Teresa Wed 9/28/11 #148 Regrets, We Had A Few...

REPRISE
Oriana offers to pay off Teresa in exchange for leaving her son alone. Oriana wants to know how much it will take for Teresa to disappear. Teresa asks, “How much is your son’s happiness worth?”

If Teresa stays with Fernando, she can have many millions, so she hopes Oriana’s offer is generous enough. Oriana sneers that Teresa is shameless.

Teresa says, if she agrees, Fernando will suffer. Oriana points out it will be temporary. Besides, he’s going to suffer anyway.

Teresa is interested to see how far Oriana can go with her proposal, as she contemplates her new tax bracket. Oriana says she will make an estimate.

Instead of fighting with her son and losing capital, she will pay Teresa very well, with the one condition that she stay away permanently from Fernando.

HOSPITAL – GRAMP’S ROOM
Before Gramp’s surgery, Patty wants to have a word. She says she loves him and he’s been like the father she didn’t have, because her father didn’t love her... but she doesn’t know why...

POLICE STATION
Aurora and Mariano are talking through the bars of his jail cell. Mariano is lamenting that he won’t be able to marry her if he ends up in prison. He whispers, “True love thinks about the other before oneself”. (The hearts of Caray ladies everywhere melted in that very instant).

Aurora says she will be by his side in any circumstance; she loves him.

He doesn’t want her coming to the jail because she doesn’t belong in a place like that. She doesn’t care, she’ll go anywhere for him, because she can’t be without him. Awwww (barf)

HOSPITAL WAITING AREA
Juana and Patty are waiting for Gramps’ to get out of surgery. Juana vents that Krassberto came home at five in the morning. His excuse was he was out “singing”.

Just then Nerdberto walks up with a black eye, and Juana looks oddly guilty. He says Juana is now his “jealous husband of Teresa.”

Ah, if he only had a brain...

POLICE STATION
Mariano meets with Teresa and is skeptical of her motives. Teresa can’t understand why everyone thinks the worst of her! (She actually said that).

The police captain walks in and announces that Mariano has been formally arrested and will be transferred to the penitentiary for an unknown number of years.

Mariano blows his stack and goes after the captain. Teresa yells for him to calm down as this will only complicate things.

She maintains Mariano is innocent; she saw Ruben and Geno dispose of the body. The captain says until that is proven, Mariano is going to prison.

Mariano is very surprised to hear this.

He wonders if Teresa made it up to help him. Teresa assures him it’s true.

GENO'S HOUSE
Ruben suggests he and Geno leave the country, but not yet, to avoid suspicion.

Geno knows it will be their word against Teresa’s but still is nervous and wants to leave. She’s worried “la gata” Esperanza knows they are a couple.

Ruben is confident Esperanza won’t talk. As long as he and Geno are on the same page, there won't be problems.

POLICE STATION
Teresa vows she won’t rest until it’s proven that Ruben and Geno killed Fito. Mariano wants to talk with Aida. Teresa warns that Aida just thinks Teresa is out to ruin her father.

Arturo enters and says it’s time to go. He spoke to some acquaintances and assures Mariano they will solve this case.

LUCIA'S HOUSE
Oriana is lamenting to Lucia that Luisa will not be the mother of her grandchildren. However, Oriana says she took a major step toward resolving the problem with Teresa.

GRAMPS’ HOSPITAL ROOM
Dr. Dario tells Patty and Gramps that everything went well. However, Gramps will have to quit working to avoid future problems with his gastritis FF>>

POLICE STATION
Aida is screeching about how Teresa lied about Ruben. Aurora tells everyone to hush and remember that Mariano’s freedom is at stake.

LEDESMA HOME
A courier arrives and gives Esperanza a letter which requires her signature. Just then, Ruben arrives and snatches it from her.

Ruben opens it and sees that it is a court summons (citatorio). He warns her that she better not say anything about his affair with Geno.

He says as soon as he has money, he, Esperanza, and the baby are leaving. He threatens that if she tells anyone about this, the baby dies.

TERESA’S HEARTBREAK HOTEL
Teresa smooches with Fernando. He’s distracted with problems at work, his mom, and Luna Turqueza. Teresa mentions she has to be at the notary’s office at five to file for divorce. Now she's the one who's distracted.

HOSPITAL WAITING AREA
Juana and Patty spot Aurora and ask for the latest news about Mariano. Aurora says Mariano was taken to prison. They can’t believe it and move in for a hug. (Add Patty to the mix and that’s a sandwich I’d like to be in the middle of!)

ARMANDO’S GRAVE SITE
Through lots of tears, Teresa kneels at Armando’s grave. The most important thing, she says, is for him to be proud of her. She doesn’t want to sign her divorce papers because she still loves Arturo, but she can’t leave behind her dreams. The scene ends as she wails, “I don’t know what to do, papi, I don’t know what to do..."

LUCIA'S HOUSE
Arturo tells Lucia that Teresa didn’t show up to sign the divorce papers. Arturo begrudgingly says she is the one that wanted the divorce. Lucia asks if he thinks Teresa has repented. But even so, could Arturo forgive all that Teresa has done? What about what Teresa did to Luisa? Arturo looks despondent. Lucia turns and quickly leaves; apparently there's a sale on tube tops at the skank store.

