Gancho Wed 4/28 - Love, love me do

Alternate title #1: Where in the world is Valentina? (Thanks JeffMN!)

Alternate title #2: All the air comes out of the balloon. Can we put it back in? (Thanks Hombre!)

Kris is traveling today and the rest of the week so cannot do tonight's recap. You are all invited to drop by with your opinions and feelings on tonight's episode. If you wish to share your rendition of your favorite scene or scenes by all means feel free. I may combine recaplets into one recap, or just do a quickie if the spirit moves me. If several of us are moved then so much the better. The more the merrier I always say.

Tonight's title courtesy of JudyB. She's right, our characters just want to be loved. Don't we all?

From Carlos:
Tano's call, informing him that Lobo is wanted in Chicago for spousal abuse and attempted murder was very well-timed, snapping Mao out of his grumpy pity party just as our new and improved Coni along with Beto deliver Wolfboy all bagged up in a net ready for delivery. Love Coni's little extra kicks to a helpless wolf. Nice hasn't completely dampened her enthusiasm for a little taste here and there of well-directed aggression. Her revelation of Isabel's thwarted attempt to poison Moni during the fight gives an urgency to find Moni and Isabel before Snakelady succeeds in fulfilling her malicious mission.

Meanwhile, a conflicted and very dramatic Ximy expels the Klunders, choosing to dress in the black raiment of a grieving widow, instead of the inflammatory scarlet she had originally planned to wear. Interestingly she invited her true soul mate Lalo over for consultation. Too bad that he nixes the strawberry daiquiris.

Taking the rejuvenated Sal's motorcycle to the vecindad to apologize to Moni, Mao finds the apartment abandoned. Oh no!

Thus begins tonight's rather fun episode. Next!

Sylvia pipes up: Sal and Gabi had their first "argument", she didn't want to ride on the new motorcycle that Sal just purchased that morning. However Mauricio, who had just exited the building, did. He needed it to ride over to Valentina's. If you know anything at all about how boys feels about their motorcycles then you'll know that Sal is a VERY good friend for loaning Mau his wheels.

JudyB's turn: Oh, and our alternate universe pixie DID tell Lalu that the reason she couldn't choose between the two bros was because she'd like to keep 'em both. So we're ready for our next telenovela!

Back to Carlos: As Mao is leaving on the moto Cristian and his retinue of cops arrive to take charge of Lobo. Hearing of Issy's plan to off Moni, Cristian has the others pile into his patrol car to accompany him to the 'hood to arrest the murderous reptile. Sal wants to drive. "Negativo."

The Puppy meets with his Cougar over soft drinks to tell her of his plan to study abroad as soon as he finishes high school. She has mixed emotions about this.

Iván makes it clear to the predatory Alejandra that he only has eyes for the screechy Luisa.

Sylvia again: Carlos is too modest to tell you himself that his beloved Coni, possibly basking in the good will generated by her role in protecting her new sister from El Lobo, reveals to Beto, Nieves and Marcos that Isa had planned to murder her own daughter during the fight. What was in the bottle that Beto swapped out wasn't water but...POISON! Caras impactadas all around.

And our dashing Man of Mystery completes it for us: As he walks outside, all the other characters arrive, and are impactados to hear that Moni and her Mom have left, taking everything. There’s no note, no clue, as to where they went. Estre’s not home, so they decide to ask the neighbors if anyone knows anything. Coni, holding her father’s hand, sadly tells Mau that Isabel is very dangerous, and she won’t stop until she’s achieved her goal. And her goal, says Marcos, is to kill Valentina. Mau is really shocked now.

Cut to a white Mercedes, tooling along the highway, Hissy at the wheel, Moni looking at cows. They stop at some town for a bite to eat, entering a rough looking cantina. We see a bald bruiser in a wife beater undershirt. Moni wants Hissy to take her vitamins, but Hissy says the topic of her illness is off limits, they’re just to enjoy themselves and forget about Hissy’s health until the final time comes. We’ll travel and leave behind all those people who hurt us. Moni’s sad, but she’ll try to be happy if Isabel stops talking about those people. Deal. Moni’s also worried about money, they got very little from the sale of the furniture. Hissy says she has money in the bank, and saw a branch (sucursal) in the town square. Moni should order some food, she'll go to the bank branch and make a withdrawal. She goes, Moni calls the waiter over.

