Llena de Amor #141 (Mex. 146) Thu 3/3/11 The Kristelinator Turns Oliver's World Upside Down,Gretel Starts Living Another Nightmare And Medusa Slithers Out Of The Slammer

Recap by Audrey

Repeats from last night of people’s reactions when they find out Fedra is getting out of jail: Tio Maximo swears he is going to get his pistol to prevent Fedra from returning to the family home; Marinela calls Gretel to get the files out of her bedroom at the pension and bring them to comisario Tejeda’s office; Capitán José swears to Netty that he will personally guarantee that no one will hurt her or he niece ever again; And Gretel tells Netty that now that Fedra is getting out of jail, she’s going to protect her from Fedra as long as she lives. She tells Netty that Fedra is not her real mother - much to Netty’s shock.

Kristel at the Agency where staff is preparing a set for some kind of commercial that Kristel has dragged Oliver in to do. Oliver is not looking too comfortable, but since Kristel needs a “real man” to fill this role he seems intent on obliging.

Kristel is busy schmoozing Lorenzo, reminding him that he agreed to indulge all her whims. Lorenzo is not so sure about this commercial. He tries to explain to Kristel that Oliver is a “naco”, not a model. But Kristel tells him she doesn’t want a pre-fabricated man to do the shoot. She wants a natural one, and one that is “wild”. Then Kristel starts sweet talking Lorenzo about how “grateful” she’s going to be if he’ll just approve and sign this contract. Well, Lorenzo melts at that.

Back to setting up the photo shoot. Kristel starts really blowing sunshine up Oliver’s pant leg about his incredibly sexy manliness. Ooops, it looks like Oliver is taking it all in. But Oliver is just not so sure he’s willing to do this model bit. Kristel lays it out the way she sees the world. By being a model, Oliver can make some serious money. Gosh, he can travel to Dubai, Turkey, Bariloche, wearing the latest fashionable clothes, things he would never in his life imagine having. His life would completely change. Oliver: “Who told you I needed any of that?” “Oh! You no, of course not. But my sister, yes!” Gretel was born in a golden crib. Oliver’s going to have to save if he wants to be with Gretel. Oliver’s not buying that. Gretel only asks for love from him and he can give her a tons of that. Kristel cleverly points out “what ‘lame’ places are you planning to take Gretel for your honeymoon, when Gretel has always dreamed since she was a young girl of spending her honeymoon in the Costa Azul?” “Oops, is that really expensive?” asks Oliver warily. “Sure it is.” replies Kristel. “But gee Olly - with this photo shoot you should be at least able to pay for the plane tickets.” Oliver’s eyes bug out when he sees the numbers in the contract. “Is this for real?” He can’t get over it. “I get paid all this just to smile at the camera? Smiling is my forte,” he confidently declares and shows one off. Oliver falls for all this hook line and sinker, signs the contract “con mucho gusto” accompanied by lots of patronizing fussing over him by Kristel. As soon as he signs, Kristel yells for makeup. Doris appears and asks “Oliver? What are you doing here?” “Modeling.” “What?”

Gretel is still talking with Netty at the pension. Gretel always knew deep down inside she couldn’t be the daughter of that woman. Gretel explains how Fedra told her she carries RyD blood in her veins, but her Tia Carlota would not let her father marry her birth mother. But Netty tells Gretel that she loved Emiliano all her life, but she never had a child. Poor Gretel, she realizes Netty is not her real mother. She picks up the folders and runs off very upset saying “I was wrong, I was wrong!” leaving a bewildered Netty behind.

Benigno is escorting Paula out food shopping. He is so happy the General finally left the basement. But how could Paula turn down his marriage proposal? She has her reasons. Oops, Paula left her bag of onions behind. Benigno runs off to look for it. When he comes back, Paula has disappeared!

Back at the RyD mansion, Emanuel walks around the corner. (Dang, Emanel looks good! Freshly shaved. Those clothes fit so well. Hmmm - I may have replayed this bit a few times.) He’s noisily munching on grapes. He runs right into Ilitia with her brazos cruzados. “Wow, you appeared! Might one know where and with whom you spent the night?” she demands. (OK - I’m already laughing. We saw Emanuel wake up in bed with Jorge with that chastity chest of drawers on the bed between them. That was hilarious - and how did that piece of furniture never topple onto either one of them?) Ilitia continues: “It couldn’t have been with that flamenca because she was here last night.” Emanuel explains he can’t answer - his mouth is full! “Oh, you must have been with Marianela. You’ve been seeing her behind my back, right?” asks Ilitia. “Ilitia, we’re divorcing, remember? So I don’t have to give you explanations. But here - have a grape! No? They’re great! They’re more in the kitchen.” Ilitia vows once again that no one is stealing her baybee!

