Llena de Amor #144 (Mex. 150-151) Tue 3/8/11 No one dies today, not even from laughing at Oliver.

I hope…are you all accounted for?
Emanuel and Victoria sit down at the elegantly laid table on the skybridge. Emanuel points out the adjacent hotel and MV thinks he’s getting indecent ideas, but turns out he’s just pointing out that the hotel restaurant is serving the dinner, lest she wonder how on earth they can get dinner service on a pedestrian bridge over a big arterial. What she’s wondering is less how than WHY. Eman promotes this frankly questionable scheme as super original, creative, and romantic. I guess it’s at least as creative and original as the ads they produce. MV’s still wondering why he snookered her into having dinner, hovering over a highway or otherwise. He says he’s desperate to get back in touch with the Vicky he made love to. It seems there are two different people living inside her; the warm, caring passionate one from the hacienda, and the cold meanie who crashed his wedding. Well, he wants to get back to the one who made him feel the way he thought no one other than Marianela would ever make him feel.
MV protests that there can never be anything between them. Eman’s offended that she’s trying to treat him as a meaningless fling when he can tell she loves him as much as he loves her. Vicky refuses to admit it, because she doesn’t want to betray Marianela. Emanuel says they’ll just erase their memories of Marianela and get that obstacle out of the way. He pulls out the stack of letters and starts burning one.
In the office at Dysfunction Junction, Dr. Oliver/Olivia Chelatina advises Gretel to leave this house where people want to hurt her and return to that awesome novio of hers. Gretel snips that she may have been in love with that imbecile, but he betrayed her. Doc Gelatina asks if she’s really sure. Maybe it’s a misunderstanding. Surely he would never do that. Gretel says she saw for herself—he was with her own sister! {Someone explain acting to this girl.} Doctora Jell-O advises her to run back to him—otherwise some unworthy dame (Oli gestures suggestively to her sexy self) will snatch him up first. And Doc Jigglers knows what she’s talking about…in fact she’d like to ask for his number right now, to invite him to a movie. Gretel giggles.
Nereida brings an envelope to Kristel. It’s a note telling her to meet the sender in a suite at the Elite Hotel. What a coincidence! The same hotel which is serving dinner to Eman and MV! Kristel bubbles and chirps her way out the door, telling Nereida to pass on the message that she’s gone on a long, super-glamoroso trip. Byeeee, chiru chiru!
Fedra arrives at Mauricio’s hotel room (possibly also at the Elite Hotel?) in the worst boots ever; they’re thigh-high leopard print vinyl or something. Malicio tells her he did what she asked; he sent Low to the other side. She wants proof. He hands over his phone with a photo of Lowrenzo lying unconscious and bloody on the floor. Fedra gets a little emotional at the thought of never seeing him again. The time is 5:07 p.m., according to that phone. Bit early for dinner, eh?
Doris drags bloody, gasping Low into the dollhouse. ¡¿Qué the heck?! asks Muñeca. Doris tells her that she found him in the office and tried to take him to a hospital, but he insisted on coming here. “No way! Get him out of my house. Out!” Muñeca says. Low begs.
MariVicky tries to stop Emanuel from burning the letters. He continues lighting them and tossing them into an ice bucket. MV jumps up and tries to grab them, burning her fingers and shrieking. Eman kisses her hands (a well-known treatment; all the best burn centers use it) and asks why she cares so much she’s putting her hands in the fire. She says she’s doing it for him and Marianela. He says the only thing she needs to do for him is love him. Vicky makes her usual ascerbic expression.
