Cuando Me Enamoro #78 Friday 8/5/11 Investigation, Jubilation, and Possible Ruination

Skipping the overhang from yesterday, Nata and Jero anguish in their respective bedrooms. Jero still loves Nata and it kills him to not have her. Nata cries that it hurts her so much to love Jero; it has to end. She wants Jero out of her life once and for all.

Matias and Adriana slog through mountains of paperwork at the office. They take a break and get down to gossip. Adriana asks Mat what he's going to do now that Berta has lost her baby. Especially since it could have been either his or Jero's. Mat wants a divorce but not until the time is right. It would look pretty bad if they got divorced immediately after the miscarriage. Berta calls Mat a prince for sacrificing so much for his family. She wishes she had a guy like him in her life. Mat is flattered.

Gonzo has Regina on his mind and there's nothing he can do to stop it. Not that he wants to. He loves Regina and desperately wants to see her. Beth the Secretary interrupts his daydreaming because he's expected at a meeting.

Cata and Ines wave to Andrecito and Isidro through the hospital window. He gets to go home tomorrow! Ines asks Cata to help her make some sweets that Andrecito likes so much. Of course, she'll be over to help tonight. Ines thinks that tonight will be Regina's opportunity to be alone with Gonzo.

Antonio meets Regi at a café. Regi has made a decision. The love between them has faded. At least it has from her end of the relationship. She tried to love him - she really did! But she just can't do it. Tony asks Regi who she does love, though he already knows the answer. Regi says that it is none of Tony's business. She tried to make it work but everything fell through. Sorry, Tony, it's over. Tony tears up as he takes the ring back.

Back at La Bonita, Jero congratulates Matilde and Carlos on their engagement. Mati still says there's no guy more handsome than Jero. Carlos teases that he's grateful that love is blind. Carlos and Jero sneak off into the office so Jero can read the autopsy results. Jero is astounded. "This mean that my brother didn't commit suicide?! Rafael was murdered!"

Everyone at Empresas Monterrubio is at a meeting. The books still won't cook. Adriana remembers an investment they made in boats that were supposedly owned by the company but actually aren't. Gonzo is sure that Blanca was behind it. Honorio hangs his head. Gonzo wants a full-scale investigation started on any account Blanca so much as breathed on.

Carlos says that the report means that the bullet that shot Rafa had to have come from another person. Jero is determined to find out who did it and make him/her pay. He can't sit still he's so worked up over Rafa's murder. Jero knew he Rafa wouldn't have killed himself! Jero thinks Roberta might have been the shooter. She came to give dump him, gave him the letter, and then killed him! Carlos thinks it might have been Agustin. He hated Rafa and wanted his vineyard. They also suspect Doc Vodka was complicit in Rafa's death.

Nata tells Constanza that the next morning she has an appointment with a divorce lawyer. Coni has noticed that Augie has feelings for Nata. What does Nata feel for him? Nata can't open her heart to another guy right now. She's still healing. But she is done with Jero for good. There is just too much distrust between them. Coni can relate because of her problems with Honorio.

Now it's Nata's turn to ask how Coni feels about her guy-in-waiting. Coni still isn't sure how she feels about Chema; she just likes spending time with him because he makes her feel alive. Despite their differences, they still have a lot in common. Nata feels the same way about Augie but it is not love. Coni thinks it could be love eventually. Giving it a chance would be better than closing the door to love forever.

All Empresa employees pour over the files to search for discrepancies. Daniel texts Blanca information about what's going on. She calls Honorio to tease him. "Want to go on a boat ride, mi amor?" Enough playing games! Honorio could have her arrested for what she's done to the company - fraud, money laundering, and certainly other crimes they haven't found out about yet.

Honorio suddenly remembers Blanca having given him the boat account and he trusted her enough to sign it without reading it. He looks like he is about to be sick. Blanca is less than worried by Hon's threats. She just wants to get him in her bed. Hon hangs up and fumes that Blanca set him up.

Jero asks the La Bonita employees if they saw anyone on the grounds the day Rafa died. No one knows but Manuela suspects that Augie and Doc Vodka were in it together. Mati hopes Karina will be free from the Doc forever now. Jero asks them to keep quiet about the investigation.

Augie gets home to find Selene waiting in his bed. They lock lips.

Antonio foams at the mouth over Regina breaking up with him. "I can't let you to shut me out of your life! I have to find your daughter so you will have to come back to me." Tony has the emotional maturity of a 16 year old.