Doris is with Oliver in makeup. Oliver is boasting how this is all going to help him save money for when he and Gretel marry. They are interrupted by Andre and Jackie making yet another escena de celos as Jackie has caught Andre yet again in suspicious physical interactions with other models. “Aren’t you bored with having a different woman every part of the day?” asks Doris. “Please get out of my dressing room. I’m making up a ‘real man’.” “You must be jealous!” concludes Andre. Doris has a long winded explanation as to how she’s not. Andre doesn’t buy that for a second. He leaves after giving Doris a flirtatious goodbye and calls Oliver a galán. Oliver: “Wow, what a pain-in-the-ass that guy is!” “If Andre found out how I sigh over him. Well, I would fall into the floor.” replies Doris. Back to work!

Ilitia is with some model agency boss, signing a contract for modeling work. Oh, she’s so delighted to have gotten this contract. She really needs work to distract herself from her personal life. There is this “mujercita” and this other “mujersota” who are both determined to steal her husband. The boss lady is not looking so impressed by Ilitia sharing her personal life details. “It’s always the same with you Ilitia. Forget your personal problems. Concentrate, please!” The modeling boss doesn’t want to have to nag her about her work.

But Ilitia does need one thing for this job. She needs a body guard for the whole time. She doesn’t want anyone to assault her. Boss lady doesn’t think that’s going to be a problem in Acapulco and Ilitia is exaggerating. “But, fine, go ahead. Hire a bodyguard and the agency will cover the expenses.” Ooo - Ilitia looks very pleased with the idea.

Victoria marches into comisario Tejeda’s office. “You can’t let Fedra free!” she implores. “Sorry,” says the commissioner, “but Bernardo Izquierdo declared himself guilty of the fraud and after his confession there is nothing I can do to detain Fedra.” “But Gretel is on her way with the evidence we have against that woman.” cries Victoria. “I hope so. Because without that evidence, my hands are tied.” answers Tejeda.

Garduño is at the jail crooning at Fedra through the bars. “I hope after this you will forgive Fonseca for betraying you by refusing to marry your daughter.” “Hmmmm” gargles Fedra back. “Pretend it never happened. We’ll keep being partners ‘como si nada’.” “I’ll never forget it was you who got me out of prison,” swears Garduño, “and I am not a ungrateful man, Señora Curiel. For me, it’s a pleasure to be able to return the favor.” and he hands Fedra an envelope through the bars as Gretel walks up behind him. (Gretel! What on earth are you doing confronting your nemesis alone even if she is behind bars? Typical telenovela hubris of the innocent always wanting to walk right into the lion’s den and then so surprised when they get devoured.)

“Oh Gretel, mi vida,” sneers Fedra “I always knew sooner or later you could come to see me.” Garduño excuses himself. Gretel daringly lists Fedra’s crimes including murder. “Only you are able to associate yourself with those kinds of rats, right?” asserts Gretel. “Because I’m behind bars you think you can say whatever you want, but you haven’t conquered me yet, Gretel.” slimes Fedra back. “Even behind these bars I can destroy your life, do you understand me?” ( Hissssssssss — I feel like I’m watching a cobra sight it’s prey. )

Gretel wants to know from her lips: “who is my real mother?” “Me” says Fedra with evil pleasure. “But here is the woman who gave birth to you” and hands her the envelope Garduño just gave her. Gretel rips open the envelope and finds a picture of Paula being escorted down the street by mobster Dandi, no less. She is shocked and horrified.

Kristel is in Lorenzo’s office where she has laid Oliver’s contract on his desk and kisses all over Lorenzo thanking him for approving the contract. He can deny her nothing, Lorenzo says. And he has a surprise for her. He’s already talked to Muñeca and asked for a divorce because he’s willing to put everything on the line for her. “Whoa! Slow down, calm yourself” says Kristel. “Remember first you have to formally ask my daddy for my hand.” How can you even think I would do that” asks Lorenzo. “That’s crazy! We have to run away together, because your dad will never ever accept our relationship.” Well if he won’t do that then no way is he willing to risk everything for her, Kristel complains and starts to march out of his office. Lorenzo chases after he: “Mi amor,” kissing on her. “OK, I”ll talk to your dad. I promise as soon as I have my divorce, I”ll go talk to your dad.” “You swear?” asks Kristel. “Swear to God!” answers Lorenzo in English. “What if Muñeca tells my mom what is going on? That would be horrible.” worries Kristel. “Don’t worry. You’re mother won’t say anything as long as Christian is in my power.” answers Lorenzo. OK - it’s getting hot and heavy in the office, Lorenzo starts to disrobe, “I have to have you even though I have to face your father and the whole world!” He gets Kristel on the desk just in time for BOM to walk in and yell “Can you all explain to be what kind of spectacle this is?”

