Teresa Mon 8/8/11 #111 Aida Unchained: Nothing Beats Kicking Your Worst Enemy When She’s Down—Especially If She’s Totally Paralyzed

Viewerville can now say without a doubt that Rubigote’s daughter definitely comes by her disgusting lack of character honestly.  In fact, all of Viewerville began looking for a mustache above that pouting upper lip of hers before it was all over.

As we begin the Monday sojourn back to Mexico, Arturo is desperate for Mariano to tell him the truth about Teresa’s prognosis.  Is there a good possibility she’ll be left a quadriplegic or not? Mariano first wants to know who told him.  Art is impatient--to say the least--and grabs Mar by the collar.  “—Is it true or not???!!!”  Yes, says Mar, she could be paralyzed for life.  Art is soul-searching impactado.

Meanwhile, Armando and Refugio take turns in entering Tere’s room and telling her how much they love her and how she needs to be strong and survive this tragedy. FF>>

Art goes nutzoid and starts shaking Mariano, telling him he doesn’t believe him; that he’s just saying that because Mar’s hurt--and we suppose wanting to take it out on him.  Mar pulls him off him and fights to stay professional.  He explains that he wishes it were only that, but the fact is that the bullet is close to the spinal column and could cause paralysis if and when they try to remove it—and no, it’s Dr. Alcazar’s and various other experts’ opinion, not just his.  No, yells Arturo!  You’re only saying this to upset me!  Art, he knows, is not exactly in his right mind at this point, so Mariano cuts him some slack.  Art runs to the nurse’s desk to find where Hector is, pushes Mar out of his way, and then races to Hec’s office to get it straight from the horse’s mouth.

Well, unfortunately, Hector’s still at home having his breakfast, so Arturo will have to wait for his confirmation.  Aurora and Martin have arranged a special breakfast to announce their engagement.  At least we find out from a quick chat between Aurora and Daddy before Marty arrives, that Tere’s stable for now, but the inflammation hasn’t totally subsided.  Happy, happy!  Joy, joy!  FF>>

Back at the hospital, Aida stops in for a quick chat with Magda the magpie.  Aeeeda asks about Teresa and Dr. Magpie immediately starts chattering with all the details.  (Definitely wouldn’t fly in The States.  Some lawyer’d have her entire career for lunch—and rightfully so!)

Across town, Luisa tells Fernando she’s stopping by the house to pick up a few things for Art and Teresa whenever she wakes.  Nando has an chance to help her brother out some how and is staying to revise the paperwork and then go to some bidnez meeting.   He tells her to give his best to Tere if she regains consciousness while Luisa’s there.  Lu mentions that now Tere and he will be closer than ever since now she has his blood running through her veins.  Nando smiles weakly at the irony. FF>>

Outside the Barerra manse, Fito stops by and chats with Reina.  She tells him that Teresa was shot by some crazy woman and in the hospital.  He leaves and wonders where he’s going to get his money from now.

Hec and Aurora arrive at the hospital.  Art races into their office and demands to know if it’s true that Teresa could be paralyzed.  They say yes, but it’s not certain and explain about waiting a full 72 hours, etc.  He’s angry they didn’t tell him right away.  They say they didn’t think it was a good time, considering his state of mind.  Art wants to know the percentages.  Hector says there’s a very high possibility she’ll end up a quadriplegic.  Art stops to process.

In another part of the hospital, Mariano runs into Refusio and Armando.  They figure as long as Tere’s alive there’s still hope for her.  He tries to comfort them and explains they’ll have to see how much damage the bullet has done. FF>>

Hector and Aurora try to get Art mentally prepared for the worse case scenario.

Johnny tries to talk Pati into staying with her abuelo a while, but she refuses because she doesn’t trust him not to lock her up or send her away despite their being married.  Juana shows up and then Cutberto.  She and he have to watch out for Esperanza since Dr. Hernan can’t come by. (Yawwwwwwn!)  FF>>FF>>

Back at the hospital again, Aeeeda pounces on Mariano and wants to talk.  What about?  Is it true what Magda just told her about Teresa ending up a quadriplegic?   Mariano gets really ticked and tells Aeeeda  that Dr. Magpie had no right to tell her that because it’s confidential!  (I guess they really don’t have any HIPAA equivalent in Mexico.)  Well, Magda must have thought they were still dating, says Aeeeda.  Mario says even so, she had no right to discuss it with her, period.  Why is she asking anyway?  Well, despite what he thinks, Aida says as sweetly as she can, no way would she want Teresa to have to spend the rest of her life in a wheelchair!  He shuts her up and says that’s not going to happen!   “—And, I hope you’re sincere about that.”  Why?  Because, he answers her, it’d be really upsetting to realize that he’d been wrong about her all this time.   (Well, get ready to be upset—really, really U.P.S.E.T.)   He leaves to check with Hec and Aurora while Aeeeda smoulders silently.

