La Verdad Oculta #97: Pumpkinhead in the cross hairs

"Hernández" explains he took a bullet in the leg, promises to wait for Adolfo's call and exits the condo. In Michoacán, Jorge reiterates to Dora she's going to wind up dying alone and with an innocent man on her conscience; and though she's conflicted, he doesn't even chip her stubbornness.

Leonardo visits Juan José and angrily busts him for the stupid armed stunt at Adolfo's; but it's a revelation that Juan José knows the kidnap hideout -- and found it empty and covered with blood. They're heading straight there. Back in Michoacán, Jorge enlists a young woman to covertly call David for Dora.

At the recently vacated hideout, Leonardo tensely orders blood, finger prints and any scrap of evidence examined. At a public phone in Michoacán, the young woman calls Mario's house incognito to learn from the maid David's health and relieve Dora's mind.

Distraught Alejandra visits Juan José, and Asunción and Pancha witness from around the corner her abject torment over the disappearance of the kids. Across the way Gabriela learns disconcertedly from maid Ramona that a girl called David. Back at Juan José's, Asunción apologizes to Alejandra for having been hard on her.

Alejandra surprises and delights everyone with her fervent wish to adopt Caramelo when all this is over and she and Juan José are married. Back at Mario's, due to Gabriela's penetrating questions, Abelardo has to lie to her that the Campo Real covert communications are hidden in a truck out front like in a movie.

When Abelardo reveals this lie to "Mario" in private, Santiago still refuses to let Gabriela in on the disguise, insisting he has so little time in the role left. "Hernández" visits Adolfo at the condo and presents the crooked cop's disgraceful rap sheet as evidence of his sincerity, claiming powerful friends secured his prison release and reinstatement.

"Hernández" wants vengeance against Leonardo; he says he likes money, too -- and Adolfo should set him a test if he doesn't trust him. At Mario's, "Mario" can't escape before Gabriela corners him with her doubts that supposedly covert David runs all over town with his cell phone turned off and now he has a girl calling him!

Back at the condo, Adolfo forces "Hernández" to remove his jacket against the suspicion of wearing a wire, which he isn't; and he asks why a cop isn't wearing a gun. Gabriela sped to Santiago's and admits to Julieta her fears David is fooling around. Back at Adolfo's, "Hernández" claims he's not there as a cop; rather an ally.

So Adolfo agrees to set him a test to prove his trustworthiness; he'll receive a call from one of Adolfo's men. Santiago arrives home to a hornet's nest named Gabriela, won't satisfactorily answer, and exits again in a huff with Gabriela on his heels. Downstairs on the sidewalk, they meet Leonardo & Co. entering.

Leonardo awkwardly introduces "Hernández" to Gabriela, who's looking markedly askance at the newcomer. The men abandon her there and exit up to Leonardo's. At Juan José's that evening, he comes downstairs to find catatonic Alejandra huddled on the floor, hugging Caramelo's toy. He can't interest her in anything.

But he, Asunción and Pancha try to get her to eat. Back at Leonardo's, he reiterates that David needs to continue the ruse to save the kids and trap Adolfo, despite his hatred of Adolfo and fears Gabriela will suspect him and think he's fooling around. And also despite David's revelation Adolfo plans a test of loyalty -- where he must kill someone!

Upstairs, Gabriela grouses to Julieta that it seems her dad and Leonardo are great koffee klatch pals; not to mention that new dude with them who looks like a killer more than a cop. She doesn't want to think about the fact that after all the trouble they've had, now it looks like David might have a girlfriend!

In Juan José's kitchen, Alejandra still won't eat Pancha's delicious looking soup and steak, but gratefully considers grasping the lifeline Asunción offers by way of joining them at church. Being there will make them feel closer to God and their spirits more in tune to pray for their loved ones, he counsels.

