Teresa Wed 9/21/11 #143 Torn Between Two Sugar-Daddies

REPRISE
When we last left our little arribista, she was thrown in the middle of Arturo and Fernando, as they argued over her. They beseech her to affirm once and for all, which Sugar-Daddy she wants.

Teresa nervously ponders and says, “Arturo, you know, you and I are getting divorced.”

“Then your ambition carries more weight than your love for me”, Arturo says, dejected. “If you had told me that you fell in love with another, perhaps one day I could understand, but you’re leaving me for your [financial] interest..."

Fernando interrupts, “Teresa LOVES ME, is that so hard to understand?”

Arturo warns Fernando to enjoy her while he can: when she’s being pampered, Teresa will be by his side. If that changes, she’ll abandon him. Arturo throws the keys to the penthouse at Fernando, and then storms out.

Fernando and Teresa embrace and kiss, as she secretly agonizes for Arturo.

LUCIA'S HOME
Arturo has arrived at Lucia’s home. Luisa is staying there too. Arturo vents about what a bastard Fernando is and what just happened at the penthouse. Arturo says he needs a drink but Lucia intervenes.

PENTHOUSE
Fernando says, “Teresa, many think you're with me just for your financial interest. My mom insists that you...“

Teresa angrily interrupts, “Fernando, ENOUGH! Frankly if your money is going to be a problem, rather than a means to give pleasure and satisfaction, I’ll be WORSE OFF with you then I was with Arturo!!” She just can’t believe Oriana’s bad attitude! (Why, it’s giving her the vapors!)

Fernando says it’s a good thing that Teresa’s love for him is genuine because Oriana is separating her business holdings from Fernando and disinheriting him. Teresa is horrified!

Teresa regains her arribista composure, “It is unfortunate that your mother does not respect your decisions and treats you like a child who is punished for not doing what she wants.” Fernando totally agrees. Teresa feigns encouragement and promises to stand by her Sugar-Daddy.

GENO'S HOME
Geno is berating Ruben for being gone all day and not answering his phone. Geno warns him not to mess with her – when she calls he better answer, and she does not want him doing business with Fito.

Ruben says Geno only gives him crumbs and he can’t continue this way. Geno asks if this means he’s leaving her. Ruben says he has to look for work. Even if he has to defend criminals, whatever it takes.

Ruben dramatically pretends he’s leaving. He says his son is the only thing they had in common. He loves Geno, but can’t stand her attitude any longer and how she is always against him, as he starts to walk out.

Geno, begs him to wait and not to be angry, as she offers to give him back his testicles. Ruben says he’ll stay, but needs her to support him.

PENTHOUSE
Our favorite gata is having a gata nightmare. Teresa dreams she is surrounded by Mariano, Arturo, and Fernando as they pass her around to each other. (So many Sugar-Daddies, so little time). In her dream, Fernando says, “Now you're mine, Teresa, you are my prisoner”. Then she hears her father saying “Do the right thing”.

She wakes up bitterly crying as she reaches for her picture of her father, saying “Forgive me pappito. You know I love you. I love you very much...”

CHAVES HOME
Juana and her new brain-dead husband Sapberto come over to comfort Refugio. Actually Juana came over to comfort her. Jerkberto came over to say inappropriate things and make an ass of himself. Mission accomplished.

PENTHOUSE
Arturo arrives the next morning to pick up his belongings and doesn’t want to run into Fernando. Teresa tells him Fernando doesn’t live there, which he doesn’t believe, and of course they start arguing.

Arturo says he will have the divorce papers delivered today. Teresa’s anguish is evident. He gives her a card with his new address. She asks if it’s a rental home, but no, he’s going to be staying with Lucia.

Teresa practically bursts into flames with anger. She can’t believe he’s going to live with her. Arturo says he’s not like Teresa, managing multiple relationships. He accepted her offer to stay there and after the divorce, who knows, he may go for it, because she has shown an interest in him.

Teresa walks off in a huff, leaving him to gather his clothes. She lays on the sofa fuming, and crying.

Arturo sees that she’s very upset.

LUCIA'S HOME
Lucia confesses to Luisa that she sees Arturo in a romantic way, not just as her brother. She says he’s a great person. She tells Luisa that Arturo kissed her the other night when he was drunk, thinking she was Teresa.

Luisa supports the idea of a relationship budding between Arturo and Lucia. Their conversation is interrupted by a call from Fernando. Luisa wants nothing to do with him, so Lucia takes the call.
Fernando wants to give Luisa the mansion, as it has been in her family for generations. Fernando has a notary standing by to put the home in Luisa’s name. Lucia tells him Luisa wants no part of it. She doesn’t want Fernando trying to make up for what he did.

HECTOR'S OFFICE
Hernan is confiding in Hector that Esperanza refuses to be happy and is becoming more distant. He’s beginning to wonder if Esperanza agreed to be his wife just to give her child a father. Hector suggests that Hernan get her into therapy.

The subject changes to Aurora and Mariano. Hector doubts Mariano has changed. Hernan tells him not to be so rigid. Based on what he saw at Armando’s funeral, Mariano has gotten over Teresa.

LEDESMA HOME
Ruben is at the door and Esperanza tries to keep him from entering. He forces his way in. Ruben says he has been researching the baby’s whereabouts on his own and has clues. He can’t tell the police because the baby’s life is at risk.