Xime’s in mourning, black dress, black shades, as she solemnly descends the spiral staircase. She tells the boys her final three things. Una, we’re not talking about this again, the decision has been made. Dos, really Rolu, Arnie, I don’t want you guys living here anymore, and Tres, I really like this black dress, and I’m not changing it! Arnie is the first to say adiós. He’s sorry he fell in love with his brother’s wife, but he couldn’t help it. There was no way to stop what he felt. He leaves. Rolu won’t go so easily. He begs her (te lo ruego), give me another chance, give us another chance. Xime walks to the base of the staircase, dramatically turns, and tells him no. Their matri didn’t work, doesn’t function, he has to accept it, it’s over. Rolu’s getting tearful, and when his pleading doesn’t work, he decides to tell her HIS three things. Una, I’m not giving up, Dos, I’m going to stay very close to you, and Tres, I swear I won’t rest until I reconquer you, OK? Xime firmly pushes him out the door. She walks back to the stairs, turns, and says to herself “How difficult it is to be a woman loved too much by two men.”

Mau, having heard the truth, thanks Coni for saving Moni’s life the day of the fight. Coni remarks that Moni’s not her favorite person, but she’d never want to KILL her. They wonder how they could track down Moni. Beto suggests Alicia’s house in Moroleón, but Mau thinks that’s too obvious. Coni agrees, Isabel had this well planned, she never makes false steps, calculates everything coldly. Beto says Marcos and Nieves went to see if Cesar knows anything, and Paula and Cris are filing the police report. Coni promises she will help Mauricio find Valentina. Mau still isn’t sure he trusts Coni, though. Coni insists she will show she’s not the same as she used to be, that she’s very repentant for all she’s done. Only time will tell, says Mau. Aldo and Estrella walk in to hear the news.

Back in the cantina the bald bruiser is having an arm wrestling match with another big punk. Moni asks the waiter about them. He tells her those guys always bet, and the bald guy’s the town champ. And sure enough, he slams his opponent’s arm to the table. His name might be El Trucho (the trout). Hissabel returns, not looking too happy. She reports she didn’t have much money in the bank, and has to wait 6 months to withdraw what she has (glad I don’t use THAT bank). What are they to do? No money. The wheels start turning in Moni’s head, as she eyes El Trucho.

Back in the vecindad, everyone’s gathered to discuss the situation, which doesn’t look good. Cris tells everyone that tomorrow an alert will go out to police departments all over the area, that could work. He and Paula did call to Moroleón, and the apartment there is empty. Beto says no one knows Moni’s new cell number, and Hissy’s phone is off. Coni urges calm.

Lalu can’t believe Xime threw out both guys. He’d die just to have one. But what will you do now? Well, Xime’s been reading a book called “How to overcome a breakup.” Lalu wants two copies. Xime’s been stuck all day in Chapter One, but apparently it advises taking advantage of your new freedom to get to know yourself better. So she looked in the mirror, said Hello, and was amazed, the girl in the mirror was just like her. Her favorite color was pink just like mine, it was maraviguau!

Arnie’s cleaning, Rolu arrives, what are you doing in my place? I always lived here when I was single. Turns out they both own this house, in fact they grew up here. They both cross their arms, they’ll both live here, and they can each watch each others’ movements, because neither one is giving up.

Chapter One wasn’t getting Xime too far, so she tried Chapter Two, which said to reconnect with friends, and that’s why she’s talking to Lalu, her best “amiga”. Lalu thinks she shouldn’t have left Chapter One. She does have to understand herself. He thinks she actually loves one of the those Klunder boys, but has to figure out which. She disagrees, she has feelings for both, and can’t stand them fighting. She just wants to escape, have a daiquiri.

Arnie says if you’re gonna live here, you have to help clean, I’m not your maid. Rolu’s response? He starts slamming the broom into the sofa, knocking things over, causing Arnie to quickly don his blue surgical mask, horrified. They fight over a photo of Xime until it goes flying, crashing to the floor, the glass shattering.

Mau is moping in Moni’s barren abode. He remembers his last word, stay with your mother, you deserve each other. What have I done? he laments.

