Llena de Amor #3 Wed 8/11/10

Do we have a recapper for last night's show, or was this an alternate week with a ? for recapper? If anyone is planning to post a recap, please let us know!

Otherwise, here is a place to discuss.

Thank you, Julia! I was just about to put up a link myself. I wonder what happened..

Anyway, I really enjoyed last night's show, though during about the first third it looked like the captions were being done live, and a lot of stuff was left out, so I missed some things.

I really hope that someone is going to post a reacap, I didn't get to see last nights episode! Thanks in advance!!

I also missed last night's show so I'm hoping there will at least be a quick recap of highlights in the comments.

If I had better recollection, I'd post up a whole summary, but my mind was in other places as I was watching last night. Here's what I remember:

Maximo, the General, is Emiliano's uncle. He hates Fedra and loves Marianela. Emanuel followed Mari into the General's room trying to apologize to her, then Fedra followed both of them because they must not be together, and the General threw her out, or rather, threatened to shoot. The family seems to all accept that the General really will shoot, so this was taken seriously.

Emanuel and Marianela were talking, and Em leaned in close and Mari had a little fantasy that he kissed her (she was sitting on a flowered swing in the fantasy) and said she tasted like chocolate, but in real life he just said she smelled like chocolate. Later, they were talking out on the lawn, and nasty Kristel and Mauricio came along and teased them and turned the sprinklers on them.

The kids apparently hang out at some club with a pool. Two girls there have massive crushes on Axel. Axel is very awkward and uncomfortable with this attention. He overheard Kristel telling her friends about Marianela and plotting against her and he's not happy about it, but he doesn't seem to know what to do.

Huge uproar in the Mexico City airport. A hostage situation; guy with a gun, everyone on the floor. Ilitia was freaking out, and Brandon was also there and clamped his hand over her mouth and dragged her into the men's room so the gunman wouldn't shoot them. She thought he wanted money or was going to rape her and couldn't get it through her thick skull that he just wanted her to shut up. He tied her to the urinal with his belt and gagged her with her own hosiery. Later, Brandon got the gun away from the other guy and saved the day. His buddy (can't remember his name, other cop played by Ricardo Margaleff) was there.

Netty was giving acting lessons and accidentally let on to her students that she is smitten with Emiliano. They teased her.

That's all I remember.

Oh, also Gretel barricaded herself in her room, and Emanuel had to climb in through the window and found her pretty much catatonic in the closet and carried her to her bed. When Gretel saw Marianela, she freaked out. Mari asked Emanuel what is wrong with Gretel, and he said she's been to a lot of doctors but no one knows.

Also...Fedra yelled at Emiliano for associating with that actress, and he told her he's fed up with her attitude.

There was something involved an office and casting models but I wasn't really paying attention during that part and I'm not sure whose business it is or what was going on.

Well, I’ll recap a bit of my favorite scene, and then I’ll try to think of the others. It was towards the last and Ilitia is in the L.A. airport. Brandon walks behind her, appreciating her virtues. Suddenly a crazed gunman grabs a woman hostage and starts firing. Everyone hits the ground and cowers. Ilitia squeals, so Bernando grabs her, puts his hand over her mouth, and pulls her into an indent in the wall. Every time he takes his hand off her mouth, she squeals, so he quickly pulls her into the mens’ room. She thinks he’s going to kill her, so she tells him she’s famous and her daddy has lots of money. She’s still squealing, so he takes his belt off and he thinks he’s going to rape her. Instead he ties her to a urinal. She keeps up being loud, so he in exasperating reaches up under her dress and takes off her panties and ties them as a gag.

Then he gets out his gun ( a gun in a airport?) and goes out, hides in the indent, then confidently walks up behind the madman, kicks his gun away, and puts him under arrest.

Her mama is desperately looking for her, and he tells her she’s in the mens’ room. The paparazzi follow, and snap away at her while she tries to hide behind Brandon’s cop friend who has showed up. The humiliation!

Oh Julia, you're quick. I didn't look for new comments before I posted!

