Corazon Salvaje June 17, Juan, don't fprget to burn her nun clothes

Regina all pretty and refreshed is out on the deck, shyly alternating between watching the view out there and the view next to her. She thanks Juan for all the things he got her. He makes a crack about her robes calling them “trapos” (rags), and I couldn’t agree more. “How pretty you look like that.” Yes she does and she remarks on how comfortable it is too so I’m guessing the corset isn’t that bad.

He mentions Renato, looking for confrontation, obviously. He cannot have a nice conversation without ruining it and Regina tells him so. Didn’t he just ask her not to say anything to not ruin the moment and he goes ahead and does it. Silly man. Curtly she bids him good night and turns away. Juan starts arguing with God, telling him she is a Montes de Oca and just like her sister. Yes and you are a hard headed moron.

Poor Gabriel is walking all decked out in his tuxedo, morosely beating himself over the head with Jimena’s latest revelation. Jimena runs after him in the dark alleyway screaming sorry. He is bitter, asking her if she’s going to tell him how much she enjoyed his suffering. Well, that’s a bit much. She does look so much like Lulu right now. “I’ve been such an idiot in love and I didn’t see what was in front of me.” “My intention was never to betray you.” “Well, you did. I never want to see you again.” Oh crap. She claims to love him but he tells her he never wants to see her again. Poignantly the background song says, “You are not the person that I believed you to be, that I thought that you were, that I trusted…”

In the meantime at De Marin’s house Leo complains about how rude it was for Jimena and Gabriel to argue in front of them. What a snotty uppity mummy. Noel loudly proclaims she only speaks like that because she doesn’t understand matters of the heart. Haha. Mariella materializes at the door agrees -not with his assessment of Leo, although I’m sure everyone does- but about love. They are introduced. Wheeeee, Noel and Mariella sitting on a tree. “I suppose you are not only a defender of love but also of the law.” Yip, yip, hooray. He kisses her hand and she looks down demurely. I was wondering about these two. Leo looks disgusted and I couldn’t be happier.

Emo, heartbroken Gabriel cries and sits under the rain in the caves of sin. “Why did you lie to me Jimena. Why?” He is also barefoot but didn’t take off his several coats. Ooook.

Jimena changed out of her blanco clothes and is weeping. “Why didn’t you listen to me Gabriel.” They have kisses flashbacks, including the ones with Estrella. She bids him farewell. “I am nothing much but a damned gitana. I must live with my people, like it or not.” Ugh. Stupid decision. Please don’t do that.

Regina contemplates the fact Juan has got something that really affects her. Teheee… Colibri chooses that moment to barge in jumping and singing, charming her pants off. He asks her if she needs anything and she requests him tell her where they are going. He says he doesn’t know and that it doesn’t matter because they trust him with their lives. Regina looks shocked and then smiles.

Noel is back home and Renato is smoking and drinking. “You cannot and should not continue with this attitude and behavior.” Well, duh. “You are just filling your soul with resentment, hate.”

Aimee wonders if Regina is now enjoying Juan’s caresses and kisses. She grabs pillows and throws them around in a rage. “You are mine Juan, only mine.” Then maybe you should have been a bit less of an opportunistic ho.

Regina wonders, why do you trust Juan so much? Juan irrupts worried about Colibri because he couldn’t find him. Colibri says he was with his capitana. Awww too cute. Juan smiels despite himself.

Renato says he has no motivation to be happy or in peace. Poor guy. Noel, speaking from bitter experience, tells him that his son (or daughter?) needs to be a sign from God to change. Renato says he had always dreamed of this moment, having a son, but now it has all changed. I even decorated the room for our firstborn. “You most of anyone know of my life with your mother. But I gathered strength from your birth.” Awww. There’s a tender but extremely depressing moment between father and son. This is so sad and Renato showed me a glimmer of the man he used to be.

Luzbel, Juan is taking off his shirt in their room. Regina is outraged. “What are you doing?” What does it look like Regina, teheee. Shirtless he puts down the curtains and keeps undressing, but his shadow is clearly seen through the thin barrier. Might as well be no barrier. It’s probably even sexier this way. She is holding up her shawl to her eyes but peaking ever so often.