A very nasty sneering Fedra against the bars: “How many times have I told Emiliano that sending you to University would be throwing money in the trash, but I was wrong because now I want you to be my lawyer.” Now Fedra’s got Gretel begging that she not hurt Paula. “I’m contracting you mi vida - aren’t you excited? Your first client - your mommy!” Gretel is still totally distracting processing the implications that Paula is her mother. “Paula es mi mama!” That Tia Carlota wanted to separate Tio Maximo and Paula - so Tio Maximo must be her father from whom she inherited the RyD blood! “Your obligations as my lawyer are very simple” sneers Fedra. “I want to you listen to them and do exactly what I tell you - do you agree? First you forget your alliance with Marianela and get that big meatball to keep her mouth shut. Next, you make the evidence against me disappear, and finally, you get me out of here. Do you have that clear? Of course, if you don’t do what I say, the same thing that happened to Luis Felipe will happen to Paula. Garduño’s men have standing orders to throw Paula from a 5th story window.” (Boy this is so cold! Spitting cobra attacks. Gretel is completely terrorized. I’m really getting depressed here.)

Delicia is chatting at Jorge as he empties drawers in Marianela’s room. “You must be a great friend of Marianela because otherwise you would never help her so much. Are you doing all this for friendship? Or because you feel something more for her?” “Oh, Marianela asked me this as a special favor and I couldn’t deny her.” Delicia wants it spelled out: “But you couldn’t deny her because you were a friend or because..... Huh?” Jorge has just pulled some bundles of letters from the bottom of the drawer. “What are those - letters?” “These look like the letters that Emanuel wrote to Marianela when she was living in Madrid,” Jorge says. “Of course!” says Delicia. “She returned them all. She never read them.” “Well - it doesn’t matter that Emanuel saved them.” says Jorge. “I need space for my stuff. Please - throw those in the trash.” “Sure - I’ll throw them right away. Don’t worry about it.” answers Delicia as she runs off clutching the letters.

Back in Lorenzo’s office as he stumbles around behind his desk with his trousers down at his ankles. “You left Kristel standing at the altar - you have nothing to complain about here” asserts Lorenzo, as Mauricio follows him to grab him by the throat and Kristel yells at him to let Lorenzo go. “You were crying all over me and now you are sleeping with this guy?” Mauricio grits out in disgust. “Oh you thought I was going to cry over you, kill myself over you - well, zero!” taunts back Kristel. “And just so you get it! I made love with Lorenzo the same day you stood me up at the altar, what do you think about that!” “Oh well, how great you finally met your prince, Kristel.” replies Mauricio. as he piles on insults about Lorenzo’s age and supposed lack of prowess. “You know, Lorenzo, it’s too bad that you had to pick up the garbage I threw out” continues Mauricio, “Well I”ll leave you to it, if it he still can.” “Oh he can!” counters Kristel as Mauricio leaves.

Commissioner Tejeda is begging the judge to just give him one more hour to bring in evidence that Fedra Curiel committed other serious crimes. Too late, the judge just signed the release order. Gretel RyD better get here as soon as possible. Marianela can’t imagine what is holding her up!!! She’s not answering her cell phone either! Marianela calls Netty asking her for Gretel. She left the pension a while ago, but before she left she said she wasn’t Fedra’s daughter and she seemed really upset and left running saying that she was wrong about something.

Gretel is wandering through some wooded grounds holding the folders containing the evidence against Fedra. She is remembering a past conversation with Paula who always treated her like a daughter. Paula is telling her that she now has a chance to rebuild her life, and Gretel telling Paula how incredibly alone she felt locked up in the cave. That she had nothing and nobody. Paula told her: “You have me and I’m willing to go anywhere with you.” She remembers Fedra’s cold threat against Paula and has a flash back of Fedra with Luis Felipe and pushing him over the balcony. And sitting at a bonfire as a child. She puts the two folders of evidence in a barrel containing dried leaves, pours over flammable liquid and sets them on fire, crying.

