Teresa Thu 4/14/11 #13-14 Teresa plays the Hot Professor even more.

Teresa Apr 14, 2011 Cap 13 & 14. (aka Pablito loses a kidney and Teresa loses her virginity—thank you to Vivi for this alt title! LOL.)

Hello folks, this is a sort of barebones recap, as I typed it out as I was watching Teresa live. The first few scenes are missed (will try to add them later tonight or tomorrow) and I know I missed stuff. This was the best way I could think of dealing with recapping two hours! LOL.
I am going to add screencaps later. Right now I'm encoding my recording of the episode, and it's a two hour episode so it's going to take a while!
Lo siento for any errors or omissions or misunderstandings. PLEASE elaborate or correct any mistakes I make, because I'm sure I made some!

CLICK ON SCREENCAPS—They all go to a larger (HD quality) version of the photo.

The nice doctor comes to visit the barrio and tells Teresa and Mariano that they can treat Pablito.

They then go inside to tell the family about how Pablito is going to start the protocols for treatment. He's going to operate and the parents have to sign off on giving him the treatments.

Juana is being visited by her suitor, the mariachi player singer guy. There is some sort of chit-chat. FF>>>

Teresa praises Mariano for his help in getting treatment for Pablito.

Aurora and her dad are preparing to go on a trip to Paris.

Esperanza calls Hot Professor (Arturo) and says she needs to see him about money for Pablito. She wants to return the money Ruben gave her, because Pablito's medical expenses are being funded elsewhere. (Thanks to Vivi for correcting this pretty big detail!)

Esperanza calls Professor Hottie about returning Ruben's money.

Pablito's parents give him a bath in preparation for the big day in surgery.

Luisa gives Teresa the clothes and jewelry she had lended her before as a gift. Teresa tries to refuse, but Luisa insists, saying that for all the good she's done for big brother, she wants her to have the stuff.

Aurora talks with Teresa about her upcoming vacation.

Esperaza meets with Arturo to talk about returning money for her little brother.

Esperanza meets Hot Professor to talk about returning the money—they found another way to pay for Pablito's medical care.

Teresa visits Arturo's ex and says that she broke her promise and tried to see him. Ex says tearfully that she won't try again. Teresa says fine, she doesn't want ex around Arturo or their (nonexistent) hijo.

Esperanza is talking about her rich boyfriend with Teresa.

Mariano visits Teresa. They start talking about a date. She has him close his eyes and takes him to a secret place. It's a lovely garden. He wants to know where it is. It's Aurora's place. She's looking after it while Aurora is in Paris. They start to kiss but the gardener interrupts them.

Aida and Paulo at the beach. Aida is putting sunscreen on Paulo. Mum interrupts, wants to know what they're planning for the day. They're not sure. She takes off again and the couple start smooching.

Teresa is going to stay in Aurora's house. She's going to enjoy living like the other half lives. Mariano seems to be mainly interested in having some alone time, getting closer to her.

Teresa explains that she's got the keys to Aurora's house because she's sitting when Aurora is on vacation.

A scene with Pablito's parents talking with Teresa's mom, in relation to Pablito's surgery, I guess.

Back to Teresa and Mariano, now in bathing suits.

After the break, Teresa's dad is having a talk with a woman (looks like a store owner) about keeping up with his payments of some kind. He should not get behind. He looks concerned.

Dad's gotta pay.

Pablito is in the hospital and is playing with Esperanza's cell phone. There is some talk about Teresa's boyfriend and how he's helped out. Pablito hopes that Esperanza gets a boyfriend as helpful and Mariano.

Speaking of said boyfriend who is DEFINITELY not as helpful as Mariano, he's calling her cell and leaving a message. He then calls Arturo to ask what's going on, why does she want to return the money for Pablito's surgery? He is angry about this.

Ruben's vexed because he can't control Esperanza as much as he'd hoped.

Esperanza is still at the hospital with Pablito and makes some comment to the nurse there, asking if it's hard to get a job there.

Teresa and Mariano at the swimming pool. He's warning her that becoming a doctor is gonna take time. Is she willing to wait it out? She looks thoughtful.

