Corazón Salvaje 05/12/10: Eusabio Jumps the Shark
debacle with the twins in the anteroom. He instructs Gabriel to
remain, but that he needs to be alone and will explain later. At the
cave, Juan mulls over the two twins and marvels wistfully how he has
never known anyone like Regina. She'd do anything for the man she
loves!
Aimee returns to the party and claims to Renato she visited the powder
room. When asked what happened in her absence, Renato says he will
explain later and exits in search of Regina. Across the room Gabriel
hawks Jimena, dancing with Branko as the entertainment's main
attraction. She and Gabriel exchange numerous speculative and probing
glances.
In another corner, Rodrigo simmers noxiously over Juan pursuing him
everywhere, even as Leonarda attempts to hold off the boil due to
Rodrigo's delicate health. And Eloísa grasps the dancing applause to
mask a saunter to sidle up to Federico and hold his hand. Federico
doesn't permit the handclasp long, but long enough for Servando to get
a fascinated eyeful.
With palm reading as the final act, Griselda makes a beeline for
Rodrigo and Leonarda, to Leonarda's delight. Griselda is surprised to
realize that Rodrigo is her gentleman and reads with heavy portent
that Rodrigo is a very lucky man. A great woman appears in his
destiny, one ready to do anything for him.
Her name is etched by fire in his soul and only he can recognize her.
Leonarda blushes. Flattering Leonarda by reading in her palm how good
and noble she is, Griselda stacks their two hands together and
declares they are a lucky pair, bound to each other from the past much
more than people know. Noel, standing nearby, has not missed a
pregnant moment.
Gabriel retrieves Jimena from the dance floor to sullenly congratulate
her on dancing beautifully. His real interest seems to be Branko and
what he's doing there. Jimena explains he just arrived from globe
trotting, upon which Gabriel observes cynically they sure seem cozy
for just having met.
She admits she likes Branko and they developed a nice friendship. And
what's more, Jimena points out, Branko treats her with respect, unlike
any other man she's known. Gabriel mulls this over silently while the
camera pans to Branko watching them pensively, who then gathers her up
when the gypsy troop exits. Gabriel does not look happy.
At the casino, the girlz bemoan the sorry state of manhood -- like
that Federico Martín del Campo -- while Phillip defends his gender.
Marlene enters and counsels Lulu that some men are good, but the rest
are "all alike" and will take advantage of any little error they make.
Lulu is distraught with guilt over her visit to Federico's and the
ensuing disaster, but swears she stole nothing! Marlene believes her
and forgives her; they are like her daughters and they stick together
to survive and to put up a happy front for the public, who expects it.
Renato finds Regina and takes her aside to gently rebuke her for not
telling him about herself and Juan; but Regina instead mystifies him
further by denying it and claiming the truth is something else
entirely -- she had to do it to protect someone she loves. She'd
sooner suffer condemnation of others rather than defend herself.
That night, dreaming in his bed and looking handsome, Gabriel kisses
Estrella and hears her tell him to find someone else to make him happy
-- when the apparition turns suddenly into Jimena in his arms.
Jimena? he calls. Gabriel bolts upright and awake, with Jimena's name
on his lips wonderingly. Finally, he smiles in dawning relief and
understanding.
Next morning, in the light of day, however, his old doubts return.
She's a gypsy! He can't set his sights on her! He's just chewing
this over again when suddenly Jacinta rushes in and exclaims that
Pedro, Eusabio and Santos went fishing and never returned. She's
beside herself with fear and needs to find Juan right away. They exit
to gather the boyz and find Juan.
Out in the fields, Renato now braces Juan with his quandary -- is
Regina the one Juan demanded to see at the wedding? But Juan won't
satisfy him either and explains enigmatically that one day he'll see
that things aren't as they appear and that looks can be deceiving --
but the worst is when love lies.
Next Noel even corners Regina to counsel her, but he is sweetly
concerned. He wants to hear her side of the story. Regina has
already trusted him with many details of her love and sacrifice to see
Renato happy, but she can only explain that circumstances forced her
to play up to Juan. When Noel points out that nevertheless actions
can bring one down, Regina insists her conscience is clear.
In the finca office, Leonarda is now happy to agree with Aimee that
Regina is a bad act -- but the worst is Leonarda can't tattle to
Rodrigo due to his rage perhaps killing him. Aimee reassures Leonarda
she needn't tell him -- just get Regina married off to Federico and at
a distance from the farm as soon as possible.
