Teresa Wed 7/20/11 #101 Johnny's Ham & Cheese Surprise; Our Shark Get's Bitten!

REPRISE
In last night’s reprisal, we begin at the Hospital with Mariano venting to Aurora. He can’t believe that every time he thinks he is free of Teresa, she reappears in his life. Aurora says she can’t believe Mariano is worrying about Teresa. Mariano says it was good that he was face to face with Teresa and didn’t feel anything for her. Aurora asks if he is happy with Aida, and he responds that they are still together, she is very pretty and he’s in it to win it. Aurora responds with a sad expression.

The reprisal continues with the scene at Fernando’s bachelor pad, where Fernando is lamenting to Luisa about his mother’s controlling ways. Luisa drops the bomb that she doesn’t want to get married after all and takes Oriana’s ring off her finger and puts it on the table. Fernando is shocked to say the least.

BARRERA ESTATE
The first new scene of episode 101 begins at the Barrera estate. Arturo and Teresa are just arriving home from Fernando’s apartment and Arturo says he is upset about Oriana’s behavior, but did not want to have a direct confrontation with her in front of everyone, however in the future, he is not going to hesitate confronting her. Teresa pretends to take the high road and says that she will endure Oriana’s harassment for Arturo’s and Luisa’s sake, and that time will prove her right, then silently says to herself, “...or time will give me the chance to get even with that bitchy (unhappy) woman”. Both Arturo and Teresa are concerned about the way Oriana put pressure on Fernando to ask Luisa to marry him, and Arturo says he wants to have a private talk with Fernando about it.

FERNANDO'S APARTMENT
Fernando, still in shock, asks “Are you sure you no longer want to get married, Luisa?” Luisa says that of course she loves him and wants to marry him, but not because he was pressured into it by his horrifying, psycho-chick mom.

Fernando gets serious, looks into Luisa’s eyes, gently caresses her face and says that he didn’t like the way she did things tonight, but he says, “I love you and only needed a nudge to decide that I really want to marry you.” Luisa is touched by this and asks “Are you serious? ...For me marriage is for life, and I want you to think hard before giving me a ring.”

Fernando is face to face with her, and with sincerity that only a man in love can muster, he says his past attitudes about marriage have changed; the desire for eternal bachelorhood has faded. Living with her has erased all doubts. The player has stopped playing. This is a man loving his woman, as he says, “I have nothing more to think about, my love, I love you and want to marry you. Will you accept?” Without hesitation Luisa says, “If you really have no doubts, then of course I accept.” Fernando places the ring back on her finger and kisses his future wife.

BARRERA ESTATE
Teresa says to Art that she wants to visit Esperanza. Arturo cannot go because he has to work on the Saenz case. Juana is there and will accompany Teresa to see Esperanza. Teresa runs off to go get the gifts that she bought while in Europe. While Arturo is talking with Juana, she mentions to him that Mariano doesn’t live in the Vecindad so he doesn’t have to worry any more about Teresa running into him. Arturo is pleased and says that maybe now the ghosts of Paloma and Mariano can finally be put out of their lives.

GRAMPS’ NEIGHBORHOOD
Patty is out for a stroll, sees her Grumpy Gramps and greets him in her usual cheerful way. She says she was just coming over to check on him. He scowls and says if she really cared for him, she wouldn’t have run away. She says that Johnny is now her husband and she is his wife. Gramps rudely tells her to SHUT UP! And that the whole affair with her leaving has made him sick! Patty, taking this literally, offers to take him to the doctor. Gramps harshly says that Johnny is no good for her. Patty invites him over for dinner some night. Gramps rudely growls, “In that hovel where you live? Forget it! I’m not going to set foot in that neighborhood!” Patty is hurt and her expression reveals that she may now be realizing Gramps is nothing more than an old condescending curmudgeon. His bitterness is blinding him from seeing that the one person, who truly cares for him, is slipping away.

ESPERANZA’S APARTMENT
Teresa and Juana are at Esperanza’s place, and the conversation turns to important chick matters like clothes and men. Luckily I pressed the FF>> button before I puked. Later, Teresa started yapping about who is going to be the “sponsor” of Esperanza’s baby, and the subject of Crapberto came up. Juana mentions that she is no longer seeing Crapberto because she decided to boink Hector instead. Teresa jumped up and said that she too thinks it is best for Juana to boink Hector. Esperanza thinks that Teresa is completely ridiculous (as do I), as she shakes her head as if to say, “chicks are so figgin’ weird.” I couldn’t agree more, Esperanza, I couldn’t agree more.

HOSPITAL OFFICE
Aida barges into the conference room where Mariano is working. She has some tickets for a concert and wants to celebrate because of the realization that Mariano really loves her and cares about her. She jumped to this conclusion because Mariano had spoken to Mayra about keeping Aida out of the criminal case against Ruben. They start with some kissy-kissy action and then Aurora walks in, so they stop and Mariano leaves.

Aida confides in Aurora and that she is having fun with Mariano, but is bummed out that he has not even come close to mentioning anything about getting married to her. (At this point I’m yelling at the TV screen “Yeah right, Aida, why don’t you hold your breath and wait for that, you crazy gata; sometimes men just like to have sex Aida, sometimes they just want to have SEX. Get over yourself. Crazy gata.) Anyway, she apparently didn’t hear me because she then says that she wishes Mariano would take their relationship to the next level and formalize it. Chicks...

