Cuando Me Enamoro #107 Monday 9/19/11 Kiss of the Spider Woman; Fina and Pepa Melt Into One Monster

This picture has absolutely nothing to do with Cuando Me Enamoro, I just wanted to show you what I have been working on this week, besides it's a cute bird, no?

The games are afoot:
Fina calls Regina to begin the tormenting announcement that she is Pepa. Who is this , the woman who stole your daughter 25 years ago . Have the rats eaten your tongue and I am the one who sent you her baby clothes and the author of all those anonymous notes. When Regina starts to scream, Fina assures her, I am the running the show here. I am going to answer just a couple of your questions. Is she okay? Is she hurt? Where is she? And you have waited all these years, a few days isn’t going to matter. You have something I want and I have something you want . It’s easy. What is it that you want, money? Oh money, at last we speak the same language gurgles Fina,

Jeronimo meets with Constanza in a restaurant, he thinks Fina is capable of almost anything maybe even murder, does she agree? Consta says, it terrifies me that my brother has been at the side of this woman all these years, but, yes indeed I think she is capable of murder. He brings her up to date on all that Fina and Roberta have done and they talk about whom could have killed Rafael. Jero puts forth his idea that Fina is the only one with motive. She was against the relationship between Roberta and Rafa. Jero disgorges all the perfidy of Fina, she lied so many times, she told him that Rafa’s lover was Renata. Consta seems disturbed but not surprised. Could she have gone to the finca to kill Rafa? Consta will help Jero do anything to help him get to the truth. They review facts he doesn’t think Roberta was ever at the hacienda but Fina might have been. He has to prove what he thinks with real facts. He admits that his suspicions about Rafa’s death led him to be suspicious of Renata and ruin their relationship, but Fina told him she was the lover so he believed her. If she is the killer, he will not spare her, she will pay. Consta asks, do you know how much this is going to hurt Renata? Yes but I am determined to prove who is Rafa’s murderer. He needs to compare the letter found with Rafa to see if it is the same handwriting as Fina’s. Consta says she can get him a handwriting sample for proof. He bemoans that Fina’s actions have resulted in Renata and him not being able to put their relationship back together.

Fina tells Regina that she want her ransom money before her daughter receives her inheritance. She isn’t going to wait for the 25th birthday. And you can’t tell anyone and no one means no one. And if you don’t do what I want, who knows, maybe I’ll have to repent and KILL HER. Fina is pleased she has Regina in her hands. Regina still thinks Regina junior is a little girl and begs to know that she hasn’t been hurt, she is suddenly back to 25 years ago. Fina threatens that she will run into bad luck if she tells anyone and don’t call the police and maybe I will decide to let you meet your daughter. Afterwards, you will have to promise to forget who I am and never look for me. After you get the money there will be more instructions. Fina smirks once too often and hangs up on a sobbing Regina, who begs don’t hang up on me, she sobs and talks to dios a lot for guidance.
Renata explains the Roberta debacle to Augie who acts like cool as an iced drink. You must feel pain? Yes. But you seem like a strong person and he then tells her that she can reconstruct her life and build a family circle with patience and without lies and trick he and she can build their future life together. He wants to go straight to her father to begin the process. She tells him with all the other problems her family is facing this is not the day. So he gives her until the weekend (You know what I think about this).

Gonzo looks at a family picture and says he can’t believe she betrayed all of the family. Inspite of his love, affection and protection. All that time she cared only for the money. For the first time in my life I am learning what you are really capable of sand I nave never felt such contempt (desprecio).

Fina explains more facts of her plan to Roberta back at the empty house. The maid announces Renata is here to see Fina but Fina says doesn’t have any reason to see her. Renata bursts into the counseling session. She doesn’t want her but Renata says deal with it, I’m here and you will talk to me one last time.

Regina explains to Inez and Isidro that she needs to be careful. Isidro says that she could loose everything and still not get her daughter back. She doesn’ t care what she loses if she gets her daughter and wants to play by Pepa’s rules. Isidro points out that she may have to mortgage her house, sell the practice center, convert all of her investments and assets into cash just to try to meet Pepa’s demands. They want her to be sensible but she tells them they must help her on her plans or not and no one can tell Gonzo. She gets up as though to leave, she is so unwilling to entertain their offers of advice.

