Cuando Me Enamoro #32 Friday 6/3/11 It's NOT a tumor.

It's NOT a too-mah. Not a toom-ah at all. Please visit this link for the proper Schwarzenegger pronunciation of the title. He's not my favorite guy at the moment but damn if the clip isn't appropriate for this capitulo.

Fina gives Dr. Pushover an affably evil grin as he mulls over her mystery proposition.

Matilde excitedly greets Jero when he arrives at the hacienda. Jero drops in to visit the unfortunately-no-longer-shirtless Carlos. He assures Jero that his injuries look worse than they really are and that pursuing legal action will be useless. Agustin controls the entire region and everyone is afraid of him. If Jero dredges up trouble with Augie and then heads off for Spain, the whole thing will be forgotten anyway.

Antonio convinces Regina to hire only one official to investigate her missing daughter. Doña Cata brings in a package that was delivered for Regi. She opens the box and pulls out a pair of white baby shoes and a little red-checkered dress. It was the last outfit Reginita was wearing before she was kidnapped. Regi hyperventilates and quickly passes out.

Meanwhile, Gonzo is having evening tea with Constanza. She's glad that Renata has her reputation cleared. Nata arrives and Coni heads into the other room so she and Gonzo can chat. I wonder if Renata has been taking fashion tips from Tia Coni, since they are both wearing similarly styled, salmon-pink dresses.

Gonzo doesn't beat around the bush. "Fina and I are getting a divorce." Nata's eyes widen in surprise.

Cata holds the modern equivalent to smelling salts under Regina's nose until she rouses. Regi cries as she explains that the baby clothes were what her hija was wearing the last time Regi ever saw her. Cata devises that this must mean the baby-snatcher, along with the long-lost Reginita, are somewhere close to them. Regina holds the little dress in a death grip. "My hija is alive! This assurance is the the most valuable thing that has happened to me in years!"

Tony hopes that Regi is right but warns her not to get her hopes up too high. Regi thinks the package might mean the robber regrets stealing Reginita. "The robber knows who I am and wants to contact me but is afraid of the consequences." Tony isn't sure what the package means but thinks it's a good idea to call Detective Cantu immediately.

Agustin tells Dr. Nesme over the phone that he will personally show up at the notary in Ensenada to seal the deal. Dr. Nesme is pleased; as of the following day, Hacienda La Bonita will be Agustin's. Augie wonders why he should bother with the hacienda if Renata isn't there. "I don't know how or when, but both will be mine."

Augie surprises a pretty, young blonde at her apartment. She is clearly happy to see him since they start deep-tonguing the moment his foot crosses the threshold.

Regi sits alone in her bedroom and prays to the Virgin to help her find her hija. She wants nothing more than to hold her daughter in her arms once more.

Nata asks Gonzo if she caused the divorce between him and Fina. Nata knows that they argued for years about how Fina treated her and now that Nata was kicked out...No way, says Gonzo. "Stop blaming yourself for all the problems in the family! Fina and I have been having trouble for a long time and it was finally the moment to accept it." Gonzo says he loves Fina and appreciates all the good times they had together as a family (that presumably didn't involve Fina screeching and seething).

Nata understands how horrible it is not to be able to give someone the love that they desire. Gonzo lays out the game plan: Matias and Gonzo are going to move out while the Fieras continue their reign over the casa. "They need to continue living with all the commodities they are used to. The offer includes you, even if you don't want to live with them." Nata quickly turns him down; she would only cause more problems. Gonzo doesn't want Renata to think that way. "I accept what happened between you and Matias, it affected my greatly, but I accept it. Your presence has filled my life with blessings. You will always be my hija." Renata feels the same way about her padre and hugs him close. If only we could get Gonzo to walk the walk as often as he talks the talk...

