CdL === No need to apologize. Seriously. I fell asleep while trying to watch it in real-time! Gah!!! It was the most boring episode ever, full of filler.

The only interesting scene was FerBeast & Cruz when they fell into the pool. And even then, I was QT*? over the big flower design on the back of her mini skirt. It took TdA for Pablo to become an interesting character in a telenovela? Gaaah!

The most interesting thing in last night's episode was the meeting between Eva and Victoria. Eva intends to give Victoria all the dirt she can dig up on Bernarda. I think her plan is to keep her motives and actions as hidden as she can and gloat at Bernarda's fall.

Nobody knows yet that Bernarda murdered her husband. I don't think there is any evidence of it left, so this will have to come out in an Abuse of the Confessional with the older priest.

Fer seems to resist the idea of marriage to RTSB, the only shred of sense she has displayed so far.

Pablo Montero definitely has the makings of a romantic comedy star. This is his third turn as Petruchio but damn it, I hope he starts shaving again.

Anon: Thanks for the reminder. No two women could kiss that much alike that Max (or any other man) couldn't tell the difference.
 

Cielo, no worries. This was definitely an episode worth sleeping through.

Doris, you've captured the essentials! And Cruz seemed to agree with you about the FerBeast's get-up!

I can think of only a couple of new developments:

Eva meets with Victoria briefly and warns her that Padilla and Bernie are in cahoots and plotting against her. She also tells her that Bernie is a loan shark and Padilla is one of her clients.

In the last scene, Ximena sneaks up on Max when he is at the park playing baseball with the orphans and JP. She covers his eyes and then they kiss for a ridiculously long time while the guys watch and cheer. (And as anon has just said, how did he not know who he was kissing?)

In the previews, María arrives at the park just in time to catch this little scene. Caution: bofetadas ahead!

I guess Jimena kissed Max, how did that come about? Are they in Miami?

Cielo- This was a snoozer for sure. I was yelling at the tv when they gave us like 10 minutes of flashbacks of M&M happy times. They're still together! Save the happy flashbacks for when they break up (we know it's coming). Too many chipmunk scenes. I'm always creeped out by the "orphan" who looks like he's 40 and is balding. I just don't understand why we need so much time with them and get so little M&M time (in real time). Nati is making a fool of herself wearing a scarlet letter for something she didn't do, and if she did, so what! She's free and single. The only thing that happened to move things forward one half step was Eva making contact with Vicky. I want them to get to Miami already. I have hopes for some plot movement then. (fingers crossed)
 

Variopinta, Ximena was with Victoria when she called the office looking for Max and was told that he was coaching the parish baseball team. Ximena hightailed it over there.

Miami should happen by the end of the week.
 

Cielo don't worry about boring episode for sure.

I just don't get how after not thinking her husband gives her the emotional support she needs.

Her daughter has a contentious relationship with her and she probably neglected her growing up building her business so that why she over spoiled her.

Is it too much for Victoria that she has to go and ruin the only person in that house who has a semblance of a normal life but not only that loves her unconditionally and gives her emotional support despite the way she acts bi-polar.

She just has to make Max as miserable as the rest of them but what got me is he's there for her and she comes downstairs with her potential skank in law and orders to make it happen that she get married to Max.

Victoria slap of Toni wow all i can say is Toni should have backhanded her back and then threw her out of her place and told her she quit.

I don't know about anyone else but i can't wait for Victoria's downfall she is just too full of herself.

And Doris, you summed it up well. Showing flashbacks of this tn's "greatest moments", when, in my opinion, there haven't been any yet!

I know we can be critical of every tn we see, but this one is the pits. For those I have watched and enjoyed so far, there is always a "hook" for me ( a handsome galan, great humor, or great acting, por ejemplo). I can find no hook in this tn. Even William L is not doing it for me (sorry Cielo). I am only watching now for the fantastic recaps and the always-interesting comments.

And to be fair to Max, he had just called María and asked her to hurry over to the park. He was expecting his prometida, not his stalker -- in that sense, his being slow on the uptake is understandable.

One other new -- and silly -- plot thread: Pipino is dispatched to the barrio to find "real women" to model the new ready-to-wear collection. And guess who his new find is? Milagros!
 

I remember that scene with Eva & Vic and wondering why was Eva carrying that black plastic trash bag. I was seriously dozing off thru all that.

More dozing off, so I wondered why Pipi was in his pimp outfit going to the Barrio.... cue the Dove soap 'real women' ads...

Nathi: so, they had to re-run LindaSkankHO putting down Nathi...that was sickening to watch, but even MORE sickening was that FOOL JuanJo (Get him out of here NOW!) talk down to her with that flattened affect of his. Then, Milagros has to follow right behind him and turn the knife some more.

Nathi needs to get a grip. Get thee to a hairdresser...deal with the black roots or go back to your natural hair colour, but DO SOMETHING PRODUCTIVE!