He says this is her last chance to see her son. He promises he can get her son returned, but in exchange he wants her to leave Hernan and once again be with him. Ruben says he still loves her and “knows” she loves him. He is under the delusion that Esperanza only married Hernan for convenience. Esperanza tells him it’s not like that.

Ruben continues his delusion and says he wants Espe, Rodrigo, and he to be a family. He forces a kiss on her and then leaves. Esperanza wipes her mouth in disgust and is confused about what to do.

CHAVES HOME
Aurora and Mariano stop by to visit Refugio. FF>>

PENTHOUSE
Teresa tells Arturo he still loves her, even if he is living at Lucia’s house. She kisses him passionately. Arturo pulls away and says that may be, but he will forget her. He grabs his suitcase and leaves. Teresa cries and chases after him, to no avail.

HECTOR'S OFFICE
Mariano enters and tries to assure Hector that he loves Aurora. He explains they are novios. Hector objects for the thousandth time that Mariano is going to chase after Teresa and hurt Aurora. Mariano doesn’t want to cause problems between Hector and Aurora, especially since she no longer has her mother. Mariano proposes a truce: can they just get along for Aurora’s sake. The ball is in Hector's court.

CHAVES HOME
Teresa visits Refugio. They talk about Refugio starting over in life and Teresa says she will help take care of her. Teresa even suggests that Refugio could become more cultured – travel, go to concerts, get some schooling - which gives Refugio a good laugh.

The subject changes to Arturo and Teresa explains she’s getting a divorce. She lies that Arturo fell in love with another woman and went to live with her.

Teresa calls Fernando who is at the fancy Tennis Club. Fernando is upset that Teresa didn’t let him stay with her last night. She rolls her eyes like he’s such a schmuck. She says it’s just because she was depressed about her dad. She fakes some kissy-kissy affection for her new Sugar Daddy and says she’ll meet him at the club.

VECINDAD
Juana tells Patty that she is moving forward in earnest to adopt a child.

LUCIA'S HOME
Arturo is working from Lucia’s home. He and Lucia seem to be starting a friendship. He mentions that Teresa was furious about him living there. Lucia says she is obviously still jealous.

Lucia suggests Arturo think about rebuilding his life. She tells him they are a good team and she wants to work with him on that. They start playfully putting a list together of activities to help Art get back on track.

TENNIS CLUB
Oriana and Fernando argue about separating their business interests. Fernando wants to minimize the impact and keep the business growing. Oriana is willing to lose money so that Teresa has less. She would rather her money went to stray dogs than to Teresa.

Fernando has had enough, gets up, and yells, “Okay. As you want, mama. Prepare a proposal for the separation.”

Oriana gets in one more jab before he leaves. “If you are so sure that Teresa loves you, why were she and Arturo comforting each other at her father’s funeral?” she snarls. Fernando shakes his head in disbelief and leaves.

Oriana is heartbroken.

She can't believe it has come to this.

Aida arrives as Oriana is choking down pills. Aida asks what’s wrong. Oriana explains that Fer won’t give up Teresa, so she’s going to have to take extreme measures.

LEDESMA HOME
Hernan and Esperanza apologize for their dust up in the previous episode. Esperanza agrees to try therapy, but doesn’t want to lose time looking for Rodrigo. She doesn’t mention Ruben’s visit.

GENO'S HOME
Geno agrees to fund the “hit” on Mariano. (She still thinks it’s just to beat him up). She also gives Ruben a check for his expenses. He’s very disappointed at the amount. His Sugar-Momma tells him he shouldn’t need much, as he was talking earlier about getting a job as a defense attorney. Ruben looks mortified as Geno has apparently called his bluff.

Geno hopes Ruben will earn a lot and then they can move far away and start a new life. Ruben tries to tactfully restrain that idea by saying he doesn’t want to be away from Aida until she’s gotten over what’s about to happen to Mariano. (By the way, I call dibs on Aurora!)

MARIANO'S OFFICE
Aurora tells Mariano her exam is tomorrow.

Luisa walks in and wants to thank Aurora for her support. She behaved like a true friend; such a difference from Teresa. She also apologizes to Mariano. She now sees that Mariano was not at all the way Teresa portrayed him.

TENNIS CLUB
Teresa has arrived at the club looking for Fernando. Oriana spots her and insults her for being out having fun when she just buried her father. Oriana growls, "So what else should I expect from someone like you, Teresa, who has no regard for anyone."

Teresa innocently says everything would be so different if Oriana would just accept her.

Oriana is seething. She says she’d rather be DEAD first than to accept Teresa as part of her family and warns that SHE'S NOT PLAYING AROUND!

Teresa gives her phony line that she doesn’t care about Fer’s money because her love is greater.

Oriana snarls, “We’ll see if you still love now that Fernando will lose my money, and I will fight him for the inheritance his father left for him.”

“WHO SAYS??!!” growls our astonished arribista.

...and now you know what happened in episode 143...

My stars!! Wowsers on the pictures and recap Sharkbyte! As always, just stellar.

With getting down to the wire, and I know the three endings, it still is interesting to see where all the different plot developments are going. I would seriously like to be able to:

1.) Pull Geno's hair by her fake roots and throw her in a plain old cell block with a nice orange jumpsuit, no access to makeup and a "friendly" big roomie.
2). Slap Hector silly. What is his problem already?
3.) Ruben and Fito walking down the street - Paloma driving the bus from hell has lost the brake power. Bye bye....