Honorio is surprised to find Adriana at the office so late. She finishes just in time to head home to have dinner with her madre. Honorio asks to tag along. Adri is a little taken aback but agrees and runs to grab her things. "How much my life would have changed if I had know about you." Honorio thought-bubbles. Daniel catches a glimpse of Adri leaving with Hon and the music has a fit about it.

Chema meets up with Selene in a restaurant. They have drinks, Sele assuring him that this is the first of many happy encounters. Slow down, girl! I don't think he even knows your name, so don't start filling out the wedding invitations yet.

Roberta enacts phase 2 of Fina's master plan. Rob sits on the stairs and plays her part well. Matias inquires about her mopey mood and Rob says it's because of her heartbreak over their one-night-stand, plus their parents are getting a divorce because Gonzo is interested in another woman. Mat is sure Gonzo doesn't have a wandering eye. Rob cries that she always looked to Gonzo as a padre, even though he always preferred Renata. "Gonzo is divorcing Fina, not you. You and Renata will always be hijas to him."

Rob lets the waterworks flow. "I feel like all men who love me, abandon me. First my real padre and now Gonzo. And you too. We were hermanos." Matias promises that he will always be her brother. Oh, squick. Stop calling each other siblings after you bumped uglies please.

Agustin's lady friend with the incredibly small waist asks why he finally returned. She wanted to marry him, yet he never wanted to commit. "Did you come back to tell me you want to marry me? No, right? Something major must have happened for you to come back to me. Don't tell me what you think I want to hear." Agustin asks her to come with him to the hacienda. "As what? Your friend, lover, or wife?" Agustin grins. "You are my woman. From the moment I met you, I never promised anything more. What do you say?" Lady-friend starts macking with Augie, so I'll take that as a yes.

Jero is in paperwork hell at the hacienda. Everything has to be redone to include Agustin in the contract. Carlos knows that Augie is an astute businessman but he is positive that Jero will win the hacienda back.

Renata and Jero text message each other. They want to see each other soon. She tells him about her parents divorce but she wants to give him the details in person. Lots of "I luuurv you!" and "I lurrv you more!". They both look very happy, so let's just bask in the glow until it inevitably disappears.

Karina gets home to find Dr. Nesme nursing a bottle of tequila. He pours her a drink to celebrate Agustin's acquisition of Hacienda La Bonita. Kari is upset that her hubbie has become one of Augie's minions. "Since Rafa died, you have become Agustin's right arm!" Nesme snaps that he is the doctor around here and he owns no one any explanations. "Shut up. It makes you much prettier." Blech. Is there much more el Doctorcito can do to make us hate him more?

Fina spouts poison to Renata over the phone. "I hope you're happy that you caused this distance between your padre and me!" Nata asks her madre why she is always blamed for everything. Gonzo told her it wasn't her fault. "He is just protecting you! Our decision to divorce wasn't only because of you but because your padre has another woman." Nata does not want to believe such a thing but she does want to visit Fina. For a change, Fina agrees. But not without getting a barb in at Nata. "Maybe for once in your life, I can get you on my side."

Tony tells Regi that the detective will stop by first thing in the morning. He promises Regi that he will help her find her hija and the robber, whatever the cost. I hope he didn't just put the nail in his own coffin with that statement. Tony might end up on the business end of Fina's next knife if he isn't careful.

Honorio shares a pizza with Agatha and Adriana, a decidedly more relaxed get-together than their last dinner party. Even Agatha is enjoying herself. Meanwhile, a concerned Coni tries to call Honorio but is stuck leaving a voicemail.

Chema tells Selene that his future ambition is to own his own restaurant but it would cost a lot of dinero. His padres could help him out but he would rather do it with his own money. Sele is impressed.

It's finally morning in this capitulo! Matilde and Carlos stand in the fields and talk about the contract. Agustin is shrewd and won't let the hacienda go without a fight. Mati has harsh words for Jero because he sold the hacienda out of momentary grief. Jero takes a last look at the gorgeous fields before heading over to the notary with Carlos and Lazaro.