PENITENTIARY
Aurora visits Mariano in prison. She’s brought him some fritters from Juana. (Wow, she’s hot and she brings snacks!)

Aurora tells him that Arturo has been in contact with the best criminologists – Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne, and Fred.

Then Mariano says that he and Aurora should break up because he doesn’t want her tied to him (since he doesn’t know how long he’s going to be imprisoned).

Aurora is stunned. She asks, “Do you really want to end our engagement?”

Mariano says, “It’s for the best, my love.”

WHACK!!!! Aurora slaps Mariano!

She yells, “HOW DARE YOU INSULT ME! You said you wanted to be with me forever! These are terrible moments we are going through, but they’re part of our lives together!! I’m not so weak as to be unable to endure whatever comes!!”

GRAMPS HOSPITAL ROOM
Gramps throws a few insults about Johnny and says he is inhuman. Patty is beside herself and says that she and Johnny have tried to be patient with him, but he doesn’t cooperate. She and Johnny have proven they love each other, what is Gramps’ problem?

Gramps says it’s time to tell Patty about her father. Patty is right when she says that her father didn’t want or love her. He says that back in their village at that time being a single mother was taboo.

So Gramps forced Patty’s father to marry her mother. He turned out to be a playboy and treated her mother and Patty very badly. (My cable service was temporarily interrupted, but I think they said he may not have actually been Patty’s biological father, yet Gramps forced him to marry Patty’s mother anyway.)

He asks Patty for her forgiveness. He lost the love of her mother because he forced her to marry, and now he’s afraid he’s losing Patty too. Patty says she loves him and he is the one she has always loved.

TERESA’S ARRIBISTA INN
Oriana shows up in the library. Teresa says she must be there because she knows how much money she is going to offer. Oriana says, “You guessed right. You and I are not friends that I’d make a social visit.”

Oriana offers five million dollars in exchange for Teresa to disappear from Fernando’s life. Teresa says, “Ma’am, the love of my life is Fernando.” Oriana is astonished.

To her surprise, Fernando suddenly enters and bitterly says, “What a disappointment, mama, I can’t believe you were capable of being so low!!” Oriana says, “Wait a minute, let me explain...“ “I don’t want you to tell me ANYTHING!! I’M ASHAMED that you’re my mother!!!”, Fernando exclaimed.

Oriana snaps, “What is this Teresa? You set a trap?!” Fernando says it is the pinnacle of what Oriana has come to in order to destroy his happiness. He says like it or not, Teresa is his happiness.

Teresa chimes in, “Fernando, madam, is the love of my life. Your millions don’t interest me.” Oriana says, “What my child has with you is a lie!”

Fernando says, “No mama. What is a lie is the relationship you and I had!!”

“Fernando, do not be silly. Realize that Teresa only wants your money.”

Fernando says it is unfair that just because he will not do her will, Oriana is going to break up their companies, costing him millions, and push for him to lose his inheritance. Oriana says that’s just what she’s going to do.

Fernando tells Oriana to GET OUT of the house!! Oriana says, “Of course I’m going. And I’ll see you in court!! And I assure you there will come a day when you will regret having trusted in that arribista!!” Fernando yells, “OUT, OUT, GET OUT!!” as he slams the door behind her and his tail feathers ruffle.

Distraught, Fernando turns around, leans against the stairs and cries.

Teresa, practically gloating, dawns a despicable, facetious grin.

PENITENTIARY
Beautiful Aurora visits again and slips Mariano some "payola" money. They’ve patched things up and will fight this situation together. Mariano admits he was stupid to suggest they break up.

Sigh...sometimes guys just have to admit that women are goddesses and men don’t deserve them...

CACERES HOME
Ruben is greasing the skids with Aida for his escape. He says he sometimes just wants to go away and start a new life. He invites Aida to come with him.

Aida says as long as Mariano is in prison, she’s not going anywhere. Ruben says Mariano preferred Aurora, and for that, he should rot in jail.

Aida tells Ruben she’s sorry she hasn’t been very supportive in the pursuit of his son, but from now on, she will do everything possible to help him find Rodrigo. Where should they start...? Ruben looks annoyed.

HEARTBREAK HOTEL
In the aftermath of the fight with Oriana, Teresa is comforting Fernando.

Teresa says this is only the beginning, because he will have to face Oriana in court. This is going to further deteriorate the relationship with his mother and his family.

Teresa, because she “loves” Fernando so much, offers to step aside and disappear. If it will give him more of a chance to salvage his relationship with Oriana, then she’s willing to do it - for Fernando’s sake of course.

She then offers to be Fernando’s legal representative so she can possibly negotiate with Oriana to reach an optimal agreement.

CACERES HOME
Aida wants to know why Ruben won’t answer her.

Ruben gives her a line that the police are in charge and he doesn’t want Aida getting involved and possibly getting into trouble.

HOSPITAL - AURORA’S OFFICE
Some investigators are leaving Aurora’s office as Aida arrives. Aida asks Aurora if it’s ok for her to visit Mariano. Aurora agrees.

As part of the investigation, Aurora needs Aida’s full cooperation: she asks Aida if it’s possible that Ruben and Geno were having an affair. Aida flashes back to Mayra telling her that she saw Geno and Ruben kissing. Aida says although it’s painful to admit it, yes it’s possible.