So sad to see Louisa so down. She needs to find the hottest guy out there, fall in love and have mucho little ones to spoil rotten and live happily ever after.

As for Arturo - I'm actually at the point where I don't want Teresa and him back together. I just think life with Teresa the way she is still will never be a bed of roses for him. If I was younger, I would be happy to offer my services to make him happier.

One last point - what the hey was with the eye shadow on Teresa?? As she gets deeper into the mire of what she's created, her eye shadow has always gotten a bit more, but holy gees, talk about raccoon eyes now. She better change or she'll be doing the whole goth thing soon.

How about that Geno character - has her cheese slipped off her cracker? She's one crazy psycho chick. No wonder Ruben is looking for an exit strategy.

However, I think it's funny to watch her keep Ruben on a short leash. Ruben might be a little scared of her.

I updated the recap with an important piece of information. Since Ruben is going to whack Mariano, I call dibs on Aurora.

ITA with daisynjay about Hector. His rhetoric is getting old.

Muchas gracias Shatkbyte! You outdid yourself with the photos. I like the one where Ori looks like she's pouting like a little girl.

So, Shark Girl didn't wriggle out of having to choose. Hmm... Art still seems to melt each time he sees her looking truly hurt, so even knowing the whole truth about her, he still might go back to her/take her back.

Fernando is a fool. At least when Teresa pulled this game on Art, no one was telling him she only wanted him for money, and the only thing that kept popping up was whether or not she had/was having a relationship with Mariano. And she saw to it that EVERYONE thought Mariano was a crazy stalker. But Fer has had multiple people warn him and has seen evidence of her game with his own eyes, and the multiple men she's left in her wake. Alarm bells should be going off for him.

Oh Espe! Why didn't you tell Hernan what happened? You know Rubes is going to get that medallion from Fito and show it to Espe as proof that he has major clues to where the baby is. Please don't fall into his trap Espe!

As for Hector. I thought it was funny that he suggested therapy to Espe and Hernan (good advice), but he clearly needs therapy himself. I think he has abandonment issues, like Aurora used to. First used and dumped by his wife, and now by Juana. He is totally projecting his own fears and anger over abdandonment on Mariano and Aurora.

So, will anyone except Refugio and Juana buy this story about Art leaving Teresa for another woman? I think everyone else in the vecinidad now knows Ter and Fer are an item.

Great recap, SharkByte. And ITA on the eyeshadow, Daisynjay -- if she's this weird-looking now, how are they going to make her up next week???

Thanks Sharkbyte for the recap.
I saw promos for Teresa during Esperanza del Corazon. It was a fast 15 seconds, but with my trusty DVR I slowed it down to catch the flying scenes. One scene has what looks like Mariano in prison (the same one Rubigote was in) kissing Aurora! What is going to cause Mariano to go to prison???

Okay, my token comment, which I must make----> I HATE Lucia.
With her fakey fake, little miss goody, I'm so bubbly fresh, attitude. She a viper lying in wait! I just wait to pull that kinky hair straight and slap her lip glossed face until she sees blurry!

Okay, now I feel better. (well, not that much better) I hate her. ODIO! Leave Teresa's Arturo alone. He is too fragile a person to plant your fake boobs on. B*TCH.

Now, Teresa is being an ass. Has she completely lost her mind? That's the only reasonable excuse for her behavior. Part of it I think is the shock of her Dads passing. That may have contributed to her nuttiness. She is now entirely focused on money. How is she going to hold off giving "it" to Fernando? He is going to force this issue soon. I'm wondering if she has some kind of crazy idea where she will get all of Fern money and then get Arturo back?
How will he take her back? She gonna have to really spin this one. CRAZY.

I wonder if we are gonna get some kind of "meses despúes" to help end this. It honestly is making my stomach ache. I am hating every aspect of where each story is going right now. And I hate when a novela goes so wrong right at the end when I have spent months loving every cap. Makes me want to just forget watching anymore and make up my own ending.

Diann

Diann- What end would you like to see for our Shark Girl? There are so many ways things could go.

To me, all the choices she's made have logically lead to the position she's in now. She's never known limits and she's never been happy with what she has. She's always looking for the better deal, and that can get you burned in the end, which is what she's experiencing now. I don't think the writers are jumping the shark here.

To me, this tn is ending very well, meaning it's ending with surprises. This is not a typical tn, so I am not expecting happy endings and weddings for everyone, and all the bad guys getting their due. I hate that Luisa had her heart broken. But I kind of like that her storyline wasn't tied up in a neat little bow. That's real life and different than most tn endings. Same with Martin. That's not to say that I wouldn't be super happy if Luisa heads to Paris, runs into Martin, and they fall madly in love. That would have me smiling. But I respect the writers for leaving their stories a bit messy and bittersweet.

I think I will choose to believe that Luisa goes to Paris and hooks up with Martin, even if I don't see it onscreen. ;}

Viv, that's my point exactly. I don't want my TN to be "that's real life" I don't watch these to see real life. I watch as entertainment AWAY from real life. That's one of the reasons I have loved the Teresa character. She is so over the top saying and doing things you don't get to see in real life.
My ending? Teresa somehow gets all of Fernando's money in her name. She dumps him in the same manner he dumped Luisa. She shows Luisa what as Douchebag he is and shows how she kept Luisa from worse heartache had she have married him. Luisa forgives her because Teresa exposed the Douche for what he really is. Mariano and Aurora get married and have babies. Fito is dead. Geno is dead. They each killed the other. Aida and Martin find each other in Paris and Aida becomes a fun girl away from Mexico City and discovers her and Martin have the same sense of humor. Fernando is left penniless and homeless. Lucia is stricken with silicone toxicity.