Elswhere in the hospital, Art enters Tere’s room.  She’s still unconscious. He tearfully tells her that he should be the one lying in that bed and fighting for his life, not her!  He would have preferred to die rather than see her now as a quadriplegic.  One way or another he’ll make sure she has any [a cuanta] doctor necessary!

Refusio and Juana chat at the hospital about 1) Tere’s improved condition 2) nobody can tell Esp for fear she’ll lose the baby over the shock and, 3) Hector told Juana she’ll have to decide between Buttberto and him, but Juana can’t because they both have their pluses.  Oh yeah, 4) Refusio thinks she’s taking her own sweet time about it.

At the prison Boots Rootsie and El Bigote have a good couple of yucks over Tere’s being at Death’s door.  It serves her right as far as Genoveva and Ruben are both concerned.  It’s karma: payback for all the harm she’s caused them.

Aurora takes a turn at the unconscious Tere’s bedside to tell her to get well and walk again so she can be the matron of honor at her and Marty’s wedding, not to mention having to attend Daddy and Juana’s wedding, too! Oh, and no she never thought she’d be so excited about marrying Marty, but turns out that she is.  (Ehhh!  Yawn.) So, hurry up and wake up!  FF>>

A bit later, Hector, Mar, and Aurora are discussing Art’s outburst.  Mar asks how he found out.  Aurora says he overheard a couple of nurses discussing it.

Rubigote doesn’t forget to ask Gen for another bit of cash…er… to keep Fito happy.  (Anybody wonder how much he’s taking off the top?)  Unfortunately, now that Aeeeda and Mar have broken up, it’s going to be difficult to find out when Esp’s had her little boy.  They’ll have to figure something out.  Gen reminds Rube that they’ll have to start from scratch trying to get Mayra to forgive him first as a woman, and then to have her let him out of prison. FF>>FF>>

Mariano comes in to check on the comatose Tere again.  He tells her that he is sorry he couldn’t come by to check on her last night because Art was with her all night, but he hasn’t stopped thinking about her.  Speak of the Devil!  Art walks in just then, angry as all get out to see Super Mariano standing there.  (Well heck, sports fans!  You’ve got the guy who knows he should have taken the bullet walking in on the guy who would have pushed his woman out of the way and actually done it!  Yep, the Magic Medical Man, Mariano, saved his woman’s life while he, Mr. Pretty Prof, hid behind her skirts and then later bawled like a baby over her bleeding body.  Guilty as charged, he stood there crying, beautiful a creature as he is, and let his wife fight off the loco dead client’s gun-toting, raving wife while he only tried reasoning with her--from a distance--instead. Like when’s the last time anybody was able to reason with a rabid dog?)  Art thanks Super Mariano for saving his wife’s life but warns him to steer clear of her [mantener al margen] from now on; that Dr. Alcazar is handling her case.

Mariano turns around and tells Mr. Pretty Prof the hard, cold truth.  “I know she’s your wife and I respect you; but are you sure you’re ready for what might come next?  If it turns out that way it will be because she sacrificed herself for you.  Let’s hope you know how to appreciate that [valer=to be worthy of, to value] and never fail her again, neither as a man nor as a husband!  Understood?”  Oh yeah!

At the Alcazar’s, it’s second seating for breakfast.  Marty and Aurora announce their engagement to Juana.  Yes, Papa knows, but they asked him not to tell her so they could surprise her also.  Juana is like the mother she should have had, says Aurora and she wants her there at the wedding taking her unworthy bio-mother’s place beside her daddy.  Juana’s thrilled.

Mar gets back to his office and sits down.  He takes a painful moment to remember him and Tere making love.  He’s thinking to himself how he could have spent so much time apart from her when in swoops Aeeeeda, to take her perch by his side.  “—We haven’t finished talking.”  “—What about?”  “—About us!”  He says again that there’s nothing left to say.  She begs him to remember that what they had was really good and worth the effort.  He says it was, but that he can’t offer as much as she’s offered him. It’s just not there.  So please don’t bring it up again!  “--But--!” “—Please, Aida!  Don’t make this more difficult!  Nothing will change my mind!![cambiar de opinion]”  She leaves and he thinks back to the first time he and Aida kissed and then the first time they made love.  Magpie walks in and breaks the mood at that point.  “—Don’t tell me that you finally did it and ended it with Aida!”  It wasn’t fair to give her false hopes when he’s in love with somebody else, he says.  Then he lays into her for discussing the particulars of a patient’s case with an outsider—specifically Teresa's.  Even if Magda did think he and Aida were still dating, that wasn’t justified. She’d better not do it again!