Out on a "faraway" desert isle probably about 50 yards from the
regular beach shack, Eusabio tries to get Santos interested in
"surviving" by reconnoitering for a nice, cold coconut milk; but
Santos can only think of what might have happened to poor Pedro, who
may have washed up on another "faraway" desert isle. Meanwhile, back
at the finca, Gabriel gallops up to inform Remigio about the missing
fisherman and they exit to seek out Juan immediately.
At a jeweler's, Rodrigo and Federico scope out a fat diamond
engagement ring for Regina; but Rodrigo is rather nonplussed to
discover that Federico once again is out of funds and supposedly
awaiting some from Spain. Rodrigo longsufferingly accepts to buy the
diamond and let Federico repay him when the time comes.
Hoping to wring out an admission of guilt, in the finca office,
Leonarda berates Regina over her behavior with Juan, but is
unsuccessful. Instead Regina leaves Leonarda speechless by declaring
she hopes to God that Leonarda never finds out what made her act that
way. Were she to, she'd more likely be asking forgiveness on bended
knee!
Regina flees the office, and Clemencia finds her on the staircase
landing, weeping piteously. Regina grasps at Clemencia like a life
raft -- the only person who seems to understand. She'd rather
everyone think she's an evil woman than Renato learn Aimee is Juan's
lover!
Down in the catacombs, Rosenda skulks the dark passageways with only a
tiny candle flame in hand, knocking on walls and probing nooks to find
where Arcadio might stash his cache of Leonarda's jewels. Focused on
the prize, she gets much more than she bargained for, however -- when
a black-veiled ghost rounds a bend and peers at her, frightening the
wits out of Rosenda. All this to tibia-bones-on-skulls music.
At the gypsy camp, Servando tosses Branko his split from the gig last
night, noting Branko could make a bundle dancing with Jimena around
town. When Branko frankly confesses he really likes Jimena a lot,
Servando informs him that unfortunately another guy has his eye on her
-- a guy with a good future.
Back at the catacombs, of course, María del Rosario had simply let
herself out of her cell in the usual way and went prowling around to
find the room where she thought she saw Juan de Díos. Rummaging in
the drawers there, she happens upon and absconds with the damning
blackmail letter which Arcadio holds over Leonarda's head for
poisoning the twins' mother, Constanza.
The embarrassing appointment at the jeweler's didn't enhance
Federico's mood for his visit to wring money out of Fifi and Marlene
at the casino. He is especially rude, and observes if they denounce
him to the cops, he'll do the same. Marlene will give him his money;
but they repeat he gave them an entire day, and that means they have
until 2:00 in the morning.
Federico accedes to return then -- but if they don't have it he'll
take the casino! Phillip objects the casino is worth a fortune! Pay
him or lose it, Federico insists and exits. Marlene sinks into the
upholstery, ruing how she never thought her return to Veracruz would
end up like this. Fifi runs after Federico and attempts to explain
through tears about the man who broke in through the patio, but
Federico laughs in her face at this ridiculous tale.
Jimena pounds the laundry at the river when Branko appears and
startles her; he wastes no time and asks outright about his rival,
since Branko is definitely interested in Jimena. Jimena denies
Gabriel is in love with her; he's in love with another woman. But
Jimena regretfully admits she is in love with him. Upon learning
this, Branko earnestly warns Jimena about getting involved outside
their kind; a white man will spurn her for being a gypsy. Jimena
turns away, dispirited again.
In bed together up in the dressmaker's hideaway, Eloísa is upset to
learn Federico frankly plans to marry Regina. When asked, Eloísa
admits she would never think of leaving Fulgencio's money -- and
Federico chuckles and demonstrates he also must look out for his
financial future. Eloísa is relieved to hear Federico plans to
continue funny business as usual after his marriage. She makes him
swear to never leave her, and he does.
At the sheriff's office, he's pleased to hear no good news about the
fishermen. And on the supposed desert island, the two remaining boyz
have fashioned a raft with provisions to set forth for home and on a
search for Pedro. Meanwhile, Juan has the erstwhile pirates ganged up
and setting sail on the Luzbel to search high and low until they find
their friends.
Down in the catacombs, María del Rosario absconds with the blackmail
letter and happens upon Constanza's treasure chest; she also uncovers
there with glee an actual baby doll, so she's coming up in the fantasy
world. She'll be at Juan before we know it; oh, not really. Anyway,
at a sudden noise, she hides the letter inside the baby doll.
Upstairs, Arcadio is livid when a terrified Rosenda approaches him
about her vision in the basement; she's so upset, she just spills the
whole premise of why she was down there -- to look for his jewel
cache. I guess she's right, because predictably he doesn't give a
whit about the jewels. He just screams at her to stay out of the
damned basement!