Arturo takes back Teresa because he loves her more than his alma. He realizes she was temporarily insane and he himself pushed her to craziness with all his provas and celos.

Teresa finally comes to realize she found the love of her life in Arturo plus she has a sh*tload of money.

Arturo an Teresa live happily ever after with travels to Europe and never having to work again. They just get to have fun together and enjoy life.

That's my ending. See it has nothing to do with "real life" that is how a Telenovela should be.

Diann

Diann, what about Luisa???

Maybe she could become an international singing and dancing sensation, adored by millions. And found a charity (but not an orphanage.)

LOL Diann! Very happy endings, except Luisa and Lucia. But I would think the writers had started smoking something towards the end, like the writers of TDA, if everything shook out that way. :)

Dear Mr. Sharkbyte: Thank you, once again, for a wonderful recap and for those excellently chosen fotos!

Our recappers are doing such an INCREDIBLE job on capitulos that are loaded with so much. Thank you all for your work and dedication to this blog.

I nearly fell out of my chair when I saw the raccoon eye make up Teresa was wearing during her visit with Refugio. It was horrible! All I could think of was the darkness that Teresa represents.

I'm sorry, I see her as nothing but darkness...a black hole that is spinning faster and faster with everyone else trying to fight her gravitational pull.

It upset me to see her address the issue yet again of 'culture' and 'education' with her grieving mother. I had to laugh at her comment about the 'circle of people with whom she socialises. Really, Teresa? You must be kidding you selfish, self centered little tramp.

Refugio is heartbroken... lost without the man she truly loved and Teresa is wanting her to go to school?! I'm surprised that Refugio was even able to laugh.

This TN is getting even harder to watch. While so very interesting, it was depressing last night...depressing with Rubigote and his schemes; Espe and her weakness and loss of thinking clearly, and that horrible anxiety about what might happen to Mariano.

Mariano does not deserve a horrible end...he simply does not, but now when I see that brief clip in the opening introduction where Teresa is crying and looking at that foto of Mariano...it worries me as to what will happen to him.

Diann: ITA...absolutely ITA re Lucia. Arturo also deserves much more than a rebound romance.

Wowsers. This is actually getting to be too much, but I don't want it to end!

Please, please, UNI...let us see all of those endings!

Susanita

Vivi, why do you say the writers would have to be smoking something to end up with my endings?
I haven't smoked anything and I think they are perfectly good endings.

Diann

Loved the recap and the pictures!

Daisy, I actually saw 4 endings to this TN, maybe one was a phony. I would really love to find out which endings they used in the different countries and why.

Yes Ter gets darker and darker as she spins out of control. Fer is an idiot. I sure hope Art forgets all about Ter, he is basically a good guy and Ter can never make anyone happy, not even herself for all her selfishness. As they say, there will always be someone with more money that you and when you live your life comparing yourself to them you are never happy. Soon she would be leaving Fer for one of his rich European friends that is also royalty.

Luisa would be better off with a more normal guy than a rich playboy with a nasty mother. May be you SharkByte?

Lucia is just there right now, she's not necessarily the "one' for Art.

I hate the whole Ruben, Roots baby kidnapping thing. We have enough on our plate already, and now killing poor Mariano. What on earth for?

I am believing Teresa is temporarily insane.
(how else do you explain the crazy eye makeup?)

She will snap out of it once she destroys Fernando.

Everyone will forgive her because they find out she was sick.

Arturo especially.

Diann

Diann I think you might just get your endings!

Diann- I'm just kidding around. But in a lot of over the top tns the writers pull out all the stops at the end to give the villains the worst ends possible, and the good people the happiest, sappiest endings possible- even if their actions aren't in line with the tone and actions of anything that happened in the previous 100+ episodes. Just whatever it takes to get to the desired end. That can lead to endings that look like the writers stayed up all night, with too much alcohol/caffeine/drugs to come up with ways to get to these tidy ends, no matter what, and against all logic. Those kind of endings can be fun and enjoyable. But I just don’t expect that of this tn which has been so different from others, which is why I’ve liked it so much.

We don't know SharkByte's NOT a rich playboy with a nasty mother.

BlueLass LOL. Maybe that's why SharkByte is so "in tune" with Fernando the Douche! Jajajajajaja

Chuchi----> you have given me hope. (especially since you said you've seen the endings). ;)

Diann

This was wonderful Sharkbyte. The pictures were spectacular - you captured the essence of last night's morbid episode perfectly. It was great fun - thank you so very much.

The comments today had me laughing as well, daisy's "bus from hell" and Susanita's "raccoon eye make up" (among many others).

Diann, I agree with "I am hating every aspect of where each story is going right now. And I hate when a novela goes so wrong right at the end when I have spent months loving every cap". Well stated and absolutely true.

I was yelling at Teresa to run after Art when he left the apartment. I couldn't stand each of their tears - they are truly more miserable apart then together. Rulli outdoes himself each episode - I really felt his pain.

I just want this to end. But, as this train wreck roars down the track to certain disaster, I staill cannot look away.

Diana

Diana, thanks. I feel better knowing I'm not alone.