Nereida interrupts the psychiatry session to tell Gretel that Jairo is here to visit. Oliver’s eyes bug out through Doc Jelly’s makeup. Jairo starts marveling to Gretel that he never imagined his hotshot new reporter was such a lovely young lady. Gretel shushes him. Doc says ahem, excuse me, we’re in the middle of a therapy session here. Gretel says buh-bye; we’re done here; I want to chat with my friend. Doctora Olivia flounces and swishes and plants herself in the chair, “No way, I am not leaving.” Gretel’s annoyed and I’m laughing hysterically.
Back on the noisy skybridge, Vicky asks Emanuel if he really feels nothing for Marianela now. He says he still has a bit of affection, some warm memories, but that’s in the past. He’s finally gotten over her, thanks to Vicky. Vicky protests again that Mari is her friend, so no go. Emanuel points out that this so-called friendship seems pretty toxic and unfair to Vicky. She’s given up her own life to take on Mari’s issues and has turned hard, insensitive, and vengeful. She says he doesn’t know what he’s talking about and gets up to leave. Eman stops her and after he whispers a few “te amo”s, she’s putty in his hands. Smoochy smooch smooch. The waiter studiously observes the traffic.
Low bleeds on the sofa and Flora runs to call for an ambulance. Doris has had enough and decides to leave. She apologizes to Muñeca for bringing him here and asks her to let her know about the funeral—she’d be happy to do his makeup! Ha. Muñeca laughs. Then she turns to Low and demands to know why he didn’t have Doris take him to his amante’s place.
His amante swoops into the hotel suite, calling out to her sweetums, but what she finds instead are Fedra and Mauron en pleno mochi mochi. {Stop correcting that to mocha, Microsoft Word. She most certainly did not find them merely having coffee together.} Cara impactada de Kristel. Cara fake impactada de Fedra. Cara hideous de Mau.
Ilitia and Brandon arrive at their hotel (not the Elite) and Brandon accuses her of inventing the dangers and needing a bodyguard just to have him near. In your dreams, she says. All the famous top models have a bodyguard. He’s just jealous ‘cause she’s so famous. “Do you really think all the men in the world have their eyes on you?” he asks. “Yes,” she replies. Again, she says he’s jealous. “Ilitia, no one is hassling you or paying attention to you.” Ilitia calls out her own name and on cue, a horde of people run up and surround her, begging for autographs. {She must have called ahead to the concierge for that service.} Brandon efficiently hustles her away from the madding crowd.
Fedra’s back in her dominatrix clothes, casually swilling champagne while Kristel stands there and cries silently. “Gee, what a weird room mix-up,” Fedra says. But whatevs. She tells Kristel she just doesn’t know how to enjoy life. “All these years, you were stuck on THAT?!” she gestures at Mau, still lounging in the bed watching them. “You’re crying over THAT?! That pathetic thing? You and I are the same, Kristel, and now we’re more united than ever. Nighty-night.” Fedra does the walk of lack of shame.
Back in the study, Doc Gelatina advises Gretel to stay away from this dude. Surely he will treat her even worse than the other one did! Jairo argues that he will definitely treat Gretel like a lady. Emiliano walks into the office and asks what’s going on and Doc Jelly swoons over his voice. Gretel tells Emil that this therapist he hired is abusive and rude. In another week or two Emil will process that statement and have a response for us.
Fedra pauses at the front door of the hotel, from whence we can see the skybridge, and the doorman asks whether she needs a valet to fetch her car, or perhaps a taxi. Neither, she says. She feels like walking. The doorman mentions the hot gossip of the evening…there’s a couple having a super-romantic dinner up on that skybridge! “Up there over the smog? How ridiculous!” Fedra says, and she walks out.
Up above the smog, the lovedoves are still smooching. MV pauses and says she wishes they could really do this, just run away and be in love and not worry about anyone else. “Let’s do it,” says Emanuel. After all, she makes him quiver and everything. “Stay with me, please, stay with me,” he pleads. “EMANUEL!!!” comes a screech, made all the more intense from the Doppler effect as the source is barreling at them along the bridge. Emanuel and MV are none too happy to see Fedra.