Gonzo arrives at Regina's place. It worries Regi that both of Gonzo's daughters hate her so much. Not only does it upset his daughters but it also causes a barrier between herself and Gonzo. Regi knows that Gonzo's marriage is a farce. She has finally listened to her heart: She loves Gonzo.

Gonzo is over the moon. His feelings for Regi never stopped. She tells him she broke it off with Tony. Regi is free to love the man who truly owns her heart. She kisses him and Gonzo passionately kisses back.

Fina gets home from the hospital to pick up some clothes for Berta. She calls Gustavo (?) and admits that she is Pepa. He says he wants money - lots and lots of money. He has proof that one of her daughters isn't really hers. Fina nervously agrees to pay handsomely for the documents that could incriminate her.

Doctora Marina checks in on Berta, who is doing better. She asks Berta about Jero having asked for a DNA test on the baby. Marina didn't tell Jero that the baby was lost weeks ago but if Berta's husband asks about the miscarriage, Doc has to tell him the truth.

Regi leads Gonzo into her bedroom. The lights go out and we see their silhouettes kiss.

Augie texts Nata a goodnight message while in bed with Selene. Nata lays down in bed and remembers cuddling with Jero after his accident. She has to rebuild herself and move on. Meanwhile, Jero jolts awake from a nightmare. "Rafa's death was a murder, Renata. None of this should have happened." He writhes about how wrong he was. He hopes everything gets resolved soon - for Rafa's sake and for Nata's.

Selene is spitting mad that Augie is texting Nata. He's supposed to be with her. Augie doesn't get why Sele is in such a snit. Their relationship is about sex and nothing more. Sele can't believe she fell for a guy who behaves the same way Berta does - a total user. Augie says he would like to meet Berta.

Berta has nothing nice to say to Fina when she arrives with fresh clothes. It's still Fina's fault she lost the baby in the first place. Berta is starting to hate Fina; she is destroying Berta's life. Fina looks hurt for a moment. Well, as hurt as a woman who has no heart can look.

Gonzo and Regina are all smiles and giggles as she shows him to the door. He promises to have a word with Nata so that she'll agree to have a talk with Regi. They kiss and are both lost in love with each other. Yay!

Adriana and Matias are asleep in each others arms on the couch. Aww. They both zonked out while working overtime on the file search. Adri loves being by Mat's side and he's pretty happy about it too. Honorio brings them some coffee and they detach themselves.

Gonzo calls Mat for an update. Mat says the company is in worse condition than they thought. Gonzo is all rainbows and sunshine. "Don't worry about it! Everything will work out!" Mat's puzzled by Gonzo's good cheer.

Regina dreams of her encounter with Gonzo but Cata knocks on the door and interrupts. Regi gets a text from Gonzo. He loves her, it was the best night of his life, etc. Regina doesn't mention the text to Cata but she does tell Mami Dearest that she broke up with Tony. Regi isn't in love with him. Nothing is going to change her mind. Cata is left stuttering in shock.

Nata tells the lawyer that she wants a divorce because of irreconcilable differences. The lawyer says all she needs to do is have the papers delivered to Jero and then set up an appointment. Augie enthusiastically shakes the lawyer's hand like he just won the lottery. Nata isn't so excited.

Chema tip-toes into the centro kitchen and surprises Coni. He understands that she still has Honorio on her mind but he still wants to show her a good time. Chema leads her out for a secret date.

Cata refuses to talk to Regina during breakfast. Regi explains her reasons again. Cata is disappointed in Regi for fooling around with a married man.

Tony asks Detective Cantu is Pepa and Fina are the same person. Cantu thinks so but he needs more time to get the proof he needs to accuse Fina. Tony promises to keep Gonzo out of the investigation because of his connection to Fina. He wants nothing more than to unmask Fina and return Regina's daughter to her so that Regi will be his once again.

Fina is all sugary sweetness and light to Dr. Marina. The Doc sees right through it. She hopes they never see each other again because she will not lie for her patients. Marina is offended when Fina offers to pay for her trouble. Hooray! A doctor who has some integrity in this show!

Ines is thrilled to hear about Regina's success with Gonzo. Regi doesn't like that Gonzo is still married but Ines assures her that it is only a marriage on paper. Fina and Roberta walk down the hallway just in time for Ines to catch a glimpse. Regi rushes over to see them but they've already gone. She's curious to see what Fina looks like. It feels strange for Regi to be the other woman.

Nata tells Augie that it is difficult for her to "break the picture" - end the dream of having a house, 2.5 kids, and a white picket fence with Jero. Augie suggests that Nata could find another man to share that with her. He promises to do everything he can to make her divorce as painless as possible. Augie will always be by her side.

