Triunfo del Amor #29 2/10/11 A triumph of loose lips

Bernarda is not liking the looks of her prospective granddaughter. "Um. I just wanted to meet you, that's all." Maria Magdalena sobs "Whaddaya want?!" Bernie goes back to the car, smiling. She tells her crew that she found "her" but they've got to get out of there--she can't stand the smell.

Linda bids the models goodbye. As they're leaving the dressing room, Fer comes rushing in, all excited, to tell Linda that last night was ALL about her (not that she doesn't already think every night is ALL about her) and she had the best makeup and blah, blah, blah, giggle, giggle! Linda tells her that with or without makeup she's beautiful. Fer invites her to lunch and Linda whips off her smock. Yikes! Shoulda kept it on. What decent restaurant's going to let her in the door in that scrap of a top.

Cruz dictates some more love letters to a typist.

Fer admires the way Linda was willing to let herself get run over by an SUV just to get a job. OK, not only is that just a scrap of a tube top, but she also has it zipped down partway. And if she had a decent-looking rack, there might be a point to that, but I do NOT need to see that much sternum. Find a better plastic surgeon to put on retainer, Televisa. Fer asks if Linda has a boyfriend, then she whines that she doesn't get to see her boyfriend much because her parents don't like him. Linda helpfully says she'll help Fer see her loser boyfriend whenever she wants to. Fer is ready to run out right now and buy a "Best Friends" pendant that splits in half. Linda does the cheap version and eats something off of Fer's plate.

Vic is upset that she keeps chickening out on telling Osvaldo the truth and she doesn't want to hear Antonieta criticizing her for it. She wonders how she can tell Osvaldo about Padilla already, damnit! Antonieta says it's not just that, but what's she going to do if JP finds their daughter.

One of the models crows about Osvaldo doing a series that will be broadcast internationally. Linda listens with interest, but I don't know what she's scheming.

Osvaldo daydreams about Linda. Loser. He says he just can't go there! He's got to save his marriage to Vic!

They just keep showing more and more of Linda's outfit and it gets worse the more of it I see! And those abs are just not attractive! That's not muscle! It's loose skin and ribs! When did Skeletor get cast in this show? And why couldn't they just have him wear the damn robe like he always did back in the day? Anyway, she's calling production at Televisa pretending to be a reporter wanting to do an interview with Os. The ever-helpful Televisa production staff tell her where Osvaldo is filming.

Os calls Victoria at work. He's waiting for his call time. She asks how he can be so contemplative. She always has to be doing something. "You don't know how to enjoy the silence." Vic says she's always working. Hey? What are you trying to imply? She tells him that Oscar will be coming over to the house late tonight to work allllll night--wink, wink, nudge, nudge. Os would much rather they just work tomorrow. You know. AT WORK. He asks her for a date that night, but she turns him down. She's just too busy with the Miami show and all. "Don't worry hun. I'll just call up my skank ho girlfriend. No worries." No, he doesn't say that. Just in case you had doubts. And that's COLD when a man asks his own wife for a date and she says no. I would NEVER do that. Especially if Mr. 5ft wanted to take me to Fleming's for steak and chocolate lava cake. Just saying.

Bernarda remembers Maria Magdalena. Fausto asks what her plans are. "I have to think about it. I'm going to consult The Lord."

"The Lord" has apparently agreed with Bernarda (as usual) that Maria needs to be put down. And not verbally. A bright light suddenly shines on Bernarda and it looks like she, at least, believes it to be some kind of sign from "The Lord."

Padre JP goes looking for Maria Magdalena. He gets pointed in the direction of the neighborhood cantina.

Linda tries to convince JuanJo to buy a newer car, but he says cars are too expensive. He says when they get married, they'll see. And he's in a hurry for her to be "la dueña de mis quincenas" (the owner of my every-fifteen-days [referring to a semi-monthly paycheck]). She downgrades her request to a coffee and a big 'ol slice of chocolate cake. This he agrees to.