Across the way in Gabriela and David's bedroom suite, things get worse and worse when David calls her familiarly "Gabi," which she notes he never does -- and what's next, a bouquet of flowers? When he admits he was actually going to bring flowers, she exclaims he'd better bring a whole wreath of them!

David's denying all her accusations and about to calm her down just when Gabriela notices a big stain of makeup on his collar -- and cracks him a smart smack in disgust. He can only weakly claim it's his own makeup. Next day, Adolfo phones "Hernández," who's in the covert van, with the details of the meeting and warns if he doesn't show, he's toast.

Leonardo assures David they will be backing him up the whole time. At church, the four kneel to pray; with Pancha promising to go easier on her son, Asunción to deserve Caramelo more and make her proud, Juan José acknowledging his impotence despite wealth and bravery, and Alejandra bidding God's protective mantle cover the frightened children.

On the street in front of Adolfo's condo building, it turns out the man "Herández" must meet is none other than former security chief Édgar -- and his prospective mark is Juan José Victoria! Back outside the church, the sun shines and banishes storm clouds above the four supplicants who are now ready for a miracle.

In his home office, "Mario" can only ineffectually deny Gabriela's proof of makeup on David's collar; but he manages to convince her to wait and see. She exits as David enters and then Abelardo; and the three quickly connect the poisoning of Roberto to Édgar when David excitedly relates who his contact at Adolfo's turned out to be.

And not only that: the person he's supposed to assassinate is Juan José Victoria!

OT: I made a blizzard photo album around our house, which can be viewed here.

I'm up late transfixed by the craziness in Egypt that I am watching on CNN. Anderson Cooper, attacked! One of my best friends is living there, and I'm supposed to visit her in April. She has managed to get three messages out to us. Ugh!

I figured I might as well comment before going to bed. You did a fabulous job as always Jeri! :)

Gabi had me chuckling this episode with her rightous anger and jealousy. I wanted to see how that conversation in the bedroom ended after she saw the makeup, slapped him, and then he said the makeup was his. Ruh ruh! Say what? LOL! And when she came into "Mario's" office, and they just looked at each other for a few seconds and you could see Fausto gulp. Just tell her everything already!

I will likely be in the minority here, but although I feel bad for the guilt Ale must be feeling, I was annoyed by her this episode. Get a grip! Lucha's child is missing and she's holding it together better and having to nurse Ale back into good humor. I know Lucha has her faith and that's what's keeping her going, but still. And then when they all jumped on the bandwagon about Ale adopting Caramelo, and no one thought to mention Elsa, I got really annoyed. What about what Caramelo wants? What do they plan on doing about Elsa. You know who Caramelo has cried for the most during her kidnapping? Her MOMMY! Yep. Mommy Elsa. So they better figure something out and stop acting like Caramelo is some doll that can easily be tucked into one family and then another just like that. She comes with baggage, and that baggage is her mommy Elsa, so they better get used to it.

Jeri- Did you help your hubby shovel all that snow today?

Thank you, Jeri!

OT
Egypt: *sigh*
My father has this idea for years: he wants to see Jerusalem for the second before he dies. You know, Christ's tomb, spiritual input, and so on. But he doesn't want to fly directly to Israel (which would be the best solution) because it's very expensive, though they could afford it. He wants to go to Egypt (again), therefore one day he and my mother could get on a tourist bus and take a trip to Jerusalem. My mom and I don't like the idea because they don't speak languages and that trip doesn't sound safe at all. This January my dad was in hospital so he was out of the loop for a while. After he came home he got very enthusiastic because the trips to Egypt suddenly became very cheap! Let's do it now! And we were like: please, turn on the TV and see what's happening in Egypt right now.

Vivi, ugh, your best friend lives there permanently?

Thanks Jeri! You are quite right about an insult to pumpkins everywhere!

QTH was that?? Did we just go off into a parallel universe with this episode? Most of it was not believable.