Dr. Gel explains that when he got to the house, the señora Fedra Culebra was there… “What?” asks Emil… oops, Fedra Curiel, and… Emil asks why she claimed to have been ordered up by Emil if it was Fedra. No, the doctora explains, it’s just that she couldn’t exactly tell Fedra that it was Netty Pavón who sent her; she would have been thrown out and never allowed to provide Gretel’s therapy. Gretel and Emil are delighted that Netty thought of this detail. Emil basically just repeats back this line of reasoning and Doc says he’s so intelligent, it makes her nervous. {Heh. Laying it on pretty thick there, Oli.} The therapist reminds Gretel to talk to Oliver as it’s vital to her own tranquility and says goodnight, pinching Jairo’s cheek and flirting with Emiliano before tossing her hair all the way to the door.
Fedra tells Emanuel that she’s trying to change her ways, but he’s making it really hard, with this face-sucking with that thing on a pedestrian bridge in front of the whole world. MV says there’s nothing wrong with that; what’s really unseemly is a woman who shows all her skin on a stage in front of a bunch of drunks. Eman doesn’t seem to pick up on that comment. He just asks his mother why she always has to be so offensive. Fedra and MV get into their same old, same old “YOU’RE trying to ruin the family!” “No, YOU are!” match. MV points out that the only time Fedra’s family has been happy at home was when she was in jail. Fedra begs Emanuel to ditch this woman. Nope, he says.
Brandon exits the bathroom shirtless after his shower. Ilitia’s hanging out in his room. She claims she can’t go to her own room. There are probably paparazzi peeking in the window! They might break down the door! So why doesn’t Brandon do the job she brought him to do? {Which job is she talking about?} “What do you want me to do, go shoot everyone in the lobby?” he asks. Ilitia says probably the whole town has her room number. No way is she sleeping alone, she says, sitting on his bed. “So what are you planning to do, sleep here with me in my bed?” he asks, stretching out and getting comfy and arranging his abdominales de lavadero to maximum advantage. Ilitia peeks at him over her shoulder, biting her lip.
Vicky’s back at home, drinking water in the kitchen and asking herself how she can be jealous of herself. Well, of Marianela, who no longer exists. She is Victoria now. Nereida sneaks in and chloroforms her. She’s still holding the cloth to her face when she hears Emanuel calling through the house for Victoria.
At the hospital, Muñeca begs the doctor to save Lowrenzo’s life. The doc says he’ll do everything he can; he understands how worried she must be and afraid of losing him. “What, this jerk? No, you misunderstand. I don’t care about him, but he can’t die before he tells me where my son Cristián is.”
Oliver babbles to himself in his bedroom as he wipes off the makeup and pulls off the wig. Blah blah I miss Manolo; I have to get her back, etc. Jose Maria watches from the doorway, confused. “I was just getting used to the idea of his being in love with that young man, and now it turns out he’s a transvestite, too?”
Ilitia paces back and forth. “Stop that! It’s late; go to bed!” Brandon says. Ilitia claims she can’t because of all the mobs of fans and such. She tells Brandon he’s a disaster as a cop and as a bodyguard. He tells her to quit the hysterical brattiness because he’s tired of it. He says she can sleep here and he’ll keep watch outside. “What?! You’re leaving?” He exits and Ilitia flops down on the bed, still dressed, and whines that she’s here all alone while Emanuel is cheating on her.
Emanuel barges into the kitchen but Nereida and MV are gone. He picks up the glass off the floor and wonders what that’s about. Benigno walks in, also looking for Victoria. Nereida huddles with unconscious MV in the hall.
Emiliano goes to the pensión to have a very serious conversation about Fedra Curiel with Chema.