“Jeez, every time I want to change I need to think about changing on this side.” Haha. “Where are we going?” Regina asks. “Everywhere and anywhere.” He asks her if he likes her life as a sailor’s wife. They argue about not really being married. She wants to stay at the first Puerto. She trips and he holds her up. They are looking so cute with matching headbands. Hehe. He gets serious and tells her that he is sorry she is paying for everyone else’s errors. I’m telling you, BIPOLAR!

Jimena is back at the camp, the little idiot. Zalma lets her know Branco is mad at her. Duh! Zalma pretends to be concerned for her but Jimena won’t have it. She says she isn’t afraid of anything. Why couldn’t she stay with Mariella? Does she think she will be allowed back and forth now that she is back? Salma turns around to leave but Jimena stops her. “How exactly could you help me?” Oh you stupid girl.

A bandaged Rosenda is pleading to Clemencia: “You told me we worked in the same house. Tell me who is the father of my child. Please.” Clemencia and Marlene don’t tell her saying she needs to wait until she remembers. Let’s hope she never does.

Rod shows up at the casino and Floppy is taken aback. “How strange that you are back.” “Why is it strange? I am a client like any other.” I guess he doesn’t know he has his money back now. Fifi asks him why did he let Rod in. “What did you expect me to do, to kick him out? Impossible. Be careful you specially. You never know what he is capable of.”

Renato, the poor dear, gets up from his drinking spot. What is he going to do now>

Dumb cheating wife is trying to appease Fulgencio’s new suspicions and it’s just making it worse. “How can you ever think, just because of what that gypsy said, that I would ever betray you!” She is almost trembling. Fulgencio grabs her. “I would never doubt you.” He wonders, “Why did she mention the weapons, I am sure Servando mentioned something.” Oh crap, he doesn’t believe in fortune telling lol.

Zalma invites Jimena over to her tent and she is suspicious. Just as she is saying she can probably expect anything form her, she is grabbed from behind and a cloth is put over her mouth and nose. Griselda and Zalma stand over her as she’s passed out on the floor. Zalma pays her and Griselda promises she will take Jimena to sell her in another town and will throw her clothes into the river so it looks like she drowned. Charming “aunt”.

Doctorcito and Marlene chat about Regina’s return to health and the possibility of Rosenda getting back her memories. He sends her to bed while he “looks after her”.

At the casino Fed approaches Rod and apologizes to him. “You lied to me. You wanted to get married to Regina only for your inheritance.” Awww, because you are such an innocent little dove and you never told a lie.

Oh my goodness, Renato enters the casino and is already drunk while ordering yet more liquor. Foppy tries to stop him from getting more and gets mocked. He is running around being ridiculous. It’s hilarious. He enrages some poker players and goes up to thee stage to dance with the girls. He punches Foppy out when he tries to get him off the stage. Poor guy is always getting the bad end of the stick in that casino. Rod orders him to go home.

Back in Luzbel they are sailing north. They are stopping at Saba Island and this seems to be a good thing. Regina is wearing another lovely outfit, this time with a black corset and a white veil. She looks even prettier than last night. Colibri informs her that they are going to stop at the island. She asks him to send a letter to her and he looks hesitant.

Woody wakes up Renato and scolds him. He opens all the curtains and orders him to get downstairs to talk.

Regina is writing a letter to Clemencia. She informs her that Juan has treated her with respect and that she is well. She sends her all her love. Sweet and short. She hands it to Colibri. “Please don’t let no one see it.” “Yes my capitana.” How cute is Colibri.

Juan is shaving with a knife, everyone is getting ready. Colibri hides the letter so well Juan sees it right away. Juan is curious about who the letter is for. He thinks it’s for Renato so he can come rescue her. “She’s just like her sister.” What’s up with this whole he’s just like her sister thing.

Renato is dressed and combed and has a hell of a hangover. Woody scolds and nags. “What do you need to return to the guy you used to be?” “My soul is rendered asunder by hate, betrayal. I want to destroy Juan.” Of course Rod wants to help him out.

Renato and Rodrigo come to the alguacil to try and accuse Juan of anything. However, doctorcito sent a telegram stating how well Regina is doing so there is nothing to do for now.