Jero and Carlos go to the police to accuse Agustin and Roberta of the murder of Rafael.

Avances: Jero watches as Augie gets arrested. The police haul Roberta off to jail and it drives Fina over the edge.

delito - crime
barrera - barrier, wall
hundir - to sink
decepcionada - disappointed

Oh Hurray, Thanks so much Flor/Amy for this quick and so complete recap. Tonight was so interesting with such highs and lows. I appreciate the rapid recap so we can talk about it all weekend. HA. The title is perfect!

The pushy people are getting pushier and more controling. Now we have to worry about Antonio thinking Gonzo is a bull to be taken by the horns and Fina is about to lose her last inhibition. Regina turning down Antonio and telling him her life was her concern and lovely Doctora Marina telling Fina she wasn't for sale were great moments. Likewise Augie letting Selene know she was just a sex break not an important person to be making demands.

The only thing missing is Renata telling Augie to back off and let her make her own decisions. I fear she has been so badly treated she is taking this directing/controling inclination as kindness and concern. iccckky.

And whoopee, am I excited about the episode I get on Monday: lots of trouble for lots of rotten characters. But, I am glad you got lots of sweetness tonight. Gonzo and Regina are now a unit and so are Matias and Adriana and Matilde has suddenly gained 50 IQ points so she can react like a grownup and is so sweet to Carlos I can feel okay about his choice.

Last morning in the mountains -- and you got this recap up so fast I can savor it as I pack up.

Great title. Things are certainly set up for some investigation & the start of ruination --the good -- ruination of Fina, the bad -- ruination (temporarily) of Honorio, and the ugly -- the shredded lives of everyone in Fina's path until she meets her end. As for the jubilation --right on Gonzo and Regina!

Augustin's presence in the divorce lawyer's office almost caused me to lose my dinner. I'm afraid Renata is in for a lot more grief from him before this is over.

Gonzo and Regina: Great development and excellent payback to Fina/Pepa, along with the doctor who can't be bought off. Karmageddon is beginning for her and I hope there will be other steps before the boom is finally lowered.

Amy- Jubilation indeed. Yay for Gina and Gonzo! I was not expecting them to go that far. And I wasn't expecting her to dump Tony just like that. When Gina makes up her mind, she doesn't do things half way. I'm liking this new Gina.

She pointed out the irony of once being the wife when her husband had another woman, and now she is the other woman to some woman's husband. It's even more ironic that the same two women are involved, and she doesn't even know it.

I also gave mental high fives to Adri last night, who was totally making the moves on Matias every chance she got. I think it's starting to take effect and Hon totally interrupted an almost kiss. Keep at it Adri! You and Gina need to liberate the MR men from the dreaded FinaBerta Monster.

Yay for the pretty doctor that can't be bought. Nice to know that Jero's (likely) rebound girl will be a good person. Now if only we could find someone equally as nice for Nata to rebound with. That Augie makes my skin crawl more each time he's on screen. Loved how he told Selene they were just about sex, so back off. Not loving that he wants to meet his supposed other half, Berta. Yuck!

Relaxing Saturday morning before Part 1 of packing one son off to college. (Sniff sniff). What a fun episode last night, I couldn't wait to read your snappy recap and remember it all over again.

I admit it, I felt like Gonzo last night, grinning like a kid from the moment Regi dumped Mr. Expressionless to, and I was surprised it happened so fast, she not only told Gonzo she loved him, but...well we all remember. So cool! Of course, they better enjoy the bliss because we know that won't last if Fina and Toni have their way.

I agree Cheryl, Toni is now going to be pushier and possibly more desperate in his actions, to get Gina back. Love how there are always those characters that think they can manipulate someone to love them. Ick!

And speaking of which - boy Selene gave Augie her best stalker outrage last night. For an ever so brief moment, I actually enjoyed Augie & the way he was totally unfazed by her and wouldn't cave to her rantings. Interesting he wants to meet Berta -- now there's a match!I doubt Selene will go quietly into that good night.

Love Adri and Mat sleep scene--more please.

And Chema may be young and we all want Hon and Coni back together, but dang...Some of the men in this TN are so controlling or clueless, at least he's there for Coni and he makes her smile while Hon realizes what a dumb-ass he was with Blanca. ( He was- who signs anything in business without looking, didn't check references, etc?) Hon and Coni will find their way back to each other, but, I'm sorry, I'm not hating the Con/Chema hook-up right now.We always have these side-tracks - at least Coni has someone who is treating her well.

Cannot wait for Monday - so what they have the wrong people - will just be fun to watch them have that moment of not being in control. And watching Fina go off the deep end as everything starts unraveling - oooohhhh, such fun.

