Cuando Me Enamoro #124 Wednesday 10/12/11 Let's Celebrate happiness... NOT...

Recap by Marta Ivett:

Sorry did not have much time, watched the ep this morning and this recap is out of memory basically...

Renata meets with Augie at restaurant…
She tells him fairly directly that she wants to break up with him because as he knows, she has not stopped loving Jero and she reconciled with him.
Augie tries to give her a guilt trip and then drops the bomb on her, that Marina is expecting a child of Jero’s… and maybe with this news Renata might change her plans.

Meanwhile Jero visits Gina and they congratulate each other on the newly found happiness…

Berta goes to Augie’s hotel room but he wants nothing to do with her…

At the office Adri and Matt are ready for the trip, suitcases in the office all packed up. Chema comes in and is not remembering at all his chat with Adri the day before, he even calls her mi amor and wants to go out to dinner. She tries to explain in the most gentle way she can that she talked to him last night and she is about to go on a trip with Matt… In comes Matt, who is not so ‘gentle’ in unceremoniously telling Chema to butt out and that they are heading out on a trip together. Chema is very confused but leaves…

Roberta convinces Gina to let her go out alone and meets with Fina in a restroom in the mall, avoiding the guards that Gonzo had sent with Berta and Fina. I believe Fina tells her that they have to get rid of Gina soon, before she turns 25. Berta is not really invested in the plan but since fina keeps repeating to her that she likes living with plenty of money, she can always tell Gina the truth and Berta would lose everything…

Fina watches Berta and gets concerned about her health, that nothing can happen to her BEFORE they get the money and they can go live the life they deserve… too funny, Fina, so Berta can’t USE you and ABANDON you at her leisure but she is only USEFUL to you until the rest of the money is in your hands… GEEZ!! (GMAB!!!!)

Gina invites everyone to got to the Virgin of Guadalupe cathedral( can’t remember how they called it) to thank God for her finding her daughter, for Connie’s recup, etc… Of course everyone says will be there…
The first one to arrive besides Gina is Renata and they share a very moving connection stare in front of the altar… then Jero and everyone else arrives, everyone is thanking God for either Berta or for their newly found happiness… except Renata who is begging God for guidance in what to do, and Berta who is still whinning that the real daughter of Gina should have been her.

After the church meeting, they meet up at Gina’s who seems to have set up a dinner and they are toasting for the new happiness around.

Nata seems to be wanting to have an internal self-torture session, she won’t tell Jero what is wrong but spends the night hugging Jero in a chair in his bedroom anyway…

Berta texts Augie that his plan did not work… Augie is smoking fire… but texts her back that he will have Nata, either the easy way or the hard way…

Carlos and Lazaro talk about the situation with Kari… they have to find a way to keep her from leaving town. Lazaro says only if Dr Nesme really died, and they tell each other that neither would go that far… of course not. Manuela tries to convince Padre to tell Kari the truth but he won’t bulge either… he enjoys her soup… funny scene…

Matt and Adri arrive at the convention.. there was only one room reserved for them, which Adri finds very inconvenient for the hotel to be full to capacity, Matt is only too happy about it.

Fina gets to buy a gun from a thug out there… (my guess: surely there will be blood and someone in the virge of death… maybe that is how things will get revealed… someone can donate and someone can’t?)

Previews are a bunch of quick shots... Augie and Jero fighting or arguing, Nata anguished... not really much revealed there...

Yep! Your title says it all Marta. We watch all this celebrating of happiness but we watch from under the porch so the anvils that are hanging over everyone won't fall on our heads.

It looks from the previews that Nata is going to the source before she tells Jero. Not a bad plan since she thinks that he doesn't know about the baby. It would be very complicated if she told him third hand about Auggie's gossip. Given her decision not to bring it up to Jero immediately I found her response touching and believable. Too sad to be up for another festive romp she just asked him to hold her. She was so sweet and vulnerable in that scene.

Speaking of the previews -- I rewound two or three times but couldn't see well enough to identify one of the clips. Someone in white is being carried into a room and everyone looks distressed. Another heart incident? A miscarriage or pregnancy scare? Another Fina attack on Regina? What a teaser this one is.

Thanks Marta...your memory is very good. Not to worry! Even though our mad crazy love scenes took a downturn, I was happy to see that Renata, while crushed, didn't reject Jeronimo. Nor did he kvetch about just holding her all night, nothing more. A very sweet scene, and compensation for all Roberta's ugly cackling, gloating and eye-rolling. Is she really all right with setting Gonzalo up for a killing? Or does she not yet realize what her mother's plan is. Ugh...I've had about as much of these two as I can take.

Watched the last 10 minutes and when I saw that Nata had not rejected Jero, felt it was safe to watch the whole ep.

