La Verdad Oculta EP25 10/18/2010 - The path of the dark side

Aribeth

* After the sinister handshake Roberto anxiously leaves, making Mario, Bertha and David wonder about his behaviour. Mario mentions that the look on Rob's face was very strange.

* Marcos, who looks like a rapper now, and his girlfriend are back in Mexico. She got from a friend the name and the address of a rich man who may give them job. They find the house (which is the elegant villa that became Mario's and Fausto's headquarters), but when they ring the doorbell a very unfriendly and mistrustful Abelardo opens the door and send them away. No, nobody lives in this house. But... No, don't ask questions. Goodbye.

* Juan José tells Asunción that the treasure worths more than 160 million pesos. Asunción becomes so amazed that JJ has to close his jaw that dropped. The old beggar is excited and enthusiastically urges JJ to continue digging.

* Alejandra and Mario talk about the reconstruction and about what happened in the secret passage last day. She asks him if he's sure that David doesn't suspect anything. No, he has enough problems, he hasn't noticed anything. Mario asks Ale that if the boy finds out the truth please tell him that he did it to protect him.

* David visits Gabriela flashing a big bouquet of flowers and a wide, happy smile. Hi, my dear! But Gaby's angry at him for having a "romantic" weekend with Bertha and sends him to hell.

* Elsa promises to give Caramelo a new dress, which makes the little girl very happy. Asunción tells her that JJ is very tired since his job is exhausting and he digs in the kitchen every single day, then he asks for a loan to be able to buy a few things they need in the house.

* Darth Adolfo is very pleased with his new padawan/pet/protegé Roberto, who's gaining David's trust little by little. Carlos shows up and after Daddy leaves he tells Rob happily that he had a dinner with Gaby. (Gimme a high five.) He also met JJ and tried to calm him down, telling him he and Adolfo have nothing to do with Mario Genovés. Anyway, they have to send the guy back to jail for another 20 years. (Carlos, you're cute but you need a new father, a new best friend and some moral sense.)

* Juan José and Elsa visit Alejandra, but JJ decides to wait outside. In the office Elsa gives her a dress and asks about her name. Is she really called Genovés? Yes, that's her second name, Alejandra Balmori Genovés. Why? Errr, nothing. Elsa leaves and Ale wonders about her strange behaviour. Outside Elsa tells JJ that the Ale belongs to the Genovés family, oh, and by the way, his archenemy Mario is his neighbour. JJ is shocked and he says they should be careful with that architect!

* RobertIago tells David Carlos and Gaby had dinner together. Blondie explodes.

* Marky Marcos and Whatshername are in low spirits, they don't have either a job, or a place to sleep at night. But Marky has a brilliant idea: if that house is uninhabited indeed, why don't they break in and spend the night there?

* David visits the Guilléns again and now it's him who's completely pissed off with Gaby. So you were on a date with Carlos, weren't you? Fausto stands between the bickering lovebirds and learns that David and Gaby are dating for a while. They continue quarreling and finally daddy throws Blondie out of the flat and prohibits him to visit them again. Inside he tells his daughters they have to resign for their job for good and all and he plays out the "we"ll move to another city" card again. Gaby's so sad that she agrees with him but Julieta is very angry at them: she has done nothing wrong and this is not fair! After she storms out Fausto tries to comfort his weeping, heartbroken daughter.

* Mina and Alejandra talk about the famous architect Medina. He's so lovely, and it seems Mina likes him. He's still interested in that house and she sent him to JJ and Elsa to try his luck. Then she tells Alejandra that Roberto and Carlos also tried to buy the house, which makes Ale furious: she shouldn't have confided in Roberto. True words, sister.

* JJ is in vengeance mode again. He wants to enter Mario's house to tell him what he thinks about him. Elsa stops him reminding him of that he's been liberated conditionally, and drags him away from the villa. In the meantime Roberto, who's about to visit David, notices them holding each other's hand.

* Yolanda asks Adolfo if the police is investigating after them. Yes, and that Leonardo irritates Dolphie much. What the hell was he doing in his club last night? Anyway, he has an issue he has to deal with... And it will be Roberto who'll take care of his problem. Yolanda is surprised: Roberto? Really?

* RobertIago tells Mario and David whom he saw on the street: that guy at whose trial Mario testified. He thinks JJ should be sent back to prison because he may harm the family, and David seems to agree, since he's worried for his father very much. On the other hand, Mario, The Ultimate Saint of Mexico says he has never been sure about his culpability, he only saw him talking with that girl. And it was Adolfo, who accused him with with murder, not him. What if he's innocent? He's already lost 11 years. No, he'd rather help that poor guy. Well, that's not exactly the answer that Rob was waiting for.