Max and Maria attend a party with Max's godchildren. It's the bald guy's birthday and he gets his face shoved in the cake. Maria is holding a sleeping Martincito and Max just can't wait for the two of them to have their own kids.

At the cantina, Padre JP is having a hard time with the smell. It's all hazy and red-lit, as are all establishments of ill repute. The barman says Maria is there and he'll send her over to the Padre's table in a little bit. Gross! As she comes over, her last trick tucks payment for her services into her top.

Fer comes home and finds the rose from her lovesick gardener. She goes to speak to him about it. She yells at him for being in her room without permission and asks what he stole. He says he just went up there to leave her the flower to ask forgiveness for stealing a kiss. She accuses him of being afraid she'll run to her parents. He says a stolen kiss isn't a kiss. A kiss should come from the heart and move slowly, until it reaches the lips. He says it's like he never kissed her. "Oh, fine, so you think you can just go around kissing people and then asking them to forget it! No way!" "What? It's not like you liked it." "No! It's the worst kiss I've ever had in my life!" She threatens him with firing if he goes into her room again. He says if he gets fired, she'll miss him. Fer mumbles about him being stupid, but she can't help smiling at him dancing with his rake. Mr. 5ft cracks me up by saying "She just can't help herself. She wants that naco lovin'. Sometimes no other lovin' will do." The whole language, and he's learned "naco" and "tiburones." That's my man.

Padilla brings Fed to "their" new apartment. He also got Fed some nice clothes and rented them a decent car. He wants Fer's parents to think he's made some money so they'll accept Fed as a son-in-law. He wants Fed to stop talking like a naco in front of Fer's parents and he's going to make him get a haircut. It's kind of gonna suck if he cleans up good.

Fer sniffs her rose and reminisces about her gardener talking about kisses.

Padre JP is asked to comply with the one-drink-minimum for chatting with the whores. He orders a "refresco" (a soft drink). Maria Magdalena assumes that the sisters sent him to try to get her to renounce her wicked ways. But, no, you see--she's too smart for that! She's not gonna work as a maid or be chained to a sewing machine when she can be making decent money whoring. "You know how to sew?" Dun, dun, dun!

Gui and Os discuss a two-man play that Gui has just bought the rights to and wants to produce. He wants Os to partner with him, and also act in it.

Linda has convinced JuanJo to take her to a café near the place where Gui and Os are filming. She tells him to get them a table while she goes to see Os.

Linda tells Os she's only with JuanJo because Os turned her down. She came to find him, so she can tell him she's crazy in love with him and she'll wait for him forever if she needs to. She lays a big kiss on him, in front of EVERYBODY, including guys with CAMERAS! (Damn, what's with the all caps? These people are irritating me tonight.)

I am totally gonna watch Bodas Inolvidables.

Maria Magdalena's been sewing since she was little. And now the interview is over, because her clients are waiting. She's not interested in finding out who her parents are, especially not her mother who abandoned her, and her nameless father. Who is this actress? It's gonna bug me. Maria Magdalena moves on to her next trick. A slight fellow whose head can easily rest on her bosoms without stooping.

Padre JP cries to God about the fate he believes has befallen his offspring. His supervisor asks what's up. Padre JP says he's got a lot of guilt. He's found his daughter, and it ain't pretty. He talked to her and it was painful, because she's sunk as low as a woman can sink and it's all his fault. He asks for forgiveness, but I don't think his confessor's blessing makes him feel any better.

Victoria asks Fer to come with her to Miami, but she decides not to. She says Vic has been going around yelling lately and she doesn't want to leave Fed. "You knew his dad before, right?"

Maria D puts her "kid" to bed and tells him a story. Basically, it's about him.

Vic insists that Padilla is mistaken because she never met him before. Fer says she doesn't care if Vic doesn't like Fed, she's keeping the mangy mutt!

Os leaves the filming while Pedro and Gui keep working.