Arturo and Luisa talking. I think about a prospective boyfriend for her? She has a guy in mind but is taking her time.

Teresa's parents talking about Rosa and Johnny and their love, and then Mariano and Teresa, about how they're going to get along? (Not sure how this went.)

Teresa and Mariano at the swimming pool still. Teresa gives a satisfactory answer to Mariano and they kiss as their love theme swells in the background.

Esperanza keeping Pablito company in his hospital room. His parents come visit and he's delighted to see them.

Armando (Teresa's dad) is trying to tell Johnny that he's young, he needs to get out there and see other girls. But Johnny still pines for Rosa and isn't interested. All he can think of is Rosa.

Some conversation between Esperanza and the nice doctor guy.

Ruben is in bad spirits and his wife wants to know why. He gets a call from Aida who is thrilled with the great time she's having. She then talks with her mom. Both parents thought she was going to go to Italy, but instead she's staying with Paulo in Acapulco. Don't make it so easy for him, mom says. They don't like the sound of it at all. Ruben says he's going to try to find a way to get back to Mexico.

A young woman named Maria is chatting up Johnny but he walks off, saying he's tired and busy.

Johnny hasn't moved on yet after Rosa's death.

Aida talking with Paulo's mom. Mom starts talking about some guy she lost because he went with another woman. Then she talks about her failed marriage, blah blah blah. She ends up advising Aida to fight for Paulo, don't let Teresa take him!

Arturo and Luisa chatting. Something about what he wants from life. I think Luisa is thinking of him and Teresa.

A rare smile from Professor Hottie.

Cut to Teresa and Mariano kissing in water. (Swimming pool.) Filler scenes of them embracing in various locations near the swimming pool. They get horizontal on a beach towel. Mariano starts to remove her bikini top and she finishes removing it. He says he loves her and she says she wants to be his. Commence lovemaking in serious. And we cut to break.

Teresa is losing her virginity on a towel on the lawn of Aurora's house. I wonder what Aurora would say about that.

In Paris France, Ruben is talking to Paulo's mom, chewing her out for letting Aida stay with them in Acapulco. Paulo's mom then tells Aida and Paulo that they have to cut the fun short, the parents insist.

Mariano and Teresa basking in the afterglow. Mariano saying he wants them to be together forever. Many kisses and claims of everlasting love.

Juana's suitor wants her to move on with love, but she doesn't seem to want to forget her late husband. She kicks him out of her apartment, saying that it's too late in the day for a decent woman to be entertaining men in their rooms.

Juana is not giving her suitor proper encouragement.

Mariano and Teresa return to her home, all over each other. Teresa's dad greets them and looks seriously not happy. Teresa spins some excuse for being away for so long, but the dad cuts the crap and warns her about being foolish. She hugs him and he looks worried.

At Mariano's home, his dad warns him about treating Teresa with respect. He's known Teresa's parents forever. Mariano says he loves Teresa.

Teresa's dad is warning her about being prudent. He then asks her about her conversation with her mom about preferring her to be dead instead of Rosa (?). Teresa blows this off.

Teresa goes upstairs to where he mom is ironing. The mom is upset, and they start talking about Teresa's comment regarding preferring her dead over Rosa. They converse about Teresa's wants in this world. I kind of lost it here.

Teresa chats with mom.
Mariano and dad talk about love and being a couple and I think the dad is talking about his love for his (late) wife and advising Mariano. He then says in the morning they're going to operate on little Pablito.

Teresa alone in her room. What a marvelous day! She exclaims to herself. She then coos about how much she loves Mariano. If you had money, you'd be the perfect man, she says to herself.

In the morning, Mariano calls Teresa on her cell. She's still in bed. He wants to see her. She's on her way. She goes to get dressed. She greets him and he's saying he hopes he didn't upset her dad too much. They kiss until her dad calls her away. Mariano is going to the hospital to be with Pablito. When Teresa has left, the dad goes up to Mariano and asks that he respect Teresa. He wants them to be cautious. "Do you understand?" he says to Mariano.

