Cuando Me Enamoro #102 Monday 9/12/11 Fiestas Full of Cranky Faced Lovers & Even More Truths Come To Darkness

Lets party!

Fiesta 1: The welcome back to freedom fiesta for Honorio is tarnished by the sour lurking face of Fina, but nobody seems to notice her or the peckish attitude of Constanza and sober grimaces of Honorio while they un-celebrate her lack of infidelity while overtly toasting to the liberation of Honorio and the restoration of the honor and integrity of Empresas Monterubio. Adriana is the only one unreservedly glad but she has to juggle the sourpuss moves of Matias who is paranoid that she enjoyed the hot lips of Chema too much. Fina comes back in her back door and swears that Regina will be so sorry so soon She can’t take her family, Malafina is never so happy as when she has a dastardly plan. Inez is surprised that things don’t seem to be resolved between Honorio and Consta. Constanza admits that Chema went to tell him the truth.

Fiesta 2: Roberta looks winsomely through the office windows at Augie who is planning something dastardly himself regarding the grape vine starts (sarmientos) with someone on the phone. It must be more damage he plans against La Bonita. Roberta says she didn’t want to interrupt considering what he was talking about. She assumes that the vine shoots are important. Augie picks her up and kisses her in a most unbrotherinlawtobe way telling her it is better if she doesn’t know more.

Fiesta 3: Then Chema calls Adri to tell her that he didn’t have bunny hop with Consta, He tries to explain that this was not for Hon or for her but now he can’t stop thinking about her. Matias looks on seeming to hear the air and see through the phone;. Good thing Adriana hasn’t signed up for facetime on her cell phone.

Fiesta 4: Lazaro and Carlos run into a wonderful village woman who thinks Lazaro looks like her old friend Heriberto who turns out to be Lazaro’s father then she recognizes he must be Lazaro who left the village as a child. She reminds him that she knew Heriberto and Matilde his parents then Carlos tells her that they are looking for his sister Matilde and Carlos describes the beauty with long dark smooth (lisa) hair. What do you know! She has just such a hermosa chica in her own house.

Fiesta 5: The big fiesta for Padre’s birthday meant to cheer the peons has begun. Renata in her Chiapas finery and Augie in his omnipresent windbreaker, at least formal black, try to make like things are good. Roberta slinks up to Ezek and flirts with him. He ask if he could offer her something (boy and howdy) then he helps her aim the toy rifle. He imagines she doesn’t like such country bumpkin events but promises her there will be real dancing later. She is so adept at sneering, we might mistake it for a smile. Dr. MarinaTatarrific approaches Jero. She receives a kiss for looking pretty and for her good news that she is going to ask her secretary to send her a copy of Roberta’s medical records, more kisses. Renata notices while she stands at Augie’s side also with a toy popgun. It’s just a miracle that neither sister goes postal.

Dr. Marina is going to tell Jero some truthiness about Roberta. She tells him that Roberta had a miscarriage days before the fall from the stairs, the stair fall had nothing to do with losing the baby. Dr. Tata can’t understand why Roberta didn’t tell the truth. And for this miscarriage being hidden and ignored, she is now sterile.

Fiesta 4: Lazaro and Carlos grip the sleeping Matilde with relief. The kind curandera says she thinks Matilde spent the night outside cold and wet and someone hit her but she doesn’t seem terribly injured, just profoundly unconscious. She goes off to make a strong tea to bring her around. Carlos declares his love and plans to spend his life with her. Sabina says with my herbs and your sentiments we are sure to bring her back to health.

Fiesta 5: Jero and Tat talk about how bad Fina is but Jero is still calling her Dona Fina with too much respect, and Roberta is just like her. Marina asks if Renata isn’t different. Jero defends that Renata is a good woman and nothing like the two harpies.

Fiesta 4: Matilde comes to drowsily, asking where she is. They are in Sabina’s house, who by coincidence knew her parents long again and saved her. Kind Lazaro doesn’t scold but is so glad she has been found okay. Matilde asks where did his parents go. Back to Merida, he answers. She is sad that they found her insufficient because she was a servant. Carlos assures her that for him she is a queen and he would do anything for her.