Hope everyone has a great weekend. Guera enjoy your last day in the mountains - so jealous!!

Amy: LOVE the title! Absolutely perfect!! Thank you, too, for the always appreciated vocab. :))

Regina Rocks!!! I was thrilled at her take charge attitude on all counts last night! ...and Gonzo with that grin...oh my, I was grinning from ear to ear, too!

Dona Cata of the Big Hair needs to open her eyes. While I fully understand that any mother would not approve of a daughter involved with a married man, she needs to see what kind of a wimp and loser Tony The Toreador really is. Such an expressionless face on Tony...I find myself wanting to slap it just to get some kind of response!

Cheryl: Agree that Matilde found some long lost IQ points. Nonetheless, she has still treated Nata very badly and without one iota of respect. It remains to be seen how she will treat Nata once she returns. Did I hear Matilde correctly last night say to Jero that once she realised that Jero didn't have eyes for her, she decided that Carlos was 'ok'? I know she said something about Jero not having eyes for her, but how did she finish off that statement?

Also...in the conversation between Stanza and Nata...when Stanza told Nata that maybe her friendship with Auggie Doggie could grow into something else, Nata mumbled something in response. I did not hear that response. Could someone please clarify for me?

We still don't know why Batty Blanca showed up on the scene in the first place. Was Hon a random mark or was there some other connection that brought her to the Monterubio business? She has made no connection with Fina as far as we know, so why is Batty Blanca really here?

Susanita

Go Gina! I was surprised at her not wasting any time with Gonzo. She has always seemed so proper so I was expecting more of them together getting to know each other before they knocked boots.

Same with Sele, she wasted no time either in bumping uglies with Auggie.

Monday looks like it'll be fun with Fina assuring her lackey that her daughter is innocent.

Amy, masterfully done. The first thing I looked for this morning was your recap. My favorite line:

"Hooray! A doctor who has some integrity in this show!"

Warms my heart.

Wow, once she made up her mind, Regina didn't waste any time. Her handling of Antonio was perfection. Her handling of Gonzo was... ummm... focused.

My complaint (other than the fact that he is... still married!)
is that she didn't mention one word of what she knew of Roberta's earlier hospital visit. I know... she was goal-oriented.

Susanita, it grieves me that you are not more of a Matilde fan. I guarantee, the next time she's with Renata, she will be not only respectful, but likely effusively apologetic.

Here's what she said last night:

"Bueno, como Ud. no tuvo ojos para mi, pues... bueno, los puse yo en uno más hermoso que Ud."

"Well, since you didn't have eyes for me, umm... well, I set mine on one even more beautiful than you."

Awwww...

Carlos

Amy! Thank you! The title is perfect! I LOVED this episode:

Yesterday I said I hoped that Regina would confess her love for Gonzo because of her declaration of independence and not only did she do that, she supplied the firewordks as well!! I think Gonzo was as surprised as I was! It's okay that there was no wining and dining: Regina had found the man she truly loved and after 25 years of celibacy. . .and Gonzo hasn't exactly been aboard the love boat himself! It's ok they didn't show us, but it must've been spe-ciiaaaaal!

I loved Gonzo in afterglow, too! That comic relief of Gonzo's reaction to Matt's doom and gloom call about the financial crisis was unexpected and finely woven into the story line. That's the way you do it, not by having some characters who are designated clowns!

You guys nailed it about stalker Selene! She knoweth not who she stalketh! I also thought it was funny how Auggie was unaffected by her tirade, told her off without a hint of anger and then was intrigued by her suggestion that he was just like Roberta and that they should meet!

And poor Renata! My Gosh! Honey, can't you see you're being marginalized, insulted and managed! It's like she's hypnotized! Look at her expression at the lawyer's office. It's like she's thinking that she's felt this way before but it doesn't match with the kind and supportive friend she THINKS Auggie is, so she was cofused. Pobrecita de Renata!

Whomever feared Tony would go to the dark side, I think this has been confirmed: he's going to use the results of his investigation to blackmail Regina back into his arms. I also think he's going to try to implicate Gonzo in the kidnap of Renata so maybe Gonzo may be next in line for false accusation: La Mentira!

Lovin' the Doctor, yaaay Doc Carlos, one for your side and ethical Docs everywhere!

LOVED EVERY MINUTE! Thank you again!

Lila

I know Pepa/Fina didn't know Gonzo when she stole Regina/Renata, but I think he may try to say Gonzo knew and is an accomplice. I just can't see Tony NOT trying to really hurt Gonzo more than taking Regina away would.