Linda prances around the apartment in her underwear, complaining to Nathy that Pipino was wrong to say she doesn't have the body to be a model. When JuanJo comes a knockin', Skeletor…or perhaps Skele-ho would be more appropriate?...hides behind the door. He's come to give her a little bit of money for the wedding so she can start saving up. He's intrigued at the idea of getting a look at her in her skivvies, but they keep him from coming into the apartment. I was afraid he might be giving her all the wedding money at once, but she sneers at the amount and gives it to Nathy. Nathy tells Linda Osvaldo is NEVER coming back to her, because he loves his WIFE. Linda says soon, Os will be back in her skeletal arms. Nathy doesn't think JuanJo deserves this treatment. Linda gripes.

Vic and Fer are just waiting for Os to come home and have dinner. He's surprised, since he thought they would have eaten without him. "Since you were going to be working ALL night with Oscar." Fer tells her dad he's making a big deal out of nothing. Max won't be coming home for dinner. Fer tells Vic that Max is probably with Maria. Dun, dun, dun!

Max and Maria talk in his plastic car. She describes what she always thought her wedding would be like and says this is far from being her dream. Max promises one day she'll get her wedding. Maria says she can live without her dream wedding, but she can't live without him. Max thinks she's being silly, since she'll never have to live without him. Smoochies.

Fer laughs at Vic for not knowing the company gossip. "The other models think that's why you keep favoring her." Vic says she suspected it, but there's no proof. Os tells her not to intervene. Max is a man and if she tries to run his life, he'll leave home and they'll lose him. "But Max is my son, and she's just…" "Your favorite model, mom, so come off your high horse." Vic says she's just an employee and she can fire her tomorrow. Max HAS to marry Ximena. The maid announces Padre JP, who needs to speak to Vic ASAP.

Bernie tries to beg the Mother Superior not to give Padre JP the address of "that girl." Well, it's a done deal, despite Bernie's objections and she hangs up the phone angrily.

Vic joins Padre JP in the festival of tears. She's pissed he didn't drag her out of there, but he was in shock. She demands the address so she can do the "corazon de madre" (heart of a mother) test. Cause DNA is so passé.

Pipino demands that Antonieta to make a snap decision about which model to put in which dress. He asks Antonieta why Maria is moving up the ranks so quickly. Not that she isn't a good model, but…. Antonieta says maybe Vic wishes her daughter was more like Maria. She lets slip that she wasn't referring to Fer. "Don't tell me the Victoria has another daughter and none of us knew it?"

Maria Magdalena rubs her tired feet after a long night of whoring. She gets up to answer the door, smacking her gum, and Victoria cries and calls her "hija" (daughter).

Padre JP paces in his room and talks to God some more. "Help Victoria. She needs you now more than ever."

Maria M asks if she's crazy. "I'm not your daughter! Why are you all emotional if you don't even know me? What do you want?" Vic tries to get more info out of her. Maria M says the nuns found her walking around alone, crying, and she could barely speak, except for her name, "Maria."

Sweet William Levy in a kayak!

Tomorrow: Ximena declares war on Maria D.

I meant to do a better job of keeping up with recaps and commenting, but alas, people kept coming in to work early and interrupting my coffee-and-recap time! Rehearsals start on Saturday, so, no worries...it will only get worse :D

Oh, oh! I've got it! She was Martina! The blacksmith's daugher on MEPS...the one who pretended to be a nurse, but she was really a mud wrestler!

Now I can sleep tonight :D

Great recap 5ft. I especially loved your treatment of LindaHo. I completely agree about the sternum. I was utterly distracted during the Fer/Linda lunch exchange because I couldn't stop thinking about how bad her plastic surgery was. In fact I was nauseous through most of this episode. Why did we have to see SO MUCH of LindaHo? Seriously. Are they trying to get the male audience?

Did anyone else notice that María Desamparada is now wearing scarves? For the love, wardrobe department...lose the scarves.