Fiesta 5: Roberta makes a point of telling Renata how great Tata and Jero are getting along and Renata mocks, NOOO, I didn’t notice. Then Augie points out a fortune game where sweet birdies pick a fortune. He orders two fortunes. In voice over we hear that Roberta is on a dangerous path and must be careful. She sneers saying she is wasting her time. She declares it stupid. Renata’s fortune says that things are not what they seem and the person at her side is?? She mumbles. What does this mean? Augie grabs the fortune and crushes it saying Roberta was right these are stupid. He goes off to talk with someone winking over at a booth. Note that only Renata is nice to the bird and even to the fortune vendor.

Renata and Roberta bump into Tata and Jero joking over cotton candy, Tata says how are you Roberta, to the amazement of Renata. You know her? Yes, Jero adds, she is none other than the gynecologist of Roberta. Roberta gets cranky and when Renata asks why Dr. Tata is Roberta’s ex-doc, she says ask your sister. Jero says yes it seems so delicate after all it was practically a miracle that her, I mean OUR baby was made without me ever touching the mother. Roberta doesn’t like either his tone or his attitude, stomps off to avoid further truths spewing out of the two mouths. Renata looks stunned while chases after Roberta.

Augie has a brief conversation about something nasty he is planning at La Bonita with a man running one of the carnival games.

Padre greets more guests carrying gifts. Is this supposed to relieve the tension and remind us that we are at a gala event and we are supposed to be enjoying ourselves?

Fiesta 6: Fina has taken on an art project to make a clever ransom note made of letters chopped out of the paper. It invites Regina to pay up if she wants to meet her daughter. For the value of the trust fund, she can regain her daughter, is she interested? Fina laughs at her cleverness and says Regina you have no idea the surprise I have for you. Her cackles fairly echo in the empty office of the empty house. No amount of luxury can muffle the lonely bitterness erupting out of Fina.

Fiesta 1 for justice and liberty: Matias welcomes Regina to the family. The Honorio fiesta is winding up with expression of the sentiments that the company can recover their reputation and no fraud was committed. They bid good night. The remaining couple do not reunite into a good night. The pouting and posturing continue as Hornorio decides he would rather be alone in Adri’s apartment where there is neither food nor comfort. He is resolved to suffer. Back in the bedroom Matias is expressing his suffering and jealousy of Adri and this Chema thing. So a house that should be so joyous is having no fun at all.

Fiesta 5: Roberta is fuming that Jero is an imbecile and ruined her evening. An unsympathetic Augie says he must be a Renata’s side and the auction (subasta) is coming up, He simply says go home to the hacienda then. He isn’t too happy about her complaints but liked how she keeps digging in about Jero and TataMarina. They part with Roberta expressing how much she hopes Augie comes home soon since she feels like bring WITH him. (Tengo ganas de ti).

Ezek sits with Manuela and Kari and is hailed by Augie. The women wonder who Roberta is, Kari thinks she seems familiar, Manuela thinks she seems to be high society. Augie orders Ezek to take Roberta back to the hacienda. She watches Ezek’s backside, saying this is nothing bad, and takes his arm not wanting marriage but vowing to try everything. Alfonsina shows up just in time to see the slick Roberta slime/ I mean slide/ down the walk with Ezek and knows trouble when she sees it. Roberta grabs his arms so she can balance on her high heels.

Matilde is recovering. Carlos calls Jero to tell him that they found her and will return tomorrow.

Renata says to Augie that something she can’t understand happened between Tata and Roberta. Augie tries to laugh it off but Renata wants to understand.

Jero walks by to distract Renata who walks by to distract him then Augie walks by to distract both I guess, strange dance step. Padre announces the beginning of the auction of dresses and also tells the crowd that Matilde has been found and will be home tomorrow. Everyone claps and he says it is the best news to Marina who left Jero to his own devices while she went to tell Padre the great news about Matilde.