ARRIBISTA INN, BAR & GRILL
Fernando is in a daze. Teresa has the paperwork prepared for her to become Fernando’s legal representative. (That was fast!) She eagerly gives him a pen and tells him she just needs his signature.

Fernando hesitates, but Teresa sweet talks him. Eventually he gives in, as he tells Teresa he will confide in her; and she is keen to remind him to sign each sheet.

After Fernando signs the paperwork, Teresa is eager to get to work. Fernando says, not so fast – he wants to take Teresa to the notary to get her divorce.

He suspects Teresa missed her appointment at the notary yesterday because she’s having second thoughts about the divorce. Teresa assures him there was just a lot of traffic.

As Fernando leaves to get ready, Teresa says under her breath, “Fernando, I have you in my hands.”

Suddenly Arturo arrives and wants to know why Teresa missed the divorce appointment. He says Mariano told him she fell in love with him in Europe, and asks if it’s true. Does she want a divorce or did she just get angry to find Lucia kissing him?

Fernando crashes the discussion. As he and Arturo gear up for a fight, Teresa gets them to calm down. They make arrangements to meet later to sign the divorce papers.

PENITENTIARY
Some inmates gather around Mariano. One thug wants revenge because Mariano killed Fito. (I think the thug was an associate of Fito’s). Mariano denies killing Fito and doesn’t want any problems, but the fight is inevitable. The thug pulls a knife and a scuffle ensues.

Mariano gets the upper hand in the fight. He pounds the thug and demands he tell him everything he knows about Fito. The thug says he’s no snitch. Mariano says everyone has a price – want to talk?

GENO'S HOUSE
Ruben and Geno talk about their escape. Ruben suggests he take “Paulito” while Geno gets money. Geno doesn’t seem to trust him. With disturbing glee, Ruben tells Geno he loves her more because he owes her even more. She killed two birds with one stone. Mariano will not be able to be near Aida and will spend many years in prison paying for the murder of Fito, whom she killed.

HEARTBREAK HOTEL
Teresa is leaving to court to get her divorce. Fernando wants to go, but Teresa talks him out of it. He obeys her like Teresa is his new mama.

Fernando insists that as soon as Teresa has filed for divorce, they both go to her mom to tell her that she is going to marry him.

Teresa doesn’t think that’s such a good idea because Refugio is still mourning, but eventually she relents.

PENITENTIARY
Mariano and some investigators are talking with Aida. She can’t believe what she is hearing. Aida previously told Mariano that Geno wanted a son, and Ruben was capable of anything to annoy Esperanza.

The investigators say Geno had motive because Fito caused the death of her son. Moreover, the thug snitched after all: he said Ruben hired Fito to steal Rodrigo. However the investigators need hard evidence as it is difficult to accept the testimony of a paid inmate.

Aida asks to know everything the inmate said. The investigators are leery of involving Aida. Because of her relationship to the suspects, she may tip them off. Aida promises she will not do that this time.

DIVORCE COURT
The notary arrives and Teresa and Arturo tell him they want a divorce, as they take verbal jabs at each other.

The notary says, “Sometimes there are problems in a marriage and the couple decides to divorce. But that does not mean the next relationship will not have problems... Are you sure that love is not enough to save your marriage?”

At this, Teresa bursts out into uncontrolled sobbing. Arturo consoles her as she breaks down into bitter, unrestrained crying...

Will she go through with the divorce?

...and now you know what happened in episode 148.

This is my last recap for TERESA. It’s been a lot of fun! Thank you all for your support and for all the laughs!

No, Sharkbyte, YOU'VE been a lot of fun. Thank you so much. There was so much last night que no entiendo. Thanks for filling in all the details with such humor. I'm really trying with my Spanish, and all of you recappers have helped so much. Gracias.

Oh Sharkbyte, where do I begin? We've had such a wonderful relationship but alas all good things come to an end. **sigh** It's not you, it's me.

Great recap as always! I cracked up with all of Teresa's faces while Fernando was sobbing his little black heart out! I don't feel sorry for either of them --- boo, hiss...they're both malos.

Having said that I'm still holding out hope that Teresa and Art somehow end up together....don't know how but hope springs eternal.

Thanks again Sharkbyte, it was blogging with you and all the others. It's been fun!

Sharkbyte- What a wonderful addition you were to the CarayCaray recapper and commenter family. You hit the ground running with your fun and funny recaps, and never looked back. Thank you.

Last night's episode started out slowly, but then packed a few well placed punches-- Aurora's slapdown of Mariano's stupid self sacrifice idea; Teresa leading Ori into that trap followed by the idiot Fernando throwing Ori out on her backside and signing over all control of his assets to Ter; Mari's prison fight leading to the whole story of the baby-napping. Looks like Ruben falls into a baby trap set by Aida and the cops at Espe's tonight. Yay! I am so ready for Roddy to be back with his mother and away from the wacko.

Still a mystery what will happen with Teresa and Art. She is really trying to delay this divorce.

**sigh** It's not you, it's me.

Oh that's real cute; very funny, and very mature! :^)

It's been a blast Paquita, I look forward to your last recap.

Great recap of last night's episode. I thought somehow I fell asleep, it seemed to jump around, but I knew I would be reading an excellent recap today to put it all together.

The ending with Mariano all of a sudden outfisting a hardened bad guy and then getting him to confess, went by too quickly for me, would loved to have seen how they accomplished that!