Lila

Great recap Amy! Loved the title.

Thanks everyone, for the warm welcome yesterday!

Wow, go Regina! It may take her a while, but when she makes a decision, she doesn't look back. And ITA, Susanita, Dona Cata needs to back off. Her daughter - a grown woman, btw - has suffered a lot in life, with the loss of her husband and daughter and her years of searching. Why would she want to deny Regina a little happiness and condemn her to a life of gray subjugation with a controlling sad sack like Tony, whose idea of showing her a good time is letting her sit in the stands while he proves his machismo in front of a bull?

The stalkerific tendencies on this show are through the roof, from the sleazy (Auggie) to the misguided-but-good-hearted (Chema) to the just plain insane (Selena, Blanca).

You're right, Vivi. Adri was totally flirting with Matias. And the coy looks he was giving her were a lot more meaningful than the usual I'm-grateful-for-your-friendship smiles he was giving her before. I like those two together.

Poor Renata, at this rate, everyone is getting more action than she is, even her step-dad and bio-mom!

Juan Miguel

A nifty word I heard in last night's show:

Matilde said that Carlos made her feel apapachada (spoiled, pampered)

I know...

Carlos

Welcome Juan Miguel. I'm so glad that you've joined our study group. I would have loved to hear your critique of the several affected Spanish accents we had in Llena de Amor.

May I add Doofus Daniel to your stalker list?

Carlos

Flores, brava! Great read and you touched all the points, not just the important ones.

Well I was wrong about Cata hanging around. Looks like Regie had it all planned out in advance. And I was wrong about a confrontation between Gonzo and Tonio. (That was a relief, after watching the slow build up to the duel between Cristobal and Diego over on Alborada.)

Yes, Matias is a prince among men. He and Adri certainly looked cozy on the couch.

It didn't take Selene long (two encounters) to think she owns Auggie from his well-coiffed cabellos down to his probably well-groomed toe nails.

Gustavo had better watch his front (Fina with a gun or a knife) or his drinks (poison drops) for some time to come.

Anybody need to guess who just made it to the top of Fina's hit list?

I just can't see how Fina has any time to properly plan any homicides, especially if her hija consentida is arrested on Monday. Talk about BSC, this will undoubtedly be it. Gee, maybe Jeronimo will move up to second place on her list.

Guera--Love your good, bad, ugly references. Right on. Sounds like you really enjoyed your misty mountain-lake retreat. Back to the real world and CME in full color.

I agree with the Juan Miguel (are you a galan, by any chance?) et al about Cata's needing to back off and let her daughter find her own happiness. Cata, though, comes from an older generation, and although there were a lot of cuernos being worn by men and women, you avoided scandal at all cost. Or, your upbringing did not permit that kind of behavior (see FdD).

Cata at least, has been level-headed in her arguments trying to persuade Gina not to get tangled up with a married Gonzo. At least we don't have an over-the-top, screaming banshee ready to throw Gina out of the house (well, it's Gina's house, but you know what I mean).

Can't wait to see Berta spend some time in the hoosegow.

I wonder if Nata will try to comfort Berta or confront her. What will she think of Jero after the arrest of the one person from Ensenada who gave her a shoulder to lean on. Will it be one more item in her bag of stuff of why she should hate him. Auggie is sure to deny culpability.
NOK

Carlos, thank you for the welcome. Unfortunately, I missed Llena de Amor, but I am enjoying the gamut of accents on La Pola. There are a lot of Castilian, Columbian, and even some Mexican accents in that TN (as well as great acting and story).

When I first came here, on top of learning English, I loved listening to all the Spanish accents one typically finds in Southern California (Mexican from all over Mexico, Cuban, Puerto Rican, etc).

On CME, I think it's funny that Jero plays a native Mexican who mostly lived in Spain but has a slight Argentine accent, and his rival Augustin plays a Mexican, but has a Castilian accent.

As for Doofus Daniel (*lol*), talk about throwing everything away simply becasue of despecho over Adri's rejection!

And NOK: Hello! *bows* I would definitely like to consider myself a galan *lol*

Juan Miguel

(P.S. word verification "awbrat" as in what Matilde no longer is)

Susanita- Here is the conversation between Connie and Renata.