Moni and Ma have found a cheap motel room for the night. At least it’s clean. Hissy’s sad about the money, what are they going to do? But for her, returning is not an option. Moni promises she’ll get money, she has an idea. How much do you have left, Mamá? Three thousand meager pesos ($240.00). Moni takes the money, tells Hissy to rest, she’s going out. Isabel’s worried, Moni tells her Trust me, and walks out. Hissy has a bit of a headache, and when she looks in the mirror she looks very sick, very haggard. The sick Isa taunts her with Marcos’s words “Soon you’ll die, Isabel, your life has been useless.” Shut up! she tells her reflection. I think she’s actually losing it.

In the cantina, Trucho is winning it (another arm wrestling match), when Moni walks in, flashing her bills. I challenge you, she says. Trucho thinks a little girl like her shouldn't be out alone. But if she’s serious who’s her fighter, where is he? It’s me, says Moni, causing the whole place to break out laughing. Trucho thinks she couldn’t dream of beating him. Moni says in a boxing match, I believe I could. Tune in tomorrow for Trucho Talks Trash, but Can Moni Match his Muscles? ¡Ojalá!

Thanks y'all, these group efforts are fun. Guess what? I learned a dicho today that is perfect for us and also for Ximena, heh heh.

Dicho of the day:
Donde come uno, come dos (o tres) = the more the merrier (Lit. where there’s food for one, there’s food for two [or three])

Thanks for opening things up Sylvia. No recaplet, but alternate title:
Where in the world is Valentina?

Thanks Sylvia,

Tano's call, informing him that Lobo is wanted in Chicago for spousal abuse and attempted murder was very well-timed, snapping Mao out of his grumpy pity party just as our new and improved Coni along with Beto deliver Wolfboy all bagged up in a net ready for delivery. Love Coni's little extra kicks to a helpless wolf. Nice hasn't completely dampened her enthusiasm for a little taste here and there of well-directed aggression.

Next!

Carlos

Of course my favorite scene was the surprise of seeing Ximena toss both Klunders out and then the following scene with delicious Lalu (we left him our of our fantasy contest!). His eye rolling when Xime was talking about the difficulty of getting to know herself was a hoot. Man he does a lot with his little bitty role. What a guy! (Evidently he does quite well with straight parts also.)

Oh, and our alternate universe pixie DID tell Lalu that the reason she couldn't choose between the two bros was because she'd like to keep 'em both. So we're ready for our next telenovela!

As Mao is leaving on the moto Cristian and his retinue of cops arrive to take charge of Lobo. Hearing of Issy's plan to off Moni, Cristian has the others pile into his patrol car to accompany him to the 'hood to arrest the murderous reptile. Sal wants to drive. "Negativo."

The Puppy meets with his Cougar over soft drinks to tell her of his hi plan to study abroad as soon as he finishes high school. She has mixed emotions about this.

Iván makes it clear to the predatory Alejandra that he only has eyes for the screechy Luisa.

Thanks Judy.

Carlos

Carlos, you are so funny, I loved your little gems. And Judy's and Sylvia's were great, too. Too bad I didn't really proofread my part, but hopefully it's understandable.

I was thinking another title for this episode could be called "All the air comes out of the balloon. Can we put it back in?" It really was sad, with Xime's relationships over (maybe), Aldo and Estre bittersweet but realistic, and Mau so filled up with desire, riding in on that moto, only to have all the air come out when he found the apartment empty. Good thing we know they CAN get that air back in, and it'll only take a few episodes!

Wow! I stepped out for a moment to sit on the patio with the Lovely Linda in this beautiful, cool, Texas evening, while I sipped a martini, and lo and behold, the Gancho elves have swooped in and left a wonderfully done, detailed recap. Magical!

Thanks Sylvia! You are a wonder. Nicely done. Tomorrow should be marvigua. Has Moni overestimated her ability as a boxer?

I can't begin to put into words how proud I am of Coni. She's exceeding all the expectations I've had for her. She certainly wins the Most Improved award. Points to Tano. Timing is everything.

Carlos

Hombre,

Sorry, I must slow down my reading or get my eyes checked. You were the Gancho elf. You are the wonder... Then again, so is Sylvia and so is Judy. Thanks you guys.

Carlos

I wonder if Hissabel actually has a plan. Is she really out of money? Does she have anything to do with the town where they stopped? Previously, she left nothing to chance. But when she looked at herself in the mirror, I felt she might be losing her cool. Of course, that might be dangerous, too.