Prediction for Roberta: She redeems herself and then dies of her heart prob. It does seem to bother her all the time now. How ironic that Fina was faking Roberta's heart prob all those years and it turns out she really has one and worse than Nata's. Nata has gone through both emotional and physical trauma and has only had one heart episode.

Great recap Marta! You did this from memory? I don't think you forgot anything at all. I'm impressed.

I liked the hotel check-in scene with Adri and Matias. His obvious glee and her trying-to-hide-hers was very cute.

Whenever Roberta baits Augustin it perks me up.

Poor Renata. Her not telling Jero about Marina's pregnancy was much more emotional than if she had confronted him about it. Nice job writers.

Thanks Marta!!

Robey, good observations about Berta and Nata's heart conditions. I could live with your prediction about Roberta.

I watched the preview in slo-mo and I think I know who Lazaro is carrying but we'll have to wait until my recap tonight to find out for sure.

Thanks Marta. Actually, there seems to be a lot more revealed in tonight's session as Renata is going to confront Dr. Ta Tas about being embarazada with Jero's kid.

The scene in the basilica of La Virgen de Guadalupe in Mexico City was significant. The fact that Televisa is allowed to film scenes from a novela there is a big deal because it is considered one of the most sacred places in all of Mexico, if not THE most sacred place. It was also a great commercial for what will happen exactly two months from last night on December 12--Las Mananitas in celebration of the Day of The Virgin of Guadalupe--always broadcasted live by Univision.

But I must ask: Roberta in church? Praying? Seriously??? Of course, her prayer was marinated in victimhood and all about guess who.

Marta--Your memory is still better than mine and you kept up with everything important that went on.

However, in the "breakup" scene between Augie and Nata, they went so rat-a-tat-tat that I figured, it's ok, I'll wait for the detailed recap. Funny thing, I didn't need it. She did the deed and we know Augie isn't giving up that easily. We knew from the avances that he was going to spill the beans about Marina's baby-daddy, but we didn't know how Nata was going to react. Deflated but not defeated--just another obstacle to overcome....

What is it with Augie, anyway? He has all sorts of women throwing themselves at him, yet he picks out the one that is the biggest challenge and after all this time, still hasn't fallen for his charm or gallantry one little bit.

I couldn't believe how easy it was for Berta to duck the security detail (there were enough of them). I guess Gonzo and Hono hadn't thought that far ahead about potty stops. They needed a woman on the detail.

When Nata gets to the Basilica and meets Gina, Gina gives her a medal just like the one she gave Berta, only brand new. It was a very sentimental moment when Gina puts it around her neck. Too bad Berta wasn't there to watch that little scene.

Still, later on, she notices it and I think, with a little bit of jealousy, that Gina intends to treat Nata like a daughter.

Berta gets her digs in about Nata really being the daughter of an assassin and that if Jero doesn't mind that her mother killed his brother, then she should go for it, all the while thinking to herself that she's going to see to it that she's never happy with him.

At this point--she's lost any iota of sympathy I might have had for her as being an abused (and yes, I think being the mimada child can be considered abuse in Fina's hands), manipulated child. She could have just stopped there and enjoyed having Gina faun over her and look forward to her inheritance.

Shades of the post-wedding trip to LaBonita where Jero won't wait for her to attend Adri's mother's funeral and now the tables are turned because Jero wants to stay by her side for the next day or two, but it's Nata who insists he leave. (I fear for her while Augie is still in town.)

The writers sure made me believe that Nata was again going to get in Jero's face about the Marina "thing" and they would have another big falling out by her actions at the end of the reception.

I melted when Jero picked her up, sat down in the chair and hold her so lovingly protective in his arms.

It's clear there is a bond that is going to be harder to break than a mere pregnancy, IMHO--Not. Jeez, they can't leave them alone in their new-found happiness for more than one episode?

So thankful for your recap - could only catch snipits last night, and sadly missed some of the best moments with Nata and Jero it seems. GRRR.

But I did realize after catching mostly Auggies moments, that I really can only stand that slime in small doses. Is "either/or" is dsiturbing, and at this point, none of this is about "love" for Nata but about owning something he can't have. Wonder what his childhood was like, because he will not accept no when he wants something. NOK - I'm with you. I worry now for Nata.

Berta - where was the lightening bolt? In church, lying thru her teeth as to who she is...I want to see some "thee shall be smited".

Marta: This was so well done. You narrated this perfectly and insightfully: "Nata seems to be wanting to have an internal self-torture session.." Excellent! Indeed she did.

Color me confused (but pleasantly surprised) as to why (and how) Nata said nothing to Jero about the pregnancy. Is she trying to savor and relish every second until she asks the question or will she accept the pregnancy without leaving him? As many of you commented, him lifting her up and tucking her safely and tenderly in his embrace was my favorite scene of theirs thus far.