Nereida has dragged MV into Bernardo’s room, and Fedra is ready with medical supplies. Nereida nervously asks what she plans to do. She isn’t really going to kill her, is she? Nereida wants to leave, but Fedra says if she does, she’ll cut out her tongue so she can’t say anything. Ner decides to stay. Fedra puts on gloves and ties a band around MV’s arm.
Emil asks JM what Fedra’s earlier life was like. JM says she lived on a fancy yacht with a rich dude who enjoyed all the vices money can buy. Netty is surprised to hear that Fedra really did have money. She’d always thought that Fedra came from the gutter. She asks Chema if he also came from illustrious ancestry. He says the only things he had were dignity and honor. Netty swoons. Emil says he must know more. Where did Fedra come from? Who was she really? Chema says he shouldn’t be asking a complete stranger about the identity of the woman he’s been married to for more than a quarter-century. Why doesn’t he ask her?
Ilitia has ordered dinner. She invites Brandon in to eat with her. He says he doesn’t eat when he’s on duty. She says she’s the boss and she’s ordering him to eat with her. He retorts that his job is to be her bodyguard, not to keep her pathetic lonely self company. She seems surprised at how difficult he’s making this.
Emiliano warns Netty that that guy could be dangerous. Netty says she can take care of herself. Emanuel walks in, looking for Victoria. He’s checked everywhere and can’t find her, and she isn’t answering her phone. Netty immediately starts to worry that Fedra has something to do with this. Emil scoffs. Netty insists. Fedra would do anything to get that girl out of the house. What if she’s killed her? Emiliano says Fedra may be greedy, but she’s not a serial killer. Netty is not at all sure about that. She’s convinced Fedra was involved in the deaths of Eva and Luis Felipe. Emiliano sighs but Eman raises his eyebrows like, “yeah, that’s probably true.”
Fedra takes MV’s fingerprints. Nereida wonders why she’s doing that. Fedra says she can’t stop thinking that Victoria is La Gorda. No way, says Nereida. Not possible that this beauty could be that fatty. “Look, idiot, everything is possible in this life,” Fedra says, removing the rings she had put back on over the latex gloves in order to remove the gloves. She collects the fingerprints and blood sample to go get proof.
Netty and Emanuel have coffee. Emanuel doesn’t like her making accusations like that about Fedra to Emiliano. Netty says she’s sorry to have to say these things about Eman’s mother, but she’s pretty sure they’re true. She definitely knows that Fedra tried to kill Mari with poison. Netty pleads with Emanuel not to make the same mistake with Victoria that he made with Marianela. Now that he knows how dangerous Fedra is, he’s got to believe she’ll do anything to get Vicky away from him. He has to protect Victoria. He agrees, but asks her not to talk about stuff like that in front of Emiliano, whose sensitive little world will crumble when he discovers all Fedra’s lies. The poor guy doesn’t even know what Emanuel has suspected for years. “I know what you’re talking about,” Netty says. “Really?” She says she had a cow when he and Marianela were novios, because they were first cousins, but then Mari told her what Máximo said. Well, yes. But if Emiliano is given proof, it will break his soul. Netty asks if he’s sure it’s true that he isn’t Emiliano’s biological son. He says he hasn’t gotten proof, but he’s quite certain. In fact, he thinks he even knows the name of his father. “Who?” Netty asks. But they are interrupted by Chema. “The son of Fedra Curiel! We meet again!” Chema says.
Emanuel asks what this associate of Fedra’s lawyer is doing in Netty’s house. Chema says he knows Fedra because he worked for her father for many years, and when he arrived in the city he looked for her to see if she could hook him up with a job. She was probably just embarrassed to introduce a poor humble guy to her son. Uh, whatever, Eman says. He praises Chema’s honesty (!) and gives him his card and says maybe he can find him a job. Eman says they have lots to talk about regarding Fedra’s life, but he seems to feel no urgency in the matter, because he says goodnight and leaves.