Did anyone else find it odd that when Mau does a macho turn with the motorcycle and tools right into the vecinidad there were miraculously no knots of neighbors chatting by the phone, no woman washing laundry by the communal sink, no children, no pets, nothing for him to run over?

Güera

Thanks for the tag-team recap from our recapping luchadors. El Fantasma Vengador and La Furia Enmascarada bring 'em on! Our team can take 'em.

Loved when Beto pulled Coni back from kicking Lobo he made a move to feel up Paula's leg.
By the way, did anyone take Lobo away?

Carlos, I'm so sorry I doubted Coni. I thought for sure she had at least one more act of badness in her, but it doesn't look like it. She's doing good. Will she be the one to cause the demise of Hissy?
With Coni, at least someone smart on the good side, "Coni agrees, Isabel had this well planned, she never makes false steps, calculates everything coldly."

I don't know about boxing the big guy, better duck.

If Hissy wouldn't have been paying off doctors to handle Jero, she'd still have some money left. I guess if you die, you don't want anything left.

Love your alternate title Hombre, "All the air comes out of the balloon. Can we put it back in?".
And yes, does Hissy have a plan? Just don't know. Is she playing it by ear?

Not sure who Xime will end with. I thought with Arnie after they brought him aboard, but leaning more toward Rolu now or .. no one. Looks like perhaps Rolu has perhaps straightened out?
Arnie and Rolu living together, definitely an "Odd Couple".

Güera, it was odd that no one was there and odd that no one would have seen them moving out all of the furniture. How do you keep that quiet and away from the chimos(a/o)s.

You all did such a terrific job of patching together a very thorough recap. What a team this is!

This was a pretty fast paced episode. Lalu was very expressive as he held our Xime's hand and tried to lead her to self discovery. What a hoot she was in trying to get to know herself by standing in front of the mirror and interviewing herself. Lots of Xime time today. Yea!

Moni & Mau were both more fun apart than they have been together lately. And the Beto/Coni scenes are both funny and touching. Have you noticed how often Coni clings in a child like way to both Marcos and Beto? Her acting is spot on.

Güera

Evening all. I decided to take EJ's advice and went for a long walk tonight. I returned and wow, so many comments! You folks are great for jumping in to help out.

Guera, I noticed Clinging Coni too! I like her that way I think.

I'm going to add one more thing: Sal and Gabi have their first argument, she doesn't want to ride on the new motorcycle that Sal just purchased that morning. However Mauricio, who has just exited the building, does. He needs it to ride over to Valentina's. If you know anything at all about how boys feels about their motorcycles then you'll know that Sal is a VERY good friend for loaning Mau his wheels.

Güera,

I've noticed Coni's clinginess ever since she was sprung from jail. I'm not surprised since she seems to have really been traumatized by the hard time (what was it, a day and a half?) served? Everyone else has been in the slammer but she was most affected and she's out tough girl. I think the difference is, the others had friends, she was all alone until Moni reached out (sorta) to her. I felt better about her when she vamped Lobo and then got in a few kicks tonight. I agree, "spot on."

Hombre, if you get HBO, give a look to Tréme. It is well done and the music is wonderful. Tomorrow night they are showing all the episodes up till now. I heard it mentioned on the radio and checked it out. Awesome. It's about New Orleans after Katrina. Anyone else who likes good drama, good acting, and good music, check it out.

Carlos

Thank you Team Gancho!

Your summaries meshed perfectly, your camraderie evident at every turn. You all have such different but amazing styles and all compliment each other.

My favorite lines were of Coni and Lalu.

Jeff, your comments always make me smile and you do great titles. It looks like you may be right - perhaps Ximena will be alone. Although I thought she would (and should) end up with Rolu, this ending may actually make sense.

Carlos, "grumpy pity party", "The Puppy meets with his Cougar" and "Nice hasn't completely dampened her enthusiasm for a little taste here and there of well-directed aggression" were great.

Sylvia: "Carlos is too modest to tell you himself that his beloved Coni, possibly basking in the good will generated by her role in protecting her new sister from El Lobo reveals to Beto, Nieves and Marcos that Isa had planned to murder her own daughter during the fight." Excellent!

Judy: "Oh, and our alternate universe pixie DID tell Lalu that the reason she couldn't choose between the two bros was because she'd like to keep 'em both. So we're ready for our next telenovela!". Inspired! Yes, give the girl her own show, we'd love it!