I agree with you Vivi. Alejandra didn’t seem all that concerned about Caramelo’s disappearance until Elsa came to her office and raged at her. I always got the impression that Ale thought of Caramelo like she was someone else’s pet. Cute to play with for a little while, but then you send it back for the owner to take care of. Now Ale wants to adopt Caramelo? I’m guessing if Caramelo was still around Ale wouldn’t even be thinking about adopting her let alone giving voice to the idea. I guess guilt inspires all kinds of things.

And what’s with the “other woman jealousy schtick” for David and Gabi? David isn’t even fully recovered from his wounds yet and Gabriella thinks he’s running around with another woman? Where would he have met her since he's been at home all this time? This storyline isn’t worthy of Gabriella at this point in the TN. I am sorely, sorely disappointed in the writers.

Regarding Egypt all I can say is we've seen this show before. Iran 1979. I truly hope I'm wrong... but buckle your seatbelts folks because this may not end well.

Jeri, I forgot to add I had never heard of "Thundersnow" before you mentioned it yesterday. There's a funny video on weather.com of a reporter experiencing thundersnow for the first time. You can find it here:

http://www.weather.com/outlook/videos/cantore-surprised-by-thunder-snow-19541

Floridia (from yesterday):
Good comment. However, as for Mina and her jealousy - there's a problem with the "Mina and Mau may get together, she already has feelings for him" theory: she has never been that much into him. She mentioned one, maybe two times that wow, Medina is handsome, isn't he? And that's it. She never pined after him, and when lovestruck Mau gave a job to Elsa, she helped and encouraged her. So I don't think she is jealous at Elsa.

Vivi:
Alejandra was VERY whiney, but these were important scenes: it turned out she loves the kids. No more ice queen. And she didn't know before what was it like to worry for a child, plus her conscience was torturing her. Asunción and Lucha noticed that emotional storm, that's why they forgave her and tolerated her crying and whining.

And then when they all jumped on the bandwagon about Ale adopting Caramelo

Hmmm.
Honestly, this is exactly what Elsa and Mauricio were talking about in Vallarta. They wanted to adopt Caramelo, and they didn't mention asking JJ and Asunción, aka Cara's family, or finding out what she really wants. Of course she wants a shiney new family with Mom and Dad!

I was against it since day one and said let's wait and find out what Caramelo really wants, see how she feels after the first enthusiasm is over. And yes, it turned out Caramelo will never, ever forget her former family, moreover, she wants to live with them, and you can't blame only Asunción's sad face and manipulation for that. After all, 8 years can't be erased that easily. And it's obviously works in the other way, too, so she wouldn't forget Elsa either. Btw, at least they don't say she HAS to forget Elsa for the sake of the family - that's Mauricio's field, for the sake of his relationship.

It was hell of a bad idea to let Elsa adopt Caramelo. No, they didn't have to do that, there were other very caring adults who could've become good temporal foster parents without becoming too attached to the child. That was a hurried decision and thanks to their panic now they are in an awful emotional trap. And since A-JJ-C seem to be the endgame, Elsa's heart will break. Unless Caramelo chooses her, but frankly, I doubt it.

Since she met Angie she wants a mommy, but I got the impression that it wasn't about just Elsa, it was about her wish to have a normal family. She clearly adores her, but the mommy, The Mother could've been any female character who treated her well: Elsa, Alejandra, Lucha, Yolanda... Gawd, even Bralessida managed to conquer her heart despite the manhandling.

Xlnt:
I’m guessing if Caramelo was still around Ale wouldn’t even be thinking about adopting her let alone giving voice to the idea.

I see a parallel between the scenes when Elsa and Caramelo went to buy her dress and the scenes when Alejandra and Caramelo were doing the same. You hit the nail on the head with the guilt remark, but she already warmed up towards the kid and she would've agreed to adopt her one day. The writers were so busy with copying the Elsa-Caramelo scenes from the previous telenovela that they forgot to give enough scenes to Cara and Ale.

***

I miss Julieta and Gaby together.