Ilitia saunters into Brandon’s office with a come hither smile on her face. The theme reminds us “You’re so sexy”, but Brandon looks more annoyed than impressed. “Might one know why you are here?” he demands, “It’s not a good day for me, Ilitia.” “Oh, I’ve got a job offer for you!” vamps Kristel. “I need a bodyguard for my swimsuit modeling job in Acapulco. I need protection from all the nacos there, and I want you!”

Back at the agency photo shoot. Kristel in a big pink fuzzy rob yells for Oliver to come out, she doesn’t want to wait all day. A nervous Oliver peeks out: “Are you sure I need to come out like this?” “Oh sure, sweetie,” Kristel bubbles, “this is an underwear commercial.” “OK, I’m coming.” Oliver tip toes out clutching a towel to his body while Kristel looks on delightedly and starts to cheer him on. “Let go of the towel!” LOL! — Oliver is wearing plaid boxers, flip-flops and his police pistol shoulder harness. Kristel croons at him to come closer. She has to drag him out in front of the camera while he tries to cover himself with his hands. “Relax” the camera lady tells him. “You need to remember that Kristel is a woman you adore and you are trying to seduce her.” Oliver doesn’t look so sure about this. “One supposes, hmmm?” Kristel takes off her pink robe revealing sheer black negligee over pink bra and black striped panties. Oliver’s eyes just about bug out. Kristel drags him over to the sofa, pulls off the shoulder harness and pushes him down to sit on the couch while Oliver looks away from her. Kristel is all over Oliver as she starts posing for the camera. Oliver tries to pose but this is freaking him out. Kristel, however, is in her element.

Gretel is at the agency looking for her Dad. Doris grabs her as she rushes by. You came to see Oliver on his first day as a model, right? In the photo shoot Kristel is on her back on the couch holding Oliver down on top of her as he wriggles uncomfortably and tries to keep some space between their bodies. Kristel tells him to calm down, to dominate her, to play bad cop! We get a growl out of Oliver for that - LOL! But he doesn’t like this horizontal business. She tells him to make eye contact and then starts kissing him as he protests - “no, not lips to lips!” “Oliver!” yells Gretel as she comes in and Oliver goes flying over the couch as Kristel covers herself up. “Estupido!” “What me?” asks Oliver as Gretel looks over at him in disgust.

Now it’s Bernardo cooling his heels behind bars. El capitán appears. Bernardo rises and salutes his captain. Like you yourself said you meet your true friends at funerals and prisons. “No,” says the captain, “I HAD a great friend named Bernardo Izquierdo but he is not you. The years have changed you and turned you into a person worthy of all my contempt.” “No, no capitán - you know me.” answers Bernardo. “No, I don’t know you anymore. It’s only the second time I see you in 27 years, and this time behind bars! Because you are accused of stealing money from a good woman.” “Understand please,” Bernardo answers. “I did it for Juana Felipa. I had to take the blame on myself because they had her trapped. I’m doing like always, like you told me, protecting Juana Felipa.” “I want you to tell me if it’s true that you and Juana Felipa are a pair of murderers.” warns el capitán, “and you better not lie to me Bernardo!”

Emiliano has come to see Fedra still in her cell, seated again on on her throne with her skirts spread around her. She’s wondering what the hell he is doing there since he said he wouldn’t lift a finger to help her and goes on as how he has mistreated the mother of his children. “You have some kind of demon protecting you Fedra,” Emiliano says, “because a judge just signed your release. From now you are free.” A prison guard walks up to unlock the cell. And out slinks Fedra swishing her long skirt around and pinching a young guard’s cheek as she saunters proudly down the hall.

Marianela is at the RyD mansion wondering what happened to Gretel. She’s hasn’t appeared anywhere around here Delicia tells her. “Is it true that the devil is returning?” “That’s why I need to find my cousin as soon as possible,” Marianela explains, “so we can make Fedra spend the rest of her days in jail.” Delicia runs off to find Axel who might know where Gretel is, but first stops to show Marianela the box of letters Jorge had found in Emanuels chest of drawers. Marianela recognizes them - that she has sent every single one back. “Well, I read them all” Delicia tells her as Marianela snatches them back in disgust, “I couldn’t resist. And you better read them all too yourself.” Delicia leaves to find Axel. Marianela sits on the bed with the letters and starts to read them. We hear Emanuels tearful voice: “My mind can’t grasp what dark reason you had for abandoning me, but my heart is stubborn and keeps waiting for you. I love you, my lovely gordita. Emanuel RyD.” Marianela opens another one: “You continue not answering me, my lovely gordita. At least tell me if you don’t love me any more, but don’t keep me in this anxiety of knowing nothing about you. I’m going crazy. It’s agonizing not having you close. Not being able to touch you, kiss you. Why did you teach me to love if you were going to leave me? Come back soon, please. My heart misses you. I love you. I love you very much Marianela.”