Fedra and Nereida scuttle through the house with MV. Those boots might not be leopard print. They’re definitely ugly, though. Fedra hustles back to the hall all out of breath and Jorge wanders in and wonders if Emanuel and Victoria are home yet. Fedra tells him they’re having some stupid romantic dinner on a pedestrian bridge, and it’s right next to a hotel so they’ll probably just spend the night there. “And how did you happen to see them there?” Jorge asks. “Oh, I was just following them, you know…” “LIAR! You were at that hotel to get revenge on me! DADDY!” Kristel shrieks. Fedra tries to shut her up, but Kristel will not be cowed. “I’m going to tell Daddy what you did to me, and I’m also going to tell him that you’ve been having an affair for years with Lorenzo Porta López!” she yells. Around the corner, Nereida (hovering over limp MV) perks up at that hot bit of gossip. Jorge calmly excuses himself to go to the hotel and look for Em and MV. Kristel yells that Fedra, who’s pretending all this crap about recovering the love of her children, is the worst filth in the world! The very worst! Fedra says Kristel did the same to her, knocking boots with Low after Fedra specifically forbade that. “I am never going to forgive you, nunca, never, ever!” says Kristel. Kristel tries to rampage on to Daddy, but Fedra grabs her from behind and clamps a hand over her mouth.
Nereida drags MV across the marble floor.
In the study, Fedra tells Kristel that Lowrenzo is dead. Mauricio killed him, and he was going to kill Kristel next, but Fedra hopped in the sack with him in exchange for having Kristel’s life spared. Kristel cries.
Ilitia opens the door and hollers for Brandon, but he doesn’t answer. She slams the door and tosses over the dinner cart and the table, yelling “I hate you! I hate you!” She slumps down on the floor in tears, and Brandon rushes in, wondering what’s going on. “I had to make a big scene to get your attention,” she says. “You’re drunk,” he observes. “A tiny bit,” she admits. She gets up and hangs on him and snuggles up and he tries to resist.
Kristel calls Lowrenzo and is super relieved when he answers and isn’t dead. He confirms that Malicio stabbed him, but he says he would never leave this world without her. Foreshadowing?
MV wakes up on her bed and wonders how she got there. She notices the ink on her fingers and immediately figures out that with the prints, Fedra is going to figure out that she’s Marianela. Emanuel finds her there and wonders where she’s been. She says she’s just been there, resting. He says that’s not true; he looked for her and she was nowhere to be found, and he called her phone millions of times and she didn’t answer, and he’s been going crazy. What’s up? She unconvincingly claims everything is fine. He doesn’t believe her and wants to stay there in her room for the night to protect her. She pushes him out while he protests that he misses her and needs her.
Kristel visits Lowrenzo in the hospital. He says he needs a big favor. He left Cristián with a certain someone. “I need you to go for our son.”
Muñeca has invited Garduño to her house for a chat, much to his surprise. She says she appreciates that he’s always treated her as an intelligent and respectable lady, in spite of the other stuff he’s done. She reminds him of what he said the last time they saw each other, that to be with her he’d be willing to get rid of Lowrenzo. “That’s why you wanted to see me? You want me to get rid of him? If the reward is being with you, I’ll gladly do it.” Muñeca nervously agrees. She wants that jerk to pay for what he’s done to her.
Avances: Brandon and Ilitia starkers in the sheets. Emanuel and MV smooch and he says he wants to marry her. Jorge teams up with Fedra to separate Em & MV.
Más rápido cae un hablador que un cojo – A bigmouth falls faster than a lame man
Guarura -- bodyguard
Pelos de lote – lots of hair
Aferrada – anchored, attached
Zancudo revoloteando – fluttering crane (Brandon comparing Ilitia to a nervous skinny bird)
Alcurnia – ancestry