Alfonsina is confused about who Roberta is, Manuela suggest she must be a special guest (I just mistyped quest, and that works too) of Augie. She tells Kari that she didn’t see anything specific but call it woman’s intuition that something was up with Roberta and Ezek. Yep, the levels of sex hormones is what’s up in my opinion.

Back to Fiesta 1: Adriana counsels Consta now that she will go talk to her Papa to fix this silly fight. And says lying is always a bad idea. But Consta says only she and Honorio can fix this. Sweet helpful Adri says if Hon and Con don’t work it out he will have to listen to her.

Back to Fiesta 5: The incidental passing goes on until Jero and Augie meet to pass quips about the sister-in-law (cuñada) needing to have respect and Jero says she isn’t your cuñada. He lets it be known that he knows what Roberta and Augie are rats are. Renata will realize it soon enough. Augie responds with a swift punch to Jero’s head. A punching match ensues with first Augie then Jero getting in equal and satisfying punches but Augie always is the dirtier fighter finishes with several kicks to the ribs. Padre comes to break it up saying he expects they will act like gentlemen, then he reassures the crowd that they should go on with the fiesta there is nothing to see here.

Back to Fiesta 4: A worried Carlos asks Sabina if the fever is going down. Yes, it is beginning to respond. He asks to sit by Matilde’s side. How do you feel .I can’t live without you. Lazarp, the ever wise one, leads Sabina out of the room while Matilde notes that his parents would now not give permission for him to marry her. They have their own way of thinking and I have my own. None of this is her fault. The church won’t fault her for not having her parent there to declare her an adult woman since they are dead so his parents don’t have to be there either. He has chosen his own path and wants to be by her side. She finally relents.

Back to Fiesta 5: La Subasta de Trajes Tipicos, A fund raising auction of ethnic regional dresses. The bidding starts with Marinatata;s lovely dress and the bids are generous. Jero bids $10,000 (if this is pesos, it is about $777), everyone smiles. . Tatla thanks Jero. Next up is our Renata. Bidding opens with $3000, then Augie bids $10,000 smirking as if he is not to be outdone by Jero. Surprise, surprise, Jero says $15,000 and Augie bids $25,000 ($1942 in dollars). Jero stands and thanks him for paying this generous (read ridiculous) price for the dress. Augie looks had. Padre looks glad and wants to make more from the remaining dresses. His big gifts are already assured.

Fiesta 7 the best for last: At the hacienda, Roberta comes in and begins to seduce poor Ezek. She lays back on the couch with arms open then starts to undo his shirt while she asks him to pour a glass of wine for each of them. While she mentions that perhaps then she will ask for other things. He weakly protests that he has to return to the fiesta, She responds: have to or want to? He doesn’t seem to scared, a bit surprised, but definitely not scared.

Sabina says with the tea she gave Matilde she will sleep and will wake much better. Carlos whips out money to present to a shocked Sabina. Lazaro steps in helpfully saying his offer to give Sabina money might be taken as an insult. So Carlos thinks fast and says at least you must come to our wedding as a special guest. She wouldn’t miss it. Then he asks for two things, as he puts the money away he says that is taken care of and the second is that he wants Lazaro to call him brother-in-law and treat him like family that he is to be. Lazaro sits back and says with gravity, we will see. Carlos is impactada.

Augie carps that he bought her not the dress and Renata is confused. Augie feels cheated into being generous again. Oh my.

Jero gets his contusions attended to by the sexy doctor, who says all men act like children as she kisses his booboos so sweetly. Tata practices the fine art of good doctor, good sex partner, good spare girl while she is overlooking his obvious obsession with Renata . He doesn’t reject he kisses and plays with where she should kiss him that doesn’t hurt.

Post Fiesta: Regina and Gonzo come into her living room see the envelope (how does she get the into apartments past locks and guards?) She makes him read it. So the offer is that for the equivalent value of the trust fund, she can see daughter, Is she interested? Regina says Cantu was right, this Pepa is only interested in money. It is clear the person wants Roberto’s fortune that was left to Regina II. Gonzo says she shouldn’t give everything, but Regina says she would give her very life if it would get her daughter back.