C: Hija. It's obvious that Agustin is interested in you. But you, what do feel for him?
R: Tia. It's really soon to be talking about that kind of thing. If it were an option, obviously I would open up my heart to him, but...
C: But you're saying that the break-up between you and Jero is definitive?
R: Yes. Yes. It's time to put an end to this relationship. We have done so much harm to each other. There is so much distrust between us. I feel as if an abyss has opened up between me and Jero.
C: That's exactly what happend between me and Hon. Something very important has been broken. Something that we won't be able to put glue back together.
R: And Chema? What do you feel for him?
C: I don't know yet. But with him, I feel full of life. I see things from another point of view. And that makes me feel good.
R: Good. But that's not love.
C: (shakes head no) But it's too soon to speak of love. But with Chema, despite the age difference, we have so much in common. We have many affinities, we get along really well.
R: That's exactly like me and Augustin. But, I know that that is not love.
C: But it could become love. One should at least try. It's better than keeping the door closed to love forever.
R: (sighs and shakes head)

Juan Miguel! Welcome! I have a question, if you don't mind: Did listening to tv or radio here in America aid you in you quest to learn English? The underlying question here is do you think mostly passive exercises (like listening to novelas) actually aid learning a second language? It's the closest I'll probably get to immersion and I know it's not the same, but it sure is fun! Glad you came out of lurkdom!

Lila

Lila,

Definitely, passive learning, like just keeping a radio or TV on aids in learning a language; at least for me it did. (OTOH, it never helped my mom, who to this day does not speak a word of English! *lol*) Now, I came over here at a pretty young age, and immersion for kids is so much faster, but your mind is always picking up words even in the background and soon you find you understand words that you never remembered consciously studying.

BTW, Lila, I have always enjoyed your "rants." So passionate, so insightful!

Juan Miguel

Thank you Juan Miguel for the advice and the compliment, you are very kind. I took Spanish years ago, even getting up into "300" level courses at my humble alma mater and even took a Spanish linguistics course but yea, it lay fallow over many years until -- dah, dah, dah, daaaah! I discovered novelas back in the early 80s --I probably speak better than I think but am always embarrased to talk to anyone really fluent (even my own Daughter! so I sympathize with your Mom!) Oh well, maybe this is the role Spanish is meant to play in my life and, I repeat, it's lots of fun! I love romance languages and understand enough Portuguese to watch novelas on Globo. I ramble. . .welcome and hope you give us your take on these mahvelous stories often!

Lila

Amy what a wonderful recap and thank you.

So BSC set up Hon as embezzling from the company. I wonder how much this will effect the company?

Adriana and Matias were so cute sleeping on the sofa together.

Regina gives Antonio the heave ho and tells not to worry or be interested in who she is in love with. Boy she didn't waste any time in dumping him

The hookup between her and Gonzo were needed for these two lonely characters and hooray. I loved how happy and worry free Gonzo was the next day as Matias told him about how serious the situation was when they discovered the money missing.

Antonio you don't control a person even if you do find their long lost daughter.

Stalking Selene just can't win with men can she?

When i watch Renata's reaction to how Auggie acts or says something not appropriate i don't believe she will fall for him at all. I think they will have to bring in someone new for Renata.

So the noose is tightening on Fina. Antonio and is investigator suspect she is Pepa. Antonio is going to find a way to implicate that Gonzo knew this in someway i believe.

Gustavo her old lover is blackmailing her with the knowledge he knows one of her daughters is not really hers.

The good Dr. told Roberta that she didn't disclose her personal info to Jerko but if her husband asks the same question she can tell him the truth.

Jerko discovers that Rafael was murdered. Suspects are Roberta,Auggie and Dr. Nesnasty.

Previews the cops arrest Auggie and Roberta i didn't see any going to get Dr. Vodka but i'm sure we'll see that. Renata confronts Roberta behind bars if she really did kill Rafael?

Vivi: Thank you so much for that detailed conversation between Nata and Stanza. I got the beginning, but missed the ending. What a relief that she is so not into Augie Doggie!!! Thank you, Vivi!!

Muy estimado Dr. Carlos...you have to understand that I dearly love our Nata! Your Matilde's out and out rudeness to Nata really did bother me. I can take childish to a point, but Matilde was over the top.

Now that she has her own galan, she seems to be turning the proverbial corner!! :))

Thank you so much for that translation of what she told Jero. For a moment there, I was thinking that Matilde was thinking she was pretty hot stuff!

Of course, I have to wait for this moment when she sees Nata again. Will her attitude toward her change only because Jero has recognised the error of his ways or will it be genuine.

You'd better hope your Matilde is the genuine article, Mister!!!

Susanita

Carlos, Also Andrecito used apapachar, the verb form to instruct papa Isidro to pamper mami while he was undergoing the bone marrow transplant. Saying it outloud is like your lips pat each other several times. It is fun to say and hear. it seems to be a kind of onomatopoeia in that it feels on your lips the way it might if someone patted your back to pamper or cuddle you.