Regina and Juan meet up in the deck. She tells him that she understands him, that he’s suffered so much. “I want to return to the convent, please let me go.” He drags her to a mirror and tells her how pretty she looks as a regular woman, not a nun. “I want you to be free, not locked up in that horrible place. I would even say you are more beautiful than your sister. I just want you to live, I promise you I won’t do anything to you.” Then he asks her if its Renato she can’t live without and she swallows.

Good morning Sara. Your style is so distinctive, I didn't even need to look at the sidebar to know who was writing.

Some of my favorites:

Regina being town between "the vew out there and the view next to her."

"oh crap"

"oook"

"I'm telling you, BIPOLAR."

So funny. Sounds like the viewers are having a real treat with the chemistry between Juan and Regina. Still have to question Univision's decision to relegate this to the midnight hour.

Muchas gracias.

Thanks for the great recap Sarah. I got up to watch this this morning and the stupid DVR didn't record it--again. Argh! So now I'm 2 episodes behind.

I agree with JudyB that Corazon Salvaje shouldn't have been moved to the midnight time slot.
It was funny and sweet watching Regina try not to watch Juan, but really now, who could blame her for wanting to eyeball a muy guapo hombre. I've seen YouTube of EY when he was younger and he was good looking. But with age comes a maturity that is indeed quite handsome. The relationship between Juan and Regina is inevitable since he was charmed by her on the boat.
I cried with Gabe and Jimena - so very sad. Both are being idiots right now and Gabriel not being able to forgive stinks. Let's hope it gets better before it gets worse.
Unfortunately, Renato aligning himself with Rodrigo means the worst is yet to come. Renato wants vengeance, not just for Aimee but, I believe, for Regina also. When he finds the diary, all hell will break loose. Renato has had a charmed life and now that things are going his way, he has no coping skills. He is, in many ways, childish, thinking the world revolves around him. He'll get his comeupance, that's for sure.
Thanks for the recap Sarah.

Thanks, Sarah. Thanks also to Jeri for yesterday's recap. I planned to stay up to watch the show last night, but I fell asleep. Luckily, I recorded it. It's going to be fun watching Reggie melt. She looks cute in her new clothes..kind of gypsyish. Juan and Reggie's matching headscarves are a trip. Juan is a fine seasoned hombre. As for Renato...It must suck to be you, Dude. By the way, with Ren devoting his days to drinking and sulking and Arcadio combing the area for MdR, who's taking care of business on the finca ????? I'm just saying. A finca does not run itself.

Thank you, Sarah! I haven't watched the episode yet, so I will be back...

Thanks, Sarah!

Thanks for the recap, Sarah. I enjoy your sense of humor. Yes, Juan is bipolar but when he is sweet, he's very dangerous. Regina may soon find out why he affects her so much (and more than Renato ever did).

BarbaraM - ITA with your assessment of Renato; he is childish and aligning himself with Rod is doom.

Susanlynn - LOL, yes how is running the finca?!!

Sarah, I tagged your recap for the sidebar so readers can find it there.

Excellent recap. Regina's "...view next to her" indeed! And what a view.

I was expecting them to have Mariela show up looking a bit more glamorous than she has been, and I wasn't disappointed.

When Noel gave her the interested, raised eyebrow in front of Leonarda I literally gave two thumbs up! Let's see Leonarda try to make hay over that; I'm sure she'll try.

Despite him feeling wretched, I thought Gabriel looked fetching sitting in the rain at the beach cliffs in his formal suit -- with his bare feet. I really don't see enough of him. I liked his bathtub scene way back.

Well, let me go ahead and faint here at sexy Lalo, changing clothes behind the sheets. What a man.

Sure enough, as I said yesterday, Fulgencio doesn't believe in fortune telling and thinks Jimena actually knows something about the arms deals via Servando.

Now that Griselda is going to spirit Jimena away, though, I guess only Servando will come under Fulgencio's knife. At least that much good might come of Griselda leaving town with her.

Gawd, I was LOL at Renato in the casino (up until he viciously clocked poor Phillip), especially the part where he reads everybody's poker hands aloud.

Christián did a good job; it's nice he gets to do something different than be amenable lately.

