Cuando Me Enamoro #49 Tuesday 6/28/11 Need Help!

So my daughter has a karate tournament tonight and then I have Dr.Appt tomorrow so if anybody is willing to post a quick re-cap that would be great or you guys can discuss, this is going to be a good one.

I just got home kind of late from a pot-luck but I'll give it a shot. Please correct me if I've gotten anything wrong or left anything important out.

So let's see...we left Renata who had some kind of broken heart episode and she gets in a horrible crash, bleeding from nose and mouth.

Roberta tells Matias that it's all Fina's fault that Matias is being pressured to marry her. Later she and Sele plot to take pics of Constanza going out with Chema in order to screw up her marriage. Later still she and Fina gloat about being the Senoras Monterrubio.

Matias goes to Coni for advice and she tells him he should look out for himself.

Jero solicits Carlos to help him look for Renata.

Augi wonders where Renata is and why she hasn't come to him for help.

Meanwhile, Honorio in his sombrero-wear and Blaaaaanca in her peek-a-boo wear go to a cafe for a meal. She takes a call from her dad and I think says "dad don't call me on my cellular, I'll see ya later."

In the midst of all these scenes we keep cutting back to Renata who is lying on the ground suffering from the effects of her crash.

Kari tells Lazaro she might as well move far away because everyone will believe the doctor over her. She doesn't want to have the stigma of being a crazy divorcee. I think that's what she said, the fountain in the background was very loud.

Matias calls a lawyer into his office to draw up a pre-nup. Is this the guy who is Fina's lackey?

Carlos calls the La Bonita staff together to form a search party for Renata. Mati is a pain in the patoot and refuses to help. Carlos looks at her in disgust and Manuela scolds her. Jero checks the airport to see if a Renata Monterrubio left from there but there is no record of a Renata Monterrubio leaving. (Wouldn't she have used her new married name? I guess not as she probably wouldn't have new ID yet.)

More scenes of Renata writhing on the ground.

Matias tells Gonzo he's come to a decision regarding Roberta but he wants to tell the whole family together.

Fina wants Roberta to call Renata right away to gloat about her upcoming marriage to Matias. She calls, gets voice mail and hangs up.

Blanca secretly pays a waiter to help her with some sort of scheme. He's nervous but he takes her money and agrees to do something at 9:00 that night.

The sucker Honorio is talking to Gonzo via laptop and telling him what a great employee Blanca's turned out to be when there is a knock at his door. Guess who? It's Blanca confirming they have a restaurant reservation for 9:00. Ruh roh.

Meanwhile Coni worries about looking too much like a mom in front of Chema's pals and decides that jeans are the way to go.

Lazaro and Kari search the town high and low for Renata but there is no sign of her. Carlos uses the stolen ATV to search the beaches. Alfonsina and the others search the vineyards.

It's getting late and Jero and company reconvene. They are all getting worried now except Matilde who makes a great show of yawning.

Matias meets with Gonzo, Fina and Berta to tell them he plans to marry Berta. However, since he doesn't love Berta it's for the baby; then something about as per the pre-nup the marriage can be legally dissolved. Caras impactadas de Fina and Berta, hee hee.

More later unless someone else beats me to it...

Part Two:

Fina has a complete hissy fit about the terms of Matias' pre-nup (theirs will be a civil marriage only, not in a church I guess). He says it's just a contract, if things don't work out then the marriage can be easily dissolved. Gonzo backs up his son who asks Berta is she agrees to the terms. She says she will and Matias plops the contract down in front of her and excuses himself. Fina is steaming and tries to rip Gonzo a new one but he tells her not to force things.

Tony tells Regina he'll send a car for her tomorrow. In other words she is stuck going to his darn bullfight.

Honorio and Blanca meet and order drinks from the shady waiter.

Roberta finds Matias sulking in his room. She thanks him for agreeing to marry her and agrees to a simple party. But she wants Renata to be her witness. Matias says fine but he doesn't want Jeronimo to be there.