Diann

I guess I fall into the "don't give me bows" category as Vivi describes. Sorry Diann, but I sort of do like that not everyone gets a happy ending, even when it frustrates the heck out of me at first. Call it the Edith Wharton lover in me.

I am more disappointed in those TN endings where they force couples together who clearly are mismatched, or suddenly make a character okay after acting like a jerk thru the whole series, stuff like that. If you're going to build me up with this type of great, much more realistic writing, then carry thru to the end. I'll shed a few tears instead of smiling- it's therapeutic they say.

So for Mariano in the slammer.....hmmm, maybe he thwarts Fito's murder attempt but offs him in the process and gets thrown in jail until the truth comes out that it was a hired hit? You know the law in TN, guilty first, prove innocent later No spoiler - just speculation.

Teresa just gets more selfish with every episode. Imagine the nerve of her suggesting that Refugio go to school when she needs time to mourn.

Refugio -- for all her lack of refined manners -- has way more class than her hellspawn daughter. Honestly, I think Teresa is a Bad Seed.

Mariano needs to have a happy ending to this insane tale and I totally agree about Hector having abandonment issues.

As much as I hate Genovenom I have to laugh at how she seems to see through Ruben.

Who doesn't care about the baby at all except as something he can use to hurt Esperanza.

Daisy and Blue Lass, yes, Teresa is really pouring on the eye makeup. For her goth look, all she needs is to tattoo tears down her face. I think it is a little high school play-ish to dramatize a character in such a way. We can see that Teresa is mala, don't need the black makeup!

Diann, "I hate when a novela goes so wrong right at the end when I have spent months loving every cap." Me too! I so dislike the dizzying novela endings with the instant redemptions or punishments. Seeing someone dig themselves out from under the mistakes that they have made would be fascinating. Many people in real life change their behavior and become better, it happens every day. Teresa's mistakes are typical of those that can be changed, materialism, infidelity, even lying. Novela characters are taken so far down into to a pit of narcissistic/sociopathology that a real redemption is impossible. I wish they hadn't made Teresa a "vecindad" person, I identify more with that type and it hurts to see her waste the gifts she was given, beauty and brains!

When my FIL died, my husband and I encouraged my MIL to get out and meet new people to fill her life, etc. I think (hope) that is what Teresa was thinking with her advise. That scene just put into focus how very different Teresa is from her mother. She should have advised her to involve herself in church activities, help with Juana's adoption and entertain Paty and Johnny more, that is what she likes.

Another thing, as the "elder" member of this blog, I found myself rooting for the young woman who seemed to out think all the guys in the despacho and the Luna Turquesa meetings. That type of behavior was unheard of years ago in the South and maybe everywhere. Seeing a bright young woman, overcome bullying and become the top of her class in a noted Mexican university was ever so slightly exhilarating for me! I love Teresa, the novela, and have enjoyed every minute of it, but just wish that the person that I perceived to be the social and financial underdog could have come out as a gold star winner in the end. As it stands now, she really is a raaaata de la vecindad! Too bad, I don't like that ending.

We don't know SharkByte's NOT a rich playboy with a nasty mother.

BlueLass LOL. Maybe that's why SharkByte is so "in tune" with Fernando the Douche! Jajajajajaja

You guys are having a little too much fun here! Of course I'm not a rich, womanizing, playboy. That would be crazy.

If anyone needs me, I'll be at my villa in Monaco :^)

"I had to laugh at her comment about the 'circle of people with whom she socialises"

With whom does Teresa socialize?

She doesn't have any society friends at the club.

She doesn't have any friends at the hospital.

The Rrrrrrrrrrat Pack doesn't like her.

She won't be socializing with Mariano & Aurora.

She won't be socializing with Arturo & Luisa.

Oriana will see to it that Teresa is shunned within her social circle.

Who does Teresa socialize with? Esperanza & Juana? Both of them are from the same hood that Refugio's from.

A rebound relationship with Lucia couldn't be any worse than the relationship Arturo's in now with Teresa.

Hernan needs to get over his insecurities and Esperanza needs to learn to trust. Perhaps Doctor Felipe can help.

Hector needs some counseling too. He assumes because Vanessa & Juana left him, Mariano will leave Aurora. Yet, he never had that concern about Martin. He may be projecting his abandonment issues onto Aurora but I think he knows that Aurora just wasn't that into Martin, so there was no danger of her being madly in love with Martin & then being dumped by Martin.

He knows she IS madly in love with Mariano, just like he was in love with Vanessa and then Juana.

Speaking of Vanessa, I wonder if she'll ever show back up? Things didn't end too good with that Hugo guy. I think he took Aurora's check and dumped Vanessa at the restaurant.

Another great recap Sharkbyte and love the screen caps as well. So no surprised Teresa chose money over love and is watching Arturo slip away and become more involved with Lucia. I still don't think Lucia is a good choice for Arturo as a romantic partner. He's rebounding anyway. Now both Luisa and Arturo have no place to live all because of Fernando (his apartment where Arturo was living and the family home he bought for Luisa).

Teresa's makeup is now even heavier than before with all the eye shadow. Maybe she's going for the Tammy Faye Baker look.

That was some nightmare she had of all the three men in her life. Interesting that Fernando said that she's his prisoner now.

I don't know about everyone else, but I didn't particularly like last night's episode. It seemed dull; like it had a lot of filler content. I yawned a few times when I was doing the recap.

Maybe this was the calm before the storm.

I thought Teresa looked sexy with the dark eye makeup until Susanita said she had raccoon eyes.