* Carlos visits Elsa. He asks her about JJ again and wants to convince her that JJ is a coldblooded murderer and she should be careful with him. Elsa says she's sure he's innocent, period.

* In an adorable scene, Juan José and Gabriela meet again accidentally, this time on a bus. They finally introduce and are having a funny, friendly conversation about their life and job while the vehicle shakes the breath out of them. Hmm, I smell a new friendship.

* Marky Marcos and girlfriend (seriously, does anybody know her name?) break in the house and find the secret make-up/camera room. Ouch.

Great recap; thanks, Aribeth! Marcos and his girlfriend have the luck, don't they? Finding the diamond shoes and then Mario's tunnel house.

The shoes are hurting her, too; I am trying to imagine how they get back to Adolfo -- or how they open them up to find the diamonds.

Thank you! Five minutes ago I uploaded the pictures and sent you the image codes.

The Marcos girlfriend character may be called "Susana Gómez." The part is played by Cecilia Tijerina; see what you think.

Oh, yeah! I wanted to say that Dora had this almost horrified look on her face when Roberto tore out of Mario's house.

She apparently had not had the occasion of encountering him there before, but she recognized him after a fashion.

It made me think now that it must be Salomón who is the bad man she was in love with. The two actors don't look alike; but as father and son, they are slated to.

Wow, if true, that would make Salomón David's father -- and Roberto his half brother. Whoa.

Thanks, you're right, she's Cecilia. I saw only a few pictures of this woman, and she was a shy, brunette teenager on them. She was one of the protagonists of Larrosa's successful juvenil telenovela called Muchachitas.

You and Vivi asked yesterday how could Leo know about Santiago - in episode 24 he and Ramón discussed the life of Adolfo and they mentioned an actor who killed his wife in Dolphie's theater. He doesn't know Fausto=Santiago.

Aribeth: Beautiful pictures that captured the essence of the character's souls. Roberto, evil personified as he glares at Mario; Carlos (as we see Elsa's back) as the wolf in sheep's clothing. Fantastic. Your pictures are indeed worth a thousand words.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fun you have with the names: "Darth Adolfo", "Robertlago" and "Marky Marcos and Whatshername". A terrific recap.

So Marcos is not going to try and help incarcerate Juan, he's going to help him. But will he have time enough to do so?

Gabi's heartbroken. Why doesn't David try a sensitive, calm approach? He's like an angry bull in a china shop for heaven's sake. Try a little sweetness and light David.

My favorite scene was Juan and Gabi. The conversation was animated, punctuated with many smiles. They clearly enjoy each other's company. You're right Aribeth. Looks like a solid friendship brewing here.

Jeri,on point observation about Marcos and his girlfriend. They've uncovered just about every secret (diamonds, the "make up" studio) in sixty seconds flat. :)

Roberto and David as brothers? Wow. I just got shivers (and NOT the kind I get from looking at Juan). :)

I'm loving this show. The actors are great and the storyline interesting because it continues to take unexpected twists and turns.

Thanks again Aribeth.

Diana

Aribeth, thank you for the info! That was my own episode; I guess I was busily ignoring that detail, LOL.

Thanks Aribeth for the great recap and thanks Jeri for the links.

Why did Marco and his girl decide to break into the house, made no sense, they know that it is inhabited by someone else and they can't stay there. With their 'luck' they will probably find the tunnel as well, lol.

So funny that the girlfriend also couldn't walk with the shoes. I can just see her also throwing them in some trash bin, and then probably Caremelo will find them, lol.

Diana, agree with you, David should try a more calm approach, instead he is always showing his anger and jealousy when talking to Gabi. But then I suppose Gabi has a temper as well and won't listen to him either when he tries to explain. They are made for each other, lol.

Had a laugh when JJ smelled his underarms in the bus, so funny. Then he was trying to get the guy sitting down to get up for Gabi (did I understand that right?). JJ is such a charmer with the women, who can resist him.

Margaret

Margaret...''Who can resist him ?''...not me !!!!

Aribeth- Thank you so much for the recap and for telling us when Leo learned about Santiago. I love that guy! I hope he figures out soon that Fausto is Santiago and can start to help him out there.

Wow! Two blow ups between Gabi and David in one night. Since I missed last week, I don't even think I saw them get back together from their fight two weeks ago. They are both hotheads for sure, but David has to understand that he is not winning her over this way. Right now Carlos is winning in the romancing department; Leo is winning in the strong protector department; and JJ is winning in the making her smile and laugh department. Get it together David!

I do not like that Marcos and Susana (?) have found Mario/Fausto's hideaway and makeup room. And if they turn on the tv they will see the videos of Mario. And yes, they could also find the tunnel. Good grief! I want them to find those diamonds in the shoes and get on their way, but I know it won't be as simple as that.

susanlyn, I wouldn't want to resist him either, lol.