Eva: I appreciate what she is doing for Victoria, but the entire time she was on the phone, I expected St. Bernard to come up right behind her and give her three whacks with an ax! I also expected St. Bernard to show up in that park. Wowsers. Eva is taking some huge chances here. Huge.

Victoria: what can I say that has not already been said? Oz gives her a huge opening by asking her to explain her disdain and utter dislike of Padilla. What does she do? NOTHING?! This has to be the least likable protagonista that I have ever seen. Did this character evoke these feelings in the original (EPDA)?

Ximena: I'm sorry...they are trying to portray this Plain Jane (with a capital 'J') as a model and sexy woman. Get over it casting director! You failed big time! Even when this Ximena/Dominika person smiles, she STILL looks like she is in the MEPS Stupor! ...and that outfit with the ugly hat...NOTHING...absolutely nothing sexy about that get up. I question this actriz and her so called acting talent. I say...leave her to the stupor scenes and let it go at that.

Max: So help me...if he turns around and gives Maria Desinformada grief for slapping the Ximena woman, I think I'll have a fit!

Juan Pablo: Your hair is clean now, but it is ugly...do you read me...U.G.L.Y. Cut it and get a shave. You are too good looking to continue to look like you just got out of bed every day.

...but the one that really and truly makes me want to spit nails is that idiot and FOOL JuanJo. Get him off this TN, PLEASE!

Pablo/Cruz: right now..YOU are the only saving grace of this TN.

Haha Susanita so tell us how do you really feel?

The way you feel about Jimena/Domenika playing that part i feel the same maybe Mejia got the wrong sister but certainly she should stick to being type cast as a patient in a drug stupor. I find it hard any man considers her sexy.

Feeling the same about Victoria last night she had a perfect chance to come clean about her past with Padilla to Os boy does this woman disappoint.

As for EPDA Helena Rojo just played this role so much better yes you didn't like when she gave the Maria D. role a hard time. I just feel Victoria Ruffo is out of her element at playing this role.She's another one i would loved to see replaced in her role.

The actor or should i say soccer player playing JJ ita go get Shakira's new boyfriend he might not be able to act but at least he's great eye candy. If we have to suffer through a non actor playing this role let him at least be good looking.

I hated also seeing the replay of Nati being put down but in a sense i have to agree with LindaHo' who asked her to volunteer to do that. Someone not only needs to give Nati a serious makeover and yes take care of those dark roots. Someone also needs to enlighten her to JJ is just not into you and move on. Hook up with Fabian.

JP i guess he's trying to be cool and more accessible to the young flock but somehow he comes across as looking slightly unkempt isn't there a saying that cleanliness is next to Godliness?

Variopinta i didn't know Inocente de Ti was a Mejia project i kind of liked that one i loved Helena Rojo in that she was crazy and evil.Of course great eye candy in Valentino Lanus.
 

Susanita, your comments have finally prompted me to comment. I could not agree with you more about the casting of Ximena. It'a really painful to watch her. Her "thing" with Guillermo would call for a lusty, sexy woman and she is the antithesis of that. Her clothes look like disgarded drapes. All she needs is a curtain rod and she could be channeling Carol Burnett in the GWTW skit. I really have to turn away when she's on screen.

Blusam: Thank you for understanding I just had to have my 'fit' about some of these characters/actriz! LOL! I just could not help myself as I felt so frustrated with the way it was going last night. I think I am going to need to find a vid of EPDA so that I can see how Helena Rojo handled the role of Victoria.

Perhaps, I need to cut Ruffo some slack as perhaps the role has not been clearly communicated to her. There is simply no consistency to this character. I so agree with you Blusam that it was hard to watch how Max clearly supported his mother, but she, in turn, repays him with giving Ximena the orders to 'make sure' she marries him. Oy!

How in the world is this supporting one's child (even if he is a step child)?!

There was one hilarious moment for me when I saw the latest Fony Fer get up...that huge flower on her rear end...that flower deserved to fall in the pool!

This TN has so much potential. Right now...it just seems a tad fractured. I want to see it get on track!

Um, just read on wikipedia that the Ximena actress is 39. Yikes! A little old to be mixed up in a love triangle with William Levy (31) and Maite Perroni (28) don't ya think? I really don't know why they cast her in this role...

Sondie-I guess for me the "hook" to this one is so easily snarked upon. Maybe not the best reason to watch a TN, but it's fun.

Susanita-ITSA about (Is it J or X?)-mena. When she is in scenes with Gui, she just looks drugged...not passionate. Her looks are just very bland to me and I'd been wondering how old she was 'cause her skin just looked tired to me. Just like mine..and now that I know her age it all makes sense.
 

Thanks for all the meaty comments sauced with snark. I kept checking on other shows. Even WL/Max's hotness couldn't tempt me to watch the parish baseball game. So much of the casting seems way off-base here.