Oh noes! The shady waiter puts some date rape drops in Honorio's drink! Blanca pretends to make a phone call but stands back like the creepy stalker she is smugly watching Honorio drug himself.

Augie and Ezequiel show up at La Bonita and convince Jero to let them help lok for Roberta. Everybody spends all night searching the docks and bars around town. In the morning Jero rides his horse amongst the vineyards frantically searching. Stupid man, I hope you feel REALLY bad!

It's Augie and Ezequiel who happen to see Renata's SUV crashed off the side of the road. Augie feels for a pulse while Ez rigs up a pallet and line for rescuing her.

Meanwhile team Jero fret that nobody has located Nata. Jero tells Carlos that if something has happened to her he'll never forgive himself. Good!! Let the self-blame begin. Carlos restrains himself from saying "I told you so" but he does say that maybe this is some sort of sign.

Augie drags Renata from the wreck and gives her mouth-to-mouth. His neck-wrenching and first-aid techniques leave something to be desired. Augi decides the hospital in Guadalupe is too far away so they should take Nata to his place and call Doctor Drinksalot.

Ah jeez, friggin' Blaaanca Ocaaampo in her terry robe smugly brushes her thick wig while poor Honorio wakes from his drugged slumber. When he tries to figure out where he is and what happened she tells him "Don't offend me. We're both adults and as of last night we're lovers. I don't have a problem with you being a married man and I won't ask anything of you." Oh SURE you won't! Honorio is totally bummed.

Speaking of bums, Coni's admiring hers which are packed into a pair of shapely jeans. She's not sure if she should go with Chema so she calls Honorio for advice. Naturally she gets his voice mail.

Yep, the lawyer who helped Matias is Fina's puppet. His name is Soto by the way. He shows Fina the contract but tells her it's one thing to unmask her husband's girlfriend but he can't do anything illegal. I'm not sure what she's asked him to do but he says if Matias finds out he will be fired and maybe go to jail. Fina sweetly tells him he's already too involved and really needs to do what she asks.

Roberta and Sele cheerfully leave for their home-wrecking field trip.

I'm happy to report that Jero is in complete anguish and has an epic melt-down in his room. "I love you Renata, more than any other woman!"

Oops, I forgot to say I hope your daughter kicked butt tonight Jules!

Thank you Sylvia: quick and to the nitty-gritty! It's too early for whine but jeezo-peet here we go with the ole' drug the dude and tell him we did the deed. . .too bad. Hon started out so smart, he and Con were on to Fina and I thought they would be a united front and voices of reason. Blaaaanca has acted like a stalking slut from day one, what the hell impressed him?!

The other thing that is just too unreal is that Renata who seemed to have had a heart attack, rolled down a ravine, is half thrown out of the vehicle, lay all afternoon, all night and half the next morning seizing and gurgling blood gets taken to Auggie's house instead of a hospital? WTF?! Robbie trips over a rock in the back yard and falls on a plush lawn and she gets an over nighter in the hospital closely monitored?! (It's only a novela, only a novela). So inappropriate not taking her to the hospital or calling a frickin' ambulance Auggie!

And Sylvia, second hissy fit of the episode was Jerko. I'm sorry, I was not feeling his anguish and I almost laughed it was so poorly done! Mati has become contemptable, Fina, Berta and Selene always are. . .jeez. Laz and Cari give the only warm fuzzies in this piece! Thanks again Sylvia!

Oh, that's me, Lia, above!

Like Lila, this episode has me frothing at the mouth. Another date-rape of a man. Jeez. And why, since Renata clearly took the car, were they looking around the grape fields etc? Why wasn't everyone on the highways leading from the beach?

Also, I was writhing as Augie yanked her out of the car any ol' way (don't they have paramedics in Mexico?) and then took her back to his house to be attended by alcoholic doc. And Augie KNOWS he's impaired.

Plus...yeah, Lila...Jeronimo's hysterics on the rug. Not twanging my heart strings at all.