Fina stomps out of Roberta’s room followed by an irate but resolute Renata, while Roberta says aloud so her sister can hear, ah Renata you are so detestable. Just then Roberta gets a call from (must be) Augie given her slinky sexy look and tone. Ah yes she wants to meet him and likes his plans to meet now. She is so glad of another chance to trick her sister, rather her half sister. If only you knew, she giggles. (Remember this moment, you woogie ones that get all sniffly, soft about rehabilitating this little viper, including yours truly!)

Renata and Fina go down the staurs yelling. Renata demands, why did she mistreat her all these years and always prefer the precious Roberta. Because she is named for her father who adored her, his name was Roberto. Fina tells her that Roberto was her father too but she and Roberta have separate destinies. Why have you betrayed me. You mean nothing to me from now on. Fina is having fun now, my love for you is that of a true mother. No it isn’t true, love is deeds not just words. You need psychiatric help. Fina insists she is not crazy. When Roberta comes down to enjoy the fight, Renata says, Roberta, she needs help but I am out of here. Fina assures her that she will never be able to say goodbye to her mother. Renata defies this threat saying yes I can and this is goodbye forever. Goodbye Roberta, She goes out muttering to her self that she misses Jeronimo so much.

Roberta doesn’t get it, as usual. Notice she doesn’t get much that isn’t spelled out for her. but Fina knows she has to make the case that Renata is her only daughter and Roberta is Regina’s. The dollar signs dance in their heads. Let the games begin.

Call me, call me, Jeronimo, I’m waiting. Marina de las Tatas is waiting and missing Jeronlmo too. But he enters his DF apartment. This whole lie cost me Renata but I am going to get to the bottom of everything.

Honorio comes home with more flowers (someone has gotten smarter) and Consta and he talk of love and kiss. (oh thanks for two seconds of relief from the evil, hateful ones). Her eyes are beautiful and she is just glad they are able to see him here with her. They pledge to stay in love and clear with each other for all time. No one will come between them ever. Right on! We can only hope.

Back at the Bonita they wedding list is coming together with Manuela’s help. Carlos says they are deciding on some of his cousins who will surely love Mati and not be like his parents and of course Sabina must be invited. A big pitcher of orchata arrives for the jolly table. A giggly couple comes in on a cloud, oh it’s Lazaro and Keri to announce they are going to get married too. Carlos says they are thinking who will be the witnesses (testigos) and best man and woman (padrinos). Are they going to make a joint wedding? They all laugh and Manuela observes of Laz and Kari, that thank god they are not going to wait any longer. Mati obvserves that her Momma in heaven must very, very happy at this scene. She congratulates her brother and then kisses Keri whom she declares will be the best sister-in-law in the world.

The grey sole , aka Dr. Nesme, is still beeping and pulsating, just enough that the nurse observes that he doesn’t wake up, he only repeats the names Jeronimo and Kari. The doctor says , I think Kari is his wife’s name . And when will Jeronimo come to the prison? Only when he gets back from Enseñada. (Hmmm, they’ve been keeping things from us, just like some of you predicted.)

Adriana hugs the big bear (remember that was Matias gift to her and we’ve wondered where it went) and oh that’s where it is . Renata comes in and hugs the Chema lion and says she broke off with her mama says all is a mess but she has to close circles. She feels like an orphan.

And as if this wasn’t already becoming the night of the living dead and now especially for those of you who missed BSC heeerrrre’s Blanca!! She is making a breathy phone call to Honorio, making her straight jacket look like an evening gown somehow, or is it just her sultry voice, saying surely he hasn’t forgotten her and their love?? How does she have a phone. He answers, you are completely loca. (I’ll second that motion) That ‘s a pretty good guess, Hon, better handle this a bit smarter this time. He does the best thing, he hangs up quickly while she smirks as only she can on the other end.

Fina replays the scene with the R necklace with the diamonds. on baby Regina and says ah, Regina, you don’t know that both girls have the exact same R now. Now I have you totally in my hands. She will use it to further convince Regina that she is the real deal. She mutters, she has many surprises for Regina.