Over breakfast, Honorio tells Constanza about what a time he had with Aggie and Adri the night before. Coni warns him again that he should not get so involved; he is just a friend not a brother or father in the family. Instead of taking the perfect opportunity to tell Constanza the truth, he just clams up about it.

Renata arrives to visit Fina and Roberta snarks at her. Nata finds Fina still in bed and panics when she can't wake her. Nata screams for Roberta to call an ambulance. Gonzo and Matias rush in to help. Nata does what she can to try to wake Fina while Gonzo calls Fina's doctor.

Detective Cantu checks the package that was sent to Regi. He thinks that Reginita must be alive, because whoever sent the package is probably doing so because Reginita is supposed to inherit her father's fortune once she turns 25. Regi is overjoyed at the news.

Jero gets the paperwork and Carlos recognizes the three thugs who beat him up. Lazaro rolls up his sleeves to settle the score. LOL. While I'm sure Lazaro could take the punks single-handedly, Jero convinces him to let it be. Jero has a better way to get revenge on Agustin's goons.

Fina's doctor examines her and informs the family that Fina has been having severe migraines recently. The doctor says they must have been brought on by severe stress. He warns them that they need to be considerate with Fina and avoid upsetting her or riling her emotions, at least until the test results come back. Roberta shoots Gonzo a fierce look.

Agustin arrives at the notary with his lady friend (Arely). He agrees to meet Jero in person, since Jero deigned to show up instead of sending his lackey. Augie orders Dr. Nesme to speed things along.

Fina stirs and everyone rushes to her side. The family leaves so the doctor can talk to Fina alone. Fina sits up triumphantly. The doctor applauds her ability to pull off the ruse. After a little reveling in their wretchedness, the doctor ushers the anxious family back into the room. Nata and Rob rush to Fina's bedside and Gonzo asks to talk to the doctor in private. Fina glares at Nata when she says that her illness was brought upon by all the recent stress. Nata is stricken; she is again being blamed for things beyond her control.

The doctor tells Gonzo that Fina had been having tests done for a while without telling anyone. She didn't want to cause any worry. The doctor is worried that Fina is showing symptoms of a brain tumor(!!!!!). GAHigkmref;lnb4jhfbnrsjfevjnfkjdn (Sorry about that. But this makes me so angry, I had to smash keys in frustration. It's the next best thing to cursing as loud as possible.)

Renata tells Fina that she is going to cancel everything she has to do in favor of taking care of her madre. She gives Regi a call to tell her she won't be in. Fina's hackles raise upon the realization that Nata is working with Regi. "You cannot work in that place! Regina Soberon is your father's lover!" Fina tosses the photos at Nata as proof. "Please, hija. You have to promise me you will never get close to that woman!"

Ines tells Regi and Cata that her son has started his first round of chemo. Meanwhile, Isidro and Andres have both gotten their heads shaved since Andrescito is about to lose his hair anyway.

Nata glances at the pictures of Regina and Gonzo while Fina cries about how Regi is destroying her (Fina's) marriage. Fina tells Nata she will give Gonzo a divorce so he can be happy. Gonzo drops in and Robbie and Nata promise to take care of Fina. Gonzo leaves for work and promises to have a talk with Renata later. Once alone, Fina gloats over the phone to her doctor.

Renata barges into Regina's office and drops the incriminating photos on Regi's desk. "How long have you been my father's lover?" Regina is stunned.

Jero and Co. sit across the table from Agustin and Co. Just as the last of the paperwork is about to be signed, Jero rips the contract in two. Agustin is infuriated but Jero stands strong. "There is no contract. I would rather pay the penalty than sell my brother's land to an ass like you!" The hombres stare daggers at each other. Let the cage match begin! Shirts vs. Skins please. Or rather no shirts at all. :)

Avances: "The competition for Renata is strong. Renata and Roberta come face to face over Jero!" Roberta screeches at Nata and Nata slaps her a good one.