JOHNNY'S TAXI
Our dear friend Johnny is sitting in his parked taxi on the side of the street taking a lunch break. He’s about to enjoy one those sandwiches he’s been delivering. You’ll notice he didn’t buy anything for us. Chomp. “Hey wait a minute,” Johnny “thinks” to himself (and I use the term loosely) “what did I just bite into?” He opens his sandwich, and finds something magically delicious inside. Drugs!! Drugs in pill form, hidden in his sandwich. Johnny wonders, “Did I order this? I don’t remember ordering that. Hope I wasn’t charged for it, where’s that receipt?”

MARIANO'S DELUXE APARTMENT
Ah, its night time, when the cats come out to play. Here comes one now. It’s Teresa, and she’s catting around Mariano’s new apartment building. As she wanders the hallway, she stops a cute girl walking by and asks the girl for help finding Mariano’s apartment. She directs Teresa to apartment 209.

Teresa rings the doorbell.
Mariano: “Who is it?”
Teresa: “Land Shark”
Or she might have said “Good evening Mariano, can we talk?” I get confused.

Teresa sarcastically asks him why he never invited her over to see his new place. Teresa asks about his dad, and Mariano says he preferred to stay in the old neighborhood. Mariano says he has nothing more to say to her, Aida would not want her there, so he asks her to leave and he doesn’t want to hear any more of her lies.

Teresa says, she came to say that she reconciled with Arturo in Europe and is going ahead with her marriage. Mariano says he doesn’t know why she’s bothering to tell him that. Teresa says it is because she once told Mariano she would divorce Arturo and return to him, but Mariano failed to seize the opportunity, and now it’s gone.

In a spontaneous moment of passion, Mariano suddenly and aggressively grabs Teresa in an “I want you now” gesture. He holds her so tight, and is so dangerously close to kissing this beautiful, but married woman, who was once his whole world.

With their lips almost touching, Mariano says Teresa would have probably just betrayed him later and got back with Arturo just to see Europe. Teresa says that they will never know how things would have turned out, because they failed to take the opportunity to be happy together.

Mariano releases her and says they have nothing more to talk about. Teresa begs to differ and says that they do indeed have more to discuss. She starts to tell him that they have known each other since they were children and have been through a lot together. She is interrupted by his ringing cell phone.

When Mariano answers, he affectionately calls Aida “my love”, in subtle defiance of Teresa; almost to say “see, I’ve moved on, I’m over you”.

Teresa says, “So you’re still not living with her.” Mariano smirks and says, “Well now that you mention it, that’s not a bad idea.”

They both agree that they each are moving on with their lives and that it’s not good to keep a grudge. Teresa says she doesn’t like Mariano’s attitude, that it is clear he still has some anger, as tears build up in her eyes.

Then Mariano coldly says, “Well then let’s agree to say goodbye with a smile.”

Teresa moves to hug him, but Mariano barely reciprocates the hug as his arms fall to his side and tears build in his eyes as well. Teresa softly says, “Truly, I wish you well”.

Teresa slowly walks out, and as he closes the door behind her, Mariano turns and says under his breath “Why does it have to end every time? Why?” On the other side of the door, Teresa has stopped in her tracks. She leans against the wall sobbing, “He’s not living with Aida. He loves me, he still loves me; I felt it. I still love Mariano.“

Inside, Mariano stands alone fighting tears, contemplating the love he once had, that now is gone.

VEDINDAD
Johnny is frantically chasing down Gema. He tells her he has discovered the sandwiches he has been delivering are all loaded with drugs. Gema said the drugs are from Fito and that she thought Johnny knew about it. Johnny is flabbergasted and can’t believe that all this time he’s been delivering drugs. Gema says, “That’s right Johnny, you’re as involved with this as Fito and me” but that after all, Johnny needed money for a refrigerator and to help Esperanza.

Johnny insists that Gema deceived him and that he doesn’t want to earn money this way. Gema replies, “Oh please Johnny, don’t be so naïve. What are you going to do, go to the police? You’re as guilty as us; see ya.” (I say Johnny ought to relax and just think of it like it’s the prize in a Cracker Jack box.)

AUORORA'S HOUSE
The gorgeous Aurora is sitting on the couch with Hector and she asks, “Daddy, was I liked (or wanted) when I was born?” (Wow that line really ruined the moment for me. I was just starting to get into looking at AnaBrenda and imagining her in lingerie, then BOOM, she starts talking like a KID. I think Aurora is regressing; it’s very un-sexy.) Hector assures her that she was a much-wanted daughter, because he was dying to be a father.

**At this point, my Comcast cable service went out for a few seconds so I missed a little of this**

When my cable service returned, Vanessa and Hector are arguing. Vanessa says she was very young at the time, but things are different now and she really loves her “real daughter.” She asks Hector, “What do I have to do to for you to forgive me? Please, tell me, I'm willing to do anything.” Hector turns around and walks out.

VECINDAD
Johnny and Patty are walking down the street. Johnny seems uncomfortable and eventually tells Patty that he loves her and would never do anything wrong on purpose. He loses his nerve and can’t tell Patty what’s really going on so he makes up a story that he’s scared because he almost ran over somebody. Patty comforts him. I’ve decided Gloria Aura is too hot for Johnny.