Back at Adolfo's, "Hernández" claims he's not there as a cop; rather an ally.

Yet you're called comandante.

Well, to continue my agenda: pumpkins usually don't have caring, brave hearts, but this one knows how to handle Alejandra when she has a breakdown and thanks to his suicide mission Leo & co. know where the kids were kept. :)

***

Egypt: the violence, poverty, dictatorship and desperation are awful. Plus those hornet's nests called Israel, Iran, Iraq and now Egypt aren't far enough from Europe, and there are ethnic problems in many european countries already. Grrrrreat.

Thank you for the recap Jeri and for the links.

Adolfo is truly obsessed with killing JJ, and I can't believe that he fell for the disguise and is going to trust 'Hernandez'. Not even a little suspicion about this 'Hernandez'. Adolfo's meglomania is going to be his downfall.

What exactly was the paperwork that 'Hernandez' showed to Adolfo. Do crooked cops have resumes with all their bad and crooked 'deeds' to prove that they are indeed crooked and available to any villain.

So now Ale wants to adopt Caramelo when she marries JJ. I do like Ale, but I really hope that doesn't happen. Her guilt is talking.

I agree, so when does Gabi think that David has time to be seeing another woman. I actually thought that she knew that David was in disguise when he gives her all that info at the board meetings.

Margaret

Morning all- My friend is Colombian, but lives and works in the US. Her company (my former company) has contracted her to work for their Egypt office for a year. Since she's not American, no nice evacuation by the US Embassy. She's fine though and in good hands with her Egyptian co-workers. I still have in mind that I'm going in April (yes crazy), but I haven't bought the tickets yet.

On to the story- The only reason I can think that they are throwing in this silly Gabi/David jealousy thing is to bring the FaustiMario situation to a head. Let's face it, Fausto is never going to reveal the he's passing as Mario and why (Mario's relationship to Gabi, her mother, and how Mario pressured Fausto into doing it). He keeps stalling so that David and Abelardo will back off. The reason that they didn't tell Gabi about how David is getting made up to enter the office building is because Fausto thought it was too close to home and would bring her closer to the truth about his false identity. So yet another secret that they are keeping from Gabi. Gabi's husband is now keeping three secrets from her that are affecting his marriage- Fausto's diguise (and why); his disguise for their office ruse; and now his double agent identity. This can't go on. He has to come clean with her if he wants to keep his marriage happy. I think he'll crack and blab it all soon. Maybe if she slaps him again. :)

As for the Elsa-JJ-Ale-Limon situation- I'm sick of it already. I see the point about Cara wanting a family, any family. But I think that dismisses how well Elsa took on the role of mother. She did not get into it and realize she was in over her head. She's a good mother. Caramelo has responded to that and flourished under her influence. I don't think the bond they have formed, beyond the first shopping spree, can be dismissed by just saying Ale can just slip in there and do the same. You can't dismiss the bond formed by patient teaching, listening, wiping tears, hugs, kisses, little talks, tickle fights and laughs, just by exchanging one woman for another. The difference with the Mau-Elsa talk where he suggested distancing Caramelo from Limon and JJ to make things is easier is that he's an outsider like Ale (so understandable), but insider Elsa immediately dismissed that idea because she knew better. JJ, Limon, and even Lucha (insiders), should have known better when Ale made that suggestion and at least LOOKED concerned. Once again, I think Elsa is the only one who consistently thinks about (and asks about) what Cara wants and what's best for her.

I also get Ale's anguish. I really do. But in real life she would have annoyed me with that behavior. In her anguish she should have been thinking about Lucha, Limon and JJ (and even Elsa), and been there as a support for them. Cry in private in the bathroom, take a deep breath, and then come out and be a support to the people who really need it. I would have respected that more.

Vivi:
I wish the best to your friend!

Gabi's husband is now keeping three secrets from her that are affecting his marriage

And that's what David was so afraid of. It seems Gaby's frustration over the lies had to explode somehow... Though the cheating accusation is still out of the blue. David hardly leaves the house.