Jero swirls fine wine in a big red wine glass and says Fina will pay for all she has done. He swears to get even with Fina who ruined his life. A hot and eager Marina de las Tatas calls to press him, How did it go, are you finished yet? He tells her, Roberta denied everything at first, but we had her. Hesitating, she says, and Renata? He says a bit mumbly but clearly, it’s all over with her at least for now, there are just too many obstacles in our way. She only hears the first part apparently, and are you sure you are free to go on with your life? She presses like Augie does this mean that lo nuestro Our thingy can go on at top speed, as though that thing. our relationship, continues a foot and Jero is struck dumb for an answer. MariTata is filling in the blanks in quite the same way that Augie takes silence for consent. Ohohohoh.

Do we have a future together, she asks again, Well yes he says but hesitates that he has to finish this business with his brother’s murder before he can begin. She is so glad to be a part of this part of his life and he says you have no idea how important you have been in the end of the last chapter in solving this problem. He will always be grateful. But she gushes, she doesn’t want his thanks, she wants his love. Perhaps Jero has really learned to listen as he seems to hear her hotness and he says to be really honest I am not over Renata and I am still completely in love with her. Marina chirps that she would think it exceptional if you weren’t feeling some little bit for her. She gets off the phone and rocks rhythmically back and forth in her chair only hearing what she wants. Your voice paints a world of color, she sighs. (and your voice and starry eyed look paint a world of illusion, I sigh.)

The table is set at HonCon’s house, Honorio tells her that no one was calling. (let’s hope that isn’t a dumb decision) and Adriana and a sad looking Renata come in from their bedroom, while Gonzo and Matias come in the front door. Matias reminds them of the apartment he has which now is all redecorated and ready for him to move in. The girls announce that they too will move to Adri’s apartment. Consta is sorry but Adriana points out that they can all meet often like this but the couple will have a more romantic time alone together. Gonzo says we are all taking new pathways to make a new life. How happy these meals seem without Roberta and Fina to dampen spirits.

Renata tells her Papa that she is sad because she said goodbye forever to Fina and Roberta. Mat agrees that this was a good move for her to make.

Regina checks with her financial consultant to see how much money she can get her hands on immediately. The consultant shows her how much she thinks they can get for the house, the consulting business and other assets. The consultant says it will take some time to liquidate all these things since the market is not very active (actually it is night and closed) and a bit slow right now. Regina asks God to help her get all the money that Pepa wants. She looks at photo of the adorable baby Regina, Jr. noting that almost 25 years have gone by without you How much I have missed you.

Inez and Isidro decide they have to respect Regina’s wishes for secrecy but Inez is worried about the danger and they discuss that Fina is dangerous and a woman without scruples. Isidro says, she is not a child, so we must respect her decisions and just support her. Inez says but if we are not here how can we do that, Isidro gets edgy, we can support her from here or there, this is just a pretext to argue about the move. Stupidly, (my opinion) he decides they cannot tell Gonzo against her withes they must just help her be more stupid. He gets up and takes his stupidity and anger into the other room. Inez admits to herself, she just doesn’t know how to explain to him that she doesn’t want to leave here.

The dinner table discussion centers on how could Fina commit such barbaric acts all this time. Fina needs a psychiatrist. Matias reveals that he saw her do mean things so many times. Gonzo says, why didn’t you ever tell me? How could I, Papa, you were always so in love with her.

Renata says her father’s name was Roberto and Consta gets that tingling sensation again saying to herself, I am pretty sure Regina said her husband’s name was Roberto. Gonzo says to Renata, Fina was so cruel and hard on you. I have made a decision to break with her and with Roberta forever and you and Matias are my true children. They kiss and all hold hands, the three smiling at each other. Matias is almost as glad.

Augie and Roberta drink fine wine. Roberta thinks she is the one who suffered from tis outing by Marina, probably the whole village knows the story. She taunts him that he is only worried that Renata will find out that Roberta is sleeping with him and will go back to Jeronimo. Augie decides she should shut her pie hole and Roberta agrees that talk isn’t what is called for they decide to boink more and worry less, at least right now. As the village talks (if they even care) they kiss and undress.

Still at dinner, Matias thinks Roberta will complain but mostly wants money. Matias can change his prenuptial by the revelation of the lie in the agreement now revealed to be Soto’s doing. Gonzo thinks they will resolve it soon (it only takes money with these two harpies) . Honorio changes the subject wanting to know how it went when Renata made sure that Jero was to be thanked for the loan and the changed relationship with the bank. Renata says she didn’t have time because Augie came when she was on her way to the bank. Gonzo waxes all grateful. Lets thank Augie for all he did to protect you. Renata almost chokes but Adriana springs a nice diversion of attention demanding more salad. She gets them to pass the salad, discomfort avoided. Matias‘ phone rings, it’s a call from boring sister of hit-and-run who is just thinking about him and so available and does he want her to come pick him up. Sweetly, he says he’d love to talk to her but he changes the plans to a coffee date for tomorrow. Adriana looks on with a knowing look.