At the same time, back in Elegant Acres, Odious Oriana stops in at Genoveva’s manse to try buying Art’s mansion.  Unfortunately, it’s already been sold, and no, Gen cannot reveal the name of the buyer.  Tsk.  No other house interests her.

Teresa is just starting to open her eyes and regain consciousness when in flies our favorite little vulture to check out the roadkill.  “--Teresa, you’ve done nothing but ruin my life for forever!  First with Paulo and now you’re wrecking my chance at happiness with Mariano! “  She grabs the oxygen tube and squeezes it in half to stop the flow and possibly suffocate her.  “—Well, little good it’ll do you ‘cause you’re never getting up out of this bed again!  Never again!”  (Shades of Esperanza suffering Aeeeeda’s buzz-bombing a few months back invade Viewerville’s brain.)   Suddenly Tere’s eyes open and she’s fully awake.  “—Well! Looky here! [Vaya!] I guess the frightful news made you wake up!”  (Tere does looks frightened. And why not?  She goes from looking into one scary and demented broad’s eyes to waking up in a strange place, staring into another’s.)  Aeeeda’s tears dry up and her frown turns into gleefully evil grin.  “--You’re in a hospital bed, a bed from which you’ll never get up ever again!!” The wild eyed b!tch pokes around on Tere’s chest and belly for emphasis.  “--Because….You. Are. Going. To. Be. Paralyzed!!!”  Je,je, je!!

Across town again, Gen and Odiosa chat about Aida and Mayra being close family friends, the problems with the jerk Mayra married, and that she also knows about Paulo and their ages old problems with that b!tchy upstart, Teresa.

Back in her woefully unattended room in Intensive Care, Teresa’s eyes go wide from the obvious shock of the news.  “—Why am I here?” “—Do you really [a poco] not know what you’re doing here?  Jo, Jo!  You also have amnesia?”  “—I don’t understand what you’re talking about.”  “—That you’ve always been a sewer rat and that now it’s your turn for PAYBACK!”  Aeeeeda starts running her fingers up and down Teresa’s legs, pulling on her and shaking them up and down like an old rag doll.  “—Cuz you don’t feel anything now!”  She races over to Tere’s arms, lifts them up and down, shakes them all around, and then screeches at her.  “—Come on, try to move, just try if you can, jee-jee!” Aeeeeda giggles spitefully.  “--You can’t!”  Tere’s mind does major somersaults.   “—Welcome to your new and cruel reality, Teresa!”  She vigorously shakes Tere’s limp arm again and viciously tells her that she’s leaving to find the doctors to come explain it all and make sure she understands exactly what’s happened to her.  “—Don’t go anywhere, now, ok?”  (Is there anybody still left on Team Aida after tonight’s episodio who wants to admit to it?)

Meanwhile, Mariano, Dr. Magpie and the other doc friend from schooldays discuss the breakup with Aeeeda.   Hey, it’s not fair to lead somebody along when you don’t feel the same way they do.  It’s a waste of time.  Dr. Friend says hey, at least she’s rich, fun, and good-looking.  What’s the harm in marrying somebody like that?  Mar needs more out of a relationship than that.  Magpie says well, maybe it’s no more than hurt pride keeping Mar thinking he’s really in love with Teresa.  No, it’s not like that, Mar assures her.  Dr. Friend says well, could be she’s no more than a trophy and once you have her back you’d feel nothing for her again.  Mar says wouldn’t matter anyway, because it’s obvious from what’s happened that she’s now in love with her hubby.  Dr. Friend says Puh-lease!  “--We all know she dumped you to marry for money.”  No, says Mar.  Things have changed.  Her husband has lost his fortune.  Well, says Dr. Friend, she’s going to be pissed as heck cuz things haven’t turned out like she’d planned.  Suddenly Dr. Mapgie races back into the conference room to tell them that Teresa’s awake!  Mariano races off to her room.

We go to a momentary chat back at breakfast at the Alcazar’s, to a discussion about how an engagement is unbreakable and that there’s nothing worse than leaving a woman at the altar.

Beaming back to Tere’s hospital room in Un-intensive Care (where it’s obvious that nobody’s been intensively caring for her or Aeeeda’d never have made it past security let alone past the nurse’s station and into that room) the nurses are in a flurry of activity and Teresa’s distraught, acting out from panic.  “--Find me a doctor!  Hurry!  Get me a doctor!”  Mariano races in.  (Doctor?  Did somebody call for a doctor?)  He tries immediately to calm her down.  “—Is it true I’m paralyzed for life?  Tell me!  Am I?  I can’t be!  I’d rather die!  Die!”  Mariano tells her they have to wait to see.  “--Tell me what’s happened, Mariano!  Tell me, please!”  He explains about the bullet lodged so closely to her spine, close to the cervical vertebrae.  No!  She’d rather die!  She wants to die!  He caresses her face and gives her a tranq.