On the plus side...SYLVIA! Bless you for jumping in and doing a late night recap. Loved your "sombrero wear" and "peek-a-boo wear". Too right. Had that sick feeling from the moment that broad walked in the office....and when she bribed the waiter...ay yi yi. Is she maybe Fina's long-lost cousin? Definite family resemblance in scheming. Anvils are beginning to fall. Ugh.

Sylvia- Thank you so much for stepping in to take on this recap for us. You got it all.

I'm hoping that Hon will continue to question what happened. I don't see him rolling over so easily into Blanca's trap. He certainly won't say, "Oh well, I guess we are lovers now. Let's do it again!" He just looked really out of it from the effects of the drugs. My question after that whole scheme was who is Blanca's father and what part does he play in her whole scheme and why. Perhaps it's her father who is Hon's enemy and he sent his daughter there as an instrument of his vengeance? Seemed to me the first plan was to seduce Hon the old fashioned way, but as that was clearly not working, drugging him and making him think he cheated was the next best way. Poor Hon.

Con was looking really good in those jeans. And she gave great advice to Matias. I'm glad he told her the whole truth about who the (supposed) baby-daddy is and why he's marrying Berta. Too bad the company lawyer is in Fina's pocket.

The aversion to hospitals, particularly in small towns in tns, never ceases to amaze me. But I have been in many countries where it is wise to avoid hospitals, where you're more likely to be sickened by bad hygiene practices, than saved. So, who knows. But I just can't see how Augi thinks having Doc Drunkard look after her is any better. Oh well. Nata being at his house will lead to some interesting situations for sure. Already in the previews it shows Nata weakly saying she doesn't want to see Jero and Augi being able to throw him out of his house. Serves Jero right-- anguished writhing or no.

Augustin wants nothing more than to break Renata. He is a misogynist pig and the idea of subjugating a strong woman is what floats his boat.

As for hospitals, my college buddy just suffered the loss of a long-time friend who may have died of a staph infection contracted in a hospital. So I understand this.

Splendid recap, thank you very much.

Renata is half out of the car for most of this Capitulo and I remark to my wife that it will be tomorrow before they find her only to hear my wife say FRIDAY! Supposed they were on an Easter egg hunt, the way they were searching.

The mouth to mouth was just stupid unless this is a sign that the action will be moving to Augie and Renata with Jero flitting around for 50 Capitulos. And, of course, just drag somebody out of car, flop them on a board and haul them up a hill.

And, then it looked in the proximo's like Augie was going to keep Renata like a prize or something without telling Jero.

Fina and Roberta, what a pair of ____.

The writers some to have their flights of fantasy but this is getting to be a really good, different, and unpredictable Novela.

A in Baraboo

In Peace Corps we are each given a book called "Where There is No Doctor", since most of us are in remote locations with no medical care. The book deatails various tropical illnesses, what you can do to treat them until you get to a doctor, and how to transport someone who is gravely hurt or ill to the closest medical help. The technique that Augi and Zeke used with the board and ropes is exactly the way it's done in remote locations. It looked just like some of the photos in that book.

Great job Sylvia for filling in and thank you.

I wasn't feeling Jero's anguish either and it does serve him right for treating Renata like that.

I hope Hon does the right thing and just be honest with Con and tell her what happened it's going to cause problems in his marriage especially after her finding out he's Adriana's father. These two are the logical ones in this novela what with this and the plot to set up Con as having a affair with Chema it will be distracting to both of them and keep them from helping out exposing Fina and Roberta with their evil antics.

I think eventually that Con will either tell Hon or Gonzo that Matias is not Roberta's child father it's Jero.

Loved the two witches being thrown off by the prenup Fina didn't think of that.Of course it was the same lawyer she has spying on Gonzo whatever she is doing to bribe him i think it was to change the prenup will come back to haunt him.

I'm tired of Matilde and her snippy act already she reminds too much of Gardenia from MEPS. I know someone bought this up already and the actress who played that role is now playing Alfosina in this one. I like to see the brat fired and let's see then if she has anything smart to say.

Well jerko it serves you right because of your revenge plot a very injured Renata tells Auggie she doesn't want to see you. Don't blame her one bit i fear for health because of not only her injuries but her heart like others have mention it did look like she was having some type of seizure possible due from the stress Jerko was causing with his attitude and rejection.