Dad warns Mariano about being careful with Teresa.

Everyone in the neighborhood is saying a prayer for little Pablito. As they separate they hear violin music. It's Juana's suitor playing! Juana acts a bit fluttering and embarrassed about this. She and Teresa go down to talk to him and they see that he is playing the violin for a hot blonde chick. He turns around, looking totally busted, and explains to Juana that he is playing for this "gringeta." (I assume a tourist.) Juana looks absolutely shocked and stricken. She rushes off. Suitor has a fleeting look of complete satisfaction at this. The gringette then asks him (in English) if Juana is okay. Suitor gestures that yeah, he guesses so. Interesting scene. Gringette has a perfect accent—I assume that she's a native English speaker.

The pretty gringette wants to know if Juana's okay.

Pablito's parents, Mariano, and Esperanza at the hospital. Mariano is explaining to mom that it's a complicated procedure. But don't worry, be patient and pray.

Mariano goes to talk to Pablito. He can't be there in the surgery but he's helping him prepare.

Juana is crying and telling Teresa that she thought suitor was a gentleman, but here he is, the first chance he gets, with another (oh wait, a—that's singular! she corrects herself) novia.

Paulo talking with curly-headed buddy about Teresa. His mom won't allow him to have her as a novia. She's too poor, he says. I missed the rest of the conversation.

Teresa at the Hot Professor's office. There is some conversation about how Teresa got rid of pesky ex. Teresa makes this speech about how (I think) when you love someone, you fight for them. She says this so passionately and Hot Professor (I know his name is Arturo, but I like Hot Prof) looks so intently at this. Wow, he is totally falling for this!

Professor Hottie is being played like a violin by Teresa.

After the break, Hot Professor says he's going to put Paloma behind him. She's buried and he's going on with his life! Teresa exclaims happily about this and hugs him. We see an overhead shot of him almost embracing her back. He is so tempted, you can tell. Then she jumps back and apologizes for her impulsiveness. She goes off to make coffee to celebrate and Hot Professor looks very moved by this latest display.

Professor Hottie is so tempted. He moves his hands to embrace her, but doesn't quite get there before she jumps back.

Mariano is explaining the treatment of Pablito to the family.

More with curly-headed buddy and Paulo talking about how Paulo is treating Aida.

Teresa brings coffee to Hot Professor. They are going to celebrate his freedom from Paloma. He says something about being free to love another woman, and Teresa withdraws and looks upset. When he asks what's wrong, she haltingly says that whatever woman he has chosen will be very happy. She looks as if she thinks he's already in love with another. She turns from him and you see on her face that she is TOTALLY FAKING and is doing this all for effect. And it's completely working. Our Hot Professor is looking discombobulated and confused and also very moved by her display.

She is so totally playing him.

Quick cut to Paloma at a bookstore. She sees a poster announcing some conference or speech that's going to be given by Hot Professor, regarding his book. She's gonna go!

Teresa sees Luisa and puts on a big display of crying and saying she's so happy that Hot Professor has found someone to love or something. This is totally calculated. She wants to leave them with the impression that Teresa is devastated because Hot Professor loves another woman and not her, Teresa. Though Teresa does claim that she's crying over the loss of her sister.

Juana chews out suitor for his violin playing with gringette. Throws him out.

Luisa visits brother Hot Professor and talks about what went on with Teresa.  Hot Professor is asking Luisa about what went on with Teresa and her reaction. She says Teresa was crying over the loss of her sister. What other reason would she have for crying, Luisa asks? None that Professor Hottie can think of, though you know he is thinking of another reason.

Pablito's had his operation and he's had to have a kidney removed. (Thank you Vivi for clearing this up!) Esperanza and Mariano are talking with him. Mariano says that the medicine he's taking is strong. Pablito says he knows, he feels terrible. The medicine is going to help, Mariano says.

Teresa gives Hot Professor some paper she's been working on for his conference. It's more than he asked for. He seems pleased with this and impressed. Then she says she's got to go see Pablito in the hospital.