Wonderful Julia. Not one of my favorite episodes, but your recap actually made it more interesting to review again. Just seemed to be a lot of bluster last night.

The high point had to be Oliver. I'm sorry, but he's not so bad as a woman. That voice! I could not stop laughing and smiling. His flirting with Emi - priceless.

Then back to the rest of the hour. So-so. Fedra doing her best despicable:lying and conniving. guess she's not taking the soothsayer's warning to heart about changing her ways. I hear the bells of doom ringing for her already.

Doris - guy is stabbed in the back, should be bleeding profusely, and you agree to take him home? Unless he's holding a gun to your head, think you were in control of the car. Love these plots sometimes. I do enjoy Kristel right now (the actress) - she's doing a great job of playing thru all the emotions the character has to be going thru right now. MV could take some lessons -

Again, they have Emi looking like a smuck, totally lost on what is going on around him. Everyone is so concerned about how the truth will hurt him...at this point people, it might kill him! Someone sit this man down and fill him in on the plot. I love my Cesar, he's so awesome when fiery or angry - so let him rip.

Oh and dinner on the bridge - not a great idea. Table vibrating, noisy and if this is Mexico City - Yeah, Fedra's right-smog. One of the lamer attempts I've ever seen at trying to be romantic. Sorry Eman.

Love the previews - since MV will still be whining even if she's smooching, hope we get more Brandon and Ilitia. And will we now see the "villian" Jorge come out - in cahoots with fedra. say it ain't so!

This WAS an icky episode. Way too much Vicky and Eman. Especially Vicky. And again a curious merging of two different episodes and they cut out a previous scene of Fedra and Mau in post-coital...well, not bliss, but satisfaction as far as Mau was concerned. He thought she was really hot stuff. (Too shocking for US audiences?) She was already climbing out of bed, bored blue, when they heard the knock on the door and she jumped back in to break Kristel's skinny bitch heart.

Well, anyway..all this palaver to say that you rescued a dreary crazily edited episode with your sharp wit and clever re-telling.

Loved your cara impactada, cara fake impactada, cara hideous riff, "walk of lack of shame" and "in another week or two Emil will process that statement and have a response for us." Very funny. Yes, he is about as exciting as blancmange in this one.

Saving grace were Oliver's marvelous scenes, Gretel cracking up at his posturings and the teasing about Cesar's famous voice.

Oliver looks quite good in drag. Hope that character lasts for a little while.

Thumbs down on the restaurant/pedestrian bridge scene. And everything that happened in it. But kudos to the recap. Beautifully done. And great vocab too.

Maggie, thank you for your marvelous recap of Monday's episode. Appreciated your wry humor and great detail.

Julia, I didn't think anyone could supplant Manolo but I was wrong: "Doctora Olivia flounces and swishes and plants herself in the chair". Most excellent! Wonderful (as always) and your vocabulary is greatly appreciated. My favorite lines were: "Dysfunction Junction", "Eman kisses her hands (a well-known treatment; all the best burn centers use it)" and "In another week or two Emil will process that statement and have a response for us". Sigh.

I sensed Chema felt a definite connection with Eman - he seems fairly savvy and suspect he will put two and two together before long.

I love how Brandon is playing hard to get with Ilitia, but expect he will fold shortly...

Any sympathy I may have felt for Kristel after Fedra's "tryst" with Mau was only for the actress who if not for Oliver, would be stealing the show here...

Thanks again Julia.

Diana

Julia thanks for your fun recap. Though I didn't see the episode, there were definitely a few scenes I'm going to scroll through.

Maggie thanks for your recap from yesterday.

Wonderful recap Julia. I agree that this episode was not my favorite. You know it's bad when you start rooting for the baddies. I can't wait for Fedra to finally get the proof that Vicky and Mari are the same person. MV stupidly didn't think that Fedra would outsmart her by getting her fingerprints and blood. Her lies are about to blow up in her face.

I need to get something off my chest. I don't mean to be so negative but right now I'm not finding MV very appealing. It could be with the actress’s interpretation of the role or even perhaps the writing. However, what I don't like is how self righteous Mari acts as though she's not part of the reason why Eman is so confused (I still don't like his nonchalant stance on cheating either but that's beside the point). I really don't like MV right now honestly. That makes me really makes not want to root for Eman or Mari as a couple. Okay enough on that back to the recap.
I felt bad for Ilitia knowing that while she's gone Eman is cheating on her. I'm glad Brandon is there for her before she does a Charlie Sheen.

Oliver was definitely the best past of this episode. I couldn't get over his voice. So hysterical.

From the previews, Jorge teams up with Fedra. I guess Mari has lost her ally due to her silly games.

I was typing so fast, I made a bunch of typos in my previous post. Something I wanted to add. I wonder if Uni's chopping out scenes is going to become a constant. Why are they doing this?

@Pirate Babe...I'm afraid Univision has a new show in the chute and wants to wrap this one up quickly. That's the only reason I can figure for their suddenly compressing two episodes into one.

And I agree. Vicky is totally unappealing. Every scene with our main couple makes me want to hit the fast forward button.