Thanks Sylvia... very nicely done.

"Oh noes! The shady waiter puts some date rape drops in Honorio's drink!"

Looks like waiters may have now joined the ranks of Drs. judges, and lawyers as folks not to trust in Mexico. It's safest to order beer, wine, and Tequila brought to the table in unopened bottles.

My advice to Honorio:

Own up to it, tell her that she really wasn't very good, thanks for the effort... but... next!

If Jerry's behavior up till now hadn't been enough, his hysterical tantrum last night sealed the deal for me. Augie may be a misogynist pig but to me he sure seems like a better bet than this unstable lunatic.

Carlos

My comments seem to have upset the Peace Corp.

Often had the feeling I don't belong here, so will move along and keep my comments to myself.

A in Baraboo

Sylvia, Thank you thank you thank you!!! My daughter took first place and had a blast!! Your re-cap was fantastic! I haven't watched yet but, I can't wait. I am wondering if when the dust settles, will Jero make a big deal out of Auggie finding Renanta! I also can't see him reforming over night, I think he might be better for a little while, but eventually he will become Jerko again. That is if Dr.Drunk doesn't kill Renata trying to save her.

Carlos, I am so with you on this! What are they thinking giving us such an odious, vengeful, spiteful, narcissistic, immature, emotionally if not physically impotent excuse for a galan! If this is a trend in novelas, STOP NOW!! Such brow-beating of the leading lady as well, now Jerkoff and Auggie Doggie are going to have a pithing contest while poor Renata lies probably bleeding internally awaiting an equally spinless, besotted excuse for a medico to "attend" to her. Ay ¡Dios me libre!

Lila

Jules, congratulations to your kid! First place, that's amazing. You must be very proud.

I actually nodded off during Jero's anguish attack at the end. Even a rewind didn't improve it. It was pretty funny.

It's great that this telenovela has taken some surprising and unexpected turns. Blanca drugging Honorio was a big surprise. Vivi, I think you might be on to something what with the way she keeps talking to her dad. Didn't she suggest in an earlier episode that he is no longer alive? Another surprise was Matias getting advice from Constanza. I didn't hear him actually tell about Jero being the dad so thanks for that. Also a surprise was Coni calling Honorio for advice. Too bad he was in bed with Blanca and didn't pick up, LOL!

Vivi, thanks for your input from your Peace Corps days. I agree that the method of transporting the injured Renata was appropriate given what they had (and Ez sure acted quickly, didn't he?), it was the yanking on her neck that made me cringe. (Plus, they should have stabilized her neck with jackets or shirts or whatever but now I'm picking nits.) Also, what was with the mouth-to-mouth since she had been breathing and moaning all night? That was just silly. Somehow I doubt the doctor will be able to do a full set of tests on her and I fear her heart condition will continue to go undiagnosed. Oh well.

I'm pretty sure Augustin will keep an eagle eye over the doc and make sure he doesn't drink a drop while caring for Renata. We'll see though.

UA, you might be right in your assessment of Augie just wanting to break Renata, however if I were she at the moment I would still prefer to hang out at his hacienda instead of with my bipolar husband whose stupid whiny maid keeps insulting me. Plug Augie has better wine.

I enjoyed the previews of Jero and Augi doing some major chest thumping.

Thanks Sylvia, a great summing up of last nights events.

As Teams Augie and Jero are combing the BC countryside and vineyards, WHY does our Galloping Galan Jero, DRIVE 50 miles NORTH to the TJ Airport looking for her? QTH? As was mentioned in an earlier post, why didn’t he retrace his steps back to the playa, which obviously isn’t far from La Bonita, as both he and Carlos traveled there and back on the ATV’s, then perhaps HE would have (maybe) found her first. I dunno, I’m just sayin’.

