Cuando Me Enamoro #144 Wednesday 11/9/11 Not much progress, heroine takes a dumb pill; hero too busy arguing with police, tantrum man gets benefit of doubt

Recap by Marta Ivett

Recap of prev ep:
Berta: You were capable of deceiving everyone into believing you were crazy… you are capable of anything…
Jero regretting helping Alvaro.
Alvaro torturing Karina…
Augie: I am sure Alvaro would rather die than go back to jail.
Nata: I am doing this more for duty than wanting to…

Antonio arrives at Gonzo’s house…
Gonzo surprised Antonio is in seminary now… Antonio tells him he will be assigned to the Valle de Guadalupe (near La Bonita)… Antonio wants to appologize, with broken voice…
Tony admits he knew Pepa and Fina were one and the same long before they found out. Gonzo puts a shocked locked face… I became her ally and I feel responsible for what happened to you.
G: It is not your fault (written on the pad)
Antonio says if I had not been a coward and had told the truth, you would not be like this.
Gonzo again does not blame him… Antonio keeps blaming himself. Needs to clean his conscience.
Gonzo says you are a good man, God bless you.
Tony says he is trying to find the right way, trying to find peace in God… will do whatever to help them in any way he can. Believe it or not, leaving in peace knowing Gina is with you. Know she is happy with you, loves you and she never loved me. Perhaps because I never played fair… I tried to retain her with the promise I would find her daughter.
Gonzo writes we all make mistakes, we have to learn to forgive others and ourselves…
Tony admits that Gonzo and Gina won at the game because they fought for their love.

Ezeq arrives and Augie rants at him how come Alvaro is alive? Augie wants to know how he was expedited a death certificate if he is alive? Ezeq gets really nervous… Augie notices it… You hate him because he slept with your wife and I hate him for being a traitor. Augie does not want to go find him, because he would expose himself in sending his own men to find Alvaro. He will let the authorities do it. He is sure Alvaro prefers to die than jail. Alvaro brings out the skeletons in Ezeq’s closet… Alvaro knows Ezeq used to be a delincuent, was in jail for some time.. just like Alvaro. Ezeq says he ended in jail because he was hungry (in poverty).. he was very young. Augie makes it clear that he is blackmailing Ezeq into keeping him up to date about any news regarding Alvaro. When Ezeq leaves, Augie tells himself that Ezeq is no longer loyal to him, knew Alvaro was alive and did not tell him, so noone will know about his jail time until he feels like it.

Ines, Gina and Connie talk about Chema and about Ines' foundation ‘aqui nadie se rinde.’ Gina says I opened this center in honor of my daughter, ANSR will also be great.

Alvaro has Kari tied up to a chair in some shack...(are we going to get a burning barn again a la Nunca te Olvidare?) … Somehow Karina headbumps Alvaro and he goes down for a long count unconscious. She thanks God for not letting him rape her again and she asks for help to be found… suddenly she leans back and, whala!! There is a nail on the wall right at the right height so she can rub the rope tying her hand on it.

Mati, Manuela and Herminia in kitchen… Mati does not feel like eating. They talk about what Kari and Lazaro are going through. Lazaro and Carlos are still out looking for Kari. Manuela is afraid of what Lazaro would do if he had Alvaro in front of him.

Carlos tells Lazaro he talked to Jero and he was told there is no news of Alvaro or Kari. Lazaro sounds pretty desperate to find her. Carlos tries to cheer him up. Lazaro could care less what happens to Alvaro, but if something happens to Kari he will never forgive himself.

Renata is checking something in her suitcase. Spots the emerald necklace and puts it away in a desk.

Jero is pampering Marina again… they talk about the situation, fairly uncomfortable. She can’t wait for the Dr to come diagnose her so she can go back home. Jero is concerned about the rest of her pregnancy. He wants to do whatever they can for the babies health. Jero says he would have loved for everything to have turned out different. She agrees. But there is no going back.

Jero and Nata are leaning in bed together, both of them are praying and wondering why isn’t Nata the one giving him a child? (BECAUSE YOU TWO ARE STUPID THAT’S WHY!)

Next day Manuela brings Marina breakfast in bed… Marina compliments her food…
Marina asks Manuela to find someone that can help care for her during the pregnancy.
Manuela says she would even do it herself because she knows Nata, Jero and everyone else trusts her. Manuela says the situation is affecting Nata too. Marina is a bit rough saying ‘yes she is the wife, and she feels bad having to share the roof with her husband’s children’s mother’… the truth is hard, but it is that, the truth.

Nata is dressed and gets the necklace Augie gave her… she writes a note… and leaves it on the bed…

Jero is in his office arguing with the police captain about not finding Alvaro.

Kari untied her hands… she tries to tie Alvaro (someone wasn’t a girl scout) but he is about to wake up so she leaves after hitting him with a bottle on the head to make him fall again. Sorry Alvaro, I did not want to hurt you, it is your life or mine.. and although I know you are alive, and will be for many years… never never… will we see each other again.

There is a road block out there.

Carlos and Lazaro continue looking for Kari.

At jail, Fina orders Roberta to go get the money and give it to the doctor in the jail. Berta is surprised at Fina’s smarts… you don’t even bother asking for my dad, Fina laughs and says surely he is in bed as a vegetable… Berta says nope, he is recovering very quickly (which really shocks Fina). IT seems you will never be able to get rid of him or Gina. And you don’t know how glad I am.