Hombre: "Coni, holding her father’s hand, sadly tells Mau that Isabel is very dangerous, and she won’t stop until she’s achieved her goal". Well said (however painful to read).

Güera: "Have you noticed how often Coni clings in a child like way to both Marcos and Beto? Her acting is spot on." I always thought Coni had a vulnerable spot - what a great observation.

Now that everyone is at long last joining forces, Moni's rescue is assured. I want Aldo, Estrella to live happily ever after with their baby. I don't care that he's in high school - I want the telenova happy ending...

Diana

Diana, I think Aldo has grown too much in the past couple of weeks for him to just go off and forget about what he has left behind. When he told Estrella he was leaving the area and she was slightly taken aback I thought "Aha! They are going to be a happy family." In the Looking For Love theme, they have both had a tough time of it always looking for love in the wrong places. I don't believe they would wish the same fate upon their own child. The kid HAS to feel loved by both parents. Period.

I like the way every couple has its spats, its differences, just like in real life. Gabi and Sal, so good for each other, argue about Sal's wild side, Paula got Cris to overcome his fear of commitment, Beto and Coni both had to see beyond the physical attraction and the cultural differences to the hidden strengths of character, Aldo and Estrella had to deal with the age difference, and Moni and Mau -well, I'm not sure they have gotten over their mutual stubbornness.

That leaves the two triangles, Rolu-Xime-Arnie, and Marcos-Nieves-Cesar. Both are up in the air.

I don't know if we mentioned it, but I was glad Estrella got a casting call for a cereal for pregnant women, so she's resuscitating her acting career.

I'm glad you mentioned Estrella's casting call. I had missed that. I was a little bugged that the plot line had seemed to drop off the face of the earth.

Did y'all notice how on top of things Paula is crime-wise? I think she should leave office work and become a policewoman. She could be the chief of police.

Wow I missed that one -- the casting call. I've been wondering what happened to the telenovela role she was offered The writers never mentioned it again. She neither turned it down because she was pregnant or worried about what to tell them. The storyline just died.

Güera

Mao must be very trusting of the denizens of the 'hood. As Güera noted, he pulled right into the patio, but he also left the key in the ignition when he ran to check on Moni. Oh well, it's Sal's hog, anyway. Also , he burst into Moni's apartment without knocking. I guess folks in Mexico routinely leave their doors unlocked, keys in the ignition, and knocking on doors is optional.

Carlos

Another thing that still has to be resolved is where is Loriloca? Seems like she will have to pop in here somewhere and torment Sal and Gabi.

Yeah, what's up with Loriloca? And whatever happened to that detective? I guess it's pretty obvious Oscar offed him so I guess he's pushing up daisies somewhere.

Sylvia,

Jero said on his disc that Oscar killed the detective as well as the lawyer, though he may have just presumed that. When folks are killed on TNs I like to see the bodies so I know for certain that they are indeed dead. As you know, often presumably dead people (especially villains) often reappear, so I insist, "Show me the body."

I'm wanting an update on both Loriloca and Jerónimo. How can they possibly improve on his stunning good looks?

Carlos

Hi all, Sorry Mike and I have been away from all you wonderful people. Mike's mom has had some problems and we have only been home to sleep for the past week. She is now in a rehab facility very close to our house, so we're hoping for a little breathing room. After all, we have a wedding coming up next week!

We have missed y'all but have tried to keep up with the recaps during looooong stretches of waiting in the hospital for phantom doctors to materialize. (sorry Carlos)

I was pleased to hear that Estrella has an acting part and agree that Aldo probably won't go far. He's so eager to help raise his child, bless him. Lots of teenage boys would be gone in a puff of smoke.

Please, please, please let's have a tn about Ximena and the Klunders. I'd watch that no matter what time it was shown! (as to the kissing part, Rolu, definitely, although Mau seems to know his way around tonsils also!)

Where's Loriloca?

Paula would make a wonderful detective. She's fearless, clever and curious.

Can't believe how much I'm already missing our Gancholand group. It has been a wonderful rollercoaster of a ride. You recappers, and sub, are the best, and all you commenters, well, kudos all around.

Hi guys. Sylvia did a marvelous job of putting this all together. Hear hear!!!