I think he'll crack and blab it all soon. Maybe if she slaps him again. :)

She should borrow JJ's gun. :)
You're right, something must happen at the Genovés household soon. There's too much emphasis on Adolfo, the various goons, the LETTER, adoption situation, love triangles and blackmails, therefore and the original El camino secreto story and it's great main characters became secondary lately. Actually, some of them are fading away slowly.

As for the second most irritating storyline...
I was talking about the first conversation between Mau and Elsa at episode 77, not the distancing speech. When Mau mentioned they could adopt Caramelo Elsa loved the idea. I rewatched the scene and she did mention Asunción ("we have to think about him, too") but she definitely wanted to adopt the kid. So yes, JJ & co. should've at least mentioned Elsa. They're selfish. But they were not talking about distancing. And Elsa knew this adoption was going to be temporal - as long as JJ can prove his innocence.

No, Ale can't be the second Elsa, but she can be a decent mother. I wish they should've given more scenes together.

Cry in private in the bathroom, take a deep breath, and then come out and be a support to the people who really need it.

She probably thinks everyone hates her because she's the one who lost the children and wouldn't accept her support. She acted well for a few days but eventually the guilt killed her nerves. I can't stand pity parties either, but one day of crying is bearable. Well, weeks and months of self-pity... That would be another story. :)

Woo! You all are already up and running this morning; don't know where to start.

xlnt, loved that Cantore video, LOL! Surprising a weather man; that's what Chicago weather is all about.

Weather nuts love it here. He was surprised to hear thunder twice; but it went on all freakin night. Not the first time either; it happens pretty much every winter at some point.

I'm horrified by Egypt, and I do plainly remember Iran, xlnt. :-( There are still refugees from Iran. A nice couple from Iran live across the street with their new baby.

Vivi, Jerry spent two hours out there shoveling yesterday. He's a polar bear, though. He digs winter.

Were it up to me, I would just take some old shoes, walk around and pack down enough so I can get the bird seed and cat kibbles to the wild critters, and that's it.

Bird seed makes good de-icer on the sidewalk. Better than salt. It's gritty, and the critters pick at it and chip the ice.

Aribeth, we all know Caramelo always wanted EVERYBODY; the question was who was able and willing.

Last night we saw Asunción admit he was a lazy bum who was unworthy of Caramelo, just like we saw. He promised to make her proud of him, so clearly he knows he's screwed up.

Frankly, I never got why anybody would believe Juan José had such a case on Caramelo. I don't see it, and I never have. That she's connected to Asunción I can get. But she barely knows Juan José, and IMO that motivation is pure novela fabrication being forced on us.

So nobody will find me waiting on the edge of my seat for Caramelo to get back with the two men. :-/ One doesn't deserve her and the other is mostly a big blank. No huge satisfaction there.

But they are moving in that direction, and unless Juan José and Elsa get more amicable, that is the reason I felt they might bump her off, leaving no strings hanging and collecting the drama.

P.S. It's -4 F (-20 C). Not as bad as Minot, ND, I suppose.

Thanks, Jeri - clever, detailed,
awesome as always. Muchísimas gracias once again.

Aribeth, thanks for replying to yesterday's comment; I still think Mina could have experienced jealousy of Elsa after the fact
after Elsa had become more entrenched with Mau, accompanied him on a business trip and become engaged, and part of that jealously
lashed out at her. Mina has been very sweet all along but now another side of her appeared.

Like Xlntperuvian, I was disgusted with the story line about Gabi being jealous; this clever novela took a turn towards stupidity.
For some time now, they have shown Gabriela maturing, accepting new challenges, gaining confidence,
working out a trusting relationship with her husband,
going beyond the superficial. Of course, makeup all over your husband's collar is weird, and it's "his" makeup to boot. But then
again, we are all buying the story line of Don Fausto in disguise all these months without detection.

