Jero: Mr. Inappropriate, Idiotic,and Immature for hiding inside his own house and refusing to talk to Regina upfront about Fina's accusations. Arrrrggggghhhh!

Aaaaarrrrrggggghhhhh is right! After all that has happened with Renata's crazy family and he just believes Fina? It takes quite a leap of faith on our part. In Jero's defense, this whole thing about Renata being the betrayer is his deepest concern so Fina is definitely hitting him in his Achilles heel. The heel.

Another aaarrrggghhh is Selene the Stalker. Coni and Chema seemed very bothered by her. Trust your instincts people! Jacqui Garcia (Selene), who normally has the sweetest face, really creeped me out last night with her bland, malevolent gaze when she was watching Chema and Coni.

Jules, no worries amiga. I hope you had fun on your vacation.
 

Yep - Jero swallowed it all, hook line and sinker! And it's not as if he hasn't noticed someone suspicious behavior from Fina before. But I guess her story jibes too closely with what Jero already came to suspect, so he was a total sucker for it.

It's amazing how descarada (shameless) Fina is with her lies. A requirement for any major villain. But really - talk about leap of faith!

And Jero's revenge will be to propose marriage anyway? That's pretty wild. I guess with the intent to drop Renata at the last minute for maximum pain.

According to wikipedia, this novela has 182 episodes!!!!! That implies a very long painful haul ahead. I don't know if I'll be able to keep up over the summer while I am traveling, but the wiki schedule shows the US ending to be Dec 29, 2011 so I'll still get to watch for 3 months before the finale - wow!

Thanks, Audrey. . .you know I love Spanish and I really have grown since I started watching novelas but do they have to torture us so? These villians anymore go right up to the last episode with their dastardly deeds! Renata has been shat upon so much and now Jero is poised to drop another load on her. I don't care for people smacking each other around in real life, but on these shows when an innocent has to take so much grief. . .kidnapped, raised by a hateful, psychotic shrew, lied on and tag-teamed with an envious, spiteful "sister", it was cathartic for her to finally get a lick against the evil she faces!

Yeah, it's gonna be a long haul. . .darn me, I get addicted to these things!

Gah! How has Jero been so successful as a businessman if he doesn't consider the sources of the information he's getting? What the heck kind of mother would say such things about her own daughter? Even if it were true that Renata and Rafael had dated and she broke it off, wouldn't a more normal mom frame it in terms like "she just wasn't into him as much as he liked her; it didn't work out" and not "my daughter is an evil slut!"?

I did greatly enjoy the romantic dinner with the awesome live music first, though. Very pretty. Too bad Renata didn't wear the R necklace so Jero could notice that she still has hers.

And Sylvia you're right,Creepy. OMG, I was kidding the other day when I called Selene "stalker in the making", but she was actually stalking the poor guy last night. When she bopped into the kitchen, I about spilled my coffe into my work laptop ( never mix work at home, coffee and TN's - dangerous). Connie I think defintely picked up something wasn't kosher there.

I've been putting some thought into that "family shot" they have at the end of the opening credits -I do like that Regina stands behind Gonzo, we sort of figured that would happen, but I just noticed (brain dead I can be some time) that Antonio and Fina are put together. That doesn't bode well ( and just adds fuel to my fire of dislike for Antonio) Last night - it was like "Dude, can you SMILE! Just once." Just me I know, but that bothers me, such a Debbie-Downer.

This is going to get good and painful to watch now. With that many episodes, it'll be awhile before the light bulb goes on over Jero's head and he realizes he was duped. Let the agony begin.
 

Daisy! You know I'm so pissed at Jero, I just realized in my first post I said Jero was Mr.I for not talking up fron with Regina. . .obviously I mean Renata! Thanks whoever said how many episodes are left: it's when they really start tightening the screws that we start wondering that! Stay cool, everybody, 95 where I am! (Sorry if this posts twice, blogger's acting weird)

Wow what contrasts in this episode from poetic romance to prosaic deceit and pain. I too wish this TN would be much shorter. I won't even be in the country by the end of December but we can talk about who wants to translate later if anyone has any desires this way.

Daisynjay, you did nail it about Selene's stalker talent. I thought of you immedicately when I saw what she was going to do. Poor Chema, this will only drive him towards the married lady Constanza which I was hoping he could be a really good guy to the end. His morals and ideals will be compromised at the very least. And I was silly enough to hope Selene would be a force for good to influence Roberta. Not likely.

Mr. Inappropriate is the cowardly Jero standing on the other side of the door when loving Renata tries to get in to see him. I think Sylvia is totally spot on that Fina found his deepest fears and is playng them like a fiddle. How can so many people be so dumb especially since Fina is not at all appealing even when she is trying to be seductive or inviting.
 

I agree, Jero gets the double Mr I award (does he get trash thrown at his face by the whammy?) for not telling Nata the secret and expecting her to confess (what would she confess to if she doesn't know what she is supposed to confess to because she did NOT do it??) and also for listening and believing Fina after he has seen first hand how Fina treats Nata (even slapping and insulting her in his face)... Jero the anti-hero. At least I get to recap the proposal tonight...

That's true, Jero has seen first hand how nastily Fina treats Renata, and yet he believes her when she claims she is acting in Renata's best interest?

That dinner scene was wild. Among other things I couldn't get over the fireplace - was is a fireplace? How interesting though - the love scenes between Jero and Renata seem very chaste. In many TNs a dinner like that would lead right to the bedroom.

Yeah, I knew Jero's turn had to be coming - but still. And I still don't get how Fina and Roberta have all this money to pay off their bad guys or how they can pull off so many outrageous lies. They both have obvious weaselly personalities.

I'm with you all. WTH? Up to know Jero has been quite able to engage Nata in dialog--remember the first time Fina came to see him? He told Nata her mother didn't want him to tell her that she came to see him (unless she is so clever by far that she planned it that way--that he would tell her).

Now he just hang-dogs behind the door.

Yep, he gets my vote for Mr. I--especially after that beautiful romantic dinner and dancing he provided for the love of his life.

It's not over til December? Heaven help us if they get all Triumfo del Amor on us.

yup, we are in for a LONG suffering time... hopefully Nata will have Carlos and Mati (if she does not get all blubbery about 'hermoso Jero' again) and Lazaro to talk to... cause I can see Jero will turn to his 'dark side' toward Nata starting right after the proposal. This is a welcome change from the 98 version. There she only had the padre and the Kari counterpart on her side.
 

Oh Jero, Jero ,Jero. I love you but you are indeed Mr. Inappropriate for today. It was a good acting job though. The pain on his face as he leaned against the inside of the door was touching -- even if the leaning itself was wa-a-ay inappropriate.
 

at some point someone had posted in the La Mentira USA forum a very interesting scene of Demtrio (Jero here) sitting to talk with Juan del Diablo (CS) about what they did wrong in their corresponding relationships... I bet after all is said and done in Dec, we can post a similar scene between Jero and Demetrio or any other dumb inappropriate leading man character we want.
I will see if I have time to find that post and if I do I will post it if it is not spoiling anything.
 

Okay well as you have all noticed I was not able to post a re-cap today. We are hosting a graduation party for my niece and I have 15 teenagers at my house. Thanks for your understanding I just couldn't get to it today!!
 

No worries Jules. I think we are all tormented enough by this plot without you having to relive the grief and give it back to us. Enjoy the 15 teenagers; I'm sure they will be the perfect distraction for you.