Aida and Paulo chatting and kissing and Aida speaks in baby talk. So annoying. FF>>>

Teresa and Mariano waking hand in hand on the street, talking about how well Pablito made it through the surgery. They sit at a cafe. Mariano says that he's been given a book to read by the nice doctor.

Nice doctor is telling Esperanza the let Pablito rest. Esperanza asks the doctor about a letter of recommendation he's going to give her to help her get a job in the hospital (?).

I think we're all asking ourselves, why doesn't Esperanza hook up with the nice doctor instead?

Juana talking with Teresa's mom about the faithfulness of her suitor. Juana is protesting too much about how she doesn't want him or any other man.

At Hot Professor's speech, Paloma shows up to watch him. Teresa is in the audience too.

Esperanza thanking nice doctor for the letter of recommendation. Ruben calls her. She's trying to explain that a neighbor was the one who helped arrange to cover for Pablito's medical expenses. He wants a full explanation later.

At Hot Professor's speech, Paloma sees that Teresa is there too. Her face falls.

Teresa's dad gives mom some money and tells her not to worry. She is worried about him working too hard to get money for Teresa (?). But he looks worried.

Aida is at home, lounging on the couch, as her parents come in. Dad says he heard what she was talking about. I guess she's busted.

Teresa confronts Paloma, as Paloma is trying to rush out. Behind them rush Hot Professor and the sister. Everyone looks impactado at seeing each other.

Paloma wants to clear things up with Professor Hottie, but not if Teresa can help it.

END OF EPISODE!

Awesome recap Elvira. Teresa is playing Arturo like a fiddle. It brings to mind a lyric from MJ's song Dangerous that goes, "the girl is bad, the girl is dangerous." Teresa is definitely out to conquer Arturo and then what? I guess that's the fun in finding out this game she's playing with Mariano and Arturo.

Esp really needs to get a job. She would feel better about herself if she earned her money instead of being a kept woman. Will she ever grow a backbone?

From the previews, I think Paloma tells Arturo about the lies Teresa told her of being his woman and being pregnant. I'm beginning to think maybe Paloma did have a child. Everytime Teresa mentions being pregnant, Paloma looks pained. I can't wait to see what it is she desperately wants to tell Arturo.

I agree that the blonde gringrette's English accent was perfect. Maybe she is a native English speaker.

Elvira- Thanks for getting this up so fast. The title of this should have been: "Pablito Loses a Kidney and Teresa Loses Her Virginity"

One big thing to correct-- Esperanza returned Ruben's money via Arturo because Dr. Lidesma got Pablito into a special program that paid for most of the medical costs. Ruben, who wants to control her, went crazy when he heard some guy in her vecinidad (Mariano) helped make that happen. Remeber he got upset before when Mariano gave her family money to help with the medical expenses. Then after Pablito used up all of Espe's cell phone batteries playing games, he's was really ticked that he couldn't reach her right away. He was just looking for any pretext to get back to Mexico and make sure no one else was stepping into his territory. Aida provided the perfect excuse.

What Teresa and Espe were talking about was sex. Teresa asked about Espe's first time, which was with Ruben. Espe spoke about how wondering making love with someone you truly love is amazing. Teresa decided it was time to take the plunge with the love of her life, Mariano. One key thing Teresa asked Espe was why, if her boyfriend is so powerful and successful and can get any woman, would he choose a poor girl like Espe. We know the answer, adn I think Teresa does too. It's so that he can control her and have her at his beck and call.

They got Pablo's tumor. Yay! But had to take out a kidney. Boo! Which means he will have to have a special diet from now on. He also starts chemo soon, which they were trying to explain how it will make him feel.

Teresa's mom's name is stupid

I'm not sure what to think about Teresa's mom, Refugio. She, in a way, understands Teresa more than her father does, he trusts Teresa and her mother doesn't....and truthfully, she can't be trusted on any level. She loves Teresa, but does't approve of her ambitions and really doesn't support her efforts. She feels that Teresa should be happy in the vecindad like she has always been. Really, their relationship is a mess because there is no meeting of the minds between them.

Elvira, thanks for the quick, fun recap. I think we should FF> through ALL Pablo and Aida's scenes!