Doctor gives Gonzo the thumbs up on the check up.

Gonzo and Dr compliment Gina on her love and caring for Gonzo.

Back at La Bonita, Jero goes to the bedroom, reads Nata’s note and immediately guesses right what is the ‘errand’ Nata had to go run… to see Augie. Even though Nata’s note is asking him to trust her, he is visibly upset about her meeting Dunant.

Nata arrives at Tantrum Man’s… She is very dry with him, returns his necklace and engagement ring, and he asks why she changed with him. She says she came to clarify that… she asks directly if he was involved in the attempt to kill Alvaro. Augie acts offended. He gives her his word that he would never kill anyone. Questions why she believes a drunk… He blames Alvaro for kidnapping Kari and killing a man. Nata tells him that Alvaro would have reason to suspect Augie would want to kill him because he knew that Augie stole a grape plant spurt from La Bonita. Augie gets really angry and loud… He paid loads of money for the crops of La Bonita… Nata asks why would a man about to die lie about anything?? Augie yells that he will prove to Nata that he will prove that she is wrong. She is impactada, seems to believe him. (I don’t know if I am more mad at Tantrum man for sounding like a spoiled kid who is not getting his new toy, or at Nata for being the queen of dumb.)

Alvaro wakes up but is visibly beaten up and still a bit with a hangover. He keeps repeating Kari’s name… but is moving very sluggishly. Bichir is doing a great job in making that black suit as dirty as possible rolling all around the dirt floor…

Jero calls Nata’s cell but she won’t answer so he leaves her a message saying he is worried about her if she is with Augie.

Karina is walking around the fields… seems very tired and desperate begging for help.

Berta arrives to the jail doctor’s office… she gives him the briefcase full of money. Fina comes in. Berta takes her leave, she is mad and just says she did what Fina wanted. The doctor observes that Berta does not love Fina…

Gina and Gonzo walk the Doctor out and then get a bit cheesy ‘it was your love’…

Hono and Matt at the office… Matt is heading to see Gonzo… asks Hono to come. Hono is reluctant to leave the office alone, Adri is not there. Hono says the Berta issue is making him very unsettled, so he ends up leaving with Matt.

A woman comes to the center with a baby in her arms… Connie and Ines attend to her. The woman has no money or skills, she wants to learn how to support her child.

Chema’s doctor tells dad the bad news that all they can do is control the pain until the end comes. Adri is asking how long do they have. Doctor not sure. They have to come up with a pretext to bring Chema to have tests done without telling him.

Chema is at a jewelry store and asks Julieta to help him choose an engagement ring that he plans to give Adri on the day of the restaurant opening.

Alvaro unties himself and goes out with the gun to look for Karina.

Jero calls Marina’s doctor, who found a portable sonogram and is heading there to check her.

Mati tells Jero that Nata arrived. Marina tells Mati that Jero is a good man… the best man I know.

Jero goes to bedroom to see Nata… he confronts her immediately about going to see Dunant. Nata tells him Augie swore he did not order Alvaro’s death and did not steal the grape plant. Jero is now the offended one, says she believes Augie… Nata tells Jero that Alvaro’s word is the one that has no credibility. Jero asks if she would believe Ezequiel’s word. Jero tells Nata that Augie ordered Ezequiel to kill Areli… Eze came to tell Lazaro and they took her out of town safely. Why would he kill Areli? Because she was a nuisance to him and because she was the one that ruined his ‘mosto’ (the crops from La Bonita).

Previews:
Seems Kari finds Lazaro but as they hug, Alvaro points to them with his gun.
Tantrum man is yelling at someone that he won’t allow his reputation to be ruined by a man who is a delinquent! (so much for keeping the card about Ezeq for another day)
Then we see Augie and Jero on a face-off
(This Friday it will begin at 6:50est, 5:50 cst, no show Thursday for the latin grammys.)

Thanks so much Marta! (I know I am up way too late.)

OK, I may the only one, but I think it was pretty gutsy (and yes, crazy) of Nata to go confront Augie directly about Nesme's accusations, now that everyone knows he's alive. I also think this has delayed any attempted kidnapping or rape because now Augie knows exactly why Nata has put so much distance between them. His goal now is to work to "clear his name."

Before, Augie was getting so desperate to have Nata any way he could have her (since she had cut him off), that he planned that crazy snatch and sniff plan. Now I think he will have a new strategy to win her confidence back by fighting the accusations against him. He was very smart to bring up how EVERYONE accused her of being La Bonita, including Jero, and despite all the evidence she found proving her innocence. That really struck a chord with her.

Good for Kari, headbutting Nesme, trying (pathetically) to tie him up, and smashing a bottle over his head. She rescued herself! Even while bawling the entire time. :)

Nata's not the one knocked up with Jero's babies because HE refused to sleep with her when they got married. Wasted time Jero.

Thanks Marta, This was a marvelous recap so rich with detailed dialog which is your special treat for us each week along with such fun observatons of the absurdity of some of the characters.

Yeah, Vivi, I was cheering the head-butting signal that our string self-sufficient Kari was back to stay. Hurray for her. I don't care that she had to cry through the whole time too, she really took control finally.