But probably the payoff will be to see Aida's confrontation of Big Daddy - that should be some scene.

I do have to say I am still fastforwarding through Teresa's scenes, just can't handle it.

Sharkbyte, thanks for the funny recap. At this point it looks like Arturo and Teresa may stay together. If he takes her back he's an idiot. He doesn't even know most of the horrors she's committed in the name of greed. She continues to lie with ease and it's obvious she continues to choose money over him. Now, she trying to get both...
jb

Thanks for a great recap, SharkByte, and for throwing some light on some obscure passages. I could NOT figure out who Mutt and Jeff were, at the jail with Arturo -- and the jump to the Rubigote baby-napping theory seemed awfully fast.

When your TV winked out, yes, Gramps did say specifically that Pati's mother's husband was not her father.

"I do have to say I am still fastforwarding through Teresa's scenes, just can't handle it."
Funny, Teresa's scenes are the ONLY ones I am watching. All the others are getting the good ole FF!

Stupid baby napping, stupid Gramps (why do I care Paty's dad is not her real dad? Why tell me this at cap 148?).
Stupid Buttberto, Skank Lucia, Odia Oriana, Dumba$$ Fernando, Cluless Hernan, Lilly-livered Espe, all but Fernando can disappear from screen and not be missed one little bit.

Fernando has to stay because I want to see Teresa destroy the lust addled doofuss. What a pr*ck (literally) he deserves everything Teresa does to him. ( which I'm
betting WON'T be the "do" that he is after)

OMG Arturo, you and Teresa are two peas in a pod. Both so proud full you won't fess up to the other. Both playing the "I'm so over you" card. Now if Fernando hadn't come barging in when Arturo was asking why Teresa missed the appointment for the divorce, they may have reconciled. She was starting to tell him she still loves him and that's what he went in there wanting to know.

A huge Thank You to SharkByte for the recaps, the laughs, the screenshots, the Teresa Montage.

Diann

Sharkbyte, thank you for the recap, it was fun and full of details.

Thanks also for the ride through these shark filled waters the last couple of months, with screen shots no less.

By my count, you have come up with 56 names for Cutberto. I can image how many there would have been if you had recapped from the beginning.

Rosemary

What did I miss with Stinkberto's black eye? Juana and Stinko truly disgust me, but I realize now that Juana is the catalyst to move scenes from one place to the next. Still ... can't stand her.

Sharkbyte, thank you so much for this recap. I love Ter's expressions when she's pulling Fer around. There was a point when he was yelling at Oriana that Teresa was slithering over her shoulder. It reminded me of a bad snake sidekick or the eels around the sea witch in The Little Mermaid rather than a shark.

As much as Patty and Co. annoy me, the last convo she had with Gramps today was actually interesting and it seems she may make some sort of difference in these last episodes.

How will they wrap up all this craziness in 4 hours? Hopefully it's not all scatterbrained like the previous episode. This one was fast but the flow seemed to be okay.

Anon- I believe Juana gave Cutberto the black eye after he had been out all night working. She did it out of jealousy because she thought he was out with a woman. However, Pati, the voice of reason, said she would have asked her husband calmly where he had been, not jumped to conclusions, and believed his story about working. This made Johnny happy, and Juana feel guilty. Not a good sign for a relationship when the wife distrusts her husband so much that she starts beating him! I wouldn't give them a baby if I were an adoption agency.

Standing O!!! Brava! Brava!!

I for one will be so sad on Thursday mornings not having my Sharkbyte Teresa recap to brighten my day. You have been awesome, as have all the fab recappers.

And if it's any consolation, if Aurora hadn't hooked up with Mariano, you two would have been perfect together.

So maybe this is where Her Screechiness can be redeemed. She'll expose her good for nothing father and his bleached & tucked co-hort.

I guess growing up in the neighborhood taught Mariano a few extra survival skills. He may be skinny, but he can hold his own in a fight! Never forget those childhood lessons...never know when you need them. Love Aurora's slap - I need her over at Cuando right now with a few people.

Two more....

Ah Vivi, thanks for the clarification. I'm sure Juanabrain and Dumberto (these names have been coined before)will have a child at the end of all this .. poor kid, but unfortunately there are far worse parents.

Sharkbyte, great recap. I loved the 'best criminologists-Scooby, Shaggy, Velma and Fred' phrase. I never have enough from the recappers you guys put up. Good work. I will certainly miss this TN when it comes to an end. Gracias. Diana from Kenya.ts-Scooby, Shaggy, Velma and Fred' phrase. I never have enough from the recappers you guys put up. Good work. I will certainly miss this TN when it comes to an end. Gracias. Diana from Kenya.

Muchos gracias for all the hard work and funnies Sharkbyte. Great recap!

...After months of hard work interpreting shark talk through dangerous, sharkette-infested waters, Sharkbyte the friendly shark turned, waved his dorsal fin goodbye, then swam back into the relatively safer waters of the deep open blue sea...

All of the recappers have been so much fun. Hard to believe that Monday will be the finale. Thanks much!

Lady Lisa de Saint Helena

Did anyone else notice that Teresa's eyeshadow was almost back to normal by the end of the episode? You can see this in the great picture that Sharkbyte took of the last scene.

Could this be fore-eyeshadowing of events to come?

Aleta, I noticed the eyeshadow last night. It was really evident when she was at her father's grave.

