Alborada, 7/15/2011. Cap. 33
On YouTube, haguilar78's clips for Cap 33 start at this link.
Today's picture is OUTSTANDING! Thank you, Carlos!
Labels: Alborada
On one of the Bloopers, they have a scene where Victoria is looking out the door and La Poderosa is standing right behind her with a candle. Unknowingly, she gets the candle too close to her hair and starts it on fire. Luckily, it must have been a wig because the whole thing did not go up into flames.
Regarding Martín's burial, did anyone else think it strange that Aztec dancers in full regalia would be part of a Catholic ritual? Of course, many natives converted to Christianity. But I would think that the church of the time would closely associate the native ceremonial dress (feather headdresses, etc.) with pagan rituals.
Cristo Rey

It is a statue & a church, and they had Indians performing, dressed very similar. Very interesting.
Great shot Carlos.
I'm starting to think, which scene will Carlos use for todays episode?
I was wrong again, I thought it was going to be the funeral procession or the Indians.
I shed tears again, not so much for Martín but for Carmela & Felipe.
Carmela didn't want Marcos to leave.
Another superb screen shot. Thank you Carlos, you have a good eye.
Linda K, I just watched the bloopers and had to laugh at the wig-burning part. I seem to recall that we noticed this in the original airing of Alborada and commented that the actresses were very cool about it. Maybe because, as the blooper showed, they didn't realize Victoria's wig was on fire.
Francisco is such an ass, if he spent half the time trying to work as he does annoying and insulting people he would likely be in a better situation and not dependent on others.
I love how Hipolita always goes back to "we could work and earn our own money". She's willing to do what it takes, what a great work ethic.
Variopinta, that is an interesting link. Thank you. Your link reminded me when I was in Guanajuato a couple of years ago my hostess pointed out that most of the catholic churches included indigenous symbology in the decor. This is the only place in Mexico I have visited for a significant period of time so I can't compare it to anywhere else in the country.
Poor Carmela, clinging to Marcos like that.
Paula, thank you for posting this, the shot and the links.
I'm really mad that Martin died. Why couldn't he have survived, left Mexico to forget Hipolita and found a nice señorita in Spain? It's not fair! And his poor parents with no other children...really heartbreaking.
Esperanza with her mottled chest. Is that from sun exposure? She is so desperate and pathetic - I feel sorry for her.
Can't wait to see how Luis gets out of the doghouse with Hipo for being the mystery man in Panama.
* Martin, of course.
* Luis is an only because his partents died at his baptism party.
* Diego is an only because his father died before he was born.
* Hipo is the only child of Ascuncion and and Agustin because he ditched her.
* Catarina is the only child of Asuncion and Francisco.
* Andres is the only child of Francisco and whoever.
* Rafael is the only child (thus far, anyway) of both Luis and Hipo, for all sorts of convoluted reasons.
* Marina's only "family" is her godmother, so she's probably an only.
I'm more than happy to share this experience with anyone else who wants to give it a shot. I feel a little guilty about appearing to have the monopoly on the photos. I'm not complaining, I just don't want to be or appear selfish.
I have to admit my amusement in the way the sins of our characters are viewed. Here in Alborada, Luis essentially committed a sexual assault and we all hope that he is ultimately forgiven and even united with his victim while in CME we were all utterly (and rightly) disgusted by one of the (likely) bad guys stealing a kiss from our sleeping heroine and I'm not seeing an eagerness to forgive over there.

In any other novela or if it wasn't FC, we would consider him a slimeball.
None of this was too unusual for the time. Well maybe the midnight boinking.
Now he will have to protect Esperanza from the inquisition & probably Hipolita too. Men could cheat, but it was a no,no for wives.
We will give our hero lots of slack though, it's FC after all .
Hey, it's all in the context! Of course it's deplorable. But as Ada pointed out, Hipo doesn't have a lot of options. Hipo can try to find work to support herself and Rafael, she (maybe) can return to Antonio or she can live with the man she really probably still loves and is the father of her child. Luis needs to do a lot of redemption--but heck yes!--I would have never watched this telenovela if I didn't believe Luis and Hipo would end up together!
And, as Vario said, it's FC after all.
Carlos
and I'm with Vario. FC can do no wrong. I think they got the mystery boinking over with in the first episode so we'd all settle down and get over it. Otherwise, there would be no plot at all. But honestly, I can think of no galán more simpatico than Luís. And I don't think he's ever looked this good in any other role.
As much as I love Hipólyta, her hiccuppy sniffling drives me up the wall. I do love her vivacious and spontaneous smile, but she still seems like a gum-snapping teenybopper to me.