We beam back to Elite Estates to the Alcazar’s to a discussion now of who’s going to design Aurora’s wedding dress.  Marty says whatever she wants she gets!  Juana says she designed a beautiful one for Teresa, but perhaps she’s going to want a special designer for hers.  Aurora says she can’t think of anyone else she’d rather have to make it [confeccionar] than Juana.  (Ah, Aurora!  You’re such a character foil!)  Juana’s in seventh heaven!

Lu and Art are sitting in the lounge area and discussing Teresa’s horrible prognosis.  He says that Mariano was correct and it all the more reason for him to feel horrible about what’s happened to her.  He feels so impotent at not being able to do more than to wait it out.  Just like they all have to, says Lu.  She hands him the documents she and Nando worked through to restructure his debt.  He worries that his reputation will suffer after the scandal with Saenz, and that he’ll lose his clients and great income; that that will mean that his debts will take even longer to pay off.  (Welcome to the real word, Artie-boy!)  He tells Lu he should be lying in that bed and not Teresa.

Speaking of whom, Mariano is still trying to calm her down and tells her there’s still a chance she’ll walk again.  Tere doesn’t believe him.  He’s only telling her that to get her to calm down and she can’t.  “—Teresa, look me in the eyes.  I wouldn’t lie to you.”   The bullet’s pushing on the vertebrae but once the inflammation subsides, they’ll have a chance.  They’re going to have to wait.  Hector races in just then and is a bit put off to see Mariano at her bedside.  “—Does Arturo know she’s regained consciousness?”  “—Not yet, she was so upset I had to give her a tranquilizer.  I’ll go tell him immediately.”  “—No, you go on about your business and I’ll attend to Teresa.”   Before Mariano makes it to the doors, Hector turns to her and says he doesn’t understand how she found out.  “—Aida told me I was going to be stuck in this bed and unable to move forever!”   (Viewerville takes a quick time out to do the happy dance.  Aeeeda’s been fingered!  Guilty as charged!  BTW, wouldn’t it be lovely if she and Dr. Magpie can be sued for mental anguish or something?)   Mariano’s dark eyes are blazing with anger!  (Whoohoo!  The Gargoyle b!tch has been busted!)    Smoke starts curling out of every orifice of his beautiful head.

Back in the lounge, Art gets word on his cell from Hector that Tere’s awake now.

At Casa de Generous Gen, Odiosa informs her that Lu and Fernando are engaged.  Great family, says Gen, except it’s a shame that her brother’s lost all his fortune. Aeeeda flounces in and plops down on the couch with fresh gossip about Teresa.  “—Teresa’s woken up now.  But that’s not all--it seems she’s going to be a quadriplegic!”  Odiosa’s jaw drops.  She looks over Gen with a look of actual pain in her eyes.

Back in her hospital room, Art races in and tells Teresa how wonderful it is that she’s awake now.  “—What a waste, tho.  It’s useless to be alive.  I’m nothing!”

The gossip girls continue at Gen’s place.  Yes, and no doubt Teresa will leave Art flat once the crap hits the fan and the dust settles. Odiosa sniffs.  She’s nothing more than a scheming, gold digging, social climber!  “--I know the type well! All of us rich and cultured blue-bloods have got to stick together and prevent her from trying that with somebody else now that Art’s lost his money!”  (Didn’t these harpies just hear?  The poor girl is probably going to be flat on her back, immobile!  They still gripe about her as if she’s going to be up and about and seducing men right and left!) Odiosa is matter of fact.  “--As vain as Tere is it’s going to be doubly hard on her.”  Aeeeda agrees, but says she doesn’t know how Tere’s been able to make men fall at her feet like she has, all her life--like with Mariano.  “--You can’t imagine the way he’s become so obsessed with her!”  Odiosa asks what she’s talking about.

Art stands around supposedly giving Tere moral support while Hector does some tests to see if Tere has any feeling at all yet.  She realizes he’s been sticking her feet with the point of a knife-like object, but there’s no sensation.  She totally panics.  “--I can’t feel a thing!  I can’t mo-o-o-o-ve!!”

Crikey! Remind me to never go on vacation again! I'll have to go back through the past week's recaps to get caught up. Aida was EVIL last night!

Interesting tidbits:

Oriana tries to buy Arturo's house but is informed there's already a buyer (who is the buyer? Aida?)

Mariano chews Magda out for telling Aida about Teresa's condition. (Why did Magda tell Aida anything?)

Ruben, Geno, Aida & Oriana all sat around at various times with each other cackling about Teresa's misfortune and how great it would be if Teresa died.

Geno, Aida & Oriana sat around discussing what IS it that makes men go GAGA for Teresa?