I am really enjoying the Fer/Cruz storyline. The music they use is great. I can't wait to see the taming of the Ferbeast. I agree about RatTatScuzzBoy...I hope he doesn't clean up well. I'll admit, when he was upset about the stolen watch I thought maybe there was a chance at redemption. But after the date rape...no way. I am very concerned that Fer may end up pregnant. As will la verdadera María (they were pretty heavy handed with that foreshadowing at the party.)

So the fact that María Desarreglada can sew is going to be the proof that she is Vic's daughter? Dear Lord, these people are dumb. I may have to take my beanie out for a tune up this week-end.

And if I may blather on. I'm a little worried about Sor Clementina. Burnie was not happy last night. And where did that bright light come from?

Padre JP and Victoria still have a ways to go to find the truth. Quite frankly, I'm worried about what Bernarda will do when she finds out the truth.

I didn't need to see that much of LindaHo either. I think this was about how much of a Ho she really is.

Forget about cleaning up RatTatScuzzBoy; it's time to clean up Cruz! We know what's behind that 5 o'clock shadow, so why are they depriving us of his true beauty? He needs a shave and a traje de charro. Ayer.

Osvaldo is going to fall into Linda's trap again.

So Ximena and her mother are broke and she needs to marry Max to pay the rent? I wonder if Victoria knows this. At least we now know whom she cheated on Max with.

Kat: I was laughing the entire time! Loved this: "DNA is so passe". HA! I could not stop laughing!

Am away again and will miss so many capitulos on the telly, but will faithfully check the blog daily. You wonderful recappers are ESPECIALLY appreciated by those of us whose work interrupts our Daily Dose of Univision! MUCHISIMAS GRACIAS!!

UA: ITA...get the hair off that lovely Cruz face and get it done NOW!

I thought they showed too much of Linda Ho several capitulos back when she had on a tank top that went to her thighs, but looked like it was painted on her body. One could see even then that the woman is beyond skinny. I noted that bad boob job some time ago. It simply does not look natural. I fail to see what man finds that attractive, but I suppose there are those who do.

Methinks that Maria Desarreglada (thanks Sara...Perfecto!!) is not long for this world. THEN...what are JP and Vic going to do?

Meant to mention that I like the fact that someone has listened to us and had JP wash his hair. Now...how about a shave and a trim and we'd have one hot looking Padre!!!

Kat: I, too was wondering where we had seen M Desarreglada before. You're right! She was on MEPS.

Speaking of MEPS, I think Ximena still has that dazed looked like she had the ENTIRE time on MEPS.

Agree...WARDROBE...are you listening?! Get rid of the scarves...there's a time and a place for everything, but NOT every day!!!

Susanita

Kat, another fantastic recap. No one does snark better than you: "What decent restaurant's going to let her in the door in that scrap of a top" and "Fer is ready to run out right now and buy a "Best Friends" pendant that splits in half". Excellent!

I wish I could care about a few of the lead characters more. Love Victoria Ruffo, but "Vicki" is cold and dismissive. The good Padre is too "mommy whipped" and Os who showed great promise is a wuss without restraint.

I was wondering who MM was as well. Great job in identifying her.

Susanita, you're right - Ximena does look dazed and confused - the same look she modeled in MEPS.

Liking Maite but am curious as to why she and Levy lack the hot chemistry they had in CCEA.

Pablo Montero - hot and definitely the bright spot here.

Diana

Thanks for the recap, Kat. Funny, snarky and had me GOL (guffawing out loud.)

"Naco" and "tiburones", eh? My kind of guy!

"And where did that bright light come from?" Sara - Satan must have a very big flashlight..... ;o)

Ximena is still suffering from the years of being drugged at Dr. Obregón's manicomo as her alter-ego "Lili", over at MEPSland.
That's my theory and I'm sticking with it.

So Linda & Ferbeast are now BFFs. Eeewwwww.

