Cuando Me Enamoro #66 Tuesday 7/19/11 Mi Culpa, Mi Culpa
As you may have all deduced, I did not post a re-cap for today!! I could give you all some great story about being attack by a bear or something, but the plain truth is I completely forgot. I am training for a 10K on Sunday and got up bright and early for a 5 mile walk and then went to lunch!! I am soooooooo sorry ladies and gents. Please feel free to discuss and if anyone would like to throw something up I'm sure everyone would appreciate it! Again I am sorry It shouldn't happen again.

Renata made Jero get out the letter and told him that is not her handwriting, she found the picture and forcefully mentioned that it is Roberta who is prominently featured, he got out the lost R necklace and she showed him that she still has hers, and she showed him the carving on the tree. Jero was conflicted but kept thinking back to when Fina told him Renata is a lying liar who lies and was totally having an affair with Rafael. Jero cannot compute that a mother could scheme against her daughter, so he's still stuck in his same irrational rut.
So Renata packs her bags and has Augustin come pick her up. Jero belatedly and halfheartedly sort of tries to chase after her. Then he apparently locks himself in his office and smashes stuff.
Spare Girl Arely stands on a picturesque cliff above the water, hair swooshing in the breeze, looking like a perfume advert. She's thinking of taking a death dive but Lazaro sees her and talks her out of it. He takes her to the church to stay there and rethink her life, and Karina sees her hug him and kiss him on the cheek and of course gets the wrong idea.
Regina is on her way to the hacienda. Carlos heads out to pick her up since Jero is in a mood.
For some reason Blahnca is still allowed to roam free in the office, so as to leave a wider trail of destruction. She's trying to get Daniel in on her scheme but he has to think about it.
Fina and Renata are awful. Gonzo tells Fina that Honorio and Constanza are splitsies.
Some scenes with Conehead but I FF>>d those.
Matias showed up to comfort Constanza. She asked about the wedding in two days; is he sure he wants to go through with it since he knows he's not the father? He says he was sure because he wanted to save Renata from knowing it was Jero, but now he's not so sure... Coni asks why but of course he changes the subject.

Did anyone catch when Fina was talking to Roberta and she was telling Rob to discount what Ren might say or that it wouldn't matter what Rafa might have said as it would be a dead man's word against Rob's. Later towards the end Rob reacts to hearing Rafa is dead by having a fainting spell and clutching her heart. As far as I can remember Rob hadn't heard so maybe the writers messed up.

Now, you aren't just taking the blame even though you don't remember a thing about the last 18 hours since you sat down in a bar with a recent acquaintance, and then you woke up in a hotel room with said acquaintance claiming you're amantes and stalking you ever since while wearing inadequately fastened clothing, are you? Ruby: I think this is really the first time that Roberta heard that Rafa was dead. Believe it or not, this time, she was for realz.

Oh, I'd forgotten that part. Roberta told Fina that Renata was asking if she'd had a relationship with Rafael, and Fina told her to deny it, because Rafa was the only other person who knew about it and he's dead. You're right, I'm pretty sure she did say that. And Roberta didn't really react. But then when Matias and Gonzo told them Rafa was dead, she reacted like it was the first time she'd heard that.
Were the scenes edited in out of order? Or did I miss something about the way Fina phrased it, and Roberta wouldn't have thought he was dead, just that he'd taken off and probably wouldn't say anything?

The way Augustin reacted to the note Arely left was so funny. Sort of rolled his eyes and said, "Sheesh, what a drama queen." Arely is well rid of him. I hope she finds the wizard and gets some self-esteem.
I think Lazaro wins the award today for Mr. Appropriate. I loved the calm way he talked Arely off the ledge. I'd have been freakeando but he was cool as a cucumber and so caring and sincere. Not to mention effective. Well done, Lazaro. He would make a great counselor or clergyperson. Too bad a guy has to swear off a wife and kids to become a priest in the Catholic church; he'd be well suited to that job but he needs a family.

I thought Roberta knew Rafael was dead but didn't know about the suicide. Wonder if this'll change her mind about mamma. Probably not, or not yet.
And how great is Lazaro!? He was a really good guy in another novela I saw him in a few years ago that I can't remember the name of, but the love of his life had to marry her rapist because she got pregnant. It didn't work out (pay attention Karina). He got the girl in the end that time, and deserved her. He's a good guy, that Lazaro.

Roberta knew that Rafa was dead, but she learned in this episode not only that it was suicide, but that it was suicide because of a woman...
I'm confused. Do both Renata and Roberta have heart defects inherited from their father? Or is it only Roberta who has the problem?

I loved Renata this episode! When she threw those rings in Jero's face I cheered. He was so frustrating this episode. And he has the nerve to yell at Renata's photo that he hates her. I swear, if he brings up one more time that Nata lied to him (a strange man, who had accused her of stealing his wallet, and was hitting on her in a bar) about her name and that she was waiting for her boyfriend, I will throw my shoe at the tv.
Mati was annoying with her glee over the argument.
I was a bit worried as Renata thought to herself that this was the end of the noble, naive Renata as she drove off with Augie. I don't want her to become some bitter, stubborn person, unable to see sense (like Jerko) because of this.
Compare the way the writers handled Laz talking Arely off the ledge after the relationship disappointment, vs the way the writers handled Max talking Nathi off the ledge for the same reason in TDA. It's like night and day. Great direction and great writing in this tn.

Renata's heart defect was detected as a baby. When Fina stole Renata (really Regina Jr.), she just started to say that Roberta had the heart defect so that Roberta could be pampered and favored. She is the only person who knows that Renata has a heart defect. When Roberta was hospitalized some episodes back, it was discovered that she does indeed have a heart defect. Only Fina was surprised by this since she never thought it was true. So yes, both girls have inherited the condition, but no one knows Renata has the defect. She never did go back to get checked after the accident (the cardiologist wasn't there when she went). Both Doc Rapey and Auggie (as well as Fina) are the only ones that know something might not be right with Nata's heart. Yet another puzzle piece Auggie can help with later! Renata's been too busy trying to save her marriage and reputation to give it much thought.

Hi All, sorry for the late comment, I was out most of the day. This was a great episode and I'm hoping to enjoy the new Renata, one who decides to go after those who have discredited her. Like Vivi I hope she doesn't turn into a vengeful witch with no perspective. I just want her to open her eyes and start fighting back. I'm glad she left Jero.
I will enhoy reading this later but want to know what has happened to our site and why is one CME posting now on the side bar and the other in the place it should be in. Is anyone else seeing it this way or has my computer had a partial meltdown??

Hey folks, I think I did something evil with HTML when I posted Marta's recap and it messed up our sidebar formatting. I'm not sure what I did originally, it was just a cut and paste. I did the same thing again but I cut and pasted into a Google word doc first and then into blogger, re-published and the problem seems to have fixed itself. I figured it might be the last post that cause the problem, heh, sorry about that. (Wish I knew what caused it though.)