Vocab:

Todo esto se va a quedar en el olvido - All of this will be forgotten.
Un gran hallazgo - A great find. (Tony about the package)
Cada vez que se pega la gana - "Whenever the desire hits". I think it means "On a whim, spur of the moment", as far I I understand it. (Lady-friend Arely to Augie).
No me digas lo que sabes que quiero oir - Don't tell me what you think I want to hear. (Lady-friend Arely to Augie).
Involucrarse - to get involved. (What Coni wishes Hon wouldn't do.)
Jaquecas - migraines (Fina supposedly suffers them.)

Oh my, I practically snorted my passion fruit martini out my nose because of: "Oh, squick. Stop calling each other siblings after you bumped uglies please."

Amy, you were on fire tonight. Thank you for the plethora of scathingly brilliant comments.

Isn't it weird that Regina Junior's stuff showed up after all these years? I'm just not buying the lawyer's theory that her inheritance is due. Something is off.

Sorry for the short comment but the Tiki Bar is about to get loud. Gotta dash. More tomorrow.

Thanks Amy, you rock!

Right there with you Sylvia, except I'm drinking my morning coffee. Wonderful stuff Amy. You were rocking last night.

Mr. I - Has to be Fina's Doctor. He was my main candidate coming into last night, and he didn't disappoint. What a rube and sell out. Brain tumor?????????? C'mon people...someone suffering from a brain tumor shows symptoms. An obnoxious personality disorder is not one of them. Our Carlos needs to smack this guy.

I'm hoping Nata isn't so starved for Momma dearests' attention that she is going to fall for all the "help me" crap for long. And those pictures are getting on my last nerve - noone bothers to ask why she has them or who took them. And there's nothing in them that looks remotely suspicious. Hopefully Regina can flash the engagement ring and put this whole thing to rest.

"Lady-friend starts macking with Augie, so I'll take that as a yes.' I was like "WTH?" as that scene unfolded. When she first opened the door, I thought it was his daughter (silly me - older guy/younger woman - TN staple),but man - they are entirely taking the bloom off the Augie rose. Except for looks, this guy is basic pond scum.

And of course, friendly co-worker who has the crush is going to jump to the conclusion that Honorio and Adri are having a fling? Is that where that TA-DA music was coming from? Ay-yi-yi. Wondered how that guy would fit into things -

I wish they hadn't shown the ending with Jero as a preview - that would have been more fun since the episode was leading up to him actually selling. But it was still fun to see Augie and Doc's reaction when he tore up the agreement.

Ok - I'm sorry - but I'm still on the fence with Toni - why can Regina hire only the one guy to search? And how the heck does does this guy conclude that the box was sent because of the inheritance coming due...my brain was spinning how he came up with that A+B=Z. Are we supposed to think Fina sent the box? Sorry - but I'm going to go on record as saying I'm not trusting Toni.

Selene - mini stalker in the making

Some lively slapping next week - always good. And I'm sure more Augie fireworks...Good stuff.

As usual, my pal Sylvia and I picked the same quote as stellar: Oh, squick. Stop calling each other siblings after you bumped uglies please." Very off-putting to hear the brother-sister relationship stressed after that.

Also loved your reference to Fina and Roberta as the Fieras. Didn't watch the program but from the promos, the description fits!

Not sure what Augustin's strategy is in bringing an ex-girlfriend to the hacienda. And the leukemia story continues to be so depressing...now the little lad and his papa look like Cone-heads in their rubberized coverups.

Interesting how one's perception of an actress changes according to the role. The woman playing Selene was witty, feisty and charming in Tontas; now she seems so clumsy and socially awkward.

I think we all agree the only fetching side story right now is the incipient romance between Carlos and Matilde. The rest I'd be more than willing to pitch.

Oh and in addition to thanking you for the witty recap, I also enjoyed the link to Kindergarten Cop. Arnold's nobody's favorite right now, that's for sure, but his accent is so much fun.