Fina who really is interested only in money, well maybe equally in revenge drums her fingers and wonders how long it will take to get her money and her revenge. She threatens the wedding plans, which may be part of the payment I think. She gambles a lot on Roberta sharing with her, doesn’t she?

Next Time: Roberta heat up her fiesta with Ezek. Augie comes to start his after fiesta fiesta and realizes Roberta isn’t breathlessly hot waiting for him but seems breathless from being hot. Jero gets more clues about the truth, going to Augie’s and asking to see Renata, which earns him another rifle aimed at him.

Good morning CHeryl. Not of a heck of a lot in the plot department, but fun to watch. Always enjoyable to watch two grown men act like idiots and one about to burst with testerone flying. Thanks for the great recapping of the antics.

Maybe it was me, but Berta was especially trashy/sneerful looking last night. Channeling in her inner Fina as she gets older I guess. Not loving having Ezek getting pulled into her games, but he's ripe for it and still holding a grudge against Alfi doesn't help.

Hon and Matias - no I heart Chema tee's for you!! But seriously, what is their problem? The jerk-o-meter on these two is getting periously close to tilting.

We're not supposed to be all for Jero and Tata, but have to admit, they are kind of cute togther. And as far as he's concerned, she's engaged to be married to he of the windbreaker obsession. And she does see how protective he is of Nata, so it's not like she's walking into the relationship blindly - just sad you know she'll be hurt later on.

Along with my Chema tee, can we start a Lazaro and Carlos line? A girl needs rotation in her wardrobe anyway. I would proudly wear both.

Sign me up for the Chema tee. He hasn't done anything wrong except maybe fall for the wrong woman(women). Or maybe not. I'm kinda secretly pulling for him with Adri, but those headaches bode no good. Your almost typo named Roberta right--she's on a quest for the most conquests-- or at least the most encounters of a bedroom nature. And as for Fina, how in the world does she come up with those diabolic schemes, and manage to get away with them? Be interesting to see how she manages to insert Roberta as the missing heiress without giving herself away as the babynapper.

JayGee

Cheryly- Your recap was great fun. Those parties were not! Cranky faced lovers, indeed. Hon and Matias need a good spanking.

I loved all the native outfits. Even Nata was showing some cleavage in her dress. Those off the shoulder numbers always look really good on her. She must have felt like a piece of meat during that weird bidding war between Auggie and Jero. Not cool fellas.

So Doc Tatas decided on truth over professional ethics. What do you think of this Dr. Carlos? Glad she also told Jero that the miscarriage happened days before the fall from the stairs. He now knows that once again Nata's mother and sister accused her of something false, with premeditation.

Oh Zeke! Tempted by the Devil in a Blue Dress. She does have great gams though. Will his moment of weakness lead him to be more understanding with Alfie?

Wonderful Chery1!

So many wonderful lines but my favorites are: "slick Roberta slime/ I mean slide/" and "realizes Roberta isn’t breathlessly hot waiting for him but seems breathless from being hot."

I thought the ladies looked lovely and think Jero is fortunate (and undeserving) of having 2 such beautiful women love him.

I agree that Chema and Adi have chemistry and am pulling for them (although I also fear the headaches are a foreboding sign).

Fina becomes more grotesque with each passing day. How does she manage to stay invisible in plain sight? Ack.

Diana

So glad that Matilde was found, all these TN teas remind me of when I was growing up, any ailment could be cured by some special tea. (NOT, I always disputed the healing powers of my abuela's teas as I always ended up taking some other medicine to get better.)

I threw up in my mouth a little over the whole Ezek and Roberta fling to be...he doesn't stand a chance....but so true he is ripe for it...maybe after he does the deed he will feel on the same level playing field as Alfi, paving the way for a reconciliation.

I was hoping the subasta would have cost Augie more $$, it would have been fun to see him squirm a bit more.

Not surprised that Dr. Tata's spilled to Jero, it was also fun watching Roberta get upset over Jero's taunts.

Avances...looks like Jero has Roberta's expediente, wonder if Renate will get to see it.