Nata was gutsy to go question Augie herself, but she isn't afraid of his real raging yet. Of course, he was going to deny all wrong doing and vindicate himself while trashing Jero as well as he could. She did take notice at the end, that piece about him ordering the offing of Arely didn't fit Renata's picture of the good Augie. He was also barely in control of his rage while she was talking about all this and she visibly jumped back a few times when he got physical. Great acting again tonight.

I didn't mean the string Kari was back, I really meant to say the strong Kari was back.

Wow, Kari blew my mind tonight. A head butt? Marta, "someone wasn’t a girl scout", too, too funny!

I'm sure Carlos means well but with his limping injuries isn't he more of a liability than an asset to Lazaro's search? Ah well, it looks from the previews that our two lovebirds find each other...but will they live to enjoy it? Fingers crossed.

Vivi, interesting theory about Augustin. I do agree that the temptation to "clear his name" with Nata will be irresistible. It makes sense that it will take precedence over his creepy fantasy plot. He is a perv but so far not too terribly stupid. Since the (somewhat contrived and suddenly convenient) plot device of Augie blackmailing Ez because of some long ago jail term, Jero might find Ez hard put to support him claim against Augie. If Laz is somehow out of commission (Gah! Bite my tongue!) this will further complicate the issue. But it's late and I'm over-analyzing.

Our friends the rats practically have speaking parts they are on-camera so much.

Marta, you are such a whiz with the conversations and details to your recaps. Thank you for helping me to relax and unwind tonight.

Marta, thanks for the heads up on the time change. In my area (west coast) CME is scheduled to air Friday at 8:15 p.m.

Thanks for the great recap Marta, I couldnt sleep and was glad to see it posted so soon!

Loved the head butt move by Kari, but not taking the gun was really DUMB! I was yelling at her to shoot him! It's the only way to free her from the Nightmare on Nesme Street !

I thought Gonzo was shot in the head?? But he has no bandages, so what did I miss ?

During the entire episode I kept thinking about all the wedding food that was never eaten!! Wish I could raid the fridge there and bring home a big doggie bag!

Hubbie is working Latin Grammys , I emailed him pictures of Silvia so maybe he can take a pic with her so I can Post it! The only one he ever remembers is Lucero, he thinks she is prettier in person.

Great way to start what's going to be a crummy day at work. Thanks for making me smile Marta.

The rats were out last night! (Although I like the little scurry guy - so underappreciated.) Still boggles my mind that Kari is apologizing for hurting Dr. HumanSlime. And then to have that dress around, no wonder she's going slow. THink I would have ripped the darn thing off and run for the hills in my undies...

I tell you, these writers know how to get us worrying, then back off where we think a plot is going. Here we were all panicking with Nata getting near Auggie and nothing...thank goodness. I agree Marta with getting frustrated with Nata - she always WANTS to believe Auggie.

The confrontation tonight should have testerone seeping out of our TV's. Hoping the Kari saga ends well, but I'm worried where that bullet was headed ( Carlos?).

Good morning. Marta you've given us another winner. I love your take on both of them " praying and wondering why isn’t Nata the one giving him a child? (BECAUSE YOU TWO ARE STUPID THAT’S WHY!)"

Renata is maddeningly consistent. How many notes has she left on the bed now?

You go , Kari ! The escape is gutsy but the attack when Alvaro was about to rape her again was super-gutsy. I need to rewind that and watch it again. I thought that she spit in his face & that he stumbled and blacked out.

One thing -- the blackmail of Ezequiel is more than just to protect his rep because he has done jail time. I think the hold Auggie has on him is that he, like Alvaro, is on the run -- an escapee that the law is still after.

Sylvia, I think you are on to something about this blackmail of Zeke is going to make it harder for Jero to make the case against Auggie. Zeke may no longer feel able to stand up and accuse Auggie of all his misdeeds.

Güera

Marta, thank you for a terrific recap.

I thought the title was perfect. Your narrative conveyed all of the events beautifully - thank you! It is such a help for those of us who struggle to understand many of the conversations. Your detail was well written and "tantrum" made me smile every time I read it.

Nata regresses. Again. Sigh.

In the midst of all this angst, I was happy to see that Shelob from Lord of the Rings was hired as an extra here. I am not afraid of spiders but I would make an exception for the gargantuan specimen in the cabin. Ack.

And Zeke. Probably stole something to survive as a yound man? He should come clean - he will be forgiven by all.

Lastly, I would like to recognize Veterans Day and all of the brave men and women who have and continue to serve our country. I give my heartfelt thanks to Mike, Paula H. (and everyone else), especially on the Caray blogs for your service.

Diana

Guera- I deleted the extra post for you.

I know it was crazy to do it, but I'm glad someone has finally confronted Augie to his face about his misdeeds. Everyone else in Ensenada talks about it in whispers, yet no one does anything about it. They are all cowards. The closest anyone came was Jero impulsively accusing him of killing Rafa and having him thrown in jail for a few days (this does not help Jero's current accusations, by the way). I much prefer a heroine that tells it straight and tells people what she thinks to their face, than one who is a constant shrinking violet who can't go after what she really wants/needs (that's driving me crazy in Fuerza right now).

Güera, "an escapee that the law is still after", yes! That makes so much sense. I wonder if that will be true? As Diana says, probably something he did as a young man in a desperate situation. Of course everyone would understand but Augi is lording it over him.