My husband is Mexican and is living with his folks again temporarily in Durango. His Dad took ill about 18 months ago, and he being the oldest went back to help his mom out with him and the bills. Mi Suegro is much much better thank God. Miguel decided to take an auto mechanic certification course, as I decided after much research and thought, that I wanted to become an Expatriate and move to Mexico. I’ll fill y’all in on the process in coming posts.

Anyway, he finishes his program next week and will be heading to, are you ready, BAJA CALIFORNIA in August. This is why I researched the La Lomita winery and posted it last week.---Where I’m going with is to say that my mother in law watched this novela as it aired there prior to its airing here. Miguel and I talk once or twice a week and every time I try to get out of him snippets of spoilers. He’d watch it with his mom when he didn’t have a class. LOL Unfortunately he refuses to give me any spoilers as well as refuses to let his mom tell me anything. Grrrrr

I remember seeing Ezekiel taking off his jacket as he came down with the board and rope for Renata when he got down there.

Blusa, OK maybe Ezequiel was going to stabilize Renata's neck. I can't remember now, I think was nodding off. I don't know why I obsess about stupid stuff like realism anyway.

Valeena, how exciting for you. Please keep us posted as to your plans. I laughed when you said your hub refuses to divulge spoilers.

Gracias, Sylvia, nice and concise w/ 100% coverage. Cool.

Did we witness the extent of Soler's ability to act at the end of last night's show?

Going back to the 70's and the old Bob Newhart show where he played a shrink in Chicago... Remember the self-absorbed Mr. Carlton. Now think Antonio. Does anyone else see a resemblance?

Are Lazaro and Carlos the only two guys in Baja not stricken w/ chronic narcissism?

Who in this country would give mouth-to-mouth where blood's present in the Age of AIDS?

Cringed at the sight of Fina patting the abogado's hand like that might turn him on.

Will those two beach bubbas ever get back their ATV?

A in Baraboo- The Peace Corps is not upset at all. LOL! In fact, we used to joke that the surest way to scare yourself was to read Where There is no Doctor. It made you pray to God that when something went wrong, you were lucky enough to be near a doctor. The PC nurse basically said that the instructions in the book weren't ideal. But they were for situations that weren't ideal either.

Vivi, I've heard of the book but I've never read it. Every year I go to a Safety at Sea seminar and one of the modules is how to treat medical emergencies on the high seas (far from land). The doctor who gives the seminar loves to include one or two rather graphic pictures of real emergencies that happened while he was a ship's doctor. Usually at least one person keels over in the audience. Our bible is a book called "Marine Medicine".

Antonio = Mr. Carlton...OMG!!!

"Did we witness the extent of Soler's ability to act at the end of last night's show?" Acting is an extremely kind term.

I was wondering about that ATV too. When will those poor guys get their vehicle back? Didn't they see Carlos riding around the beach?

Okay, since we're kvecthing, I hated the flaccid attempts at resusscitation also. They don't recommend mouth to mouth EVER now. All you do are chest compressions. Pretty rapidly. And I can tell you, you tire very quickly doing them. If you ever need to do this, hope that someone else is around, not just to call 911 but to spell you when you get tired.

With all the tedious PSA's they mount, showing an accurate version of chest compressions would be a lot better than this couple of pecks on the lips business. Holey Moley.

I, too, was not impressed with Jero's emotional performance. Too little too late.

For a brief moment, Augie was my hero, when he spotted the wreckage from the highway, even though it was behind the trees and down the embankment, and they were driving pretty fast. I also thought he said she wasn't breathing and he couldn't get a pulse which would explain the mouth to mouth. I may have misinterpreted though.

I just read that Guillermo Capetillo who plays Antonio, is actually a real matador and comes from a whole family of famous bullfighters. Maybe that's why they worked this angle into the story, and he really won't get hurt.

Mati is starting to get on my nerves. She is old enough to know better. Even if she doesn't like the patrona, she can still show respect. The yawning was uncalled for.

Fina and the lawyer...Yuk. They deserve each other.

When I was watching these guys pulling Renata out of the wreck and talking about not taking her to the hospital I thought about Duelo de Pasiones when Alvaro shot Emiliano. Rather than bringing him to the nearest hospital they brought him home and sent for the doctor. This really incensed me because of the location of the wound.

