Caray, Caray!

The biggest laugh for me was delusional Esther telling Judith that of course all the men are dying to be married to her just to be part of the grand illustrious Mondragon family. And Judith was all, "What fantasyland are you living in? No guy will have anything to do with me, specifically because Dad is so awful."

It was interesting to see JJ actually do the right thing for once (getting Saul to back off his support for Maripaz's horrible scheme), if only because he's still infatuated with Lucrecia.

I was proud of Carlota for finally airing all the dirty laundry, in front of Tony and Ivan and the lawyers.

I'm really hoping Ivan does not go stupid here because of his desire to be with his son. I know that villains have to win for a bit but she is so reprehensible on so many levels and everyone allows her to persistent in her madness in the name of family honor. Perhaps since Saul's (really JJ's) lawyer will cease to represent her since he won't get paid. Or even better Antolin will circulate that picture again as we know he kept a copy.

One scene I truly enjoyed was JJ using his meanness to be productive. Tony had come to see him (at home) and told JJ about the situation with MP and Saul. JJ has Esther fetch Saul from his room and asks his son if he is involved with this MP nonsense. Saul tried to deny it but then JJ makes him call the attorney. Saul has to confess and (I think) JJ kicks him out of the house (again).
 

Vivi- Excellent summary. Pretty much covers everything.

I say call her bluff. He won't of course, becasue that would be boring, but really the kid would end up with Tony who is now Ivan's papi. And really, which is more likely to be proven, a 10-year old murder that probably no one will admit to, or a recent hit and run that even the abuela will testify to? Maripaz is pushing her luck on this one. And it's not like he'd sleep with her skanky self anyway. He could get even by insisting they live on her mother's ranch, like the big happy family that they are.

Side note- Is this the worst novela town ever for keeping secrets? They might as well get some billboards up.
 

Yeah, I was also impressed, and happy, that JJ served a good purpose for once. That was great seeing him lay into Saul for supporting MP in this madness. I guess for him, if it's not helping his bottom line, it's not worth it. And this is actually hurting his bottom line.

I was also LOL at Judith's and Esther's conversation Julia. Esther definitely lives in LaLa Land about her family and marriage.

I haven't been able to watch MP in her evil selfish madness.

Of course, Ivan marrying Maripaz would be the most evil outcome of the current situation. And we know that goody-goody Lucia will tell him to do this.

I say that Ivan and Lucia should marry immediately. That leaves Lucia in a position to assume custody of Alex if Ivan goes to jail. Unless Carlota ends up there also she is a blood relative and can also take responsibility for Alex.

A judge with the right amount of common sense could see through all this. Since we can't expect that there is such a person in all Alamos, we can assume that Maripaz would attempt to seduce a corrupt one. However, she would have to give up major dinero and I don't see her doing that.

Antolin is a wild card in this game. I'm betting that he still has copies of the accident scene photo although he doesn't have the SIM card anymore. He could send the photo anonymously to Ivan and/or the police. I don't see him confessing to killing the ranch hand. Not yet, anyway.

I think they should all call MP's bluff, and get Alex in on it. OK. here is your hijo! You are now a single mother! Alex would say, "Madre!" She would back off in a hot minute.
BUT, that never happens in TN. There are way too many duty weddings.
 

Oh, that would be awesome if they actually came up with a clever scheme and got Alex on board with it. He could follow his mommy around all the time all clingy, and tell her about his problems and expect her to do stuff for him, and come up with constant parent tasks for her to do like teacher conferences and doctor appointments and shopping for socks and underwear and going to his futbol games and all that. She'd get sick of it SO FAST. Heck, even Ivan could get on board. "Okay, Maripaz, if we're going to consider marriage, here's what I expect from my wife..." He could really make her crazy with mind games if he wanted to.
 

I like that. The only problem is that Alex is afraid of her. If this were not the case, he's certainly intelligent enough to go along with it.
 

And Alex is not alone, everyone is afraid of her.

I agree with what you said Audrey. Matter of fact I was just going to say that while I was reading all the comments but you beat me to it. As for the Alex following Maripaz around idea. I don't like it. What's basically happening is that they will manipulate and use Alex to drive Maripaz nuts. That is not a good way to teach a young child how to act. He could grow up to be deceitful and tricky. I get the intention of doing it, but don't think Alex should be involved in schemes like that.

I don't think I like the turn the story is taking. She's (MP) getting on my nerves. But I'm hoping for a happy ending.

Does anyone else think that maybe Antolin will use the accident evidence to force MP to agree to let Carolina/Gerry take Alex? Which would keep Ivan and Lucia in opposition for more episodes and MP out of court. Or do you think somehow the story will all get out fairly quickly?