Rosemary

Fore-eyeshadowing! Good one, Aleta! I noticed it, too. Also, Tere is obviously not in mourning anymore, with that Pebbles Flintstone dress she put on...

I am wondering if the purpose of the info on Pati's papi is just so she can reassure Espe that someone can grow up just fine without their Dad -- after Ruben's out of the picture (fingers crossed.)

Great work, SharkByte. 56 names for Cutberto? I'm impressed.

But I would like to see him get a brain in the finale.

As for Teresa and Arturo, he should have his license revoked if he gets back together with her because it will show that he's lost all his IQ points. She will never stop lying, never learn that her greed and her need for control isn't going to get her anywhere she intends to end up, and will lose her the few people she can call friends.

She enjoys other people's pain. That's not going to change either.

She has no good choices left. Saving Mariano and even getting Rodrigo back won't erase the bad she's done.

As for Ruben, he needs to be locked up for a loooooong time. And if Esperanza can sue him and Genovenom for pain and suffering she should. Genovenom needs to do time for kidnapping, too. Since she did a public service by killing Fito, I'd give her a pass on that.

On another note, just where does Ruben expect to get any money if he ditches Genovenom anyway? Or does he just intend to run from both women and not care which ends up with the baby?

I have thoroughly enjoyed your recaps and well as screen caps Sharkbyte. Thank you for taking over when Samantha could no longer do the recaps and giving us hilarious recaps as well as the man rules. You rock Sharkbyte. On to the episode. Teresa finds herself in a quandary. She really doesn't want to divorce Arturo but she wants Fernando's millions. What's a girl to do. It seems that Arturo did entertain the thought of forgiving Teresa and giving her another chance. Will they reconcile tonight? With only three more episodes to go I really don't know who Teresa will end up with. I really don't want Arturo to end with up Lucia. She's just ugh.

So now Aida will realize that her dad and Geno kidnapped baby Rodrigo and she will see that Teresa was actually right LOL.

Fernando is such a fool. It will serve him right when Teresa takes him to the cleaners after he ignored everyone's warnings. Even though Oriana isn't exactly a nice person he was very rude to his mother. He's a pest and a loose cannon.

Thanks again for an awesome recap Sharkbyte. I have really enjoyed this community of recappers and commentators.

I think Arturo and Teresa might have come a co-dependent relationship. I think no matter how destructive and unhealthy their relationship is, they will somehow end up together.

Ok, on to important matters - I'm trying to strategize a way to celebrate the Teresa grand finale on Monday without garnering the riducule of my other broheim friends.

It wouldn't be so bad if it didn't conflict with Monday Night Football. But it does, and now, if I have a party and get out the beer and snacks and turn on a telenovela instead of football, I will never hear the end of it.

In fact, I may have my man card taken away for that.

I think I'll have to go for the big guns - Margaritas and Fajitas - and I'm talking the really good Margaritas with top of the line liqueurs, different flavors - the works.

This may be an effective diversion to throw the guys off the trail.

I'll have the football game on one TV, and Teresa on another, and I'll pretend my girlfriend is forcing me to watch the Telenovela, because, you know how chicks are...

That and some U.S. Prime beef, chicken, shrimp, and veggie fajitas and my friends probably won't care.

If any of my friends ask me why I'm watching a friggin' spanish soap opera instead of football, I'll just say - "have you tried those mango margaritas? They're excellent broheim, excellent. Here, let me get you a pitcher..." - and I think my problem will be solved.

That's my strategy thus far.

Regrets...I have a few. I am regretting that this fun ride called "Teresa" is almost over and I will miss all the entertaining recaps which also were so full of helpful details as well. SharkByte, you have been such fun with all your names for Buttberto, your male perspective and your great screencaps. I keep returning to your screencap link....it's great. Laughed at your latest comments on the Scooby Doo Gang of Detectives and Lucia running off to the sale of tube tops at the skank store.

I'm enjoying the writers playing with us with Teresa's eyeshadow and eyebrows which are evolving with her inner darkness. Hopefully, she'll be redeemed so we don't have to watch her with those raccoon eyes that were mentioned.

Three episodes to go and so much to resolve. I'm still on Team Tere/Art though Tere did sc*** over Luisa but then Fer would probably always be tempted and straying from Luisa in the future. Still it's no excuse for her betrayal of Luisa. It's been just a bit choppy as mentioned. I guess we never saw Mayra's big revelation to Aida of the kiss between Geno and Rubes. Or maybe I didn't catch it.

Anyway, thanks for a terrific time, SharkByte. Hope you'll recap again sometime soon. And good luck to you and Aurora if she and Mar don't work out.

GinCA

Sharkbyte...one of your best recaps filled with fun!

“She doesn’t care, she’ll go anywhere for him, because she can’t be without him. Awwww (barf)” That comment is so good and so funny!

“Ah, if he only had a brain...” Awwww so cute, The Wizard of Oz

“Teresa can’t understand why everyone thinks the worst of her! (She actually said that).” She needs to watch the reruns of Teresa, maybe she’ll learn something!

“Add Patty to the mix and that’s a sandwich I’d like to be in the middle of!” That is solid gold Sharkbyte!

“apparently there's a sale on tube tops at the skank store.” You gotta love a guy who can dish a little!