Vivi, Renata confronting Augi is only crazy if everything they say about him is true, and she does not want to believe it. She is giving him the benefit of the doubt as she always does.

Shelob from Lord of the Rings, LOL! All our favorite animal stars seem to be employed even in this bad economy.

I am still so annoyed at Kari for her stupid knot-tying and leaving the gun with Nesme like Elle pointed out. Instead of using those pathetically short pieces of line she could have used his tie, her veil, strips of her petticoat, anything! I would have stolen his pants and shoes for good measure. That girl just doesn't think.

Thanks Marta, this is great. I didn't have the benefit of CCs last night so your translations were particularly useful for me.

I'm a bit confused. It appeared to me as though Fina turned all of her loot over to Dr. Icky. Did she actually do such a stupid thing? Maybe she is crazy after all. I certainly wouldn't trust that guy and I thought that she didn't trust anyone.

I thought that Augie revealed his nasty side to Renata last night and yet she still seems willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

daisynjay, for the life of me I couldn't understand why Kari was trying to run with the gown and petticoats gathered up in her arms like that. I tried to notice but couldn't tell... did she have on high heels as well?

And why weren't Laz and Carlos on horseback instead of allowing poor Carlos to struggle along limping so badly?

Loved the closeup profile of Señor Rodent. He's looking fat and healthy. I hope they paid him appropriately.

Kari's a seamstress and should be very familiar with knots. No reason that Alvaro shouldn't have ended up trussed up like a Christmas goose... and she left the gun behind as well? She needs some lessons in basic survival skills.

I'm guessing that Zeke may have accidentally killed someone. I can't imagine him getting so nervous about some lesser crime... but I'm still mystified as to why only Augie knows about it.

I'm really beginning to feel sympathy for Roberta. She seems so alone, defenseless, and vulnerable... even though she is usually the best dressed.

Chema's daddy told the Dr. that he is not having the blackouts, headaches, and memory gaps since he's taking his meds, so why not tell him again that Adri is not his novia?

Carlos

Marta, great recap, thanks. And Vivi thanks for posting.

Sylvia, what are you talking about, if I had been Kari I would taken the gun and put a hole in his head the size of Dallas - the heck with taking his shoes.

Renata, what is it going to take to make you understand just how evil Augie is?

The one I cannot abide is Dr. Tatas. She really believes that she is the wronged party in this mess that she has caused. Even Manuela was rolling her eyes last night.

Maybe I am starting to run all of the TN I have watched into one, but didn't Zek kill someone for Augie early on? Vivi, help.

Rosemary

Rosemary of course you are right. Kari should have blown that creep away and let our chubby rats gnaw his bones. However I'm not sure she could have lived with herself. And in answer to Carlos's question, yes she had on some big old high heels. No wonder she was wobbling all over the countryside.

Funny how we rely on Vivi to be our collective memory. That's exactly what I thought.

Oh Rosemary, I hope you are wrong about Zeke. I know that he did some dirty work for Auggie early on but I don't remember him actually killing someone. I so want him to emerge a hero at the end.

Güera

At a conference and trying to do this from my phone. Zeke helped augie arrange to have Carlos beaten up.
Vivi

I am loving the discussion of how fat and prosperous the rats look here. I even thought they looked cute in close up but I love all animals so wouldn't mind a photo shoot with them. These guys aren't dirty looking at all. I'm just sure they have never spent a night in a slimey alley or smelly gutter.

Zeke was pleading with Augie that what he did was in desperation when he was young and hungry. But I think the supposition that someone died is likely. Still it is unbelievable that at least Lazaro didn't know about it as his best buddy from early childhood.

And yes, I am glad that Augie is going to have to tame his inner rapacious beast.

I am so happy to share that Lila will do next Tuesday night's episode and she will then share Tuesdays with Elna June. Please welcome these two intrepid CarayCaray members and congratulate them for making the big plunge or replunge in the case of Elna June who has recapped several past telenovelas here. You two are going to have fun and sharpen your language skills as a reward. tune in or sign in and give them a hand!

I agree with Guera and Sylvia... the 'Ezeq is a convict being seized by the law' theory fits perfectly here...

Dang, I don't want to be right. There is always something getting in the way of Nata recognizing Augustin for the creepy perv that he is.

Huge welcome to previous guest recapper Elna June and first-timer Lila. You two rock!

Thanks, Marta. I was sorry to miss this episode. Not sorry to miss the spider.

Vivi, loved "snatch'n'sniff plan"! I can actually hear the sniffing as I read...

As for Kari, I think she could have at least kneecapped him. Jeez.

Marta:
Thanks for a detailed recap with all the nuances of dialog discussed. It was great.

daisynjay:

The bullet could be headed for Carlos? What a horrid thought. I am telling you guys, it is no wonder that Carlos' mommy is overattached. The guy is an accident going somewhere to happen. What in heaven's name was he doing out there in the woods hopping around? Not being helpful in finding Kari, that's for sure. Oh well at least he gave Laz some moral support.

Further, ITA with you that Kari could have made better time in her wedding corset and blue garter. Modesty be damned when you you are running from a nutcase ex.

Elle, what does huby do that he works the Latin Grammys?

Sylvia:

Oh, Kari could have taken a knot-tying class from you, for sure. Tell me she didn't tie a bow, please.