It kind of ticks me off that the law is taking all of the Aldama fortune away from Juan; but I guess he deserves it for the actual lawless pirating he did, even if the ships and goods belonged to unjust people.

Can't have the hero be a law breaker; and he'll get half the plantation anyway.

Karen, you are so right. It's the opposite of Mae West: when Juan is bad, he's very good; but when he's good, he's excellent! ;-)

Susanlynn, I think Leonarda always runs the finca, no matter who is at the helm. She did it all the time since we've known her, long before Renato was even born.

Say what one wants about Leonarda, but she is a capable woman. She's kept her finger on the pulse, even since Renato took over, always ready to counsel him.

He usually doesn't agree, but she's watching. Now that he gave Arcadio is job back, it's pretty much business as it always was, I think.

Continuing the conversation from yesterday...
Jeri, the ratings of the 8 p.m. timeslot are:

Nunca te olvidaré - 31,7
La fea más bella - 31,3
Camila - 29
Amarte es mi pecado - 25,9
Así son ellas - 25
Laberintos de pasión - 24,9
Por un beso - 24,6
Por tu amor - 24,1
La intrusa - 24
Apuesta por un amor - 23,1
Nina amada mia - 23,1
Barrera de amor - 22,9
Rubí - 22,8
La otra - 22,3
Siempre te amaré - 22,3
Contra viento y marea - 22
Mujer bonita - 20,8
Salomé - 20,8
Velo de novia - 18,7

(1998-2007)
+1 HQEDNS had 25,7 points, that's an official information

"What about Apuesta Por Amor? I heard it didn't do that well"

It seems Apuesta had decent ratings, better than Rubí or my beloved La otra. :)

"Also: do you show "Angela?" (Castro) That's one of my all-time faves."

Ángela aired at 5 p.m. and it gained 22.3 points. I think it's great, considering that it was broadcasted in a marginal timeslot. La mentira had the best ratings at 5 o'clock (28,7), and Tres mujeres is the second with 22,7 points.

Thank you Sarah, what a fun recap! Bipolar Juan, he changes almost from minute to minute sometimes. Emo Gabriel!

I just love this show - Renato dancing with the Can Can'ts, hilarious! They do manage to put humor into it even with all the drama.

Yes Mariella and Noel, that was sweet, and it was great that he showed no hesitation in front of Leo. She was basically there with Rod anyway, but did look sour when Noel did that - ha!

Oh, Jimena, really, really estupida is right.

Thank you, Aribeth! I'm making notes of the lists. Very interesting.

La Otra had a mid-afternoon time slot first run here, and I liked it right away, even though people seemed to be slighting it at first. They have since learned better. ;-)

Thanks for a very fun recap Sarah! I am enjoying this show so much, except for the Gabe & Jimena storyline. I am beyond tired of that and I just don't care anymore. It's a good thing Gabe is somewhat handsome because he sure doesn't have a brain.

That scene of Juan changing behind the sheet curtains then appearing in those flimsy cotton pj bottoms. Oh. My. Gawww-d. Suddenly the room got so hot... Regina must have ice water in her veins...

Loved Noel kissing Mariela's hand. He's sure to get an earful from Leo, but at this point it's just background noise to him anyway. Go Noel!

Hello Sarah,Thanks for a fun filled recap. Thanks Jeri also for yesterday's recap. It was funny but couldn't comment due to an unbelievable workload. Thanks a million for the recaps.
The chemistry between Jaun and Regina is really building up. The way she kept sneaking a peek at his body was so natural and actually sexy. Most nude scenes don't leave much to the imagination, but this was very tastefully done.We barely saw a thing.Great..Why is Gabie so upset with Jemina? It is not her fault if he is not very observant. Remember her kisses and forgive her already.Teenager!! Handsome one though.
I think Jaun keeps bringing up Renato because he knows how Regina feels about him. Having MDO blood himself,he wants to make sure no one takes what rightfully belongs to him. After all they had taken everything he ever loved.Parents, property, unfaithful lover etc. Can't say I blame the guy.