Marianela finally asks herself the question we have all been wondering for months. “ Oh my god,” Marianela whispers. “Here is all the love Emanuel felt for me. How is it possible that I have not read even one of these letters.” “Forgive me, Emanuel, forgive me.” she whispers. “What is it that I need to forgive,” asks Emanuel as he walks right up to her. And Victoria tries to hide the letters behind her back.

Back in Brandon’s office: “How does it even occur to you to try to get me as your bodyguard?” demands Brandon. Ilitia thinks she is doing a tough guy like him an obvious favor. “Wouldn’t you like to earn a little extra? I know you need could use it.” “Ilitia, do you think I’m here to satisfy the whims of spoiled, rich little girl? Get real - I’m a police inspector and chief of this station. My job is to nab criminals, not to watch the back of a self-important girl much less carry her luggage.” “Well I need guarding, but don’t worry, gorilla, I’ll find someone taller, less naco, more handsome, with bigger muscles, no problem!” “You want a bodyguard?” asks Brandon - “No problem!” He opens the door and calls his biggest lumbering policeman over to take the job.

Back in VM’s room: “Oh Emanuel, I didn’t sense you come in, I was talking about something else not about you” as she gets up to hide the letters under her pillow. Emanuel looking very angry walks up to the pillow. “What are you hiding?” He finds the letters and picks them up. “These are letters I wrote to Marianela! Why do you have these? Can I know who gave you permission to read these?” “No one,” answers VM but then says she get permission from Marianela when she talked to her on the phone. “I can’t believe your are willing to read my things, to hide my things.” “I didn’t hide anything. Delicia found them.” VM goes running after Emanuel as he leaves the room with the letters begging him not to take them away. “These letters were Marianela’s, for Marianela, she didn’t want them, she didn’t take the opportunity to read them, and now they no longer belong to her. And now I don’t feel like letting her have them.” and he starts to tear the letters. VM struggles with Eman as he tries to tear up the letters.

Gretel is screaming at Oliver at how could he be there in the studio in his underwear! And Kristel weighs in against Oliver saying how could he try to take advantage of her like that — her own sister’s boyfriend as she slaps him. Poor bewildered Oliver can only swear at Gretel that things aren’t what they appear. But Gretel’s not having any of it, she’s already had a nightmare of a day and needed a hug and kiss from him and she find him all wrapped up with her sister?!?! “We were just taking photos!” and Oliver begs Kristel to tell Gretel how he was hired as a model while Kristel looks at him like he’s crazy. “But you aren’t any model Oliver, you’re a policeman and I needed help,” cries Gretel, “But you know what - go to hell I don’t want to see you as long as I live.” “Don’t leave!” as Oliver grabs her. “They’re paying me a bunch of money to do this. For you, believe me! Because I want to take you to the Costa Azul” explains Oliver. “And when I found you kissing with Lorena Fonseca - what? Were you also modeling? How much did she pay you?” Oliver grabs Doris and begs her to explain to Gretel about his modeling contract. Doris swears Oliver is telling the truth. “Of course, you brought him,” Gretel says to Kristel. “Why did you get close to my boyfriend Kristel?” “Oh - I was just trying to help because I know you love each other and have a lot of dreams.” answers Kristel innocently. “Don’t be stupid sister! The only thing you want is to hurt me. Well - you accomplished it, And you, Oliver, thanks a lot for cooperating with her to hurt me. I’m never going to forgive this. After today you are dead to me for betrayal and lying.” And she gives Oliver a good slap, pushes Kristel hard and leaves with Oliver running after her wearing the pink fuzzy wrapper. Kristel looks on and batts her eyelashes like the naughty little girl she is. Kristelinator mission accomplished!

El capitán is confronting Bernardo in his cell. “Every last person says you and Juana Felipa are criminals. The she stole everything from a certain Marianela RyD. And that you have become a despicable being without scruples.” Bernardo is doing very his best Igor impression. “They’re lying, they’re lying!” he declares. “I’m losing patience,” swears the captain, “tell me the truth! What have you been doing all these years to oblige Juana Felipa and how far are you able to go for her?”

