Alborada, 8/15/2011. Cap. 54.
On YouTube, haguilar78's clips for Cap 54 start at this link.
Thank you, Carlos, for today's picture. If we can't have a Luis/Hipo embrace, at least we get a Luis/Diego "embrace"!
Paula's caption: Don't make me tell you again! If we dance, I get to lead!

Why is Diego stupid enough to tangle with Luis, he is always on the losing end. One of the reasons he hates him, in addition to his & Juana's charade.

"But the gingham dog and the calico cat
Wallowed this way and tumbled that,
Employing every tooth and claw
In the awfullest way you ever saw---
And, oh! how the gingham and calico flew!
(Don't fancy I exaggerate---
I got my news from the Chinese plate!)
Oh well, I have some idea of what happened by my search for pictures.

I'm guessing that DirecTV somehow managed to screw things up. I'm setting the TIVO to record the following hour tomorrow just in case.

Well anyway, Friday's screen capture was excellent and I enjoyed the discussion that went along with it.
Today's is great too. I'll comment some more after I watch the episode thanks to Paula's links.
I can't believe that Antonio continues to throw his lot in with Diego after seeing how truly slimy and incompetent Diego is. Even his friend has backed off.
I LOL when Diego asked Antonio to come back to the palace for an "encounter"...knocking swords. After his encounter knocking boots with Perla, I am more confused than ever about Antonio's inclinations.
Sylvia, I see that you had a similar experience. WTF happened?
Carlos
There goes our Hipolita, looking for work again. That lady doesn't shy away from trying to fend for herself.
Vivi, I too am surprised that Antonio is still hanging out with Diego. Maybe he feels he has to because they are partners in the vanilla plantation?
From watching Diego do his mincing and prancing, I can't help but think that he is more efeminado than Antonio. And Antonio seems to be getting over it pretty well with Perla's ministrations. And, having Diego describe Toni's feelings for Hipolita as something one would have for a sister bugged him.
I agree with Sylvia re Antonio hanging out with Diego. The investment in the vanilla plantation is important. I think he has seen how volatile Diego can be with business affairs and he doesn't want to risk losing the investment.
Furthermore, there aren't too many eligible men (as in his social level) to fraternize with in Cuencas. His BBF Rodrigo left. He doesn't trust Luis after all the garbage he's been fed--and the fact that he boinked his wife (regardless of the circumstances)and it bugs him that Luis still wants Hipo. Don Francisco is too old and everyone else is either a servant or on Team Luis.