Now I can’t get that image out of my mind and I think Teresa looks like a dork now. Thanks for ruining that for me Suasanita! :^)

No offense to Tammy Faye Baker of course. I agree that the heavy makeup symbolizes the darkness inside of Teresa. There is still a glimmer of goodness in her though. Hopefully she will realise that before it's too late for her. She just may find herself all alone. She's already pushed away, Mariano, Aurora, Luisa, and Arturo.

Monaco? The sunny place for shady people? Perfect for the sharky playboy type...

Once again, Sharkbyte, A+ recap. I loved "Why, it’s giving her the vapors!" and your quick calling dibs on Aurora in case of Mariano's untimely demise.

Teresa looked like a ghoul. I could not believe her gall in suggesting her grieving mother go to finishing school and learn some manners so she won't embarrass Teresa in high society.

I think it would be funny if Teresa married Fernando and then they went to Europe and she found out that actually, no one there likes him or his mother so they don't socialize with "high society" at all.

I hate it when the story suddenly shifts tone to force a wrapped-up ending, too. I love a good redemption but it has to be developed over time and believably, like Josué in Mi Pecado or Conrado in Niña de Mi Corazón. It's annoying when some character who has always been awful suddenly thinks, "Oh, I should be good; then people will like me" and they apologize and suddenly they have a different personality. I also hate it when they force characters to pair off who should NOT be together e.g. Nathy and Juanjo *GAG*.

Hector is definitely projecting his own relationship problems. I think he's also envious of his daughter. He had two unsuccessful serious relationships, and she has two very good men who want to marry her. I think on some subconscious level he wants to just keep her to himself, not have his beloved daughter's attention diverted to the sort of relationship he can't seem to attain himself.

Great recap SharkByte! Of course you can have the dibs on Aurora lol.

I liked the smokey make up too, I don't think it can be used all the time but it looks good in certain occasions. I also like what it simbolizes for Teresa.

I loved the capture of Teresa's dream, perfect moment!

Jarocha

Interesting that Fernando said that she's his prisoner now.
---------------------

Fernando bought himself a Teresa™ doll and he's going to play with his toy whether she likes it or not.

Arturo bought the Teresa™ doll but kept her on the shelf until she decided to play along.

Fernando's been very aggressive about wanting to get Teresa in bed ASAP. If she continues to go with him, she'll have all the money (maybe) but she definitely won't be happy. There will be no fascinating adventures like with Arturo and once Fernando gets tired of his Teresa doll he will toss her out like a rag.

Sharkbyte, though this episode may have been boring to you, your recap was great!

Regarding happy endings, in general I like them but as others have mentioned I don't like rushed/fake coupling just to have people together. Though I do want to see Luisa with Martin even if it has be off screen (good one, Blue Lass) b/c she is such kind soul. We've been with her almost from the beginning (she's grown from being timid to a more outgoing person) and I want her to enjoy someone being truly in love with her as Martin was with Aurora. With Fer, he was attempting to be domesticated but wasn't that into her. Fer sinks!

Regarding Art, I enjoy him but I feel much better with him ending up alone for now b/c he's got to address his anger issues, violence, and alcoholism. With the problems he has currently, he can't really be a galan; in a fit of rage or drunkenness, he might physically harm whoever he's with (never good).

Sharkbyte, forgot to thank you for the wonderful recap. Your screen caps are outstanding. You really have the ability to chose just the photos that tell the story blow by blow. Thanks! I don't wish Mariano dead, but if the worst happens, I think you'd be a great guy for Aurora, smart, funny, a villa in Monaco...can't beat that!

That was quite a frank discussion Oriana had with Fernando. It must have been difficult to discuss such personal "physical" stuff with her only son. I felt a sting of passion when she cried, she is such a hard acre that you forget that she does have the heart of a mother somewhere hidden under all that bluster. I don't know that I'd have the strength to jerk all the money and business from a son, but her back is up against the wall. She feels that a lot of investments will be lost if Teresa gets her "dorsal fin" into Fernando, plus a pobre Fernando won't be shark bait for our Teresa.

I've never know an international playboy, but judging by the ones on the TV, Fernando falls a little short. Isn't he supposed to be calling all the shots?

Hector just needs a little time, after all, Mariano was crazy for Teresa for years and then jumped into a relationship with Aeeda. Ole Hector has whiplash from watching Mariano's love life. Hector has been front and center with Mariano's hospital problems. Hector might bring some personal insecurities to the table, but really, Mariano was a mess for a long, long time. The passage of time should heal their relationship. I was surprised when Aurora didn't put the ring on her finger, now I see that it was a good plan, too much, too soon, for herself and father. (And it gives Sharkbyte more time to develop his Plan B for Aurora!)

Yes, Julia, Josué was a wonderful turn around in Mi Pecado. Like you say, it took time, not in an instant. Mariano was never a bad person, but he has over time conquered some demons and changed into a fabulous person in a realistic way.

Fernando's no Fafy Cuenca. Remember how Fafy made Sara jump through hoops (and wear a jeannie outfit) to get at his money?

Julia, I think it would be funny if we found out that Oriana and Fernando weren't from Spain at all -- after all, neither one of them has a trace of a Castilian accent. Maybe they are international con artists!

Loved the recap.