Cheryl! That is a lovely word, isn't it? What a great observation! Kinda like amamantar - to breast feed!

On another note, seems like the conversation has slowed down: I know Saturday is so busy with family, friends, relaxation, and yes, work. . .but I wonder, do we like it better when the baddies are wreaking havoc and eeevil reigns vs. the fulfillment of long-smoldering desire, the end of romantic/sexual dry spells and the beginning of payback?

Lila

Lila- I disappeared yesterday because I was out on a date and detached from my laptop and Blackberry. It would have been really rude of me to start messaging the Caray gang while my date wasn't looking. LOL! :)

I also love the word apapachar. I hope Gonzo and Gina get a chace to apapachar each other a lot without the interference of Fina and Toni.

By the way, I saw Captain America, a good super hero flick. The main actress/love interest in that is a British actress Hayley Atwell. The way she is made up in 40s hair and makeup, looks just like the actress in the tn I see advertised Dona Bella. I had to do a double take because they look so much alike.

How evocative that amamantar and apapachar have mama and papa in the middle. I think I've read that mama does come from the mouths of babes so to speak.

Vivi, It sounds lovely that you had a date and I'm so glad you didn't offend by CarayCaraying. Now that's a verb isn't it?

I went to the Watermelon Gallery's opening of my photographer friend, Dennis Chamberlain for my Saturday culture moment. My special feature month won't be until next June, but I picked it so I can print and procrastinate more, lots more of both! Ha. Check out watermelongallery.com

Wow Cheryl and Vivi, great fun on both counts! That is cool with those two verbs Cheryl. And, er, good call Vivi on not keeping up with the blog while on the date LOL! In terms of Gina and Gonzo, I just hope if he is falsely implicated as an accomplice in concealing the kidnap of Renata that she doesn't believe it! I like them together and I like their theme song. Hey! Why don't I look it up in Google! If anyone knows who does the mid-century "Cuando me Enamoro" (which somehow has an Italian feel to me), let me know!

Lila

Wow! I found it!

Andrea Bocelli Live - Cuando Me Enamoro (2006) Don't know when it was written but this version, recorded live, is obviously NOT mid-century. And yes, there is an Italian flavor: Quando m'innamoro Ah, love Google! Love this song! Long live Regina an Gonzo!

Hi everyone!
I am in the do not like Matilde camp. Sorry but she was such a b---tch before and Carlos is so nice he really deserves someone that truly loves him. I get the feeling she settled for Carlos. I think something interesting is going to happen between Augie and Berta. He already made that comment about getting to know her and now they will both be accused of the same murder. They will either end up hooking up or both on a quest to get Jero. I keep thinking about the scenes during the song at the beginning where Berta has that beautiful smile and they at the vineyards. How will we evr get to that point?

I live in Miami where there are Latinos from everywhere and also love the different accents. My favorite accent is Columbian. They speak a very elegant Spanish. Right now there's a guy at our house doing some computer stuff with mu husband and right away I asked him if he was Venezuelan because everything for him is "chevere".

Two of my grandparents were born in Spain. My grandfather kept his accent until he died even though he left Spain in the early 1900's!!!! I laughed a little at the Llena De Amor accents. They weren't very good.

Hi Chuchi,

OK... so what's it gonna take to win you over to Team Matilde? She is certainly cheeky and apapachada (gee I like that word), but she is always honest and up front. The only sneaky thing she has done (that I can recall) was to spice up Carlos' eggs with habañeros, and that was sort of good-natured hazing.

I cannot imagine her "just settling". Don't forget the Matilde Curse... I'm pretty sure that we all saw chemistry between the two of them from the beginning.

Someone else has offered that one of the reasons that she fixated on Jerry is because he was unattainable. I think that most of her animosity toward Renata is because of Jerry's hate. She adored Rafa, and if Jerry was convinced that Renata was responsible for his death... hey, good enough for her.

I've no doubt that very soon you, Susanita, and others still not fond of Matilde will have a change of heart.

I'm no Jerry fan... good that he knows that he was wrong about Renata... now I just want him to go away, but I'm afraid that Matilde will be key to convincing her giving Jerry yet another chance.

Cheryl, I love your take on apapachar... and Lila, your comparison to amamantar. Sweet.

Carlos

Hi, Chuchi! Welcome! Interesting theory about Roberta and Auggie. I was certainly thinking of them "hooking up" but I never thought of them doing so for eeevil purposes. I think you're right. He could certainly do some damage while still pretending to have Renata's interests at heart. There's enough time for all kinds of shenanigans.