Hanna

Loved the recap Sarah. I love the chemistry between Juan and Regina. They are absolutely delightful together. Juan is falling for her I love it. I wonder how will Regina answer his question. So Rod and Renato have made an unholy alliance to go after Juan. Renato is really going over to the dark side now. I think Noel has taken quite a liking to Jimena's mother. Speaking of Jimena, I hope the plot to sell her and make everyone think she's dead doesn't work. Who will come to her rescue since Gabe wants nothing more to do with her. This show has gotten so good. I think Uni made a big mistake moving it to midnight. Dumb move Uni.

Xlnt - whew, yes, I forgot to comment on that behind the sheet scene, that was something else, super sexy. And I think Regi noticed, how could she not even if she didn't show it?

Ditto, Gabe handsome, if he only had a brain. He seems to have forgotten he didn't admit to liking Jimena for the longest time because she was a Gitana. It doesn't seem too hard to figure out that might be why she was conflicted about telling him, needing to know if he loved her for herself. Ah well.

Also, really dumb of Eloisa to say anything, the guilty revealing herself. I don't know if she's figured out yet that Fulgencio is not the old fool she thinks he is.

"That scene of Juan changing behind the sheet curtains then appearing in those flimsy cotton pj bottoms. Oh. My. Gawww-d. Suddenly the room got so hot... Regina must have ice water in her veins..." OMG is right xlntperuvian. I needed a glass of water watching that. Whew. Our Juan was so toying with Regina and loving every minute of it.

Funny thing -- I think although Fulgencio is wiley, he still does not suspect Eloísa of anything.

Great recap, Sarah! I was teheeing with ya. :)

also thanks to Ivy, Kat, Jeri, and Connie. I'm not able to read the recaps everyday, but I do eventually get to them. As always, very informative and snarky. This is a great team. :)

The first scene was funny - no matter how much time Tarzan spent in Europe attending good schools, no matter how many women he met, he can't carry a simple conversation with his wife without becoming a complete moron.

The matching scarves are... interesting. They looked like two stunts from a pirate movie. Btw, new gifs: 1 2

My favourite lines:
shyly alternating between watching the view out there and the view next to her

Emo, heartbroken Gabriel cries and sits under the rain in the caves of sin.

“You are mine Juan, only mine.” Then maybe you should have been a bit less of an opportunistic ho.

He gets serious and tells her that he is sorry she is paying for everyone else’s errors. I’m telling you, BIPOLAR!
Do we remember episode 74? "Santa Regina, leave Fed at the altar, don't get married without being in love!" -> two days later: "Marrying without love is bad, but marrying out of spite and vengence is completely all right in my universe. Don't marry Fed, he wants your money. Instead of him marry me, I only want to make you and your family suffer."

Drunken Renato in the casino: PRICELESS

WOW ARIBETH....I can see why everyone's raving about the changing behind the curtain scene. Very discreet but very sexy. Thanks as always, for providing these glimpses of the pivotal moments in the show. You're a treasure.

Sarah, your recap was so much fun to read. This is a very entertaining novela. We've been loyal and now we are enjoying the payoff with some very good acting and an intriguing storyline. I have no idea what will become of Ren and Aimee. We know Rod and Leo must go directly to Hell.

Yes, LOL at Renato doing the CanCan. Too bad he was surly drunk because it was fun seeing him being silly. He's sunk pretty low if he joins the Dark Side with Tio Rod for their on vengance. Not to be mixed up with Juan's vengance.

Poor Emo Gabe and Jimena...what a couple of dunces. He should try to at least listen to Jimena's side. And why is she taking off. She should see this as an opportunity to stay with Mariela since she doesn't know for certain her daughter has been found. But I guess she feels she'll be homeless if the daughter is found. Emo Gabe has improved in his acting since ENDA and is quite handsome in this role. Regarding his bare feet, what was that pink thing on his foot. Mexican TV can be so distracting since everything isn't near perfect as on U S T V.

GinCA

Great recaps.
Can anyone tell me where it's possible to watch "El Privilegio del Amar"? Is on a website somewhere? Or available to rent?
Thanks.

Hanna:
"Having MDO blood himself,he wants to make sure no one takes what rightfully belongs to him. After all they had taken everything he ever loved.Parents, property, unfaithful lover etc. "

Good points.

Judy:
Glad to help! :) Juan standed there like an underwear model, trying to be seducing and cool. Well, he didn't have to try hard.