In their apartment, Aimee thinks for once Renato should now believe
her story about Regina and Juan; but no luck. They both denied it,
and he trusts each of them more than he trusts his own eyes or wife
apparently. In fact, he says, if it turned out to be true; so what --
he'd back them up.
Out on the high seas, Juan and the weekend warriors search for their
fisher friends. Meanwhile, Santos and Eusabio have launched their
rickety reed raft -- and of course, Eusabio manages to find a way to
plunge into the depths, where vicious, hungry sharks lurk and circle.
In the previews: Arcadio finds that his blackmail letter has
disappeared and assumes Rosenda took it; Gabriel looks green-eyed
daggers at Branko and Jimena dancing in town -- and then attacks
Branko to make him unhand her; and finally, Noel astounds Renato by
admitting there is a big secret that will be revealed at the proper
time.

I love the title. :-)
Gallery:
A few pictures of the Gypsy Prince, and I have more.
(Team Gabriel, but Branko's cute, too.)
So is this Televisa's way of telling us the show really is dead? XD
(My alternate title: Interested sharks are...not all that interested, aksually.)
Out on a "faraway" desert isle probably about 50 yards from the regular beach shack
You know those comedy bits where people think they're stranded on a deserted island, and it turns out there's a resort or something on the other side? Yea. That's what I keep imagining now.
If Federico had half a brain in his head instead of putting it all in his pants - He knows Rod's house was broken into already; he ought to be telling Rod, "Hey, someone hit my place, too! Maybe it was the same person?" Having had a ho-over would never even have to come into it that way. Sure, nothing was stolen from Rod's, but let's face it, we're not talking about a crowd that can put two and two together - or take 'em back apart.
Oh, well. He's doomed anyway, now that Servando's gotten a good look at where Eloisa's peddling her goods.
Speaking of Servando: Every time I look at him, I think of this guy.
Hn... So now Rosenda's seen Ar-cash-io's Woman in Black, but he didn't bother to feed her the wife line ('course, she's in a position to already know better than to believe it). Someone else who can give Juan a nice, "Arcadio's wife wut?" if it ever comes up?
No previews again! But now I'm going to have to wriggle with anticipation just contemplating an upper-class asshat/gypsy-prince showdown.
Aribeth... Team Gabriel... I'm laughing and crying at once. Do we get T-shirts and pillowcases to show our respectively-supportive love? XD
(Today's verification word: 'Prone'. Yes, if all goes well, someone probably will be!)
Someone needs to knock Rod upside the head. He'd marry his daughter off to a guy who asked him to pay for the ring? Obviously Rod isn't familiar with the old saying, "The check's in the mail."
Aribeth, I am Team Branko. Gabe's just too dumb... Branko knows a good thing when he sees it.
What I want to know is:
How did two guys on a raft in the middle of the ocean without tools of any kind manage to get a coconut open?
When there are sharks circling your raft why would you jump in for a closer look?
How did two guys with no type of architectural degree (like some other castaways we know) build a raft and get it to float? And they didn't wait around for months or years to build it.
Inquiring minds want to know. 8(:P
We had lightning so close all night I had to go and see if one of the trees in the back yard was split open!
Knocked out everything a couple of times. Luckily, it came back after restarts. We've got a big pond in the yard; I feel sure the river's going to be flooding.
Mad Marley and xlntperuvian, I had to laugh, too. Usually I just ignore the 'hood boyz, but I was kind of rooting for the sharks to take them and me out of our misery.
Aribeth, thank you for the pictures! And xlntperuvian, I totally agree with you about Branko's attitude vs. Gabriel's. I love Branko's franko. Gabriel is still cuter, but Branko has got the goods.
Mad Marley, I admit, I am not up on all the animations. But I can't help thinking of "Lopez" from LFMB when I see Servando.
Now that Servando has a steady high-paying job, he seems to be mellowing out; at least Jimena seems safe for the moment.

If you change megaupload to megavideo, you won't have to download it, you'll be able to watch it online. (I learnt this trick a few days ago. :-))

Here are the download/video links, but be careful, there're SPOILERS everywhere, especially on the pictures.

The idea of "Team Gabriel" (Team Juan, Remigio, Doctorcito, Rodrigo *NO!*, and so on :-)) came from youtube, there was a strong, lovely Team Renato club there while the show was running in Mexico. Most of the members were CS93 fans, who hated Juan-An-Empty-Skull and/or were disappointed with him, and found Bomboncito Renatonto much more attractive and bearable. And it was some kind of protestation against the show.