So sad to tell you that my father passed away unexpectedly on Saturday (well, as unexpectedly as an 81 year old with Alzheimers can), so I will probably be a day or two behind this week.

I had a few comments that I would have made over the weekend.

First of all, thank you AmyAzul! That was a great Friday re-cap. I sure do come away with different translations on some of those things when I watch it without the re-caps. You guys are awesome.

Cheryl - I will read this one after I get a chance to watch it. Someone on the home page of our blog suggested to try to watch it once first without knowing what is going on, then watch it again with re-capper aid, so I am trying that, but thank you in advance! I know it will be smashingly brilliant, like always.

As I was skimming down to get to the comments, I did notice that they found Mati. So there goes my theory that she'd become a couple with the handsome young man who carried her into the house (Sweet Lady's son?), and then when Carlos found her she'd have to decide. So, cross that comment out.

Poor Coni with her burst bubble. I am wondering if they have EVER talked about the possiblity that he DIDN'T sleep with Blanca and that she'd set him up? Or does he think he actually did?

Now, here's a harsh reality check for me: I LOVE pretending that if I had the kind of job where one dresses up, or got invited to a White House dinner, I would wear something from Coni's or Regina's or even more recently, Marina's closet. So imagine my horror to see Ines walking around at Honorio's party wearing the skirt I always wear on airplanes! It's flowing and comfy and I call it my Traveling Skirt. I mean, Ines? I dress like Ines? Oh, I wish we'd all met in person so you could assure me I am not frumpy!

Mike - I have to go back to the Jobs Speech and tell you that when your McConnell was shown on the tv my adult son and I LOL'd and my son suggested maybe McConnell had hemorrhoids! So, if two of you thought it, perhaps you can make a donation to his campaign... Preparation H. I love the camera pans too, and wish they'd do a split screen with Obama on one side and just audience panning on the other. We love to look for Al Franken. His funny face is always good for a laugh, even when he is trying to look serious.

Rosemary la Otra

P.S. to Mike - After posting my last comment I watched my recorded Daily Show from last night. He also mentioned the look on McConnell's face. Only instead of hemorrhoids, he said M looked like he'd just seen a dog with wheels instead of back legs roll by. lol

RLO

Rosemary la O, I'm so sorry about your dad. Whether anticipated or not, it is always tragic to lose one's father. My thoughts and prayers are with you.

Cheryl, what a rollicking recap. Nicely done.

My favorite line:

"Roberta isn’t breathlessly hot waiting for him but seems breathless from being hot."

To have begun this show as such a mope, Roberta has certainly bloomed. She is currently stealing this show and rapidly becoming my favorite... sorry Matilde.

I'm not anticipating a big demand for I ♥ Robi tee shirts, however.

By the way, Renata's fortune said the person she is with is not honest... well duh...

Good news, the fires are under control (well 85%... whatever that means) My daughter's home is OK, they can begin returning home today... horses first... do you guys realize how much horses poop?

Carlos

Rosemary: God bless you and your loves ones in this difficult time. I'm very sorry for the loss of your father and echo Carlos' eloquent sentiments.

Diana

Carlos: Let me also say that my thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. On a lighter note, I can only imagine you will have quite a bit to "clean up". :)

Diana

Rosemary La O: I'm so sorry to hear about your dad. It sounds like he lived a rich life, loved by many.

Carlos: So glad to hear that your daughter's home is safe, and that soon your home will be safe from horse poo.

Cheryl, this is just a superb recap - thank you!

Agree w/ Daisy that Roberta was at her cualquiera best last night. Icky. Vivi's "Devil in a Blue Dress" is spot on. But agree that Ezequiel is about to learn an alternate point of view.

Re Constanza, Honorio, Adriana, Chema, Matias - as Dieter would say, "Your story grows tiresome." Also, does Constanza own any clothes in a color other than pink?

Rosemary, condolences on the loss of your father - it's not something you "get over." But on a much lighter note, delighted that your son shared my opinion of McC's demeanor!

Carlos, go thou forth as Hercules and clean the Augean Stables!