Does anyone else think that Paulo's curly headed friend looks like the late Heath Ledger?

Refugio understands that Teresa will leave them all in the hood and never look back once an opportunity to leave presents itself. The more Teresa is around rich people, the more Teresa gets determined to leave and Refugio doesn't want that.

Thank you Vivi for the pretty huge correction about Ruben's motivations! I have not been watching this telenovela as faithfully as I should and sort of winged it tonight—and you see the result! But I knew you guys would correct the stuff I got wrong! Now that Eva Luna has been put to rest I can focus more on this storyline, which looks to be interesting. Professor Hottie is a great character and I'm looking forward to seeing how his storyline develops.

Yeah, it makes more sense that Ruben is a control freak about the money. I've edited the bits I got wrong (hope I got them all) regarding the returning of the money.

Off to add some screencaps now! :D

Sandy is absolutely right. Refugio has been content with her lot and is uncomfortable with Teresa's ambitions. I don't think it's just a case of her leaving them behind; she sees that Teresa is a devoradora. That is much more frightening than Teresa simply wanting to be a successful professional.

Elvira: your recap was wonderful and your screwen shots - spectacular! Loved the title which of course is the perfect title.

"Hot Professor (Arturo)" indeed! this role is proving that still waters run deep. Rulli may not be quite as hot as Levy or as sexy as Yanez or Colunga, but there's a smoking fire there (right, Pirate Babe? :))

Wonderful, witty comments already. I love this blog...

Vivi, thanks for the clarification of some of the crucial events.

Sandy, you hit the nail on the head in describing Teresa's mother's insight, who "understands Teresa more than her father does". She does. And she is afraid. Very afraid. As she should be...

Elvira, thanks again. You made my day.

Diana

I don't watch this and didn't read the recap but saw the pictures and thought "oh my, someone sure has great quailty with their pics." Should have known it was you Elvira!! Great pics as always.

Good morning. :-) Thank you Elvira!

With the fake-tear scene that bamboozled Arturo and Luisa, I'm afraid I have to put one black mark on Teresa's board.

Gotta say, the Cuernavaca house is a dream; but I wasn't too fascinated by the love scene. Not a lot of tension there.

The one I'm looking forward to is with Arturo, who will have a strong reaction that will be interesting to watch.

From yesterday, I would like to mention that Paloma dumped Arturo 11 years ago; so any child would be younger than 11 -- i.e., not Aurora.

It will be interesting to see who broke Aurora and her dad's heart though. I note dad has not remarried.

Cutberto's blonde chica spoke well, but she did have a noticeable accent and is not a native speaker, IMO. She probably won't be back anyway...

She served her purpose, LOL. It took a blonde, American bombshell to blast poor Juana out of her comfort zone. She feels guilty about taking up with someone after her husband's death.

The program Dr. Ledesma put Pablito in is a regular experimental-drug trial. It was said that the drugs had been used elsewhere with effect. That's why it was affordable, though; there is some risk. It was a nice touch that Mariano suggested the drug trial to Ledesma.

When the doctor and Esperanza are together, I always am seeing romance possibilities. And now he's going to give her a letter of recommendation to work as a nurse there. (Will she get into trouble for not having finished her program?)

Esperanza really loves Rubén, as Arturo noted to him on the phone; and I think he will eventually leave his wife for her.

Rubén is a control freak; but I think he knows she loves him and is horrified of losing her. He didn't rush home about the money so much as to find out who else gave it to her in his stead.

Refugio seems to be more concerned about Teresa's soul than losing her to a big bank account. Refugio doesn't disapprove of Mariano becoming a doctor and bettering himself, I note.

Now, about Genoveva: I had this horrifying idea creep up while she was discussing with Aida her ill-fated love affair and subsequent divorce of a poor substitute.

Genoveva didn't tell Aida that Rubén was the love affair, of course; but everybody's wondering why in the world she wants to be in laws with someone who hurt her.

What if Paulo is Rubén's son!? And she threw the half-siblings together to commit incest to hurt Rubén...

That sounds pretty crazy, doesn't it. But as Vivi said, we need a really good villain in this; that would qualify.