Thanks for your take on the Llena accents, it was pretty funny for me, too so it must have been hilarious for you!!! I have a friend from St. Croix who has been here for 35 years and her accent is as thick as ever: she even gets angry with her children because they have long lost theirs! Some people seem more "susceptible" to picking up accents in their environment and maybe some people resist doing so as the way they speak is central to their identity?!

Lila

My first husband was born in Ireland and still had quite a brogue when we met -- but after 20 years he had lost most of it -- except when he was either very emotional or drunk.

But I've known several French and German immigrants who still had very strong accents after living here for thirty years.

I've always wondered at the difference. I wonder what I sound like when I think that I'm speaking such wonderful French -- or even my yeoman Spanish. I try very hard to eliminate my American accent -- but how do I sound to others, I wonder.

One of my proudest moments was once in Quebec when they knew that my accent was odd but they guessed that maybe I came from Belgium.

I thought there was only one fake Spanish accent in Llena (Mari/Victoria). Luis Hacha (Jorge) is a genuine Spaniard. Spanish Spanish always sounds funny to my ear. :)

Muy estimado Doctorsito Carlos: you had better be right about YOUR Matilde because if she shows one iota of disrespect towards 'my' Nata...you are hosed, Mister!!!

As for Jero...don't worry, my friend, he is going to have to pay dearly for what he did to Nata...and he knows it.

I think the Augie Doggie and Big Mouth Berta pairing will spell danger for both Nata and Jero. Those two (Augie and Berta) are such self centered goons, they don't care who is hurt in the process.

Malafina has taught her daughter too well.

So glad I found u guys.... my DVR didn't record on Friday and I was freaking out - this recap was awesome. Love it. Will now add to my favorites

Amy, what a fantastic recap! I so enjoyed watching the episode and reading along.

Wow, Regina is something else when she makes up her mind. Even though she is "la otra" she is pretty honorable, first breaking up with Tony and then approaching Gonzo. This seems to be the correct and mature order of things but it hardly ever happens in telenovela land. Kudos to her.

Lila, I have always been worried about Tony going to the dark side. He seems such a weak sort, "Sad Sack" as Juan Miguel so perfectly describes him, but when things don't go his way he gets such an evil look in his beady little eyes that he's kind of scary to me. ITA with those of you who predict he'll not give up easily and will enthusiastically throw Gonzo to the wolves at the first opportunity.

I like that we are rooting for happy endings for both mother and daughter simultaneously.

Great comments everyone. I always enjoy discussions about speech, linguistics and words. Amamantar and apapachar, I will look forward to hearing these.

Welcome Rosie! If you were going by Rosemary then you would be the third on this board.

Can't wait for tonight with the upcoming arrests.

Thank you Azul and all the wonderful Recappers. And more applause to all the wonderful Commenters.
Azul, you caught me as I was musing the R's of telenovelas. I am NOT a list maker this is likely my start and end:
Revenge
Redemption
Realization
Redirection
Recompense
Resserection
(always amusing when vilians are brought back to extend the novela).
Rination
Word verification:stediess...oh-oh.

Hey, everyone. One of my extremely rare busy days, so I haven't been able to read the recap or comments yet. There was a couple of things that happened Friday that had me wondering a bit, re: Nata and Gina. I'm curious to see if anyone else picked up on them before I comment.

Ahoy Cap'n, 'tis going to be a great night!

Bonney - Re-creation and reawakening (Gina) and revelations!!

Hmmmm Robey, let me see, Nata and Gina. . .you got me?! If it's their clothing, I rarely notice, hairdo either! They're both seeking to maintain Gonzo's trust? I'm stumped!

Lila

Robey, I can't recall any particular details, however in this telenovela I think it's very interesting that both mother and daughter will be battling simultaneously for their destined true loves.

Amigos, if we were to try to draw a family tree for our characters it would have some very tangled branches!

How 'bout they both have hopeful hangers-on dogging their heels, stalking them and willing and capable of cualquier cosa para conquistarlas?

Lila

Amy--Great recap, as usual. My comment about Nata is that she seems to be under someone's thumb (Fina), FINALLY, stands up for herself and then finds herself under someone else's thumb (Jero), etc. Now it's Auggie.

I was surprised that Gina started an affair with Gonzo considering that her husband cheated on her. But, I guess she did comment about that.

Rosie--welcome. I know how excited I was when I found this website while watching STuD and my friend at work had missed an ep and couldn't translate a crucial bit of business for me. Everyone here is great.

Robey

Seems like I confused everyone with my first comment. Sorry guys.