Rosemary: Yes, Hon is now certain that Blanca drugged him and nothing happened, and he said so to Connie. She seems to believe it too. Now why can't those crazy kids get along?

As for the way the ladies dress, I think someone mentioned some time ago that she would love to have Connie's rocking body- not bad at middle age or any age. She always wears clothes that show off her figure and I think the pink dress she's wearing in this episode looks particularly hot on her. I simply could not believe tha a man who had been in prison, and before that separated from his wife for weeks, would turn down her hugs and kisses when she greets him looking like that as he emerges from prison. Maybe he needs a hit on the head like Mati got?

Wowzers Cheryl, your first sentence alone is a masterpiece. I read it, chuckled, and thought-bubbled "Now that is precisely why I am addicted to this show!"

I got very excited about the birdie fortune teller because when I was in Guanajuato a couple of years ago I loved those little birds that could peck out our fortunes.

"Fina has taken on an art project...", yes, and that is why I always set my cup of hot tea down BEFORE reading your recaps my dear. And in the same paragraph the truly poetic: "No amount of luxury can muffle the lonely bitterness erupting out of Fina."

daisynjay, last night it occurred to me that Doc Marina seems to be a much better partner for Jero because of her consistent inner calm. Shame on me for going against the telenovela gods on this one but they seem like a good pair for so many reasons.

Where do I send the check for the I Heart Lazaro and Carlos Tees? Or better yet, hats. I love their hats.

Thanks again Cheryl, I do believe this superb recap is one of your best. I adore how you divided the plots into fiesta themes. Awesome title too!

Rosemary La Otra, my deepest condolences for your father. That is very sad news indeed and my heart goes out to you. I am amazed that, in the midst of your sadness, you still manage to be clever and funny. Frumpy? Never!! However your Inez and traveling skirt comments are hilarious. Take care amiga, and know that you are in our hearts and prayers.

Carlos, that is simply wonderful news about your daughter. How fantastic that she will get to return home along with her massively pooping horses. Hopefully you will have some beautiful flowers next spring as a result of all that fresh compost.

Rosemary, so sorry for your loss. I too send my thoughts and prayers to you and your family.
Have to say, you had me smiling big-time over your "I dress like Inez" comment. I would venture to say more of us than not would have to admit we dress a lot more like an Inez or Manuela than a Nata or Mariana :)

Carlos, great news for your daughter!! May the rains fall soon!

You know, speaking of tee's, with the way Hon and Matias are always standing close and hanging together, maybe we should think of getting them "I'm with Stupid" tees.

Cheryl, thanks for the spectacular recap. The title is perfect. So many cranky people, so little time....

Carlos, no I heart Roberta for me, but I do like her a lot and am glad she is getting better parts to play. She does Devil in a Blue Dress especially well. I'm glad your daughter's house is ok. I've been out of town but have followed the comments and worried for your daughter.

Rosemary la Otra, I'm so, so sorry about the loss of your father. You are in our thoughts and prayers.

I'd love to be able to dress like Ines - my style is more like Laz...

Vivi, I'd have to say that Marina was medically unethical but telenovelaly sound. I approve.

Thanks for everyone's good wishes... gonna miss the horsies.

Carlos

Did my ears deceive me, or did Fina threaten to make Gina a widow once again? Gonzo's made it to the top of the hit list.

Uh oh, I missed that Vivi. Gonzo had better grow some eyes in the back of his head.

Emilia, LOL! Having had the pleasure of actually meeting you I respectfully disagree that your look is "Lazaro". But hey, it's not a bad look for casual work around the vineyard and probably a lot more comfortable than those uber-tight shirts that the Doctora wears.

Buenos días, amigos. Thanks to all for the kind comments. It is always fun to check the comments the morning after and today the break in the heat allowed me to have a refreshing sleep, get a cup of coffee and join the fun a little later than usual.

The plot didn't advance much but fiestas are good for comic and beauty relief and this episode was no exception.

Rosemary, I am so sorry for your loss. the death of a loved one may be a blessing of relief but it is never easy to say goodbye. I send you a big hug.