AURORA’S HOUSE
A-HHHAAA!! I knew it!! Vanessa is having a sneaky-snake conversation with someone on the phone. We catch her saying, “Yes, my love. Of course, not far away...the Framework is... Aurora’s coming...” and she hastily hangs up. What a sleaze.

Vanesssssa tells Aurora some line about relations improving with Hector. Aurora tells her to forget about Hector, because he is happy with Juana. Vanessssa then gossips with Aurora about Mariano and Aida, and Vanessa says that it doesn’t sound to her like Mariano is truly in love with Aida and that Aurora still has a shot and should go for Mariano. Aurora predictably says that she can’t do that to Aida. Vanessssa tells her that if the time comes, she’s going to have to decide – and it sounds like she was telling Aurora she should go for it.

VECINDAD
It is still night time, and Fito is walking down a sidewalk. Johnny’s taxi speeds in and screeches to a halt next to Fito. Johnny quickly gets out and marches toward Fito. With a head full of steam he takes an aggressive swing at Fito. Fito, wants to know what the heck is wrong with Johnny.

Johnny tells Fito he is a bastard and that he knows now that Fito has been using him to distribute his drug crap. Fito of course acts like it’s no big deal and that Johnny shouldn’t worry about it, because after all, he is earning money. Johnny continues to give Fito a piece of his mind. At this point, Fito has had enough and pins Johnny against the wall with his arm, then pins the barrel of his semi-automatic pistol against Johnny’s face.

Johnny says that this whole scheme is Fito’s and Gema’s doing, and that he wants no part of it. Fito tells Johnny that leaving the [drug] business is not so easy; usually the way to leave is to DIE. Fito says he will offer Johnny the opportunity to work for him full time to earn more money not just to pay him back, but so that he can treat his wife Patty like a queen and give her all the things to which she is accustomed.

Fito then gives Johnny the ol’ Nutcracker move (knee to the groin) and reminds Johnny that HE is calling the shots, and if he doesn’t want to die, he will cooperate, and earn money in the drug business.

AURORA'S HOUSE
Teresa shows up and tells Aurora that she remembered her in Paris. Teresa says she didn’t like how things were with Aurora before she left for Europe. Aurora says that she has seen time and time again that Teresa was not honest with her. They banter back and forth and then Vanessssa shows up. They have some uncomfortable snarky discussion about Vanessa’s abandonment of Aurora, and in turn, Vanessssa snarkely reminds Teresa that she’s the girl that was poor and pretended to be rich when she was in school. Good times.

Teresa then breaks out the presents she bought with Arturo’s money. Vanesssa says that Aurora doesn’t need anyone giving her stuff. Vanesssa tells Aurora that she doesn’t yet really know just how beautiful she is inside and out. (I’ll vouch for the outside part.)

Eventually Teresa leaves and afterward Aurora asks her mom what her impression is of Teresa. Vanessa says that Teresa seems like the kind of person who will fight for the man she loves. But she’s married and it is clear Mariano doesn’t sufficiently love Aida, so Aurora is the one with the most possibility of snagging Mariano. Hmmm, Mariano has Teresa, Aida, and Aurora trying to snag him... Nice problem to have!

VECINDAD
The next morning, Patty is on the sidewalk sweeping and someone walks buy and carelessly dumps two bags of garbage practically on Patty with the attitude of, well I’m in a hurry and you’ll clean it up. Johnny is in an alley and sees this. He flashes back to words Fito said last night, “...with what you earn you can provide for your wife like a queen, give her everything she is used to having...“

NEXT MORNING AT AURORA'S HOUSE
Hector is having breakfast in his yard and Vanessa slithers up behind him. She flirts with him a little and tries to get him to think about their first kiss, and then she grabs hector by the face and plants a kiss on his mouth.

Of course, Juana is walking up just as Vanesssssa is doing the deed. Hector angrily pushes Vanesssa away and tells her, “Have you not understood that I love Juana?” and tells her it is time for her go leave the house. Juana walks up next to Hector and says, “you heard what he said, scram you pole-dancing gata.” (I may have slightly mis-translated that.)

Vanesssa can’t believe what she’s hearing. She says, “Are you running me out of this house because of that woman? And I don’t pole-dance anymore... well maybe occasionally on weekends. OMG, I have a dominatrix costume I’ll show you later that’s absolutely fabulous!” :^)

Aurora is freaking out and whining about Hector kicking Vanessssa out of the house. Hector tries to explain that he understands that she wants to be around her mother but she can no longer be in the house. Daddy’s Little Girl reminds Hector that they had a deal – Vanesssa gets to stay in the house. Hector reminds Aurora that Vanessssa was only going to stay a few days and it has been much longer than that. He suggests that Aurora and Vanessa can rent a place and see each other all they want but she is not staying at his house anymore. Hector also tells her why he is so mad; that Vanesssa kissed Hector when Juana was approaching.

Aurora tries to chase down Vanesssa and convince her to stay. Vannesssa admits to kissing Hector, but lies and says it was only a minor kiss on the cheek. Aurora is upset and can’t believe Hector is kicking Vanessa out over a simple misunderstanding.