About the scarves -- the two gay guys (Kirk and whats-his-name) on GLEE were scarfed out like that this week, too.

"Satan must have a very big flashlight"
Hilarious, Doris!

I *wish* my husband knew "naco" and "tiburones". He can only seem to get "bubis" . *Insert annoyed face here*. I'm glad he was sleeping when LindaHo bared all last night.

Diana- I agree about Os. There was so much promise to his character. What happened? I can say that about a lot of characters actually. Right now I think my faves are Pip, Toni, Nati, Fab and Cruz (who I noticed last night had an almost 5:30 shadow.)

Thanks Kat. Very nicely done as always, and of course hilarious.

I'm enjoying Maria Desarreglada, but it's kind of like watching a mouse that's been dropped into a snake's cage... just a matter of time.

My favorite couple right now... Cruz and Fer. They've had very good chemistry from the beginning. I love how she was waiting for that next kiss that never came. They are clearly meant for each other. All the more reason to bump off RatTatScuzzBoy... now!

Drat, la Llamada de la Sangre certainly let us down this time, though I think it was more of a matter of Victoria convincing herself before ever setting eyes on MD2.

Carlos

Kat thanks for your recap. Your comments so sum up how I feel about Linda-ho (now Skele-ho) from the needing an improved plastic surgeon to poor viewerville being tormented by seeing way too much of this character.

Diana and Sara - yes, Os did have promise and now he's just an idiot. Though Vic pushes the limits of most, no one deserves infidelity.

NovelaMaven and Sara - thanks so much for your great recap. I got behind and only recently read your posts.

I think if tatoo boy did fix himself up and her parents had a change of opinion about him Fer would dump him.

What was the point of the date rape?
Fer has already proved that she would sleep with tatoo boy so why the need for drugs, i just dont get it.

Drat. Meant to ask....how does Univision decide what gets censored. Linda showed an awful lot of pompi last night.

And I have a general TN question that does not pertain to TdA. May I ask it here?

Ebony- I think the drugs were so Fer would be too loopy to demand protection. Papa Padilla want RatTattScuzzBoy to have to marry Fer so he can get some money.

Sara, ask away! The only thing our blog mom requests is that we not discuss the actors personal lives.

Diana

Ask away, Sara!

What blows my mind is Padilla's idea that he could get any money out of Victoria. Hell, if I were Victoria I'd probably try to pay off RatTatScuzzboy to stay away from the Ferbeast.

Padre Hottie would look more so with a neat beard, like something out of an Alexandre Dumas novel.

Diana: Glad to find someone who agrees with me! Check my profile pic.

Kat funny recap as always thanks a lot and good catch on the actress playing Maria M. i was racking my brain i knew i seen her before but i couldn't remember.

I'm glad i wasn't the only one who notice that Jimena is still looking like Lili from MEPS.All drugged up and MEPS is playing on Telefutura at 4:00pm in the afternoon.

LOL from all of the scarves comments.

Victoria really does have some nerve so Maria D. isn't good enough to be Max"s wife but scuzzy druggie looking broke cheating Jimena is? Wait until she finds out mother and daughter's finances and how her desired future daughter in law is sleeping with Os supposed BF Gui.

What's that old saying be careful what you wish for.

Thanks, 5ft Latina, for another fabulous tour through the Lives of the Rich and Ridiculous.

I don't know about you, but I was pretty impactada to learn that María La de la Cantina had the sewing gene. Maybe we were all looking in the wrong direction. Maybe it's La Desamparada who's the 'other' María :)

I loved it when JuanJo, who is not only dumb, but also apparently blind, called LindaHo (or should I say SkeleHo) "chaparrita" (Yeah, yeah, I know -- fat guys get called 'flaco' and all that -- but it still cracked me up when he said it)

Kat- Wonderful as always. And I love your banter with Mr. 5 ft.