Vivi, yes good catch, I do remember hearing Fina say she would make Regina a widow again when she was muttering about the wedding she could ruin. Now she has more plan to make and perhaps a new collage for a wedding present.

Carlos, I am so relieved to hear the good news about your daughter's return to her home. We have a lot of horses here in Corrales so I know you can be optimistic about saving lots of money on fertilizer next spring.

And what I like about your medical ethics is that you can enjoy telenovela antics and plot demands in this fantasy world. Besides if we were very, very strict and realistic, how could we enjoy Marina's sexy medical outfits. Besides, she is extremely sensitive and compassionate in her dealings with patients that are not testing her patience liek Roberta. She was really offended by Fina's attempt to bribe her back in the hospital and was quietly but firmly pointing the blame on the sterility on their late response to Roberta's condition.

I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed the little dust-up between Jerry and Augie. I was cheering for maximum damage to both participants. Once again that metiche padre had to butt in on the fun.

Booo!

Carlos

I actually liked the Ezek and Roberta scene. Nice catch Vivi that she was indeed the devil wiht a blue dress on. She at least wins the wardrobe She is having way more fun than anyone else in Baja and after this Ezek will not be able to be so high and mighty with Alfonsina. I smell reconciliation in the air for them.

Diana, I hate to admit it but the chemistry between Jero and Marina is much healthier than he has with Renata but I still look forward to the big reconciliation. I just wonder how long Renata will remain blinded to Augie's continuing evil deeds to do damage to La Bonita and therefore Jero.

JayGee, it will be interesting to see if Fina outs herself as a babynapper when she goes in for the kill on the trust fund. She seems more irrational with each episode so she may not care. So far she has operated with ease as people don't seem willing to blame her for all the mayhem she has caused.

I was impressed how both Augi and Jero were able to throw in some good punches. At least they have some muscle behind all their posturing. I enjoyed the damage to their pretty-boy pusses and was also hoping for a bit more fun.

Ah well...it's off to work for me so I will have to check in later.

Marina and Jero have one big advantage that Renata and Jero didn't have-- he tells her 100% truth about EVERYTHING. Oh, and he has never HATED her. That kind of poisoned their relationship from the beginning.

Jero and Marina are very cute together, but I don't see the same kind of passion as I see with him and Nata.

Muchas gracias, Cheryl! The plot is moving sluggishly but there were some great visuals with all those fiestas goin' on.

Good news and bad news on the front-lines of Caray. I'm happy to hear everything turned out well, Carlos! Here's hoping for some rain.

Rosemary La Otra, I'm sorry for your loss. Losing a parent hurts no matter what the circumstances. We're thinking of you.

I want an 'I heart Lazaro' tee more than any of the others. He has been a consistent gentleman and I love him for it. Chivalry goes a long way for me. ;)

Ezequiel has no idea what he's getting into. Robi will eat him alive and smile as she chews up and spits out the pieces.

Can we *please* get a happy reunion between Connie and Honorio sometime before Ultimos Capitulos? I miss the days when they were our "ideal couple". The only thing keeping them apart is Hon's determination to be miserable, which in turn makes Connie miserable too.

Vivi, you are so right that Hon is nuts for turning away his beautiful, caring wife. Connie might wear pink a lot but she wears it well. I think the contrast between the bright color and her dark hair is what makes her look so dramatic and classy. Let's hope Hon sees the light soon.

Fina is cooking up another master plan. Not only is she planning on somehow using Roberta to torment Regina, she just moved Gonzo up to the top of her hit list. He better sleep with one eye open until Fina ends up in the manicomo. Maybe she and Blanca can share a padded cell together.

Amy

Cheryl, thank you for the great recap from first line to the last.

Rosemary La Otra, I am so sorry for your loss, my heart and prayers go out to you and your family. May peace and perpetual light shine upon your father.

I LOL that after the Jero/Augie dust-up that Jero's suit was still spotless.

I think that Jero would soon tire of the calm Dr. Tata. He needs the passion of Renata.

Poor Augie can't handle the passion of Renata so as my husband says, he just needs to rent (spare girls).