Juana then asks for some alone time with Aurora to try to hash things out. Juana is sorry for the problems that are going on, and feels partly responsible. Aurora starts venting and whines that her dad was single for 20 years, her mom comes back, and bamm – there’s Juana in the way. Juana is taken back and Aurora apologizes. Aurora then says that Juana walked up and saw a kiss on the cheek – why is that a big deal; and Juana (knowing it was definitely more than that) can’t believe what she just heard. They each whine about this a little more and Aurora finally says that she’s sorry, but she wants and needs to be with her mom now. YAWWWN. YAAWWWN. That was a double-yawn scene.

MARIANO’S APARTMENT
Mariano’s doorbell rings and it is one of the girls that lives in the building and she is selling cookbooks as a school fundraiser. This is the same girl that earlier had helped Teresa find Mariano’s apartment. Her name is Sofia. Mariano buys a book.

FERNANDO'S APARTMENT
Teresa and Luisa are chatting at Fernando’s apartment about the evil Oriana and how she forced the engagement to happen, and how she will very likely take over organizing the wedding. Luisa says she got everything worked out with Fernando and that he assured her that he really wants to marry Luisa.

The doorbell rings.

Luisa goes to answer the door. Teresa follows her as they continue their conversation. Luisa opens the door and... It’s Sofia, the cute girl who helped Teresa find Mariano’s apartment the other day and the same one selling books! She starts giving Luisa her sales pitch.

Then Sofia spots Teresa and says, “Ahh, Hello Miss Gata! Were you able to find the apartment of Mariano Sanchez?” Ohhhhhhhhhh, BUSTED!!! Tiburoncita is MORTIFIED!! She’s shaking her head and silently gesturing to Sofia like No-No-No, don’t say anything SHUTUP-SHUTUP-SHUTUP!!!

But it is too late for our Tiburoncita. The gata is out of the bag! Luisa has a “what-the-heck” look on her face and turns to Teresa like she’s got some explaining to do... It is going to take some very creative lying for our Tiburoncita to get out of this one!

...and now you know what happened in Episode 101.

Not to worry! You're posted, but can you check the side and click on Teresa to see if it's linked there now? I bookmarked it but cuz it's Chrome I can't tell.// As for your title--damned funny! Now I gotta get into the "meat" of it. CUL8TR.

Sharkbyte- I was laughing out loud during the end of the episode. Thanks for the great pics of Teresa's face during that scene. I also loved the way you captured that scene of Fer making a real proposal to Luisa. Let's hope he remembers his own words when the Tiburoncita starts circling again.

Little Sofia sure did stir up some trouble in her few short scenes!

Two points of clarification, when Teresa was speaking to Espe she was basically trying to convince Espe to ask Mariano to be the padrino, in a round about way. That's the only reason why she wants to be the madrina. Remember how she missed her opportunity when Aurora was the commmunion madrirna of Espe's little brother and Mariano was the padrino. And when your cable went out Hector and Vanessa spoke about how Aurora was an unexpected baby and Vanessa HATED that she was pregnant and did NOT want the baby.

Speaking of said "baby", Aurora really has regressed. It looked like Hector was about to tell her some cold hard facts when she was fighting with him about kicking mommy out, but Juana intervened and once again softened the blow for Baby Aurora. It's time to rip the bandaid and blinders off and let her grow up.

Jardinera - It looks like it is linked properly. Hopefully I figured out the problem. If you hear of anyone having a similar problem and they are using Internet Explorer 9, tell them to try enabling "Compatibility Mode" from the Tools menu. That seemed to work for me. Thanks.

That Aurora is getting on my LAST NERVE. "Noooo Daddy I don't want Mommy to goooo..." She gets cut a lot of slack 'coz she's so sweet, but you know, there is such a thing as PASSIVELY ruining people's lives. Someone needs to make that girl a reality sandwich.

Hey Blue Lass - maybe Johnny can give Aurora one of his "special" sandwiches!

SharkByte: Thanks for checking. Is IE9 still a beta or for reelz now? I stopped using it cuz it had too many hiccups at the time.//
I was giggling the whole way through your recap again.....you missed your calling in this century. Are you a Flashman fan by any chance? Anywhooo, your take on and prose with Fernando's redux proposal, not to mention your rant re: sometimes guys just wanna have SEX had me ROTFLOL! Pardon the channeling of Cyndi Lauper. It cannot be helped!

Again, brilliant Sharkbyte. I especially love your pole-dancing conversation with Hector and Vanessa. We all suspected she was a piece of work, but now we know after that little phone exchange.

But did anyone else want to just give Aurora a TN slap across the face. (we would NEVer do that in real life- but here, I say go for it.) I understand the whole "my mommy is back in my life" but she is acting like a 10 year old. I can understand she wanting her mother in her life, but why the house STILL, she doesn't question why mumsy doesn't get out and work, and expects her father to take this woman back after 20 years? In real life, she needs to be seeing someone professionally and deal with all this- though we know in TN's no one ever does that.

Did anyone else notice too that costume has her dressing more and more childish too?

Too much Johnny - argh!! All that was a FF for me.