Carlos calls Jero and tells him that the wine carrying Rafa’s label is ready to be produced. and by the way, the jail in Ensenada called wanting him about something pressing. Jero, says no problem but looks like it’s a problem.

Tata gushes to Tio the Padre that Jero tells her that he is through with Renata. Padre doesn‘t want to rain on her parade (aguafiestas) but some love is forever and he believes that the love of Jero and Renata is just this kind. However, she is so gushy now that she can openly fight for his love. She argues that they’ve said they can’t live with each other so the field is open. It make me feel so happy, can’t you be happy with me? He says at least take it calmly and she just wants him to be happy for her, he looks anything but. (And I used to think he was so dense.)

Manuela walks under a tree. She sees the kissing Carlos and Mati who are so happy Hugging by the fountain so we can’t hear what they say well, are Lazaro and Kari. He says that god has been witness to his love for her. She confesses that she often woke in the night to wish his hands and his kisses were hers. He will love her forever and she says promise me he swears to her. Going forward, we will be together forever. (doomsday phrase) Kari is finding out what real attractlon is all about. From today, I will dedicate the rest of my life to make you happy.

Matilde still talks about her thought she would never marry because of the curse on her. Carlos cheerfully tells her, but our love is a benediction not a curse. The kitchen helper comes up and asks Manuela what is she doing. She is just watching the lovers, and she only wishes that the Jero’s and Renata’s love would have arrived in time to work out for them like this.

Adriana playfully taunts Renata to bring Augie in front of everyone so she can decide what she feels and how sure she is. Renata makes quick excuses that she has to go do so many things, They two plan to come back to get their things and go to the apartment after work. Matias comes out offering to Renata that they could car pool together but Renata has to go to the bank to see about the Jero loan before going to the office. They tease each other with affection, she calls Matias a busybody (metiche). After Renata leaves, Adri says and I guess you and I are going in two cars so you can go out with Julietta. He says are you listening in to my conversations? She says no, it was obvious that she called you during dinner last night. He says, but we are just friends just like you and Chema are friends. Like Chema? mocks, Adriana. He wants to know, are you jealous? I am waiting until you make your mind, Adriana doesn’t really act like she needs to make up her mind but he goes on, Julietta is who I can talk with. He thinks they are in a competition. Adriana says what competition. I think there is a competition, don’t you think there is a competition here?

Fina and Regina each dress in front of mirrors. Fina swears, Regina, you will never be happy. Meanwhile in the split screen, Regina says Roberto you have no idea how much damage you have done to me and your daughter getting involved with that woman.

Tomorrow you lucky ducks: Fina Pepa and Regina all meet in the park with sudden recognition all around. Just after Jero tells Consta that he guesses Renata and he aren’t meant to be together. And best of all, we get a redux of the airport terminal crash, Renata runs into Jero at the bank and they end up on the floor again and laughing again. Ahhhhh….throw us a bone, why don’t ya, writers! We’ve been so good and waited so very long.

Great recap Cheryl.

Fina is such a hateful bitch, the actress deserves an award for playing her, she can do evil masterfully.

Finally Andrecito was mentioned, he has been MIA for a while now. I'm wondering where Inez and Isidro's relationship is headed with Inez' reluctance to move away. And truly a boneheaded move on his part in not insisting that Regina involve the authorities but instead they will just sit by and watch Regina play into Fina's scheming.

Double yuck with BSC Blanca's heavy breathing "don't forget me people I'm still here" phone call to Hon and Dr. Pasty without a hospital gown. I feel for the nurse having to treat him and be subjected to his tufty tressed torso. Pull the covers up to his neck and spare us. Don't they know some of us are trying to eat while catching up with our novelas...

Thanks for giving us all the detail on this oh-so cheery episode Cheryl. At least there were a few sweet moments to balance out the "Yuks!"