Renata will be Augustin's prisoner for the next dozen episodes. :/

Mike asked: "Did we witness the extent of Soler's ability to act at the end of last night's show?"

Unfortunately, I think yes. My thoughts were similar. Pretty underwhelmed with the performance. Also, I wish he wouldn't mumble so much - that rapid mumble monotone is very difficult to understand.. I think the speech style is because he is Argentinian.

Audrey

Audrey, yes, and in fact the most comprehensible enunciation I heard last night was the young lady ticket agent at the aeropuerto. Bless her heart and I hope that cameo launches her career!

I just hate the new plot line of Blanca setting Honorio up like that. What is her motive, other than she is just loca and Honorio some random victim?

Audrey

Speaking of enunciation, ever notice that most Mexicans really open their mouth when they speak? And in many areas they don't speak that fast, especially Mexico City where many of the speakers speak quite slowly which is very nice.

I notice that Soler barely opens his mouth when he speaks.

Audrey

Thanks Sylvia for the great recap.

“And why, since Renata clearly took the car, were they looking around the grape fields etc? Why wasn't everyone on the highways leading from the beach?”—Thank you, JudyB!!!

And the date rape thing. I’d like for once the guy to say, I don’t remember anything and I’m not taking your word for what happened.

When Augi found Ren, I couldn’t believe it, surely they’re not going to try and move her!!!! But, of course, they did. And mouth to bloody mouth. Ugh!! I think JudyB says it best: “Also, I was writhing as Augie yanked her out of the car any ol' way (don't they have paramedics in Mexico?) and then took her back to his house to be attended by alcoholic doc. And Augie KNOWS he's impaired.” Though later comments explain how it might be OK. I hated that it was Augi who found her and kept wondering why no one thought to look for her on the highway before then. These people are beyond stupid.

Good for Mat. I was afraid he’d have the standard, if we divorce Rob gets nothing, if I die, she gets everything clause.

I was in awe of Jero’s breakdown. It truly was embarrassing awful.

Robey

Terrific job Sylvia -- jumping in & saving the day on short notice. Glad to hear that the meet went so well Jules.
And Valeena --how exciting is your plan to move to Baja.

I couldn't believe that Auggie would send for Alvaro of all people. He doesn't even know that the doc just spent all day drinking -- but how could he trust him after what happened with Rafael?

Blanca and the drugged drink -- how trite! At least Roberta just took advantage of a situation & Matias knew what he was doing even if his judgement was horrific. I can't believe how fast the Hon/Con idyllic marriage is spinning out of control. --But she sure looked hot in those jeans. Her phone call to Honorio was so upfront & honest. I thought it was sweet.

The resemblance between Antonio & Mr. Carlton is right on -- looks & self absorption both.

I too kept trying to figure out why no one was looking for the car and searching along the road-- all that frantic running through the fields & into the cantinas was pretty silly.

Sorry, don't know how to make it a link.

Robey

Fascinating link Robey. Thanks!

Thanks for the quick catch-up, Sylvia!

Yikes, score one for Blanca. Her motivations are so vague - I've got my fingers crossed that they'll give us a reason for her to be so keen on jumping Honorio's bones. Poor guy was clueless to her advances. Very annoying that they used such a cliche but I like these characters so much that I'll give it a pass.

Add waiters to the list of professions that are easily coerced into villainy. Did Honorio suspect he was drugged? At any rate, I hope he fesses up to Coni. Keeping it a secret will only make matters worse.

Hooray that someone found Nata! Boo, hiss that Augie is going to use it to his advantage. He considers Renata property just as much as Jero's Jerko side does. Yuck.

I had to laugh at Jero's outburst. It was way too over-the-top and not convincing at all. Ya gotta do better than that to make me feel bad for Jerko.

Amy

Boo hoo, Jerko. You just keep on suffering. Borrow the flog from Mi Pecado and have at that for awhile. It still won't be enough. Now, if you can somehow get Renata out of Dr. Death's orbit and to a good hospital, without making her actually suffer your presence, that would be a good first step toward redemption.

