Dinero 6/15: Rafa assembles a posse.
The most important thing that happened tonight: Rafa assembled the people he can trust at Auto Siglo, i.e. Pepeto, Dandy, and Jimenez (he mentioned Don Ismael but for some reason he's not in this meeting), and tells them the entire story of Rafa and Ale, up to the present day, including the deal he was forced to make with Marco to keep his mom out of jail: that he tell Ale he did lead her on for personal gain and did try to sell his house as unencumbered.
Jimenez tells them about seeing Marco kissing a "fat, vulgar woman," wondering because that didn't seem like the kind Marco would go for. Rafa tells them how he, too, once saw Marco kissing a woman in a bar, but that time it was a sexy woman. And he has seen Marco several times with [well we know it's Chavez]. He decides he needs to find out who the vulgar woman is and why Marco was kissing her - and also who is the fat old guy Marco hangs with?
Also happening tonight: Marino goes ballistic when Rafa awards the "employee of the month" prize (a huge watch) to Dandy, because Marino is not attending meetings or being a good team player. Beltran backs Medina. There is a toddler/playground tussle of no importance.
And: Marco wants Ale to quit. "I will support her and her family." Chavez chokes with laughter - they have squeezed the hacienda dry. Marco can't believe it. Chavez says he'll need a whiskey when he looks over the balance sheet. True enough! Marco insists that Chavez get more blood from this stone. They blame each other's extravagances for the predicament. But meanwhile, Ale better not quit her job.
Ale has just, in fact, tried to quit her job because (1) she thinks nobody wants her or likes her at Auto Siglo but all bow at the feet of Rafa and (2) she can't stand to be near Rafa. Beltran refuses her resignation; when she insists, he says he won't give her a letter of recommendation and she'll have to go into some other line of work - he won't have her going to the competition the way Rafa did! She's drowning in debt and cries a lot.

Tomorrow: there may be a fleeting tender moment but don't hold your breath.

Since scenes like this have brought in a couple of loyal viewers whose attention was caught "channel surfing" can't complain.
Thanks for the recap Melinama! I love the title - let's hope Rafa and his posse can dig up some dirt on Marco.
Oh, thank goodness Rafa told someone and, even better, more than one person about Marco's devious plans to separate him from Ale. Now if one of them would try to convince Ale to believe Rafa or at least put some doubt in her mind regarding Marco's true nature, that would be a big step forward in ending this misery we have now. But, I won't hold my breath for this either.
Off to try Mi Pecado as I have some time right now since I don't want to do the dishes.

I hope Jimenez can keep his mouth shut, and I hope that Dandy doesn't and enlists Susana to the cause.
Thanks so much Melinama. Enjoy all the family celebrations!
I agree with Vivi. I found tonight's show to be hopeful and also to be heading in the right direction. You go Rafa and round up as big of a "posse" as you can get. I think the reason he didn't have Bebe (don Ismal) at the meeting was he was afraid how he would react to the whole situation with Ale. I think that is what he said.
I love Dandy's character. He really is charming and funny. His showing off the watch was a hoot. I am glad Rafa came down on Marino like he did and put him in his place and that Beltran actually backed Rafa up.
It looks like we are back to our random scenes again. The cops yesterday and today the salon. Whoa that was different,no? Traci I am glad your husband enjoyed it.
Thanks again Melinama and have great fun at the wedding.