I will sign the petition rubycantu to stop the bare-chested doc scenes. Chema's sick, can't we throw him in a hospital and have a much better chest view. I mean seriously. (Watch, if he winds up in the white halls, they'll cover him to the neck).

Oh, Mariana, thy name is delusional. Man, did she ever go into high school crush mode last night. It was almost embarrassing. I'll give Jero credit, he's admitting how he feels about Renata and she's just not listening. I still like her, but I'm hoping that this attitude doesn't turn her desperate if she thinks she's losing him.

And we have a BSC siting!! That heavy breathing was so funny. So it looks like our resident looney surfaces to do nasties another day.

Why is Isidoro suddenly a jerk? Is there a disease going thru some of these men. Cure one (Hon) and it jumps to someone else?

Is it me or is Berta getting more disgusting to watch...inner Fina coming out I guess. May anvils fall on her and Auggie! (Oh, and his jaw juts when he moves in for a kiss too!)

Hi. Enjoyed the recap and muchas gracias, CherylNewMex. I was not surprised to see BSCBlanca again. I thought she would be back. I still wonder at the possible connection between Hon and her. Unless it is just plain crazy, she went for him with a vengence and plans all in place to ruin him.

As for Dr. Death Reincarnate, I could have done without him. I thought they even had a funeral for him. Not the only one to be dead and buried and still happily alive. Remember Eva's benefactor in Eva Luna. Once again, beanie time.

JayGee

Cheryl: This was wonderful.

Your phrasing was masterful - a few of my favorites were: "Jero disgorges all the perfidy of Fina, she lied so many times..."" and Oh money, at last we speak the same language gurgles Fina".

Sigh. Still: "For the first time in my life I am learning what you are really capable of sand I nave never felt such contempt (desprecio)." Oh Gonzo, no....the depths of depravity to which FinaPepa has sunk have yet to be revealed.

Thank you for brightening the stark events with humor: "And as if this wasn’t already becoming the night of the living dead and now especially for those of you who missed BSC heeerrrre’s Blanca!!" Indeed. (Loved your comment fubycantu on that as well).

Sweet scenes of Lazaro and Kari and Carlos and Mati.

I still (sort of) hope Roberta can be redeemed. It's looking more hopeless with each episode. You are right Daisy that she is mimicking Fina but she was truly raised by a heinous monster - did she really ever have a chance?

Diana

I meant to say rubycantu - I loved your comment. Too early. Sorry!

Diana

Thanks so much Cheryl. You captured the building tension with much humor.

I never forget how hateful and spiteful Roberta is to her sister whenever there is a hint of redemption. She enjoys her sister's pain too much, and for no reason. Renata has been nothing but a good sister to her.

I think Andrecito got his role in Eva Luna and now they have to talk about him like he's just in the other room.

I had to laugh at how shocked Gonzo was to learn Fina had been cruel and abusive to Matias as a kid. This is the man who clearly missed that Fina was physically and emotionally abusing Nata for 15years right under his nose. Notice she didn't say anything when Gonzo expressed his sorrow at not knowing what Fina put Matias through in the short time he lived with them before deciding to live with his mom in Spain.

Had to laugh when Nata, with help from BFF Adri, changed the topic from Augie to salad. LOL!

Gina is playing right into Fina's hands. She knows her victim well. She's also laying the groundwork for the story that Roberta is Regina Jr. "Your dad loved your sister and so that's why I had to take extra care of her." Uh, huh. Dropping hints that Renata and Roberta didn't come to her at the same time, although they were born on the same day. Roberta did ask her how she's going to pull this off, without being discovered. The same question we've been asking. She said that by the time they do disover her, she'll have what she wants (the money). So I'm guessing she plans to take the money and run. Or she's super sure Gina won't press charges if she makes threats on her daughter's life.

Good morning amigos, Rubycantu, I think the Fina role did earn this actress a big award in Mexico. It is almost impossible to remember how sweet and lovely she was in Pasión so that speaks to her talent. And I love your phrase, "tufty tressed torso" blech!

Daisyinjay, the jerk virus does seem to hop around like it's on the back of a flea. Poor Isidro, has been immune up to now. He acts better when the Andrecito is in the room. And I am so happy that Jero is taking time to think these days, not that his truthiness had any effect at all on Miss Stars-in-her-eyes Marina. I found that scene annoying but mostly because it was very well played. It's a good counterpoint to Augie's delusional pulling on Renata. At least they (Renata and Jero) both have someone to dump later.