I always get a feeling of a cold, 17 jewel movement going on under Genoveva's skin.

Can't think of anything else, and if any of this sounds nuts, it's because I have the flu; I'm claiming extenuating circumstances.

Stupid website -- I had a whole post written out, and when I went to post, it lost it.

Elvira, a great recap with wonderful screen shots, thanks.

The relationship between all of the people in the vecindad is very confusing. It is like they all live in one big room.

I do hope that Teresa's dad has not borrowed money to keep her happy. There are just too many people in his life to keep satisfied.

Dr. Hottie and Esperanza should get together. That Ruben is nothing but bad news.

Teresa is playing with fire and doesn't even know it. I am afraid she is going to be badly burned before this is over.

I felt sorry for Juana, poor thing. She has a good heart and deserves better treatment.

Rosemary

Genoveva was definitely talking about Ruben- the one who married someone else, who she couldn't forget, and the cause of the end of her marriage. I don't get what she and his other women see in Ruben. I guess he's good at turning on the charm. But he also is mean spirited and controlling. Esperanza is so in love with him. Poor girl. And he's the first man in her life. She needs to explore other possibilities, like dear doctor Lidesma. They are hinting at something being there, but it's going to take Espe a long time to get Ruben out of her system it seems. Pablito even said that he thought it ideal if a boyfriend and girlfriend work in the same field-- hence why he thought Mariano would make a good boyfriend for her.

I was really surprised Paloma attempted yet again to see Arturo. She REALLY wants to talk to him. Somehow, I don't think she'll say whatever it is in front of Teresa and Luisa. But it looks like Teresa is busted on her lies.

I agree that Refugio's fears about Teresa are more about the kind of person she suspects Teresa is- money and power hungry, lacking scruples, a devorada. I don't think she has a problem with the young people moving ahead and out of the vecinidad. She is the ONLY person who sees Teresa for who she really is, although she's afraid to say it out loud to anyone, or to admit it to herself. Therefore her concerns end up sounding like a nervous Nelly mother.

Oh, yeah, was not implying Genoveva's affair was anyone else than Rubén -- just that of course she did not reveal the identity to Aida.

Jeri, I too found myself extremely bored during the love scene. Teresa and Mariano are lacking something in their scenes and that's heat whereas everytime she and professor are together their scenes crackle with sexual tension. Yes. Diana the spark is simmering.

I too didn't like the crocodile tears because we all know that Teresa is playing Arturo. Somehow I don't think Arturo is the type of person she wants to toy with. Look at how he acted with Paloma.

Jeri, so many good ideas, I might like to add a black mark on Teresa’s board because she told Paloma that she was pregnant and of course she isn’t ...yet! That’s pretty low. I think there will be plenty of black marks by the end of the novela. Paloma has had a nightmare realization that she made a terrible mistake in dropping the Prof, maybe she is just sick about lost opportunities....she hasn’t married and hasn’t had that baby she might have wanted......a baby or no baby? This will be interesting to watch.

Rubin, like most womanizers, needs a hospital of psychiatrists to figure out his psyche, he wants to control/love Esp, but he is constantly on the make, even at an important event like Arturo’s book party. I love it that the producers have made him look so foolish with his wig....that was kind of them, we get a laugh or two while he is on the screen.

Mother/daughter relationships are so complicated. We’ve seen the Judds, Wynonna and her mother Naomi, fighting for years and now the actress sister, Ashley has written a tell all memoir putting the whole bunch in unfavorable light! For some crazy reason, I have a nagging feeling that Refugio would have problems with even a good daughter leaving the vecindad, because of her comment to that effect, like when my husband’s family member said to him, why would you want to go to school up north (Harvard) when we have a perfectly good school here....UT Chattanooga?! Refugio doesn’t get her daughter’s ambition but DOES get her manipulative personality. Teresa’s upward move is a blessing to Refugio, at least she is out of sight with most of her lying chanagains for the time being.

Urban, I’m glad you introduced the word, “devoradora,” we will be using it!