Please don't have Aeeedddaa move in with Mar just because he wants to get back at Teresa! Love her Busted look at the end there - and looks like she gets confronted by Artie tomorrow (no episode tonight. )

Oh, a tiny p.s.: Vee lied to Aurora about that kiss she gave Hector. She toldAurora it was only on the cheek and not reason enough to give her the boot. Aurora told Juana said detail. Juana immediately exclaimed: "--Is that what she told you?" So, at least Juana has Vee's number now. Maybe she and Tere should get together to mastermind strategy for some major payback.

Daisynjay: Yep, I started noticing the babydoll dresses they've stuck Aurora in recently, too.

Glad we also got that clarification around Aeeeeda not really having moved in with Mar yet, tho' she was having a great time rubbing Tere's nose in it aby making her think so and keeping her (and some of us) guessing.

Yes, I also thinkt he wardrobe people are making deliberate choices about the clothes they put Aurora in. For a while, when she was dating Martin, she started dressing sexier and more adult-like. Even her body language is more insecure and childlike. Notice how she kept curling in on herself and clutching one arm with the other. And Vanessa's comment to her about Aurora needing to realize how beautiful she is both inside and out, after Teresa gifted her the dress, was definitely a suggestion for her to start sexing her wardrobe up.

We need Martin back. He was always able to talk some sense into her. He's one of reasons why she doesn't trust Tere now (let's hoep she doesn't regress on that front). He would be able to spot what's rotten with the Vanessa situation and set her on the right path.

Jardinera - IE9 is no longer beta as far as I know.

Vivi - thanks for filling in details and clarifications; I really needed the help with this episode.

I hope all you ladies appreciated the picture of Fernando I put at the top of the post. I was going to go with a picture of Luisa, but I thought I'd give you girls a break. (Luckily there were no jammie scenes, those truly do gross me out.) Anyway, I'll try to keep you ladies in mind when I put pictures up in the future; just remember to cut me some slack when there's a bikini scene :^)

Thank you Sharkbyte for your witty recap and very appropriate choice of fotos!
I would like to know a little more of the Vanessa/Juana conversation and of the Vanessa/Aurora conversation about Mariano, because it seemed to me Vanessa was giving good advice to Aurora about that, anyway,
and the conversation between Vanessa and Tere-wow, it seemed like Godzilla meets King Kong, I missed a lot of what they were saying if anyone caught it.
Poor Johnny, it was the first time I was really interested in what was happening to them and it didn't seem like filler.

We appreicate any pics you can throw our way. The one with Mar isn't bad either - just do the 'ole Terror trick she uses, put your hand over the person you don't want (in this case our little Sharkette herself) and picture yourself there. I could stand a smoldering.... yeah, I seriously need to get back to work.

I can't feel sorry for Johnny's predicament. I feel sorry for Pati, but not Johnny, because

a) he KNEW Fito was no good and selling drugs

b) he KNEW Fito probably had something to do with Paolo's OD.

c) Mariano TOLD him to stay away from Fito AND Gema.

The best thing for Johnny to do is take Pati to the town where his parents live. But he won't do that because he's Dumb@$$ Johnny.

Aurora's even dressing like a 12 year old (playing with momma's hooker boots). She's even wearing little headbands with bows.

I'm glad Sofia busted out Teresa. And it looks like Mariano might be coming to his senses, slowly.

SharkByte, thanks for the terrific recap. I'm glad you got your posting problems worked out. I love the title.

You're a dear for thinking of the ladies and posting Fernando's picture at the top, but he was slightly overdressed. As in not wearing just a towel. But you know us chicks, we're never satisfied, LOL!

My favorite line: "I’ve decided Gloria Aura is too hot for Johnny." Yep, couldn't agree more.

Great sequence of shots showing Tere's terror at being busted by Sofia.

Thanks for the great recap and pics SharkByte! I had a laugh out loud moment when you called Aída a crazy gata.

I don't have a problem with girls in bikinis, as long as you promise some shirtless Arturo!

The girl playing Sofía was the daughter of the producer Jose Alberto Castro. She looks alot like her mom, Angélica Rivera (from Destilando Amor), who just remarried to the strongest candidate for the presidency next year. So little Sofía will probably become first step-daughter or whatever.

Anyway, Johnny is so stupid. If there was ever a worse time to get involved with drugs, that time is this year. You are so lucky you live in Mexico City you big doofus or else you'd be dealing not only with the police but the military.

Aurora's wardrobe this episode was so funny. All we needed was for her daddy to give her a lolly pop so she wouldn't be upset.

I wish I could like Mariano, but he is such a drama queen and he gets in everybody's business all the time and then I just can't. And that book he agreed to buy was 600 pesos? Seriously? What kind of school gives its students books of 600 pesos to sell?

Jarocha

SharkByte: Great recap with photos, thanks. It is always nice to see what the male viewers think of these TN.

Has anyone noticed that Tere was de-flowered while in Europe. She no longer wears those fugly flowers. I am sure it was intentional just as Aurora's image change.

Please don't tell me that Hector is not Aurora's bio-father? Was it a clue when Van said she would be bringing Aurora? What is that bruja up to?

I don't like the drug story line and it is not looking good for Johnny and Pati.

Rosemary

Rosemary: Ooooh! Good catch about Vanessa and the possibility Hector's not Aurora's bio-daddy! I remember wondering if I caught the meaning when Hector was shooting her down in the living room.