JayGee, I don't think any of us are thrilled with Dr. Nasty Nesme being back, I hope Jero can use him to further implicate Augie and/or Fina in Rafa's death. The Blanca bit just goes to show that Honorio is still capable of hiding some truth from Consta but I hope it doesn't go too far before he tells her BSC is Back in town or at least has a prncess phone in her cell.

Diana, bless you for still having faith that Roberta is redeemable. Hard as it is for me to grasp, she does have unfinished business with many of the characters and we need her to expose Augustin's true nasty nature.

Vivi, yes, Roberta does take one step toward the light and two back to the darkness. At least they have given the role some nuances and sometimes she does seem to be the only character enjoying herself and her evil ways. At least she isn't homocidal so maybe they can pull her away from Fina. Even she seems aghast at Fina's depth of sociopathy. Fina acts like she will get the money and just dump all of them, even Roberta who afterall has just been her free ride ticket since conception. And wasn't the salad ploy a great Adriana moment. Adri is also very astute with Matias in his jealous, feisty moods. She is a great manipulator but in a good sense.

Fabulous title Cheryl. And I started laughing when you carped about us "woogie ones" who get all "sniffly" and hopeful for redemption of skanks like Roberta. She's certainly racking up nasty points at the moment.

I almost had to turn the TV off last night, I was so uncomfortable with the cruel emotional blackmail of Regina. Very hard to watch and listen to.

And the plot turns are so abrupt that the behavior doesn't match the character of the players. Isidro has always been kind and compassionate. Now suddenly he's a cranky macho jerk. Marina has always been mature and centered, now she's a gushing middle schooler warbling about her latest crush to the Padre.

Did enjoy your characterization of Dr. Nesme "still beeping and pulsating". The actual view...no. The characterization...yes!

Horrid show last night. Great write-up though. Looking forward to Renata and Jeronimo's romantic collision in tonight's episode. As you said, Throw us a bone writers!

Wonderful recap Cheryl. Very funny.

"Remember this moment, you woogie ones that get all sniffly, soft about rehabilitating this little viper..."

Guilty as charged. I think it was Coni who gave us a hint last night by saying that the worst thing that could have happened to Roberta was to be loved by Fina. I'm hopeful.

Glad to see that Big Bear found his way home.

"Jero swirls fine wine in a big red wine glass..."

I think that Juan Soler must be one of those wine nuts the way he handled that glass even sniffing as he took a sip.

Carlos

Well, he certainly is a Cheerios aficionado. :)

Mmm..., Cheerios and wine! Can it get any better? I'd think a nice Riesling for grownups and Eiswein for the kids. Give 'em that sugar blast to start the day.

Mah-velous, Cheryl! You hit all the points and your translations of parts where I had no clue what they were saying is much appreciated.

OK, I'll just say it: where the hell is Dr. Van Helsing and his wooden stake to put a real end to Alvaro?

Very disappointed to see Doc Marina regress to the behavior of a 14 year old.

Thanks so much for the fantastic recap, Cheryl! Such gloom and doom last night with the promise of more to come. Your sense of humor truly helps get through it all!

Fina is playing all her cards right. If she bankrupts Regina before revealing that "Roberta" is Regi's daughter, Fina might be able to use that money to avoid getting caught for kidnapping. Isidro and Ines should absolutely involve the authorities, particularly since Fina is demanding ransom some 20 years late. Hopefully Regina won't lose her head in all this.

I needed a good dose of BSC last night. Fina might be a sociopath but Blanca is a psychopath and is just creepy enough that I like watching her. Doc JustDieAlready, on the other hand, needs to walk in front of a moving bus.

"Going forward, we will be together forever. (doomsday phrase)" Well said, Cheryl. Karina and Lazaro are so doomed, it's depressing. I can't help but think that Honorio and Constanza might be in for tough times again too. All this talk of "They pledge to stay in love...for all time. No one will come between them ever" feels like an invitation for doom.

Speaking of doomed, I'm still on the fence about Roberta. I think once she finds out that Mami Dearest killed the only guy she ever loved (lied to her about it), Berta might make a switch from the dark side. Whether or not it will stick is the question. She might be too far gone.

Amy

Thanks, Cheryl for the excellent recap of a monster of an episode.