I thought Oriana's only saving grace was that she was a good judge of character-but NOT! She likes Geno and Aeeeeeda. So I am now wondering what is behind all her hatred.

Wow. Payback is a b!tch. Wasn't it deja vue all over again . I wonder if Tiny Terror flashed back to her conversation with Paloma as she lay dying ? Ay-yi-ida is scary when she gets that face.

Hysterically funny title Jardinera.

I agree Anon207, what business is it of Magda to tell Aida anything about her condition?... Isn't Patient / Dr. confidentiality also in effect in Mexico?

Lady Lisa de Saint Helena

Magda did it because she doesn't like nor has ever cared for Teresa and she also likes Mariano. But she also totally not professional telling Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda about Teresa's condition.

I suspect and said this before i think Fernando has bought Arturo's house as a wedding gift for Luisa.

The one thing they should have done was either banned Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda from the hospital or had security placed outside of Teresa room.

Now it's funny how the harpy is trying to get back with Mariano but her stupid actions are just proving he was right in dumping her and he should have done this sooner.

Funny also how those are happy about Teresa's current condition. Oriana,Geno, Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda and Ruben. Both father and daughter are getting theirs it's only a matter of time for the other two.

So the idiot MFB finds out about why the house is put up for sale and that Teresa is in the hospital. You overplayed your hand idiot no more dinero for you.

Just a beanie alert-there is no way to kill someone by squeezing the tube that leads to a Venturi mask-a person with that cervical injury would in real life be intubated, even in Mexico, I'm sure. But very vicious-thanks Susanlynn-I had forgotten Teres behavior as Paloma died-this is definately TN style payback.

Wow, I'm out of the loop for a week and all hell breaks loose. Teresa takes a couple of bullets, Aurora gets engaged and, best of all, Mariano dumps the 200 decibel harpy.

Jardinera, terrific title, I can't wait to read your take on last night's antics.

Chuchi, I had the same thought if Oriana's is supposed to be a good judge of character why cant she see Aida and Geno for what they are? I think Oriana's is only a good judge of who has money but since she didnt pick up that Mar wasnt rich it may be the fact that she knows her son is interested in teresa that's fueling her hatred.

Could Aida be any crazier and scarier.

Its fun how all the rich people (Aida, Geno, Reubin, Oriana) are seating around saying teresa is getting what she deserves when they are or have done worst things to people.I guess when you have money its Ok to be an ASS

I suspect and said this before i think Fernando has bought Arturo's house as a wedding gift for Luisa.
------------------

If anything, Fernando would have bought the house for TERESA & ARTURO, not Luisa.

Plus it's not like Luisa will be homeless, she'd be living with Fernando and she has her own condo, unless she and Arturo have to sell that, too.

Thanks for the recap Jardinera. I was horrified at Aida's behavior. Teresa did get in PatPal's face but she's did hold the air tube. This was truly a new low for her.

ITA w/ebony. The richies, who are a wretched group of immoral hypocrits are celebrating Ter's almost death. I just cringe whenever Geno gets on her high horse (for example, Espe is awful but let's take her baby). It will be fun seeing how each of their stories is resolved.

I had to sneak a peak at this recap and lo and behold, it was the amazing Jardinera!

Every word of your recap had me on the edge of my seat. You captured all of the painful (sometimes hideous hate and envy) perfectly.

"Mariano’s dark eyes are blazing with anger! (Whoohoo! The Gargoyle b!tch has been busted!) Smoke starts curling out of every orifice of his beautiful head." Oh my. Perfect!

You even managed to infuse humor - "all of Viewerville began looking for a mustache above that pouting upper lip of hers before it was all over" had me laughing out loud.

I've always loathed Aida - even more so now (if that's even possible). How can Teresa possibly be portrayed as the villain when Aida's sheer horrific hatred has consumed every fiber of her being? I could barely stand to watch her abuse Tere, verbally and physically. Odiosa also merits a close second place with Geno in third. I hope Teresa has a happy ending because no ones deserves the hatred of that unholy triumverate. Blech.

I also think Fer bought the house to give it back to Art and Tere. Luisa would never be comfortable living there thinking she displaced them and Fer knows that.

Thanks again Jardinera. You made my day.

Diana

Greetings Karen! Our comments crossed.

Loved your "The richies, who are a wretched group of immoral hypocrits are celebrating Ter's almost death" Indeed! I'm also anxious to see if they receive their just desserts. I hope so.

Diana

Magda the Magpie, LOL!!

Jardinera, your descriptions of Aida torturing Teresa were absolutely perfect. Dang, that girl's gonna give me nightmares. (It was funny, though, how she almost tripped over the sheet.)I can't wait until Mariano rips her a new one for blabbing to Teresa.

"...there’s nothing worse than leaving a woman at the altar", uh oh, those types of statements always worry me.