I missed Wed's episode, so I was particularly impactada when Linda whipped off her smock to reveal that denim number and her ribcage. We can not blame Televisa for the bad boob job (and lipo I'm guessing). She came from Argentina that way. I think Televisa's actresses have way better boob jobs. Linda is a (super) skinny girl with huge fake tatas, and probably an equally fake trasero. But that is what people call "curvy" these days. Go figure!

I did not see the FerBeast/LindaHo pairing coming. Should be interesting when the one finds out the other is her beloved papi's lover.

Nice to see mud wrestling/nurse/body guard Martina again. She lost that sweet baby voice she had as Martina, for the whiskey soaked growl of Maria Desarreglada. Can't wait to see how that train wreck situation plays out. :)

Urban Antrhopologist: Father JP as a Dumas character, your wish was granted before you made it.

Jarocha

I don't get this network anymore. However, if Latele shows it I will tune in.

But why modern dress? Arg!

Kat: "When did Skeletor get cast in this show? And why couldn't they just have him wear the damn robe like he always did back in the day?" I choked on my afternoon trago reading that --gotta remember not to sip till AFTER I finish the recap!! LOL!

Thanks to all for the wonderful recap and funny comments. They keep me watching.

I'm not sure what to say about any of it! Surreal.

I go back and forth on who is more selfish, Victoria or Osvaldo. Victoria is winning: "don't make me move to the guestroom!"

I have always liked the actress who plays Maria Desarreglada (inspired name). She has to good sense to want to stay away from these people.

UA: Budetary reasons maybe. And the format was like that since it was a remake of an Argentinian novela.

The only novela de época made in TV Azteca that I remember was Azul Tequila with Barbara Mori and Mauricio Ochman, around 9 years ago. But they filmed in rural locations in Jalisco to simulate the home of the "caciques" of the nineteenth century. I imagine the opulence of Montecristo would be much more expensive to invest in case the novela didn't work. It was a hit though.

Jarocha

Finally! I am home and can ask my question. (I am only able to comment via my droid at work, which is tedious at best.)

Anyhoo, What renders a TN prime-time worthy? I see all the TNs advertised for the afternoon hours and I wonder what the difference is between, say Mar de Amor or Atrévete a Soñar and Llena, Eva or Triunfo?

OH Jarocha! My heart is breaking! I don't anything but Univision and I now want to see Montecristo. *sniff* Padre is a hottie indeed in that one.

Wonder how long it would take to get DirectTV or Dish Latino...

Sara- The answer to your question is complicated.

A show is likely put on in the day in the US if: It's meant for a younger audience (Atrevete; Camaleones); is poor quality; has poor ratings in Mexico.

A show gets prime time spots if: The producer has a LOT of clout; the stars are HUGE (Colugna; Lucero); it was extremely popular/a hit in Mexico; the stars are really popular amongst US Latin audiences; it's being produced by the a major US company (Eva Luna).

But even if it has some of these elements (hug stars; producer with power) it can still be sent to the timeslot graveyard if the ratings are poor (Corazon Salvaje) or a show they expect to be a hit is on the way and want to open up a slot for it (Gancho).

There are also some crazy exceptions to the rules. Many of has been watching La Verdad Oculta, which is on at midnight. It's an excellent novela (and I'm not just saying that), has big stars, and by a popular producer. And yet it took them 4 years to bring it to the US, and it's being shown at midnight. It will be replaced by another excellent novela that just ended in Mexico called Para Volver a Amar. Nothing but good reviews for that one, with a great cast of popular actors, yet it's being put on a midnight. The only reason we can see for the two of these being put on during the graveyard shift is because they fall outside of the normal formula of novelas.

"Many of us have been watching LVO..."

Sorry for the typos.

Thanks for the info Vivi. I guess that kind of opens up another question: How behind are we here in the states. I believe STuD was about a month (give or take.) And another question would be are there ever instances that a show's rating are low in Mexico, but high here (or vice versa)?