Somehow VM has the letters back. “No, I’m keeping the letters. Get out of here” cries VM and she somehow manages to herd Emanuel out of her room. “I want my letters!” yells Emanuel. “Why do you want them?” “I told you” answers VM “I need to get them back to Marianela. And tell her I made a big mistake. She thought they were full of lies. That you were making a big joke of her that you didn’t love her. But that’s not true.” “That’s right,” says Emanuel, “it wasn’t like that. I forbid you. I forbid you to return my letters to Marianela” yells Emanuel. “Open the door!” VM anxiously wonders what to do. If she opens the door she knows that she would won’t be able to help but tell Emanuel the truth, that she is Marianela, and that she never stopped loving him for one second. Her hand is on the door knob....

Avances:
- Tell him (Emanuel) the truth Netty begs Marianela.
- She’s on her way yells Netty as she comes into the RyD mansion.
- Tio Maximo is there waiting with a gun for when Fedra dares to reenter the family home.
----------------

A short vocabulary:

Great Mexican expression of incredulity: “¿Te cae?” - For real? Do you really mean it?

nació en una cuna de oro - born in a golden crib

Haga de cuenta que no sucedió - pretend it never happened

Estoy atado de manos - my hands are tied

"Back to setting up the photo shoot. Kristel starts really blowing sunshine up Oliver’s pant leg about his incredibly sexy manliness.

Great way to describe it, Audrey. And oh how he fell!

"(Typical telenovela hubris of the innocent always wanting to walk right into the lion’s den and then so surprised when they get devoured.)"

Love that observation. And too true in this case.

And thanks for the careful translations of Emanuel's quoted letters. Very poignant and important to furthering the softening of Vicky's encrusted heart.

This was a great recap of a real downer of an episode. Both Kristel and Fedra, previously rather amusing, were viciously effective. And I almost threw up when Gretel burned all the evidence. Arrrrrggggh.

However I see that we are now in "ultimas semanas" (which I guess means we have only a couple of months to go) so Justice should be arriving before too long.

Thanks again Audrey for pitching in like a pro! We sure appreciate it.

And loved the vocabulary.

Marta, the recap is up for you. Great recap of a great episode.

Loved the Julio/Justa haunting of Marcella. I think Justa has definetly gained herself heroic sacrfice status.

Sorry, posted the above on the wrong site, meant this for Eva.

Good morning Audrey, Judy and Pata.

Audrey, what a fabulous title! You are a natural born recapper. This was amazing.

I have to echo my friend Judy in that the "sunshine up Oliver's pant leg" was your singular, most sensational line.

Her "heinousness" was in high gear - sneering, striking: "( Hissssssssss — I feel like I’m watching a cobra sight it’s prey. )". Yes. A monster mother devouring her prey.

Not sure Oliver was able to make up for his lack of muscular physique and lack of professional modeling experience, but his facial expressions and discomfort during the shoot made me smile.

Between Kristel's cruelty and Fedra's ferocity, poor Gretel never stood a chance. This woman's abuse must stop. Basta!

Audrey, thank you for translating so many of the conversations - it was extremely helpful. The vocabulary was an added treat...

Diana

Yes, I forgot to say how much I loved "The Kristelinator"...and "slithers out of the slammer". You really have a way with words...and titles.

At first I couldn't fit everything in, but once I changed the date to just numbers, everything made it. Terrific job.

Love your "Kristelinator". She is definitely turning into a one-woman demolition crew.

This was a tough episode to watch in many places. Gees, I was kidding yesterday when I said we would be seeing Eman in a pissed off mode next. Not only him, but almost everyone! And poor Gretel was the center of it all. Talk about having a bad day. And she's a lawyer?? How old is she considering she just spent two years in a cellar - definitely beanie moment for me.

And I echo the thank you for translating the read over of Eman's letters. MV is driving me batty in not telling him who she is - at this point I don't understand what she gains. So just tell him not to tell his mother, something, but you're killing the poor guy. How can you love someone so much and watch them confused and suffering. Some heroine.

I'm thinking Brandon caves and goes with Ilitia - that ought to be fun and maybe Ilitia will get her light bulb moment how much she really cares for him. Or we can hope.

My apologies for not remembering who said this yesterday or the day before, but I'm agreeing that Juan may be a catalyst to destroy Bernardo and Fedra once and for all. Or I hope so. Can't have Eman's dad be a bad guy. But if he does, hope that doesn't mean he has a target on his back. He's starting to grow on me.

I have to credit the " blowing sunshine up someone's pant leg" to a hilarious business conversation I heard decades ago and never forgot. I don't get to use it very often....

Yeah, the comic fun went out of Fedra's villainy with this episode. It was cold. And so cruel! I think we got a glimpse of the range this actress can play.