Kristel, who apparently is in the lead for Miss Fancy Club, decides to enter Marianels's name and she gloats to Mauricio about how funny it will be to see Marianela parading up there in a bathing suit

Was not happy to see the same actress, and her name escapes me, playing the skank trying to get Axel who was the young skank fooling aroung with Bruno in Sorti. She's like 30+ but always plays these teenage parts. just was yelling at my TV "NOOOOOO! not her again! Run Axel Run!"

Emanual is such a sweetie. I love watching him with Mari and even with his sister Gretel. certainly shows more compassion than the poor girl's own mother. Man, could Freda be any more uncaring? Anvil, get ready to drop.

Well, we had to deal with Armando's (Brandon's) veins a-popping again, but at least he's now a good guy, so it was a bit easier to take. Could Ilitia be any more dense to shut up-it's a hostage situation stupid!

This poolside club group is going to be hard to bear. (I don't count Axel). Little less screen time with their mean tirades and snarky comments is fine by me. More Netty and her gang!

Brandon got his gun out of a locker at the airport after he landed (it was in his briefcase). I guess he left it there during his trip; who knows why he didn't just leave it at home?

It was great fun, that airport gunman scene (I loved how they made comedy out of something that would be terrifying in real life). I especially liked when the other cop arrived, and Ilitia was hiding from the press behind him. The two of them were such fun as Rocky and Valeria in Guapos; it's nice that they are acting together again.

Daisynjay, I actually have a soft spot for that actress (Manuela Imaz) because she played one of my favorite characters in Amar Sin Limites, the first telenovela I watched. In that one she was age-appropriate and one of the good guys.

Marianela should enter the pageant, and Axel should rig the voting so she wins. I have no idea how the whole thing works, but Kristel is such a b(ratty w)itch there have got to be a lot of people who would love to stick it to her. But, le sigh, we will probably have to wait months for everyone to turn on her.

Blog mom here. Because of the strange doings of Univision we have a crew recapping a show that takes place at midnight. We are short-handed for Llena de Amor. Cathy said she would do half the Wednesdays, I guess last night was the "other" Wednesday. And Sylvia, who signed on for Thursdays, isn't available until September so we actually don't have a Thursday person. I haven't seen the first few shows so, though I said I'd do a slapdash recap of tonight's show, it may just be a header. Any volunteers welcome to apply!

Melinama, I don't think there's a need for you to recap a show you aren't even watching. If no one volunteers to do a real recap, I can post at least a summary.

Melinama - I'd volunteer, but I have a meeting tonight. I might be able to cover in some other weeks..

For those of you who are thinking you might put your toe in the waters, this is the perfect opporrunity to give recapping a try - a short commitment.

Thanks Julia, I take you up on your offer!

Maggie and Julia, thanks a bunch. I didn't pay close attention last night, though I did notice the pitiful captions for the first 20 min or so. My heart sank, because I was certain that a lady representing the Houston Univision channel had finally gotten someone pay attention to the CCs. They were very good all last week. They improved however and were quite good for the rest of the evening. She said not much can be done about CS because its CCs are done by a co. in S. America.

The airport scene was hilarious. I noticed that Arnoldo our favorite germophobe (Gancho) was with the SWAT team and wearing gloves. I wonder if this was a nod to his former incarnation since Arnie wore gloves a good bit of the time.

Daisynjay, I'm with you on the pool scenes. Enough already! Somehow I fear we're going to endure a lot of those.

Carlos

Do we have any idea of what the family members do? Do any of them work? How old is Emanuel supposed to be, and does he do anything besides train for his displays of athleticism?

Julia- This is what the character synopsis said about Emanuel: a talented comic-book artist and art director at a publicity agency. A fan of motorcycle competitions, a confirmed avenger, intelligent and noble.

Oh, right. It's weird that we haven't seen any establishment of that yet. So far, he just seems to exercise.

Thank you so much Julia and Maggie and everyone else that filled in last nights show. The captions were awful and sometimes missing altogether so I was pretty much lost. I can read Spanish pretty well but can't understand spoken Spanish very well so if the captions aren't good and they seldom are I don't know what is going on. I don't know if I will ever be able to understand without captions.

I watch this show at lunch; it's good lunchtime fare. I noted that with that explosive meeting scene between Brandon and Ilitia, those two are a lock for a couple. Lots of tension there.