Great comments today.

Sylvia, I am also delighted to see Roberta getting under Augie"s skin. As Judy noted her "ugly cackling, gloating and eye-rolling" are only a few of the reasons that someday, she may well push him too far. That is of course if she doesn't die of her heart condition which as Robey points out is worsening daily.

Guera: "we watch from under the porch so the anvils that are hanging over everyone won't fall on our heads" had me laughing and Anon's "her prayer was marinated in victimhood" was great.

Diana

Sylvia: Thanks. I also slo-mo'd the previews and think I know who Laz is carrying.

When I saw Gina in the church, I thought it was Nata, then realized it was Gina a split second before Nata showed up. They certainly look alike from the back. Well, done.

Robey

Thanks Marta! Buena memoria. I like your blood donation theory.

I am worried that once Jero finds out that Renata knew about the pregnancy before he did, but didn't come to him about it, (hence, deception by omission) there will be distrustful feelings anew. Ahhhh...we were so close!

Guera - I slo-mo'd the avances and it is Laz carrying Kari in a white robe (with no pears)

Rosemary la Otra

RLO: That's who I thought. Looks like she might be a victim of the flu.

Robey

I think it will be a big mess.. I remember in teh previews it showed Augie telling Jero that Nata slept with him, can you imagine if Nata becomes pregnant now from the new 'honeymoon' those two had the last 48 hrs? What a mess!!
going back to my memory banks... the nata and augie conversation did have nata expressing her feelings and saying it was not about just her being the daughter of the killer of her man's brother, but in the subject of kids, now if Jero was going to have a child with Marina, Nata worried that her 'genes' were affected by her mother so she basically considers herself less worthy of Jero having a child with than Marina... ALSO... to top it off, she began comparing herself growing up with no father (at least up until they were 9 or 10 when Fina married Gonzo) so she did not want any child to go through that, let alone Jero's child with Marina...
Augie was all but too happy to hear that self-torture session by Nata once she learned Marina was expecting a child by Jero..

and the medals... yes Gina gave Berta a medal with the virgin of guadalupe and then at church she gave another one exactly like it to Nata... When she said at the house 'toast' session that she considered both Nata and Berta her daughters and was beginning to love them the same way, Berta very unceremoniously turned her head away and went 'OH GREAT!' (que padre! ... NOT!) Berta is certainly going through half-sibling jealousy of the other half parent.

btw i know who laz was carrying, let me know if you want me to post it.

i dont think its kari.

Great recap.

But I have to wonder since Jero did not use a cap with the doc, did he use one with Renata? I got the feeling that in this aspect this TN will be different and Renata will not sail away. I wonder if both ladies are going to be pregnant at the same time? It seems to have changed, Roberta and Fina were winning and now what they expect to happen is not happening. Just a thought.

I don't understand the Kari storyline, I hope when she finds out the truth she bops Lazaro on the head.

The scene with the Priest eating the soup - what was that? I had no idea what my reacton was supposed to be. When was the last time he ate?

It would make sense for both Renata and Marina to be pregnant, as it would mirror the setup for the story with Regina and Pepa both having babies. Of course, Marina isn't a bat#%^& crazy greedy shrew.

Padre doesn't seem nearly as listless and miserable as people with the flu usually are. Don't you think he's energetic enough to take a taxi over to the prison hospital and cough on NastyNesme?

How has the hotel staff not noticed that one of their guests keeps changing her appearance and her face looks and her face looks just like a wanted criminal's? I assume she's paying in cash, too.

I thought the soup scene was very funny -- he used the soup to avoid having the conversation and also to show his discomfort with the idea that the godmother (Blanking on her name) would not keep the secret. It made me think of a Jerry Lewis style reacation.

Mathia & Adriana at the registration desk -- yes that was adorable. I liked your description, Sylvia. Now just how did it happen that there was only one room reserved. Gonsi & Honsi made the reservations -- a little matchmaking going on there?

Marta: Not Kari? I have a second choice. Ooh ooh just thought of a third choice. Should have looked closer.

Robey

LOL now i have you thinking...

Thanks, Marta Ivette, I appreciate your recap so much. It is so curious that Roberta is nothing but a double crosser in this story no matter how many chances at redemption. She feels sorry for herself at every turn. The prayers at the Basilica were marvelous. The writers really had a true moment with each character with the funniest being self-centered Roberta and misguided Regina. I did however love Regina's gift of the Guadalupe medal to each "daughter" so if Roberta and Fina weren't such evil menaces, Regina could make this blended family thing work quite well. She is so loving and accepting so I have to forgive her for being such a dunderhead after seeing her treat both sisters with such love and respect.