Jarocha- Thanks for the info on little big mouth Sofia. It pays to be the producer's kid. With her actress mom and producer dad, I'm sure we'll see her pop up in other tns to come.

LOL on your line about Aurora and the lolipop!

Ay yay yay! Please don't let Aurora be another man's child! Vanessa is for sure working with some lover on a scheme against Hector and Aurora though.

I feel sorry for Johnny, and I too found this storyline really interesting for once (although I have a much higher tolerance for Johnny and Pati than most here). Fito looks like he's taking on a greater role in the plot, and with Teresa back, I'm sure he'll make his presence known to her soon. I want him to spend his time making Teresa's life difficult, not Johnny and Pati's.

Clever recap, enjoyed the photos Sharkbyte! I'm disappointed in our galan, Mariano. He lies to Aurora about not having any 'feelings' for Teresa. I guess his passion/lust aren't feelings. He's weak and delusional. He doesn't accept that Teresa's all about Teresa and money. He makes excuses for her behavior. He tells Esperanza to get over her loser and move on. He's great at giving advice, but doesn't walk to the talk...yet...
jb

SharkByte, thanks for a fun recap. My favorite lines: “Did I order this?... where’s that receipt?” Welcome comic relief because it looks like Pati is going to be in danger through Johnny's screw-up. I thought Fito was making a veiled threat about her. Also, loved the pics - any with Mar is good, even from behind.

I'm still feeling like Luisa deserves a better marriage proposal. Fer, surely with all your dinero, blue blood, and playboy ways, you can come up with something special.

Bravo to Juana for not doing the usual TV thing and running away when she saw the beso with Vanessa. So glad she stayed and saw Hector reject la mala. I'm starting to like Juana with Hector, but I still want a new and improved Cutberto to return.

Oooh, the hissing between Tiburoncita and Vanessa was good stuff. Teresa wondered aloud about what Vanessa has been up to all these years, covering all the things everyone here has suggested except I think for the pole dancing. Vanessa countered by dissing Teresa as the one who faked being rich in high school and even looked down her nose at Teresa bringing gifts back from Europe for Aurora. Vanesssa is mala, but there was elegance in the way she insulted Teresa. Touche. I'm going to love seeing Teresa take down Orianna and Vanessa.

Awesome recap Sharkbyte. Mariano finally did it. He resisted the wiles of Teresa although it was hard for him to do but finally he got off the merry-go-round of misery. I was proud of him last night. Another thing we learned is he and Aida are not living together. That apartment is all his. All Teresa can do from here on is wonder what if. She choose ambition and status over love.

I was surprised at how sincere Fernando was in proposing to Luisa. He does truly love her. However, I don't think Teresa will let that fly in her plans to get back at his mother for humiliating her.

Johnny is in a world of trouble and now with Fito threatening him his back is really against the wall.

I'm tired of little girl Aurora. She needs to see the two faces of her mother and then she can finally stop this regression and become assertive and go after the man she loves.

FYI, no Teresa tonight.

Niecie, let's head out to that pueblo and escort Cutberto back -- one on each arm! ;}

Sharkbyte another great recap and fulled of a male point of view humor. Thank you and please don't stop being you majority here are enjoying your male perspective about certain scenes.

As has been mentioned the pole dancing line talk between Hector and Vanessa hilarious. Falling on the floor from laughter was when you were yelling at the TV set when Aeeeeeeeeda was asking baby girl Aurora why Mariano wasn't asking her to jump the broom yet? Because you're a crazy gata!

Me of course i was yelling at my TV because your a crazy psycho b!tch and non stop deranged harpy that's why. But hey we're almost have the same thought pattern about her.

Loved the showdown between the old veteran shark Vanessa and the little sharkette who is swimming with the big girls.

Ita about Aurora grow up and hitch up those big girl panties and stop that silly needless whining please.

Mariano and Teresa in the bachelor pad he is still effected by her but he was strong enough to finally move on. Good boy Mariano.

Subtle little scene when Mariano is in his office kissing his crazy gata as Aurora walks in he moves away and stops the kissing and leaves them both. It was if he doesn't want to offend or upset Aurora letting her see him with the crazy gata.

I guess we'll find out soon who Vanessa was talking to on the phone.

"And Vanessa's comment to her about Aurora needing to realize how beautiful she is both inside and out, after Teresa gifted her the dress, was definitely a suggestion for her to start sexing her wardrobe up."

---

Vivi, hope Aurora does ditch her current little girl clothes and go back to her old self. I also saw Vanessa's comment as a dig to Teresa that Aurora is beautiful inside (as well as out), unlike Teresa.

I don't think Johnny knew Fito and Gema were dealing drugs-in one episode he was talking about how good those sandwiches must be because so many people want them--he's just rather mentally challenged.
Thanks Niecie for clarifying Tere and Van's conversation. They apparently equally recognize each other's character type.

Good on you for this, SharkByte, though I don't think I'll be able to get the picture of Teresa as a landshark out of my head. (Unfortunately, I don't think "candygram" translates well.)