And why would the "señorita" be asking for David's health if he were with her all day? If Gabi starts using her detective skills again, she could have that called traced and locate Dora. It would make sense also to think that Dora would try to find a way to receive news of her beloved son. That's one of the oldest tricks in the book to have someone else make the call.

With the regard to the behaviors of
Ale & company (they all looked liked Wizard of Oz characters) after they left the church. They were positively jubilant about finding the children. We know they will be found, but they don't, and it was not at all realistic how that scene played out. It's one thing to go to church but another to emerge in that manner. No grieving parent would act that way. (Similarly, in the prior scene at home about jumping for Joy at adopting Caramelo). Yes, it's good to try to keep up one's spirits and hope for the best, but this was over the top. Although Ale seems to have improved with regard to the children, I also feel that she believes that JJ won't forgive her if the ultimate occurs, and therefore, there is self interest
here on her part as well.

Now here are my questions,

Why didn't JJ (aka PH) notify
Faidella at least after he had visited the hideout instead of sitting at home? Crime scenes
can give clues.

Why can't Faidella immediately arrest Adolfo for solicitation of murder in regard to JJ? Put him away for awhile at least to prevent further harm?

Enjoyed all the comments.
Jeri, enjoy your beautiful view.

Hello everyone, in a rush because both grandsons will be here soon and I have to prepare the house!!! Jeri, oh yes, my husband I both enjoyed your snow photos. Was the driveway snowplowed? Surely your Jerry didn’t dig that out too! Are there two Jerrys in your house?

I did want to briefly comment on the Gabi jealousy. I understand it a little. It has little to do with David, but more to with the constant lies that are being told to her, she strongly senses the deceptions. We’ve all been in an environment when we feel that everyone knows something important and we have been kept in the dark. That makes you suspicious about everything, you think the worst. Gabi knows subconsciously that something is terribly wrong at the Genoves house and she is grabbing at straws to figure it out. It is so irresponsible the way that Gabi is being treated by Fausto and then by default by David. We know her fears are silly, but all of us are in on game plan. If Fausto isn’t careful, he will seriously hurt the strong relationship that they are building.

Floridia, I wondered why Adolfo wasn't arrested immediately too!

What good comments all around today!

Sandy, LOL, yes, we are "The Jerries." He's Jerome and I'm Jeri on the birth certificate.

He's a great snow shoveler, is he not. He did all of that. The sun came out and the concrete dried right away. He grew up expecting and liking snow.

So glad you enjoyed the pictures. :-)

I wrote a long, appreciative comment that must be floating in cyberspace as it never posted.

Jeri, first, glad you are safe! You are indeed in a winter wonderland. The picture were awesome! Snow - glistening and white - beautiful to behold, painful to deal with. I hope all of our LVO family is persevering and surviving this terrible winter.

Loved the title and "An insult to pumkins everywhere". hee hee...Thank you for capturing Édgar and David's "meeting". A pivotal event for certain.

"Abject torment", "though she's conflicted, he doesn't even chip her stubbornness" and "the sun shines and banishes storm clouds above the four supplicants who are now ready for a miracle" were my favorite lines. Thank you for wonderful summary.

The comments today and thoughtful and thought provoking as always.

Vivi, my best wishes for your friend's continued safety...

David is not a trained actor or a trained policeman. Nor is he versed on self preservation tactics in a crisis situation. It seems to me those skills would be mandatory in dealing with a trained psychpath like Édgar. Leonardo is taking a huge risk with David's safety. Need we remind him David is still recovering from his previously sustained injuries?

Faidella at least after he had visited the hideout instead of sitting at home? Crime scenes

'Coz unfortunately there was no candle inside the pumpkin that night he visited the hideout. :) (Yes, there are candles there, but not always.)

Why can't Faidella immediately arrest Adolfo for solicitation of murder in regard to JJ? Put him away for awhile at least to prevent further harm?