I love the cute little rats. They are probably someones pets. Shelob, I could have done without. Diana, that was just a perfect comment.

Woohoo, such a good recap, Marta. So many comments and so little time.

Carlos--I can't remember the sequence of money acquisition, but I think Fina has cash coming out the wazoo. She got a stash of cash when she killed her accomplice and investigator. She has deposited money (which or when, I'm not sure) in an account in her maiden name. She got that suitcase full of Gina/Jero's cash. Isn't that what Berta has been living on?

Guera--you are on to something. I think Augie had something to do with helping Ezek out of that jam as a young man and that is what has kept him working there for so long.

So, for Nata to go on believing Augie over Jero, Laz and Carlos both have to be put out of commission for awhile. I think AlmostDeadAlvaro gets Carlos (maybe just seriously wounded) before the authorities get there--thereby reinforcing Matilde's superstitions. I think Augie's prediction of WishingAlvarooosoooDead is a perfect candidate for suicide by police.

Carlos--you are right on again. This Chema charade is just an episode filler. What's Adri going to do at the ribbon cutting, say no, and embarass herself, Chema and everyone present? Basta.

As for Roberta--any sympathy we may garner for her, is immediately dashed the very next time she thought bubbles how much she hates Renata and wants to make sure she has a miserable life. For what? Rob has led a selfishly privileged life that she has wasted at clubs, swimming, tennis, and massages--yes, and on a better wardrobe. She's only been unlucky in love to blame on her sister.

Well, ok, and having a manipulative mother. It's possible that witnessing all the desprecio and abusive treatment of Renata all those early years made her afraid that mama might turn on her so she caves into mama every time. Bravo to Roberta for now standing up to her, even though we know it's for personal gain--Gina-mama is nicer than Fina-mama.

Girl scout knot tying. Give Kari a break. I sew and did the whole Camp Fire Girl thing and never learned how to tie a knot. But she should have at least tied his hands behind him--and yes, taken the gun and his shoes. If she didn't want to handle it, she could have flung it out the door. (Pshaw, how after all that running through the woods and fields, did DocCrazy know EXACTLY where the rescue party was--oops, dropped my beanie.)

Lila--Can't wait for your first recap. Your comments are so full of snark and sense, we'll get a triple thrill out of a recap. EJ--looking forward to yours, too. Thanks for stepping up.

Jero--remember when we all HATED him for the way he was treating Renata early on? We all wanted him to SUFFER, PAY and GROVEL before that inevitable happy ending. Jero is obviously suffering now. The one happy event in a newly married couple's life who wants a family is word of a pregnancy and this is one that is not going the way it's supposed to. The wife he's in love with is not to be the mother of his children and he is not in love with said mother.

If you want to see a completely unreedemable character portrayed by Juan Soler, just check out Apuesta Por Un Amor. He is Gabriel, a high stakes gambler who wins an hacienda next door to the family of the heroine, Julia (Patricia Manterola). To make her his, he wins her family's hacienda and will only give it back if she marries him--great way to start a life together. They have been fighting ever since he met her. Almost an Augie-winning award for jaw jutting and woman-handling.
NOK

Sorry, I meant for Renata to go on believing Augie, Laz and Ezek have to be put out of commission. That changes the scenario. But Carlos could still be in the line of fire for the superstition to continue.
NOK

Our utmost thanks Lila and Elna June!! You both rock! I'm already bumming out that I have discovered I have to attend a week of meetings in NY in December and will miss the episodes - just as we are getting to end lines at that point. SOoooooo going to rely on all our fab recappers.

Love everyone's take on our favorite TN rodent and kari's know typing ability. The one last night especially reminded me of the chubby little rascal in Cinderella. Go figure. As for Kari, when I saw her tie a bow when attempting to bind his hands, I thought "For the love of..." I good swift kick to the nether regions would have decommissioned the loon even better. Kari is too sweet for her own good. Now if it was me.....

Oh, and thanks for the reminder on the early episode!!

Marta, thank you so much! I love your commentary.

I was right there with all of you wondering why Kari didn't take the gun when she left the canalla, and his shoes as well. I was really hoping he would take the opportunity to die, but I think Kari would have been too traumatized forever if she had killed him. And why is she wandering through the woods? There must be a road or at least a path leading to that house; following it should lead her to other people. Sigh. I hope Kari stumbles across the Wizard and asks for a brain.

Nata is willfully ignorant about Augie. She's seen him get mad, and she thinks Jero, the one she loves and (mostly) trusts, is making things up. On the other hand, Jero hasn't been telling her the specific reasons he knows Augie is evil, up until now. He says Augustin is bad, Renata gets offended, they end the conversation both in a huff. At least now she's hearing actual reasons which can be verified, since apparently the reactions of pretty much everyone to this guy aren't convincing enough.

Thanks for your recap Marta. And thanks for your double-header as well Cheryl.

Diana, your comment about Shelob was hilarious.

I am concerned that Renata's willfulness about Augie will put her in real danger.

EJ, Kari DID tie a bow for pete's sake. Good eye. I cringed while watching.

Elle, I forgot to say how exciting that your hubby works for the Latin Grammys. Lucero is even more attractive in person? Dang, that is like improving perfection. I'm sure Shakira is even more charismatic and beautiful in person too. Isn't she getting a special award tonight?