My computer was all goofy this morning before I left for work so couldn't add anything but enjoying all the comments and of course savouring the cameraderie which is, alas, drawing to a close.

(and now every time I write "alas" as in "woe", it looks to me like "alas" "wings" as in Spanish. Crazy.

All:
What a team. I only have a minute to check in but i wanted to say thanks to all for getting up a recap that was as seamless as it was informative.

Two more days plus the finale! Arghhh!

Who is goint to put op our Gancho reunion check in spot?

With a twinkle, a tear, and a hug to all of Gancholandia,

Your EJ

I forgot about something. You know when it looked like Beto was trying to feel Paula's leg in the office? I thought he was doing something else, that he was trying to push her away because she was standing right over Lobo and Beto was afraid Lobo would look up her skirt. Beto kept pushing her skirt against her legs and I thought he was being more protective and territorial than lecherous. But of course I could be completely wrong.

I thought Estrella might change her mind about wanting Aldo around once the baby was born and she was trying to juggle working and child care on her own, but I hope she'll come around before then. Not that she needs to marry him (although that's what I'm hoping for as their eventual happy ending), but she should let him be a dad. He wants to, he'd be good at it, and it's his kid.

Every scene with Ximena was so full of all the spark and sass I love about her. I appreciated that she took the time to pose dramatically on the stairs before speaking. And then her déja vu when speaking the same lines to Rolu as she had to Arnie. Either the writers are taking a great deal of care writing her lines, or she's brilliant at improvisation.

Forgot to say, I LOVE YOUR DICHO, SYLVIA. That's one we can use, and it speaks to the hospitality of the Latinos also. Reminds me of their other one...something about when an extra person arrives for dinner and they say something to the effect that "we'll just add more water to the beans".

You had me intrigued with the "did he or didn't Beto grope Paula" question. Went back and looked at the tape. He was flipping her skirt up and nudging her leg and she told him to stop.

But Sylvia, I love your good heart and noble interpretation...would have been nice if he were protecting her nether regions from Lobo's profane gaze, but I'm afraid such was not the case.

But you are definitely "pure of heart" amiga, and that is to your credit.

Ha ha!! Oh well, Beto will always be Beto. I'm afraid I typically do give most people the benefit of the doubt even when facts to the contrary are staring me in the face.

Is there any chance whatsoever that Lobo didn't actually beat his wife? Any?

No? Oh, okay. They sure did do a number on His Royal Hotness. Hard to see his face at all under that bloody mess.

Jeff, have you seen much of Tormenta this week? Would they really kill off sweet Serena? Could her doctor have a worse bedside manner?

Julia- I agree, Xime was fabulous. I also appreciated her carefully taking the time to pose dramatically on the stairs and her conversation with herself as she tried to get to know herself. Oh why can't Lalu be straight? He is the only one who is always on Xime's wavelength.

How odd is it that Rolu and Arnie own a house in town, yet everyone chose to live in the apartment with Jero? Especially Arnie...before he fell in love with Xime, it seems he would have preferred to live there by himself, so Rolu wouldn't be around all the time contaminating everything and bugging him.

I think my beanie is telling me that they had renters in the house until recently.

Sylvia and Judy, it probable then that Beto was doing both. That would be our Beto.

Julia, which one is Serena? I've been watching Tormenta off and on, but not sure if remember a Serena. Those must be the parts I've missed. I know Eliseo is paralyzed, Jose Miguel on Maura's side. Maura got Eliseo to sign over Paraiso. A couple with 9 lives are Eliseo Bravo and Jose Miguel's mom. They've both been down numerous times with their bad hearts, etc. I do want to see the end of Tormenta. Not sure if I've ever wanted to see anyone taken down more than I want to see Maura and Luisa taken down. I just can't stand their self satisfied smirks. Someone has to wipe them off their faces. Man, can't stand them. It is interesting, I can't stand Luisa's (Jacqui on Gancho) smirks, but love them on Gancho. I guess when they are on the good side, it is ok to smirk. :) LOL
Have they announced a date for the Final yet? Should be only about another week.
I want to see them taken down even more than Hissy. Just to happy with the trouble they cause, gleeful even. :)

Julia, one of the few disappointments of this show for me has been the way the character of Lobo was handled. I really like the actor and when Lobo was first introduced I really liked him. I don't mind so much that they made him turn out to be a bad guy, but they really didn't develop the character. I'm not sure what the purpose of having him was unless they knew that you'd be watching and wanted to give you a little treat. They allowed him to be humiliated, then sacked up an carted away. Not fair.