Jardinera, thank you for the wonderfully funny and thorough recap.

Well worth the wait. Awesome recap - I'm stretching out my lunch with the door closed finishing this work of art!

"Whoohoo! The Gargoyle b!tch has been busted!" BEST.MOMENT.OF.THE.NIGHT.

I've not been on the Aeeedddaaa train for awhile now, but last night, she just went as far down to pond scum as you can go. That girl needs some sort of harsh reality check - and hopefully the writers make it good. In the meantime, I cannot wait for our hero to confront the Princess Screechy. Bring out the popcorn.

So what was the whole blah blah blah about engagements are whatever and never leave someone at the altar with Aurora and Martin. Again, TN writers never insert that type of conversation unless.......

OK, I tried to mentally make a list of the pros and cons on Hector vs. Buttberto. There is NO contest - what the heck is Juana thinking? If it's pure lust (ick) for Butthead, she needs a reality check on what real life would be like with that loser. Boggles the mind and the writers are doing nothing to make Butthead more sensible or start maturing. So disappointed in Juana on this argument.

So Tere's world goes upside down tonight - but we know out little Sharkette is a fighter. may not always be in her corner, but I'm rooting for her to get better and walk again soon just to shut up those three blue-blood bitches.

Loving the progress this week.

It makes all the sense in the world for Fernando to have buy Arturo and Luisa's house it's been in their family for a long time this has been brought quite a few times. As for his reasoning behind why he did it. Proabaly his main motivation not wanting to see Teresa in another house that doesn't befit her from his way of thinking but he'll say he's giving it as a gift to Luisa for her wedding.

Jardinera i fell over laughing at your question for those on Team Aeeeeeeeeeeda i'm waiting patiently for them to still defend this nasty harpy actions.

Yeah Mariano was steaming learning that it was Aeeeeeeeeeeeda who told first Teresa her condition. I think he knows and can imagine how she went about doing that. I so want to see that confrontation tonight as he tells her off for once and for all. That it's over and she need not come around anymore looking to take up where they left off he made a big mistake hooking up with her.

Previews Mariano finds out Aurora is engaged to Martin and is stunned!!!!! Aurora finds out from Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda she and Mariano are over she has been dumped. Happy Dance and backflips include right here.

Jardinera- Loved, loved, loved the recap. You really captured those scenes with Aida. She was certainly on a roll last night. I can't wait for Mariano to light into her.

I did think you were a bit hard on our Art. I really didn't think he cowered behind Tere's skirts during that scuffle. In fact, he shielded Tere at first and then she stupidly jumped in front of him and grabbed at the gun. Not his fault he's not a doctor and doesn't know how to stabalize a gun shot victim.

I was annoyed too that Mar was the first in Tere's room and keeps finding every moment to go in there. Yeah, he loves her. But he's NOT her husband. As much as he got on Magda about her decorum, the same can be said about him.

Did Fer really buy the house, or was it Geno and Aida? Hmmm... I hope it was Fer. Unless he did it anonymously, why wouldn't Geno just tell Oriana that her son bought it? I couldn't figure out what Oriana felt about Tere's medical condition. She didn't smile about it like Geno and Aida. It seems like she just doesn't think this will keep Tere down. And from the previews, it won't. Tere, the fighter, is determined to walk again. We knew she would be after the initial shock.

The previews also make it seem that Mariano is knocked for a loop to hear that Aurora is engaged, and she's shocked to learn he broke up with Aida. Once again, their timing is always off. But it made it seem to me that poor Martin is the one who's going to get dumped at the altar. Aurora can send him my way. I can do with a man who makes me fresh muffins in the morning and tells me I can have/do whatever I want (and means it). But no matter what, I just can't trust that Mar really loves Aurora. His major reaction to Tere being in the hospital, and all the feelings he's been experiencing, shows me that his feelings for Ter have not deminished at all in all this time.

Dear Jardinera,

Your writing is awesome. I knew (just by the title alone) that today's recap was going to be terrific, and sure enough, it was the full monty!

"Mariano’s dark eyes are blazing with anger! (Whoohoo! The Gargoyle b!tch has been busted!) Smoke starts curling out of every orifice of his beautiful head."

There are so many outstanding anecdotes here. Thanks for the laughs and a great start to the morn!

Lady Lisa de Saint Helena

Hi, all! Sorry it took longer than I thought or planned, but I wanted to get all the terrific dialogue in all its sumptuous detail, and I started running out of steam about 1 AM. Then the computer ate a couple of choice lines when I cut and pasted onto the blog. The typos and paste-o's are corrected now. At least I hope so!
========

Aeeeda makes my skin crawl the way she abuses and literally tramples over the physically impaired. She's no different that way than her disgusting brute of a father, pushing his pregnant lover who's carrying his prized boy child in her belly, onto her stomach and leaving her there to cramp and bleed. The fact that nobody did anything to Aeeeda after she threw burning chemical into Teresa's face and eyes, then nobody did anything to her after she brutalized Espe and now she might get away with physically shaking the hell out of a patient in Intensive Care who's got to remain still because of a bullet lodged too near the cervical vertebrai--makes me think it's finally beanie time, folks!