Vivi, you put it so well. Hopefully Jimenez can keep his mouth shut and Dandy can't. Did Rafa really deflect the "copularon" question or did the program just break away at that point? I can't remember. I would hope Rafa would tell them it's none of their business however it's conveyed in Spanish.
GinCa, To think I mentioned Ale's dress being short yesterday. Then I saw Ovi and I almost could see her bikini bottom. All I can say is guao. Otra vez, guao!
Melinama, you are the queen of multi-tasking and efficiency, blasting out a recap while celebrating these big, incredibly big family events.
Happy Birthday to your son and wishes for years of happiness and joy for your daughter and her husband-to-be.
Is anyone else totally impressed with the actress playing Ale? She has such a range of emotions. She can go from crying in total misery to smiling/laughing in a blink of an eye. I love when she cries and laughs at the same time. As a Spanish language learner, it is usually easier to understand her than most characters because the gist of the plot carries through her emotions. Although some of her heated discussions with Medina are WAY too fast for me to understand the words.
The first part of the show was interrupted here by the President's address, then for some reason there wasn't any sound for about 20 minutes of the program. I'm embarrassed to say I watched it anyway without the sound (and without captions. Guess I'm a fan. So, this recap came in very handy indeed.
I'm not sure why Rafa rounded up a posse unless it was to fill up time or fill in new viewers. I miss the action-packed-ness of previous episodes.
Mil in NC, who is so very appreciative of all the recappers!
And hi Mil in NC. Wrote you a little note on my Dinero line after the show started. Appreciate your kind words for all of us.
I'm inclined to agree with the hopeful here. It looks as though the roller coaster has finally struggled to another peak and we're poised for another exciting breakneck stretch.
Mil in NC, yesterday you said:
"So far the Spanish I've learned hasn't helped too much - not much opportunity to say "no me toques"
Come to Texas. I'll take you to some places where that and, "¡Suelteme!" will come in very handy.
Carlos
I am glad that Rafa called the meeting with the guys, I think it was because: 1. he needs some one in his corner, 2. I really think that he just had to let his friends know what was going on so that they didn't think that he was really a rat.
He made them swear that they wouldn't say anything, but we will see how long that last. I just hope that with Dandy helping Rafa it doesn't cause problems with Susana, but if it does he may have to confide the truth in her. I think she would be a good addition to the team actually, she would make a good spy. I know that Marco knows her but does Chavez?
OOOHHH, it would really be cool if they could get Marian to help out buy coming on the Marco and having him fall for her and maybe tell her some things, or take her to the hacienda. At this point anything is possible.
I agree that Suzanna should be in on this. I am so glad that Rafa finally inlisted some help.
I also agree with Kat from Alabama that they should get Marian to help set up Marco.
I just don't understand the random showing of her body like that.
As for showing Ovi's body, how can everyone think it's "random"? She told us herself she was in a tanning contest, and we had to judge if she was too fat, here, and here and here. I think that's a very important plot development! Or maybe they're just trying to show her "development". :)
R, I do agree that Ale's a great actress. She often conveys things with her eyes, whereas other characters go way overboard (Jaime and Jimenez are two examples).
Mil, one suggestion for improving your Spanish that worked for another commenter (Paula H) was that she would read the recap first, then watch her taped show. Since she knew what was going to happen, the Spanish was more understandable. Another recommendation was to occasionally try to transcribe a scene, either in Spanish, or to translate it. Although I've also been doing other courses, my watching of telenovelas over the past few years has definitely improved my Spanish.
R, I agree with you. Itati is a wonderful actress. She does all of the emotions so well.
And I agree that it would be a lot of fun to see Susana and Marian join Rafa's posse.
Hombre, thanks for the tips for improving my Spanish. Second viewings, especially when I have an idea of what they are talking about, would certainly help. I think I'll wait for happier times - these crying scenes are hard to watch once!
And Carlos, maybe it's a good thing I can't use my Spanish vocabulary. Didn't think of it that way before!

Thanks Judy and Flores for your, as usual, stellar recaps. Been awhile since I commented.
Glad to see Rafa getting his posse together. Finally a lot of stuff gets out in the air. Get a few more people checking on Marco and maybe we can really start catching him doing things.
I believe there is a scent of hope in the air. :)
I liked how both Dandy and Rafa stood up to Marino. Question though, did Marino actually outsell Dandy?
Quite the swimsuit. I think there would have been pixelating if she would have turned around, perhaps not.
R, agree about Ale/Itati. I hope she shows up in a few more TNs, doing a great job.
Carlos, I don't think I would want to go any place where I have to use "no me toques" or "¡Suelteme!" would come in handy.
Kat, I don't see Marian falling for Marco. I think they said she is supposed to be too much of a 'naco' lover. In the immediate future, I see Marian trying to latch onto Rafa. Marian definitely would be an asset to Rafa to use her money and connections to check up on Marco. I hope it ends up going in that direction.
Glad to see Rafa is being proactive. I particularly enjoy Jimenez. A small but loyal and devoted team.
Diana
I also loved the way that Rafa stood up to Marino. And no, I don't think that Dandy sold more, but as Rafa said, Marino is not a team player anymore and does not come to the meetings either, so therefore he doesn't get to participate in group activities. Salesman of the month is the best in the group, so...