Great job, Amy. I join Sylvia, daisynjay, and Judy in their appreciation and praise of this nifty piece of writing.

I suppose it won't help Dr. Dumb's cause if I suggest that perhaps he was trying to be romantic when he told Karina, "Shut up. It makes you much prettier.", by almost quoting a Pablo Neruda love poem? Guess not. Wonder if it worked for Pablo?

If he wasn't being sweet... then he's my candidate for Mr Inappropriate. The other Dr. was just doing what Dr.s in Mexico (at least in TNs) do.

I too admit to feeling a little queasy at the renewed assertions of filial affection between Roberta and Matias. I had considered that bridge burned.

I like Selene. I gather that she doesn't do much other than hang out at the club, but she does seem to have a sense of what's right. It'll be fun to see if she and Coni actually become rivals over Chema.

At first I thought that Jerry and Augie's spare novia must know each other since he kissed her on the cheek there in the notary's office... but... apparently not. I guess he just assumes that every woman he meets wants to be kissed by him... or maybe it was a feeble attempt at garnering today's Mr. I. award.

I wish that Jerry hadn't restrained Lazaro. I want justice for Carlos... now.

Carlos

"Spare novia"...ouch! Carlos. As for "Calladita te ves más bonita", I remember while in France, several men told me their ideal woman would be a deaf-mute! Ah these adorable Latino males...

Amy- What a funny, funny recap. I loved it.

I can't believe that Augie had a spare "woman" lying around. But I really can't believe she's going to accept just being his mujer, with no formal promises of marriage or even noviazgo.

I have to hand it to Fina. This was way better than a fake suicide, which we thought she was planning. Everyone feels sorry for her and Gonzo thinks that she doesn't know what's really wrong with her. AND she also turns Nata against Gina and makes sure those two don't bond. She's good.

As for who sent the box of stuff... I'm not sure. We didn't see Fina making any plans to drive Gina batty, did we? But she did seem really intrigued to elarn Roberta has the same heart defect as Renata and Roberto. That led me to believe that she will try to pass Rob off as the long lost daughter and get her hands on the inheritance. So perhaps this is part of a longer term plan leading up to that faux reveal? It might also be the man who helped Fina out right after she stole Nata (Reginita) and took off with the babies. We did see her receive those wanted posters of herself in an envelope when she first switched towns. Perhaps whoever did that now thinks they can get something out of Gina in exchange for info on her daughter? Hmmmm....

My favorite little bit from our favorite couple (Carlos II and Matilde)-- when they were in the fields before going to sign the papers, Mati comments to Carlos that Augie has brought some city girl back with him and doesn't like the women in their town. Carlos looks at her significantly and says something like Augie must be crazy or stupid. It went right over her head. I'll cut her some slack since she was ticked at Jero for going to sign over the hacienda.

Flor/Amy, what a superb recap so ably capturing the action with humor and snark to spare. Squick is my top word of the night eeewwww.... Matias run for your life.

Selene is such an appealing actress that I too hate to see her turn into a stalker/boring to death obstacle in Chema's life. I do think Chema will compare her to Constanza who is cool, sophiticated, fun and she was dazzlingly beautiful in this episode. Selene will not fare well with this voltage of competition. Diego will stir up rumors on Hono and Adriana I agree then the perfect marriage will be slammed to the wall while the two examine their options or rather Constanza's option since Honorio is being honorable. He will be a good father and remember Agatha was labeled as inconvenient way back at the beginning so the truth will have to come out.

I think the agreement is not a final sale but like a purchas and sale agreement here. I loved seeing him tear it up. Augie is not going down easy and I am not sure what purpose the lovely blonde will play but she sure is willing and able.

