Today's episode is covered in Melinama's Recap #23b, Thursday segment, at this link.

Marvelous picture today, Carlos. Thank you.

Carlos's caption: Felipe was right... the pink nail polish was a bad idea.

Thanks to the Alborada team of Paula and Carlos.

What an evil fascination with fire. Can we forma a line of those willing to kiss the burnt fingers? What a great telenovela. every minute is worth an hour of a lesser show.

Luis Manrique says: Remember, only YOU can prevent party fires.

"Felipe was right... the pink nail polish was a bad idea."

Carlos - qué chistoso eres! Pink polish, indeed. I liked the picture alot....now, not so much. :)

The show is moving too fast; I don't want it to be over.
Each episode I change my mind as to who might kill Diego - (I don't know that he dies - this is my 1st time to see Alborada).

Maybe Perla does have a heart of gold. She seemed genuine in her concern for Antonio.

Enjoying Luis more every day.

Sorry, Madd Marley. Your caption was good, but Carlos's had me rolling!

I've been thinking about another thread runnning through this TN.

The sins of the fathers shall be visited upon the children.

1. Andrés is afraid to marry Marina, for fear that he will become embittered against her, like his father is against Asunción.

2. Hipo has been afraid to accept Antonio's offer, for fear that he will reject Rafael, just like Francisco rejected her. But she's also afraid to NOT be in a marriage, for fear that Rafael will have the stigma of a bastard like she did.

3. Luis refuses to take Rafael from Hipo for many reasons, including that he cannot rob his son of a loving mother, like he never had.

4. Asunción keeps pushing Hipo back to Antonio from fear that Hipo will repeat the miserable life that Asunción has.

5. Catalina was afraid to marry Cristobal because she thought he was doing it out of obligation or pity, and she didn't want to be married to a husband who didn't love her, like her mother.

HA...ROFLMAO... I don't know what I love more...Luis's beautiful face or our Carlos's caption ! Carlos~~~I love your wit, you rascal you. I can't top that caption, but I'd really like Luis to be saying '' Ahhh...This morning , after our noche de amor, Susanlynn mentionned how much she admired my strong, manly, yet graceful hands.'' A girl can dream, can't she ? But...I admit that your caption was much better, mi amigo Carlos.

Hey all, what a super episode with the party, all the great costumes, and a sulking Luis, sigh...

I enjoyed everyone's captions, Carlos, Mad Marley and Susanlynn. Good stuff. Mad, yours was appropriately bittersweet considering Luis's parents perished in a party fire.

I laughed at the comment about the guests chipping all the chamber pots at the last party.

Paula, you discuss a very interesting theme. Nature vs Nurture or how does socialization affect our innate tendencies? It will be fun to see how this plays out. Number 5 on your list has turned out positively so far.

The Rubenesque widow looked familiar. Was she in Las Tontas?

Paula and Carlos, thank you!

LOL Carlos! I love it.

Why didn't Luis go over to Hip's place as soon as he heard Antonio had arrived at the party without her? Wouldn't that have given him more alone time with Hip?

Yes Sylvia, the chubby widow with the twin boys was in Tontas and Sortilegio-- In Tontas as one of Candi's amigas Lulu, and in Sorti as Alex's efficient secretary Mari.

All of Luis' peeps are in the right track that Luis is not Juana's kids and that there must have been some kind of baby switch. But why can't someone make the next logical conclusion that the switch was between Luis and Diego (whom the all admit she treats well)? And not Luis and some other baby (who the assume was the "real" Luis)? They have been great at making these leaps of logic, why is this so difficult?

I enjoyed this episode... especially the party, though like the archbishop, I wasn't too impressed with the lady's singing... or maybe it was her choice of songs. I also loved the way the archbishop scowled at the ladies with the see-through skirts twirling ribbons outside the palace.

It seemed odd to me that Cristobal and Cata were invited to Diego's party. I guess people didn't hold grudges for long in those days.

So Antonio attended a bacchanal with naked boys? I wonder why he didn't tell Hipólita that part of his story?

And the dwarf spoke!

I hope that Vicky eventually gets to kill Gasca.

Urban A,

"How do you get those screenshots?"

haigular78 clips are great quality, I just pause and capture the screen image. I use an Apple laptop... press shift/command/4 together, use the result of that to frame and capture the picture. I'm not sure how you do it on a PC, though. Hombre de Misterio is an expert. He's the one who taught me.

Loved the picture and especially the caption!

Lucrecia from La Fuerza also made an appearance at the party. So far quite a few people that went on to bigger parts seem to start out in this TN.

Working from home today and just put on the tv. MEPS is on and I'm admiring what a great cold villain Lucero was as Barara Greco. Lucero must have had such fun in that role.

I heard Lucero interviewed once, can't remember where, and she said not only did she have fun with the role but it is one that people remember. She was visiting Jerusalem and she heard someone say "Barbara Greco". She thought what a coincidence it was that someone would have that name so she turned to look. A woman was excitedly pointing at her inquiring "Barbara Greco? Barbara Greco?"

Great Lucero story, Sylvia!

About Diego's widow choice. In Tontas, that actress's character Lulu had one of the funniest scenes in the series.

Jorge Flores, the vidente, walks through the reception area and out the door. Lulu the receptionist gets all excited. She's talking to Santiago, played by Jaime Camil (who played Don Fernando in Fea).

Lulu: That’s Jorge Flores.
Santi: Who?
Lulu: from La fea más bella.
Santi: Huh?
Lulu: Con el muchacho GUAPISIMO, se llama Don Fernando.
Santi (points at JF): That’s Don Fernando?
Lulu: No, no, Don Fernando is..
Santi: I don’t care. I don’t bother with telenovelas.

Now that I have actually seen La Fea that scene is much funnier. I remember when it aired everyone thought it was such a scream. I got it, but didn't really GET it if you know what I mean.

Sylvia, the other hilarious spot was when Santi's old buddy Mario showed up (Agie Arana who played Omar in Fea) at Santi's office after having lived in the US for many years. Mario and Santi walk into Santi's office together and dive for the chair. It's another scene that wouldn't make sense had you not seen Fea.