Sharkbyte you, have brought a lot of laughter to a serious novela. Your photos are Oscar nomination worthy (I’m mad at the Premios because they gypped SR!) because you catch just the right moment! Thanks for all your hard work, we’ve loved every palabra!

That was some weird chopping with the scenes in the reclusorio. It would have seemed that the Aida/Mariano/detectives stuff shouldn’t have been left on the cutting room floor!

Rosemary, LOL!! I had no idea 56 names for Fuzzberto had accumulated! Pinchberto has been a lot of fun to ridicule. Maybe Porkberto will get a brain after all... I still like the ending for him I came up with - he gets struck in the head by lightning and becomes the world's greatest scientist. That would be cool.

Regrets, yeah I have a few...

I tried to get a screenshot for Blue Lass of Finkberto's backside, since I know she's into that sort of thing, but no luck.

If there had been another shower scene of Arturo I would have grabbed some screenshots for Paquita, Vivi, daisynjay, UA and the rest of the Caray ladies, but alas, it was not to be.

The Teresa producers also never put on a lingerie show for me, even though I specifically requested it like five times.

I will definitely miss Vivi's awesome factoids and her incredible recall of story details that added to the enjoyment of the episodes.

I will regret not seeing anymore sly broheim comments on my recaps from the awesome Sandy, daisynjay, Pirate Babe, Cap'n Silvia, Diann, Diana, GinCA who was always wonderful, the super-fun Elle, Lady Lisa de St. Helena The Great, parsley sage Rosemary and thyme, the nifty broheim Blue Lass, broheim Jardinera, Nellie, and broheim UA's intellectual ying to my low-brow yang.

Of course I'll regret not getting anymore fun comments from Susanita, who by the way, my girlfriend is still very suspicious of, and I'll truly miss the hiliarious wit of Kristoise - that girl is a riot - and the other half of Thursday, the famous Elvira, and of course, the awesome, Paquita, my recapping hero.

You're a fun group. I'll miss you crazy chicas.

Here's a thought on your Monday night Teresa/Football fest. Just ask the guys, hey, I thought if the game doesn't deliver, looking at a few hot chicks couldn't hurt. Have a few selected shots available of some of the more provactive moments Teresa and the girls have given us...betcha they may not fight to hard to take a gander over once in awhile...

It's the Colts/Bucs - might need an occassional diversion.

Brilliant idea daisynjay, simply brilliant, you know...for a chick.

Good thought, Daisynjay -- the Colts are even more of a downhill train wreck than Teresa.

I will be on a maldito business trip on Monday night, and chances are my hotel will not have Univision, WHICH MAKES ME WANT TO SCREAM. Please, please, everyone -- help me find it online somewhere afterward so I can watch. (I do want to see all 3 endings if possible, but it's most important that I get to see the one everyone else saw!) I'm trying to get my husband to tape it for me, but he is showing less than optimal enthusiasm for some reason. And he doesn't even know about my mariachi fetish. I don't think.

Sharkbyte, sounds like a great party Im willing to show up just to prevent the guys from taking your man card since you've given the caray family such enjoyment with your recaps.

I think aida is the only person Teresa hasnt lied to yet Aida never believes Teresa

I'm also hoping that Teresa and Auturo will end up together

Ah, gee thanks, Sharkbyte. (I think).

SharkByte, I just developed a great recipe for arroz con pollo, if you're interested. Different margaritas works (although I prefer the original one frozen) and nobody says "no" to fajitas.

However, you can always try to sell novelas to guys because of the silicon stock values.

Word confirmation: bedliker

UA, I swear there's a person in there making up these verification words.

UA - arroz con pollo sounds good; I'm definitely interested.

Jarocha also sent me an empanada recipie that was pretty good so I might throw a few of those in for good measure. I also make a mean quesadilla.

UA - my favorite margarita is the original one as well, but a friend from San Diego turned me on to some different flavored margaritas coupled with fish tacos and it was dy-no-mite!

Can anyone tell me why Teresa was roaming around town wearing a big beige bath scrubbie scrunchie thing?

No?

What are those "word verifications" anyway? Is that some kind of secret chica code, known only to secret government agents from the Federal Bureau of Chicas?

i love your comments Diann. I too find paty and johnny extremely boring and honestly irrelevant. Aurora and mariano are also boring, typical i love you, i love you more, nothing spicy. Juana and cutberto, well they make me laugh, hernan, you are an idiot and so is esperanza. The only good thing is watching teresa playing fernando for a fool and him getting blue balls.
orianna is out of control, i love how teresa turned the tables on her. she has the nerve to criticize teresa on how she operates dirty. Hello! since when is offering someone money or better yet i should say trying to buy someone is any good ? Teresa please take fernando to the cleaners, I would love to see oriana cry. By the way, oriana leave it to my girl to be bad, You need more practice. When will these two, orianna and aida learn that it's best if you avoid my girl.
I know i'm an aurora hater, but i actually liked that she slapped mariano last night. If it had been months and years that he was incarcerated, yeah it would make sense that mariano would feel this way, to let her go, but He was only locked up for a day or two, come on. I know that she truly loves him, and i know that he loves her but I'm not so sure that his feelings for her are that deep. Nothing like i can't leave without my teresa. For some reason, it seems that he loved teresa more. Men Just love it when you give them headaches.