Dr. Foraprice also gets my Mr. Inappropriate. Why do so many doctors and lawyers have that ethical challenge on TN's. Convenient group to bash, I think. He seems to have sworn to the oath to "first do no price cutting"

The box of baby clothes must have come from Fina and they do want to keep the spector of the 25th year inheritance in our minds. My but Fina is busy. I hope Renata doesn't fall to hard for one glimmer of affection from Fina and the charge against Regina. After all, the two could not have had many more clothes on in that restaurant photo. Let's hope the writers don't make everyone swallow stupid pills for a month or two.

Oh crikey--we DO have shades of Eva Lunacy. Gonzo can't get his divorce because of the delicate (faked) state of Fina's health. Too-mah? Plz. This script was going great guns until this petit point.

So Augustin has a spare hanging in the closet to take out when he needs her. She's beautiful, compliant, willing to wait for years without a compromiso. Why, then, does he want charming, gorgeous, independent, accomplished, impudent, I'll do it my way, not your way, thanks, but we are just amigos Renata. Augie as Pond Scum--good one.

Haven't read all the comments, yet, but thanks florez de Amy, always a pleasure to read your recap.

Whatever happened to nighttime pillow talk between Jero and Ren? It's so much sweeter than texting in black and white.

Sylvia--The inheritance time line was brought up early in the show--Fina is very aware of it, though I can't remember who she was talking to--probably herself. Then it was dropped, to resurface last night.

Now that we're at the hacienda, I, too want to see Mati and Carlo's relationship grow. Enough of the googly eye, let's move in for a real kiss.

IA that Tony is being quit presumptive to believe Reggi should only have one and only one official investigator. To give him the benefit of the doubt, though, maybe he's thinking of her bank account. Remember someone mentioning that she spends everything she earns on the search?

I'm with you Vivi--I also thought that Rob was going to be the one passed off as the long-lost daughter. Poor Reggie. Only DNA is going to help here.
NOK

Maravilloso recap; very very funny.

Dang, I need to buy off a doctor to make everyone be extra special nice to me and not give me any stress, no matter how much crap I may choose to sling at them. Clever, Fina.

Honorio's such an idiot. The longer you wait to tell your wife such big news, the worse she's going to take it, dolt.

No kidding Amy was on fire! WOW!

Thanks so much for the "NOT a TOO-MAH" clip! ROTFLOL!!!!!

Anyone still feel this is moving too slow? Seems like it has been rocking and rolling to me! I can't wait for each episode.

I too am totally surprised by the sudden Augie ladyfriend and him taking her to his hacienda. Huh? I can only conclude he is going to use her as a secret weapon somehow, but that implies he is thinking WAY ahead.

Renata is going to slap Roberta? That seems out of character, but maybe now that she is wise to Roberta's "traicion" she no longer looks at her through rose-colored sisterly-love glasses. If only she could have the same happen with her (not) mother.

Audrey

Hey, blogger ate my comment. The nerve!

I love the TOO-MAH clip, back when my governor was as good an actor as he is a...oh never mind.

Augie's new/old girlfriend threw me for a loop. What's her purpose? How can she drop everything and go with him? Doesn't she have a life? Maybe they are business associates or she works for him or something.

I know I sound like a broken record on this subject but Lazaro is my hero. How many guys would readily take on two thugs solo? I seriously hope I get to see him kick someone's ath before too long.

Ooh, Renata slaps Roberta, I can't wait.

I think squick is my new favorite word. I'd never even heard of it before. See how educational this blog is? I get to learn Spanish AND English. Thanks Amy!!

Audrey, the only thing that is moving slowly for me having to wait for the hacienda scenes. Finally we are back in the country!

I think that was all that I said in my vanishing post.

Audrey, I think this week has had at least one jaw dropping revelaton per episode, sometimes more than one. It may bog down later but they are still throwing out plot lines and side lines. It's so fun although it delays any one of our villains from getting pie carts or even having the other characters be on to their games. Roberta is the only amateur that sets everyone's suspicions on edge.
The Tumah clip was so brilliant given how Arnold's stock value has fallen this month. Makes him good company for Fina the ferocious.