Julia, "I hope Kari stumbles across the Wizard and asks for a brain." Brilliant on its own but you get bonus points for the Wizard of Oz reference.

Nata stupidly goes to Auggie to ask if he ordered a hit. Like he’s going to tell her he did?!

Kari tying Dr. Dipshit hands with a bow?! And what was that speech before she leaves. Are you insane?! Get out of there, girl.

Sylvia: “Since the (somewhat contrived and suddenly convenient) plot device of Augie blackmailing Ez because of some long ago jail term, Jero might find Ez hard put to support him claim against Augie.” My thoughts exactly.

Guera: Good point about Zeke being on the run. That makes more sense, especially at how scared Zeke was. Being a former juvenile delinquent isn’t blackmail worthy.

Rosemary: “The one I cannot abide is Dr. Tatas. She really believes that she is the wronged party in this mess that she has caused. Even Manuela was rolling her eyes last night.” I know!! This woman is unbelievable. Jero, for all his faults—and there are many—did the decent thing and told her upfront that he still loved his wife. She took him on those terms and now SHE’S the victim?!

Julia: “At least now she's hearing actual reasons which can be verified, since apparently the reactions of pretty much everyone to this guy aren't convincing enough.” Amen!!!

The Doc is drunk or at least has a hangover and a bump on the head. He’s not going to be shooting too straight. My fear: He gets Carlos. Just read your comments daisynjay—I see we’re fearing the same thing.

Maybe Nata doesn’t want to believe the worst in Auggie, because it will be just one more person who she believed in who deceived her.

Yay!! to Lila and Elna June. Looking forward to reading your recaps.

Robey

Lila & Elna June, thanks for coming to the rescue of those of us that need your help.

Last night my husband, that doesn't watch these TN (or so he says) walked in an saw Kari having her boda adventure and said "everytime there is a wedding something goes wrong, why don't they just elope". He doesn't understand that we would miss all of the fun!

I laughed at Kari running away with her veil firmly in place. How in the world did they secure that thing?

Word verification today "shest" - says it all.

Rosemary #1

Gracias for this and gracias to Elna June and Lila in advance.

I completely agree about Kari's conscience, but she should have stripped this creep and burned his clothes outside and tossed the gun into something wet.

Dr Tatas is seriously delusional and if Jero wants Renata to trust him he'd better wake up to the reality of his own behavior.

Dr.Carlos- I had the same thought about Kari and her knot tying. She's not only a seamstress but she embroiders too. Those knots should have been beautiful. But maybe she was too busy ignoring the gun to worry about a proper French knot.

I'm guessing it's Carlos who gets shot and Mati blames her curse. If anyone has a case for eloping, it's those two.

Marta, many thanks for this fine recap. Looking forward to Elna June and Lila's future recaps, too.

Emilia has a stainless mixing bowl that's about 18" across. That's going to be my new beanie if some of these plot lines continue.

Kari's inability to properly bind Alvaro's been covered. Do you think if she'd work on self-control she fuss and cry less and free up some brain cells for the task at hand.

I'm wondering if the Carlos who plays Carlos got hurt for real and that's what led to the bandaged hands and limping. Can't see that this partial/temp disability lends anything to the story line.

Marina / Renata / Manuela et al... Well, my mother always said that women are each others' natural enemies. Just please keep fetal well-being first and foremost.

Renata - you know if she finds herself tied up and slung over Agustin's shoulder on the way to the licking and slobbering house, she can only blame herself. Is she really that naive?

Diana, thanks for the nod to the vets. I believe nuestro amigo nuevo David in IN said he's also a vet. All in all, it was 24 pretty well-spent years and a privilege to serve this country of ours.

The stainless steel mixing bowl - YAY!! Just imagine the reverberation when I thump you on the head!! Can't wait, tee hee...

Marta, thanks for a stellar recap, Vivi for posting, EJ and Lila for stepping up to the plate, all you commenters...........

I was hoping Kari would ditch the wedding dress, a la whatshername in Las Tontas and dash off in her skivvies. Guess she's too much of a good girl. Sylvia, if I'm ever tied up, I hope you are there. You don't mess around, girl! Kari saved us another terrible sight of Dr. Drunko by leaving his pants on.

Wow. What a great group of comments to go with the fabulous recap.

Marta, thanks for your quip about Kari not being a Girl Scout. Like another commenter I was dumbfounded she didn't tie his hands BEHIND him, and then...oh God, tying a bow!? Just pathetic. But at least she got away. Did hope that since she left the gun behind he'd shoot himself, but it was not to be.

Elle...tell us more about your hubster's job at the Grammys. We ALL want to know.

Diana...thanks for the reminder about Veteran's Day and our own veterans, Mike, Paula and David. We are all blessed by you.

And also blessed by Lila and Elna June climbing on board to keep the Tuesday night recaps going! Way to step up to the plate you two. Mil gracias.

Thanks for the wonderful recap, Marta!

Yeah, Mike, I'm a vet. While it is popular and common to thank vets today, when I was in things were exactly the opposite. The last 16 months I was in I worked at AFEES, Buffalo, NY (a draft station). We were assaulted in some form daily and sometimes battered. The area where my future wife worked was often locked down and they were told to hide under their desks. So it is very special to me to have a fellow citizen thank vets for their service, so a special thanks to you, Diana. (And to you Mike for your years of service.)