But we sure lost the lightheartedness I had so been enjoying recently.

Audrey

Audrey, I just finished reading your recap. Wasn't paying close attention last night so really appriciated all the details. Sorry about the wrong post earlier.

@Diana - Her heinousness - hmmmm, I'll have to file that away for future reference!

No way that Gretel is a lawyer. I can only think that Fedra was making some philosophical leap there. Really - does anyone even remember Gretel going to college? Seems like she was kept drugged up until she escaped the cellar.

Audrey

@Pata - no problem about the misplaced post. I knew exactly where it belonged as soon as I read it. LOL!

Audrey

Audrey- Many thanks for this wonderful recap. I also loved the title. Fedra is back and in top fighting form. Look out world!

I forgot that Gretel was in law school before the whole being locked in the cellar thing. This was really not her day. Judy- I also had a bit of a fit when she burned the evidence. I don't understand why she couldn't hide it and wait for the right opportunity to use it sometime later. I think this was the first time they showed her in front of the bonfire in one of the flashbacks. Am I mistaken? Who was burning what? Was it Fedra or Bernardo burning evidence after the murder?

Kristel's plan to seek and destroy is working well so far. She is definitely her mother's daughter.

Audrey- Yep, way back in the beginning, Gretel, Axel, Mari, Lorena and even Oliver, were all students at the same university.

Arrgh, darn it! That was Emanuel walking around the corner looking so good munching grapes. Their names are so similar I sometimes write Emiliano when I mean Emanuel, and then I don't notice when I review!!

Audrey

Excellent, Audrey. How quickly those storm clouds rolled in, though we could see them gathering. Fortunately for us you were there to lighten the mood with your clever light-hearted version of last night's plunge into the gloom.

Poor Gretel. Those two years in the wine cellar did very little to nurture her sense of humor. Now if she'd discovered Kristel vamping on Oliver in a dark club or alone with him in her room then I could understand. But in a photo shoot at her dad's ad agency? Of course she was already having a bad day.

Fortunately, Julia and I decided several days ago that Marivick surely has backup copies of the evidence against Fedra... so, not to worry. What's that? Maybe she doesn't?... Nah...

Did anyone else notice how fast Oliver has healed from his gsw? Not even a scar. Wow!

"If she opens the door she knows that she would won’t be able to help but tell Emanuel the truth, that she is Marianela, and that she never stopped loving him for one second. Her hand is on the door knob...."

So I'll get to be the one to recap this important revelation? Can pigs fly?

Carlos

Últimas semanas. This novela has 206/207 episodes! So we still have 60 to go! That's almost 3 months - a long time for a lot to happen. Somehow I don't think much is going to get resolved any time soon.

Audrey

I did not get to see the episode last night but your recap Audrey let me get up to date. Now I will have to see the episode on the internet.

Kristelinator- Love that description of her. Sounds like she is so like her mother.

reading about the scene with Mari/Vicky, Eman & the letters made me very bummed i missed it. Your recap of it Audrey made me shed a tear, for Emanuel, Marianella, well just tell him who she is and all will be right in the world; but we are talking TN world and not the real world.

Gretel being a lawyer, last minute descision for the writers I believe, had to give her something to do.

Cannot wait for the next episode Fedra will be slinking back to the lair, it should be fun!

LOL Carlos. Yeah, I wouldn't bet on that revelation being made tonight.

OT: Carlos- I watched India a few times this week, now that Alguien te Mira has ended and I refuse to be sucked into a narco-novela, no matter how great it is (Reina del Sur). Glad to see that all the spurned young lovers have moved on to others, although the secret of the true baby-daddies remain. Duda's in a good place no matter what, it seems. But Maya is majorly screwed if her secret comes out. Having been in India and having many Indian friends, I think it's funny the way all the women, particularly the young women, are always dressed in fancy, full saris. High class young women would be in western dress- perhaps a kurta (the loose, long blouse) over a pair of tight jeans or salvar kamis (tunic and bloomers). Saris for most young women in big cities is saved for special occasions. But, this is a novela version of India, so bring on the saris and big jewelry!

Carlos: "Pigs fly" LOL. Maybe that can be the header for your recap?

I was already thinking last night, nah, he's gone when she opens the door. So we'll drag this momentous revelation out AGAIN! Which is why I got ticked off she just didn't spill when he first confronted her.

Maureen, think Fedra will be able to move back in to the mansion? MV lets her do that she's nuts? Oh, never mind, I just answered my own question.