Emarie- No, Johnny didn't know that the sandwiches had drugs. But he knows Fito is a drug dealer, and he knows Gema is no saint either. He has continually gone to these two for help (and kept quiet about seeing Fito), despite what he knows about these two and despite the warnings of many people. I feel sorry for him, but he sort of got himself into this mess out of stupidity and pride (not wanting to ask others for help).

Great recap Sharkbyte! Loved the "landshark" reference.

I've been thinking of Vanessa as a viper mostly cuz it kinda goes together. But last night, my imagination went crazy. With her hair combed as it is, Vanessa is starting to look like a cobra!

ITA about Aurora's wardrobe: too childish.

I think Fito made a very definite threat against Pati and Johnny later said he'll do whatever he has to in order to keep her safe. He said this when he found her sleeping on the couch.

RE: Sofia the nieghbor selling cookbooks. She reminded me soooo much of Luna Lovegood (played by Evanna Lynch) from the Harry Potter films! She has that sort of glazed look and high pitched voice.

Yes, Vivi, Johnny is an incredible example of someone with no ability to connect the dots.
I thought Sofia was some kind of girl scout, she was a neighbor?

Blue Lass, Cutberto's not perfect but he's got my essentials: sincere and fun and kinda cute.

Emarie - Yes, Sofia was a neighbor. I recall when she introduced herself to Luisa, she said she was the neighbor in 602.

SharkByte

I'm glad I'm not the only person who noticed that Aurora's clothes are getting more and more childish. Where are the Mary Janes, the bows, etc...

Vanesssssssssssssa's reaction to Teresa's gifts was beyond ungracious. It was declasse.

Nothing new to add about Johnny and Pati; this one is headed for disaster.

Thanks to Sharkbyte, Jardinera and Paquita for the fab recaps the last few days. I enjoyed them and laughed through them all.

Shades of Saturday Night Fever. That pic of Fers eems like a throwback to John Travolta with Fer's parted hair and the big lapels on that blue jacket. Fer seems more of a possibility now for Tere since she was caught by Luisa, her greatest ally. If Art learns of this visit to Mar at his new digs maybe he'll opt for a separation. Might as well go for the big bucks and enjoy revenge against Odious Oriana by pursuing her son, Fer. And no guilt, since Luisa may not be her best friend since she thinks she cheated on Art. Just speculating.

Aurora makes faces when Vanesssa disses Juana and Tere for their humble origins and maybe she has an idea Vanessa is a liar but it still doesn't stop Aurora from desperately wanting Mom around all the time. She is an emotional mess and will be shattered when she actually finds out what Vanessa did in the past and is planning for the future (hope we find out soon what her devious plan is.)

Forgot to mention how helpful the recaps and comments are for me in understanding the dialogue.

Oops, GinCA not GunCa. Sheeesh.

Ah, Mr. SharkByte! Just love your POV!! Gracias!

So...who is Vanessa's Man of Mystery? I honestly have no clue, but would love to read a list!

There is something about Fer that is just not believable to me...not sure exactly what it is, but something is 'not quite right'.

Teresa is crying tears of relief because she thinks Mariano still loves her. So? What is her point? Is her goal to prevent him from loving anyone else, but she just keeps on taking Art for all he's worth?

Could the little Sofia neighbour next door be the start the Teresa's undoing? It only takes a tiny snowball to morph into a bigger snowball.

Susanita

Forgot to say Sharkbyte...also love the 'Absolutely Fabulous' Line! Loved it!!!

----------------------------

Teresa's point is all eyes must be only on her at all times. She must have the attention always. Just like she got pissed during the Luisa/Juana/Aurora conversation about Juana being Luisa/Aurora's second mother.

Agreed, Anon207, but don't you think there's more to it with Mariano (at this stage) than just having the attention? I guess I thought those tears of relief were too melodramatic for someone just wanting attention solely focused on her.

If that's all it is, then she is sick for doing what she did to Mariano in that scene. I sometimes think that not even he understands why she can repeatedly do this to him and why he repeatedly allows her to do it.

Susanita

I am afraid that Tere and Mar are two halves of a whole. Therefore, they cannot happily love anyone else. Do you remember the recap of the first episode said that Tere "melted" into Mar's arms? It is Mar's great misfortune that he is her other half. She will probably go after Fer, for greed, power, revenge, whatever, but she can never love him, either. They are the only couple on the TN that seem like two halves of a whole.
So, although I would love to see Aurora and Mar together, but I don't think it can happen.
Hernan seems like he is Espe's other half.

Thanks Sharkbyte for a fun filled recap with wonderful screencaps! Glad you snapped a photo of the “kiss” between Hector and Vanessa, we might need it later to show Aurora!

I think that there has been some maturation between Mariano and Teresa. I felt that there was a drop of sincerity in her desire to have things good between them, a smile as she said it. They are both to blame for the broken situation they are in, Mariano stubbornly refused to consider leaving the vecindad and Teresa knew she couldn’t be happy there; as it has happened now, with a little encouragement from Aida, he has moved to a better neighborhood/building and is enjoying his surroundings. As I listened to his earlier goals, he only wanted to run a clinic for his poor neighbors underwritten by a tax benefit given to wealthy donors, he said nothing about having the higher end practice and the moderately comfortable life that he seems to take pride in now. Would his present situation be good enough for our Teresa, I don’t know, but she wasn’t given an opportunity to make that choice, he rebuffed her suggestions to do the very thing he as done….better his living conditions, enjoy the fruits of his labor. Teresa’s stifling mother, her obnoxious classmates, combined with her God given desire to get ahead has made her into a very complicated person that is tough to completely understand. Of course, I am looking at this in a real life way and this is a novela after all, so who knows!