My wife and I (42 years next July) also have a son who is an Infantry Lt. Col. and who is currently serving in Iraq. They will be pulling out on or about Nov 23 :)

Whew! Got that off my chest.

I think Nata is beginning to see a little dirt under the edge of the carpet where Augie is concerned. The way her spine stiffened several times during his tirade made me believe that she is beginning to see that he's not the suave gentleman she had assumed. And I think his hypothermia is getting worse, because now he's wearing a jacket with fleece showing.

I was surprised that Doc Nesme skipped breakfast - there was a full bottle of it sitting there on the table. I had hoped that huge spider would climb up his pantleg and do some major damage.

Did you notice that as he woke up he was covered in dirt and debris, but when he was outside chasing Kari he was perfectly clean - a testiment to the cleansing power of country air.

David in IN

All the best to your son and your family David!

So many great comments today! You guys are amazing, and we are all obviously having a good time watching this tn, with all its drama and crazy situations.

Just spent the day with 200 high school seniors, who also are an extremely funny group of people. I feel like i have been laughing all day.

Diana, you are consistently one of our most thoughtful and gentle commenters, thank you for reminding us all about Veteran's day tomorrow. Blessings and thoughts to our own veterans David, Mike, Paula, and all the the others. David, we'll be thinking of your son. Please keep us posted. My own dear suegra was a Koren War vet (WAC) and the color guard ceremony at her memorial yesterday was very touching.

David:

My thanks to you, Mike, and all others who have served our country. Also, my prayers go out to your son. May he return home, soon, safe and sound.

Vivi, you must be a saint. Spending the day with 200 high school kids sounds like my idea of penance. Smile. Glad you had a good time though.

I am looking forward to a little substitute recapping and getting my hand back in. I can only hope that no one speaks too fast or uses a lot of dichos when it's my turn to summarize the capitulos. I am counting on you guys filling in all the blanks, of course!

With a smile,

EJ

Elna June- Well, I don't have to take them home with me. ;-) That would be a whole other story.

But spending the day teaching them how to build their own personal brand, how to network, financial management once they get to college, and tips for their first year of college is easy and fun.

Thank you, all, for remembering us veterans. I'll be walking in the parade for the first time, tomorrow. In my old uniform? HA! Solo en mis suenos!

I hope it's a lovely day for the parade Paula.

Paula, I hope you have a fun day tomorrow. Rain or shine I'm sure your own pride will shine through. Thanks so much for visiting us today.

I continue to be amazed at the talents of this group. Your work with young people sounds rewarding and important. I forgot that tomorrow on actual
Veteran's Day we will have no episode to comment on. So today as we prepare for tomorrow let me add my thanks to all the veterans among us.

I just have to add my thanks to our veterans, Mike, Paula and David and I am especially thinking of David's son in Iraq. Next week I will share a portait of an Iraqui mother and son who are fairly recent refugees in NM. You will see a beautiful example of why what he is doing is so worth doing for the safety and peace of us all.

I am missing the episode tonight as I sit here in my cozy room in Socorro after photographing birds coming to the ponds to rest for the night then the biggest orangy full moon climbed above the distant hills to make the whole scene sparkle. I was so excited, I think everything was out of focus but I have until Sunday to get it right.

I've been thinking more about Marina's continual surprise at being the necessary but less than welcome guest in Jero's home. She mistakenly thinks she is sharing Jero - not at all hers to share. She mentions that this could have been her house - I don't think that would have held up to the light of day. She is smart so my guess is that she will go home as soon as she can and stop doing this to herself. Oh, and yes, as Marta pointed out, if Renata and Jero weren't so stupid at the beginning, she would already be pregnant and not dreading the pregancy of her one night rival.

Picturing you in Socorro, Cheryl -- beautiful -- we went for the Crane Festival one year and it was amazing.

Please add my thank you to the Veterans of our nation and especially to the those on this blog.

David, Godspeed to your son.

OT: Cheryl, have you ever been to Texas for the Whooping Cranes?

Amigos! Thank you for the welcome to EJ and I. . .I'm feeling more excited and full of anticipation than scared at the prospect of my debut recap! Yikes! I've had at least 5 years of reading your stellar offerings and the way everyone pitches in when there's a patch of rapid-fire speech, confusing storyline or something-or-other gives me confidence as well.

I'm embarrassed that I don't know more about my Father's service in Europe during WWII. I'm blessed to still have him at 86 and I see him every week.. . .I need to get his story. Thanks, Father and all the Vets on this board and everywhere for your service and sacrifice. And thanks to their families for THEIR sacrifice as well!

Lila

Happy Veterans' Day! Of course we have heroes on this blog. We could sense it before you told us. Thank you Paula, Mike, David and David's son!

Fortunately for me, the Latin Grammies allowed me to catch up with CME. There have been so many funny comments. I wish I'd written them down, so I could bring them up again and we could all re-LOL.

Marta, loved the re-cap. You are always so good at spelling it out for us.

Rosemary #1 - About Zeke killing someone earlier on..... I remember a scene where he had his gun pulled at someone's head in the vineyard (at JutJaw's command), but don't think he ever pulled the trigger. Does anyone remember who the gun was pointed at?

I must add my dismay at Kari's BOW. I was waiting for her to pull out some scissors to zip the ends of the rope into cute little curls.