Julia- I'm so glad you got the episode (or is it episodes?) with Olivette. What fun those scenes were! And you were the perfect recapper to cover them. :) I also loved Olivette flirting with Emil and swooning at his voice.

I could feel the choppiness of this episode, and the previous one. I also don't get why they are compressing and combining these episodes. Stop it Uni! It's hurting the flow and enjoyability of the show. This is the first time I have seen this. Usually, they're all about stretching these things out and adding tons of filler.

Julia – what a wonderful recap with so many great lines! You never have an off night.

I just loved Oliver in drag – the actor did an amazing job using fresa-speak and all the head movements that Kristel and Ilitia do. Did he learn from them? He was the highlight of the evening.

Otherwise, the episode felt so disjointed, so chopped and hacked that I was constantly wondering what we were missing.

Looks like La Familia con Suerte (I think that’s the title) is going to be the 8:00 show, though I’m not 100% sure. It looks like it has some comedy to it, so I wish we were getting it at 7:00.

I don't like MV, either. Never have. In the beginning she was a dippy sad sack, now she's a venomous witch. She didn't get smarter, she just got meaner. There's just not anything particularly endearing about her to offset her character flaws. I think Emanuel should go for Doris instead. Way better choice.

Not the best episode ever but I HATE that Univision is chopping stuff out. So annoying. I think they've done the same thing to Camaleones, because a few weeks ago it seemed like we were just easing into the final stretch, and now all of a sudden it's ending this Sunday. Why can't they just let the shows run their natural course? Since these shows have already run in Mexico it's not like they have no idea which ones are going to be good. They're just going to lose viewers by constantly screwing with the schedules and cutting things out. Okay, end rant.

Why can't Chema introduce himself to Emanuel by his whole name? I know, too easy. But Netty saw his engraved knife and knows that El Lirio de Plata relates to both Emanuel and the RydT family history. How long until she mentions it to Eman or Mari?

Might the third time be the charm for Ilitia and Brandon? We'll have to see whether she pushes him away again immediately after the snoozling, like she always has before. It's about time she changed her tune.

The dinner scene in the bridge over the freeway was really something. Near where I live they’ve run the light rail down the freeway median, and I’m telling you, it’s like thunder when you have to stand out there and wait for a train. The sound level is just astonishing, and we have to shout at each other to talk. I was impressed that the sound people were able to catch MV’s and Eman’s conversation so well.

Julia, thank you for the terrific recap.

I love Oliver, he is really a great actor. It was too funny when Chema overheard him talking to himself and then removing the wig, etc.

I also loved when Doris told Muneca that if Low died to call her she would be happy to do the makeup.

Rosemary

Thanks Julia. Great job. Some very funny stuff. I have to agree that Oliverette stole the show. Her flirting with Emiliano was wonderful and Muñeca's concern for Lorenzo was touching, though I'm not sure that throwing in with Garduño is such a good idea.

I can't imagine eating on a skybridge over a busy street... in Mexico City. I'm afraid I'm going to have to side with Fedra on this.

Carlos

I agree about the dinner setup. Super-romantic? Uh, no. Could have been worse, I guess. Was the sewage treatment plant all booked up? Third-class bus station lost their food service license? If Eman really wanted to do romantic, he should have taken her to that restaurant with the beautiful gardens and ponds and such where Eduardo took the cuartel in LFMB. That place was nice. Or maybe on a boat. The skybridge just looked uncomfortable and irritating.

Muñeca is making me nervous. Is she really so desperate to get rid of Low that she's willing to be beholden to Garduño? Or does she think she can somehow pull one over on Garduño and escape? I find it hard to believe that she's willing to have ordering Low's death on her conscience.

Julia:

"Was the sewage treatment plant all booked up? Third-class bus station lost their food service license?"

I wasn't ready for that and choked on my tea.

Yes, I imagine Garduña might be expecting more than a brisk game of Maratón.

Carlos

Our Julia IS funny, isn't she Carlos. I do like the sewage treatment idea...in...out...all in one place. Convenient.

Gross Judy!!! LOL!

Julia, thanks for the recap.