Teresa was hilarious when she enumerated all the possible reasons for Vanessa’s absence……lost memory?……. the carcel? …….. a sickness so bad you couldn’t leave the bed? ……all novela staples!

Aurora has had so many “gotcha” moments listening to her mother’s ideas, when is she going to put two and two together and realize what Sharkbyte knew the first day? Vanessa is working with someone back at the “hotel”…..she is a grifter!

So many great comments.....

Sandy- I thought that list of typical tn reasons for Vanessa being "incapable" of calling Aurora was hilarious too. Not only was it a great dig at both Vanessa (for being a big old liar) and Aurora (for stupidly believing her), it was also a dig by the writers at other tns. Kind of an, "In your face other tns! We have managed to have a super popular novela without all that other estupidez. Yes, we're talking to you, TDA."

I've been reading a lot of news about the Rupert Murdoch debacle in Britain and much of it lately has focused on his wife Wendi Deng since the shaving cream pie incident. I decided to look her up. Read her Wikipedia page, especially the Personal Life section. Doesn't she bear a startling resemblance (not physically) to our Tiburoncita?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wendi_Deng

ViviDC: interesting info on that link. I'd say much similar situation perhaps to the original Teresa when the Arturo character was cast as a guy 40 years or so her senior, but definitely a resemblance to our Tiburoncita and her ilk.

Jardinera- Yes, Art being young and hot, as well as rich, ditto for Fernando, makes the difference. But it's way more fun for us to watch! ;-)

Wendi Deng is super smart like our Teresa and gets her first mark (a married man 30 years her senior) AND his wife to tutor, mentor, sponsor her, and take her into their home (Art and Luisa). She was in the top 1% of her class. She steals the hsuband and marries him to get her American green card, all the while having an affair with a younger man (her Mariano). Gets divorced. She continues her rise at the best US schools and in her career. She meets her big fish Murdoch (her Fernando, but 40 years her senior) and steals him from his wife. She went from being a low level journalist to the wife and business partner of the biggest media magnate in the world. She now controls huge chunks of his business, and fought with his grown children so that her young kids could get managing shares in the company like they have. It's admirable, in a way.

Admirable? Remind me not to introduce you to my husband...

LOL! Blue Lass, I would never take any plays from the book of Teresa or Wendi. It's admirable from afar. If either woman was my friend/acquaintance, I would keep my distance for sure.

Sandy - I'm glad you expanded on the details of that conversation with Teresa, Vanessa, and Aurora. In retrospect I think that scene was juicier than I originally thought. If I had it to do over, I would have put more detail in the recap about that scene. Oh well, you live and learn.

For those that didn't see the scene, I recall also that Vanessa snapped back that Aurora knows the reasons why she left, because she's already talked about it to Aurora. Aurora then went on to summarize for Teresa what Vanessa's reasons were for leaving. Vanessa seemed to bring up Teresa's embarrassing situation at school as a bit of a "right-back-at-ya" quip.

Vivi that's so interesting! There are more Teresa's in the world than we'd imagine. I think Wendi Deng, like our Teresa, would have still had a brilliant future had she decided to continue her ascence in life based solely in her career.

I think the first Arturo was 29 years Teresa's senior but he didn't look that older in the novela. He could pass for 10 years younger than his age. The second Arturo, Daniel Giménez Cacho, was only 5 years older than Teresa number 2, since he was only 28 and Salma Hayek was 23. Rulli is actually older than Giménez Cacho by 7 years which means he is older than Angelique by 13 years.

That was me, Jarocha, up there.

Jarocha

That is so interesting about Wendy Deng, who certainly caught my attention when she wacked that guy with the pie. Admire from a distance, the way one admires a shark in a tank. And, also, to the wives mentioned, no good deed goes unpunished!

And the men are equally to blame!

And by the way -- I'm saying this apropos of absolutely nothing but just because it's bugging me -- Fernando's neck is too big for his head.

Necks are such an odd part of the body. I never notice them if they are there but I remember a time when Colunga used to over-exercise and his neck dissapeared and that completely freaked me out.

Jarocha

Vivi, the funniest line in Wendi Deng's Wikipedia profile is the last line, "Deng is a vegan." How unusual for a man eating tiburon. Wow, a real live Teresa.

GinCA

Blue Lass/ViviDC/Jarocha/GinCA.EMarie: I have to laugh! We'd have to admire from afar, it just is something we'd never ever consider, let alone dream of doing ourselves. I think we admire--or maybe the better word would be marvel?-- like we admire the building of the Bay Bridge or the Empire State Bldg. as an accomplishment or a feat of magnitude, but not of anything virtuous.

For me Nando's neck is off-putting more because of his Saturday Night Fever leisure suit. Once you get used to the fact he's a meatier build than most that is.....

I was just looking at SharkByte's screen captures again, and it looks like Teresa has been practicing the white-around-the-eyes look with Don Porfi!

Had to miss tonight's episode; hope to catch it tomorrow on the interwebs.