I admire her headbutting, but must say I wonder what Laz sees in her.

R la O

daisyjay, you got us all commenting on the 'crafting' talent of Kari on the tying into a bow and
rosemary ...
to zip the ends of the rope into cute little curls.
that is priceless!!

and yes, maybe Carlos de la Mota really got hurt and they had to write it in.. just like they did with Angelica Vale in La fea...

I liked the curly ends on the bows comment too.

Are we all going through withdrawals because of no episode last night? I truly enjoyed the Latin Grammys but I miss chatting, snarking and laughing with everyone over my morning tea. Our own Silvia Navarro looked lovely last night and, unlike everyone else, actually had a long (and beautifully stylish) coat over her gown! I couldn't believe she wasn't showing off her glorious assets. That seems somehow oddly humble to me and certainly differentiates her from nearly everyone else.

I went to the movies yesterday and wasn't back until 8. I'm finally relaxing after spending most of the day in the kitchen. I entertain friends tomorrow.

I'm getting impatient to find out what the replacement novelas will be for CME and LFdD.

I'm looking forward to what's new, too, UA. I'd like to be in on something from the beginning for once!

I might even be ready by the new year to try my hand at recapping (there, I said it!) -- but right now, many, many thanks to Lila and EJ for being willing to take the plunge.

Latin Grammys:

The "Giselle" hosting the pre-awards show where they interviewed arriving stars was one of the stars in the Manos Quietas play I saw live last Friday! That was a big surprise for us, and I had to look it up to make sure it really was her. And she has to be back in Miami today for the play opening there!

I also really enjoyed seeing M A Solis performing the beautiful "A Donde Vamos a Parar" song from Teresa. I had no idea it was his song.

Lucero looked awesome. Watching the Alborada bloopers turned me into a big fan, because it showed her true nature - that of a comedienne on the scale of Lucille Ball. I wish they would put her in a comedy that showcases her ability to make faces, do funny voices, and do impressions. She obviously loves doing that sort of thing.

Audrey

On the new TNs - they showed short teasers for 2012: Talisman (which has Aaron Diaz) and La Que No Podía Amar (which has the Aurora actress from Teresa). The Matías actor from CME is in one of them- with his hair back! But I don't remember which.

Audrey

Lila - your comments are always so funny, you'll do great. Just pretend it's an longer than usual comment post, and just be your usual passionate irreverent self!

Audrey

P.S. Sorry I haven't been able to pitch in more to help with the recaps, but I have no DVR and so I am dependent on the web versions being available. Most of the CME episodes have been pulled from the usual web locations for TNs.

I missed the Grammys last night, but did dvr it and the pre-show. Let me know what performance and/or actors (in their fancy clothes) were a "must see."

If anyone is going to D.F. anytime soon, it would be great if you could try out Silvia Navarro's restaurant Sabor Amor and let us know how it is. Here are pictures from her grand opening this past spring and a video highlighting the space and food by one of her chefs. It looks really cool.

Silvia and Sebastián Rulli were interviewed together at the Grammys, I thought they both looked great but I hope Rulli cuts his hair before the novela.

Audrey: Lucero's next novela will be a comedy with Jaime Camil. Also confirmed for the novela are Paty Navidad, Marcelo Córdoba, Helena Rojo, Leticia Perdigón (Camilo's mom in Fuerza), Carlos de la Mota, Mariana Seoane, Manuel Ojeda and Jesús Ochoa.

Jarocha

Thanks for the tip Jarocha. That upcoming comedy sounds like it has a great cast! And Marcelo C is in it. Ay, Marcelo!

Found these pics of Silvia and Sebastian at the Grammys. It is interesting that Silvia decided to cover up on the green carpet. The dress underneath was quite sexy. Sebastian seems to like it.

http://sebastian-rulli.blogspot.com/2011/11/sebastian-y-silvia-en-latin-grammys.html

Oh man...... I only got the PRE grammies recorded, and missed the show. At least I got to see Beautiful Sylvia N (not to be confused with our Beautiful Sylvia SB). I did love her dress and her modesty. She's got it to flaunt it, but chooses to play it cool.

Why did she and Sebastian Z arrive together? Are they doing a show? Do they date?

I can tie last night's red carpet to the shack Dr. RollinRatPoop and Kari were in:
You referred to the big spider as Shelob (which if I'd ever seen LOTR I'd probably get the joke) but actually he looks like my sweet zebra tarantula that I acquired when some kid asked my daughter to Spring Formal six years ago. You know they can't just ask each other to go to dances anymore; it all has to be staged, and this zebra tarantula was part of the prop.
Well...... what is the name of my big, scary guy? Sebastian! And there you have 6 Degrees of Separation from Mati and Laz's old house to the Latin Grammies.

R la O

I believe SN and SR are currently filming a tn together.

Apparently Sebastian and Silvia are together in "De Pura Sangre"...?

http://sebastian-rulli.blogspot.com/2011/10/silvia-navarro-y-sebastian-rulli-son.html

Oh. My. To-Tal. Gosh!! Jaime Camil!! I luuuuuuuuurve Jaime Camil! I hope it comes on a network I can get!!! Exciiiiiiting!!!!

Whew. Okay. Loving all these comments, y'all killin' me.

Lila

While doing a search on Lu's new TN, I found this interesting tidbit.