I must be in the minority b/c I didnt take Teresa suggesting her mother going to school or traveling as being wrong its Teresa way of trying to help relieve her mother of pain the problem is is that Teresa only thinks from her own POV and learning and traveling are things that would made her happy so she assumes it would do the same for her mother.

SharkByte! I was very surprised you didn't remark on Teresa's new "look" with the super heavy dark eye shadow. Obviously signaling a new phase for Teresa as the divorcee and overall very greedy person (which is what I think TNs usually mean by the word ambición). Now you have yet another stage of Teresa to add to your photo montage.

Great recap and pics as usual!

Audrey

Really great recap, Sharkbyte, and perfect pictures as usual. Made a very difficult episode bearable. Loved your comments on Juana's new brain dead husband.

ITA with comments on how hard it is to watch and what a crap-hole the plot parts are going into.

For the record, IMO, I believe Tere caused Art's problems, not the other way around.

Still, I don't want the story to end the way I want it to if it means they have to stretch it out of shape, or have some of the characters change in ways that is implausible at the last minute.

For example, I don't want Tere to repent and become a Nun taking a vow of poverty (or even better, silence) just because I would laugh my head off to see it.

Audrey - I have added Teresa's raccoon eyes to the photo montage.

I'll publish the link to it tomorrow or over the weekend.

Melinama didn't want me to publish it to the main Caray page because it had too many pictures.

So I took Julia's advice and created a separate blog dedicated just for this montage. I'll publish a post with a description of the montage, a couple of teaser fotos and a web link to it.

Fafy Cuenca!!! Man, he was awesome. He knew how to work a gold-digger to his advantage :).

Blue Lass, I like your theory. Con artists...maybe Oriana was stealing money from Arturo's parents' estate while she was so "helpful" to him and Luisa after the murders.

Thanks, SharkByte. Another laugh-filled cool dude recap!

ITA that this was a very painful episodio for me since I'm still very much on Team Teresa. Art's pain was so palpable. Teresa's celos over Lucia was heartfelt as well as her ugh-face at fooling around with Art's BFF. I still want Aeeeda and Mama Shark to pay dearly for the obnoxious and cruel way they treated a cripple--Teresa or no. Oriana talks about decency, but she showed none during those hospital forays. Teresa showed more decency and restraint in those situations! Neither Art or Fernando have any idea how horrid Odiosa was back then!

Juana's makeup has changed too. It's softer. She's not wearing the bright reds anymore, she's been wearing soft pink lip gloss.

Aurora stopped wearing the gold/bronze eyeshadow and switched to a smoky purple around the time she & Mariano got together.

Teresa had a light eye makeup treatment when she was dating Mariano/seducing Arturo/marrying Arturo. She switched to a garish pink around the time she decided to go after Fernando. And now that she's dropped the bomb & everyone is reeling from the damage, she's switched to a dark smokey eye.

Esperanza had that sad ponytail when she was with Ruben, flat hair when she was carrying Rodrigo & glamourous blowout now that she's married to Hernan.

Luisa had no makeup before she met Teresa, heavy handed makeup when she was first learning about makeup and has had soft, appropriate makeup ever since.

Roots has always had tacky hair & makeup.

There's been no change in Aida's makeup. At least she doesn't suffer from raccoon syndrome like she did in LVO.

Diann - I loved your endings for the characters! LOL! You were on fire today with your comments!

Come on Diann, you should give poor Lucia a break! Her fake boobs probably make effective flotation devices. They're a safety feature!

Count me along with everyone who said Teresa caused Arturo's problems. Keep in mind also that just when things appear to be going well she manufactures a problem to give herself an excuse to look for the exit.

Karmageddon awaits.

My endings for Teresa:

These suggested endings require imagination and time travel!

Fito: Death by firing squad a la "Third of May," Goya

Geno and Rubin: Incarceration in the Devil's Island prison featured in "Papillon."

Aeeeda; Struck dumb by the virus in the Mexican version of "Contagion." Too bad.

Teresa: Becomes an inmate in the manicomio featured in "One Flew Over the Coo Coo's Nest," ward supervisor, Nurse Ratchet.

Arturo: His life turns around when he meets his teenage son by Paloma. He quits drinking, finds Jesus, and becomes spokesman/actor/model for AA, Mexico.

Fernando: As a wealthy "international playboy," he applies for membership in the Madrid Playboy Mansion. He is deemed un-creditworthy and with falsified belt notches. Settles for membership in a shady massage parlor in Algeciras, Spain.

Oriana: Vies for a role in the remake of "Monster-in-Law," loses the part to Jane Fonda, but has success with her best seller, "How to Control Your Adult Children in One Easy Step."

Mariano: Caught in a sting featured in CSI selling drugs lifted from the dispensarios. OK, I just got rid of him so Sharkbyte would have a chance with Aurora. Mariano didn't do funny recaps with photos for us!

Aurora; Dates/marries Sharkbyte, their story is the hottest Univision novela in history!

Luisa.....Deciding to climb Mt. Kilimanjaro to clear her head finds that she shares the same sherpa as Martin. After a quick but loving conversation, they go for broke and marry at base camp using a shoelace as an improvised wedding ring. They live happy ever after, novela style.

Martin: See Luisa above

Hector: Likes Vivi's comments, asks for her hand in marriage!

Espe and Hernan: They find little Rodrigo, but she continues to have problems with "headaches."

Lucie: Scalp is burned from excessive curl product. Meets a friendly plastic surgeon who cures her burns and enlarges her implants. She sues when her implant/flotation devices fail in a beach outing after she is bitten by a real shark!