That's vertebra E. Anyway.....
========

Welcome Chuchi and SS! Glad to see you're along for the roller coaster ride.

Vivi i remember Fernando mentioning he has a surprise for Luisa after finding out about their finances. As for Geno and Aeeeeeeeeeeeda being the buyer they would have already been gloating about owning Arturo's house and ready to kick Teresa and Arturo out of it so that's why i ruled them out.

That only leaves Hector,Hernan or Martin as the other candidates to have purchased the house it would seem the reasoning for them doing this wouldn't fit with the story.

Why wouldn't Geno tell Oriana that it was her son who bought the house he could have used someone else to purchase the house for him.I'm thinking he wants it as a surprise. It's not good business practice if Geno has been sworned to not tell who the buyer is and Fernando is quite influential in real estate construction market. That would hurt Geno's future business if she talks loosely about confidential business like that.

Loved the recap Jardinera. That's it. Aida is a b*tch. What cruelty she displayed while Teresa laid helplessly on the hospital bed while the harpy gloats and pours salt into the wound. I hope Mariano lights into her good. I can't wait until the smirk is wiped off her face when she finds out what a skank Gen is. All those harpies should just fly off a cliff. I was so angry. That was way over the top and I don't if Aida can ever be redeemed after this.

Magda has a big mouth just because she doesn't like Teresa. Aida is not a family member and since when do doctors tell privileged information to strangers.

So I wonder who bought the house?

I rooting for Teresa to prove her haters wrong and start walking again. All to wipe that grin off Aida the grouch's face.

"I did think you were a bit hard on our Art.

As much as he got on Magda about her decorum, the same can be said about him."

I agree Vivi and Mariano was overstepping the boundaries there.

Jardinera i've felt this way about Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda since her showing that slideshow of Teresa true origins and background. That was way overboard for bullying and just totally repugnant to me.

I believe it was Sharkbyte who said last week it's one thing to gossip about it and do it when she is just around Teresa and their peers but to go to the length of showing a slideshow. Shows she is depraved as a individual and she really hates this person to do something like. It's not a normal reaction to do something like that either.

That was the episode that drew me into watching this novela and i'm glad because i wanted to see how this played out.

Daisynjay LOL three blue blood bitches! Also LOL when oriana called Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda a beautiful young lady apparently she has cataracts.

Vivi i'm also disappointed in Mariano i thought he moved on from his feelings from Teresa but maybe it's because the person he chose to be with after her wasn't a person to make him realize he can have another great love in his life. But a even better and healthy one than what he had with Teresa.

The problem is and was Aeeeeeeeeeeeeda she didn't appreciate him or his feelings or his wants. Except for helping him with his clinic she tried to control who he saw and who his friends were and to forget where he came from and those people he grew up with. Not to mention her nonstop harping hatred for Teresa that is not a healthy relationship either.

Mariano needs someone who knows how he feels and supports him being Espe's friend and what he went through with Teresa and how it's affected him and then open his eyes to finally seeing. That at the end of the day it's best that he didn't end up with Teresa because she still wouldn't be happy because he couldn't provide the lifestyle she wanted right away.

Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda wasn't capable of doing this because of her issues and obsessive hate for Teresa and her anger and disdain for Espe being her father's lover and now going to give birth to her father's son.She doesn't want to really associate with Johnny and Pati because he is Espe's brother. Not to mention her rants on anything associated with the vecindad. She cooked her own goose and i am loving it.

Her best option now is to get with the guy who had the curls and crush on her when she was in prep school and in college but he has probably moved on by now.

I don't think Aurora is the answer for Mariano, IMNSHO. I've always been hoping for Tere and Mar to somehow find each other in the end and to be happy. Yeah, it sucks, but that's the way I feel.

ViviDC: No problemo! Different strokes and all that. And no, he couldn't have saved her medically speaking, but the fact that he had to have Mariano--Teresa's life long protector and vecindad bulldog--be the one to get her off to the hospital certainly adds salt to that long-festering wound. And, it does make for an interesting debate, however, because I do feel that he could have joined in fighting for that gun since he was much stronger than Teresa, but he didn't. I perceived his hesitation as fear and it's why I believe he's so guilt-ridden now--I could be wrong, but I do believe he sees things that way, whether others would or not. : ? )

Jardinera i felt too that Arturo should have been able to take that gun away from Saenz's grieving widow. He is stronger than her i know he was trying to talk and calm her down from her crazy but once that gun was whipped out he should have tried to be more proactive and taking it away from her it shouldn't have been Teresa.I do feel that is the reason why he feels so much guilt for Teresa's condition too.