Dr. Tata looked must better in native Mexican attire than her usual professional uniform.

Rosemary #1

OT: Carlos, I am so glad to hear that your daughter and livestock can return home. I am sure it is a relief to all.

I bet your garden will be quite aromatic today with the 102 heat.

Rosemary #1

according to the CC's in spanish, the end of Renata's 'fortune message' said
things are not what they seem and the person at her side is not as honest (as seems).

So let me get this straight. If Constanza HAD slept with Chema, she and Honorio would be fine right now, but because she lied about being unfaithful, he's mad? Well there's an easy fix to this. Sleep with Chema before the headaches do him in! Then Honorio has nothing to be upset about, and maybe Matias can lighten up a little about the kiss between him and Adriana. Is there nothing a little roll in the hay with a hunk can't fix?

Also, if Fina is going to keep with the blackmail notes, she needs a craft room. That newspaper is going to get everywhere in her nice office. Renata's not coming back, and her room would be the perfect evil-schemes room.

Martaivett and Carlos, I meant to say thanks for catching the "Not hones" in the fortune. I was distracted in that scene by Augie making eye contact with the guy over by the games which we found out later was another contact for his latest nasty business to ruin La Bonita's' vineyards. Putting the fortune in that perspective, no wonder it made him especially irritated. We can't say that Renata hasn't had plenty of messages and hits about what a cad she is living with. How long will we have to wait for this light to dawn?

Kelly, you are hilarious: Is there nothing a little roll in the hay with a hunk can't fix? and Renata's not coming back, and her room would be the perfect evil-schemes room.both so on point.

Mike, Emilia and Sylvia, greetings and thanks for your always supportive commnets and funny retorts. Sylvia I especially agree that when speinding time on the posting and messages, I am thankful everyday that I found this community. It's like daily mental cleansing and the laughter is the best part.

Just now had time to get to the recap and comments and what fun! and love the turnaround title Cheryl.... "Even more Truths Come to Darkness". Very clever.

Also appreciate the translation of the pesos bids into dollars as my eyes automatically glaze over whenever money or numbers of any kind are mentioned. (Can one be dyslexic just with numbers?...I seem to be.)

Loved the little birdies outing Augie's perfidy. The Universe keeps sending hints to Renata about what a slime he is...when will she listen?

DO hope they will not let Gonzalo be killed off. The writers wouldn't do that, would they? Widowing Regina twice seems like overkill.

@Rosemary la Otra...thanks for letting us know what's going on in your life. With Alzheimer's, sometimes you feel like you 'lost' the parent long before the actual death. My mother changed so much during the last 16 years of her life, but there were still little hints and peeks at the mom who once loved us and worried about us. I hope you had some special moments with your dad, as well as a lifetime of happy memories from the earlier years. They say that being loved actually changes the cells in our brains, so just know that you carry his love and caring with you forever. And your Inez skirt story was a hoot!

Thanks Cheryl for an excellent recap and bloggers for lots of interesting comments. But where are Lila and Blusamurai? Haven't heard from them in ages.

@Cheryl..you were commenting as I was writing. Notice we practically had identical comments about Renata. Great minds....

Mike, I have always gotten a kick out of the Augean Stables imagery. It's always a favorite of us consultants who want to feel effective or at least was often used when I worked at PriceWaterhouseCoopers in the late 90's. Hubris kind of comes with the territory.

This site made me think further of who Augeus (or Augei) was and how close it sounds to our own Augie and what a mess of BS he hasn't yet cleaned up.

I'm just playing with words here but doesn't it work?

Wow, such an erudite group. Cheryl, thank you for the link, what a fun and fascinating story.

Checking in. family and house ok, even though fires that erupted yesterday are only 3-5 miles away, across a couple of main roads and its there, clearly visible from anywhere around my house...
Good thing that area is pretty much bare (no residence areas connected to it... just grass/woods/park... anyway,
i will be sad when we drive by on sunday on way to church and get to see the devastation.

Marta, thank goodness you and your family are OK. You were very close!!