Margaret

Jeri: Oops. I mean, it was in episode 23. :)

Diana: Thank you, your comments always make me smile. As for the pictures - while I enjoy choosing the most interesting ones, the Oscar goes to the director who has done a great job with those scenes.

Vivi:
Right now Carlos is winning in the romancing department; Leo is winning in the strong protector department; and JJ is winning in the making her smile and laugh department. Get it together David!
:)))
Gawd, he's lucky for not knowing Leo and JJ & the effect these great guys have on Gabriela. He'd develop a serious inferiority complex.

One question-- Did Mario tell Ale about the reasons for the tunnel? She seems to know more than she did before I left. Just how much does she know? Mario's illness? His planned switch with Fausto?

Margaret:
Then he was trying to get the guy sitting down to get up for Gabi (did I understand that right?).

Yes, he said (and he obviously enjoyed the situation): "This is why this city is so messed up, it's because of people like you! You don't care what happens to others, especially to a young lady who is so... *looks at Gaby* pretty."
He obviously enjoyed the sitation much.

JJ asked her what her job is, and when Gaby said she's a waitress he responded: "I didn't know there are restaurants in Heaven."

Vivi: Yes, he told her everything (Marta, Dolphie, Fausto, tunnel) last week. I think it was episode 21. They had a very emotional crying competition.

Aribeth, thanks. I couldn't understand the words of what was being said, but looking at the actions of the characters. That JJ is a is such a joker. His antics make me laugh.

Margaret

Thanks Aribeth! I love this TN but there are a couple of things that have me scratching my head.

Elsa and JJ don't seem to know Marcos escaped from prison. It was a violent escape and in the process several guards were killed. Shouldn't it be all over the news? Wouldn't the police would have contacted her and JJ about Marcos' possible whereabouts by now?

The house Marcos and his girlfriend broke into is an expensive house in a wealthy neighborhood. Yet it has no alarm system? And someone left the louvered windows open?

Why hasn't Elsa taken Caramelo to her apartment so she can get a bath and wash her clothes? Can no one afford to buy her some new clothes? Isn't there a K Mart somewhere? I hate seeing that little girl so dirty. I think that's the first thing I'd do for her.

I loved the scene with the roses especially when Gabi booted them out of the apartment after David. Gabi is no wilting daisy that's for sure.

I know Gabi's destined for David and JJ for Ale, but right now I'd rather see JJ and Gabi together. And I cringe every time Elsa opens the door and lets Carlos or Roberto into her apartment. I don't trust either one of them.

Aribeth, ok Ep. 23 was your episode, so I don't feel so bad. :D Thanks.

xlnt, don't worry, Caramelo does get a bath and a dress soon.

xlntperuvian, you are so right with the questions you raised and I agree. With all the secrecy concerning the tunnel, etc, didn't they even think to instal an alarm system.

I was also curious about Caramelo and why JJ or even Elsa didn't give her a bath and change her clothes.

Margaret

I loved your recap, Aribeth!!! For some reason (I don't know why) my TV blacked out on this channel, so I was happy to read the recap and comments, which I love.

I for one would like JJ and Elsa to end up together, but no one seems to think this will happen.
:o(

Ann-NYC

Awesome recap Aribeth!Gracias. This episode was full of broken links.like most of you I would like to see Gabie with JJ.They do seem good together.I like Ale better than her sister, but to go out with Roberto, makes me question her decision making.Gabie is probably going to end up with David so she can inherit her natural father's fortune.Perish the thought of David and Roberto been brothers.Ewwwww.The slim ball was trying to buy JJ's house for a fraction of its value. Was I right in thinking he quoted three different prices to three different people?I am just consoling myself with his inevitable demise. All bad TN characters die horribly to the satisfaction of their viewers.I can only hope he gets a truly horrific death. What a slime ball.

Hanna

I agree with you on your three points of head scratching, Xlnt, but if this were any other novela, the list would be a mile long.

Those shoes and diamonds are making me crazier than J J's gold treasure. What circuit will they take and will Adolfo ever see those ugly black shoes again and with the diamonds still hidden inside?

Thanks, Aribeth, for the great recap and pics and, Jeri, for the links.

Aribeth, "Marky Marcos"? That was just too funny.

Nice seeing JJ enjoying his freedom just chatting up a beautiful girl on a bus. Gabriela sure has more than her share of admirers.

xlntperuvian, I too cringe everytime Carlos or Roberto show up at Elsa's door. She's just to vulnerable. Loved the way she stood up to Carlos about Juan's innocence. Now Elsa, just stop letting this guy in your apartment.