I admit, I'm a woosie, wooly, woogie (what DID you say?) about Roberta. She's got that Soberon - was that her papa's name? - denseness but I'd like to think there's hope for her.

Judy, I thought about you during the Pepa/Gina phone call. So hard to watch... Figured you would have to hide behind your hands if not turn off the tv. Bless your tender heart!

I could have done without BSC Blanca. Forever. And Ever. Please, Honorio, tell Connie, then go to the authorities and have them yank that princess phone from the wall and put it where the sun don't shine!!

Oh yeah, Isidro... What is his problem? If he doesn't have fleas, at least he has a big ole burr under his saddle. Sure would like to know why he is all of a sudden in such a rush to get away. And why he is so grumpy with what-her-name. (Gee, I think I need a nap!)

Great recap. The birdie picture is beautiful! Where did you find such a sassy-looking creature?

"he decides they cannot tell Gonzo against her wishes; they must just help her be more stupid." Honestly. I know Regina is too verklempt to think straight, but SOMEONE needs to do some strategizing and save her from herself. They need to use some of Regina's money to hire a professional kidnap/ransom negotiator. There should be a trace on Regina's phone and a detective staying there ready to listen in on and record phone calls and coach Regina on strategy. I suppose Regina think's it's the epitome of love that she's willing to give up everything she has, including her own life if necessary, to get her daughter back, but if she loses everything and DOESN'T get her daughter back, what good is it? She needs to improve her chances at least, not just give away all her money without any plan to make sure Pepa follows through. Gah. Regina drives me nuts.

Matias is driving me nuts, too. I hate the way he always tells Adriana what she's thinking and feeling and won't listen to her. She deserves so much better. Maybe one of Carlos's brothers or cousins.

@Cheryl...love that picture!

@Emilia...ah, you know me so well. I WAS absolutely writhing with discomfort during those Fina/Regina scenes. A hopeless wuss to the end.

Why is Dr Death still alive? This has to be one of the nastiest plot turns because you know what's going to happen when Kari finds out (that is, if he doesn't crash her wedding).

Regina needs to get herself a good private eye and an honest detective. ASAP.

Oh, hey, one question. Does anyone know who Sabina - to be invited to C&M's boda - is? Another spare girl to replace Areli?

WOW--To Cheryl and all the commenters--masterful. We certainly had a nice long and entertaining recap and the rest had a lot to get off our chests (no disrespect to DrDruginducedComaComingtoLife).

Besides Andrecito, we've lost Diego. His story must be done. If Andrecito were important, they would have replaced him with an Andrecito II, as they did with Adri. Vivi--I think you got it. I was trying to figure out how he could be in two places at once (here and in EvaLuna) and not look much older. They overlapped. We're just seeing this one after EL.

We all know Fina will get her just desserts (not peach cobbler) at the end, but it's going to take some doing for her to make it to the end with so many people out to get her.

The only accomplice she has left is Berta. Everyone else is either dead or gone.

Auggie needs to be taken down a peg or two soon. Hopefully, with this crumb the writers are pitching us with the Nata-Jero encuentro, Nata starts to rethink how she feels about him and puts their compromiso on the back burner--then turns off the fire.

So BSC Blancaaa is not finished with Honorio. Do we really care?
NOK

Mike, Sabina is the woman who nursed Matilde back to health after Mati keeled over on the dirt road. She was also friends with Mati's and Lazaro's parents.

I actually like how pushy Augie is with Renata, because it just irritates her more and more. One of these days he'll go too far (to me, he crossed that line long ago, but Renata is distracted) and she'll dump him. Yay. Go ahead, Augie. Demand to make everything about you while Renata has a million bigger problems. Tell her a few more times to just forget about everything that matters to her. And please do all this in front of Adriana. Our voice of reason would NOT be having it.

Julia, got it, thanks. Glad she'll be invited. She's a nice lady.

Cheryl, is the bird a toucan?

My little Toucan frined is a keel-billed. I met him in January in northern Costa Rica at an eco-lodge where we went to photograph vultures who abound near the border with Nicaragua. He is totally free but easily seduced to pose wiht fresh fruit like bunches of bananas tied up high.

Boy is my keyboard getting sticky or is it getting dislexic. . .