I really hope that art and teresa get back together. With mariano it was different, her first love, they had great chemistry, grew up together, they also had their dreams, it was beautiful. with art, it was more than beautiful. she was living those dreams, she had a friend, a business partner, I loved when and how they confronted whoever stood in their way, they had each other's backs and their love making was so sweet, sometimes intense, so playful, she became a woman in love. I really hope they do end up together.

people who have no remorse have no heart and The fact that she is struggling with her emotions, about choosing money over love shows that my girl is not so bad. I'm so tempted to go on youtube to see how this is going to end. Uh! three more days!
ser or no ser teresa is !

Teresa has no class, she likes to wear cocktail dresses anywhere, anytime.

Arroz con pollo

8 chicken parts or 3 lbs boneless chicken (do not pound thin)
Adobo seasoning (regular)
olive oil
1 large bell pepper, chopped
1 large onion, chopped
5 garlic cloves, minced
2 large tomatoes, chopped
2 cups chicken stock
4 tsp paprika
¾ tsp saffron
1 cup dry white wine
2 cups rice
leaves from 1/2 bunch cilantro (optional)
1 cup peas and carrots
4 tbsp alcaparrado

Season chicken and fry in olive oil in a deep skillet or Dutch oven, approximately 10 minutes per side. Remove from pan and put aside. Pour off chicken fat and ash, add more olive oil to the pan, and saute onion, pepper, and garlic until slightly tender. Add next five ingredients. When boiling point is reached, add rice and stir. Place chicken pieces on top, lower heat, and cook for 5 minutes less than rice package specifies. Add peas, carrots, and alcaparrado and cook remaining five minutes. Allow pan to stand covered on stove for 5 minutes before serving.

As to margaritas, I've used blue curacao in place of triple sec and that works just fine.

Here's another chicken recipe that everyone will love and it's much simpler:

South of the Border Oven-Fried Chicken

8-12 chicken parts*
1 jar Goya Recaito
1 bottle Goya Medium Salsa Verde
Adobo seasoning (regular)
plain bread crumbs
olive oil

Mix the green stuff together and marinate chicken in it at room temperature for 2-3 hours. Add adobo to bread crumbs and pre-heat oven to 375 degrees. When removing chicken from marinade container make sure pieces are decently coated with the marinade before dredging in the bread crumb and adobo mixture. Place in pans greased with olive oil and bake for 60-75 minutes, turning at least once. Wings may need slightly more time due to the thickness of the skin; the objective is crispy.

Serve with salsa, guacamole, and sour cream and a rice- or bean-based side dish.

Can be eaten cold, but if you want to reheat, place in 350-degree oven for 20 minutes on a bed of sliced bell peppers.

*Do not use skinless chicken. If doing wings, disjoint into the smaller pieces.

Yummm, thanks for the recipies UA!

I'll also regret that I will no longer get comments from Jarocha, who is always a lot of fun! And a great source of cool information.

SharkByte, I arrived at this TN somewhere near the middle and didn't realize you were a replacement recapper, but your recaps have been my good fortune, not just for your male perspective (albeit a very clued-in male), but for your sense of humor which left me with a fine spray of coffee all over my computer screen more than once--a gift for which I will be forever grateful.

I must say, I've never seen a TN's main character exhibit such contradictions. Teresa is an excellent manipulator, if she could only decide what she really wants. Now it seems everything she's set up with Fernando is going to suck her down the drain with him, just when she's doing right by Mariano (testifying for him), and realizing the true importance of love with Arturo. Maybe the true mala hembra is Oriana who has to have as much control of every aspect of anyone's life as she possibly can.

Usually at this point in a TN, the writing is clearly on the wall, and the viewers all know that the good guys will get married and/or live happily ever after. Sometimes the bad guys are dispatched with a zinger for shock value, which is the only real unpredictable thing. But this time, in spite of all the horrible things our heroine has done in the course of this novela, I, too, find myself hoping for her redemption. Who was it who mentioned American audiences loving their happy endings? I guess I'm no exception, but with this novela, it's still anyone's guess.

My DEAR Sharkbyte!!! Well...here we are...almost to the end and I just KNEW, absolutely KNEW I could count on another super recap from you!

As luck would have it, Justin.tv (remember I am stuck in a hotel with NO uni!!!)did not have Univision Pacifico on their list of live showings last night. So, I missed 'Teresa' and 'CME'. NOT FAIR!

You picked just the right fotos to accompany your recap. For that, I thank you!

Teresa's raccoon eyes are still there, but agree that there has been some fiddling with the eyebrow pencil. Still, I find myself looking at Teresa's eye make up and remembering the gang of thieves that Ralphie was trying to shoot in "A Christmas Story". They had on raccoon masks!!!

Blue Lass: I am laughing out loud at your Pebbles Flintstones outfit comment! A good one!! Teresa is really looking like a woman of the streets with some of her outfits lately.

Somehow, I just don't trust Teresa. The fact that she can continue to so smoothly lie to both her mother and Juana are still bothering me at this juncture.

Perhaps Art and Teresa just deserve their dysfunctional relationship. It's rather like an old fashioned vinyl disc that is scratched and never moves from it scratched and damaged place.

Will Luisa reappear? Will Lucia straighten her hair? Will Gramps die? Will Patti do something to save someone in this sad little group of characters? Will Juana ever see the light (or does she already and will never admit she does?)

