Dinero, July 13. VVV is a brazen bridezilla. Ramirez and Marino bore their dates. Urdiales is to be guest of honor at the wedding.
- Rafa's posse wants to know what hold that ugly nymphomaniac has over Marco. Clearly one of them must sacrifice his virtue in order to pry the secret out of her. Nelson says he can't do it because he has his own "particular police." After much guilt-tripping, Pepeto reluctantly "volunteers" to take one for the team and offer his fair form to Carmela the Ardent.
- Jorge and Rosario are so happy with Marco, it's a lovefest! OK, so why don't THEY marry him? Jorge wastes no time in handing over all the legal papers (including the lien on Rafa's home) and Marco is licking his chops over having the hacienda (I believe he's already lined up a buyer) ...
... When Ale appears with some serious buyer's remorse, quite repulsed by Marco. He, however, is euphoric and relieved - but eventually realizes he's not feeling the love, Ale looks like she's chewing on a lemon. Could it be - MEDINA?
Marco assures the family: he will take care of all difficulties and rid them of the detestable Chavez (who may be in Iraq at this very moment looking for Rubi)...
"So few guests?" Jorge asks. "The first time you invited 200." They all sent presents, too, which were never returned, so wouldn't it be bad form not to invite them to the wedding? Ale thinks she can't invite them a third time having cancelled the wedding twice before. She lies and says Susana will be at the beach and can't attend, and in fact she doesn't want anybody from Auto Siglo.
All, however, agree the famous Urdiales must be there, must in fact be the guest of honor. "Give us his address so we can send the invitation." Marco chokes. - Rafa hassles the bank manager: can't they approve his loan sooner than the end of the month? If he doesn't pay back Vicki's dad, he'll have to marry her!
- The Siglos go to their favorite hangout to celebrate Ramirez' birthday. Marino invites his intended next spouse and tells her to bring a friend. He only offers to buy one bottle of tequila, what a cheapskate. But when he tells his co-workers they must be on best behavior so as to impress the mother of his future daughter, they say they'll name all his sons for her, one by one, unless he pays for everything all night!
The ladies arrive. Marino bores Sandra; Ramirez bores Caroline - saved, she leaps up with alacrity when Pepeto invites her to dance. - Jaime tells Julieta he needs a little money and needs to write his thesis and then BANG BANG BANG it's Vicki Vicki Vicki at the door. She sweeps in, throws them all onto a couch, and proceeds to describe in minute detail all her plans for the wedding day. E.g., Julieta and her mom will wear the same dress, one which Vicki will design. They have all been stunned senseless by the time Rafa gets home...
... Rafa tarries outside: The guy who currently owns "The Panther" meets him at the curb and takes 1000 pesos and signs over the title. Rafa is overjoyed. At this moment there is no human being who's offering him such unalloyed pleasure. He kisses his car and admires its "new shoes." He should have stayed outside longer because...
... when he opens the door VVV jumps up, sucks on him like a remora, then throws him onto the couch and goes on with her dictatorial pronouncements. They all fall asleep but as VVV sings the Bridal March to her self ...
She notices her snoozing audience and wakes them with a scream - all melt away leaving poor Rafa in her clutches.
But wait! At the door she collars Jaime and tells him he will be padrino, "THE SECOND FATHER," to her first son. Rafa finds this odd. - At this point there was a tremendous crash of lightning and my tv went out. Is it gone forever? I'll keep you posted.