Sorry about all the questions. I guess one more question should be, aside from blog mom's other site, what TN sites would y'all recommend to a TN newbie. Oh, and where can one find out what Univison is planning in the future. I couldn't seem to find in on their site.

Sorry for posting so much today!

I've got plenty of typos!

Thanks for the info about the show replacing LVO. I might be interested in seeing that one...that is, if it gets recapped. Half the fun is the recaps! ;-)

Thanks, Kat! Laughed all the way through your recap, especially at Mr. 5ft's comments on "naco lovin'." Cruz upgraded his straw hat to a better one, I see. Loved the dance with the rake.
La Paloma

Sara- It seems that we are usually anywhere between 1 month to 9 months behind (sometimes more). I think it depends on scheduling. For example, because CS was moved to midnight, they seemed to rush bringing the next 9pm novela- STUD. I don't think the original plan was to start it so soon after the Mexico start. For a while they put on double episodes of Dinero (quite a challenge for us recappers) to make up for the empty hour.

I'm not on any other novela sites, but I'm sure others can recommend something.

Oh, and Eva Luna is having its original run here in the US (and a few other South American countries). It has not been shown yet in Mexico.

I seem to think we aren't too far behind on Triunfo, either. But I could be crazy.

No worries on the OT questions. I do that a lot too.

I noticed that most 9pm shows here are also 9pm shows in the Canal de ls estrellas in Mexico. Suffice it to say we get what they get. I also noticed that we are mostly 3-4 months behind on average. I think Stud is the only show that was maybe a month behind and I did not follow it regularly. I think Triunfo in Mexico is on episode 35-40. I could be wrong.

It makes sense that the yout oriented programs are in the 2-3 pm timeslot. Enough time for middle school, highschool and some college students to watch after arriving from school. My theory on the midnight hour of new shows like La verdad oculta, is maybe a more mature content. It looks well done and I try to catch what I can but get sidetracked with other activitites. I think before the exiled Corazon Salvaje to the midnight hour, they just showed re runs then. A rerun of Tontas follows LA verdad oculta.

Ibarramedia

I think it is an anomaly for Eva Luna to be first run here and the reason for that is because it is produced in the US and probably made here too.

So naturally we get the first showing.

Ibarramedia

Thank you, Kat! I am just about to read. :)

OT: I just have to post this line by Arnold about his return to acting and the roles he chooses. Something our friends at Televisa should follow.

One thing is for certain with this comeback: Don't expect to see Schwarzenegger stepping back into heavy action territory. During the same interview, he noted, "Extreme fighting and shooting isn't possible for me anymore. In the future I'll need to pick my roles according to my age."

Rest of article is here:

Ibarramedia

Sara: The rest of the timeslot answer is that Televisa gets prime time here due to their deal. A lot of the early afternoon ones are from Venezuela.

There is another ratings issue which is that both Univision and Televisa -- as the leading networks for their primary audiences -- want to maintain very big leads, like equivalent of being ten car lengths ahead in a race. Univision will move a program that may be higher-rated than Telemundo's but not what it regards as sufficiently higher.

BTW, Univision intends to be the #1 network in the US. Punto. It sometimes is on the nights of prime time novela finales.

According to telenovela world, Mexico is on capitulo 80 & the US is on capitulo 30. The discrepancy in our chapter #'s, 29 as opposed to 35, could be that Mex has some half hour episodes.

It's interesting to me that Mexico does half hour episodes. I guess that's why some episodes here seen so full of action/plot lines etc.

Americans of whatever ethnicity are accustomed to getting drama in one-hour doses. I remember watching
Dark Shadows back in the day and wishing it were an hour long because it felt too short. US soaps starting going to the hour format in the 70s.

Urban, I thought Dark Shadows, which followed General HOspital, was an hour? I used to watch the two of them while I was a stay at home mother. I used to get so upset over that program, that many times I closed my eyes and held my ears ROTF

Thanks for the recap.
I am wondering what is the relationship between Marie D and Bernada?
