Alborada, 10/6/2011. Cap. 91. Asi es, y asi será
On YouTube, haguilar78's clips for Cap 90 start at this link. Apparantly the original Cap 90 was spread over yesterday and today.
Thank you, Carlos, for today's pictures.

They grow up so fast, don't they?

I was glad to see Diego's daughters at places of honor at the wedding and finally able to enjoy themselves. I love how they include all those little details in this novela. It was very cute when Isabel was dancing with Rafael and his cousins.
Carla Estrada sighting! At the baptism she was sitting at the table with Team Sarah. (In their first scene, not subsequent.)
Gosh, I can't believe it's over. Alborada literally flew by.
Thank you Paula for initiating and doing the daily posts. Thank you Carlos for your superb screen shots.
Paula, we look forward to the follow-up treat of more screen shots.
The timing of Juana's and Diego's exit was perfect.
Carlos
Thank you, Paula and Carlos, for making this possible. I doubt that I ever would have watched Alborada if I hadn't had people to check in with each day!
Someone mentioned yesterday that they'd like to see the guy who played Vicente in a leading role. I'll second (or third or fourth) that one! He lit up the screen in Destilando.
Susanlynn, I'm watching Familia con Suerte now; much to my surprise, I really like it so far (I usually hate the comedies, LFMB notwithstanding). Melinama and I are the only recappers on that one so far, so read at your own risk!
I loved when Asuncion told Hip that she was proud of her, etc. and when she told Francisco she was taking off. I'm still disappointed that Francisco didn't slip on a horse turn and sustain a fatal head injury, but something tells me Asuncion won't take any more grief from him, regardless.
I'm displeased that Juana and Diego got to die peacefully and with minimal bad publicity, while Modesta took the fall for everything. Yes, I know that's how things often were, but Carla did a better job with that in Pasion. (I won't say more about that in case Cindy is thinking of watching.)
I'm still unhappy that Marcos accepted Perla after all the disgruntled squawking she did about not getting a "name" for her child. But it's not as though I was going to end up with him, anyway...
Was Eloise in the finale at all? I know she wasn't a major character, but she deserved a consolation prize.
I really was happy with the way everything turned out, though. And the pacing of the wind-down was just right. There were a few weeks between Gasca's execution and the very end, as things began to fall apart one at a time, instead of being rushed through the last two hours as we've seen in so many other TNs.
Very, very satisfying. Thanks again, Paula, Carlos, and commenters all!
Paula, what a perfect title for today's post. I didn't even notice it earlier.
Hadn't thought about the Count thing after independence. I don't think it will bother Luis.
Glad I have a tape of the last episode, I'll ck all the faces at the baby gathering.
I noticed little Aurora was born with black hair & later it's blond. Surely there must have been babies with dark hair around. Oh well, not very much wrong with this novela.
I am also enjoying La familia so far & usually I don't find comedies funny. Hard to catch humor in a foreign language. Just glad Teresa is over, got really tired of her antics.I wonder how it compares to the Salma Hayek "Teresa"?
Variopinta
Paula and Carlos- Thank you for giving us such a wonderful space to gaze at the stars of this novela and discuss. It was lots of fun.
I agree that both Perla and Francisco got better ends than they deserved. But, oh well! Perla in particular, ended up with a sweet deal. Marcos AND living in Antonio's big house with servants. All that, after causing Hip's kidnapping, leading to Martin's death, and putting in motion Hip's arrest and whipping, leading to Antonio's death! None of Francisco's antics led to anyone's death.
Susanlynn - "Francisco's punishment was...being Francisco." So true! Sometimes I need to be reminded that being obnoxious is often its own punishment.
I loved Hipo's wedding dress and veil, although the train was too far too long.
I worry that independence from Spain will bring war to Cuencas and los Guevara. The music in that scene was a bit ominous, despite the cheering crowd.
I wish Fernando C.would learn to dance - it the only thing he lacks to be TBLMOE perfecto . I had to imagine him and Hipo doing a beautiful dance.
Do you think he'd be on "Mira Quien Baila"? Nah, probably not.
Thank you Paula and Carlos for eveything; it made this even more fun.
I would love to see Vicente in more shows -he was so good in "Destilando Amor" , plus he's guapo.
What will I watch now, aside from the quick glances at "Cuando Me Enamoro"? There's a drought in novelaland, almost as bad as the real (weather)drought here at home!
I'll give "Familia CS" a try because some of positive comments here. It will amusing to watch Sergio Sendel playing a role where he loves a dog.(I think that's correct).
Here's hoping FC makes a good novela soon.
Una Familia CS is quite fun and I'm really enjoying it. I hope you give it a try.
Alborada was my first telenovela (and still tied with Pasion for my favourite), and even when I couldn't remember anything else, I have never forgotten the death scene of Juana and Diego. Of course I haven't watched nearly as many novelas as the rest of the crew here, but it's always stood out to me for how...not-stereotypically-awful it was. It wasn't gory, it wasn't a public spectacle, it wasn't even that ironic (unless you're just looking at the pride-goeth-before-a-really-long-fall aspect). It was just sad, sad and regal. (I never forgot Antonio falling down that stone stairwell, either. So much drama in Alborada, and all of it so well done!)