Can someone explain two things that I can not figure out:
1. What's the deal with the collapsing chairs at Delores' restaurant?
2. Who is Urdiales?
To R:
1) The collapsing chairs at the restaurant is a running joke. The real name is "La sal de la vida" but because some chairs are broken and collapse unexpectedly everybody calls it "el trancazo"
2) Urdiales is a real lawyer and head of a very imortant law firm. However, Marco has told Ale and her family that he works for him, when he really has no job at all.
I don't even know where to begin here. I really like your portrayal of Vicky as a "brazen bridezilla."
I hope that Rafa can get something going pretty soon. The scene with Jaime and Vicky was good too. Maybe Jaime should step up to the plate already. Just tell Rafa what happened.
Did anyne else notice that just as Ale came in Marco was kissing Rosario's hand? That was disgusting.
I'm also looking forward to Pepeto taking one for the team! Just from looking at Carmela and Marco though, I don't think Pepeto has what it takes to please Carmela.
Signng off... Private 057
I think that is my favorite opening paragraph ever.
I also love Carmela the Ardent because it gives our lusty bureaucrat a mythic stature. Which she clearly deserves.
The boys dithering among themselves as to who "will sacrifice his virtue" and Ale's "buyer's remorse" were also gems. She DID look like she was sucking on a lemon.
Missed the Vicky Bridezilla scenes and don't regret it a bit. Just wondering now how long it will take us to get to the next wedding crisis. But I can wait.
Thanks Melinama. You're still the ultimate pro at this. Could we please hear more about Superman the Miniature Horse though? Is he described on your other blog?
I want to know, how did Rafa get out of having cositas with VVV last night, or did he, the last I saw she had his shirt off and was kissing him.
Pvt. 057 you said that Pepeto didn't have what Carmela wanted, let's not forget, she jumped Jaime's bones and Pepeto is more attractive, so maybe she will bite and spill the beans, let's hope.
Would someone please explain to Marino that he determins the sex of a baby not the woman, he drives me nuts with this.
Kat- I think that's part of the running joke, that Marino is being a moron about this whole perfect woman to give him a daughter thing, since the man determines the sex of the child.
Rafa must/will get out of having cositas with Vicky. There is no way they would add yet another reason for Ale to hate him. Plus, he wasn't drunk or drugged, so no way to pull that move either.
Did anyone else catch the looks on Asucena's face as Marco was doing that snow job on Jorge and Rosario? She does not believe a word he is saying and is getting more suspicious of him living in such close quarters. She was even questioning why/how he's at home so much and not at work. Smart woman. Now the question is, will she be able to share her suspicions with anyone useful (since Rosario would not be)?
As much as I enjoyed the recap, I'm still stuck on Superman the miniature horse. How wonderful! I'm very intrigued. Like Judy, I would love to hear more!

Yes I loved Asucena's doubtful looks amusing-- and the whole family was questioning why Marco is around so much. Guess he'll just have to spend even more time in that bar. Ale's look when Marco kissed her was priceless too.
I have to go watch the rest of the show now. As much as VVV drives me crazy I am enjoying her bridezilla mode.

If Jaime told Rafa Vicky's scheme, Rafa could get out of the wedding (of course, he'd still have to pay back Don Gaston). Jaime has a bunch of reasons for not telling, maybe the strongest of which is he thinks he'll lose Julieta. Of course if Vicky is lying about being pregnant, and nothing really happened that night Jaime was drunk, he'd probably be okay. So I'm hoping that somehow, Vicky slips up in a moment of anger or craziness, and tells Jaime the truth. This could be a ways off, though.
The show ended before we found out for sure if Rafa was going to give in to Vicky's advances. But I'm pretty sure he won't. Correspondingly, there's no way Ale will sleep with Marco before the wedding.
It was a bit chilling when Marco thought bubbled to himself something like "I don't care if Ale loves me or not, I'll just marry her anyway".
Wiered how while he and Ale are broken up he can't have cositas with anyone but now that they are back together, looks like he may have another round with Claudia and maybe someone is going to catch them...

Love Superman's bangs! Even though Jethro gets irritated by him, I'll bet he loves the company. Tell us more.
Kat, I also used to think Marino thought the woman was important for "making" girls. But don't believe so now. After all, this newest one has 3 sons. So if he thought the woman determined the sex, I don't think he would be interested in her.
I personally can't wait to see the Carmela and Pepeto "get-together". Should be very entertaining.
I did have to check out the Superman picture (thanks, Barbara!). What a hairdo! What a cutie!

The picture made me wonder if you had ever treated a donkey in your practice? That is, if there are any residents where you live.
Diana
The statistics are against Marino. I've read somewhere that the chance for a woman of having second baby of the same sex is about 70%, and for the third baby the percentage is even higher. He will be working with a very tight margin, since it would be her 4th baby.
Vicki never disappoints. I love Jaime's twitchiness whenever he is around her and she seems to enjoy tweaking him.
I know that it's unlikely, but I'd like to see Pepito and Carmela hit it off.
Jorge is beginning to languish. BRING RUBI HOME!
Carlos
P.S. Love the picture of Superman! Very cute.
(Was that enough of a guilt trip to want to make you stay?)
Diana, I'm at the edge of Chicago, so we only see doggies and kitties here. Though I love horses, ponies, donkeys, I have not treated any since leaving school long, LONG ago.