Thanks for the great recap, Audrey. I love your new nickname "Kristelinator." She's really on a tear, isn't she?

Having to adjust my beanie to account for Fedra getting out of jail. What happened to guilty until proven innocent? Why can't Fedra and Bernardo BOTH be guilty? Why would anyone take slimy Bernie's word for anything? I guess we just have to believe that some corrupt authority who has power over Tejeda has been bribed.

Gretel was in her third year of law school before she was locked in the cellar, as we heard her repeat many times as she tried not to lose her mind. So she's not really a lawyer yet, but close enough for Fedra. Well, for Fedra to mock her as she's blackmailing her.

I, too, was marveling at how fast Oliver recovered from being shot...but this was at least the third time he's been shot; maybe healing is like other skills and gets faster with practice, heh. Too funny watching him trying to avoid touching Kristel. Gretel totally overreacted but after the day she's had, I guess it was just the last straw. Although I'm also starting to think she likes fighting with Oliver so they can make up afterward.

I agree; how can Marianela make Emanuel suffer this much if she really loves him? There's no good reason for it. Just tell him, already.

Audrey...not to worry...I think I can go back in and correct those "Emilianos"

Oh - thanks so much JudyB! It makes a bit of difference. Emiliano may have an incredible rumble of a voice, but I don't think I've ever replayed video just to watch him walk down the hall again! LOL!

Audrey

Audrey - I rewound that scene a few times, also :). Seriously not understanding how Marianela's holding out.

And I wish they'd given Emiliano and Emanuel names that are more different, because I keep using the wrong one and having to fix it in my recaps, too.

Just spent my lunch hour watching the episode on the web. Audrey, your translations of the letters was great, read along while watching the episode; Oh the romance novel reader in me had a field day, a definte moment to rewatch. And yes, I had to rewatch(more than once) Emanuel walk and eat grapes at the same time, and climb up the stairs. I think I need a cold drink! And need to keep them coming!! Valentino sure knows how to look good in clothes and...well, back to work :)

Awesome recap Audrey. Wow. Fedra and Kristel both did huge damage didn't they. I hope Mari made copies of those files that Gretel burned. If not, well their whole plan to keep Fedra in jail just went up in smoke literally.

Fedra was absolutely sinister in her threat to kill Paula while Gretel was still taking in the revelation that she's her mother. Great scene.

Another great scene was when Eman discovered MV with the letters he sent to her. Understandably, he would be outraged and incensed that she read the letters that she had given back to him unopened. Will she finally come clean with him now that she realizes the pain she inflicted on him when she up and left without giving him an explanation? Great powerhouse acting from VL and AD in those scenes.

Why, of all people, did Marianela ask Gretel to bring those papers to the police station? Certainly Letty or Doris would have been much more reliable. Of course there have been a number of inexplicable decisions made by seemingly rational people in this show so I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised.

Carlos

Carlos- I think that Gretel was supposed to also make a statement about seeing the murder and what she heard, backed up by the evidence from Luis Felipe. Don't know why Mari thought that emotionally fragile Gretel wouldn't need someone to hold her hand through the process and go with her to the station.

OT Vivi, I hope that you are enjoying India as much as I am. As you might guess, my favorite character is Yvonne. Have you noticed that often, after a scene with her, they jump to a scene with Dr. Castaño discussing psychopaths? Significant?

Thanks for the reality check. I thought the ladies in India all dressed that way all the time. We have an Indian couple here who are both physicians... he's a family doc and she is an OB/GYN. She is drop-dead gorgeous with eyes like Maya's and she usually dresses as you described but on dress-up occasions she does the sari thing but without all the jewelry and of course she is stunning. Actually, she's rather fetching in surgical scrubs as well.

I want to do another India update blog but there is so much going on in the show that I'm not quite sure how to approach it this time. I've heard from several people asking about another India post. I've got a number of discs for picture sources. Just need a little time.

Carlos

OT: Carlos I hope you do get around to that India update. This is one that just screams out for screen shots. Just beautiful. Yes, that Yvonne is bad to the bone. I look forward to her setting her sites on jerk brother in law (can't remember his name).

Posting late but wanted to let Audrey know, your recap was great. Medusa's back and Gretel is stressed out again sigh.

Audrey, thank you for another fantastic recap. You are amazing!! I love your nickname Kristelinator, so perfect, and I must say I am enjoying the Kristelinator as she begins her plans for world domination. I especially like how she pits Mau and Low against each other, what fun!! I don't much like what she is doing to her sister, though. This was a tough episode to watch (mostly) but your recap was 100% enjoyable.