Carlos

Serena is Lisandro's wife. She went to the doctor thinking she was pregnant, and found out instead that she has An Incurable Illness (if the doctor said what it is, I didn't catch it). The doc was kind of all, well, that's that, nothing to be done, but Lisandro is of course insisting that they will find a way to save her.

I just can't figure out why they would throw in something like this so close to the end. As far as I know Lisandro doesn't have some other True Love waiting in the wings, and the doctor didn't suggest a marrow transfusion or anything that would suggest they will find out something new about family relationships.

What other reasons could there possibly be for a serious illness? Is Penelope going to cure her? Aymar, with her mad lab skills?

Julia, ok, her. I think her name is Celina. She was also Mabel on CS and Carlos was somewhat enamored with her. Anyway..
Yeah, I saw that the other day. Thought somewhat the same thing, que? Seem to remember that doctor was somewhat of a jerk. Haven't seen much of her since then. Think she did come up behind when Maura was trying to put some moves on Lisandro and chased her away. Looks like another job for Aymar's miracle cures. Perhaps Penelope.

Oh, Celina. I guess I am worse with names than I thought.

Anyway, it was sort of fun when Nicolas was strangling Maura. I, too, am dying to see Maura and Luisa get those smarmy smirks blasted off. Those poor children are going to be in therapy forever, now that Maura is in the house.

I wonder whether we'll see any more of El Lobo, Carlos. His time was short but I thought he managed to run through a range of emotions and stick his finger in a lot of plot pies. I don't mind that he was villainous but for a villain he sure gave up easily...unlike Isabel, who will no doubt still be spouting her man-hating lines to her bunkmate Oski in her fiery hereafter.

Sorry to continue the OT Tormenta comments..
Julia, yeah, just watching Tormenta off and on and missing things, but what happened there? I remember Nicolas tying up Maura and choking her, but didn't see what happened after that. I see she did get away as she was causing trouble again toda. Besides Maura and Luisa, their lawyer, whatever his name is, needs the smarmy smirk wiped from him as well. Don't know if you've seen any Dinero at all, but Claudia from there is Nicolas' lawyer on Tormenta. Brunette instead of the bleached blonde on Dinero.

About Lobo, did we actually see anyone haul Lobo away? Or is he still loose somewhere? Seems like everyone wandered away without him being locked up. :)

Only a couple of hours left. Are the last two days going to only be an hour each day and the same time as usual? I want to verify that as I have to head out of town tomorrow and want to make sure I record both shows.

Continuing OT:
Nicolas took Maura to his office (I think to get her away from the house and everyone there) and was choking her, but Aymar saw them leave and followed them and stopped Nic from killing her, saying he was a good person and it was beneath him; Maura would get hers some other way. So then they just walked off and left Maura sitting there in Nicolas's office, which seems dangerous, but apparently she just left to stir up trouble elsewhere.

If possible, I hate that greasy raspy guy even more than I hate Maura and Luisa.

Cristian sent the troops in to fetch Lobo, but since we didn't see them apprehend him who knows what happened? I wonder who's working security at GS these days.

Maybe Alejandra saw Lobo and is giving him her "you need a real woman" spiel and he can't get away.

Alejandra and Lobo? Why not? Pairing a girl slut and a boy slut makes sense. She needs a ligation and he needs a snip job first, though, lest they spawn.

Greasy, raspy guy, you must mean Isaac? Karina's supposed tio? Yeah, he's pretty much always a bad guy. Seems to be somewhat better in this one. Haven't quite figured out how much to trust him. Seems to be against Maura, but has helped her before as well. Definitely would feel the need for a bath if I got near him. :)

Thanks team Gancho for this recap. It was a great team effort. I hope to catch up on the conversation later tonight.

Yes, Groupo Sermeño security was left in charge of the very subdued Lobo until the constabulary arrived.

Jeff, I believe that CS would not have taken a nosedive in ratings had they kept Mabel on board a little longer. She is clearly very talented.

Mike, it's been a while since I performed either one of those procedures, but I would do both... gratis... for the good of the species.