I guess Augie can add "pretend an unconscious woman needs mouth-to-mouth breathing and steal a kiss" to the list of things (which don't include rape) he will do.

Doesn't Matias suspect that Roberta's baby isn't Jeronimo's, either? I thought he realized she must have been pregnant before Jero's appearance.

Carlos, I like your solution for Honorio to deal with Blaaaahnca. Then he should fire her.

Juan Soler...such a mumbler. William Levy also. Both were plucked from the ranks of male models to star in telenovelas. Seems like the people who've come up through the Televisa training ranks enunciate a lot better. Doña Juana in Alborada (the actresses' name escapes me right now)...Lord, she enunciates so clearly you practically don't need the sound. Just read her lips.

Thanks for that link, Robey, that gives some insight into the kinds of story lines I've been seeing lately. Yah, younger audiences may not go for the same kind of novelas their moms and grandmoms did but a galan who is as noble, strong, passionate and fiercely in love with the leading lady as he is hawt will NEVER go out of style. The leads can be human, sure, but making them psychotic, hypocritical, stupid and narcissistic ain't fun. In the plot lines I can also feel some artificial insertion of what I'm sure they feel is intrigue but seems forced and silly. I hope they don't throw out many of the best elements of the old novelas in an attempt to be modern and relevant.

Lila

Thanks Sylvia for filling in; In defense of Juan Soler; I think what made his scene so bad was that it was hard for the viewer to connect emotionally with his struggle. Such an out pour of emotion hardly seems genuine especially after the way he treated Renata. Totally ticked off about the Blanca/Honorio thing. Adriana would have been a much better way to cause conflict in their marriage.

Tasha FL

I also watch (or rather scan) Days of Our Lives--though I'm getting pretty bored with it. I love the TNs, for the most part. The thing I like best about TNs besides "discovering" new actors to follow, is that they END. I love knowing that I'm not going to see a couple get together after months/years, be happy for two seconds, break up for months/years, get back together for two seconds, break up, etc. 'til the end of time.

Robey

Thanks everyone who participated in the recap. I am doubly screaming WTF with this "take Renata to Auggie's house" crap. They are not that far from Ensenada which is a major town in Baja California. If they let Alvaro, who got his medical degree at Jim Beam University, anywhere near her, I will truly have a cow.

Since Blanca has been checking in with "daddy" via her cellular I suspect Vivi might be correct when she surmised there is perhaps a plot afoot to discredit Honorio somehow. Time will tell.

Sylvia, thanks for stepping in. Though I'm coming late to the party (1 hour to CME), I had to agree with the rest of you about Auggie taking Renata to his house--QTH? It's so out there it has to be a plot device to keep the Jerko and Nata apart. Jero DOES have a right as the husband to make medical decisions for his wife, doesn't he? How can Auggie think he can just keep Jero out of her room just on her sayso.

The previews always give more than they deliver, so we will have to wait and see.

Meanwhile, I also am sooo tired of the rufie in the drink method of seduction/blackmail. And the readily available little drops are everywhere. Who else have we seen recently it happened to--STuD, Eva Luna, MEPS (to Aurora, but unfortunately, it really happened to her). You can tell my list is really short (short on telenovelas), but please, can't the writers think of a different way to trap a guy into blackmailable situation?

And how could Blanca think she would find a willing accomplice right there at her beck and call for a few pesos?
My word verification is: imperf--what this tn is getting to be.
NOK

I forgot to say, I learned a new phrase in last night's episode. Arely said that Nata and Jero had an "amor apache", and wasn't super concerned that Nata had taken off after a fight. I looked up the phrase and it baiscally means love/hate relationship.

OOoo Vivi - thanks for that little vocab tidbit!

Audrey

Ditto for "amor apache" Vivi. Thanks. I guess it comes from those French apache dances where they throwing each other all over the place.

Cool, I heard Arely say it but was too lazy to look it up. Amor apache, that's worth remembering.