Now as for Mariano and Teresa pairing i don't feel she belongs with him i understand your reasoning. I feel Teresa even though she she still loves Mariano i feel she also has fallen in love with Arturo. The one thing i do love about the Arturo and Teresa pairing is when Arturo puts his foot down and doesn't let her get away with so much as she would with Mariano.

Teresa expects all of her men to be pining away for her and inconsolable not being able to live without her. Arturo tells her he liked to keep his dignity intact. He went back and slept with Paloma after finding out Teresa's first was indeed Mariano.

So he's not exactly dancing to her tune all of the time or jumping through hoops.I think he has gradually gain her respect and admiration with this attitude she may not like it at first. But it intriques her that he isn't so enthralled with her like Mariano and Paulo have been.He does love Teresa too but he want to keep his self respect in tact. Both Mariano and Paulo should have been taking notes on this.

Great work, Jardinera, and what an episode!

Aida is definitely irredeemable after this one. She needs major therapy long before she considers another love relationship. Mariano and Hector definitely need to get her banned from the hospital.

I don't care who bought Arturo's house, but isn't it curious that Genoveva won't reveal this information to Oriana when medical information is free range?

There is going to be a major oatfight when Geno tries to take Esperanza's baby. Mayra and Aida might just rip her hair out by the roots.

Urban i like that imagery of Geno's hair being ripped out before she is shipped off to prison. She has been running amok for too long getting away with her nastiness too.

Jardinera, thanks for the super- superb recap filled with humor and details.

I'm neutral on the shooting, it happened so quickly that even viewerville was caught off guard. I do think that Mariano gets higher marks for his behavior in the hospital, Arturo needs to let his jealousies rest while his wife is facing PARALYSIS!  Mariano was called first, he is a doctor, and it is normal that he would visit the "patient" in (non) intensive care! Maturity wise  Mar is growing up and Arturo is stuck in kindergarten.

Blu, great analysis on Aeeda yesterday.

A couple of episodes back Fer was working at his desk and he said something about taking his first steps in helping Arturo, I think he bought the house.

Wonderful recap as usual, Jardinera. I was so happy when Mariano heard it was Aida who cruelly told Tere she is paralyzed.
I can't see Aurora now dumping Martin just because Mar shows some regret/shock that she is moving on. He still doesn't love her most, which is what she needs and is getting from Martin.

Jardinera,

Wonderful, recap; you really helped me out with some detailed conversations.. I too think that Fer bought the house for A & T.
He told L that he had some business to finish, and he got it done before his mother could make her offer.

By the way, I have been enjoying your recaps of DA as I continue
to watch Rodrigo & Gaviota and
su gran amor!

"Jardinera i've felt this way about Aeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeda since her showing that slideshow of Teresa true origins and background. That was way overboard for bullying and just totally repugnant to me." Blu, I completely agree and add that ALL Aeeda's classmates with the exception of Aurora, had a big ole laugh at Teresa's expense.  Combine that with a mother, Refugio, who, trying to justify her life choices, tried to hold Teresa's ambitions back, made me sympathetic to our little sharkette when ordinarily I wouldn't approve of her!

Fantastic recap for an exciting episode! This has been a fun TN, I never know where the writers are going.
I was wondering if it's possible that since Fer had the same rare blood as Teresa could Refugio and Oriana be long lost sisters? Wasnt Refugio disowned when she married down? Oh..maybe not..Refug did have to take etiquette classes..hummmm.

I also have NEVER been on Team Aida, she has been an evil, rude witch from day one! Still a Tere fan, I love her spunk and drive even if she is a bit wicked at times.

When Dr. Hector pulled the sheet off Teresa's feet to do the prick test I was half sure she would still be wearing her LOUBOUTIN stilettos !!!!

Elle: a number of us have considered the possibility of a family connection between Refu and Oriana. You can read Diann's detailed premise I think from last weekend and see how she backs up the supposition. You might like it! Only a few more weeks till we find out for sure. I'm going to miss this show!

jardinera--what a terrific recap. and i am also hoping for mar and ter to get back together. maybe he was overstepping the bounds a little in ICU, not telling arturo and all, but i give him a pass because i still think it's wuv, twooo wuv.

did anyone else notice how ter was wrapped up awfully tight in her bedsheet so that we could still see how svelte she is, even in a hospital bed; but everything above the, errr, ribcage was free to spilleth over?

Just a reminder tomorrow the soccer game is on and the schedule has been changed. For those on the east coast CME will be shown at 6:30pm followed by Teresa at 7:30pm then the soccer game. For those who lived in the Pacific and West Coast time zone check your local listings.