And Carlos I loved the Neruda poem but fear it is so typical of what we long suffering feministas must endure in poetry and prose alike.

Ah, Floresdeazul, Thank you! Love the cap! I agree with you about Matias expressing undying brotherly love after bumbpin' uglies (perfect term) with Rob! Ewwwww! And your fit on the keys cracked me up as well -- totally entertaining cap. I hate Renata believing that wretched Fina and getting up in Regina's face when she's just been welcomed so warmly and loivingly into the Regina's Hope family. Maldita Fina! I'm almost tempted to try to look ahead and see how see meets her demise! Will Renata let that lying, pimping, snake of a "mother" turn her against Jero as well? Renata, listen to the metallic screeching that ensues every time Fina comes into a room: wake up, Girl!

Khalilah

Buenos noches a todos. Hope you're having a relaxing weekend.

Sylvia, a passion fruit martini sounds fantastic right about now. I don't know of any convenient Tiki Bars in Ohio so I'll have to live vicariously. And I love the word squick too. I first heard it on TVtropes.org and it is just the perfect word for a nasty situation. Plus it's fun to say!

Augie's "spare novia" is a strange turn for the story. It raises so many questions. Who is she? Why would she drop everything and move in with Augie? Why would she trust him after he already left her high and dry? Time will tell I suppose. If they threw a new character our way to pique audience interest, consider me piqued.

I almost gave Honorio the Mr. I award for inviting himself to dinner, but I let it slide since he's just overeager to get to know his daughter. Dr. InFina'sPocket is far more inappropriate.

Amy

P.S.
Carlos, the Neruda poem must be Dr. Nesme's philosophy on life. I think the only sound he wants to hear is a cork opening.

I guess the two Drs. get the top billing for Misters Inappropriate. What is it with telenovela writers. We see more unethical doctors than ones like Cesar Evora is playing now over on TDA (well he's too good to be believed, but who are we to complain.)
NOK

Please folks, those guys worked hard for the title... make that DR. Inappropriate.

Carlos

I don't know if folks remember some of the Fina details. For one, Fina expects Regina to recognize her if they ever meet socially, so first the murder attempt and now anything she can pull to keep her family distant. Also, Antonio (I think) gave the new PI Fina's full name as someone who might be involved in the original kidnapping, so the PI should be trying to track Fina down, and it doesn't seem like it should take very long. Divine justice that Gonzo has fallen for Regina, and I can't believe Fina isn't even in more of a desperate panic. How she thinks she can pull anything off in claiming Roberto's inheritance for a daughter under these circumstances, I just can't imagine.

Now this only one investigator rule from Antonio? Is that laying out the groundwork for Fina to bribe the investigator too? And where is Fina getting all this money? How can she promise the doctor he'll make so much he'll never have to work again? Are these guys just doing her will on empty promises? You'd think they would need more guarantees than that to commit crimes.

Audrey

Audrey = I'm with you. There has to be some really convoluted plt twists or planning on Fina's part to get her hands on that inheritance. It explains why she needs Regina out of the way - but in any case, how would she have been able to come forward and say "Lookee - here's the long lost daughter- pay up." She'd have some major explaining to do. And they would search down Regina in any case, even if she wasn't in the area.
The mind reels....

Audrey, ITA that Fina probably assumes Regina will recognize her if they meet so she'll try to avoid that at all costs. However Antonio doesn't know Fina so she could theoretically work some evil to influence him. If Fina could somehow convince Antonio that Regina and Gonzo are having an affair it might distract him. I'm presuming that other investigators in the past have also had Pepa's name so somehow she's managed to erase her tracks, not sure how.