All vecindad neighbors live happily ever as is the case in rough novela neighborhoods!

Did I forget anyone?

Sandy, I love your endings, particularly Fernando's fate.

Sandy, you forgot Juana & Cutberto! Can they run Paloma's orphanage?

Blue Lass, they are included in the vecindad, but I love your perfect idea! Refugio would be a wonderful help in the orphanage as well as Cutberto and Juana!

Yeah, like Lucia is the only one on set with fake boobs!

Really. These gals would make a FLOTILLA.

LOL Sandy!!! I love it.

Aurora; Dates/marries Sharkbyte, their story is the hottest Univision novela in history!

HERE, HERE!! HERE, HERE!!

Sandy, this is probably the best comment in the history of comments, ever in the entire galaxy!!!

Sandy in TN, you are the Broheim of the Day.
:^)

I had a different ending for Goonberto - he gets struck in the head by lightning and becomes the world's greatest scientist.

He dates Blue Lass, but she dumps him.

She's quoted in the tabloids as saying, "...I liked him better when he had the IQ of a frying pan...Men are easier to control when they aren't so insolent"

Sharkbyte, having won the "Broheim of the Day" award, I'm a little "puffed up" with pride right now....but as others are pointing out, I'll never be as "puffed up" as some of our "flotilla" novela characters! Ha.

All kidding aside, you have brought a lot of fun to our sometimes too serious Teresa conversations!

Sharkbyte and Aurora.....forever!

Oh my! I am DYING laughing at all of the wonderful comments!!

Mr. Sharkbyte: I am so sorry that I ruined that 'smokey' eye image for you, but I did a double take when I saw that HORRIBLE raccoon eye makeup on Teresa. In fact, I even asked myself: "Self, is that an eye mask". Plus, if truth be told, it rather gave me the shivers. Teresa looked downright creepy.

UA: I have thought for a long time now that Teresa is the Bad Seed. I mentioned that awhile back as she did something that reminded me of the book (which was a play and then later made into a movie which can be seen on the telly). With that garish makeup last night, I was surprised she was not wearing black or shocking red lipstick to go right along with the raccoon eyes.

Sandy in TN: SUPER...simply SUPER! I cannot stop laughing!!!

Anon207: re 'social circles'. My point exactly. Couldn't agree with you more. I'll take it a step further. Teresa even sounded a tad delusional at that point, but she's very good at coming back down to earth. What brought her back was Refugio laughing at her recommendation. That did the trick!

My dear Sharkbyte...I absolutely CANNOT wait for your gallery of fotos!!!

One can only wonder what we are going to see tonight, but if it is one thing I am SICK of seeing, it is Rubigote. Espe needs to get a grip and call the police when that man walks in the door.

Susanita

Espe needs to get a grip and stop opening the door without knowing who's there. She should peek through the window and call the police when she sees Rube out there, and leave the door locked until they arrive. Actually, she should have a detective tailing Ruben so she knows where he is at all times, and also might find out what he knows about the baby's whereabouts.

Susanita - I only wish I had started collecting screenshots a long time ago. That would have been awesome. For that matter I wish I started watching this novela when it started.

As it is I've had to collect pictures from low resolution sources, so it's not as awesome as it could be, but it's still cool.

Don't worry dear Mr. Sharkbyte...the gallery will be awesome. I am sure of it!

Susanita

You got it, SharkByte -- me and Downtown Julie Brown:

When I need somethin' to help me unwind
I find a six foot baby with a one track mind
Smart guys are nowhere, they make demands
Give me a moron with talented hands
I go bar-hopping and they say last call
I start shopping for a Neanderthal

The bigger they come the harder I fall
In love 'til we're done then they're out in the hall

{Refrain}
I like 'em big and stupid
I like 'em big and real dumb
I like 'em big and stupid

&c.

You're one crazy chica Blue Lass. That's why I like you!

Okay ya'll, I just read thru 61 comments...excellent BTW. Anywho...my take on Teresa's makeup, she is "de luto" (in mourning). Traditionally black is worn, since she was wearing a white blouse she compensated with the black eyeshadow. Which is what I would do to show my solidarity to the familia and as a sign of respect to the dead.

I SAW A LOT OF SIMILARITIES WITH TERESA'S CHARACTER AND NINA'S CHARACTER FROM BLACK SWAN...

ALSO,
YOU REALLY NOTICE TERESA MORPH INTO A MORE EVIL AND EVIL PERSON EVERY EPSIODE.

AT THE VERY BEGINING OF THE NOVELA,
TERESA HARDLY WORE ANY MAKEUP AND HAD UGLY HAIR...
THEN SHE STARTED DOING THE LIGHT SHIMMERY EYESHADOW WITH A SUPER DELICATE PERFECT BLACK EYE LINER TO GIVE HER CAT EYES AND BRIGHT PINK LIPS..

AND THEN SHE STARTED ROCKING THE PINK REDDISH EYE SHADOW WHICH I THOUGHT WAS SO STRANGE..WHO THE HELL WEARS THAT EYE SHADOW?! BUUUT IT GOES WITH THE CHARCTER AND I SEE IT AS SYMBOLISM AND NOT AS A FASHION STATEMENT..

AND THEN TOWARDS THE END OF THE NOVELA YOU SEE HER FULLY MORPH INTO A BLACK SWAN WITH THE HEAVY BLACK EYE SHADOW!