I agree, Cheryl, i too see Gina/Gonzo pulling this family together if it were not for Berta/Fina's antics.

Oh DaisyinJay, we think alike today: smiting soungs mighty good right now!

I don't even have a guess at the lady in white carried out so jet fast in the previews but now you all have my attention for tonight before I go off to El Grupo. Does anyone else feel the least bit weird at shaping your evening social life around events that start after CME shows? The last of Alborada was pure torture and all my techie toy money has gone into photography purchases so I can't schedule recordings.

Why is everyone so non-chalant about finding and arresting Fina and NOT one person has mentioned all the $$$ she extorted from goofball Regina...

Cheryl, that's okay...my son called yesterday and is coming home from college @ 4:00 tomorrow and staying overnight and said "hey let's do dinner". First thing out of my mouth "Sure hon,can we be home by 7:00 pm". We have it bad....

@Cheryl--Regardless of the fact that no one has mentioned it since, I think Regina is still taking Fina's menace seriously--that she will kill her daughter if she talks about anything Fina has told her.

Wonderful comments from everyone. My social calendar revolves around CME, too. Can only go to early bird movies and then light out for home.
NOK

Thanks Marta for this very crisp and informative recap.

I was surprised and pleased to see that Robi prays. Now of course it was a whiny cynical prayer... but a prayer nonetheless. I'm hopeful.

I really enjoy the way she taunts Augie, but she's like a naughty kitten trying to play with a badger. Cute but dangerous.

I thought that it was Alfonsina that Lazaro was toting, but I couldn't be sure. We'll find out soon. So how many saves does this make for Lazaro?

I'm not Chema's biggest supporter but even I thought it was awfully chilly for Adri to tell him:

"Adiós Chema, y será mejor que ya no vuelvas por aquí. ¿Sí? Adiós."

"Goodbye Chema, and it would be better that you don't come back. OK? Goodbye."

The poor guy looked really befuddled.

Carlos

Carlos, It was kind of cold of Adriana who is usually so warm with people but I thiught she was truly befuddled by his confusion and memory lapses. What is sad is that his Mother died, Selene seems to have disappeared, Constanza is back with Honorio and has her own serious health issues and now Adriana has gone off to the Sea of Cortez and doesn't want him to come back. He is really without safe harbor and he doesn't deserve it.

That was pretty uncharacteristically uncaring for Adri. She did say to Matias at the airport that as soon as she gets back she's going to make sure Chema gets to a doctor, but Chema is showing really alarming signs and she shouldn't wait. He keeps having migraines, passes out, can't remember large chunks of time and important information..."oh, you should really look into that sometime." Adri, he's clearly having brain problems and might not be able to make his own decisions about seeking healthcare. Take him to the hospital, immediately. Sheesh. I hope she has an awesome romantic evening with boring Mopius while Chema falls over dead.

Carlos: While I was going home to open up my apartment during lunch to get a little more air circulating for the cats (LA heat wave), I thought of three more choices re: Laz, and Alfosina was one of them.

I think Adri might have thought Chema was playing games and that's why she brushed him off like that.

Robey

Julia, I love your suggestion that the Padre sidle on over to the prison and cough on "nasty Nesme"

So many suggestions for who the lady in white may be. Thank heaven I CAN record the show. That way I can go out to celebrate my niece's 21st birthday at 7 and come back to check out CME later. Even with a vcr however I do a lot of adjusting of my social schedule around my viewing time. We've all all got it bad.

Güera

Cheryl, good point about Fina's extortion money. We all seem much more worried about the money than Team Regina does.

Marta, I do not think the victim is Kari either. My guess is the same as Carlos's. I hope everything turns out OK for Alfonsina if she is the one being carried.

Will we have to make new t-shirts? Lazaro Saved Me

One more thing. I remember that Marina told her assistant that she DID use protection, but she somehow got pregnant. Her nurse commented that nothing is 100% effective so Marina's pregnancy must be God's will.

I am not ashamed to admit that I rushed through eating dinner with my colleagues in 45 minutes flat so that I could get back to watch the show in my hotel room, which I am doing right this moment. :)

Vivi, you're a caution!

I gave up the show the previous two nights to socialize (with people I have been with since 7 am!), so I don't feel too bad abotu it. :)

Vivi, it sounds like you deserve some alone time.

LOL! I really do love my colleagues. But that's a long time to be in one room with 45 people. And then dinner too!

I know what you mean Vivi...
btw, who lives in central FL? if i get to go see my mom this coming wk, i might need to sneak out for meeting a fellow forum friend out there as a break... will have my 2yo grandson with me so needs to be a family-oriented place. But not really sure if i will be going yet.
