Aimee's dress. It looked pretty at first but not so much up close.
Hide hams in those sleeves...Now that is funny!
Will check back in later. Have to clean up my mess.
Aribeth keep the Rosenda Vidcaps coming. Love those. You do awesome work with all the vidcaps. So Rosenda does recognize her mother. Hmmm It sure is a good way to rub it in to Magda. In hindsight, Magda should have brought Rosenda along with her instead of leaving her with her miserable father and having to put up with the Montes De Oca's.
I still wonder if Renato has completely forgotten who Juan was. You can still recognize people 10-15 years later unless they drastically changed their appearance on purpose to NOT be recognized.
OT: Cielo de Levy, I was looking out for some Maite Perroni stuff and found some gems with RBD. There is even a Hillary Duff cameo on a video and a Meghan Mullaly interview. I also found a CCEA trailer in English. How come we never saw those. A Channel devoted to every single CCEA episode in a 10 minute recap in another language and a different running title.

I wish they did not change the intro song since Maite Sang it. The guys dubbing William Levy's lines kind of sounds like him or closest to him as opposed to everyone else.
Aribeth, do they dub the shows in Hungarian or do they subtitle them? Or do they leave it as is? I wish they only subtitled they shows so that you can experience the full range of the acting including the tone of voice. It is different with anime since they are drawn instead of real.
Here is the dude/dudette's channel with 445 videos.
Go ahead and enjoy your William Levy fix. Hopefully I get to enjoy some Rosenda. ;) J/K BTW Marichuy's mother looks like Leonarda. And The old guy in the jail processing her paperwork is Chucho form Sortilegio.
Ibarramedia
But.... I could be wrong. We shall see.
Ibarramedia
"She does not love him in her heart. Well that’s ok because Fed only loves her in his wallet." That was my favorite!
Rodrigo did the deed with Magda in his office; and there was a scene with young Rosenda, where Magda was teaching her to steal from the big house.
If the latter came before the former, then Rosenda is not Rodrigo's daughter. If the other way around, she could be.
My theory that Rodrigo is the father is based on a couple other occurrences, though.
One is the fact that Rosenda has been made a quasi-member of the family already -- about equal to what her status would be were she a known child on the wrong side of the blanket. She's Leonarda's godchild.
The other occurrence is that strange, little side plot with the ring -- how it made it from Rodrigo to Leonarda to Arcadio and finally to Rosenda, who still retains it.
There was no reason for this side plot at all that I can see, other than to set up a symbolic connection between Rodrigo and Rosenda.
The one who would know if Rodrigo is the father is Marlene; there's probably no one else.
Cecilia is Leonarda. I believe her name is Helena Rojo. She was very sweet and cute in CCEA though.
I'm sure there's symbolism with the ring, but Rosenda is definitely Celestino's daughter, not Rodrigo's.
I was actually thinking about Maite and had to do some research on her. Lo and behold, stuff just falls into my lap. Gotta love the interwebs. Lol. Funny, I talk as if I really know her personally. Though I wouldn't mind taking her out to a Redskins game or a DC United game or watch a figh in Las Vegas. ;)
Ibarramedia
Remember Rosenda was just an ordinary maid like that young girl she fought with. Then they have that conversation and subsequent blackmail. Next thing you know, Rosenda has been *promoted* and she now dresses nicely instead of wearing a typical maid's uniform and she is all of a sudden accorded priviledges befitting a family member or relative.
Ibarramedia
Ibarramedia
It's funny, though; they still did not show the two of them actually kissing in tonight's episode.
ibarramedia, Leonarda did make the godchild story up; but it's still a contrivance to elevate the character for some reason...
So, it looks like we are having a new time slot, starting Monday: 12 midnight eastern. It's Gancho's spot.
GinCA
"Aribeth keep the Rosenda Vidcaps coming. Love those. You do awesome work with all the vidcaps."
Thanks, but it's Jeri who bring us the beautiful vidcaps, not me, I'm the photoshoot geek. :-)
"Aribeth, do they dub the shows in Hungarian or do they subtitle them?"
Unfortunately in Hungary everything is dubbed except the newest movies in the cinemas. (However, the biggest hits like Avatar are also dubbed.)
There's a huge dispute on internet regarding this problem for years, one half of the viewers want to watch subtitled movies in television, or at least the channels should broadcast two audio tracks, the original and Hungarian one, so the viewers could choose between them, the other half stick to dubbing.
I belong to the new internet generation, we download the series and watch them with or without subtitle, depending on the language and the difficulty of the script and accents. I love accents, though. :-) In Hungary there aren't many different accents, it's a small country, almost everyone speaks the same language and the same dialect. Except those brave foreign ones who decided to learn our difficult language. :-)
It's a great fun to listen to the diversity of English and Spanish languages.
Nowadays I watch Destilando amor, and James's accent's killing me. :-)
"It is different with anime since they are drawn instead of real."
That's true, but animes are dubbed by great Japanese actors, so it's interesting to listen to their speech. I love the tune and rhytm of the oriental languages.
***
New time slot? The rating are this low, or what? It seems to be unfair with the viewers.
Btw, Mexican ratings:
- After a year of glory (26-32 points) Dinero's astonishingly low (23-24 points), despite the fact that it'll end in two weeks.
- Soy tu duena has nice ratings, 25-27 points.
- Corazón's finale had 27,6 points.
"Cecilia is Leonarda. I believe her name is Helena Rojo. She was very sweet and cute in CCEA though."
Yes, she's Helena Rojo. She's a great actress, a real Mexican diva, I like her very much. :-)
El privilegio de amar (produced by Carla Estrada) was one of her biggest hits. I think that was the most successful telenovela in the 90's.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0211849/
Either way, it stinks. What is going in its place? No indication, so far.
In place of Corazon Salvaje's timeslot is 2 full hours of the 8 p.m. novela "Hasta Que El Dinero Nos Separe." I was shocked when the station announced Corazon Salvaje would be moved to 12 midnight as its new time. The novelas shown between 7 p. m. and 9 p.m. are the always the new novelas and those are the best time slots for new ones. I've seen when a novela is moved to an hour earlier or later but moved to 12 midnight is ridiculous. That must be what is done when the station wants to remove it for low ratings?