Thanks mucho, Elvira! Always love the technical touches that bring your recaps to life! Dr. Hottie is one smokin' hot blonde! I've always liked Rulli. As far as his character goes, I guess he really is an emotionally fragile kind of guy and Teresa may be unwittingly setting this man up for a major fall. We'll see I suppose.

Thanks Elvira!! Great pictures!!
Wow Teresa has got skills. Her performance for hot prof was all too effective.
I am hoping that she ends up actually having feelings for him and that throws some more tension into their relationship. I agree that I LOVE their scenes together. Loooove them.
Yeah she totally gets busted on the lies with Paloma-I'm excited to see if he goes for it or not. He isn't one to blurt out "No way. She's not my mujer!" I dont know if he is capable of blurting out anything. He will probably carefully consider the lies and then decide how to procede. Then again, Paloma drives him to drink, so maybe she will drive him to blurt, heh. Who knows.
Yeah the love scene was meh--Geez she didnt wait long to take advantage of that house. Aurora isn't even out of the coutry yet! (And I don't exactly want her to leave. Not for long, anyway.)
Go Espe and Mr. NiceDoc!
Ew incest! But I can absolutely see her (Gen) being a villain.
Also another clarification that I missed on my recap yesterday and was confirmed last night, I THINK, is that Johnny was saying he is going to be a taxista now. The reason I didn't say it before is because he already has a job so I thought I must have misheard. But they repeated it tonight, right? Somehow that has something to do with missing Rosita? Like maybe working too hard and not trying to have fun or meet girls?

Elvira, thanks for your wonderful recap, I haven't had much time to watch all 120 minutes every night, but your recap was the perfect antidote. Very funny coments, yes, Teresa is a great violinist, LOL.
Paolo's mother gives me the creeps. Who ever heard of a mother pushing two youngsters together like that and conspiring with the girlfriend? No mother of a son that I know. Can't see incest for revenge as a motive, though. Probably she wants to merge the two families for some reason, and really didn't like Teresa.

Samantha: I think that Johnny is using Mariano's cab to do the taxista thing as a second job to get extra cash to help pay for Pablito's treatment. Maybe a few hours in the evenings. I didn't think he'd be doing it every evening, but when Mariano's not using it. Did I hear him say he'd pay a bit towards it?

I thought also that Refugio and Armando thought it was unhealthy for Johnny to be so tied to Rosita's memory. Refugio had Armando suggest that he leave Rosita in the past and get on with his life and told him to start thinking of the living again--and of dating again.

Ooooh. Okay. That makes sense. I was mixing the two separate issues. I remember papa Chavez saying he didnt think it was healthy and that he would talk to Johnny, and the conversation after.
And that does make my brain tingle a little bit... I must sort of remember hearing Mariano say something like that.
Thanks Jardinera654!

Fabulous photos and great recap, Elvira.

I so do want to protect HOT PROF from Teresa. He seems like the vulnerable type and he may eventually end up wounded again. If Teresa wants all Hot Prof can offer (the good life,) she needs to stop seeing Mariano. She's been implying to Hot Prof and Luisa that she's in love with Arturo. But I guess Teresa wants it all. Mariano's probably the only thing that makes living in the barrio somewhat tolerable for her.

I was surprised Teresa gave herself to Mariano since she doesn't seem to be that much in love with him (no really smoking hot chemistry on her part.)

GinCA

I don't think Teresa is capable of love. She may also want to be more sexually experienced when the time comes for her to get it on with a more sophisticated man.

Wonderful recap and pics Elvira!

UA: I think Teresa loves Mariano, she just doesn't love him in the "true love" way we see in other novelas. Teresa puts herself above anyone and everything. I don't think she is uncapable of love but I do think she is uncapable of pure selfless love. At least at this point.

I also don't think Teresa values her virginity in the way most telenovela heroines do either, she wasn't waiting for marriage and got side tracked with the love of her life. But she does value it in a way that can be more common to many girls today in that she wanted her first time to be with the person she truly wanted and she wanted to be the one in control of the situation and have it happen in the right place at the right moment (and what better place for Teresa than a very expensive and beautiful house).