I have to call BS on Marcos and Perla, though. I didn't think too much on it the first time, but now I'm convinced he deserved far better than her. On Asuncion and Fransisco, too. (Did you catch Isabel elbowing Asuncion at the end? There are so many reasons I love her!) Then again, my overall reaction the first time around was, "So the happy ending for everyone is to end up married and pregnant? Blech." I suppose historically, that's the most the women could have asked for, but still.
I could go for Pasion being rerun myself, but I may be biased. I don't think I've ever seen a (live-action) show so full of my type of eye candy!
Thank you for all the hosting duties. I am glad I caught up with you guys watching in prime time. This was a great show and took the bad taste from my mouth after watching Triunfo del Amor, my first TN.
Thank you Julie for not being a spoiler. It will be a while before I watch Pasion though. I do plan to spend some time every day on Rosetta Stone for a few months before I reward myself with Pasion. I just don't have the time to start another one now. Maybe next summer.
Something that bothered me - would Antonio be blamed for Diego's death if they put forth that Diego died of his wounds? Or would they simply blame it all on Modesta?
My DVR did not tape this last episode. I had watched on Wednesday thinking that was the last show and had been edited. I was looking forward to watching it in large screen HD when I got home last night from night class. Oh well, if it were that important, I could get it off Youtube on a DVD and watch it. Actually, I may just do that anyway. The reviews of the DVD of Alborado from Amazon call it too chopped. But then again, maybe a series of Youtube videos might be unbearably chopped.
Thanks again! Oh, and I thought I saw Eloise at the wedding.
Cindy
Cindy, Alborada is not chopped up on YouTube, so that's a great way to watch it. In fact, it's more complete than what was shown on Telefutura - though it appears that most of the cut scenes were probably of Diego using the chamber pot. And if you use Haguilar78's playlists, you can watch five episodes in a row without having to lift a finger.
Anya, yes, in Familia, Sergio dotes on a little Pomeranian. He says she's the only being on earth who's never betrayed him.
In general, though, I think he doesn't dance.
Novelera in Az
Novelera, I forgot about the ball scene in Amor Real. Gives me a good excuse pull out the (badly edited) DVD and take a peek.
The screen shots were wonderful but I have to admit that my favorite is still the father and son hands.
Rosemary
I just e-mailed Carlos with a request for one last screenshot. So be sure to check back here later today, to watch for it.
I look forward to seeing many of you again on the path of my next TN journey. If they ever rebroadcast the Polomo/Gonzalez Corazon Salvaje, you can be sure that I'll make a board for that.
I share the frustration with everyone about the Marcos and Perla's pairing. I upseted me the first time and still did this time around. He deserved so much better. For example Me!. Did anybody noticed that at the weeding day Hip was not showing while Perla was. Hip had to be at least three months more advance than Perla or Cata.
I was not so bothered by the Marcos/Perla pairing. I think he always had the hots for her but she was too dense to appreciate him, plus she was being supported by someone with better means (Luis and then Antonio) and she pretty consistently went for the best offer at the time. Marcos knows her quite well and if he's cool with her personality traits and chooses to live with them then so be it. At the end of all this I think she learned some important lessons, was regretful about some of the things she'd done and was more appreciative of a man like Marcos. I can't argue that he deserved better, but he got what he'd always wanted.
The one that torques my shorts is Francisco. Sure, he never killed anyone. As far as recall, he never even stole. But he was a dirty rotten shnook throughout, and at the very least, I would've liked to see him publicly humiliated.
But you and Carlos have provided a bright spot on the CarayCaray page for months now, and I love how you continue to be the thinker, analyzer and teacher right to the end.
Gracias for all you do and are, Paula. And you too Dr. Carlos!
Agreed. TBLMOE don't dance. He don't speak English neither. I guess you can't be perfect in everything. That's okay - Jaime Camil dances like a dream, but he can't play baseball - he throws like a girl! And my boss, a certifiable genius, could never remember the name of the scty who worked for him for five years. Go figure!
And to Carlos for all those lovely screenshots - it added so much!
Loved the "conga line" at the wedding - lovely fun touch.
There are some great Alborada bloopers videos on YouTube - I have been laughing my head off.
Wow - TBLMOE doesn't dance? Shocking!
Audrey
Regarding the larger pictures - when you do that, it creates spacing problems with the other pictures. I noticed when it was loading that there was a smaller picture underneath it. When the big picture loads, it completely overlaps the small one. (Maybe it doesn't happen in all browsers, or maybe it depends on your screen resolution.)
Audrey, I also enjoyed the Alborada bloopers. I think maybe my favorite one was when Arturo Peniche (Antonio) came onto a scene wearing his boxers with a face or something drawn on the front.
Blogger can lay out the pictures nicely (more or less) if you use its sizing options, but seems to get confused if you specify a custom size.
The nice thing is, even if you choose the smallest size option (which is least likely to cause layout issues), we can still view the picture at full size by clicking on it.