I've posted this comment on the STuD site also.
I’ve noticed there’s a shortage of recapers. My only experience as one was in the telenovel-world forum with EL rostro de Analia once a week. I’m a follower of your blog since the Alborada days before it was called Caray Caray. I always read, but don’t comment much. I’ve never volunteered for the recaps because I work two jobs. I record the episodes and usually catch up on weekends. Plus, sometimes I get bored of all the nonsense and stop watching.
All this rambling and I haven’t gotten anywhere.
Any way…
I won’t volunteer for CS2009 because the only day I might be able to do is Friday and that’s already taken. I’ll volunteer for soy tu duena. I noticed Friday is taken also, but I could do Thursday.
I’ll need a crash course on what needs to be done to post the recaps on the page. Please, bear in mind I’m not a professional recaper as you all are.
Thanks,
Sue
So...I'm wondering if Federico will be able to get the casino from Marlene.
I was thinking Marlene could get ready cash from Juan, but now Juan is out of touch on the high seas.
It kind of looks like they were saving this stupid shark trick just so Marlene couldn't get with Juan.
She and the girlz have until 2:00 a.m. and then they are out on the street.
Jeri, could not wait to read this! You were once again in your element! Sharp, witty and insightful. A terrific recap. So many great lines including "numerous speculative and probing glances" and "Rodrigo simmers noxiously over Juan... as Leonarda attempts to hold off the boil". Excellent!
Branko reminds me of Gabe in ENDA. Sweet, cute but as Paloma chose Emiliano, Jimena will choose Gabe.
Rosenda is usually pretty savvy but she was in the wrong place at the wrong time last night. Arcadio has warned her off several times but she just didn't listen. That letter was his hold over Leo and he will be desperate to retrieve it.
I don't think Marlene and the girls came up with any plan to repay Fed or did I miss that?
Diana
Add me to the list who are concerned about Madame and her girls. I just want Fred the fop to be exposed for the fraud he is.
Connie, glad to hear your son is coming home. Peace.
I thought today was Friday & I was ready to warm up the blender. Imagine my disappointment when the fog lifted & I have to wait one more day. Oh, the inhumanity.
Maggarita

La Paloma
Connie, I'd like to see Juan scare off Federico again, too; it will certainly come to that at some point, if Juan gets interested in the available twin and Federico insists on trying to marry her.
I just don't know if Juan will get back from sea soon enough to help Marlene. I am worried about them. It would be a travesty for Federico to get the casino.
But on the other hand, if Rodrigo learned Federico owned the casino, he wouldn't think of him as marriage material anymore, would he?
Diana, I do wonder, too, how seeing the black-veiled woman is going to tip Rosenda's balance of power. She has no idea who she is; maybe she will be told the insane-wife tale, too.
Obviously, they cracked them open on each others' heads.
Jeri - Character-wise, there's no comparison between Servando and 'The Monarch' anyway (being as Servando's more-or-less competent), so you're not missing anything there. It's just those eyebrows...
Aribeth, now that I think about it, I seem to recall there was a Team Luis back in the Alborada days, too. We've just been so inundated by Twilight junk around here that that was the first thing that came to mind. Hence the crying. ;D
I was thinking Marlene might go to Juan for help myself, but... Yep.
If Marlene can't go to Juan for help, I wonder if she'd ask Noel? He seems to enjoy the casino (gets him away from Leona).
Aribeth...Renatonto. LOL. I love CdLF but as Renato, he does always have that befuddled look on his face ( where did I put my keys, was that fish bad, I need more fiber look.) But then, he is surrounded by lies and secrets.
Rod and the Fopster can't have their downfalls soon enough...I'm waiting for those big anvils to fall.
I agree with Mad Marley. If I have to stay up until midnight to watch C S, the least Uni can do for me, is let me see the promos for the next episode. I don't think anyone is dying for Amar Sin Limites to start pronto.
Connie, I am glad your son has safely returned and please express to him my sincere gratitude for his bravely serving our country.
GinCA
Rodrigo is somewhat fastidious in the Victorian way: if it is known that Federico owns a casino/brothel, it would ruin his reputation.
Noel could probably furnish Marlene the amount of money that was stolen from the box; I am wondering if Lulu is close enough to him to acquire it or if Marlene would ask him.
But if it's a lot of money, then it might require the galan's fortune, which as we all know is always bigger than anybody's.
GinCA, thank you. :-) The sun came out for a while, but now it's clouding over again.
"...where did I put my keys, was that fish bad, I need more fiber look..." LOL