The other dilemma you raise, how on earth would Fina be able to pass off Roberta as Regina's daughter without implicating herself. Well that's a tough one because Fina would have to admit to someone, either Roberta or Regina, that she stole baby Regina. One scenario: she could tell Roberta the truth, make her an accomplice, and Roberta could approach Regina. Second scenario: Fina could admit to Regina who she is but claim that if Regina goes to the authorities then the shock will affect Roberta's heart and she'll die. I could see both Fina and Roberta doing these things in order to inherit Roberto's fortune. What I can't see is Regina not demanding some sort of DNA test. Anyway, I'm just guessing here and both those scenarios have lots of holes in them. Most likely the writers will figure out something much more imaginative.

OK Carlos, Doctors Inappropriate it is.

At first I thought maybe Regina didn't know Fina's real name as she was known as "Pepa" back in the day, but then Regina gave the PI her full name "Josefina - ". Their discussion implied they hadn't followed this thread in the past. I don't think Regina thought Pepa had anything to do with it at the time. But the new PI brought up the question of motives for the kidnapping, and mentioned revenge as one possible motive and can she think of anyone who might have wanted to hurt her. That is when Regina brought up Josefina/Pepa and the circumstances and added they had daughters born on the same day.

Audrey

The police were absolutely looking for Pepa right after the kidnapping. I recapped the episode where she was working as an assistant for an important man in some remote town. She opened his mail and it was an APB with drawings of baby Regina and Pepa. She managed to hide the bulletin so the old guy Gustavo never saw the drawing. He was hiding her and prepared fake identity documents because she told him the father of her daughters was after her and wanted to steal them from her. The PIs that Regina hired were looking for Pepa, as were the police, but they could never find her.

At the time Pepa vowed that when the girls turned 25 they would return but until then Regina would have to suffer not knowing what happened to her daughter.

I think this episode was the first one that I recapped, so it would have been the second capitulo.

Oh thanks for clearing that up Sylvia! I really misunderstood then. I thought Regina mentioned to the new PI some path they didn't fully investigate.

I didn't see the first few episodes - the parts in the past, although they show occasional flashbacks.

Regina did tell the PI that the woman's name was Josefina somethingorother, so she hasn't changed at least her first name. Is "Pepa" a nickname for Josefina?

Flores, wonderful recap and comments… I loved…
TOOMAH!!!... brilliant!!
If only we could get Gonzo to walk the walk as often as he talks the talk...
Slow down, girl! I don't think he even knows your name, so don't start filling out the wedding invitations yet.
Blech. Is there much more el Doctorcito can do to make us hate him more?
A decidedly more relaxed get-together than their last dinner party.
And the best of all…
The hombres stare daggers at each other. Let the cage match begin! Shirts vs. Skins please. Or rather no shirts at all. :)
And as far as the vocabulary…
Un gran hallazgo - A great find. (Tony about the package) … or ‘a great discovery’
Cada vez que se pega la gana - "Whenever the desire hits". I think it means "On a whim, spur of the moment", as far I I understand it. (Lady-friend Arely to Augie).
Actually, its more like ‘whenever you/I/they feel like it’
No me digas lo que sabes que quiero oir - Don't tell me what you KNOW I want to hear. (Lady-friend Arely to Augie).

Daisy… TN lover minds think alike…
C'mon people...someone suffering from a brain tumor shows symptoms. An obnoxious personality disorder is not one of them.
Exactly, like major headaches, fainting, dizziness, double vision, loss of sense (vision, smell, taste), loss of body limb control, etc etc.
And… Selene - mini stalker in the making

ITA with the Drs sharing the Mr I title this episode.
Regarding why Fina sends the package to Gina, I agree that it is to make Gina realize little Gina is alive, but also to fulfill the promise that 'we will be back when she turns 25 to claim the inheritance.'... how she will manage that, tbd.
And I think the 'alternate woman for Augie' might be a plot device for bringing a witness of Augie's past later on when we have to reveal his real self and intentions. who knows.
again, awesome funny cap, flores.

I have known Josefa's being nicknamed Pepa so it would not be surprising you can nickname Josefina as Pepa too.