Will Fito come back to haunt Teresa from the grave?

So many questions and so little time.

I'm going to miss this jolly ole TN. What a wonderful group you have all been!

Sharkbyte, dear amigo, you had better join us over on CME. I want to make sure I keep your novia guessing!!

It has been great having the male perspective. Thank you again!

Susanita

Sharkbyte, what a snappy and descriptive recap, as always. I don't know how you do it, but you always capture the most perfect shots. Frankly, I can live without ***Berto's heinie immortalized, so I don't think a thing was missing ;).

Sounds like you throw a great party...those fajitas and margaritas will surely get anyone in the mood for some telenovela viewing...and a FINALE, can't beat that for excitement! You all are making me hungry with your recipes and such.

I was cheering Aurora on when she gave Mariano what-for. I mean really. Pretty insulting that he thinks she can't handle a little adversity. A real partnership means you stick together in good times and bad.

I couldn't believe Fernandolt was actually signing authority over to Teresa. What an idiot. He deserves whatever is going to happen to him because of it. Teresa didn't even make much of a case for it. SHE's going to negotiate with Oriana?! Yeah, that should go over well.

"Happy ending" is a relative term. Americans also want justice.

I'm a huge fan of Law & Order SVU which is the last of the three shows to still be in production. The first season was all about the investigation and there were no trials. This changed in Season Two to the same format as the original show, with a regular ADA and usually a trial. The audience felt unsatisfied without an appropriate conclusion to the case and appropriate punishment for the perps.

One of the things I love about Mexican TNs is the poetic justice meted out to wrongdoers.

Teresa deserves punishment. She has hurt so many people and if Arturo is foolish enough to stay with her she will continue to hurt him. I think she has overplayed her hand by not taking Oriana's deal. Her desire to use Fernando to hurt Oriana will be her downfall. It already hurts Fernando that she has alienated them from each other. She has lost both Luisa and Aurora as friends. Her father is dead and her mother may yet realize how that happened. Mariano finally saw through her. Only Esperanza and Juana remain.

Taking Oriana's offer would probably give her enough money to live well for the rest of her life without having to work. However, she will have a rep that will isolate her unless she moves far away.

UA: Do you think that there is a 'need' for Juana to have the veil lifted from her eyes wrt Teresa?

I am on the fence on this one and would like to hear your thoughts.

I think Refugio has known from day one what her daughter 'is'. Refugio might ignore things because they are so painful for her. Many of Teresa's actions have scared Refugio. I can understand her not wanting to confront some of these issues head on.

Juana has never felt that way (at least from what I have seen) re Teresa's actions. She is always amongst the first to defend Teresa.

I wonder...do you think Fernando, in his ever increasing anger, would ever tell Refugio what Teresa and Don Armando were discussing the day he died?

I think Fernando is a time bomb just ticking away.

In any event, your thoughts appreciated!

Susanita

Although we all think Cutberto is an idiot, I think he is in a position to pull the blinders off Juana. Starting with the reminder that Teresa insulted her by buying an expensive bridal gown instead of wearing the one she made for her. After years of Juana making her everyday clothes. He needs to protect her from future hurt. He just needs to be a more effective communicator.

Fernando is a ticking bomb waiting to explode. Between Teresa giving him cojones azules and alienating him from his mama, he will reach a breaking point. Especially if he also loses his dinero. If she finds out about that soon enough she'll walk and he will either learn the same lesson as Mariano and Arturo or he will explode. And that won't be pretty.

Fantastic recap SharkByte! I'm really gonna miss you and your awesome commentary on the characteres and events during your recaps.

Sorry for comming in so late, I've been having a pretty crazy day.

I loved Aurora slapping Mariano, I hate those self sacrificing type of scenes and I'm glad the writers didn't let Mariano get away with it. It probably had to do with the fact that the novela is ending already but whatever, I'm happy.

I had to laugh at Mariano having one last fight before the novela ended. I think he only left out a fight with Fernando during the whole thing. Such a shame.

I feel no pity for Fernando, he is the one who is digging himself in the whole and using teresa as a shovel.

Lets see how this crazy thing ends over there!

Jarocha

OOOPS!!!

Whoever can do editing, please edit the Arroz con pollo recipe to add 3 bay leaves!

SharkByte, if you make either of these please let me know how the food was received. The ADP recipe is brand new to me.

UA - I can't do editing, but I can add the bay leaves to my copy. I'll let you know how it goes. I think I'm going to need to double the recipe or make multiple batches.

"Happy ending" is a relative term.

Yes UA, you are correct, it is a relative term, but it usually ranges between 50 - 100 bucks.

Oh wait, are we talking about the same thing?

Yikes, I just saw another promo for Teresa on La Esperanza del Coracon. It went by with lightening speed, but with about 15 times of playback in slo motion an pauses I saw some weird stuff. Arturo is hospital with oxygen mask & neck brace. Nooooo!

Glad you caught that, SharkByte. Also, the peas and carrots should be frozen rather than canned. Canned peas are typically very sweet.

How many people are you expecting?

SharkByte, gracias hermano for your scathingly brilliant recaps, your wonderful screen shots, your extra credit (foto history) and your enthusiasm. You are a huge asset to this blog, that's for sure. The male perspective is always appreciated here and your energy is irresistible. I hope you plan to continue recapping in the future.