1. He couldn't use Ugly David again, though that was the whole point of the disguise and the scam, and 2. he doesn't have proof - David wasn't wired and only his word would be against Adolfo's...

Somehow David has to make Dolphie believe he killed/tried to kill JJ in order to gain his trust. I can't see another solution.

Jeri, your photos are always amazing. I see Jerry, the son of North loves snow, and shoveling can be fun and good excerise... However, I for one can hardly wait for summer and my annual vacation in Croatia. After workout I got into the infrared sauna: 60 degrees Celsius (140 Fahrenheit?). It was like heaven. For 20 minutes. After 30 minutes I was bored to death.

Thanks, Aribeth for your answers;
loved this one most: "there was no candle in the pumpkin head
that night."

Loved the recap Jeri. I suppose Gabi would think David is stepping out on here with all the secrets he's still keeping and then finding the makeup stain on his clothes.

At least, now David knows that Edgar has sided with the baddies and that JJ is the intended target for assassination.

Now that Alex has mentioned that she wants to adopt Caramelo what does that mean for Elsa? Caramelo is already attached to her and calls her Mommy.

David, is the major galan of this novela so I guess he will save the day with his Hernandez disguise trap to bring down Adolfo. I find it a little more farfetched than the other plots like the Mario disguise, as mentioned, which though a stretch ends up believable due to the great acting and fast moving plot. I just may find it hard to watch Hernandez and his nasal clearing for 20 more episodes.

Gabi went off the handle but she is thoroughly stressed out with all that has been asked of her with her supposedly taking over the business and all the strange happenings at the house. She should have more faith in David but the makeup, not the phone call, is really suspicious. I would probably fly off the handle with that one too.

Jeri, wonderful recap and I used the links. The photos are amazing and thanks for taking care of the wildlife. I always worry about the animals whenever there is some kind of extreme natural event.

I hate to admit it but I miss Psycho Eddie and Braless.

GinCA

GinCA:
I just may find it hard to watch Hernandez and his nasal clearing for 20 more episodes.

Tell me about it... I'm watching episode 98 right now and after 60 seconds I wanted to hit him with a shovel and send him to an otolaryngologist.

Ulises and Psycho Eddie are fantastic, and Braless is very entertaining, too.

Jeri, thanks for the recap and links.

There's nothing I can add to all the great comments made. Enjoyed reading it all.

Ann-NYC

GinCA, “I just may find it hard to watch Hernandez and his nasal clearing for 20 more episodes.” ......Why would our handsome David convert himself into a dirty cop with a MAJOR post nasal drip, what’s with that? Wouldn’t a sexy arched eyebrow kind of a thing have been just as good and a bit easier to watch? Go figure! That’s what David gets for going off on this goofy makeup/Hernandez tangent without having Gabi in the loop, she would have nixed the hurmmmmph, hurmmmmph sniffle/cough deal the first thing.

OK, I am having a few problems with our Braveheart arresting poor Elsa for INNOCENTLY selling hot jewelry and then letting Adolfo sits in his comfy condo after admitting to kidnapping two children and ordering a hit on Juan Jose Victoria... Both JJ and David can testify to his shenanigans.

I'm remembering that video Aribeth showed us of Gabriel playing a nerd in a previous telenovela.

Until I saw that, I wouldn't have thought a jock like him could be weird and gawky, but that convinced me.

So not having a hard time believing the commandante; but all that post nasal drip is still kinda icky.

Sandy, Hope you had fun with your grandsons today. Apparently, the cops need iron-clad evidence on Adolfo. Until then, he is like the mobsters of old, he is one of the UNTOUCHABLES.

Jeri, thanks for the recap. I hadn't caught that Adolfo asked "Hernandez" why he wasn't wearing a gun. Hmmm, Adolfo may know this is a trap. Thanks for sharing your snow pics - beautiful. I will now stop complaining when I have to shovel/sweep an inch.