Thanks, Cheryl, I think everybody has used all the superlatives to describe your cap. I agree! Amy, good point about the possible impact on Roberta of learning Monstermom killed the only man (if not person) that ever truly loved her. Roberta keeps readjusting her moral bar lower and lower every time she learns of a "new" act of depravity by Fina but I think murder will cause her to exit this deadly game of limbo. Bert may be mesmerized by mommy enough to justfy Fina's killing but NOT of Rafa. Would she leave the dark side with this revelation? I think so. Even though I still don't get this passing for Regina's daughter thing, if it does work Roberta's confessing it was all a lie is the only thing I could see redeeming her.

Having said that I want her to suffer for her gratuitously hurtful, slutty behavior.

Lila

Love the birdie! Toucans are so cool.

There still has to be hope for Roberta! I mean, she was raised by a looney toon after all. And you have to feel sorry for her when she's thinking of Rafa, the only person who could actually stand her. That said, she'll have to do something grand to earn her redemption, like maybe get a job or something brutal like that. She could go work at Regina's center (assumming this doesn't get liquidated to pay off Fina), and Selene will be her boss. Ha!

Perfect scenario, Kelly!

But Renata was raised by the same loony, and physically and mentally abused by her. If anything, SHE should be the one who enjoys hurting her sister and rubbing her misfortunes in her face.

But Renata was lucky enough to be ignored by her mother. Normally not a good thing, but in this case...

Kelly, what an interesting take on why Renata was able to grow up and not be a monster like Roberta. Hmmm, a new twist on benign neglect which was really just neglect from Fina. Even at one year Renata may be reflecting the love she got from good mom Regina and dad Roberto when Roberta was receiving constant attenton from a bitter, nervous, scheming Fina.

ouch! first a glass vase, then a fireplace stick... and a blood puddle on the floor... not a pretty picture for Connie... too bad for Monster that AntiHero and Ex-Jerko (Hono) already know what she (Connie) was up to and why.

Cheryl, your picture is amazing! What a delicious treat for me as I take a break from the whirlwind entertaining of guests to enjoy your scrumptious recap.

I haven't had a chance to view the episode, and probably won't until Thursday morning, sniff sniff, but your description of events is so thorough I felt I could actually see what happened.

I am one of the woogie ones who still holds out hope for Roberta. I flip flop of course, but this morning, not actually having seen her horrible laughing of Monday night, I am 'praying for her soul' so to speak.

BSCBlanca sighting...yes! I admit I was hoping she had not left us for good.

Cheryl and others, the recap and comments are delightful and a wonderful break for me. But today the weather is once again beautiful so I am off to entertain visitors with bicycles, hikes and BBQs. No surfing the net for them, they want action and so they shall get it.

Hi anyone! Is the cap for last night up and I just somehow can't locate it? I SO want to talk about last night -- Marta I was dropped-jaw impactada, not that Fina would do such a thing, but I had not figured poor Connie to be on the receiving end! Pobrecita de Connie!

Lila

I am eager for last night's run down too. It's not up yet, but Jules usually gets it up a bit later anyway.

Thanks, Vivi! Can't wait. What a capitulo!

Lila

Sylvia, you are a great hostess to take your guests to see the wonderss of the Bay, etc. We'll catch up with you later this week. My week is wacky too and will only get more so in the next 6 weeks. Yeah, the Martin's are coming to NM and I know they have been to see you. Wait'll you hear what activities we are concocting!

Vivi and Lila, I don't see Jules recap yet either so I will slip this in here because I am also bursting at the seams to discuss last night. Neither did I imagine that our lovely delicate Constanza would take the direct blow from Fina's next deadly act. At least the previews show the hospital monitors still beeping happily along, but then so are Dr. Nesme's...

Thanks, Cheryl! Oh my gosh! I hope they do not kill Connie! I was just thinking that Isidro had become such a jerk lately AND he suspects the truth about Fina, that somehow HE would get in the crosshairs of the demonic Fina. I must say these writers are certainly keeping our attention!

Lila

Should I post a discussion page? Does someone have Jules' contact?

I don't know. . .I hope that wouldn't be offensive to the recapper? maybe not, maybe something came up?

Lila

Hello friends, just a quick note. I don't think Jules would be offended if someone wants to post a header or a quickie for last night's episode. She must have gotten sidetracked; she usually has her post up by now.

It sounds like last night was a doozie!!

OK. I'll set one up.

Thanks Vivi.

Done. It's up.
